Totally Annoying and Not Funny at All
Azriel x reader
<3
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Warnings: some swearing and suggestiveness
Word count: 6.7k (I’m so sorry??)
Summary: Azriel finds you annoying and he never laughs at your lame jokes… until he does.
<3
Azriel tried his best to ignore the mumbling that was sounding behind him, tune it out like he did with everything else he didn't want to hear. He sighed rolling his shoulders as he continued to shlep up the uneven rocks.
He had been stuck with you... again. He tried raging against his brother’s order, insisting he could handle a simple recovery mission on his own but Rhys didn't budge, saying, "She's a fine scholar who has studied Marestone for years, with her help you can turn a three day mission into one and a half." But being here, with you, he couldn't help the but wondering on the implications of leaving you here and ditching the mission completely.
It started when you appeared in his doorway as he was getting ready to leave, his shadows alerted him of your presence and he stopped short to give you a hard look. Maybe if he looked mean enough you wouldn't want to go, he knew it wouldn't work but he had to try it anyway.
You let out a low whistle as your eyes tracked up and down his body, "Is that a sword in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?" You had a devilish smile and your eyes shone with mischief. He just rolled his eyes at the words, the same line every time you see him. Last time you asked if it was a shadow, the time before that a dagger, and the time he was carrying training equipment you asked if it was a fighting dummy.
He didn't speak to you as you sauntered through his room uninvited and landed belly up on his bed, shadows darted around your face and you giggled "at least someone's happy to see me." You pawed at the shadows as they darted through your hands, a little cat and mouse with the naughty shadows that didn't listen when its master tried to call them back.
You rolled over and watched him as he continued to sheath daggers and swords all over his body as the shadows played in your hair. "You know," you started and he rolled his eyes again, knowing it was going to be a repeating offense since he had to spend the next day and a half with you, "The Northwood mountains are relatively safe, I don't think you'll be needing all that hardware."
He didn't have to look over to know you had a stupid grin plastered on your face as you watched him. He just huffed and responded coldly, "You never know." You didn't really and he knew that, you moved through the world like it was your playground and you were put on this planet for the sole reason of having fun, never worrying about the dangers life has to offer. Must be nice not having a dirty past he thought to himself.
You returned the sentiment by huffing in response as well, the only difference of yours was light and airy and not laced with annoyance. "Your right your right," you had opted to rolling back over and kicking your feet as the shadows swished around your ankles, "I hear badgers are particularly dangerous this time of year. I might need you to save me,” you laughed at your own dramatics and Azriel cut a glance in your direction only for his eyes to catch on your feet.
With two stomps he was next to the bed grabbing your ankles, he pulled you closer to the edge of the bed, earning and excited wooo from your lips before he threw your feet over the side. “No shoes on the bed,” was all he said before he went back to what he was doing, packing his sack with anything he could possibly need for the overnight trip.
You sat up straight and the shadow moved to curl around your neck like a scarf, “Sorry, I forgot that you’re a neat freak.” You were provoking him and he knew it but he still couldn’t help himself.
“I’m not a- I’m not a neat freak, I’m just not dirty,” his tone was meant to be offensive and he felt his anger rising at the fact that you didn’t take any.
“Pfft, says the guy who notices if his knives have been breathed on… you’d hate to see my room,” you seemed to remember the fact as you said it as you leaned over and started pushing around the things on his bed side table. You smiled at your actions as you could already see his reaction in your mind, meanwhile, a shiver when down Azriel spine. He didn’t even want to imagine your bedroom, the thought made his skin crawl. The one time he was tasked with picking you up from your apartment he saw through the crack in your door that you had clothes, shoes, books, and a bunch of random nick-nacks and toys strewn about haphazardly. “And I prefer to use the term messy. Not dirty.”
He was crossing the floor to the closet to grab his night sack when stopped to readjust his night table and he cut you a glare, “Shoes on the bed is dirty,” he gave you a once over before turning to walk in his closet. You made a face at his back before putting your feet on the bed again and kicking it wildly before moving back quickly as he came out. His shadows danced around you amused and you smiled at them. Laying back on your belly you made sure to keep your toes on the floor as you passed secrets back and forth with the shadows, giggling to yourself.
Azriel pulled the sack over a shoulder and looked over at your ass sticking up in the air, his eyes only lingered for a second but one of his shadows whispered to him, smack it, and with that he used all of his willpower to pull the shadows away from their bad influence. You frowned at the lost of your friend but stood up an asked “Ready Azzy baby?”
He frowned at the stupid nickname, he told you a million times not to use it but at this point he wasn’t sure if you even knew his real name. Looking you over clocking your attire he realized you didn’t have any belongings with you other than a small over the shoulder bag and his face morphed into a smirk at the thought of you sleeping on the ground. Your eyes shone at his reaction as he leaned towards you a whispered, “Don’t call me that.”
You shivered at his proximity and said, “Sir yes sir,” he leaned back and you bit your lip as he rounded you and walked toward the door, “I do as I’m told,” your tone was suggestive and his shadows tore from his grip to dance around your waist.
He didn’t turn but you could hear the smirk on his voice, “What if I told you to keep quiet for the rest of the trip?” He knew you would have some quick quip as to why you wouldn’t but alas a boys gotta try.
The suggestiveness lingered as you said, “Well then I might misbehave,” the shadows found your response amusing as they twisted up your torso but Azriel just responded with the shake of his head.
Now here you both were climbing up the Northwood mountains in search of a cave entrance, you had found two already but a quick sniff told you that it didn’t have what you were looking for. The flight was bearable, you didn’t talk much but when you did he would just fly faster so the wind would drown out your voice, you caught on and opted to spend the flight quietly leaning your head on his shoulder.
Being completely honest you liked Azriel but after your first meeting you knew he didn’t like you and never would, so the quips started off as a defense mechanism but you realized his shadows liked you and they seemed to love your teasing and playfulness so you settled for that; it also helped that Az looked so cute when he’s angry.
If Az was being honest he didn’t totally hate you, you were cute and your wit was unmatched but it was so much easier to act uninterested and distant.
At some point during your hike you were asking Az if he had heard the song that had been looping in your head, “Have you ever heard ‘Pl-“ was cut off by a swift no. You rolled your eyes and droned on and on about how you loved it and it was so amazing. You gave him a sample of what the song sounded like but since their wasn’t any lyrics you were just making noises with your mouth, you definitely weren’t doing the song justice and you knew he would find it terribly annoying but you couldn’t help yourself. You were just about to stop when he sent his shadows to muffle your voice and the act alone fueled you conviction so you kept going.
He had to use his entire mental capacity to force his shadows to quiet you, they didn’t want to because for some unholy reason he couldn’t discern, they liked the sound of your voice. They liked you in general but then again you were the only other person in the world who would talk and interact with them.
The mumbling stopped and he thanked the mother herself as he recalled the shadows that were quieting you but when he didn’t hear your footsteps he whipped around to scan the scene. For a brief second he thought with his luck you might have fallen over the side of the mountain, and he questioned whether that would be good luck or bad.
Instead you were face down in the dirt, he almost laughed at you splayed out on the ground like a starfish but stifled it and he walked over and nudged your arm with his foot. You rolled onto your back and stared directly at the sky, “I fell,” you said simply.
He bit back his laugh again, “Yea?”
“I was wondering how long it would take the Spymaster of the night court to notice, turns out 11 seconds.” He looked off into the distance so you wouldn’t see his smile, regaining control he looked back down but he couldn’t hide the amusement in his eye.
He shrugged down at her, “I guess your little friends didn’t see fit to tell me.” You sighed as you held out her hand, Az didn’t put much effort in trying to lift you but when you were dead weight he pulled harder. In that half second that he put all his force into pulling you up you brought your foot to his chest and pushed him over your head causing him to hit the ground with a thud.
You laughed heartily and he just stared at the sky listening to the sound. “Good one,” his voice was flat and that made you laugh harder. Rolling over you propped yourself up with your arms to witness the damage, it was his turn to be splayed like a starfish and you laughed so hard you thought your stomach would bust.
He tilted his head back to catch a glimpse and your smile was so broad he wondered if your cheeks hurt. He turned back to the sky and clocked the myriad of colors that dusted it, he had probably about an hour until sunset. He also propped himself up and scanned his surroundings once again, his shadows read his mind and told him this was as good of a place he would find to make camp. “It’s getting late, we should probably set up camp for the night.”
You moved to sit with your legs crossed and face the man who had his back to you. “Okay! What should I do?” Your not a camper, in fact you’ve never slept outside of a well established shelter with heating and cozy beds. For some reason when Rhys told you the trip would be overnight it didn’t even cross your mind that you would be sleeping outside.
“How about you just sit there and look pretty,” Az said as he got up and dusted himself off. You smiled at that, not only was it as close to a jest as he’s ever gotten but it’s also the closest to a compliment.
“Well I can definitely do that,” you leaned back onto the ground using our arm as cushions as watched the clouds glow as they moved across the painted sky. Azriel got to work, he collected sticks and logs to build a cozy little fire and catching a couple of small rabbits for food. He rummaged through his sack to pull out a pan and a pack of veggies to heat up with the meat before he pulled out his sack and tossed it to the side to unfold later.
When you smelled the food cooking you perked up and moved to crouch next to him and watch; you hadn’t even realized you were hungry until the smell hit. He looked at you out of the side of his eye, you were practically drooling as you stared at the food meant solely for him.
“I take it you didn’t pack any food,” he knew you didn’t, that’s why he caught the extra rabbits, he practically had magical foresight when it came to you. A vision of you begging for some of his food had him laughing to himself as his shadows did the hard work of catching the small creatures.
You purses your lips in thought before, “Oh!” You rummaged through your small bag and pulled out a baggie mixed with nuts, berries, and chocolates. “I brought trail mix, I’ll share if you do,” you sung the last part as you shook the baggie near his face.
He pushed the bag away lightly while shaking his head, “Fine. But I only like the chocolates,” it was a lie, he liked nuts and berries too but he had a feeling the chocolates were your favorite part so he opted to give you a taste of your own medicine. You grunted as you plopped down on your butt and mumbled a fine, whatever mostly to yourself. He smiled knowing you couldn’t see it as he finished cooking.
You two mostly ate in silence other than you offering up random facts about whatever popped in your head like how wombats poop squares or how peanuts can be used to make explosives. Azriel just nodded at whatever you said not admitting out loud what he didn’t know or what he found interesting. He offered you some of his water which turned out to be a mistake as you drank over half of it, he thanked his gift of foresight that told him to pack multiple canteens.
When you guys finished eating you both brushed your teeth with what was left of the water and Azriel was glad you at least packed your toothbrush even though you forgot toothpaste. Twilight was upon you when you finished, he rinsed off the dirty pan with the second canteen and shoved it to the bottom of his bag before rolling out his sleep sack. The corner of his eye caught you watching, awkwardly sat on your hands, lips pursed like you wanted to speak but were holding yourself back.
“Don’t even ask,” he said without looking at you as he slipped off his boots and the top layer of leather to reveal a tight fitted gray long sleeve.
“Oh come on! You don’t even have a second blanket?” When Az shook his head you groaned heavily, he made a slick comment about preparing better for overnight trips and you shook your head as you pulled your knees in close. “I didn’t know we’d be sleeping outside, I guess I assumed we’d have beds out here.”
“Oh yea,” Az said he climbed in, “Most mountains have rooms you can rent out, with heating and plumbing too. This one must just be defective.”
You couldn’t even be mad, he was making jokes, for the first time since you met him. All of your chipping must’ve cracked his icy exterior enough to make him open to shoot quips back at you. You thought about what else you might be able to pull from him as you curled into yourself on the hard ground with only your arm as a pillow.
It didn’t take long for the temperature to drop after the sun was completely gone and with the wind picking up the now small fire wasn’t doing much to help. Azriel couldn’t get to sleep, not with his shadows buzzing in his ear, she’s freezing, her lips are turning blue, she can’t feel her fingers. Not to mention your teeth chattering so hard he thought he would soon hear a crack. He got up and moved over to where you were attempting and failing to sleep and nudges your arm with his foot.
You rolled over to look at him and your lips were in fact tinged with blue, part of him felt bad at the sight as he purposely left his blankets just to spite you. “Go sleep in my sack.”
“Are you sure, what about you?” You sat up and looked at him to make sure he was serious, the light from the moon that shone on his face didn’t illuminate any semblance of a joke.
“I’ll be fine. It’s like you always say, I’m super hot,” you laughed at his words as you quickly moved to his sack.
“Thank you Azzy baby!” You called as you slipped off you shoes and windbreaker before sliding in, it was warm and it smelled like him and you let out a soft moan as you instantly felt warmer.
Az had wrapped his wings around himself in an attempt to make a barrier and the more he sat there the worse he felt for leaving you to the elements. You knew that despite what he said he would be just as freezing as you just were and you debated for a few minutes before speaking.
“You know this sack is big enough for two people,” you knew he was awake but when he didn’t answer you tried again, trying your hardest not to sound like a desperate creep, “I’m just saying, body heat will reduce the amount of heat loss. Survival 101.”
Az was freezing but he sat for a second as he debated whether or not to climb into that sack, how annoying could you be in your sleep? When a gust of wind blew against his back he just said screw it and silently made his way to you. He kicked off the untied boots before climbing in with you.
You kept your self from immediately scooting towards his warmth and let him get comfortable first. In a true gentlemanly fashion he offered his arm as a pillow and you silently swooned as you accepted it, he also brought he wing down over your body and it acted like a second blanket. Snaking your arms around his waist you tangled your legs with his and to your suprise he never stoped you or pulled away, in fact his other arm was secured around your middle. With his warmth and his smell shrouding you, you fell asleep quick and easy, much better than any bed.
Az didn’t sleep so easy, your body pressed to him was indeed keeping him warm but he wasn’t used to sleeping with someone like this. He had his share of lovers but he was never a cuddler and it didn’t help that you moved around a lot in your sleep, kicking him occasionally. With the moon higher above your heads he looked down at your sleeping face.
Though you still were finding a way to annoy him in your sleep, your state had him softening. Your skin looked so soft and pristine in the light from the moon and the hair pooled around your head glowed like a halo. You plump lips were slightly parted and you produced a light snore that had Az smiling to himself. He brought a scarred hand to caress the skin on your cheek while the arm that you layed on bent so he could twirled your hair, you let out a happy moan at the contact and he smiled as his hand took on a mind of its on. Trailing you from your cheek to your jaw, down the column of your neck and back up to swipe the soft skin of your lips.
You shifted and turned, he brought his hand back afraid he woke you, but when you just nuzzled your face deep into his chest he felt his heart jump. You inhaled his scent deeply and that seemed to settle your restlessness, his jumping heart felt a tug and he froze for a second. Looking down at you he couldn’t believe it, he felt around his heart and it wasn’t snapped but he was sure it was there.
“No,” he breathed as he looked at you wrapped around his body, “no way.” His shadows seemed excited by the revelation as they chanted yes, yes, yes, like they already knew. He wondered if the bond snapped for you already and that’s what you had been whispering to his shadows about, the thought made him shiver. He had been so cold and distasteful, you were a good fae and deserved better than that, you deserved a male who laughed at every stupid joke.
You registered his shiver in your sleep pulling him tighter to you and the simple thoughtless action made his eyes prickle. He held you tightly, memorizing the way your bodies fit together like puzzle pieces. He held back his tears by inhaling your scent of honeysuckle and roasted wood, with a gentle kiss on your brow he closed his eyes and promised his nosey shadows that he would be nice tomorrow.
-
Az was still asleep when you woke up, you didn’t want to move and even if you did you were trapped by his strong arm and wing. But you were content to stay like this forever, gazing up at his sleeping face. His tan skin was smooth and his nose and cheekbones were decorated with freckles, you brought your hand up to hover over his face, ghosting over the lines and ridges. His hair was tousled from sleep, falling like dominoes across his forehead and his plump lips were pouting . You let out a deep sigh as you pulled your hand back, why do you torture yourself this way. You wiggled around attempting to move away from him but your efforts were futile when his arm pulled you tighter to his body, he grunted as he turned his head to nuzzle into your hair.
Your stomach was doing flips at the action and you had to remind yourself he was asleep, the action was subconscious. You pulled your head back and laid your face inches from his and watched him breathe. His long eyelashes fluttered open and the first thing his golden eyes caught was you, the faint ghost of a smile touched his lips as his eyes roamed over your face. You smiled bright at him, “Good morning shadowsinger, is that a breakfast sausage in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?”
For the first time since you met him he chuckled lowly as he rolled on his back and stretched his arms behind his and, “aaand you ruined it.” You laughed as he watched you from the corner of his eyes and you sat up to looked directly at him. He must be in a good mood because he wasn’t scowling at you, in fact his face had an ease you’d never seen, he was positively yummy in his sleepy daze.
“My bad,” it was your turn to stretch since you were finally free from his iron grasp though his wing stayed splayed across your legs, “didn’t know there was anything to ruin.”
Az brought his fingers up to grab the ends of your hair, mindlessly twirling it around his fingers while you did the same to his shadows that excitedly came to greet you, “Your actually bareable when you sleep, you don’t talk and ruin it.” He meant his word as a joke but something clicked for you. Azriel is quiet and calm, he would probably prefer someone like him, maybe if you weren’t always badgering him for attention he could reciprocate your feelings. “Except for the fact that you’re a kicker.”
You laughed as his shadows danced away and you leaned back against your hand to look at his face again “Yea I probably should have warned you, my sisters refuse to share a bed with me for that exact reason.” When he didn’t look away or move your turned your attention back to your hands, the softness in his eyes was too much and you worried for your conviction. You reached out a finger to dance across the top of his wing which instantly retracted at your touch. He grunted as he moved to sit up, “Im sorry, I didn’t- I shouldn’t have-“
“Its fine,” He shook his head as he pushed the top of the sack off his body and made a move for his shoes, “I just don’t want to hear any more breakfast sausage jokes.” He smirked over his shoulder and you blushed at his suggestive tone, only able to nod as you noted the sensitivity of Illyrian wings. You pushed yourself up and grabbed your shoes as well before getting ready to hike again.
When your teeth were brushed, hair tied, and you finished reliving yourself Az had successfully packed up the rest of the camp as stood waiting for you. You began your hike and this time you remembered to keep your mouth shut, no suggestive jokes, no terrible singing, and no random facts. Just silence as you found another cave that didn’t have the distinct smell you were looking for. “I think we need to be higher up,” You said as you craned your neck to look up the mighty mountain that still lied ahead, “You could fly us up there and we could work our way down.”
He adjusting the sack on his shoulder and looked at you like you had a secret he was trying to figure out, after a few seconds of you shifting under his gaze he spoke, “Its fine,” he followed you eyes up the mountain, “I don’t mind walking.”
“Well I do,” you huffed walking up to him and wrapping your arms around his shoulder as you willed yourself to keep your eyes on the mountain, “my feet are killing me and I’d rather have a real bed tonight.” You didn’t mean for the first time you spoke since this morning to have a bite to it but you couldn’t help it, forcing yourself to shut up all day was like shaking up a beehive and then telling them they have to remain calm. You were buzzing under the surface but you hoped he would write it off as crankiness. Az got the message and just nodded, he scooped up your legs and shot into the air. You watched his powerful wings that your fingers itched to touch, instead you pressed your mouth to his shoulder and watched silently.
He landed near the top where the safe part of the trail ended and when he started walking without putting you down you pulled back to look at him, “You can put me down now.” He smirked at your words and tossed you up slightly to readjust you tighter against him.
“You don’t want to walk, I don’t mind walking,” he shrugged against you and you wanted to say ‘if you like me just say that’ but you bit your tongue as you were determined not to be annoying today. You just shook your head and put your mouth back to his shoulder, watching the sky over his back. “What? No comment?” When you shook your head he chuckled airily, “Must be my lucky day,” you could hear the smile in his voice and you just closed your eyes shaking your head lightly.
Az had tried to talk to you a couple times, recalling random facts you’ve told him or telling you his own. Each time you would either have a short response or just hum, channeling him and the way he reacted to you. You figured whatever your doing must’ve been working as he seemed much lighter and happier today, that hurt a deep part of you.
Az knew there was something wrong, you weren’t you, but he figured you must’ve been tired or cranky from the uncomfortable sleeping situation and all the walking. You were a scholar used to plushy couches and central air, you were totally out of your element. He eventually stopped trying so hard to get you to talk, he wanted to be good to you and that included reading the signs and not prying.
Eventually he came across a cave and when you hopped out of his arms and smelled the inside you were hit with the smell of rotten milk, you were in the right place. You beckoned him and as soon as he stepped in he started waving his hand in front of his nose, “Wooo, smells like Cass after too much dairy.” You bit your lip to hide your chuckle as you continued deeper into the cave, “Oh come on, that’s totally something you would say, I don’t even get a chuckle?”
Without turning around you just said “Ha ha,” in as stale of a voice you could muster, “Your almost as funny as me.”
Az’s small laugh echoed off the cave and your stomach turned as you memorized the formula; don’t speak too much, make jokes when prompted, keep a cool demeanor like him. “There she is,” he mused, and before he could go on you spoke.
“And there it is,” the smell was so pungent it was like the glass of toxic milk was right under your nose. You pointed up and thought a small whole in the ceiling there was sparkling lights shining through. Marestone despite its awful smell had a beautiful luminosity and many applications, it was embude I’m most magical technology as well as cured to be used in different medicines. The potent material would last for years as a single rock could be split between a hundred different uses.
“Give me a boost,” you said putting your hand on his shoulder and lifting your leg for him, he just looked at you dumbly.
“I’m not sending you up there,” he shook his head and moved your hand.
“Well your not gonna fit,” when he cut you a look your raised your hands defensively, you both knew it was true. There’s no way the big Illyrian warrior with the mega wingspan was fitting through that hole.
“Okay and what happens when you fall? Or the integrity of the cave gives out under you?” He put his hands on his hips in a mock attempt to show sincerity and you matched his movement.
“Ye of little faith,” you said wagging a finger, he just smiled. “Are you trying to extend this trip by another day? They grow on the ceiling, it’ll take forever to find another cave with rocks lower down.”
He just shrugged, “Okay,” he turned to walk away and your attempt to stay cool was thwarted when you groaned loudly.
“Fine, if you won’t help me up I’ll find my own way,” you started pawing at the cave wall, trying to find any wholes or cracks you could use to pull yourself up.
“Okay okay, with my luck you’ll kill yourself trying,” he came over and put his hands on your waist as he guided you away from the cave wall and easily lifted you up towards the whole. When that didn’t work he sat you on his shoulder before lifting you again at the knees, you stretched to reach through the whole and hoisted yourself up, sitting on the edge you had your feet dangling down towards Azriel who kept a hand on your ankle and watched from below.
You pulled out one of the four sealed canister and began pulling the soft rock out of the ceiling and filling it up. It didn’t take long to fill up the first, second, and third canister. The fourth is where you ran into trouble, you’d grabbed all the stone close to you so the rest was slightly out of reach. You pulled your ankle out of Azriel grasp and placed in on the other side of the hole as you stretched your body to reach the stones.
The canister was nearly full when your foot slid, “Are you okay? Can you reach it?” You called out letting him know you were fine and almost done, you moved to grab the last bit you could see when your foot slipped completely and the force dragged your body out of the whole.
Like the knight in shining armor he his Az caught you before you could hit the floor, clutching the glowing canister to your chest you stared up at him in awe. Sure, he would’ve caught anyone that fell but the way his arms were tight around you and his breathing ragged as he searched your face had your heart lurching.
When he caught you it snapped fully for him, you were his mate and there was no denying it. He felt like time slowed and all he could do was stare at your face, memorizing everything he missed before. He pulled on the bond and felt it was one sided and that caused his heart to surge, all of your flirting was because you wanted to and not because of a premature snapping of the bond.
Clearing your throat you jumped out of his arms and dusted yourself off before tucking the canister away. You mumbled your thanks before moving to the exit of the cave.
“Thanks?” He said genuinely sounding confused as he followed you, “No swooning and calling me ‘your hero,’” mocking your voice on the last part which earned him a scoff from you.
“I do know how to be serious Azriel”
“Yea but why would you want to? And since when do you use my real name?”
“Because I don’t want to make this trip miserable for you, and that was a stupid nickname anyway.” You squinted and used your hand as a shield when you stepped back in the sun, Az on your heels.
“Miser- what are you talking about?” He grabbed your wrist and turned you around to face him but you couldn’t meet his eyes so you just shook your head and looked down.
“Nothing, it’s- it’s nothing at all,” you tried to pull your wrist back but his grip was like iron. Your breath hitched when an unexpected and gentle hand traced your jaw and stopped at your chin, lifting your head up and bringing your eyes to his golden ones.
“If it’s making you upset then it’s not nothing,” his hand slipped to cup your cheek and your delusion allowed you to lean into the touch, reveling in its warmth. Your eyes fluttered closed and for a blissful second you let yourself believe he cared, “Talk to me baby.”
The pet name had your eyes flying open and suddenly the spell was broken, you pulled his hand away and pushed him back. The hope his simple actions had given you had you biting back tears, “Don’t call me baby. I’m not a child that needs coddling,” you spat out your words like poison on your tongue
“No I’m not-“ he tried to step forward but you matched him with a step back.
“I know Azriel, I know you don’t like me. I know you find me unbearable and annoying. I know you can never like me for who I truly am,” the tears were getting harder to push back, “Today when I acted different you seemed so much happier but that hurts more- it hurts more than your cold glares because I like you. Every since I met you all I’ve wanted is to make you laugh but-“ you were cut off by your own hiccup and your balled fist came up to wipe your tears but his shadows beat you to it.
Like a flash of lightning he was on you, cupping your cheeks and staring with wide, scared eyes. “No, no, no,” his words were soft when he tilted his forehead down to meet yours, your hands instinctively tried to pull on his wrists but he held true.
“Baby,” his low voice called to you and you closed your eyes tight as more tears fell, “Baby please don’t cry. I’m sorry, this is all my fault.” Your eyes opened again when his voice cracked and you could see he had his own tears he was fighting to keep at bay. You never thought you would see him look so sad, so broken.
“I was so mean to you, I tried to block you out and push you away because you’re everything I’m not. Your bright and fun and so damn happy, I couldn’t figure out what you saw in me and the fact that you even liked me so brazenly made me hate you- but not because of you or who you are but because of me and all of the shit I’ve spent centuries running from.
“You are not the one who has to change, I am. I’m so so sorry I ever made you feel like the real you wasn’t good enough, it’s so much more than enough. I’ll spend forever proving it to you.”
Tears were still clouding your vision so you blinked quickly to let them fall before you brought your hands to his face, moving your head back so you could inspect him. He was serious, and that made your heart jump like it was trying to leave your chest and fly into his. You just shook your head when you brought his lips down to yours.
It was like throwing fresh meat to starving lions, the originally soft kiss dissolved into a mess of frenzied passion and primal hunger. His hand tangled into your hair pulling your head in while the other pressed your bodies together firmly before tracking the curves of your body. Your hands were just as wild as they moved between pulling the hair on his nape to clawing his shoulders and neck. When his tongue darted out to swipe across your bottom lip, it snapped.
You flew back out of his grasp and stared as your one hand felt the lips that were now swollen and the other was on your heart that was now being pulled towards the man in front of you- to your mate. Azriel was your mate. You almost didn’t believe it, tugging on the bond to make sure it was real. A laugh left your lips when he tugged back, twice. Stepping back into his arms you kissed him again, slower this time as you memorized the way your lips molded together.
“You’re my mate,” you said breathlessly when you finally pulled away. He smiled down and nodded, you were grinning like a kid in a candy store. From the moment you met him he was all you ever wanted and now you could feel the bond that tied your hearts together, the string that always pulled you to him even before you knew of its existence. You wished you could find the mother and thank her personally for the blessing that was looking down at you with pure unbridled love and sending his feelings of adoration down the bond.
“That is if you’ll have me,” his arms circled your waist and his nose moved to the column of your neck, brushing up and down as he breathed you deep into his lungs. He hummed lightly before going on, “Can you forgive me for being such an asshole?”
You smiled to yourself, “I don’t know Azzy baby, I think you’re going to have to make it up to me.” A playful growl bubbled up as he lightly nipped your throat, earning him a surprised yelp.
You ended up feeding him some of the trail mix you made and the frenzy kicked in at your newly accepted bond. It’s safe to say you two didn’t make it home that night, or any night for the next month as you basked in the joys of being mated.
A/N: AHHHHHHHHHH my first fic😭
It felt a little rushed and slightly juvenile but I had so much fun writing her. I hope if you enjoyed it and if you hated it… no you didn’t tf?

YOU WOKE UP IN THEODORE NOTT'S BED, the soft morning light filtering through the curtains of his dorm room. His room was a comfortable mess, with books and clothes scattered around, and the faint scent of cologne lingering in the air.
You sat up stretching, feeling the warmth of the blanket cocooned around you, and glanced at Theodore, who was still half-asleep beside you.
"Y/n, come on, stay a bit longer," Theo mumbled, his voice husky with sleep as he reached out to pull you back into the warmth of the bed. His eyes, heavy with sleep, pleaded with you to stay.
You chuckled softly, shaking your head. "I can't, Theo. It's Sunday so I need to complete my Transfiguration paper."
He groaned, rubbing his eyes as he sat up, his messy hair adding to his disheveled charm. "You always leave early in the morning. Can't you take one day off and cuddle?"
Your heart fluttered at the thought of spending the day wrapped in Theo's arms, but you knew you couldn't afford to slack off. "I wish I could," you replied, swinging your legs over the side of the bed and standing up. "But if I don't finish this paper, McGonagall will have my head."
Theo smirked, watching you as you searched for your shoes amidst the clutter of his room. "You know, most people would kill for an excuse to stay in bed longer. Especially with me."
You rolled your eyes playfully, finally finding your shoes and slipping them on. "Nice try, Nott."
He sighed dramatically, leaning back against his pillows, the morning sunlight casting a golden glow on his features. "Fine. But you're going to Draco's dorm to hang out later, right?"
You smiled, grabbing your robe and heading towards the door. "Of course. I'll see you later, Theo. Try not to miss me too much."
He laughed, throwing a pillow in your direction as you left his room. The cool air of the dungeon corridors greeted you as you made your way back to your own dorm, a contented smile lingering on your lips.

Later that night, all of your friends decided to drink, but after running out of alcohol, you and Mattheo offered to go get some more. Thankfully, the Weasley twins owed you a favor, and they had some leftover liquor from the last Gryffindor party.
Although both of you were tipsy, making the entire journey humorous, you were sober enough to navigate the dark corridors.
"Matt, stop, you're going to wake up the entire floor!" you shushed Mattheo’s laughter as you walked up the stairs to the dorms.
“All right, all right,” Mattheo whispered back, his voice still carrying a hint of amusement. He was holding the crate full of bottles, which were making noises with every lousy step.
As you approached Draco’s dorm, you slowed your steps, Mattheo following suit. The low murmur of voices from inside caught your attention.
“What do you think they're talking about?” you whispered to Mattheo.
Mattheo's eyes gleamed mischievously. “Let's find out.”
You nodded, turning Draco's door knob quietly to open the door. When the door had a small crack, you both inched closer to the hole, trying to listen in without being noticed.
“So, when are you confessing to Y/n?” Blaise's voice rang out, breaking the quietude of the hallway.
“I’m tired of listening to how you're going to ask her out, then never have the guts to actually do it,” Blaise continued, his tone laced with amusement.
The mention of your name made you hold your breath and you felt Mattheo tense from beside you. In your best friend's head, you weren't supposed to find out this way.
“I agree with Blaise,” Lorenzo chimed in. “Just go on and ask her out already.”
Then came Pansy's voice, her tone teasing. “I can't believe you've fallen for your friends with benefits.”
Theodore Nott likes you?
"I heard Diggory is planning on asking her out this week. If you're serious about her, you should make a move before him."
Theodore sat in silence at Draco's comment, the gears in your head turning like clockwork.
You stole a glance at Mattheo, the new information soaking in. He smirked at your clueless face before he stood up straightening his back and had you do the same.
“We’re back with more bottles! Who’s ready to drink more?” Mattheo walked inside the dorm to set the crate down.
You felt yourself sobering up as you stood by the door, still taken back at the new information. Eventually, you stepped in, closing the door behind you, the open spot next to Theodore reserved for you.
When you sat in your old seat, Theodore’s arm snaked around your waist, placing his head on your shoulder. He placed his hand on your thigh, joining in the new topic that your friends were discussing.
The night continued as if nothing had changed, but the knowledge of Theodore's feelings weighed heavily on your mind.
You laughed along with your friends and enjoyed the drinks but you couldn't help calculate to all of Theodore’s touch, as it felt more meaningful.
Tumblr media
The next day, you woke up with a knot of nerves in your stomach. You had Potions class with Mattheo, and you were determined to ask him for confirmation about Theodore. You’d had a crush on Theo for years, and the uncertainty was driving you crazy.
As you walked to the dungeons, you noticed the familiar hustle and bustle of students making their way to class. The cool air and the stone walls of Hogwarts offered little comfort as you navigated through the corridors, your thoughts consumed by the conversation from last night.
When you entered the classroom, you spotted Mattheo setting up your workstation. He glanced up and offered you a small smile, but you could tell that he sensed something was bothering you.
Professor Snape swept into the room, his presence commanding attention. "Today, you will be brewing Veritaserum," he announced, his voice cutting through the quiet chatter of the students.
After a brief reminder of when the potion was due, the classroom erupted into activity as students gathered ingredients and prepared their cauldrons.
You and Mattheo worked side by side, but your mind was elsewhere, the events from last night playing on a loop in your head.
About halfway through the class, as you waited for a potion to simmer, the room filled with the low hum of conversations. Seizing the opportunity, you turned to Mattheo, the anticipation of the previous night's revelations still weighing heavily on your mind.
"Matt," you began quietly, your voice barely above a whisper, the words feeling heavy on your tongue. You glanced around to make sure no one else was listening, the tension palpable in the air.
"What's up, Y/n?" Mattheo replied, his voice barely audible over the gentle bubbling of the cauldrons. He looked at you expectantly, his eyes filled with curiosity.
"Last night, when we overheard the conversation in Draco's dorm... about Theo," you said, the words tumbling out in a rush, the weight of the revelation pressing down on you.
Mattheo's face softened, a knowing look in his eyes as he nodded in understanding. "Yeah, it's true. Theo's fancied you for a while now. You weren’t supposed to find out that way, he’s been wanting to confess. He just hasn't had the guts to say anything."
You sighed in relief and frustration, the words hanging in the air like a heavy fog. "I really like him too, but I don't know what to do. I feel like I'm just waiting for him to make a move but it’ll take forever."
Mattheo smiled sympathetically, his expression filled with understanding. "Sometimes, you just have to be patient. Theo will come around. He's just... not good at expressing his feelings."
His words offered some comfort and you forced yourself to focus on the potion in front of you, but your mind was still consumed by thoughts of Theodore.

After classes finished, you were sitting by the Black Lake, enjoying the warm weather and the rare moment of peace. The sky was clear, and the gentle breeze made the day perfect for a relaxing break.
You noticed Cedric Diggory standing nearby, looking like he wanted to approach you. He caught your eye and walked over with a friendly smile.
"Hey, Y/n," he greeted, standing beside you. "I've been meaning to ask you something." You smiled back, though your mind instantly recalled Draco's words the other night
"What's up, Cedric?"
"Well," Cedric began, rubbing the back of his neck, "I was wondering if you'd like to go to Hogsmeade with me this weekend?"
From a distance, Theodore saw you talking to Cedric. His heart sank as he saw Cedric leaning in, seemingly asking you something important.
He couldn't hear the conversation, but he could see the serious expressions on both of your faces. Panic surged through him as he rushed over, hoping it wasn’t too late.
Theodore left Pansy and Draco's side, their faces confused at his sudden departure. It was when they saw that you were with Cedric, that the two smirked with knowing looks.
As Theodore got closer, Cedric smiled at you one last time before walking away, leaving you alone. Theodore reached you just as Cedric was disappearing from view.
"Y/n," Theo said, slightly out of breath, "Can I talk to you for a second?" You looked up at him, your heart skipping a beat.
"Of course, Theo." He took a deep breath, gathering his courage. "I saw you talking to Cedric, and I don't know if I'm too late but I need to tell you something. I’ve fancied you for a long time, and I’ve been too scared to say anything. I know we're already seeing each other for other reasons, but I fell for you hard."
You couldn’t help but laugh softly, causing Theo to look at you in confusion.
"What's so funny?" You shook your head, a smile playing on your lips.
"Theo, I overheard everything last night. I know that you like me. And just now, when Cedric asked me out, I told him I fancied someone else."
Theodore’s eyes widened in surprise. "You did? Who?" You took a step closer, your eyes meeting his with a warmth that made his heart race.
"It’s you, Theo. I’ve been waiting for you to finally ask me out." A look of relief and joy spread across Theodore’s face.
"Really? You like me?" You nodded, smiling up at him.
"Yes, really." He let out a breath he seemed to have been holding.
"So, how about we make this the start of something new? No more friends with benefits, but an actual relationship?" You squeezed his hands, feeling the warmth and sincerity in his words.
"I’d like that very much." As you both sat down by the lake, hand in hand, you realized that the waiting was over.
Your message has been received.

Our own
Pairing: Joel Miller x reader
Summary: After spending the day with Tommy and Maria, you can’t help but notice how great Joel is with their baby, and a thought sparks your mind.
Listen I’m not gonna sit here and pretend I proofread this ok? I'm an honest woman. You may forgive me or not, either way, I'm going to sleep. Bye loves
Tumblr media
The sun was high in the sky, birds were chirping, a soft breeze was flowing through your hair... and Tommy was taking his goddamn time opening the goddamn door.
"I told you you should have gone to the bathroom when we left" Joel chuckled by your side
"Now's really not the time Jo-"
Your next words got stuck in your throat as the sound of the lock opening caught your attention.
"Hey guys, I'm sorry the bab-"
"don't worry" you immediately stopped him, feeling your bladder about to burst "Could I use your bathroom?"
He did a poor job of concealing his surprise.
"Uh-Yea sure, it's right up there on the-"
You flew past him, only half minding where his finger was pointing.
"left" he mumbled, an amused smile creeping on his lips as he let his gaze travel to his brother
Joel shrugged, a similar grin tugging at his own lips "I told her to go before we went out"
__ __ __
You walked out of the bathroom feeling like a brand new woman, ready to face whatever life threw at you, which in this case... was following the sound of laughter coming from the backyard.
What appeared on the other side of the window, was a perfect portrait of a happy family.
Tommy and Maria's smiles were brighter than any star in the sky as they watched Eithan, their baby boy, cradled in Joel's arms, looking almost comically small next to his biceps.
And Joel... Joel had a look on his face you had never quite seen. It wasn't just joy, or adoration... there was something in his eyes, in the way his mouth twitched as the baby's small hands reached for his nose, as he caressed his cheek and willed his hands to act as if he were touching porcelain.
You could not put a finger on what it was, but you couldn't either understand what was happening to you.
A warmth had taken over your chest, cheeks... your entire body. And something was fluttering in your belly, it wasn't butterflies no, it was more like- like bunnies, countless little bunnies hopping in your stomach and twisting and turning your insides.
It was perhaps the first time in your life your body had understood something before you could.
A wave brought you back to reality, to life, to the portrait before your eyes.
It was Maria, Maria was waving at you to come out with them, so, of course, you did, begging your legs not to give up on you as the same strange sensation threatened your every step.
"hey" You managed "Sorry for before"
"don't even bother, I'm used to it by now" Tommy huffed out a laugh, nudging Maria by his side
She rolled her eyes dramatically, her mouth betraying her as its edges turned up.
"Ignore him," she said, "please sit, I've been dying to talk to another human being without having to use a baby voice"
You snorted, taking your place next to Joel at the round wooden table.
"That bad huh?"
"God you have no idea..."
Maria went on to talk, about Eithan about... something, but your attention had moved elsewhere by the time she was done with the first sentence.
You watched Joel softly rocking the baby, the smile on his face, the glint in his eyes, and you couldn't help but think
God, how I wish it was our own
__ __ __
"Are you ok darlin'?"
Joel's voice startled you enough to make you gasp.
You had been in your own head for so long that you hadn't even realized you had walked all the way home.
"yeah, why?"
"you've just been real quiet, 's all"
he shrugged, closing the front door behind him.
"I'm fine- Everything's fine," you said a bit too quickly, walking to the kitchen while purposely avoiding his eyes
The footsteps behind you told you he hadn't taken the hint, and was following you.
"what's going on?"
You reached for a glass and filled it up to the brim only to realize you weren't even a little bit thirsty.
"nothing" you mumbled, setting the glass on the counter and finally meeting his scrutinizing gaze "It's nothing" you shook your head
"sweetheart..." he walked until he stood in front of you "Whatever it is you can tell me, y'know?"
Your mouth opened and closed but no sound had come out.
"I just-" you bit your bottom lip "it's nothing, really, it's stupid"
A soft smirk rose from his lips "Now that I don't believe, nothing stupid has ever come out of that petty mouth" One of his rough fingers went to trace your cupid bow "C'mon now, darlin' what is it?"
"I-" you tried, before retracing immidately "You have to promise not to laugh, or freak out... or do anything that isn't reacting calmly"
He couldn't help the frown creasing his forehead "I promise" he swore nonetheless.
"Ok" you took a small breath.
This wasn't gonna be easy, not with his past, not with everything he had to endure, not with him.
"I-I watched you today with Eithan, and-well-I-" You shut your eyes, unable to take more of his big brown eyes boring into yours
"What, sugar?"
"Well, it- it made me think"
Something flashed behind his eyes
"About what?"
You swallowed the sand in your mouth "About how great of a dad you'd be" you murmured "to our own child"
Now was his turn to be at a loss for words.
He looked at you, so many thoughts, memories, and fears swirling in his mind that he could have fainted, if it wasn't of course, for you, for the expression on your face, for the hope and anxiety painting your every perfect inch.
It was a mess, his brain was a mess, everything was a mess, and yet he'd never felt more sure.
he should have been scared, terrified even, but all he could feel was joy.
"I know it's crazy" you spoke "With what's going on and everything... and I know we already have Ellie in a way... and I know it must be difficult because of what happened to Sarah, and it's completely ok if you don't want to, I understand, really, so please don't feel pressured to-"
"sweetheart"
one word was all it took for him to stop your rambling.
You looked up at him, catching your reflection in the hazel pool of his eyes.
"yes?"
"There is nothing more I'd love in this world than to have a baby with you"
"a-are you sure, b-because as I sai-"
He chuckled, his forehead falling to yours and his hands holding your face.
"darlin'" he paused, a smile on his lips "believe me, I don't think I've ever been more sure of anything in my life"
A breath got caught in your throat as fireworks went off somewhere in your brain.
"Yeah?" was all you could master
"yeah" he laughed, his lips meeting yours in a mess of tears, teeths and laughters "We're gonna have a baby"

Tyler Owens x rich!fem!reader
cw: MDNI (18+) smut (p in v) unprotected sex (wrap is before you smack it) dom!Tyler, dom!reader fingering, reader and Tyler smoke a joint, cockwarming, oral (f receiving) nipple play
Tyler had never been a huge fan of you. From the moment he laid eyes on you, he just knew that the two of you weren’t going to get along. You had come from money whereas he had made his and he didn’t like that you had never worked a day in your life to achieve with what you had.
He watched you move around town in your designer clothing and handbags and the thing was that you were nice. You were sweet, not even close to the stuck up girl Tyler thought you to be. He always knew rich people to be rude and always on a high horse, but that wasn’t like you in the slightest.
And you were hot. So hot that it was unfair. And Tyler hated that he wanted you. Badly. You were nothing like the kind of woman he was into, but that was what he liked about you.
You were also from the city. A friend that Kate had made when she lived in New York. And if she liked you, surely you had to be good company, right? Tyler wouldn’t have known because he always seemed to leave the room when you entered it. And it wasn’t because he didn’t want to talk to you. God, did he want to talk to you. But it was because he couldn’t stop looking at you.
Anytime he watched you, he couldn’t help but look at your mouth, wondering what your lips tasted like. They always had a pretty sheen to them because of your lip gloss and he couldn’t help but notice that you seemed to nibble on your bottom one often.
He found himself wanting to pull it from your teeth and have a taste from himself, wanting to know if your lips were as soft as they looked. The thought was plaguing him, driving him absolutely made. But he’d never do it. He felt like he wasn’t deserving of it. Especially with the harsh words he had said to you.
You didn’t like Tyler either and found yourself in the same predicament, wanting to kiss him absolutely stupid until you both needed to come up for air. You wanted to stick your tongue into his mouth, desperate to know what he tasted like. Probably like the cigarettes he always smoked and the gum he chewed to cover it up.
“Y/n?” Kate called your name, but you still weren’t listening. “Y/n, hello.” She waved her hand in front of your face, but you still seemed to be off in your own little world, staring at Tyler who seemed to be totally oblivious.
“Hm?” You asked, finally turning back to her and she couldn’t help but let out a laugh.
“Can’t stop staring at the cowboy, can you?”
“He’s not a cowboy,” you rolled your eyes. “And I wasn’t staring.”
“Oh, sorry, ogling,” she corrected with a roll of her eyes.
“I wasn’t ogling either.”
“I say you go for it,” she said, turning back to Tyler, but he seemed to already have his eyes on you.
“Go for what?” Surely she couldn't have been talking about what she thought you were.
“Tyler," she replied as if it were obvious and you didn't like what she was implying. You and Tyler? Sure, maybe if he was the last man on earth and vibrators ceased to exist.
“No way.”
“Why not? He’s sweet.” Sweet? Was she forgetting the endless names that man had called you since you had come into town? You had kept a tally in your phone to keep track.
“That is not the word I would use to describe him.”
“Then what would you use?” Boone asked as he draped an arm over your shoulder. “Dreamy?” He asked with a dramatic sigh.
“Cocky,” you corrected, turning to him. “He's a womanizer. A whore.”
“Shit, darlin’” you heard a voice from behind you and cringed. “If I was a womanizer, I definitely wouldn’t be going home alone right now.”
You turned around to see Tyler putting on his jacket, preparing to head out. He shot you a wink then stuffed hands in his pockets before heading towards the front door. Before you could stop yourself, you were following him, letting your heels stomp against the hardwood as you headed to the foyer.
"Hang on a second," you said as you slipped on your jacket and followed Tyler out the door. He bounded down the steps of the front porch and you weren't able to keep up as you tried not to stumble. But you finally caught up to him, determined to follow him wherever he was going.
"Oh, I'm sorry, were you talking to me?" He asked as you fell into step with him.
"Yes! Who else would I be talking to?"
"Well forgive me if I find it a little weird that you're chasing me."
"I want to talk to you."
"About what?" He asked, then his eyes fell to your shoes. "I'm honestly surprised that you can walk in those." He then turned back and continued down the street.
He was getting away and was walking too fast for you to keep up. You looked around, trying to find a way to get his attention and then it hit you. You quickly threw yourself onto the sidewalk with a loud thud, landing on your ass and clutching your ankle. As you went down, you let out a yelp, making sure that it was loud enough for Tyler to hear.
He stopped in his tracks and as soon as he saw that you were hurt, he rushed to you, crouching in front of you to see what was wrong. His face flashed with worry and you were sure that you had never seen him look at you like that before.
His eyebrows were knit together and his hands hovered over yours, almost as if he had been afraid to touch you. And he was. He knew that if he did touch you, he wouldn't be able to stop. He wanted to run his hands up your smooth looking thighs and to grab onto your hips as he pumped his cock in and out of you as you cried for him to go harder.
"What's going on? What's wrong?" He asked, his tone laced with concern.
"It's my ankle," you said, trying your best to make it sound like you were on the verge of tears. Maybe it was mean to make him worry like that, but you were just wanting to see just how capable he was of caring for you. Clearly a lot.
"Here, let me see," he moved his hands towards the zipper of your boot and you couldn't hold back your laughs anymore. You had him right where you wanted him and it was intriguing to see how quick he was to abandon all of his dislike for you when he saw you in a vulnerable position.
"I was just fucking with you," you laughed, maybe a bit too hard and Tyler didn't even have it in himself to be upset because you were just so damn cute.
"That's real mean, Manhattan," he shook his head. "But I'll let it slide because you're cute. Now let me help you." You didn't miss that comment and let him pull down the zipper of each boot and he carefully pulled them off your feet. You had no trouble walking in them, but you appreciated that he cared about you enough to want you not to wear them.
Tyler held out his hand for you and you reluctantly took it as he helped you to your feet, neither of you letting go as you continued down the street. His was rough and warm, just like you hoped it would have been and you couldn't help but wonder what it would have felt like to have it between-
"Do you want a drink?" He asked, letting his hand slip from yours as he stepped up the porch to his house. You did want a drink. You really needed one in order to be around him and not want to stick your tongue down his throat.
"I'd love one," you nodded as he took his keys out of his pocket and unlocked the door. "What do you have?"
"Beer, some white wine, and I think I have some tequila if you want to do shots."
"I could go for a shot," you nodded. That sounded really good at the moment. Tyler unlocked the door and opened it before stepping to the side, letting you go in first. You looked around the place, deciding that it looked exactly like you thought it would. Not that you were imagining what his house looked like.
You honestly never thought you'd be in that situation since you always seemed to be at each other's throats, but it seemed that the alcohol had mellowed the both of you out.
You turned to him and watched as he grabbed a couple of shot glasses from the cabinet above him and took the opportunity to stare at his ass that his jeans hugged, almost liket they were made for him personally.
You sat on one of the stools at the island and set your purse in front of you, wondering what alternate dimension you had entered considering that you were actually in Tyler Owens's house, about to have take a shot with him.
"It's tequila," he said, pulling you out of your thoughts, holding the glass out to you. He then rounded the island, standing in front of you, looking he walked straight out of a cowboy romance with his ridiculous hat and cowboy boots that should not looked as hot on him as they did.
"Thank you," you nodded at him and he stepped closer as he held his glass closer to you. You could smell the cologne that wafted off him and felt like that was making you feel drunk because of how good it smelled. It was woodsy and musky, a great mix with the cigarettes he had been smoking.
"Sure," he nodded. "What should we cheers to?"
"Um," you thought about it. "I don't know. Do we have to cheers to anything?"
"I guess not," he shrugged and the two of you clinked your glasses together before downing the shots, both making faces of discomfort as it burned all the way down. He then reached into the pocket of his jacket and pulled out what looked like a joint, something you weren't aware that he smoked, but then again, you didn't really know anything about him.
"Wanna smoke?" He asked and your mind suddenly betrayed you, images of you shotgunning from him plaguing your mind. The shotgunning suddenly would turn into kissing, the slow, but filthy kind as your tongues tangled together. He'd then push up your shirt to undo your bra and he'd fuck you senseless right there on the island, making you cry for him.
"Sure," you nodded. "But can we shotgun it? I think that will be easier for me." Tyler's eyes widened at you as he rolled the joint between his fingers, wondering what had gotten into you. Just a few minutes before, you had called him a womanizer and a whore, but that wasn't something he took offense to. In fact, he actually took it as a compliment.
"Yeah," he shrugged. "Why not? Have you done it before?"
"Mhm," you nodded once again and Tyler put the joint between his lips before lighting up. He inhaled the smoke and you didn't know why you found it so hot. You weren't supposed to like him, but here you were, about to smoke with him, a more intimate way of doing it.
Tyler held the smoke in his mouth and stepped closer to you, his hands hesitantly reaching up to rest his hands on your cheeks. They were rough and warm and now you weren't sure you could ever let him go, feeling so safe in his touch.
He pulled you forward and your hands moved to his waist, his lips gently pressing to yours, both of your mouths opening as he pushed the smoke into your mouth. You inhaled it, trying to not think about how good to have his lips against yours, wanting to take the leap and turn it into a kiss, but deciding against it. That wasn't what you were there for. You were just going to accept that nothing was going to happen between the two of you.
But as soon as the smoke as been inhaled, Tyler's lips moved against yours, soft and gentle. You responded quickly, moving in rhythm with him, letting him take whatever he wanted as he deepened it, tilting your head back as he dipped his tongue into your mouth.
You let out an involuntary moan as his tongue swirled around yours and he was quick to pull away. You stared, trying to chase his lips, but he was too far away now.
"I'm sorry," he licked his lips. "I shouldn't have done that."
"Why not?"
"Because we don't like each other, y/n," he said as if you needed the reminded.
"Maybe I don't like you, but I can't deny my attraction to you. I've been thinking about what you would taste like for months." Being so vulnerable was scary to you, but you were just trying to make him feel better.
"You're telling that you've been fantasizing about me? You?"
"Yes," you sighed. "Me, Tyler. I bet you'd believe me if you could feel how wet I am." His widened at you as you stood from the stool, striding towards him. You then took his hand and slid it underneath your skirt, heading straight for your cunt. You helped him cup it, feeling your slick through the fabric of your thong.
"See?" You asked, batting your eyelashes. "I want this just as much as you do." Without a warning, his hand dipped into your thong, his fingers being shoved into your cunt. You let out a loud moan and that only encouraged him.
"So fucking wet," he chuckled, stepping closer to you and you turned your back to him, pressing it against his chest to give him better access. His fingers dug deeper inside of you and he grabbed onto your chin with his free hand, forcing you to turn towards him, pressing his lips to yours, wanting to feel you moan into his mouth, wanting to feel your hot breaths on his skin.
"Oh my god," you whined as his fingers curved, hitting just the right spot and just when you were about to hit your peak, he removed his fingers from you.
"Nope," he shook his head with a chuckle, moving so that his lips were hovering over the shell of your ear. "You can cum when I'm inside of you." He then put his fingers into his mouth, giving them a rough suck before pressing his lips to yours roughly as his hands moved up your skirt, grabbing hold of the waist band and pulling them down and once they pooled at your feet, you kicked them aside.
His hands slid up your skirt once again, but this time to hold onto your bare ass. He then let his hands moved down to your thighs, gripping them and helping your wrap your legs around his waist before he carried you to the couch. He threw you down onto it and went to grab a condom from his pocket, but realized that he didn't have one.
"Shit, I don't have a condom," he said and you couldn't help but roll your eyes at him.
"I have one," you replied but made no move to get it. "But I kind of like the idea of feeling you inside me."
"Are you on birth control?"
"Yep," you nodded and Tyler quickly unbuckled his belt, letting it fall to the floor with a clatter then removed his pants and underwear before collapsing onto the couch next to you.
Your eyes widened at how big he was, seeing precum already leaking from him. Your mouth watered as your found yourself wanting to suck him off, but maybe another time.
He grabbed hold of your waist and helped you climb on top of him and you both moaned as you settled yourself on his dick. Your hips bucked against his as you rode him, the most delicious sounds leaving his mouth you did so. You grabbed onto his shoulders, watching him already come undone underneath you and you were going to keep that image and lock it away forever.
"God, you're so fucking hot," he whined and you felt yourself getting even more wet at hearing him make those kinds of noises.
"I know I am, baby," you cooed. "I knew you couldn't resist me." You were getting so cocky and as hot as Tyler thought it was, he thought that it was his job.
"Nope," he replied, grabbing hold of your waist and pushing you down onto the couch, pinning you there. He then pounded into you, the sound of you crying out being music to his ears. This is what he liked, what he was used to. He liked being the dominant one. It was what he was good at. "I'm the cocky one, Manhattan."
"Wow," he chuckled. "Look at how you're already crying out for me. Taking me so well, darlin'." he continued to pound into you, his hands gripping your wrists a little too tightly, but you actually kind of liked it. Maybe if you were lucky, there would be bruises. A physical reminder of what had happened, something that would show you that it was all real and not a figment of your imagination.
"Fuck, you feel so good," you moaned, clenching around his cock. "Want to feel all of you."
"Look at you, getting all ambitious. Think you can take it all, honey?"
"Just do it, please." You were begging for him now and there was no fucking that he could say no.
"Alright, you asked for it, doll," he replied and pushed all of himself inside of you. He watched you clench around him again and he let out a moan of his own, loving the way he felt inside of you, loving that there was no barrier between the two of you, only making the whole thing more intimate.
Tyler lowered himself on top of you, pressing a kiss to your lips, his tongue finding yours once again. You moaned once again his mouth and he groaned against your lips. You were driving him absolutely crazy in the best possible way.
"Gonna fuck you until we both cum and then I'm gonna give you the best head of your life," he said against your lips. "How does that sound?"
"Mhm," you nodded, feeling dizzy, not sure how much more you could take, but wanting to hold on as long as possible.
"Use your words, darlin'."
"Yes," you nodded once he pulled away. "It sounds perfect."
Tyler pounded into you once more, thrusting his cock in and out of you, watching you rapidly drift away, wanting to fuck you until you could no longer form proper sentences. Wanting to get you drunk from your orgasm.
You cried out for him continuously, unsure of how you could sleep with anyone else when he was giving you the best time of your life. But you supposed that was the point so you would have no choice but to come back to him. And you had no problem with that. But that didn't mean that you suddenly liked him. You still thought he was a cocky asshole. But he was a cocky asshole who knew how to fuck.
"Already close are you?" He chuckled. "Manhattan, this is only the beginning.
"I'm good," you slurred. "I'm-oh my god," your words were cut off by an orgasm ripping through you. Tyler watched you come absolutely undone and he was getting close himself.
He wasn't far behind you, and you felt his cum leak inside of you as he reached his climax, howling as he did so. And he looked so hot doing it, his eyes shut tight, his hands holding onto your wrists for dear life.
Once you had both come down from it, Tyler lowered himself back down onto you, resting his head onto your chest, hearing the steady rhythm of your heart beating. It was pounding and he smiled to himself as he knew he was the reason for it.
You reached your hand up and ran your hand through his hair and he felt his eyes flutter closed at how comfortable he felt. He had never felt this at home with anyone. Whenever he slept with anyone, he wasn't one for aftercare or cuddling, but here he was, perfectly happy being there with you.
He then pulled away and pressed another kiss to your lips before helping you remove your shirt, wanting to see what you looked like. He was sure that you looked beautiful, but he wanted to be sure.
He let out a gasp at your very scandalous, lacy bra, wondering if you had worn it for him. Well, of course you didn't. You didn't like him so who would you have been wearing lingerie for? He didn't know why he cared. He didn't like you and it was very likely that you were wearing it for yourself. But nonetheless, you looked irresistible and he needed to know what you looked like underneath, even though it could partially see through the sheer panels.
"Fuck," he he groaned and before he could stop himself, he was lowering himself down, his lips pressing to the fabric, open mouthed kisses all over it.
You let out a gasp at the feeling, the now wet fabric sticking to you, but you hardly minded. He then unhooked your bra, quick to throw it to the side and take your nipple into his mouth, desperate to know what it tasted like.
Your fingers wound into his hair as he licked and sucked on the sensitive spot, taking his time, not feeling the need to rush. He wanted to make you feel good at his own pace, wanting you to beg for him.
Moan after moan fell from your lips and he loved that he was able to get such sounds from you just with his mouth. God, how was he so good at it and how did he somehow know exactly what you liked without even asking?
He then moved on to the other one, giving it the same attention then kissed all way down to the spot right above your cunt. He spread your legs wide letting out a dramatic gasp as he looked down at it.
"Still so wet for me, hm?" He asked. "Bet you taste so good. Wanna eat my cum out of you." God, he had such a filthy mouth and that was something that you were really starting to like about him. That he was shameless about what he liked.
"Go ahead," you told him. "Need your mouth on my cunt," you whined.
"Gonna need you to beg for me, doll," he said, his lips hovering right over your cunt.
"Tyler, please. I need you." You were begging with so much urgency but he felt like he needed just one more push and he would comply.
"One more, doll. Just one more and I'll give you the best head of your life."
"Tyler, c'mon. I swear to god, if you don't-" your words were cut off by him shoving his face into your cunt and you let out a gasp as his nose brushed it.
He put his mouth on your cunt and sucked on it slowly, licking back and forth across it wanting to savor the taste of you. Sure, he liked the actual penetrative part of sex, but giving head was definitely his favorite part. He loved the way every woman tasted different, that they liked different things when it came down to it and he loved figuring out what they liked every time, playing little games to guess.
He continued to lick and suck on your clit, your hands moving to his hair, giving it a tug and he let out a moan of his own at the feeling. It was like you knew that he loved to have his hair pulled.
He moved down to your slit and let his tongue tease it, not fully going inside you, still taking his sweet time to pleasure you. He draped your legs over his shoulders and dove in further, continue to lick and suck at a leisurely pace and you were eating it up, responding with nothing but whimpers and moans as the feeling.
Just when you were getting close, Tyler stuck his tongue inside of you, causing your back to arch in pleasure as he did so. He swirled it around in circles and then let it curve, hitting just the right spot for you to orgasm. You could let him do that exact thing for hours, never getting tired of the feeling.
Tyler removed his tongue from you and went back to your slit, letting his teeth slide across it, a scream ripping through you as he did so. And he swore that if he could've been right there for the rest of his life, he would have never complained about anything ever again. He wouldn't have had any reason to. He wanted to taste you forever.
He then finally pulled away from you, using his shirt to wipe your slick from his face, but leaving the bit on his chin so he could lick it up, wanting to get every last drop.
"Fuck," you sighed as you collapsed onto the couch. "You can do that whenever you want."
"Oh," he chuckled. "I intend to." He pressed another kiss to your lips then put on his underwear before helping you from the couch. He then helped you put your shirt and took you by the hand before leading you up the stairs, fully intending to keep you up the rest of the night.

Oh My God || Hazel Callahan
Listen- I believe in loser hazel and I find her to be perfect- I know this isn't my best fic but I've been in serious bottoms brain rot
dialog prompts:
"Hold my hand" "Absolutely not"
Characters: Hazel Callahan x Reader, the whole club
Word count: 2359
Tumblr media
Hazel Callahan was your mortal enemy. Did she know? Probably not. It was honestly beside the point. Because what mattered was that bitch seemed to have it out for you since the start of high school. First, it was taking your topic for a history project. Whatever- no big deal. Then all the “accidents” spilling coffee on your backpack (she had given you money for a new one but still), tripping you in the walkways, and hitting you in the face with a volleyball (multiple times). After that, she got the better parking spot for senior year, and finally, the great big plump cherry on top, she took the lunch table you had practically reserved since freshman year.
At the end of the day, the whole ordeal may be a bit over-dramatic… but that table was perfect. In the corner, you could either hide or have a great undisturbed lunch with your friends. Hazel had sat there one day with Josie and PJ. which was weird in itself because they never had eaten in the cafeteria before and you didn't even remember them being friends.
For how much you didn't care about Hazel Callahan- she sure took a lot of your attention.
If anyone else had done any of those things- you probably wouldn’t have thought anything about it. But this was Hazel Callahan who despite your best efforts you could not stop crushing on.
The stolen table was a very recent development. As in on Monday and it was now Wednesday. You sat at the next best table with Sylvie and Krystal, watching as Hazel feverishly wrote something in her notebook as PJ seemed to make a grandiose speech.
She had no right to look that attractive while sitting in your spot. You groaned and face-planted into your crossed arms on the table.
“Are you good dude?” You rolled your head to the side to look at Sylvie and then let out another frustrated groan.
“Everything is awful and I hate it here.”
Krystal patted your back while Silive sighed, “You know what you need?”
“Hmm?”
“To hit something.”
You laughed from inside your arm fortress, “Okay Sylvie- what should I hit? A fucking tree? Jeff? A Huntington player?”
“No, you should join the fight club! It’s for women empowerment- I’m trying to train up to deal with my stepdad ya know?”
You lifted your head and gave your friend a questioning look. “Fight club? For women empowerment?”
Sylvie and Krystal both nodded excitedly.
“When and Where?”
----------------------------------------------
Of fucking course.
When you walk in behind Krystal and Sylvie to the gym, the first person you see is Hazel.
Your body immediately fills with rage. At this point, it’s starting to feel like you're more angry at yourself for crushing on someone you barely even know. But you believe in self-love so you plan to continue projecting your anger onto someone else.
Everyone was milling about and chatting, you left your bag on the bleachers by everyone else’s and followed your friends to the middle of the gym.
Stella-Rebecca caught your eye and waved, which you gladly returned before PJ stomped as hard as possible on the floor to get everyone's attention.
“What time is it?!” She screamed and was answered by a chorus of “3:15”s
“That’s right you sluts! It’s time to get down and dirty!”
You couldn't help the look of mild disgust that passed across your features. Maybe this wasn’t a good idea. After al, Sylvie made some seriously questionable choices- you thought you could trust Krystal though.
“Alright cunts- who wants to start us of-” PJ started by being cut off by Hazel who whispered something to her and then directed PJ’s attention onto you with a point of her pen. “Well look what the cat dragged in.” PJ gave you an unimpressed look which made you roll your eyes.
“I can leave if this is a closed cl-” You started to point behind you to the door but Josie stopped you by waving her hands
“No- no you're more than welcome. PJ just gets a little into it- you know flashbacks to juvie and all that.” Josie gives a reassuring (and awkward) smile.
You pursed your lips and nodded, “Cool.” out of the corner of your eye you could see Hazel giving Josie a thumbs up.
“Well, Since you’re fresh blood let's see what you got,” PJ says while smiling at you.
“Okay,” you shrug. “I really don’t know what I’m doing though so don’t expect much.”
PJ just brushes you off, “Don’t worry. It’s mostly just instinct.”
You nod and step into the center of the circle of girls. Okay, maybe this was a stupid fucking idea.
“Let's see…” PJ looks around the circle, trying to decide who to pair you up with. “Hazel- why don’t you hop in.”
Hazel looks nervous, but she still nods and enters the ring, giving you a small smile and nod.
You look at her blankly, “Now what?” you ask.
“Now you hit each other.” PJ claps her hands together, “Fucking beat each other the fuck up!”
“What-” You can’t finish your question because Hazel deals a hard hit right to your gut. “Fuck!” you double over in shock before gathering yourself again. “What the fuck.”
Hazel looks a little confused but motions to herself, “Hit me now- that's how this works.”
You give her the best “what the fuck” look you can convey before settling into a fighting stance. You thought there'd be a little lead-up or something.
You swung and got in a decent hit to the side of Hazel's face. It left a stinging sensation on your knuckles but you tried to shake it off.
The two of you exchanged a few more punches and kicks back and forth before Hazel managed to catch you completely off guard and-
BAM
Your ass hit the ground hard. “Fuck!” you couldn't help the curse from leaving your lips. You let yourself unfurl onto the ground and stared at the ceiling. The girls around you clapped as you tried to catch your breath.
“Good fight,” Hazel said, reaching one of her hands out towards you on the ground.
You just looked at her, “Yeah. Good...” Suddenly your head hurt a lot more than it did a minute ago. “Fight.” This was definitely a stupid fucking decision. Maybe this is what killed you. RIP the girl who got her lights knocked out but the girl who was both the love and hate of her life.
You tried to sit up but the world was kinda spinning.
“Hazel, how hard did you hit her?” Josie asked as she joined Hazel looking down at you. Hazel looked like a lost puppy.
“I didn’t think it was that hard- are you okay.”
You laughed not handling the embarrassment of the situation well, “I am so good actually.” You went to stand up but stumbled before your legs gave out putting you back on the floor.
Hazel tried to grab at your hand to help you up but you retracted your hand on instinct. “Hold my hand.”
“Absolutely not.”
Silvie barked out a laugh- “damn rejected!”
Hazel looked at you- her big blue eyes filling with hurt. Fuck. You didn't want to have to see those sad puppy dog eyes. You took hold of her hand and let her pull you up. If you thought the world was spinning when you were sitting, now it was like you were on a tilt-a-whirl. “Shit.” you couldn't keep yourself upright and leaned into Hazel so you didn't fall back to the ground.
“Uh- I’m gonna take her to get some water.” Hazel sounded very concerned but you giggled. This was so embarrassing. Not only were you weak in front of your enemy- but also your crush. “Oh my god, I think I broke her!”
PJ scoffed, “You just gave her like a concussion- she’ll be fine.” You nodded to agree with PJ.
“Oh my god oh my god oh my god…” Hazel mumbled as she walked you out of the gym.
“I’m so so sorry.” She continued to apologize to all the girl's bathrooms where she propped you against a sink. “I didn’t think I was that strong.” She gathered some paper towels and got them wet, dabbing them to your forehead.
In all honesty, you feel fine now. The dizziness was gone and replaced with a dull ache. But you were kinda enjoying Hazel being all over you.
“It’s fine. Don't worry about it.”
“If you want to hit me I get it- I deserve it.”
You laughed, “Yeah you can say that again.” You needed to practice biting your damn tongue.
“I’m so sorry- I can’t believe I did that- I always do something stupid around you. I didn’t mean to hit you that hard- I just can’t like to focus with you around and I’m sorry-” Hazel continued to ramble and you started to zone out a little before saying the only thing running through your mind.
“You stole my table”
Hazel stopped talking and looked at you. “No, I didn’t”
“Yes, you did.”
“What are you talking about? I’ve never stolen anything let alone a table- I don’t even know where I would’ve put-”
“No Hazel, my seat. In the lunch room.”
She just stared at you and blinked.
“You stole my spot- where I have sat every day for the last and you spilled coffee on my backpack and hit me in the face with volleyballs and… and… and now you gave me a concussion with your fists.”
Hazel groaned and moved away from you holding her face in her hands, “Oh my god you must think I hate you.”
“Well yeah!”
Hazel just groaned again. “I just like you.”
“Oh yeah sure- wait- what did you just say?”
“I just like you okay,” She kicks the floor and starts to pout, “You’re just like really cool and like always around and you make me nervous.”
“Oh my god.”
“I know- i’m sorry- I knew you hated me cause of all that stuff”
“Oh my god-”
Hazel made more inhuman nosies as you started to laugh.
“Hazel what the actual fuck- you like me? You like me? For how long?”
Hazel stopped with the noises “I don’t know? Like freshman year? Why?”
“Despite all of the mishaps, and how much they pissed me off- I could not stop crushing on you… since freshman year.”
Hazels jaw literally dropped, “What, no way?”
“Yes way. Why didnt you just like talk to me?”
“Well everytime I did I would somehow manage you hurt you.”
You shook your head and laughed lighty, “thats actually fair, I can’t blame you for that.”
She cracked a bit of a smile, relief from the last few seconds flooding over the both of you.
“This is crazy.”
You laughed, “it is. And to think all it took was you punching me to the ground.”
She groaned, “god I really am sorry-”
“It’s fine- definitely worth it.”
She smiled, “now what?”
You shrugged, “I don’t know- we’ve wasted almost four years it seems like so theres no point in wasting any more.”
She gave you a dopey look and figeted with the rings on her fingers.
“Hazel come here.” She followed your instructions obditally and stood in front of you- close enough that you could feel the gentle wind of her breath.
You placed your hands on her shoulders, not entirely sure the right way to go about this- and maybe this was moving a bit fast and the common sense had gotten knocked out of your head but at this point you were kicking yourself for not making a move over the entrieity of your highschool career.
Her eyes were open, glued to your lips.
“Gotta start making up for all that lost time.” you leaned forward, barley brushing your lips together, when you pulled back Hazel stood completely still with her eyes shut tight. You smiled to yourself. “Do you want to..” Hazel keep her eyes shut but nodded.
You leaned again, this time trying to add in some movement. It was painfully obvious that neither of you really knew what you were doing. Hazel seemed to have a sudden surge in confidence after accidentally (maybe?) bitting your lower lip which drew some type of sound from you. She stepped forward, pushing you aagint the bathroom sink and putting the two of you in a much more intainte position.
Despite the awkwardness and surprise, it felt nice- or good? Something like that. You stopped anazlying everything and instead focused on the fact that their was a very attractive girl running her hands down your back and letting your shirt cover her finger tips as she explored you.
The second you started to thank whatever god was a above that it was after school hours so the building was essentially vacant- the door brust open, followed by two very loud “fuck”s.
Hazel rushed back away from you, her face already blushing a bright pink.
PJ and Josie stood in the doorway- matching faces of shock painting their features.
“No fucking way Hazel is getting puss before us.” PJ rolled her eyes.
“Uh- sorry we just uh- you know- wanted to make sure you were good.” Josie was doing a horrible job hiding her uncomforatbleness as she questioned you with a thumbs up.
You bit your lip to stop from laughing and gave her a thumbs up back, “Doing great in here. Thanks- but if you wouldn’t mind leaving-”
“Oh yeah! Yeah! For sure- we’ll let you two lovebirds get back to it.” Josie did a half bow before turning and pushing PJ out the door.
You laughed as hazel just looked mortified, “we’ll continue this later, I think we should get back to the club though- kinda wanna see you lay some bitchs out.”
She took a deep breath and patted down her shirt, before looking in the mirror and fixing her hair.
You gave her another thumbs up before the two of you left the bathroom to go back to the gym.

"Y/n, I practically hear your teeth chattering. Here, wear this." Azriel removed his sweater, passing it to you with a hint of concern in his eyes. You bit the inside of your lip to keep from smiling, he was always so thoughtful and observant. It was on of the reasons you fell in love with him.
"It's okay, Az, you'll freeze." You attempted to return the warm clothes, but he firmly pushed them back, fixing you with a stare that left no argument.
"I won't freeze. You know I'm used to this weather. Bet you miss your old home right about now." He alluded to your home court, The Day Court where the sun always shines, and standing on the balcony on a crisp December morning doesn't make your fingers feel like they'll fall off.
You arrived in Velaris to assist with document translations, given your expertise. Your services were in high demand across various courts. And initially, a month-long stay extended to two, then three. Eventually, enchanted by Velaris and its people, you asked Helion if you could make it your permanent home. The support of your friends added to the whole experience.
You slid into Azriel's warm sweater, feeling its comforting embrace. The fabric whispered tales of comfort and safety, an unspoken promise against the biting cold. As you adjusted to the newfound warmth, your heart felt a different heat—one that spoke against the unspoken feelings you had towards him. The subtle scent of his cologne lingered, intertwining with the softness of the fabric, creating a scent that seemed to make your heart flutter twice as hard. In that moment, you couldn't help but let the warmth of the sweater mirror the warmth within you.
“ Feel better?” You nodded, avoiding his eyes in fear that he’d be able to see the emotions portrayed on your face.
“ Thanks, Az. For the sweater and all. It’s really warm.”
The corner of his lips twitched as his eyes remained on you, “Keep it. It looks better on you than it ever did me anyways.”
He grabbed your hand before you could respond and walked back in, closing the balcony doors. Stuck between friends and something more, you felt lost. Wanting to confess your feelings to Azriel but scared it could mess things up, you were torn. The shared laughs felt like good friends, but those lingering looks sparked a longing for more. Balancing this act, you wrestled with risking the friendship for a shot at something deeper. In the middle of all this, you were standing there, not sure which way to go.
As you hesitated walking further with him, Azriel noticed you stopped walking and furrowed his brow. "Hey, what's up?" he asked, his eyes reflecting genuine concern.
You wanted to tell Azriel how you felt, but doubts held you back. As you looked at him, the sweater felt heavy with unsaid words. You wondered if it's better to say what's on your mind or keep it to yourself. Fear answered for you as you shook your head and gave him a reassuring smile.
——————
Later that day, during dinner, Azriel asked you to meet him in the upstairs library while your friends were distracted, to which you accepted, head spinning at the possibilities.
In the quiet sanctuary of the library, the air thick with unreadable energy, Azriel's eyes met yours. Without a word, he closed the distance and gently pressed his lips to yours, a silent acceptance of the feelings that had lingered in the unspoken spaces between you. The unexpected kiss marked a sweet transition between friendship and the uncharted territory of something more.
——————
For over a year, you and Azriel kept things under wraps, not really calling it a relationship. It was a secret, a kind of unspoken understanding. The stolen moments and shared looks formed the backbone of whatever it was between you. You regularly fell in each other’s beds and spent intimate moments together. There was however one specific night you’d always cherish.
You were in his bed, cuddling after he gave you yet another amazing time. Your legs were h thrown over his hips as you occasionally kissed his plushy lips. He held you tighter and ran his hand under your sweater. His eyes were lidded as he whispered intimately,
“ This sweater looks so fucking good on you, please never take it off. I’ve never given anything to another woman, but there’s something special about you. I love it when you wear it, like a reminder that you’re mine. No one else will wear it.” He pulled you closer and kissed your neck and collarbones. His hot breath made yours hitch as he fondled with your stiffened nipples.
Your attempt to come up with a response faltered as he brushed over another sensitive area, prompting a moan to escape your lips.
————————————
But as time passed, the lack of clarity started to wear on you. The hidden nature of it all was both a source of comfort and frustration. You yearned for more, a real relationship, a label to put on what you had with Azriel.
But with the war and Feyre's sisters entering the scene, everything got complicated. Your attention got scattered, and the chaos made the unspoken thing with Azriel less of a priority for a while.
————————————
After the traumatic and bloody war, you tried to seek Azriel for comfort, but he busied himself with Elain. His focus seemed to be on her, making it hard to find a moment to reconnect. The situation left you feeling unsure about where things stood between you two.
As the days went by, you noticed Elain entering Azriel's world completely, capturing his attention in a way that left you filled with jealousy and pit growing in your stomach. Her presence became a subtle intrusion, and the shared moments that were once exclusively yours now seemed to be scattered between you and her. The laughter and conversations, once intimate, now carried a different tone, a rushed tone to hurry away to Elain. A pang of jealousy crept into your heart, and the undefined nature of your connection with Azriel began to feel more fragile. The fear of losing him to someone else tugged at your emotions, leaving you questioning the unspoken relationship you had shared for so long.
You couldn’t even blame him. Elain was a sight for sore eyes, a beautiful girl with an even more beautiful soul. She had only treated you with kindness, giving you thoughtfull Solstice gifts and advice when needed.
You couldn’t justifiably be mad at her.
You’d pick her over you too.
—————————
Maybe you should just face your problems head on and ask him for some advice to break the newfound ice. His grunts were heard as he punched cassians face, getting some blood on his knuckles. Approaching him in the training pit, you hoped he wouldn’t dismiss you. “ Hey, Az, can we talk?”
Looking at you with an unreadable expression, he sharply replied, “Yeah, sure, quick. What's up?”
You tentatively asked, noticing his mood, “ Um, you wanna go for a walk? I haven’t seen you for a while. Also, we’re supposed to meet tonight, are you still up for it?”
He glanced around, eyes searching for an out, “Can it wait? I've got something I need to take care of.”
You felt dismissed as he didn’t even address what you mentioned and used whatever power you had left and asked, “ I just thought-“
"Look, I'll catch up with you later, alright? But yeah, I guess i’ll meet you tonight." After Azriel quickly walked off, you felt a sting from his unintentional rudeness. He had been acting like this for a while now and they way he hurriedly accepted your offer was making you feel like a second choice. But why? You did want to meet him and he did say yes, so why in the mother’s name did this feel so…?
Trying to shake it off, you found a quiet spot to gather your thoughts. Doubts crept in, making you wonder if his abrupt exit meant something more. Left alone with unanswered questions, you thought about having a straightforward talk about where you stand in his life.
“Hey, you okay? What was that about?” Cassian’s tone was so gentle and inviting and it almost made you spill everything right there, but he already had his own issues and problems with Nesta so you didn’t want to burden him further.
"It was nothing. I, uh, I'll see you later, Cas." You hastily departed, your eyes stinging with impending tears.
————————————
He was late. Again. This had happened seceral times before and despite agreeing to see him tonight, his prolonged absence weighed on you. Feeling a bit pathetic, you rose from your armchair and slipped under the covers, opting for a deep, dreamless sleep.
————————————
As war flashbacks filled your mind, and a suffocating panic took hold in the middle of the night, leaving you sweating. You threw of your sheets, gasping as you made your way to door. Desperate, you rushed to find Azriel, your heart beating louder than the echoing footsteps in the quiet hallways. You hoped to find comfort, a break from your horrors, as you hurried along.
Turning a corner, the world shattered around you. Azriel and Elain stood in an embrace, lost in a kiss that felt like a thousand daggers piercing your chest. The air in your lungs disappeared , replaced by a crushing weight that threatened to swallow you whole. Time was lost as you grappled with the horrible realization that the sanctuary you sought was crumbling before your eyes.
Your Azriel wasn’t yours anymore.
Your Azriel wasn’t ever truly yours, a taunting voice spewed in your head
Quietly, your broken heart mirrored the shattered moonlight, pain etched into you, stranded in heartbreak's silent hallway where quiet screamed louder than war's echoes.
He had chosen to be with Elain even though he promised you he’d see you.
———————————
Your heart was in your throat as you went downstairs for breakfast. The memory of Azriel shoving his tounge down Elains throat was still so fresh and it made something in you ache.
The dining room buzzed with the voices of friends and family as you dropped into a chair between Feyre and Lucien, saving space for more seats in front of you. Glancing to the right from your plate, you noticed Lucien, as he cut into his eggs. Oddly, you hadn't known he was back, despite being good friends. Ever since he learned about his father, he'd been curious about your old home in the day court, where his father ruled. You two became fast friends, and you promised to take him on an exclusive trip there anytime he wanted.
“ Hey, Lucien. How was your trip and when did you come back, I didn’t hear you enter yesterday.”
Yeah because you probably cried yourself to sleep, maybe that’s why.
He flashed his charming smile, tilting his head with playful eyes. "Missed me, Y/n?" he teased, laughing as you playfully punched his arm. Only he would crack jokes so early in the morning.
Deciding to tease him back, you couldn't resist digging into the details of his trip to the continent. You never got tired of his adventures, loving how he narrated them with grace and humor, making you feel like you were right there with him.
"Yeah, so what if I missed you? I enjoy having you around, Luc. But seriously, spill. Did you take down any monsters? Save any damsels in distress?"
Lucien chuckled, leaning in with a mischievous glint in his eyes. "Well, I did fight off a swarm of overeager pigeons. Does that count as saving the day or just a triumph against feathery creatures?" he quipped, his laughter infectious.
You howled at the thought of a flock of birds surrounding your friend, pecking at him while he irritatingly tries to remove them.
The room fell silent as Azriel walked in with Elain, and your laughter faded.
A mix of hot and cold flashes hit you as you saw Elain wearing your sweater.
The sweater Azriel gave you a year ago—the one that meant a lot to you.
The one you had grown to love and was a reminder of what could be.
The one that cemented your feelings for him.
He gave it to Elain.
The one he was kissing last night.
The one he swapped you with and then got irritated when you tried to approach him.
The one who was mated to the seething male next to you.
The weight of everyone's stares bore down on you as Elain and Azriel took their seats in front of you and Lucien. Feyre and Cassian's eyes felt like lasers on the side of your head as you couldn't look away from your sweater now worn by Elain. Confusion gnawed at you – you'd tossed it into the laundry basket, yet there she was, flaunting it. The fact that Azriel didn't seem to care only added to the bewilderment, even when he knew what it meant to you. Irritation sparked in you as you got ready to chew him out, because who the hell wears something that doesn’t belong to them. And maybe Elain didn’t know but Azriel sure as hell did and you had enough of whatever bullshit this was. But before you were able to speak up, Feyre beat you to it.
“Elain, where did you get that sweater? I’m pretty sure it’s y/n’s.” Everyone looked back at Elain as red colored her cheeks, she meekly looked at you as she sputtered her explanation.
“ I hope it’s okay y/n, I didn’t know it was yours. I was in the laundry room with Azriel and I got… Well I, I um, got dirty, so he handed me this shirt and told me it was okay but I should’ve asked. Do you want it back?”
Numbness was all you could describe what you felt like. There was no way to miss the insinuation. They fucked and he gave her your sweater to wear after. And she didn’t even know it was yours, so you didn’t blame her. You found a new level of respect for Lucien, because you weren’t even mated to Azriel and you felt all this pain. You couldn’t even begin to imagine how he felt.
Not having the energy for this you gave her a sweet smile and said something that made Azriel’s eyes stay on you the rest of the meal.
“No worries, Elain. The shirt means nothing to me. Keep it. It looks better on you than it ever did on me, anyway.”
You casually picked up your fork, trying to eat away the tension that lingered in the air. Throughout the meal, Lucien remained tense next to you, his mate leaning against the shadowsinger, his arm around her. The gesture practically shouting that he didn't care about Elain's mate sitting across from him, much to Rhysand's dismay.
"Lucien, I'm full. Do you want to accompany me to town? There are a few things I need to get, and I could use some help carrying them." You extended your hand, and he took it, ever the gentleman, placing it so you held onto his arm with a smile.
————————————
Reaching the pathway to the town square, the open nature felt like a breath of fresh air. Despite you and Lucien being able to winnow, a walk through the cold December morning seemed necessary to clear your head. Glancing at Lucien, you sensed a shared need for clarity. Unable to contain it any longer, you decided to spill everything, the weight of unspoken words demanding release.
“I’ll be honest, I suspected something along those lines. I mean you weren’t being subtle about it. But the sweater threw me off.”
“Oh, I suppose our subtlety is not relevant anymore. Lucien, I just want you to know how much I appreciate you and hold you in high regard. Feel free to share anything; I'm here to listen. I can't even fathom how hard it must be when you're mated.”
His sad laughter echoed, tugging at your heartstrings, confirming that it wasn't an easy situation. As he opened up, every word he shared made perfect sense, resonating with what you were feeling.
After wandering around The Rainbow, sipping hot chocolates, and sharing your thoughts, you headed home. However, upon your return to The House, you were greeted by a pacing and visibly upset Azriel. Furrowing your eyebrows, you looked at Lucien who looked just as confused as you. Azriels pacing came to a halt as he quickly made his way over to you.
“ Where have you been? I looked for you everywhere. Why where you out with him?” Hot fury coarsed through your veins as you snapped at his tone. Just who the hell did he think he was?
“Where I am and who I'm with isn't your concern. Now excuse me, I'm going to my room. Lucien, I'll see you around. Thank you for your help.” You stood on your toes, giving Lucien a kiss on the cheek, and then briskly walked to your room, leaving Azriel with his thoughts. Though he certainly didn’t think very long as his footsteps inched closer behind you.
Azriel stood before you with a tense expression. “Why were you with Lucien?” he demanded, his eyes searching for answers.
As much as you missed him and ached for him, there wasn’t a single planet where you’d let him disrespect you and then demand answers like some jealous boyfriend. Anger took over as you stood tall and laid everything for him.
“Listen, I don’t know what you think you’re doing but you can’t talk to me like that. Lucien is a good male, you should know, your fucking his mate and he hasn’t murdered you yet.”
His face was back to it’s neutral state, the state of the shadowsinger and spymaster of the night court. He stepped closer, jaw tight as he spewed words that made your blood boil.
“I don’t want to see you around Lucien again. I don’t care that you’re friends because it looks like you want to fuck him. You belong to me and I don’t share.”
The possessiveness normally would’ve turned you on as it once did when a male tried to hit on you a few months ago. But this just made you want to punch him clean across his face.
“Azriel, I’m not sure you’re hearing me. I may see whoever I want because you’re not my father or mate or anything. And I’m not a thing, I do not belong to you so I will do whatever pleases me.” You stepped closer, interrupting whatever he was about to say.
“Unless you’re actually disturbed, then you’re capable of understanding that you’ve chosen Elain, you’ve neglected me and have chosen her. I don’t blame you, the heart wants what it wants. But atleast grow a pair and say it to my fucking face. How dare you come to me and demand I stop seeing my friend?”
“ Y/n, let me just-”
“ No, i’m saying what I’m going to say then me and you never have to talk unless it’s absolutely necessary.” The last bit of anger you had, fired up the question you had been asking yourself for a while.
“Why did you give her my sweater when you said you’d never give it to anyone. Why would you ever give her what’s mine? From my laundry basket? Are you truly heartless or just plain stupid? And why do you care about what im doing? You’ve made it clear we’re over.” You swallowed back your tears, determination winning over the burning behind your eyes, no fucking way would you cry in front of him.
His words devoid of any sense of emotion rattled you. He ignored everything you said as he gave his stupid answer.
“First of all, it’s just polyester. You’re acting like a child over a shirt. And you’re my mate, so I think I get some say in who you see.” As if his words triggered something, an obnoxious golden thread snapped itse in your chest. The weight of it heavy with sadness and betrayal.
He looked bored and uninterested as he stared you down. “I’ve always wanted a mated and when you first arrived, the bond snapped into place, hence why I fucked you for over a year. And I almost told you about it but then Elain came along and I realized I love her more than I want a mate. You know, The Mother is cruel, she should’ve just made me and her mates so we could’ve skipped this ugly little moment. Oh well-”
A grunt escapes as he staggered back from your punch. That arrogant, hypocritical piece of shit knew you were his mate, he knew it every single time he bedded you, he knew it when you cried and laughed, he knew it when you told him how much you wanted one.
He knew and he didn’t care.
A whirlwind of emotions hit you as the bond intensified. A headache crept in as you turned away and left in silence, your head filling with questions.
How could you face him without the urge to punch again? Did Elain know all this? Did anyone? How could you stay here without wanting to kill him? And why was your face wet?
You halted, a trembling hand reaching for your face. Tears flowed, and a humorless, empty laugh escaped you. You hurried back to your room, sobs breaking through. Collapsing onto the bed, waves of sadness, heartbreak, and betrayal overwhelmed you.
————————————
You stayed in your room, wallowing in self-pity for the next few days without eating or seeing anyone. The House put several plates of food on the table next to you but you just felt nauseous. Your friends had reached out and tried to talk to you only to be met with your silence, it speaking loud enough for them to understand you didn’t want to see anyone.
A knock made you snap your head up as the person persisted. Irritation sparked in you as the knocks kept up. Letting out a sound of annoyance you got up, letting your legs get adjusted from the days of not using them, before strutting over and throwing the door open only to be met with by Cassian and Feyre.
“ Oh, what are you doing here, I think I’ve made myself very clear. I’m really not inte the mood for this.” You sensed an intervention and there couldn’t possibly be a worse time. They ignored you, much to your dismay, and just stepped in and plopped down on one of the plush sofas that decorated your room.
“ Y/n, we haven’t seen you for almost a week. I’ve accepted you don’t want to see anyone but i’m starting to get really worried. Please know that whatever’s burdening you doesn’t have to weigh on your shoulders alone. We’re here for you and if you don’t want to talk to us then maybe Azriel? I know you like each other and have some connection.” Your stomach dropped when she mentioned his name.
"No, absolutely not Azriel. I never want to see that lying son of a bitch ever." They appeared alarmed and confused since you always spoke highly of him. Feyre and Cassian were the only ones aware of the true nature of your relationship with him. They had supported you, and were the only ones shocked about the sweater Elain wore, knowing its significance to you.
"What do you mean? What did he do?" They rose to give you a hug, noticing your eyes glossing over. Sitting on either side of you, they held you as you poured out the details. In the safety of your friends’ embrace, you told the painful details of Azriel's betrayal. The room echoed with the weight of your emotions as they listened, offering comfort and understanding.
"I feel so stupid. I know he's my mate, but I still feel betrayed. He made it clear we were just sleeping together, but there were so many mixed signals, and I just... I don't know. I have no anger left; I honestly don't care anymore. And I know it's not Elain's fault because she doesn't know we're mates, but I'm afraid I'll hurt her if I see her near Azriel. Gods, I really admire Lucien. I wonder how he's gone this long without breaking down." You shook your head as you looked to them. Their expression was laced with sadness and anger towards the spymaster.
“ I’ll kick his ass today at training, I’m so sorry honey.” Cassian was filled with conflict and anger at his dear friend being put through this. And Feyre didn’t look better as she glared at the door as if Azriel might suddenly appear. They were finally both mated and could imagine the pain of their mate doing something like this.
“ Y/n, do you want to come with me and stay at the River House? Maybe some time away from him will do you good. Lucien is also staying there and he has been down lately too. I’ve talked to him and your situations are very similar. Maybe you should talk to him.” Feyre held your hand, her voice gentle as she gave you a smile when you nodded, accepting the offer.
Cassian walked over to your closet and packed you a bag of clothes while Feyre led you to your vanity and brushed through your hair. She pulled it into one of the simpler styles you usually went for. You went onto the bathroom and took a quick shower. Cassian knocked softly and handed you a change of clothes. You felt an overwhelming gratitude for your friends caring nature as tears welled up in your eyes. They approached with laughter, and it sparked a genuine smile from you. Gods, you loved your friends.
—————————
Azriel flew back to The House after spending the day with Elain and dropping her off outside the River House. Though he loved Elain, she hadn’t reciprocated his feelings and it grated his nerves. He threw away a perfectly good mate. She should be loving him back too. As he entered The House, the unusual silence struck him. Cassian and Nesta’s typical noise was absent, and the absence of any sound from you heightened his worry. Azriel anxiously opened doors and searched every corner, looking for any sign of anyone.
He remembered that it was Sunday, the day of their usual family dinner. He let out a sigh of relief and changed before flying to the estate.
————————————
Your wineglass paused mid-air as Azriel walked in, placing a kiss on Elain's shoulder. She glanced at Lucien, subtly distancing herself. Despite her evident discomfort, Azriel nonchalantly put his arm around her. You felt bad for Elain. Maybe she wasn’t feeling Azriel anymore but didn’t have the heart to tell him.
A snarl ripped you from your thoughts as Lucien stood up looking murderous. Elain looked up at him with a hint of relief as Azriel simply pulled her closer and stared at him, face unreadable.
“Get your arm off her before I kill you.” Luciens voice came out gritted and you instinctively moved away a bit, not daring to get too close to the seething male witnessing his mate feel uncomfortable. Lucien was a levelheaded male and it took a lot for him to get really angry, so anyone with half a brain knew not to tread to closely. Rhysand next to him, stood up aswell, sensing that there probably would be a fight, ready to intervene.
“You’re going to kill me? I’d like to see you try.”
That was definitely the wrong thing to say because Elain frowned and pushed his arm away, making her way over to Lucien, calming him down by grabbing his hand shyly. He still held eye contact with Azriel, slightly smiling as Azriel grew angry.
“Don’t lay your hands on her again. If i ever see you making her uncomfortable, I’ll hang you with your own insides.” Elain looked at him with wide eyes and dragged him further down the table.
“Okay, what the actual fuck? What is going on and why are you looking at y/n like that?” Rhysand’s voice broke whatever trance was going on. Your interest peaked as your eyes slid over to Azriel’s only to find them filled with his usual boredom mixed with anger.
You let out a laugh, not being able to stop as you thought about how ridiculous he was being.
“ Well, let’s see. Azriel is my mate and he kept it hidden from me since the day I met him. Oh, and we fucked around for a year or so before he became a dick and started ignoring me, stopped coming to our planned meetings and I finally understood it was because of Elain. But I don’t blame her, I blame him. Hmm… what else? Right! He knew about us being mated and wished he was mated to her instead, and look how that turned out. The one you left me for doesn’t even want you anymore Azriel, how does that make you feel, mate?”
You bit out the last words with poison as you gave him a half smirk. Elain approached you, as everyone soaked up the information. She held your hands in her shaking ones and looked at you with a pained expression.
“ Y/n, please believe me, I didn’t know you two were seeing each other, let alone were mates. He told me you were just friends and nothing more. Had I known, I wouldn’t have ever been with him. And if i’m honest I thought i wanted to be with him, but I want to get to know my mate.” Before she could ramble on you pulled her into a hug, feeling bad for her. She hadn’t know and still apologized.
“Elain, I assure you, I don't hold any blame towards you. I'm happy you want to get to know Lucien. Trust me, he's genuinely funny and nice when he's not being a sarcastic ass.” Laughter filled the air as you and Elain shared a moment, lightening the mood.
You let her go as she got closer to Lucien. No matter how much you wanted to seek your mate out for comfort, you couldn’t let it happen. You knew there was only one thing left.
“ Azriel, I reject the bond. I don’t know how I can ever be with you after this. Not only did you lie to me, you lied to everyone. I’m never going to trust you completely and I think we need to work on ourselves. But it won’t be with each other.” With that you turned on your heel and left for your room, leaving behind a shattered bond and pleading a mate.
———————————————
Azriel's three-month-long begging for a second chance haunted you, likely triggered by witnessing Elain and Lucien's kiss in the courtyard. While you were happy for them, a lingering sadness stayed you, realizing you would never experience a shared bond. Azriel had robbed you of the beauty of a mating bond, and forgiveness felt out of the question. Suffocated by him, you made your way to Feyre and Rhysand's office, ready to ask the dreaded question that had lingered within you for a while.
“ Come in!” Feyre’s gentle voice probed you to open the door as you slithered in. They both looked at you with caution. After breaking the bond, you had been bedridden for three weeks. The physical and mental toll it took on you was overwhelming and some days you questioned your decision. But then you remembered what led you here and just powered through.
“ Guys, I promise I feel much better, so please no more mother-henning. Especially you Rhys.” Feyre let out an amused giggle as Rhys just narrowed his eyes in mock irritation. The weight of what you had to say hung heavy on your shoulders, but you knew they'd support you. Opting for honesty, you decided to rip off the bandaid.
“ I want to move back to the Day Court. I love it here but I miss my home, my siblings, my parents, my friends. I wasn’t supposed to stay this long and even though I love velaris, I can’t live here so close to… him. Not only that but I’ve been sending letters to Helion and he is very eager to meet Lucien and has asked me to check if he wants to come.” You decided to drop the last bomb, asking them for a huge favor.
“I also wanted to see if you could erase my memories of Azriel. Not everything, just the whole fiasco. I genuinely want to move on, and I feel like I won't be able to if I keep dwelling on it. Believe me, I've tried to avoid him and the situation for the past months, but the thoughts still linger.”
They were silent for a moment, likely speaking to each other through their mind. You met their saddened eyes as they nodded.
“I'm sorry you feel this way, Y/n. I genuinely wanted you to feel at home here, but of course we won't force you to stay. We'll erase the memories, but only if you promise to visit someday. Perhaps even let us come to you? I've heard the Day Court's sun is not to be played with, almost rivaling the Summer Court.” You giggled and nodded at Rhysand's words, tears streaming down your face – a mix of happiness and sadness. Overwhelmed with emotions, you embraced them as they gave you a big hug, one of the last you realized.
————————————
You surveyed your now empty room, memories of passionate moments and heartfelt kisses with Azriel lingering in the air. It felt like a distant past, a different life, a different version of you. Shouldering your bag, you descended the stairs. Rhysand had winnowed all your belongings back to your old quarters in Helion's palace. Lucien and Elain, already packed, awaited you at the breakfast table. It was time to share one last meal as residents of this house.
After announcing the news, Lucien and Elain asked if they could join you, insisting on the top-class tour of the court you had promised him. Delighted, you agreed, more than happy to bring your friends along as you all headed back home.
The table was filled with your friends as you shared one last meal, Azriel's seat empty as he was out on a mission. Unable to face him in fear of lingering emotions, you insisted on leaving while he was away.
Feyre stood at the head of the table, a mix of emotions visible in her eyes. She cleared her throat, capturing everyone's attention.
“Today marks the beginning of a new chapter for Y/n, Lucien, and Elain. Though farewells are always bittersweet, we must embrace change and growth. Y/n, you've been a cherished member of our court and a life-long friend, and while your path diverges, our bonds remain unbroken. Never forget that you will always have a home here.”
She smiled warmly, addressing each one individually, “Lucien, my first and dear fae friend, Elain, my kind older sister, your presence has brought joy to our home. The Day Court awaits, and I have no doubt that your light will shine brightly there.”
She raised her glass, “To new beginnings, may your paths be lit by the stars that connect us all. Safe travels, my friends.”
The room echoed with the clinking of glasses, a heartfelt farewell lingering in the air.
————————————
After tearful goodbyes, Feyre and Rhysand exchanged a glance, understanding the weight of your request. Pulling you aside, Feyre spoke softly, “Are you ready for this?"
You nodded, feeling Rhysand place a gentle hand on your forehead as Feyre held the back of your head. Together, they wove their magic, erasing the memories of Azriel and the pain attached to them. As the magic settled, you blinked, a new easiness in your eyes.
Rhys offered a reassuring smile, “May this bring you peace on your journey, Y/n.” You gave them a final hug, walking back to Lucien and Elain and winnowed back to your home.
—————
TWO YEARS LATER
At Helion's annual grand ball, you moved through the crowd, the vibrant atmosphere alive with laughter and music. You glanced around as you spotted your friends.
Approaching your dear friends, you hugged and greeted all of your friends, updating them about your life as you heared the uptade of theirs. Then, unexpectedly, you found yourself face to face with Azriel. His expression revealed a mix of confusion and curiosity. This was the first time you had met him simce you moved. Your friends told you that he was often gone on long missions, only staying briefly to report to Feyre and Rhysand before heading back out. Unbeknownst to you, your friends had slowly decreased their conversations and meetings with Azriel and he was now more of an employee than a friend. They loved both of you but there was no way to just let him back in as a dear friend after what he did.
“Hi, Azriel. It’s been a while. How’s everything going?”
He nodded, "Indeed. I must admit, I'm surprised to see you here."
You chuckled, “Really? I mean it is my home after all. Why is it shocking?”
Azriel furrowed his brows, "I thought... after everything, you hated me."
Your eyes widened in confusion, “Hate? I don’t know what you mean, Azriel. Why would I hate you? You’re a dear friend of mine.”
Realization dawned in Azriel's eyes, “Your memories...” But before he could continue, Rhysand pulled him away.
Azriel's realization hit him hard. The weight of the moment pressed upon him, and he felt a deep sense of remorse. Seeing you free from the memories, both good and bad, brought a profound ache.
He swallowed hard, the truth settling heavily in his chest. He had caused so much pain that you chose to erase him from your mind. A sickness crept over him, the regret of his actions piercing through as he watched you move through the ball, blissfully unaware of the history you once shared. Surrounded by the festive atmosphere, he felt a deep loss and the haunting echo of an irreversible mistake.
You looked happier and healthier than you had ever been. Deciding to not disturb the peace you created, he simply disappeared into his shadows, seeking out their comfort as he always had.

More Than A Feeling
Tumblr media
This was just a random idea to distract me from revising for my exams. I'm slightly obsessed with him at the moment and just wanted to write some fluff that would make me even more sad than i already am. I know I also said that I would be doing a bucky barnes fic but... i got distracted and now can't commit to writing it. I'll probably write it eventually but i can't bring myself to do it right now.
I was also listening to More Than A Feeling by Boston when writing this so... it stuck.
Just a small fic of Steve Harrington and a bookworm reader girlfriend who is also Dustin's sister after their first time and the "chaos" that ensues.
Warnings: Fluff fluff fluff, Suggestive, Both Steve's and Reader's 'first time'
Steve Harrington x Henderson!Reader
Dustin couldn't understand how it all happened or exactly when you stopped disliking the King of Hawkins but he was convinced it would all end in heartbreak. He did like Steve Harrington after he protected them all from all the dangers they had faced over the years. But dating his sister was a different matter.
To say he is overprotective of you would be an understatement.
You had spent your entire life protecting him from bullies and assholes and now it was his turn to keep you from the possible heartbreak that was Steve Harrington.
So when he peaked through the door to your room and saw the two of you curled round each other fast asleep, he couldn't help but feel upset and scared for you. It clearly wasn't the first time Steve had snuck through the window without anyone but you knowing and the thought brought disgust to his gut. He had invited his friends round as your parents were away. He now regretted the idea and wished he had agreed when Mike suggested his house instead.
He wasn't being dramatic, he had every right to believe that you could end up like all the other girls.
Before he could wake you both up, though, his friends had pulled him back and disappeared back into his room to discuss what they had just seen.
Steve, on the other hand, couldn't be happier.
Your head rests on his chest, arms wrapped round his body. A sheet covers you and he brings his hand up and down your arm gently as he gazes at you asleep. He has been like this since he woke up to see you curled round him, hair a mess, no makeup on and breathing softly onto his bare chest.
What had happened the night before had surprised you both, if he was quite honest with himself. He had been ready from the second date with you but you had made it clear that you wanted to wait. He had thought he was ready when he dated Nancy but when the time came, he froze and ruined the moment.
But now, here you were snuggled up close with memories of the night before playing through your dreams as your boyfriend watches over you lovingly. He can't remember ever loving anyone as much as he loves you and all he wants is to tell you, and keep you by his side till the day he dies.
Just as his hand stops grazing your arm, you roll over off of him and wriggle onto your side, still facing him. Your lips pull up into a brief smile before dropping again. He shifts his body onto his side too and props his head onto his arms, watching as your eyebrows pull together and your eyes flutter open slowly.
A huge grin falls onto his lips as you look up groggily with a bashful smile.
"Morning, beautiful." His voice is still husky from sleep and a thousand butterflies take flight in your stomach.
"Morning." You rub a hand over your eyes to try and wake up properly, to no avail.
"I was gonna make breakfast, if you're hungry." He lifts his head off his arm to give you a playful look that is sleepily returned.
He gets up from the bed and tries to track down his trousers and socks before perching on the edge of the bed to give you a soft kiss that lingers longer than usual.
His blushing face then leaves your eyesight and you roll onto your back with a disbelieving laugh, quickly covering your mouth to stifle it.
You were still questioning how the two of you were even together, total opposites from different sides of the school. The King and a bookworm.
You suppose, in a weird way, you could thank the horrors that you had both witnessed over the past two years for bringing you together. But you don't want to give the Upside-Down any credit for your happiness given it was a hell like no other.
You can still remember how much you had disliked him at first, the way he acted, the way he spoke to people, the way he made you feel about yourself. His "friends" had given you hell for years and when he had finally stood up to them and broken up with Nancy, you had seen the better version of Steve Harrington who laughed and smiled and actually cared without any fear of being judged.
As you lie on your back, you cans still feel the gentle press of his hands on your skin, hear the whispered words "Are you sure?". Still feel his face buried in the crook of your neck, hear the hushed laughter when he first appeared over you with a bashful "Hello."
It couldn't have been more perfect and you could smile forever in your new bliss.
You wrestle your way out of the warmth of the bedsheets, grabbing the closest article of clothing to you: his navy sweater from yesterday. The sleeves fall over your hands and you bunch it up in fists as you open the door and walk into the hallway.
Dustin's door is still closed and you creep past, so as not to wake him. He wouldn't quit poking fun at you or Steve if he saw you now so it was better to be safe than sorry to leave him sleeping in. It was the holidays anyway.
You're suddenly startled by the sound of pots and pans crashing against each other, followed by the sound of a terribly hidden string of curses as whoever spilled the contents of the cupboard tried (and failed) to catch them.
When you reach the kitchen door, you can see Steve busy at the stove, pots and pans sitting haphazardly on the counter and floor. Without a word, you lean against the doorframe, arms crossed, and watch him attempt to work the stove. A smile plays on your lips and eventually, you clear your throat quietly to get his attention.
He whips round, only to notice that it's you.
"Morning... again." You murmur softly, still smiling.
God, it was like you slept with a hanger in your mouth or something.
"Morning," He turns away as his cheeks blush bashfully, and you can't help but feel warmth at the thought of making Steve Harrington blush. The thought nearly turns your legs to jelly and you walk over to the stove to keep them working.
You swat his hands away from the buttons with a laugh and stand in his place to turn the stove on, hearing his almost silent "Oh." as you show him how to work it.
His arms snake their way round your middle and his chin falls onto your shoulder, your face heating at the contact. He places soft kisses on your shoulder, then your neck, and you run your hands along his forearms.
"Steve." You feel him hug you tighter at his name and his hum of acknowledgement is disguised by another kiss, "Last night..."
You trail off and he laughs against your neck, moving away to turn you round. His nose scrunches as your hands move to the ends of his hair out of habit and he sways slightly.
"Yeah?" You can tell he's wanting you to talk more and you repress a sigh.
"I just wanted to say I..." You can't seem to finish the sentence as you gaze into his eyes, the whole scene perfectly homely. You didn't want to ruin it with a love confession that might be rejected.
He watches you with curious smirk and you open your mouth to speak again but he cuts you off with a sweet, slow kiss.
Your hands move further into his hair and his pull you closer by the waist. More memories of meaningful kisses and the whispered confessions whilst pressed close together from last night resurface in your mind. The feeling of his hands, his lips, just his touch made your head spin and your forehead falls onto his, not breaking the kiss.
"Oh come on!"
Your brother's voice startles you both and you break apart, Steve keeping a hold of your waist.
Dustin stands in the doorway, his friends lingering in the hallway, awkwardly watching the scene playing out. You feel your face burn and turn to your boyfriend for help, but he seems entirely unfazed.
"A bit of privacy wouldn't kill you, Henderson." Steve grumbles, ignoring the disgust on Dustin's face.
"I live here." Dustin replies matter-of-factly, crossing his arms.
"And..?" You can't help but hold back a laugh at your boyfriend's oblivion and he pulls a face at you which lets the laughter escape.
Dustin pulls a different kind of face, "Well, when you two are finished grossing everyone out, I'd like some pancakes."
You roll your eyes and walk over to him, placing your hands on his shoulders to turn him round. He begins to protest but gives up when you give him a sharp pinch on either side.
"Just go upstairs and do whatever it is you do together there," You give him your most serious look you can muster with a stomach full of butterflies.
"Fine," He stomps up the stairs, "But I'm serious about those pancakes!"
You watch his friends follow him up, quickly noticing the two girls and yell up a quick "Leave the door open!" before turning to return to the kitchen.
Max stops and gives you a look that makes you freeze and eye her curiously.
"Yes?" You ask quietly.
"I was just thinking that the sweater is real subtle." Her eyes move along the sweater and you shift uncomfortably under them.
"I-I don't know what you mean..."
She snorts out a laugh and runs up the stairs.
"Nice hickey, by the way!" She yells after her and you throw a shoe up the stairs that hits her legs.
"Teenagers." You mutter under your breath and turn back to the kitchen to see Steve leaning against the counter, a smirk playing on his pretty lips.
"Want to tell me what's going on in that head of yours, Harrington?" Your voice is quiet and he closes the distance between the two of you in four long strides.
His thumb grazes your chin, pushing your face up to his before he kisses you again, a contented sigh escaping him. Once again, your hands find his messy hair and he grips the sweater with a little more power than before.
"God, I love you." His words are almost hidden against your lips but you freeze and pull away slightly, out of breath from both the kiss and his confession.
A blush creeps up his face and you can't help but smile before giving him another quick peck on his lips, relief filling you.
How can you have thought this man didn't love you enough to say it when he had blushed and grinned the entire morning. You love him to Jupiter and back a thousand times and realise, you had always really known he feels the same.
So, when the words leave your mouth and leave him a blushing mess, you can't help but know that this is your future.
You and him.
"I love you too."

“Hey there birthday girl,” you playfully huffed as you walked into Eddie’s shop, finding at the counter, pouring over some spreadsheets. He wasn’t bothered in the slightest by your response, pushing everything away in order to give you his full attention, “you look pretty.”
“It’s not my birthday, Eddie,” you hopped onto the counter without a second thought and Eddie leaned in to kiss you, lips lingering against yours, “hi.”
“Hi almost birthday girl,” he hand setted on the back of your neck as he pressed his forehead to yours. You groaned softly; your heart was both so happy at how sweet he was and heavy because you didn’t want him to make a big deal of your birthday. You’d never really been a fan of celebrations or parties, but Eddie insisted on doing something to celebrate you. You knew that he would listen and respect your wishes, which was one of the many things you loved about him. He always saw you, even when you felt invisible, “missed you today.”
“I missed you too,” you promised, putting your hand on his shoulder and giving it a gentle squeeze, "are you almost done here?"
"Yes ma'am," he tossed everything off the counter and onto the floor, causing you to laugh at his dramatics, "anything for you."
"Such a dork," you slid off the counter and held out your hand for him. He eagerly took your hand and brought it to his lips to press a kiss to your knuckles, “my dork.”
“And you’re mine too.”

"Hey," you couldn't sleep and had spent almost an hour staring at the ceiling. You weren't sure if Eddie was awake but figured it was worth a try, "Ed?"
"Hmm?" He rolled over so he was facing you, eyes closed and a sleepy smile on his face, "what's wrong baby?"
"Nothing," you sighed lightly, relaxing when you felt him reach for your hand, "its just…its dumb."
"Tell me."
"You don't have anything planned for my birthday right? I don't want a big celebration or anything," you exhaled slowly as he squeezed your hand, "I just don't want anything big. I'd rather just have it be another day."
“I know baby,” he scooted closer to you and nuzzled his face next to yours on the pillow. You felt his lips kiss the tip of your nose, “it’ll be just like any other day. If that’s what my baby wants for her birthday, that’s what she’ll get.”
“Thank you,” you closed your eyes and snuggled up to him; he instantly wrapped his arm around your waist, “I love you Eddie.”
“I love you,” and with that, you allowed yourself to relax and give into sleep, “so much.”
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
Your day at work had gone by without anything noteworthy happening. That would definitely have everything to do with the fact that you hadn’t told your coworkers or boss that it was your birthday. You knew that it was your personnel file somewhere, but you doubted anyone ever checked them. It still didn’t stop you from startling a few times and bracing yourself for the worst when your coworkers came up to you. But if anyone actually knew that it was your birthday, they didn’t comment on it.
Which was exactly what you wanted.
It wasn’t that you were vehemently against birthdays or celebrating them - you loved helping friends celebrate. You just didn’t want to celebrate your own. At first it seemed like Eddie had been upset when you told him you didn’t want to do anything, almost like it was some sort of slight, but he quickly came around and realized that it wasn’t personal. It was just your preference, and he always wanted to respect your wishes.
The only issue you’d experienced all day was the fact that Eddie seemed to be almost completely radio silent. You knew that some days he was extra busy and didn’t have a lot of time to text, but it was strange to hear nothing from him. You’d seen him when he left for work as you were getting ready, and he’d seemed fine. But now you were almost worried with how quiet he was being; you hoped he was okay.
When you pulled up to the house, not a single light was on. Only the porch light flipped on as you walked up to the front door. But Eddie’s truck was parked in his usual spot which didn’t do anything to reassure you. You almost ran inside, almost dropping your key in your haste to open the door.
“Eddie!?” you made your way into the kitchen and flicked on the lights to have some sort of balance.
“Surprise!” As soon as you flicked on the light, Eddie jumped out from the other side of the counter, blowing on a noisemaker with a little happy birthday hat on his mop of curls. You yelped in surprise and jumped back, clutching at your wildly beating heart.
“What the hell, Edward?” you took a moment to catch your breath as you looked around to see if anyone else was in your house. But you didn’t see any movement or anything to suggest anyone was there. He came around the counter and threw his arms around you, pulling you into a big, warm hug. You relaxed into his touch and hugged him back just as tightly, burying your face into the crook of his neck.
“Sorry baby,” he peppered kisses to the side of your head, rubbing your back soothingly, “I didn’t mean to scare you. I thought it would be a fun surprise.”
“Oh Eddie,” you pulled back and kissed him softly, “it’s definitely a surprise. I was starting to get worried since I hadn’t heard from you all day. I was hoping nothing happened, and then you had to go and give me a heart attack!”
“I was…I had to finish a few things up today on top of work so it was just a long day,” you could tell that he was being honest…but giving you all of the story. But you didn’t want to push him either - he always came around and told you the entire story, “I’m so sorry, sweetheart. I didn’t mean to be so absent today.”
“It’s okay - I’m glad you’re okay,” you took the noisemaker from his hand and blew into it loudly. That caused him to laugh, shaking his head fondly at you, “what’s all this for?”
“First of all, let me just say that I haven’t gone and planned a huge surprise party or anything. It’s just me and you,” his promise allowed you to relax, “I have a few things planned for tonight, if that sounds good to you.”
“Just you and me?” your voice was small as he beamed at you, big brown eyes bright and shining.
“Just you and me.”
“That sounds perfect,” the idea of spending some time along with your love sounded like the best thing in the world, “what’ve you got planned then? Should I be concerned?”
“Not at all,” but yeah, there was still that little mischievous glint in his eye, “but first things first.”
He ran into the living room before coming back with another party hat and putting on your head. You couldn’t help the laughter that bubbled up as Eddie snapped a few pictures of the two of you.
“I’ve ordered dinner from your favorite place - it’s on the way and should be here soon,” as if on cue your stomach started to rumble, “I didn’t think about asking if you wanted to eat at the restaurant, fuck! But I figured it might be nice if it’s just here with the two of us.”
“That sounds perfect,” you promised, “can we also change into pajamas and eat on the couch?”
“Blankets are already on the couch and I already put out the clean pajamas," he was such a sweetheart, always thinking of the things you liked. Your expression softened as he slowly started to usher you toward the bedroom, "but I think we have just enough time to take a hot shower before the food is here and we get comfortable."
"Eddie…I - this is wonderful," the way your face lit up was enough to make it all worth it. Truthfully he would have done anything for you, but then again, you would have done the same for him, "you didn't have to do all this though. Seriously."
"It's your birthday," he reminded you, "and even if you don't want a big celebration or want to make a big deal of it or anything, I want to do something special for my girl. I want to celebrate you. I love you, you know.”
“Yeah,” you blinked back a few tears that his sweet words had caused to spring up as you took one of his hands in both of yours and held it gently, “I love you too, Eddie. Thank you for all of this, it’s…wonderful. This is perfect. Are you going to join me in this shower?”
“Only if you want me to…”
“Of course I do,” this time you were pulling him to the bathroom, already trying to pull off your clothes in your haste to get into the shower. The two of you were fumbling around as you turned on the shower and tried to pull off his and your clothes. Hasty kisses were exchanged along with soft smiles and laughter; the two of you were just so…meant to be. That’s what Eddie always said and you didn’t disagree with him. It was all true.
“C’mon,” Eddie pulled back the curtain to make sure the water was warm enough for the two of you, “let me take care of you.”
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
By the time the two of you were on the couch, clean and in fresh pajamas with the remnants of dinner spread on the coffee table, you were already growing tired. The shower had been so warm and comforting, along with Eddie going down on you which he insisted was part of celebrating you, and the food was delicious. It all led to you feeling the tiredness in your bones as you cuddled with him on the couch, with warm and soft blankets covering the two of you.
“Don’t go falling asleep on me, pretty girl,” your head was resting on his chest, lulled by the steady beating of his heart. You mumbled something in response as he pressed a kiss to the side of your head.
“I’m not,” you insisted softly, badly stifling a yawn as you pulled back and blinked up at him with heavy, sleepy eyes, “just resting my eyes for a moment.”
“Mhmm,” he tenderly took your chin in his hand and turned your face up to his, “is that why you were snoring?”
“Was not!” your lips pulled in a playful little pout as you looked at him. He raised an eye but didn’t say anything, “I was just heavily breathing as I watched the movie.”
“Is that so?”
“Mhmm.”
“Alright then, what’s happened in the movie so far?” judging from the surprised look on your face, Eddie knew that he had you trapped. You opened and closed your mouth a few times before leaning up and kissing him. You figured if there was one way to shut him up it was through a kiss. He leaned into you, your lips still sugary sweet from dessert, “it’s not really an answer but I’m willing to accept that.”
“As you should, my love,” you managed to work your into his lap, snuggling up to him and wrapping your arms around his neck, “thank you for tonight - everything. It means the world to me - you mean the world to me.”
“Well, if you’re amenable, I have a little something for you - another little thing. But it’s actually tangible,” your eyes widened in curiosity as he nodded, “so…yeah.”
“You didn’t have to get me anything,” you loved him. You really loved him, “ugh, stop, you’re so disgustingly amazing.”
“Anything for you,” he pressed kisses to your cheeks, forehead, nose and stopped at your lips, “and I’m really excited for you to have it. It’s - can I go and grab it?”
“And just who would I be to say no?” you slid off his lap and cuddled up in the corner of the couch under both blankets, “I’ll allow it.”
“Be right back!” he almost jumped off the couch as he ran into the bedroom. You heard him rummaging around for a few minutes before he came back out, his arms behind his back, “close your eyes.”
You eagerly complied and made a show of squeezing your eyes closed and draping one arm over your eyes. Eddie snorted in amusement as he reached for your free hand and set something small and square into it.
“Alright - you can go ahead and open your eyes,” as soon as you did, he watched your face go through several different expressions as you tried to figure out what the small wrapped item was. You pulled off the big, golden bow and looked at him, “go on - open it.”
You slid your finger under the messily wrapped paper - you loved that about him - and pulled out the item inside. Your face turned into a huge grin as you realized what you were holding - a mixtape. An actual, real life, mixtape. You weren't sure if you'd ever seen held one before.
“Eddie. Y-you made me a mixtape?” you felt the tears prick up again as he nodded excitedly, biting on his bottom lip.
“It’s not just any old mixtape either,” he watched as you turned it around and looked at the label, “it’s your favorite songs but umm, well, it’s all Corroded Coffin covers. I think it’d be neat you know to have something just your own, so yeah. I-I hope you like it.”
“Edward Munson,” you jumped up and quickly closed the small distance between your bodies, almost throwing yourself into his arms. He let out a nervous laugh, relieved at your reaction. It had been an idea he’d had for a long time, but it was never anything he’d actually planned on doing. Then one day, he realized just how much he wanted to do this for you. He felt your tears soak into the thin fabric of his t-shirt and gently rubbed your back, “this is the nicest and most special thing anyone has ever done for me. I love it. So much.”
“You haven’t even listened to it yet baby,” every nerve and worry he’d had about sharing this was relieved, “can’t judge it just yet.”
“I can and I will,” you took his face in your hands and kissed him sweetly, “I can’t wait to listen to it. I love this so much. Thank you.”
“Happy birthday baby,” he put his hand on your face and brushed his thumb over your cheek, “to this one and to many more. I love you so much.”
“I love you, Eddie,” you looked towards the old radio that was next to the vintage record player; Eddie followed your line of sight as his smile grew, “you’ve made this one of the best and most special birthdays ever. Can we give this a listen?”
“Oh, you don’t have to…are you sure?”
“Of course!” you bounced over and popped the cassette in, “and it’s still my birthday and this is one of my few requests. And that you dance with me.”
“What if it’s not danceable?” he took your hand that was already outstretched to him, as you pulled him closer.
“Then we’ll make it danceable,” you sighed softly as he kissed you, reaching behind you and hitting play, “you’re going to have a lot to live up to next year.”
“Don’t worry, I plan on surpassing even your biggest expectations,” he wrapped his arms around you and pulled you close, “was this okay then? Nothing too much or not enough?”
“This was perfect,” you promised, “I couldn’t think of anything better. Best birthday ever.”
The new mixtape became a part of your regular rotation.
It was your favorite gift ever.

"you'll be there, right?"
"are you kidding me? i wouldn't miss it for the world."
"where's dick?" your mother asked as you took a seat next to her at the dinner table. she was expecting the young man's presence, having gone as far to prepare one of his favorite side dishes and a little extra to take home. "i thought you said he was coming tonight?"
"more excited to see him than me, hm?" you joked, attempting to avoid your mother's question. she gave you a deadpanned stare, causing you to sigh dramatically before answering. "he told me that he couldn't make it a few hours ago, i just forgot to tell you."
"oh, honey..." your mom started, but you shook your head and offered her a reassuring smile.
"ma, it's not a big deal. i told him we could just celebrate another time," you lied, resting a hand on her shoulder as she gave you a sympathetic smile. your eldest brother sat across from you, having noticed dick's absence, but chose not to mention it. having heard the topic of conversation, he grabs your attention to congratulate you.
you were a small fashion designer, often dealing with making pieces for special events for the small city of bludhaven. you work out of a small shop that you rent with some of the money from your designs as well with the income from being a art teacher for the local elementary school. you took a leap of faith and sent a few of your designs to a big name corporations and they loved them, immediately offering you a position. this was your dream and everyone was excited for you.
and now, you're at the celebratory dinner your parents planned in your honor. the same dinner that dick was supposed to be at, pouring you a glass of merlot. he hadn't said a word. he hasn't answered your calls nor your texts. you tried to give him the benefit of the doubt, trying to convince yourself that this was just a misunderstanding on his part, but you couldn't help but care about his absence.
but this was your night. so, you sucked it up and smiled for the pictures with your friends and family. you laughed at the jokes. you even gave a big teary speech with the power of brandy.
"did you drive tonight?" your second eldest brother asked, watching as you swayed a bit before turning to look at him.
"no. i figured i'd have a ride home given that this was my celebration and i knew i'd drink, but..." you shrugged. "i'll probably just get a taxi."
"get in," he opens the passenger door, gesturing for you to get it. "i'll give you a ride."
you stared at him for a few seconds before giving him a drunken smile. "awww big brother, you're too kind."
"yeah, yeah. just remember me when you're rich and famous with your own fashion line, okay?" he said as you got into the passenger seat, drunkenly settling in the seat before turning to him and giving him a cheery smile and a thumbs up. he huffed a laugh before closing his car door.
he rounds the car, gets in, and begins to drive. he glances over at you before sighing at the melancholic gaze in your eyes.
"so," he started, his tone gentle. you perked up at the sound of his voice, turning your head to look at him. "dick didn't show."
"yeah," you sighed out, turning away to look out the window. "he didn't come."
"why?" he asked the pressing question that you were sure many others wanted to ask at the dinner as they noticed the empty chair to your left.
"he just... didn't come."
"you two fighting or something? because i can't seem to think of another reason as to why he wouldn't—" your brother started but you cut him off.
"i don't really wanna talk about it," you rubbed eyes, effectively messing up your makeup for the night. you didn't want to talk about how your best friend wasn't there to celebrate your greatest achievement to date. that was a tomorrow ( read: next week ) problem. "he didn't come. that's it."
there was a pause before he sighed. "okay."
"okay," you repeated, slouching back in your seat before smiling to yourself. "drop me off at the bar by my apartment? i could use one more drink."
"i think you've had enough to drink for one night," he responded as the parking garage of your apartment building came in the view.
as he pulled toward the gate of the garage, you looked out the window, noticing a familiar figure sitting on the hood of a car in front of your apartment building. you let another tired sigh before looking ahead of you.
"yeah, you're probably right."
Tumblr media
you woke up to someone pounding on your door, coupled with the pounding headache as a consequence from last night's drinking. you remove yourself from your bed, dragging your feet over to your door as the knocking continued.
"yeah, yeah, i heard you the first time," you groan as you open the door, keeping the chain lock secured as you did so. you rubbed your eyes as you asked "what?"
"y/n," you startled at the sound of his voice, immediately looking up and being met with the guilty gaze of dick grayson with a bouquet in his hand. hurt and anger filled you as you rush to close your door, unsuccessful as he shoved his foot in the crack of the door. "y/n, please. i'm sorry! just-just listen to me for a second."
"go fuck yourself, grayson," you said, leaning your full body weight on the door as you tried to get it to close despite his foot being in the way. "move your foot or i'm gonna fucking break it."
"just let me in so we can talk, y/n. okay? i just wanna talk," he begged as he tried to push the door open and away from his throbbing foot.
"i said, move. your. fucking. foot." you emphasized your words as you threw your body against your door, further crushing his foot. he removed his foot, allowing you to close your door. you leaned against it as the tears welled up in your eyes.
"y/n, please. just let me in. i know i fucked up, just let me in, so we can talk," he spoke through the door. you scoffed aloud, shaking your head at the desperation in his voice. you thought about leaving him there to talk to the door as you wallowed in self pity in your bed, but your hoping heart got in the way of your vengeful mind. you stood up and undid the chain lock before open the door and walking away, allowing him to let himself in.
"why?" was the first thing you said when he closed the door behind him.
"y/n, i know you're upset—" he started, but you shook your head.
"why didn't you come?" you asked again.
"i didn't mean to flake on you like that. okay, you know you mean the world to me. i just got so caught up yesterday, y'know? like with work and barbara, i just lost track of—"
"barbara? you missed the dinner because you were with barbara?" your voice cracked as you stared at him in disbelief.
barbara.
it was always barbara.
it was barbara when he didn't come out with you for your 21st birthday. it was barbara when he missed all 10 of your calls when you found out your apartment was broken into and you just needed a place to crash for the night. it was barbara when you got rejected from your dream fashion academy and dick was the one person you wanted to comfort you and tell you that you were still good enough.
it was barbara when you finally worked up the courage to tell dick that you had been in love with him since you first met and he tells you that he finally got barbara to agree to give him a chance.
and each time, you sucked it up and forgave him, whether he knew he hurt you or not.
"yeah, i had some time to kill before the dinner and she asked me to come see her. and i mean, she's my girlfriend, so of course i went. and then i realized that it had gotten pretty late and by the time i would've gotten to the dinner, it would've been over. i came by last night, waiting for you to come back. i got this big bouquette and a cake from that shop on 2nd—" he rambled, sitting the flowers down on the counter and pacing across the floor as he tried to redeem himself.
"you missed my dinner for barbara? the dinner that my family, who lives 3 hours away, planned to celebrate me achieving the one thing that i've wanted since i could write...for barbara? for a little alone time with your girlfriend? you mean i sat through two hours of my mom coddling me because the one person i wanted to celebrate with, who i wanted to support me, didn't show because you were with barbara?" you interjected, fighting tears and swallowing the lump in your throat. dick stopped his pacing to look at you, a huge sigh leaving his body as he scratched the back of his neck.
the two of you stood in silence as you stared at the nervous man in front of you. dick opened and closed his mouth, searching for something to say as he notice the quivering of your bottom lip and the dewy glaze of your eyes.
"yeah," he broke the silence. "i know i fucked up yesterday, but that's why i'm here now. i wanted to fix my fuck up. y'know, take you out for like breakfast or to the art museum a few towns over with the fashion exhibit i told you about. we can spend the whole day out celebrating."
"well, i don't want to celebrate today. the time to celebrate was yesterday at dinner which you missed so," you shrugged at him, turning around walk into your kitchen area, hoping to contain your emotions for a few more seconds.
"i know this is important to you, okay, and i'm sorry that i missed the dinner yesterday, but i think you're being a little unfair to me, right now. i mean, i know that we're best friends and we always want to be there for each other, but i also have a life of my own. you can't always have me, y/n," he said.
you can't always have me, y/n.
the words rang through your mind as your head fell forward and your shoulders began to shake as the dam broke. your tears fell rapidly as you silently cried, refusing to make a sound to save the little bit of dignity you had left.
maybe you were being unfair. it was just a dinner and he was trying to make it up to you now. he was a busy man and you knew that, so him clearing his schedule for you was a good sign that he was sorry. and beside, he was right. you couldn't have him.
but just a little part of you, a very naive part, hoped that you could one day matter more that barbara when it came to dick.
you sniffled and let out a weak laugh. "you know what, you're right. i can't expect to have you all the time."
"y/n, you know i didn't mean it like that," he tried, approaching you to pull you into a hug as your tears still fell. you pulled away from him as you moved to lean on the sink. you crossed your arms before letting out another watery laugh and looking at the man.
"i think you should go home," you give him your best smile. it was strained and shaky, but it was all you could muster up.
"y/n, what about the museum—" he tried again. you shook your head for the umpteenth time.
"i'm not up for it today. you can make it up to me some other time but i really can't look at your face right now," you walked to your front door and held it open, waiting for him to walk out.
"no. i'm leaving you here to cry because i missed your dinner," he looked at you, frustrated that you suggested that he left you alone in the state that you were in.
"it's not about the dinner, dick," you exasperated. "i just think you should go. i'll give you a call when i'm free, okay?"
"y/n..." he started, not moving from his spot.
"dick, please leave," you finalized, gesturing to the door as you held it open. he began to walk to the door, dropping his head in shame. "take the flowers, too."
"the fl—you love daisies."
"barbara loves daisies. i like lillies. i appreciate the thought, but i think you should take them, too," you told him. he looked at the bouquet on counter before retreiving it and making his way out the door. he was silent as he left out of your apartment. he stopped in front of you for a few seconds, opening and closing his mouth a few time before leaving. you closed the door lightly behind him and slid down the door, resting your back against it as you allowed yourself to cry once more.
nothing is the world belongs to me, but my love, mine, all mine.
nothing in the world is mine for free, but my love, mine, all mine, all mine.

with you and i - lee haechan
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
listen to: summer nights by the millennial club and die right here by david hugo genre: fluff, hopelessly in love badboy!haechan wc: 938 warnings: written in lowercase only
a/n: this is for the anon that requested a pt 2 to all i see is you :)
Tumblr media
"it's always so nice with you." you peer over at haechan, catching him totally staring at you already. "how do you do that?"
"do what?" he scoots a bit closer to you on the bench. the cotton sky remains above the both of you and in this world, only you and haechan exist.
"make me feel so happy." your pinkies lightly touch, as you lean into him playfully at the serious statement. your smile is so shy that it tugs at haechan's heartstrings.
he knew the exact date to take you on and it wasn't what you two did for it to be perfect. it was how he made you feel so incredibly special to him. he doesn't know why you finally gave him a chance, but he was so thankful.
while you two hung out, he was very conscious of the boundary that being friends set. nonetheless, this date changes how he normally treats you. he could finally show you just how loving he could be. just how much he was in love with you.
under this summer sunset with you, he couldn't believe he found a love he's been dreaming of. around you, he could barely breathe. there weren't many things in the world that makes lee haechan nervous or even the slightest concern.
but you should know, that you're the only one that makes his palms sweat and his heart to race a million beats per second. you're the only person he would drop everything for.
if you wanted him to stop such a dangerous lifestyle, he would. you just had to say it. say that you want him and he'd be at your side in a flash.
"this feeling doesn't have to end." haechan tries to poke the bear, trying to see how much you're willing to give to him. all he wants is to see that bright smile shining on your pretty face. and if he was greedy enough, he wanted to be the reason behind every one of them.
you shoot him a quick look, but a sigh escapes your lips. "i don't know if i could do this to you without feeling like you deserve more than me."
shaking his head, his right hand lands on your knee to soothe any doubt in your mind. "there is nothing else in this world worth more than you. i could die right now and i'd be satisfied that i got to spend a date with you in this lifetime."
"don't be dramatic." you laugh and shit, he can't hold back his own dreamy smile at your contagious charm. the way your head is thrown back and pure happiness under these pink skies.
"i'm not the most into theatrics, you know that." haechan opens his palm up for you to take it. secretly, he is wishing upon every star, blowing out every candle, tossing every penny into fountains that you'd hold his hand.
when you show signs of hesitation, haechan respects it. he wants you to come to him on your own. "i want you, y/n, not in any malicious way. i want you in the way where you'd look at me like i'm the love you've been waiting for."
the silence creeps up on the both of you. haechan's hand still faced palm up on your knee and you're staring up at the summer sky, choosing your next words very carefully.
you love haechan as much as the moon loved their sun, it's a connection that is hard to ignore. you've always been so focused on your career that love was an after thought. however, with the love that haechan makes you feel is whole and free. you didn't have to think about anything, but him.
"you are the love i've dreamt of." and the look in your eyes is more than mesmerizing, the combination of your words and gaze causes him to freeze in his place. "i never told you, but i was falling in love with you."
"was it the near death experience or my totally not trashed apartment?" he doesn't know why he's making these unserious comments right now, maybe the mood was feeling too stuffy and too real. he couldn't believe what you were saying to him.
you don't laugh this time, instead, your fingers intertwine with his as you accept his hold so willingly. your grip is tight and haechan can feel his chest explode with fireworks from this contact.
"it's the way you sacrifice and the deepness of your love." his pupils dilate and his heart thumps against his ribcage so hard that he knows you can hear it. the way you have with words is absolutely poetic and he'll find himself falling in love with you over and over again.
you see him through and through. his vulnerability to you is so raw, so open. it's as if the heat of the summer night fills his lungs and he can breathe so easily around you. just how do you do that?
"y/n, i promise that i'd keep you safe and most importantly, really happy." haechan kisses the back of your hand, sealing the promise with his lips. "we don't have to date if you don't want to, but just let me be there for you."
"hyuck, let me lay with you tonight." your graceful words strike him before he could continue. the breeze in your hair adds to this incredible vision of you, not that you aren't already a beautiful sight on your own.
"as you like." with you and him here together, these are the blissful moments that haechan knows love is real.

✦ ⎯⎯ㅤִㅤ୭ ୨♡୧ ৎㅤִ ⎯⎯ ✦
Your brother knows how much you loved JJ, you two were lovebirds you couldn't get your eyes off your brother's best friend and neither couldn't he.
-"hey Y/n, it's been a while since you and JJ haven't talked to each others, what's wrong?" John B shows up in your room, you were laying on your bed looking through the window.
His voice brings you back to reality, -"uh? What did you say?" You glance at him sheepishly bringing your knees together against your chest.
He sighs sitting on the edge of the bed, -"i haven't seen you talk with JJ in a while" tears are starting to well up in your eyes when you hear his name, you didn't know if it comes from the sadness or the anger growing in your stomach.
You lower your head to your knees, -" i confessed to JJ but uh, he told me it wasn't going to work" you cut yourself off when you start sobbing, bringing the sleeve of your shirt to wipe off your tears.
John B purses his lips feeling pity as he looks at you thinking about what to say to try comforting you.
-"hey uh you know what? I'm going to talk with JJ about this alright?" He gives you a little smile, standing up from your bed.
·𖥸·
He walks out of the house, making his way to find his bestfriend, that's when he finds him against his motorcycle he seems to be lost in his thoughts as well.
John B snaps at him getting him back to reality -"yo dude we need to talk" JJ jolts dramatically at his presence, holding onto his motorcycle as he straighten up.
-"man! What's wrong?" He greats him up by shaking his hand, nudging his shoulders.
John B being anxious rubs the back of his neck, he clears his throat.
-"tell me what's happening with you and my sister? You two have stopped talking to each others or what?" JJ's eyes widen, fully expecting him to bring out this topic.
He clears his throat as well, trying to find the words, -"men, listen i love her more than anything a'right? But you're my bro, I can't lose you for a girl, specially if she's your sister" he looks at him lowering his voice.
-"JJ.. she's been losing her mind since you two stopped talking!" John B chuckles, he can't believe his best friend stopped talking with his little sister only because he's affraid to lose him.
-"come on JJ, this is the best thing ever if you and my sis are dating dude! You have to tell her how you really feel" JJ smiles at his words, he was affraid of how John B would react about him dating his sister.
John B embraces him in his arms nudging his back -"On one condition, you break her heart, I destroy your motorcycle" John B laughs glancing between him and his motorcycle.
JJ steps back smirking, -"you have my word, i'll take good care of your sister" he exclaims as they begin to walk making their way at home.
·𖥸·
Opening the door, your face lights up as soon as you see JJ standing behind John B.
-"JJ?" You whisper, a tear starting to well up in your eyes, he smiles back at you and wraps his arms around you to lift you up, and place his lips over yours, kissing you deeply.
Meanwhile, John B still stand there infront of you too, rolling his eyes.
-"a'right hey! I'm right here" he huffs but deep down he was feeling happy for the two of you, and proud of himself for getting you and JJ back together.

max verstappen x fem!reader

୨ৎ back one page ୨ৎ back two pages
୨ৎ Max realizes that the only true competition he faces for your affection is your love of heels, but in the end, it's all the same—like how he loves cats.
Tumblr media
Max was mid-sentence, his voice filled with enthusiasm as he animatedly talked about the cats he'd grown up with, the ones he wanted in the future, and every little thing about them that made his heart melt. You were sitting beside him on the couch in your apartment, legs tucked under you as you listened—or, at least, tried to listen.
You loved how Max's eyes lit up whenever he talked about something he was passionate about. It was one of the things you adored most about him. But as he continued to gush about cats, your mind started to wander, your gaze drifting from his expressive face to the way his lips curved with every word, the soft lisp that would peek through, to the soft glow of the setting sun that filtered through the curtains, casting a golden hue on his skin.
In your head, his words started to blur. "Blah blah blah," your inner voice chimed in, and you couldn't help but let out a small, amused sigh, even as you smiled at him. You weren't really listening anymore; you were too busy thinking about how much you liked this guy. How much you wanted to kiss his face till his lips were smudged with your lip gloss and plump with the increased blood flow. How much you liked sitting here on this couch with him, in your apartment, as if it were the most natural thing in the world.
And it was, wasn't it? Things had been moving fast between you two, but not in a way that felt rushed or uncomfortable. It was just... right. The way he fit into your life, and you into his, felt almost effortless. You could easily imagine this being your life from now on, just the two of you, doing mundane things like talking about cats or—
“Hey.” Max’s voice broke through your thoughts, and you blinked, suddenly realizing he had stopped talking and was looking at you with a curious smile. “Where’d you go just now?”
You blinked again, a little sheepishly, caught red-handed in your daydreaming. “Sorry,” you murmured, biting your lip. “I kind of zoned out there for a second.”
He laughed, a warm, comforting sound that made your heart skip a beat. “I could tell. I was talking about how adorable they are when they knead, and you just looked like you were a million miles away.”
“Sorry,” you repeated, though you weren’t really sorry at all. You were too busy admiring how relaxed he seemed here in your space, his arm draped across the back of the couch, his hand resting casually on your shoulder.
Max gave you a teasing look. “So, what is it that’s got you so distracted? What’s your thing? The one you can talk about for hours?”
You grinned, a sudden surge of excitement bubbling up inside you. “I’m so glad you asked!” You jumped up from the couch, practically bouncing on your feet. “Stay here!”
Before he could say anything, you darted off, leaving him sitting there with a bewildered expression. He could hear the satisfying sound of the repetitive clicks your heels made fade out to the front door. You made your way to the small set of hooks near your front door where you kept your keys, quickly grabbing a singular, shiny key from the ring.
Max was still watching you, curious and amused, when you returned. You took his hand, the key clutched tightly in your other one, and pulled him to his feet. “Come with me,” you said, your voice laced with excitement.
He followed you willingly, a grin playing on his lips as you led him down the hallway to a door he hadn’t noticed before. You stopped in front of it, turning to face him with a dramatic flourish.
“Okay,” you said, holding up the key. “This is something I’ve never shown anyone before.”
Max raised an eyebrow, clearly intrigued. “You’re making this sound very mysterious.”
You giggled, your fingers itching to unlock the door. “It kind of is. It’s... well, you’ll see.”
With that, you inserted the key into the lock, the door clicking open. You pushed it inward and stepped aside, allowing Max to see inside first. His eyes widened as he took in the sight before him.
The room was massive, far larger than any of the other bedrooms in your apartment. Shelves lined the walls from floor to ceiling, each one filled with row upon row of high heels, ranging from the simple and practical to the absolutely extravagant.
“Wow,” Max breathed, stepping into the room as if he were entering a museum. “This is... incredible.”
You beamed, stepping in after him and closing the door behind you. “Welcome to my world,” you said, spreading your arms wide.
Max turned in a slow circle, taking it all in. “I had no idea you had so many...”
“Heels,” you finished for him, walking over to one of the shelves. You carefully picked up a pair of bright red stilettos, the very pair you had been wearing the first time you met Max. “These are my babies,” you said with a fond smile. “Every single pair here has a story. Some of them I’ve worn to important events, some of them were just for fun, and others... well, others are just because they're really pretty.”
You gestured to the red stilettos. “These are the ones I was wearing the night we met.”
Max’s expression softened as he looked at the heels, then back at you. “I remember those. You looked amazing in them.”
Your heart fluttered at his words, "It wasn't long after you told me you drove for Red Bull, and I thought you were the red team. So I bought red shoes." and you carefully placed the stilettos back on the shelf before moving to another pair, these ones a slingback pump in a deep black. “These are what I wore to my first day at university,” you said, running a finger along the strap. “I felt so confident in them. Like I could take on the world.”
You continued moving around the room, pointing out different pairs and sharing the stories behind them. There were the heels you wore on your first date with Max, the ones you had worn to the one and only F1 race you had ever attended, and even the pair you wore when you first visited his apartment.
“This room,” you said, turning to face him once more, “is my sanctuary. I have enough pairs in here to last me a year and a half, one for each day. And I have even more at my mum’s place.”
Max stared at you, a look of awe and admiration in his eyes. “This is... I don’t even know what to say. It’s amazing.”
You smiled, feeling a rush of warmth at his reaction. It meant a lot to you that he appreciated this part of your life, this passion of yours that was so deeply personal.
As you were about to lead him out of the room, a sudden thought struck you, and you frowned. “Wait a minute...”
Max tilted his head, watching as you pulled out your phone and quickly scrolled through your gallery. “What’s wrong?”
“One of my pairs is missing,” you said, your brow furrowing in concentration as you searched for a picture. “I took a photo of all of them a few months ago, and I’m pretty sure I haven’t moved this pair since.”
Max leaned over to look at the screen, his eyes scanning the picture of the shelf in question. “Which ones?”
“These,” you said, pointing to a pair of elegant silver heels with delicate ankle straps. “I can’t find them anywhere.”
Max thought for a moment, then his eyes widened slightly. “Wait, I think I’ve seen those...”
You looked up at him, hope sparking in your chest. “Really? Where?”
“At my place,” he said slowly, as if piecing it together himself. “I remember seeing a pair like that in my closet the other day. I thought they were just an old pair of yours you’d left behind.”
Your eyes lit up, and you grabbed his hand. “We have to go get them!”
Max chuckled at your urgency but nodded, more than happy to indulge you. “Alright, let’s go.”
As you started to head for the door, you paused, glancing down at your feet. Without a second thought, you kicked off the heels you were currently wearing and made a beeline for another pair, these ones a dainty pink with straps above the toes and on the ankle.
Max raised an eyebrow as you slipped them on. “why did you change shoes?”
You grinned at him, holding up your old heels you were wearing. “These are my house heels,” you said matter-of-factly. “Can’t go out in these, obviously.”
He shook his head with a laugh, watching as you placed the slippers by the front door. “You’re something else, you know that?”
You just smiled, grabbing your purse and rushing out to Max’s car, your excitement palpable. As you slid into the passenger seat, Max couldn’t help but glance over at you, a soft smile on his face.
This was you, in all your quirks and passions, and he realized in that moment just how much he loved you. Even more than he had before, if that was possible.
As he started the car and pulled out of your driveway, he couldn’t help but feel like the luckiest guy in the world, knowing that he got to be a part of your life. He couldn’t wait to see where this journey would take the two of you, one step—or in your case, one heel—at a time.

Natasha Romanoff x Female!Reader
Tumblr media
‼️I ask those who may be triggered by drugs, addiction or Mental health issues not to read this story.‼️
Summary: You dealing with drug addiction post the loss of your girlfriend, Kate. Natasha aids you through withdrawal, relapses, and recovery.
Warnings: explicit descriptions of Drug use, withdrawal, Mental Health, Angst, Angst, Angst
Word count: 8,9k
A/n: Okayyy, something different today. PLEASE if you want/need help, you always can come to me. I know that I'm not qualified to be a contact person on this topic, but I'm open to everything and am here for support.🫂
You feel a lingering fear of sharing your newfound feelings for Kate, despite Natasha's reassuring presence. The uncertainty gnawed at you, making you hesitate before bringing up a topic you'd never spoken openly about before.
“Nat,” you began hesitantly, your eyes reflecting a mix of nervousness and curiosity. “Um, can I ask you something personal?”
Natasha, sharp as ever, nodded with an encouraging smile. “Of course, Y/N. You can ask me anything."
You take a deep breath, your words stumbling slightly. “Well, you know, about…feelings. How did you feel when you realized you liked women?”
A subtle change in Natasha's expression showed you understanding. She leaned back and turned her thoughtful gaze to you. “It’s like a journey..Recognizing that you are attracted to women, or anyone, can be both liberating and confusing. Society may have its expectations, but the heart knows what it wants.”
Carefully, you listened intently as Natasha continued, “It's about being attracted to someone, wanting to be close to them, and caring deeply for their well-being. It's not always loud or dramatic; sometimes it's a quiet understanding that grows over time."
You took in Natasha's words, a subtle smile playing on your lips. Encouraged by Natasha's wisdom, you hesitated for a moment before revealing your own feelings. "Well, there's someone on the team...Kate...and I don't know, I just feel different around her. It’s like my heart skips a beat when she’s around and I can’t stop thinking about her.”
Natasha, with a knowing gleam in your eyes, teased you gently, “Ah, young love. It sounds like you’ve already figured it out, Y/N.”
Blushing, you confessed, “I never thought I would feel this way. It’s confusing, but… it feels good.”
Natasha laughed heartily and placed a comforting hand on your shoulder. “Love is often like that, Y/N. Take your time, enjoy the journey, and don't be afraid to explore those feelings. Life is full of surprises."
With Natasha's guidance and a newfound understanding, you embarked on the gentle path of love discovery, with Kate's presence in your heart casting a gentle glow on the canvas of possibilities before you.
And it was good that you confided in Natasha. Not just with tips, but now also with actions. It didn't take long for Kate to notice your feelings. You still remember hiding from her when you found out she found out. But it turns out that Kate also felt the same about you and had spoken to Clint about tips.
And that was almost 2 years ago now. The team was happy when you made your relationship public and supported you every step of the way. Since then, the tower has also become a little brighter.
Kate and you once decided to cook a meal together and you turned the kitchen into a lively space full of laughter and shared glances. Steve, curious about the excitement, joined you and offered to add his touch to the recipe. Amid the chaos, Natasha couldn't help but smile at the domestic bliss that was unfolding.
Or when The Team met for a movie night and you both immediately secured the prime spot on the couch. As the movie began, Tony joked, "I hope you two left some room for the rest of us.." Laughter echoed through the room as you and Kate playfully made room for the others.
Everyone was happy for you both. When Kate planned a surprise date night, she whisked herself away to a rooftop deck decorated with fairy lights and a picnic offering. The team in on the plan secretly helped create the romantic atmosphere. Natasha, watching from a distance, couldn't help but appreciate the love that had blossomed among their ranks.
These sweet and heartwarming moments highlighted the joy and camaraderie you and Kate brought to the team, creating a fabric of shared experiences and laughter within the walls of the Tower.

In the shadow of a moonlit night, the Avengers set out on a mission with an atmosphere of tension hanging heavy in the air. You and Kate, now a formidable duo, moved with precision, your every step choreographed by years of shared experiences and unspoken understanding. However, the mission took an unexpected turn when a swarm of enemies descended on them.
Amid the chaos of the mission, you two were temporarily separated and each placed with other team members. The air crackled with tension as the enemies closed in, testing the Avengers' courage. You, who was fighting alongside another teammate, felt a shiver run down her spine as a call echoed through her communication device.
“Y/n, we need you here. Now!” Steve’s urgent voice cut through the commotion, sending a chilling sense of foreboding through your veins. Panic gripped your heart as you sprinted across the battlefield, dodging incoming threats with the determination to reach them.
When you arrived at the scene, your worst fears came true before your eyes. The team, a gathering, stood around Kate's fallen form in a heartbreaking tableau. Natasha's typically stoic expression betrayed deep sadness and Steve's eyes, which were usually a beacon of hope, were clouded with sadness.
Your legs felt like lead as you got closer, a disbelieving whisper escaping your lips. "No no no..."
Kate, lying amidst the team's muted grief, managed a weak smile as you knelt next to her. “H-Hey,” she croaked, blood staining her lips. Your hands shook as you reached out, a desperate attempt to hold on to the slipping threads of life.
“Kate... We can fix this. Someone, help her!” your voice rose to a desperate plea as your eyes scanned the team for a glimmer of hope. But the weight of realization eased as the team exchanged dark looks.
Natasha, her voice barely above a whisper, spoke words that cut through the sorrow. “Y/n, it’s-.”
"NO!" The team that witnessed the heartbreaking exchange was in collective fear. Clint, his otherwise sharp mind silenced, stared at the scene with tear-streaked eyes. Natasha, a pillar of strength now crumbling, approached with a heavy heart, knowing the cruel truth that was unfolding before them.
Kate gathered her last reserves of strength and raised a hand to gently caress your cheek. "I think it's my time... Promise me...promise me you'll keep fighting, p-please.."
“I can’t lose you, Kate. I can’t,” you choked on your words, your hands shaking as you held on to the fleeting fragments of a love that was slipping away from you.
“Help her! Please, someone help her!” your pleas fell on deaf ears as the team stood in collective grief, each struggling with the weight of an irreparable tragedy.
The air became filled with sadness as Kate's breathing grew weaker. With one last, tender look, she whispered, "I will always be with you," before she closed her eyes and the battlefield fell into sombre silence.
The team was heartbroken and defeated and grieved together. You, a shattered echo of your former self, clung to a memory of Kate's love, a bittersweet reminder of a sacrifice made in the name of heroism. In that moment, grief became a silent companion, and the Avengers retreated from the battlefield, forever scarred by the eerie specter of loss.
After Kate's death, you sought solace in the chaos of missions, using the relentless pursuit of danger as a temporary escape from the haunting grip of grief. Days blur into nights, and the weight of grief casts a shadow over your once vibrant spirit. The Avengers who witnessed the change watched with growing concern as you, once a beacon of hope, became a ruthless force on the battlefield.
One fateful day, as you prepared for a mission, the weight of the past weighed heavily on you. The team, unaware of the impending descent, prepared for the mission, unaware that their teammate had fallen into the shadow of violence and self-destruction.
As the mission unfolded, you acted with calculated ruthlessness, a dangerous sharpness to your actions that sent waves of unease throughout the team. Natasha, always perceptive, approached you in a moment of calm, her voice a solemn echo amid the chaos.
"We worry about you. That's not the way to cope," Natasha pleaded, a mix of concern and sadness in her eyes. But you, caught in the storm of grief, rejected the words, as your actions were evidence of a mind clouded by the shadows that loomed within it.
The mission reached its climax and in a frightening twist, you found yourself facing an enemy who felt the pain that fueled the ruthlessness. “I see the suffering in you,” the opponent remarked with a sinister grin on his lips. The rest of the team, unaware of the exchange, continued the mission.
When the dust settled, you once stood alone with a mysterious figure, struggling with the lingering echoes of violence. The adversary revealed knowledge of your past and led you down a darker path. “I know what you once were, what you have lost. I have something that can numb the pain,” they whispered treacherously, revealing a vial of medicine with the cruel promise of respite.
You hesitated in the shadows, your inner struggle reaching its peak. The lure of numbness, a fleeting escape from unrelenting torment, collided with the lasting memories of a time when happiness and laughter were not hidden in the shadows. The vial, a twisted offering of comfort, floated in the air, casting a long, ominous shadow over the broken soul of an Avenger trapped in the labyrinth of despair.
You were faced with a decision that you had already weighed many times. The pressure, the weight of loss and grief had piled up into a crushing weight on your soul. In a world surrounded by shadows, the seductive promises of drugs offered a tempting escape.
The decision came in a moment of silence, when the suffering that plagued you seemed unbearable. The room was flooded with a dim light as you held the small bag containing the seductive substance in your hands. The content, inconspicuous in appearance, held the promise of an escape from the painful realities of life.
The hesitation was brief, a fleeting moment before you made the decision that would change your fate. The drug you had heard would bring you comfort and oblivion became a companion in a lonely act of desperation.
As the substance found its way into your body, a wave of release coursed through your veins. A fleeting euphoria enveloped you, lulling your senses into a false peace. The weight of loss seemed to slip from your shoulders for a moment and the world took on an unreal glow.
But in the midst of this apparent consolation lurked the bitter irony of escape. The drug that appeared to be a savior unleashed a chain of illusory moments of happiness that snaked like shadows through your mind. The oblivion you sought turned out to be a nefarious game with reality.
As you gave in to the high, you had no idea that the supposed salvation was actually a pact with the demons who were just waiting to sink their claws deeper into your soul. The moment you first reached for the drugs became a dark turning point that steered your fate into an uncertain darkness. You told yourself it was just this once. but once became twice and that became dependency. You've found the best routine for yourself and the best way to hide it from your tea. everything went perfectly. You felt perfect
・。・。・。・。・。・。・。・。・。・。・。・。・
In the dimly lit corners of the city, Natasha navigated the shadows. While on a covert mission, she unexpectedly crossed paths with the mysterious figure who had played a sinister role in your descent into addiction a few weeks ago.
The shadowy figure leaned against a graffiti-covered alley and grinned as Natasha approached. “Well, if it’s not the Black Widow herself. The Avenger's pride and joy,” he sneered, his words dripping with a poisonous mix of mockery and malice.
Unimpressed, Natasha replied with an iron stare, “Save it. You’re dealing with forces you can’t handle.” The figure giggled, an eerie sound that echoed in the deserted alley. “Oh, I completely can. Your precious Avengers, addicted to what they are fighting. It’s really poetic.”
Natasha frowned in confusion and shot back, "You’re talking nonsense.” The figure leaned forward, a malicious grin playing on his lips. “Think about it. Your star Avenger, who you all put on a pedestal, danced with the devil. Drugs, darkness. your team is in ruins.”
A sinking feeling gripped Natasha's chest as she processed the revelation. The pieces of the puzzle fell into place and she understood the insidious truth behind his words. The figure, gloating over the chaos he had indirectly sowed among the Avengers, whispered one final taunt: “Your precious hero, addicted and broken. It’s almost beautiful, isn’t it?”
As Natasha left the encounter, the weight of the revelation rested on her shoulders. The Avengers, her family, were caught in a dangerous web, and the realization strengthened their resolve to unravel the darkness that threatened to consume them. The shadowy figure, a puppeteer reveling in the chaos, left Natasha with the grim awareness that the battle ahead was more than just physical - it was a battle against the intangible, the shadows that lurked in the hearts of those closest to her hearts lay.
Natasha, burdened with new suspicions, retreated to the Avengers compound with a storm of thoughts running through her head. As she walked through the familiar halls, an unsettling sense of foreboding cast a shadow over her normally calm demeanor.
She remembered the countless nights she had spent navigating the labyrinth of grief, the ghosts of her own past that had driven her into dark corners. The possibility that you too would succumb to a similar descent set alarm bells ringing in Natasha's experienced intuition.
The Avengers compound, once a haven of camaraderie, now seemed to echo with the haunting footsteps of uncertainty. As she navigated the team's daily hustle and bustle, Natasha couldn't shake the feeling that something profound had changed within its walls.
As she reviewed mission reports and team activities in the command center, Natasha's gaze found herself lingering on the patterns that emerged. You, once a living force, had become a phantom within the compound - missions, isolation, the echoes of isolation. A shiver of realization ran through Natasha as the puzzle pieces aligned with the shadowy figure's taunts.
Doubts gnawed at Natasha's resolve. She understood more than anyone the labyrinth of grief and the treacherous paths it could lead someone down. The idea that you had fallen into the grips of addiction was a haunting revelation that threatened to shatter the team's fragile balance.
A heavy sigh escaped Natasha's lips as she thought about the path that lay ahead of her. Her footsteps echoed with purpose as she made her way to your quarters, her inner conflict reflected in the furrow of her brow.
Natasha approached your room with a mix of determination and concern, ready to face the shadows that loomed within. But as she reached for the doorknob, a lingering feeling of emptiness came over her - the room was empty. The echo of silence in your quarters only added to Natasha's unease.
Looking for signs of your presence, her eyes fell on a flyer lying casually on the bedside table. The bright colors and bold typography hinted at a world beyond the Avengers compound – a world of pulsating music, flashing lights and escapism. A world that Natasha, all too familiar with her dual nature, recognized as a potential harbinger of trouble.
The flyer revealed the name of a club whose location was a landmark for those seeking refuge in the anonymity of the night. Natasha's jaw clenched as she connected the dots, the realization weighing like a lead weight on her chest. Tangled in the web of self-destruction, you had sought solace in the beating heart of the city's nightlife.
The decision was made quickly, driven by Natasha's unwavering determination to avert the impending crisis. She left your room, the flyer in her hand, and moved purposefully towards the exit of the premises. The walk to the club became a silent pilgrimage through the shadows, each step bearing the weight of an impending confrontation.
As Natasha approached the club's entrance, the rhythmic pounding of the bass and the neon lights pulsing through the night signaled the chaos that awaited her. With a deep breath, Natasha entered the realm where you had sought refuge - a world shrouded in darkness and fueled by the very substances that threatened to consume her.
The search for you in the club's dimly lit rooms became a thrilling exploration, guided by the menacing rhythm of the music and the scent of fleeting escape. Natasha, the relentless guardian, pushed forward through the sea of faces, driven by the urgency to intercept you before the shadows could claim another piece of her soul.
The club, a cacophony of pounding beats and swirling lights, drowned out the tumult in Natasha's heart as she set out on a quest to free you from the clutches of the night's embrace. The shadows grew darker, but Natasha, driven by unrelenting determination, walked through the darkness in search of the Avenger caught in the dangerous dance with self-destruction.
In the dimly lit alley, the distant bass tones of the nightclub echoed off the walls. She guided by an intuition honed through years of espionage, arrived just in time to witness a disturbing scene. You, caught in the web of distraction and vulnerability, were picked up by an older woman with questionable intentions.
Without hesitation, Natasha intervened. Quick as a flash, she positioned herself between you and the older woman, her eyes narrowing with steely determination. "Back off. She’s not interested.”
The older woman, momentarily surprised, attempted a defiant grin. “She seemed pretty interested inside. Mind your own business. But if you feel like it too, I don't mind sharing her.
Natasha, looked at the woman seriously. The look ran with a mix of graceful precision and controlled aggression. It didn't take long for the older woman to realize she was inferior.
As the woman retreated into the shadows, Natasha turned her attention to you, who stood swaying, caught between the haze of intoxication and the reality of what was unfolding. “What the hell are you doing? Do you even realize what just happened?”
Your gaze was unfocused and your pupils dilated, scoffing dismissively. “Mind your own business, Natasha. I can manage on my own.”
Natasha, whose voice held a mix of anger and concern, closed the distance between the two of you. “It’s my business if one of my team members gets out of control. What’s wrong with you, y/n?”
As Natasha's gaze pierced through the haze of your consciousness, the gravity of the situation became painfully clear. Caught in a cycle of self-destruction, you had sought refuge in substances that dulled the pain but fueled the chaos.
Natasha’s expression changed from anger to dark realization, “You’re not coping, Y/n. You're drowning. We have to do something.” You, fueled by a cocktail of emotions, lashed out with a sudden outburst of anger. “Why do you care, Natasha? You are not my mother. Leave me alone!"
Natasha refused to back down and spoke with a raw honesty that cut through the chaos. "Enough! I know what you're doing! So stop it!”
Y/n, caught off guard and exposed, reacted defensively. “You know absolutely nothing! What do you think you know about me, huh?”
Natasha, determined to break through the wall she had put up, reached out and tried to offer support. “I understand enough to know that you're feeling bad, and whatever you're trying to cover up with it isn't the solution. We are a team. Let us help you.”
But you, consumed by a whirlwind of emotions, didn't hear Natasha's request. Instead, you screamed in frustration, a primal release from your inner turmoil. "I don’t need your help! I don’t need anyone!"
As your anger escalated, Natasha tried to hold it back with a mix of sadness and determination. You, lost in a haze of substance-induced rage, lashed out at Natasha, her movements fueled by a dangerous game of alcohol and drugs.
Natasha, strong yet gentle, tried to hold you back, but the fight continued. The alley, now a battlefield of broken emotions, echoed with your agonized screams. “Y/n, calm down. You’re not thinking clearly!” Your mind, clouded by the effects of the substances, continued to fight against Natasha's grip. "Let me go! I dont need your help!"
Natasha tried to break through the haze around you in a firm voice. “You’re not feeling well. We have to help you.” Caught in the whirlwind of emotions, lat du struck again. “I said let go!”
But Natasha, leaning on her own resilience, persevered and was determined to see you through the storm. The longer the moments lasted, the more your resistance weakened. Natasha's unwavering presence, a lifeline in the chaos, slowly seeped into the haze that enveloped your consciousness. “It's okay. I will help you with this.”
In the midst of the battle, a profound change occurred. You, overwhelmed by a sudden realization, stopped in Natasha's arms. The torrents of anger turned into quiet sobs, the weight of her own struggles easing.
Your voice was now a fragile whisper, choked with tears. "Something's wrong, Natasha.." Natasha, feeling the tremor of vulnerability, held you with a newfound tenderness.
・。・。・。・。・。・。・。・。・。・。・。・。・
The air in your room was heavy with the pungent smell of despair. With a heavy heart, Natasha entered the dimly lit room, caution evident on her face. You lay motionless on the bed, a stark contrast to the lively mind Natasha knew.
The creaking of the door went unnoticed as Natasha moved closer, her gaze lingering on the shell of the person in front of her.
Natasha carefully sat down on the bed next to you, the mattress sagging slightly under the weight of their shared loads. “Y/n,” she began, her voice weaving like a delicate thread through the oppressive silence. "We need to talk."
Your eyes, dull and lacking their usual spark, turned to meet Natasha's gaze. A heaviness spread across the room as the unspoken words loomed between them.
"I spoke to Bruce," Natasha admitted, choosing her words with careful precision. Your expression changed, a mix of curiosity and cautious skepticism.
"He thinks therapy might help," Natasha continued, bracing herself for the expected resistance. Your eyes, once full of defiance, now showed a weariness that broke Natasha's resolve.
"Therapy?" Your barely audible voice had a hint of contempt. The mere mention seemed to awaken a calm storm within them.
Natasha continued undeterred. “I know you don't like the idea, but we can't go on like this. You’re drowning and I can’t stand by and watch.”
Your gaze hardened, a silent protest forming in your eyes. “I'm not weak, Natasha. I don’t need a psychiatrist analyzing my every move.”
Although Natasha was hurt by the words, she stuck to her beliefs. “This is not about weakness. It's about finding a way to free yourself from the chains that bind you. Bruce thinks it might help.”
The room seemed to narrow as the tension of their conversation faded. Natasha, struggling with the intensity of the moment, reached out and grabbed your hand. The touch, once a source of comfort, now felt like a lifeline stretched thin.
Your eyes flickered, caught between defiance and a hint of vulnerability. Natasha's words, while harsh, were borne of a deep concern that went beyond their role as friends. "I know you're tired of feeling like this," Natasha continued, her voice cutting through the darkness with steady strength. “You deserve a chance to live without the weight of this situation weighing you down.”
The room, once a battlefield of silent fighting, became one where Natasha's conviction collided with your reluctance. “Bruce thinks this can help, and so do I. We can't keep dancing around the truth and hoping things will magically get better," Natasha assured, her gaze unwavering.
You, now faced with Natasha's unyielding determination, hesitated. The room echoed with the weight of their shared pain, the air filled with the anticipation of a decision that could change their journey.
“I can’t watch you slip away, Y/N,” Natasha admitted, her voice soft but determined. “You are not alone in this, but you need more than what I can give. Let’s give therapy a chance together.”
In this charged moment, your defense faltered. A silent agreement emerged between them, a shared recognition that the path to healing requires courage and collaboration. Despite the darkness that surrounded her, Natasha found a glimmer of hope in the small victory of breaking through the resistance of you.
The therapy sessions began with a hint of concern between you and the therapist, Dr. Reynolds. You, sitting in the dimly decorated room, shifted uncomfortably, looking around as if searching for an escape route from the vulnerability you were about to reveal.
Dr. Reynolds, a calm and empathetic presence, began gentle probing, trying to uncover the layers of your struggles. However, you found it difficult to articulate the chaos within. Although the room was intended for healing, it felt like an interrogation chamber.
Bruce, who was present as a support person, observed the dynamic and recognized the difficulty you faced opening up. Sensing the struggle, he interjected in a soothing tone. “It’s okay to take your time. Therapy is a process and we are here to help you get through it.”
Your eyes met Bruce's, a fleeting recognition of gratitude in the midst of the inner storm. Slowly, they began to share fragments of their journey, stumbling over the words as they tried to express the pain that lurked in the shadows of their past.
Dr. Reynolds guided you through the turbulent memories with compassionate understanding and helped you confront the root causes of your addiction. The room became a vessel for shared revelation, each session peeling back layers of pain and revealing the raw vulnerability you had hidden for far too long.
Bruce acted as a bridge between you and the therapeutic process, providing insights and perspectives that resonated with your experiences. His presence became a comforting constant, a reminder that healing was possible, even in the darkest recesses of the mind.
In the first few therapy sessions, Natasha, recognizing the sensitivity of the process, positioned herself at the door. Her presence, a silent but reassuring guardian, provided you with a bond of familiarity amidst the vulnerability of therapeutic exploration.
Finding it difficult to articulate the jumble of emotions, you occasionally glanced toward the door, finding comfort in the knowledge that Natasha was standing guard, offering her silent support. Although the room was an arena of introspection, it had a connection to the outside world - the world in which Natasha waited, a steadfast ally.
You thought this was the hard part, but you were so wrong. In the suffocating grip of withdrawal, you fell into a whirlpool of torment. Each passing moment was a relentless tide of physical and emotional torment, a relentless attack on her core.
Nausea, an unrelenting companion, cramped your stomach and left you doubled over in a desperate attempt to quell the churning abyss within you. Your sweat-soaked and trembling skin became a battlefield where the feverish heat fought against an inner cold that seemed to penetrate into your bones.
Natasha, who witnessed your suffering, felt a helpless pain in her chest. The room, once a sanctuary, now echoed with the agonized moans and gasps of someone caught in the merciless grip of retreat. Your eyes, once full of defiance, now had a haunted look - a reflection of the torment within.
Every muscle screamed in protest, a symphony of pain that seemed to reverberate through the fabric of your being. Although it was silent, the walls of the room seemed to close in, increasing the dissonance of your suffering.
Although Natasha was torn by the sight before her, she remained unwaveringly present. She tenderly wiped the cold sweat from your forehead, her touch a fleeting comfort in the midst of the storm. As your body writhed under the relentless symptoms, Natasha's words became a tale of resilience - an anthem to drown out the haunting whispers of doubt. “Look at me, Y/N,” Natasha urged, their eyes meeting. “This pain is temporary, but your strength is permanent. You are fighting for a better future and I am here with you." But the helplessness in Natasha's eyes betrayed the turmoil within her, a silent plea to ease the torment that seemed to consume you.
Your gasping gasps became a symphony of desperation, of fighting an invisible force that threatened to drown you in a sea of despair. In this cruel dance of withdrawal, Natasha, who stood by your side, was confronted with the harsh reality that the road to recovery was often paved with moments of agonizing suffering.
The second day dawned with a faint glimmer of relief as the hard grip of retreat began to loosen its grip. Although you still struggled with residual symptoms, you found comfort in the lessening intensity of the physical torment. Natasha, who was constantly present, continued to offer me encouragement.
As the morning sun bathed the room in a soft glow, Natasha helped you master the delicate balance between rehydration and nutrition. Every sip of water, every bite of food meant a small victory
Throughout the day, Natasha guided you through gentle exercises to ease the stiffness that remained from the long ordeal. Although the conversations were muffled by the echoes of disengagement, they began to turn to topics that went beyond the immediate struggle - a subtle sign of emerging resilience.
The third day heralded further relief from the physical strain, allowing you to breathe a sigh of relief. Attuned to the intricacies of recovery, Natasha felt the gradual return of vitality. Together you ventured out of the room and moved through the common areas of the tower with cautious optimism.
Therapy sessions resumed, providing you with a structured opportunity to process the emotional impact of withdrawal. Although Natasha was aware of the delicate nature of the journey ahead, she offered words of encouragement and reinforced the idea that each day of recovery was a triumph over the shadows.
Outside, the tower was bustling with activity, a vibrant backdrop to the ongoing healing process. Even though you were aware of the fragility of your newfound stability, you somehow appreciated the support of the team and the encouraging nods and smiles from Natasha - a testament to the shared commitment to overcome the challenges that remained after the withdrawal were.
As therapy progressed, your evolving focus and growing comfort in the therapeutic space became apparent. Natasha, watching from her post, noticed a spark of determination in your eyes, a spark that seemed to grow brighter with each session.
The therapy room, once an intimidating space, transformed into a sanctuary where vulnerabilities were exposed and healing began to take root. And outside that door remained Natasha, a pillar of strength, ready to welcome you back into the world with open arms, knowing that the road to recovery was a shared endeavor.
In the quiet evening hours, Natasha found herself in the living room, deep in conversation with some other team members. Laughter and camaraderie filled the room, momentarily easing the weight of their shared burdens.
As the animated chatter continued, Natasha's eyes wandered to the hallway and she caught a glimpse of movement. Once trapped in the shadows of your room, you cautiously stepped out and made your way to the kitchen.
A subtle change in Natasha's expression conveyed a mix of emotions - surprise, hope and a hint of concern. The living room became a silent theater in which the unfolding scene promised progress. The others in the room were unaware of the meaning and continued their discussions.
Although you moved hesitantly, you radiated a new sense of determination. Walking from your room to the kitchen became a symbolic step toward independence, a silent proclamation that resonated louder than words.
Natasha, watching discreetly, felt a wave of pride and relief. The living room that now served as the backdrop for this subtle victory became a testament to the resilience of the human spirit. In that unspoken moment, Natasha glimpsed a future where you, once imprisoned by the chains of addiction, could navigate the common spaces of the tower with renewed strength and purpose.
In the quiet aftermath of a transformative month, you faced the outside world with new resilience..However, life tests one's resolve.
Weeks passed and you were alone in your room, you sift through the remnants of your past. Among forgotten belongings, you came across a hidden stash of old drugs - a relic from a time you wanted to leave behind. The sight triggered a flood of memories, each a whisper, leading her to accept what you were for you fought so hard.
A tumultuous internal struggle ensued as you seized the contraband. The room seemed to close in, the weight of the past weighing on you. Despite the progress you've made, a voice inside you whispered seductively, urging you to once again surrender to the familiar comfort of escape.
Knowing what needed to be done, you glanced at the door and considered the journey down the hallway to Natasha's room. But an invisible force held you back, a stubborn resistance to revealing the remnants of a darker chapter.
Natasha's words echoed in your head, "You're not alone in this." Despite the internal conflict, you couldn't shake the awareness that you needed to reach out. The inner tug of war intensified, the battle between progress and regression becoming evident in the quiet confines of your room.
What's the harm in giving in just one more time? Only once?
Your shaking hands betrayed your inner turmoil as you succumbed to the lure of the old drugs. The room seemed to close in, the weight of your choice settling on you. A wave of guilt and regret washed over you, but the temporary escape offered a strange comfort.
In the silence of your room, you struggled with the decision, the lure of familiar numbness clouding the progress you had fought so hard for. The realization that they had chosen a temporary reprieve over a long-term cure sunk deep within them.
As the effects took hold, you caught a glimpse of a reflection in the mirror. A look that was filled with both disappointment and resignation. The space that had once been a sanctuary now felt like a prison of your own making.
In the dimly lit kitchen, you moved with an unsettling calm, your eyes glazing over as the effects of the drugs took hold. Finding food became a mechanical task, a distraction from the reality you wanted to escape.
Natasha entered the kitchen, her face lighting up at the sight of you. “Hey, I was just coming to get something to eat with you. How are you feeling?” she asked with genuine warmth in her voice, unaware of the storm brewing beneath the surface.
You managed a weak smile, a feeble attempt to hide the chaos inside. Little did Natasha know that the steps she had taken moments ago were leading you down a dark path. Again.
As Natasha's gaze lingered on you, a subtle change in the air betrayed her intuition. Recognition dawned in her eyes, a moment of quiet understanding that penetrated the façade. The pride she had felt moments ago turned into the poignant realization that her battle with addiction was far from over.
Natasha's expression hardened, a mix of disappointment and concern crossing her face. “Y/n, what did you…” she began, her words trailing off as the truth became obvious. The kitchen, once a sanctuary for shared meals and camaraderie, was transformed into a battlefield where the consequences of a moment's oversight were laid bare.
You managed a casual shrug, trying to downplay the severity. “Just a little relapse, Nat. No big deal,” you reply with a casual tone, as if revealing your own struggle was inconsequential.
Natasha's eyes narrowed, her concern turning to seething anger. "No big deal?" she replied, her voice full of disappointment. “We fought so hard and you treat it like it’s nothing? Do you realize what this is about?”
You try to brush it off, but fail under Natasha's intense scrutiny. Natasha's anger swirled with a deep sense of betrayal as she faced the reality of your choices.
"I thought you were committed to this, to your own well-being," Natasha continued, her anger tempered with a hint of heartbreak. The air crackled with tension, a clear departure from the camaraderie that once filled the room. “Nat, it was just a temporary thing. I can handle it,” you insisted, a feeble attempt to salvage her own sense of control.
"I thought you understood!" Natasha continued, her frustration rising to a desperate plea for understanding. "You risked everything!" Natasha's voice reached a crescendo, echoes of her anger reverberating off the walls. “Where did you get it from? Do you have more?”
She asked you now and you actually thought about what you wanted to say, “I told you it wasn't that bad! It was just a bag that I found, my God, don’t get so worked up now!”
As Natasha’s rage reached its peak, she stormed into Your room with a determination that left no room for escape. The door slammed shut behind her, sealing the room in an atmosphere of tense confrontation. You were surprised and felt a wave of fear rise within you as Natasha's anger grew stronger.
In a desperate attempt to maintain some semblance of control, your fear turned to anger. The muffled sounds of Natasha rummaging through your belongings triggered a wave of frustration and you began banging on the door with increasing intensity.
“Natasha, what the hell are you doing?!” You screamed, your voice a mix of anger and desperation. The room, once a private sanctuary, now reverberated with the cacophony of emotions bouncing against the walls.
Inside, driven by the determination to uncover the truth, Natasha continued her tireless search. In the search for answers, drawers were opened and belongings were scattered. The atmosphere in the room reflected the storm outside the closed door, a storm of conflicting emotions that blurred the line between frustration and anger.
Your screams grew louder, a blunt expression of the turmoil raging within. “Stop going through my things! YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO DO THIS!!” You scream and pound your fists against the unyielding door. The room became a battlefield where emotions clashed, and each blow on the door reflected the discord between the two souls locked in a battle against the shadows.
Amid the chaos, Natasha's hand closed around a small stash of pills. A discovery that only heightened the gravity of the situation. The air crackled with tension as the locked door witnessed a confrontation that transcended the physical realm and dissolved the threads of trust and resilience that had once held them together.
The moment Natasha left your room, holding the damning evidence in her hand, the air between you crackled with unbridled tension. You, still seething with anger, wanted to unleash a flood of emotions, but when your eyes fell on the pills, fear suddenly gripped your heart.
Desperation gripped you as you tried to intercept Natasha on her way to the kitchen. “Natasha, w-wait! You can’t do that!” You beg, your voice sounding urgent. But Natasha, determined to her mission, proved too strong and brushed aside your attempts to intervene.
In the kitchen, Natasha approached the sink, determination written all over her face. You, desperate and excited, continued to beg her to reconsider. “Natasha, please, just listen! Y-You don’t understand what it’s like,” you cried, her words a desperate plea for understanding.
The first pill landed on the bottom of the sink, setting off a cascade of emotions that echoed through the room. Your protests grew louder and more frantic, but Natasha, undeterred, continued to dismiss the remnants of your hidden struggle.
As Natasha took the last pill, a wave of pent up and festering emotions erupted within you. In a moment of pure frustration and desperation, you stopped. “STOP IT, NATASHA! YOU DONT GET IT!"
The commotion caught the attention of others in the tower. They watched wide-eyed and curious as the conflict between Natasha and you escalated into a full-on confrontation. The once harmonious space now reverberated with the dissonance of broken trust and unbridled emotions.
Driven to the edge, you lunge at Natasha, a storm of rage driving you forward. Natasha, reflexes sharpened by years of training, dodged the attack, redirecting the force and pinning you against the wall. The impact reverberated with a thud, and the room was momentarily silent from the collision of bodies.
“Enough, Y/N! We had that before!" Natasha's voice cut through the air, her eyes shining with a mix of frustration and concern. She held you in place, a physical manifestation of the turmoil that gripped their journey together. "Why? Why are you throwing away all the progress we've made?" Natasha demanded, her own feelings bubbling to the surface.
You were trapped against the wall, struggling against Natasha's grip, your voices rising to a crescendo as the echoes of their confrontation reached the team's ears, witnessing a painful rupture in the unity that had once defined their shared battle with addiction .
Natasha, her nerves frayed and her patience exhausted, let out a guttural scream that echoed through the walls of the kitchen. The sound, raw and primal, rang in the air like a storm of pent-up frustration and exhaustion. In that moment, every ounce of restraint crumbled, and Natasha's roar became a visceral release - an expression of the unrelenting pressure that had been building within her. "WHY CAN’T YOU SEE WHAT YOUR’E DOING?!" She roared, the intensity of hers Voice sounded with a ferocity born of frustration and desperation.
You, pressed against the wall, feel the force of Natasha's anger like a physical weight pressing down on you. Natasha's screams, now filled with raw and unfiltered rage, broke through the façade of composure and revealed the extent of her emotions.
The kitchen, once a place of communal eating and laughter, now echoed with the unbridled fury of Natasha's screams. It was a cry that tried to penetrate the walls of denial, to break through the layers of self-deception that obscured your struggles. Every word, every syllable bore the weight of countless battles fought in the shadows.
“Why do you keep destroying yourself? Do you even care about the people who are trying to help you?" Natasha's voice reached a feverish pitch, her scream interrupted by the harsh truth she dared to speak. “I can’t keep watching you destroy yourself like this! What more do you want from me?” Natasha’s cry of bitter resignation hung in the air like an unanswered request.
As Natasha's screams subsided, the raw aftereffects of her anger lingered in the air. Tears welled up in her eyes, reflecting a mix of frustration, disappointment, and an overwhelming feeling of helplessness.
"I-Ican't do this anymore.." Natasha's words, now a torrent of tears and heartache, flooded the room. The once adamant agent was vulnerable, her anger tempered by the heartbreaking realization that her efforts might be in vain.
You, still reeling from the force of Natasha's anger, met her tear-filled gaze with a mixture of guilt and sadness. The atmosphere in the kitchen went from a storm of anger to a haunting silence, broken only by Natasha's tearful plea. It was a request that hung heavy in the air - a desperate cry for you to realize the gravity of the situation and the toll it was taking on your connection.
You, battered by Natasha's verbal attacks, could only respond with a weak "I-I'm s-sorry.." But Natasha was not appeased. “A sorry won’t fix this, Y/N! This is about trust, the foundation of OUR recovery!” Her anger was like a storm that swept through the room, leaving devastation in its wake.
As Natasha's tirade continued, you, caught in the vortex, finally broke down as well. Tears streamed down their faces, the weight of guilt and the pain of Natasha's anger becoming an unbearable burden. “I want to get clean, Nat, I really d-do..!” They screamed in desperate voices amidst the chaos.
Natasha's anger wavered for a moment and was replaced by a piercing sadness. “Then why did you do that? Why did you throw everything away?" she demanded, her voice a mix of betrayal and heartbreak. "I don't know..."
Your voice shook as you avoided Natasha's gaze as you said, "I... I want to get clean, Natasha. For myself, but also for you..please..” The words hung in the air, laden with the weight of guilt and the deep desire for redemption.
Natasha, sensing the genuine turmoil in your admission, hugged you comfortingly, a silent gesture that spoke volumes. You, unable to meet Natasha's gaze, felt a flood of emotions welling up inside you and tears streaming down your cheeks.
As the tears mingled, Natasha whispered soothing words, a promise that echoed in the silent room. The journey ahead remained uncertain, but in that tender moment, you and Natasha found a shared commitment - a fragile but sincere agreement to face the daunting road to recovery together.

The sun dipped below the horizon, casting long shadows over the cityscape as Natasha parked the car outside the rehabilitation clinic. The air was thick with a mix of anticipation and anxiety as you stepped out, the weight of the past few months hanging heavily in the air.
The entrance of the clinic loomed ahead, its sterile facade a stark contrast to the chaos that had unfolded in your life. As you walked through the automatic doors, a sense of trepidation and determination battled within.
The clinical white walls and hushed tones of the facility marked a departure from the familiar surroundings of the Avengers compound. This was a space where healing took precedence, a space where the journey to recovery would unfold.
Natasha accompanied you to the reception area, her presence a source of silent strength. The receptionist handed you a small plastic card – a symbol of the commitment to sobriety that lay ahead.
“Here’s your room key and schedule, Y/N. Your counselor will meet with you shortly. Welcome to the clinic.”
As you made your way to the assigned room, the sterile hallways seemed to echo with the weight of countless stories of struggle and redemption. The door opened to a modest room, devoid of the familiar belongings that once defined your space.
The first night in the clinic passed in a blur of emotions – a mixture of anxiety, hope, and the raw reality of withdrawal. The absence of substances that had become a crutch left you vulnerable, the intensity of the cravings clawing at your resolve.

The counselor, a compassionate figure experienced in guiding individuals through recovery, became a confidant. The sessions were intense, delving into the root causes of your addiction, and the painful memories that fueled the spiral into darkness.
Days turned into nights, marked by a routine of therapy sessions, group discussions, and the gradual easing of withdrawal symptoms. The camaraderie with fellow residents, each battling their own demons, offered a sense of shared strength and understanding.
In the midst of this, Natasha continued to play a pivotal role. Her letters and occasional visits acted as a bridge connecting the clinic’s sterile environment with the warmth of the outside world. The words she penned were a lifeline, a reminder of the love and support waiting beyond the clinic walls.
Weeks passed, and the initial turbulence of withdrawal began to subside. The fog of cravings lifted, revealing moments of clarity and self-discovery. The connection between mind and body, once distorted by substance abuse, gradually began to mend.
Natasha’s visits became a source of motivation. Her proud smiles and encouraging words fueled your determination to overcome the shadows that had threatened to consume you. The bond between you and Natasha, tested by the storms of addiction, emerged stronger in the crucible of recovery.
As the three-month milestone approached, a mix of emotions surged within. The plastic card that had once symbolized vulnerability now stood as a testament to resilience. The journey through the clinic had been a battle against the shadows, a battle waged with the unwavering support of Natasha and the newfound strength within.
The final counseling session arrived, marking the end of the structured environment that had become a cocoon for your transformation. The counselor’s words carried a sense of pride, acknowledging the progress made and emphasizing the importance of continued vigilance in the outside world.
The last night in the clinic was a bittersweet moment – a farewell to the routines and safety nets that had defined this chapter. As you stood outside the clinic’s entrance, Natasha’s presence by your side reflected the shared victory over the shadows that had threatened to consume you.
The journey from the clinic back to the Avengers compound was a silent reflection of the miles traveled – both in physical distance and the depths of self-discovery. The walls of the familiar compound welcomed you back, the echoes of camaraderie and shared battles resounding in the air.
As you stepped into the Avengers compound, the weight of the plastic card in your hand felt both symbolic and grounding. The sense of accomplishment mingled with the awareness that the journey continued beyond the clinic walls.
Natasha, beside you, offered a reassuring presence. The shared glances spoke volumes – a silent understanding that the road to recovery was an ongoing process, a commitment to face the challenges that awaited.
As the door to your room in the Avengers compound swung open, a wave of warmth and welcome enveloped you. The room, once stark and sterile, had transformed into a haven of celebration. A large banner hung across the wall, bearing the words "Welcome Home, Y/N – We're Proud of You!"
The room was adorned with colorful decorations, each carefully chosen to radiate positivity and encouragement. Balloons danced in the air, carrying messages of support, and a bouquet of vibrant flowers sat on the bedside table, a burst of nature's beauty against the neutral backdrop.
The scent of freshly baked cookies wafted through the air, an irresistible aroma that beckoned you further into the room. A plate of cookies, lovingly arranged, awaited your arrival – a sweet gesture to mark the beginning of a new chapter. "Thought you might need a little treat. You've earned it."
A care package rested on the bed, filled with thoughtful items to make the transition back to the compound smoother. A cozy blanket, a journal for reflections, and a collection of inspiring books formed a personalized ensemble – each item chosen to nurture the mind, body, and soul.
Natasha handed you a small envelope. As you opened it, a collection of heartfelt letters from fellow Avengers spilled out – words of encouragement, shared memories, and expressions of pride in your journey. The bonds of camaraderie had never felt stronger.
Steve's letter read: "Y/N, welcome back. We missed you. Your strength is an inspiration to us all."
Bruce's note carried a touch of humor: "Who knew we'd be celebrating with cookies? Just remember, I've got green tea ready whenever you need it."
The room had been transformed into a celebration of your triumph over the shadows of addiction. The collective efforts of the Avengers, led by Natasha, had created an environment that echoed with gratitude, love, and an unwavering commitment to your well-being.
As you took in the sight of the welcoming room, Natasha offered a reassuring smile.
Natasha: "This is your sanctuary. We're here for you, every step of the way."
The room, now a tapestry of support and celebration, became a haven where the echoes of resilience and triumph mingled with the promise of a brighter future. The Avengers had welcomed you home with open arms, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead – a testament to the strength of bonds forged in the crucible of recovery.

Hi! I have an idea for a fic, Eddie x Cheerleader! Reader, were they fight bc she feels insecure about Eddie's friendship with Chrissy, so, to distract herself, she goes to a party and a jock tries to flirt with her, but she's ignoring him, but then she sees Eddie talking with Chrissy and decided that she didn't wanted to stay at the party, while the jock was spiking her drink, so Reader just tries to go but the jock makes small talk with her, and she drinks all her drink, and then she starts to feel bad, and tries to go outside for some air but the jock's trying to make her stay with hi, but Steve sees them and he takes her to the hospital and then calls Eddie and when she wakes up they apologize to each other and it's fluff?
I love cheerleader reader
( remember that this is fiction and I had to make it very dramatic - so during Eddie and Steve's scene - keep the dramatic effect in mind and their little moment will make more sense of why they were not doing the most logical thing )
I hope this is what you were looking for
⚠️ small talks of being drugged
Tumblr media
Y/N trusted Eddie with everything in her. She trusted him with her heart, her soul, and her life. She trusted him to do deals with pretty girls alone in the woods. She knew that boy loved her and wouldn't ever cheat on her. She felt secure in Eddie, but she didn't feel secure in herself.
She wanted to be the unbothered girlfriend, but Eddie's friendship with Chrissy gave her a sick feeling in her stomach.
Chrissy was a sweetheart, and Y/N loved to see Eddie being welcomed in by the popular crowd. Chrissy got Jason to leave him alone, and she could see how much Eddie loved having new friends. But Y/N couldn't keep up with the popular crowd, and she feared she couldn't keep up with Chrissy.
She knew Eddie wouldn't cheat - but that didn't mean his feelings would always stay the same. What if he wanted a girlfriend that could fit in with all his friends? The Hellfire club adored Y/N, and that used to be all Eddie had.
She worried that all the extra time with Chrissy would cause him to develop a crush on her. Eddie was charming, funny, and handsome. It wouldn't surprise her if Chrissy noticed it too.
Eddie was a great boyfriend, but he struggled to see her side. She's brought up her feelings about his friendship with Chrissy, but he doesn't see her point of view. He doesn't understand why she would feel upset by an innocent friendship or feel threatened by one.
The more she brought it up, the more it hurt her. And the more they talked about it, the more it pissed Eddie off.
This led them to now, sitting at opposite ends at a party because their latest fight ended in a screaming match. She ran out with tears, and he didn't follow.
She didn't want to attend this party but felt a distraction would help. Turns out Eddie had the same idea. But as always, Chrissy stood next to him.
That felt like a slap in her face. Just this afternoon, she left his house sobbing, and he ran straight to the girl that was causing all the problems? The party wasn't much of a distraction; it was like watching a nightmare. She didn't need to watch this. She wanted to leave.
She tried to find the front door but was stopped by one of the jocks. She tried to be polite, listening to the pointless conversation he was starting. Somehow over the loud crowd, she could hear Eddie and Chrissy laughing. The drink in her hand felt heavy, like she was too weak to hold anything. With her eyes locked on Eddie, she overlooked the jock emptying a small bag in her drink.
She watched as Chrissy took Eddie's hand and dragged him to a different side of the house. Y/N's head immediately went to the worst thought, and she snapped her head back to the jock. She had a tight smile as she listened to him again, chugging the rest of her drink to feel any other feeling in her gut.
She didn't know how long she stood there, but the room felt spinning. She felt her eyes struggling to stay open, and nothing felt right.
"I'm sorry, but I need to go get some air," she said quickly, not caring that she cut off the guy's story. She went to move past him, but he grabbed her arm.
"Hey, don't leave so soon. Why don't we go lay down? You look a little pale." He said. She felt in her gut that his idea wasn't a good one.
"No, no. I want to go home." She said as loud as she could. Trying to yank her arm out of his grip.
But his grip on her was getting tight, almost as if he was bruising her.
"GET OFF!" she panicked, screaming as loud as she could. Feeling like her body was swaying. Her head was pounding, and she felt like she was sweating. She tried to search the party for Eddie. Panic grew in her stomach when she realized she didn't know where he went. She was trapped and alone.
"HEY, OFF!" she heard a male voice screaming next to her. Her brain couldn't tell who it was, but she could feel her body shoved into someone's chest. A familiar sense of warmth surrounded her.
"Y/N? Hey? Look at me?" She took a deep breath when she felt the night air. Almost felt like she was gasping. Her eyes searched in front of her. Seeing a figure with brown hair, everything was too blurry to focus.
"Fuck, shit. Okay. Let me call you an ambulance." The voice panicked and screamed to the crowd for someone to call.
That's all she could remember before she felt herself falling.
~~~
"YO, COPS ARE COMING. EVERYONE OUT!"
Eddie's head snapped to the voice screaming from the front door. He looked at Chrissy, and both raced out the door.
"WHAT'S GOING ON?" he heard someone shout back.
"GIRL WAS DRUGGED. WE NEED TO GET OUT."
Hearing that made Chrissy feel anxious, gripping on Eddie's arm as he moved her out of the house.
"Hey Chris, you're alright," Eddie said, rubbing her hand as he made it into the front yard. Sirens blared down the street as they drove up to the corner, an ambulance in the driveway. Steve stood next to it as he talked to one of the paramedics.
"That poor girl," Chrissy felt sick. She never wanted to be a victim, and she felt horrible that some girl was in the back of the ambulance because of some stupid jock.
Eddie quickly walked over to Steve, Chrissy on his arm. Eddie went to ask what happened, but the second Steve saw him, he pounced on him.
"WHERE THE FUCK WERE YOU!" Steve screamed, pushing Eddie as hard as he could. Not caring for the cheerleader on his arm.
Eddie caught himself, taking Chrissy's arm off of him before she got hurt. The ambulance behind them peeled off and headed to the hospital. The crowd ran as far as they could from the cops.
"IN THE HOUSE! WHAT DOES THAT MATTER?" Eddie screamed back. He had no idea what any of this had to do with him.
"With her?" Steve asked, his tone accusing something. Something all three of them knew.
"Not with her. I'm not a fucking cheater," Eddie growled. He couldn't believe Steve dared to ask him that.
"Right, Eddie. Well, while you were with Chrissy, where was Y/N?" Steve asked. Steve wished for nothing more than to be in the ambulance with her, but no one was allowed to be near her. And he wanted to see if Eddie even cared about her before he found out she was the one in danger.
"At home? I don't know. I haven't talked to her since our argument," Eddie defended. She left upset, so he assumed she went home to clear her head.
"Never bothered to check up on her? Just went to a fucking party like nothing happened?" Steve pressed on.
"I called, and she didn't answer. I went to the party to distract myself. What the fuck does it matter to you? She's my girlfriend, so stop getting in the middle." Eddie was growing irritated.
"Forget it. Chrissy, I'm bringing you home." Eddie sighed, digging for his keys when Steve spoke up.
"Before you do that. Y/N was here, and she was the one drugged. I'm guessing it happened while you were talking up the cheerleader. But don't worry. Go ahead and bring her home; I'll go be there for Y/N when she wakes up. Maybe if you weren't so caught up with Chrissy, you'd notice your girlfriend was here the whole time." Steve scoffed and raced to his own car.
"YOU ASSHOLE. THAT IS THE FIRST THING YOU SHOULD HAVE SAID!" Eddie panicked. Steve wasted their time with his mini tantrum. The time that he needed to be at the hospital.
Eddie felt like all the air was yanked out of his lungs. He didn't care to think, just racing to his van, leaving Chrissy in the yard.
~~~
Eddie's heart pounded the whole ride to the hospital. The guilt and regret were weighing on his heart. His girlfriend was in danger, and he didn't even know. And the worst part was that he wouldn't have known if Steve didn't see her. He felt sick thinking about all the horrible outcomes if Steve didn't find her in time.
But Steve shouldn't have needed to find her. Eddie should have been right there with her. He shouldn't have let her leave in the first place.
He was stupid for going to the party, and he was stupid for going to Chrissy.
His tires screeched as he pulled into the parking lot. Running to the front desk, barely hearing the room number Y/N was in. Panting as he reached the door.
His heart pounded as he opened the door. Tears were brought to his eyes as he took in her fragile frame. She looked pale, drenched in sweat, and all life was sucked from her eyes.
"Hi, Eddie." Her voice cracked and sounded dry.
He felt his legs moving his body towards her bed, and his hands landed on hers.
"I'm so sorry, baby." He whispered out, his own voice cracking.
"For what?" She asked, allowing him to hold her hand, but the anger from the fight and the party was still burning in her body. She felt awful and weak. She wished that stupid fight never happened.
"Everything! For not taking your feelings into consideration about Chrissy. For allowing my friendship with her to upset you and never making you feel more secure about it. Making you run out and letting you leave. And I am so fucking sorry for what happened at the party. For being the reason, you went there, for not seeing you and stopping that asshole. And I am so sorry for not being there when you were scared. I'm supposed to protect you, and I wasn't there." Eddie could feel the tears running down his face and his throat closing on him.
He watched as she cried with him, her hands moving out of his grip and touching his face. She tucked some hair behind his ears, talking delicately like he was the one that would break.
"You are not to blame for what happened at the party. I knew better than to go to that party, but I did. That decision was on me. Yes, I do wish you would have been there. Or that you came home to me instead of going to the party. Eddie, my heart broke seeing that you went to her. You didn't even try to fix anything between us." Y/N explained. She was feeling a lot of different emotions. She was terrified to think that Steve wasn't there. She was hurt that Eddie didn't seem to care and that Chrissy always won.
"I wanted to fix things, and I still do. You are everything to me, and I mean that. Going to Chrissy was the wrong move, and I'm sorry. I promise I will work on it. I won't talk to her ever again. I want you and only you. I love you, and I want a future with you."
"I love you too, Eds. We can fix us together." She smiled through her tears, wiping his tears as he sniffled. He leaned closer to her, kissing her forehead softly.
"Never leaving your side again."

warnings - none
a/n: i hope the person who requested this sees it, because me being a dumbass at 3am, i accidentally deleted the reply to the request. i also hope i got it right!

You could admit that you were not the most useful crewmember of the Whitebeard pirates. In fact, you felt completely useless, like you couldn't contribute anything meaningful or helpful. But you didn't want to be that way, you didn't want to be just a burden to them, even if Ace would constantly remind you that you're not a burden and you were helpful. To him, at least.
But you wanted to be helpful to the entire crew. In fights, you wanted to be able to hold your own without being told to go hide or go check on the injured. You wanted to be able to fight without having to depend on your boyfriend to come save you if you were faced with an opponent.
"(Name) are you even listening?" A deep chuckle met your ears, snapping you out of your thoughts.
You turned away from the shop window, smiling at Ace sheepishly, "I'm sorry, just...lost in thought." The way you said it and the way your smile didn't quite reach your ears alerted Ace to what you were thinking about.
"Hey," he took both your hands and brought you a little closer, "If it bothers you so much, I can always teach you a few things." He looked at the items you were eyeing from the shop and smirked. "Daggers, huh? Come on." He tugged you into the shop to help you choose a set.
-
After a very long few hours choosing a pair of pretty yet lethal daggers (Ace was the indecisive one), you both made your way back to the ship. You were staring at the sharp weapons in your hands, marveling at how dangerous they looked and feeling excited to finally learn to be at least a little bit effective.
"Okay let's start with some basic stances," he began, his hand reaching for your hip to position it. "Place one leg like this, and the other like this." He demonstrated his words, showing you how to stand and how to position your arms.
"Ace," you laughed a few minutes later, "I'm pretty sure my butt does not need to be in any specific position."
His beet-red face popped up in front of you, a coy smile on his lips, "Sorry babe, couldn't help myself."
He spent the rest of the afternoon teaching you basic combat moves and acting as your personal hype man, cheering excessively when you got something right just to boost your confidence. It was working, and you were grateful to have such a supportive and helpful boyfriend.
-
After a few more days of this, you were starting to get the hang of it. Your combat skills had drastically improved, and while you still hadn't managed to beat Ace, there was massive progress and you felt it.
But aside from combat, you also wanted to be more knowledgeable in other fields. Like first aid. In case of emergencies, you wanted to know how to deal with injuries and minor wounds that could be fixed right then and there. You didn't want to be an all-out doctor or medic, but you wanted to have at least a little medical knowledge.
So you took to medical books.
You read everything you could get your hands on, even staying up late at night to study. Sometimes you would even fall asleep at your desk, which is where Ace would find you in the morning. It worried him, but he also didn't want to stop you from learning.
"You should read it to me," he suggested one afternoon, while he was lying in bed with you after having to force you to stop when your eyes started to droop.
"Hmm?" You looked up at him sleepily, "Read what?"
"Those medical books you're reading," his warms hands rested on your stomach, putting you at ease. "You should talk to me about what you learn, it could help you remember."
You smiled when he offered to listen to you, "Are you sure you'll be able to keep up?"
He gasped dramatically, "What do you think I am? Stupid?"
"Yes," you teased.
He feigned offence, playfully scoffing, "I detest that."
"I'm kidding," you laughed, shifting so you could bury your face in his neck. "But thanks for the offer. I might just take you up on that."
And you did. Every time you were reading, Ace was with you whenever he could be. He sat and listened to you explain and discuss the human anatomy, how to dress certain injuries and what steps to take if there wasn't a medic around. He really didn't follow along, and he often fell asleep, but you appreciated the effort he was making to encourage you.
"Aceeeee!" You giggled and flicked his nose gently.
"Wha-?" He jerked awake, eyes flitting around the room before settling on you, and a lovestruck smile formed on his lips. "Oh, hey babe."
"You fell asleep again," you pouted, unable to stop your smile.
"I'm sorryyyyy," he apologised, leaning forward and kissing all over your face. It tickled, and the laughs he pulled from you made him smile. "Carry on, I'm listening now."
"You promise?"
"I promise."
