with a sigh, daphne’s eyes danced around her room as she took note of the various painted details on her ceiling. she hadn’t really noticed the embellishments before, but then again, she hadn’t had any trouble sleeping until very recently. now that she was trying to make sense of her own thoughts and feelings, she had spent countless hours staring at the little details. cheer entered with her younger sister francesca and as she moved to lay down next to her, daphne’s head turned to face her. without saying a word, she reached for her sister’s hand and gave it a gentle squeeze. “tell me something good, dear sister,” she said with a smile, as warmly as she could manage.

a soft smile tugs at her lips as she turns to face the familiar voice. "apologies, mama." she reaches forward for her mother's hand, "i do not wish to worry you." she takes in a breath and steps forward, feeling the chill of the night air for the first time tonight. "i wanted to consult the stars." with her appa on her mind, she redirects her glance back up to the sky. her mind is full of unanswered questions and while she sought comfort in the stars, it was not enough to satiate her curiosity.

the smile on daphne's lips dims ever so slightly, considering the thought. while she would not admit such a thing aloud, she found herself wondering if she intrigued him the way he fascinated her — his smile, warm and effervescent, could easily convince any young lady to do just about anything. herself included. her eyes quickly flicker down to his lips before meeting his eyes again, a slight smile returning to her lips. "—you do?" she asked quietly, as her heart rate began to pick up pace.

She did not know if it was proper to be this excited so she did all she could to remain as outwardly calm as possible. When his lips pressed against her gloved hand, a bright smile spread across her lips. For a feeling moment, she can think of nothing except the warmth of his mouth. It’s momentarily destabilising as all she can do is focus on regulating her breath. However, when he pulled away, she managed to regain some sense. “It is a pleasure to see you again,” she managed. “You are looking quite well.”

a response is on the tip of his tongue, but it never leaves his lips. he needed to bide his time, for they were playing a game of wills. as per usual. isabella's boldness had always intrigued him and despite the risk of their entanglement, kept him coming back to her. he moved closer toward her before pulling her close against him, turning her around so that her back pressed against his chest. a gentle hand brushed her hair behind her air before he leaned forward. "what is good for the spider is chaos for the fly." he whispered carefully into her ear as he wrapped an arm around her waist. "how would you have me behave, princess?"
