One of the most important details that I think haven't paid enough attention to in Ep 5 is that Lestat has read most of the ungrateful things Claudia had written about BOTH OF THE GUARDIANS , Lestat probably knew some stuff that Louis didn't know up until he reads them himself .

Claudia's face being worried about Louis reading her other diaries vs how he looks at Lestat knowing he read them . She knows she learned something he shouldn't have & that's probably gonna be not mentioned to Louis by Lestat at all bc he knows Claudia's words might hurt Louis 🙃

And another thing to add is I can't be sure Claudia brought all of his diaries to Paris with herself . I guess we need to watch S2 till the end to make sure of that . Because I myself believe she has hidden them in NOLA or somewhere else so that no one else OR LOUIS doesn't find them so that he can't let go of her easily . Which is something Louis won't do🥲 ( in Merrick even when he knows of how Claudia actually felt about her he still seemed to love her & again gets under Claudia's effect & kill himself )

Call of Duty Ghosts Relationship Headcanons

Prompt: How the Ghosts would act in a relationship.

Characters: David ‘Hesh’ Walker, Keegan P. Russ, and Thomas Merrick

David ‘Hesh’ Walker

I see Hesh as a man who is super loving and supportive of all of your goals in life. He’s your number one fan.

Expect to have a home with many dogs, he loves animals and will definitely be the kind of partner to pick up any stray to bring home.

He’s a subtle touch kind of man. He likes to link your hands together, brush against you slightly when he moves pass, he likes to kiss your knuckles as you relax after a long day.

Loves the beach. He’s from San Diego, so he used to surf the swells and play fetch with Riley on the beach. He likes to swim in the ocean with you and play fight in the waves.

Hesh is very good at plaiting, he’s always running his fingers through your hair and twisting patterns.

Hesh and you have matching beanies, he thinks it’s the cutest thing ever. He will push it over your eyes when you’re not paying attention.

Keegan P. Russ

Keegan is the type of person to never leave your side. He’s very protective, like your own personal shadow if you ever need it.

He’s not much of a talker in general, I don’t take him as much of the expressive type. He’s more of a I’ll show you how much I love you instead of saying it.

Picks flowers for you that he thinks are nice, shares part of his rations with you, gives you his jacket if you’re cold.

Is an excellent listener and only gives advice if you ask. Most times you’ll sit next to him, tucked into his side and he’ll just trace your arms or fingers, listening to you as you speak.

Likes to spend the day with you in the woods just soaking in the time alone away from fighting. He keeps a small journal that he writes in, he scribbles frequently about you and the things you like so he won’t forget.

When you’re alone, he loves to keep his mask off and simply be himself. He’s never opposed to kissing you.

Believe it or not he’s a very good dancer, before the federation took over, he was the main event at Marine Corp Balls. He will twist and spin you around expertly, he chuckles when you try to keep up.

Thomas Merrick

He’s the biggest teddy bear alive when it comes to his partner. He gives the biggest hugs and sometimes you need to remind him that you have breathe.

He’s very teasing and funny about your relationship, making dirty jokes and ruffling your hair occasionally.

Merrick is very good at fixing up things, he will spend hours in the garage fixing cars while you hand him tools.

I think Merrick is a good cook too, it surprises a lot of people that someone so loud and violent can bake excellent pastries.

Will let you shave for him, he just likes when you’re touching him. It keeps him grounded and happy.

Is very competitive, you’ve definitely had play fighting completions that usually ends with yourself slung over his shoulder and tackled into the couch.

Theory: Lestat is asleep in the Dubai Penthouse.

So I want to put this theory out before EP7 airs. I am nowhere close to 100% about it (barely even 50%), but I want to post it just in case I’m correct.

Since EP5, my belief has been that the 2022 part of the story takes place “during” Merrick. It doesn’t match Merrick 1-to-1, of course. But there are significant story points that match, particularly when it comes to Claudia’s diaries playing a significant role in the story and Louis attempting to end his un-life. 

And where was Lestat during Merrick? Asleep. Basically, in a coma. A coma he’d been in since right after book 5, Memnoch the Devil. 

In the books, Lestat went through basically three comas in his vampire life. (That I know of/remember. I don’t know if he goes through one in the Prince Lestat trilogy yet, since I just started it.) And I think the show has taken two of those comas and made them into one: the pre-Vampire Lestat coma and the post-Memnoch coma. 

This works because the timeline for everything in the show is shorter than it was in the books because of the aging up of Lestat before the events of Interview with the Vampire happen. (He’s 150 in vampire years in the show instead of just 10 as in the book.) During the time period the show is at by EP6, the middle to the end of the 1930s, Lestat was at the start of his second coma sleep in the books. 

And we already know from Claudia’s diaries in EP4 that she and Louis don’t get to Paris until 1945, after WWII is over and Paris was already liberated.  

That second coma sleep of Lestat’s lasted 55 years. And, gee, how long has it been since Louis gave that first interview to Daniel in 1973? 49 years now. 50 years exactly when S2 starts (assuming S2 comes out at the end of 2023.)

My theory? Lestat went to sleep sometime in 1967 or 1968. (Which, US history-wise, 1968 was a hell of a year. In the books, he went to sleep in 1929, the year of the Crash and the start of the Great Depression. Which was a fitting parallel.) 

If it was 1967, that would make it exactly 55 years since he was asleep by 2022, which is the year the show takes place in right now. 

Now, I couldn’t guess where Lestat might have started his over half a century of sleep. But I do think, at some point, his body was moved. And the place it was moved to was Dubai. Into the penthouse where Louis is living and now giving his do-over interview with Daniel. 

And Louis is now watching over him, as he was in Merrick when Lestat was in his post-Memnoch coma. I believe that part of Louis’ resting in EP4 was him also spending time with Lestat’s sleeping body, reading to him and such, as he did with Lestat's sleeping body in Merrick.

So, if this theory is correct, one of the final shots of EP7 will be the reveal of Lestat being asleep in another room in the Dubai penthouse.     

Rashid said Louis’ book isn’t just a warning to humanity but a lengthy suicide note. And I think it is a suicide note specifically for Lestat, for whenever Louis hopes Lestat wakes up. 

Just like the suicide note Louis left for the sleeping Lestat in Merrick.

Curious if the show is going to address this diary entry of Claudia’s from the book Merrick. This was written in a diary Louis was not aware of. It completely calls into question Claudia’s actual motivations behind what she did.

“September 21, 1859

It has been so many decades since Louis presented me with this little book in which I might record my private thoughts. I have not been successful, having made only a few entries, and whether these have been written for my benefit I am unsure.

Tonight, I confide with pen and paper because I know which direction my hatred will take me. And I fear for those who have aroused my wrath.

By those I mean, of course, my evil parents, my splendid fathers, those who have led me from a long forgotten mortality into this questionable state of timeless ‘bliss.’

To do away with Louis would be foolish, as he is without question the more malleable of the pair.”

Louis will do as I wish, even unto the very destruction of Lestat, which I plan in every detail. Whereas Lestat would never cooperate with my designs upon Louis. So there my loyalty lies, under the guise of love even in my own heart.

What mysteries we are, human, vampire, monster, mortal, that we can love and hate simultaneously, and that emotions of all sorts might not parade for what they are not. I look at Louis and I despise him totally for the making of me, and yet I do love him. But then I love Lestat every bit as well.

Perhaps in the court of my heart, I hold Louis far more accountable for my present state than ever I could blame my impulsive and simple Lestat. The fact is, one must die for this or the pain in me will never be sealed off, and immortality is but a monstrous measurement of what I shall suffer till the world revolves to its ultimate end. One must die so that the other will become ever more dependent upon me, ever more completely my slave. I would travel the world afterwards; I would have my way; I cannot endure either one of them unless that one becomes my servant in thought, word, and deed.

Such a fate is simply unthinkable with Lestat’s ungovernable and irascible character. Such a fate seems made for my melancholy Louis, though the destroying of Lestat will open new passages for Louis into the labyrinthian Hell in which I already wander with every new thought that comes in my mind.

When I shall strike and how, I know not, only that it gives me supreme delight to watch Lestat in his unguarded gaiety, knowing that I shall humiliate him utterly in destroying him, and in so doing bring down the lofty useless conscience of my Louis, so that his soul, if not his body, is the same size at last as my own.”

So glad you like!

So.... in real short: there's parts of the books where Lestat is either sleeping/in a coma, or roaming.

With Fareed already there, and Claudia's diaries on the table, the Dubai setting puts us into an interesting time frame, namely likely towards the Merrick ending / towards the "Prince Lestat" era. Rolin Jones held a lot of books into the camera once, and he specifically noted taking from Prince Lestat.

In episode 4 Louis is "resting", even though he invited Daniel explicitly for this interview, and he fed well the previous evening. In the book Merrick Louis goes and says goodbye to a comatose Lestat one evening... as Armand noted, Daniel is supposedly chronicling a suicide.

Merrick ends with Louis attempting to commit suicide, and Lestat waking up.

I think that is what we're headed for in s2.

Now, why Lestat is in the coma is a bit difficult, and we'll see what the show will do with it, but in the books he encountered the Devil and God and went a bit mad. The coma was not always voluntary, as his soul was taken away. Which would explain both Louis and Armand being so... well. Not particularly happy. As both love Lestat thinking him gone (or settled into statuesque as Those Who Must Be Kept) must have been very hard to witness.

Theoretically he could also be away, roaming, but I think then Armand would have found a way to reach him, given Louis' state of mind.

The ending of Merrick is a cataclysmic event which is related to the diary (singular in the book) - that event will change Louis, a lot. It also opens up the second arc of Lestat's and Louis' relationship and as such I think that is what will happen.

So... that absence in episode 4 was very telling, especially in combination with the diary, for me. We'll see of course if it holds^^. But as said before I cannot see them waste this event, it is too important for the character arcs.

Also, Lestat has to show up for s3 somehow.

Meaning whatever they'll do to segue into s3 has to happen or at least start in s2. :)

Has anyone else considered this might be David Talbot? He has the right look. He seems to know Louis & Armand pretty well to say "You fear Armand.. You should fear the other one."

Personally David was one of my favorite characters. Love the dynamic with Lestat. I hope they bring him into it.

We're also simply not as familiar with Merrick. This is also one of the last things we photographed, so we only got to the folders that were in boxes for other books that we considered a higher priority (sorry!) Still, enjoy!
