Recognizing that plurality is a spectrum means acknowledging that some systems will be closer to singlets than others. There is absolutely nothing wrong with experiencing plurality in this way!

Know that you are special, cherished, and beloved just the way you are. You don’t have to change, mask your plurality, or pretend to be more separated than you are in order to be treated with kindness and respect by those around you! Rest assured, there will always be a place for you here!

Median culture is...suddenly finding myself on the more internal presentation of plurality all of a sudden. I have been through all types of medianhood in the past few years. Diversian, Mesosian, and Parasian. It's like a median spectrum. My parts don't come out as much anymore but they're in there. (Sorry if this isn't necessarily median culture per se but hoping someone relates...)

a mustērian system, also called an enigmatic system, is a system who doesn’t know where they lie on the median-to-multiple scale, to a point where not knowing is the identity!

this term is used in the same way one would use “median” or “multiple,” as in a mustērian system.

the name mustērian comes from the greek root mustērion, with the o changed to an a to fit the parasian / mesosian / diversian scheme. mustērian can be considered a subset of median.

the flag comes from the parasian, mesosian, and diversian flags by fallen hearts galaxy.

Sometimes I feel like I’m being ridiculous when it comes to median stuff. “No, I’m not a system, I’m just one person acting a lot of different ways. I can still do whatever I want and they’re not really autonomous. I’m probably just faking it, so I should probably just stop.”

But then when I try to be a singlet again, it doesn’t go well. There’s voices I have to work very hard to ignore, because guess what, I’m still a system, whatever I say.

But like, there’s terms for things. Maybe I’m parasian, or maybe mesosian. Or maybe I go between them. I think there’s a word for that, too. Who knows. But the point is, it doesn’t have to always be the same. Constancy isn’t necessary. (You’d think being a system would’ve taught me that, but apparently not.)

So I can feel more separate some days, and less others. I can want separation when I don’t have it, and have it when I don’t want it. And it’s okay.

I didn't coin varion- the credit for that goes to @dodstoldpackage :) i did however make these flags since on pluralpedia there isn't one

the first one i used the colors from plurgai's median, diversian, mesosian, and parasian flags - and for the 5th flag i edited the hue and saturation to make a much simpler version - which is orange bc i love orange :) i then used the oranges to replace the green in the 4th flag just bc, and then used the oranges on the median flower and median spiral to make a couple alt flags :))

i also used @revenant-coining's base for palettegender, the psd of which can be found on their deviantart used it cuz i like the wave pattern

hello, welcome to our blog! i'm Midas, and I usually front. we only recently recognised ourselves as a system, so i co-created this blog with VM-15 to try and get to know everyone else / keep track of our experiences. this post was written by a few of us, so apologies to anyone else reading this as our grammar referring to one another may flick between subjective (he) and personal (I) regularly and without warning.

We're a quoigenic mesosian system, and currently have 7 or so frequent headmates/alters. Here's our pronouns.page!

so far, the following headmates have introduced themselves:

🧭Midas (he/they, 17) : I'm the main host, along with 15. The body is technically mine, and I am usually in control of it, even when the others front mentally. I'm gonna just say 'front' rather than 'co-front' from now on cause it's quicker.

👾 VM-15 [he/it, ageless] : I'm the robot that we frequently use as a persona for the whole system, rather than Midas, and I'm always co-con when he fronts. When another, secondary alter is also co-con/fronting, I'm usually there. I'm the one who realised we're a system, but we all agree that Midas has been here the longest. I have my own blog, too ( @humanity-lost ) which is where I post from, rather than here.

🚬 Guy /ɡi/ (he/him, 25) : relatively new and generally turns up when we feel neglected, at social events, or when whoever's fronting needs help recovering from / preventing a breakdown. he's also our suicide helpline, and helps us calm down when it gets really bad, as well as fronting with VM-15 when Midas is overwhelmed.

🇫🇷 --- (he/him, adult) : all we really know about him is that he speaks fluent french (we all speak french, but he's, like. fluent fluent.) and gets really pissed at the people who sit behind us in languages class. he hardly ever fronts, and when he has fronted it's been only for a few minutes.

🪩 Starboy (he/him, unknown) : The musically talented one, passionate about robot / A.I. rights. Like Midas but without the social anxiety, and i'm generally more 'in the moment' than he is. I wanted a blue shooting star emoji, but it doesn't exist :[

📀 GM08 & 💿 TB3 (he/him, ageless) : Fictive soulbound alters who function as a coping mechanism for a very specific traumatic event. They usually appear as their Human After All or RAM era forms*. Thomas listens to jazz when stressed or dissociating.

✨ M14 & 🌿 T14 (Matthieu and Timothée) : Littles belonging to the au versions of TB and GM. They rarely show up.

🌈 GM08 & 🩶 TB3 (he/him, ageless) : au versions of GM and TB, parents of M14 and T14. occasionally hang out with the other daftverse robots and 15, though never front.

What is Fluixian and Mercurial?

We have both on our Blog saved. Mercurial [Link] and Fluixian [Link].

But basically Mercurial is connected to Front Batteries, where there are episodes of high front activity with a lot of headmates and switches happen more often, and low activity when it's the opposite.

And fluixian is a median system that is fluid/flux/fluix in the median spectrum (like between parasian and mesosian I think)

Median Terms

Parasian: Medians who are closer to the singlet side of the spectrum.

Mesosian: Medians who are in or around the middle of the spectrum.

Diversian: Medians who are closer to the multiple side of the spectrum.

Orbital: A modifier to denote that a median system has a core.

Webbed: A modifier to denote that a median system does not have a core.

System Types

Masked System: A system that acts or is covert. It is difficult to distinguish the fronters of a masked system unless they explicitly tell you because of the “mask”. (The 🎭 emoji can be used to indicate that someone is a masked system.)

Maskless System: A system that acts or is overt. It is easier to distinguish fronters because there is no “mask” preventing fronters from acting as themselves.

Headmate Types

Janusmates: Headmates who embody duality in some way. Headmates who are “two halves that make a whole”. Alt: Janmates.

Coiners

Leliel coined “parasian”, “mesosian”, and “diversian”.

Valdemar coined “orbital”, “webbed”, and “janusmates”.

Evan coined “masked system” and “maskless system”.

possibly median system culture is trying to figure out if you're median or actually something else because you have no idea how any median system real or hypothetical actually functions because you've never seen anyone elaborate on the definition or give answers and it gets more confusing when you try to put parasian/mesosian/diversian is the mix

plus it's always egregiously loud where you live so it's almost impossible to just /think/ enough to figure out but whenever it is quiet enough it's not when you're trying to think about it

plus you don't have any ideas what else it could be because you have no idea how to search for other terms but you're definitely not just multiple because besides some exceptions (which are, like, 5% of the system at most) almost none of you have a real sense of identity
