Excerpt:

Something was shifting inside of Miguel.

He laid on his side so he could stare at the bouquet on the side table next to the couch bed he was staying on. It’s been days since Peter gave it to him, but Mary Jane was helping him maintain it for as long as possible, showing him how to trim the stems, add a little plant food from the packet that it came with. He lifted a hand up, touching the petals.

He sat up and leaned in to get a better whiff.

The hydrangeas didn’t really have a scent but the white roses did. It was faint, but pleasantly perfumed. He closed his eyes for a moment, sitting with the feeling that was pushing through from deep inside of him. He’s felt it before and also not. It was like listening to a similar but completely different song. He opened his eyes.

He felt like cooking.

Reposting a comment I made on a post and adding to it

x Reader fics need to handle writing “reader” better sometimes

As a 6ft afab person who’s built like a man and has never been super feminine and has a more unique haircut that’s shorter I hate to read about “readers” petite, small, pale body and her “long flowy straight hair”, etc.

Reader is meant to be ambiguous!! And if it’s important to the plot please mention it at the beginning!!! If it’s not important to the plot why is it being included???

Some people who are reading may be tall, fat, skinny, short, or even somewhere in between. The readers could have a hijab, 4c hair, locks, braids, long hair, short hair, wavy, no hair and even more.

Stop making all readers so sweet and innocent, I want a reader who’s petty and sassy sometimes. I’ve noticed also that so many readers are either too baby to do anything or over powered.

Personally I also hate reading about obviously toxic men and relationships that the reader goes back to because they are “so in love”, like no please let me deck that sucker and leave them in the dust and be happier.

Also, if you label your post with the tag “___ x reader” or titled with “___ x reader” and then make descriptions and then ADD A NAME!!! It’s not an x reader fic and I heavily want to block you.

Late post, but I had uploaded chapter 10 of Closer Still (Peter/Miguel focused but poly).

Excerpt:

Miguel woke up alone.

Alone and his senses unusually alert. He groaned as he rubbed his face. He wasn’t masked. He looked down. He was in sleep pajama pants. His private room was not as spacious as his apartment but he wasn’t ready to go back to that space. He muttered to himself as he rubbed his head. What was he doing earlier? Did he bonk his head? Drink? He couldn’t remember.

He slipped out of bed, his bare feet touching carpet -

He wasn’t in his private room in the lab. There was no carpet in there. He looked around. It wasn’t his apartment either but this place did look…familiar…

“It can’t be -“

He was still dreaming. There was no way in hell he was in that bedroom.

“Lyla.”
