Well I guess it’s the moment when I introduce myself…

Heyy everyone my name is Maë (I use she/her or they/their) I’m 18, I’m a French student currently redoing my senior year of highschool because I failed the first one 🤐 my previous “general"subject was sciences and this year I decided to change and take economic&social sciences (more my thing), my classes are economic&social sciences, English, maths, philosophy and history-geography

I decided to make a studyblr because I’m a huge procrastinator and I think that keeping a studyblr will help me to have some discipline and motivation. I thought about it a lot before making this account but everyone seems so nice and helpful so why not?

About the things I like:

I love music (all kind but country isn’t really my style…)

I’m a huge Lady Gaga fan

I play the piano

Feminism, lgbtq+ and mental health issues are really important to me

I’m an introvert & a little bit weird

low waste tips: student edition

choosing a low waste lifestyle can seem an impossible extra thing to juggle when you already have friends, assignments, exams etc. to manage. hopefully this post will inspire you to make some eco-friendly swaps and show you how easy it can be to live more mindfully

1. food shop with friends. food waste is one of the biggest ways we can create waste. shopping and cooking with friends is not only really fun but almost always works out cheaper and you’ll use up all your ingredients rather than having food left over. save leftovers for lunch the next day! 

2. go digital. if you have the option to type your notes and submit essays electornically then do so! you’ll save loads of paper. however, some people with learning difficulties find it easier to read with hard copies rather than on a laptop, and that is fine. just make sure you print double sided and recycle those print-outs after

3. ditch the car. travelling to and from uni via train is much better than using a car, if you can’t avoid the car then offer to car share. while at uni try and cycle, walk or use public transport as much as possible rather than driving (or ubering) short journeys. you’ll save money and the planet

4. second hand shopping/clothes swaps. there’s lots of pressure in student environments to wear the coolest clothes and to wear different things all the time. choose second hand rather than fast fashion.

5. sell your old clothes. selling your unused clothes on ebay or depop is a great way to earn a little extra cash. don’t let your old clothes be part of the 98% that are burned or go to landfill

6. borrow. there are always one-off events that you need a fancy dress/suit for. try and borrow or rent those items instead of buying something you’ll only wear once. 

7. choose your stationery wisely. do you really need 5 notebooks? could you use a wooden pencil instead of a plastic pen? can you find recycled paper? little choices added together make a big difference

8. choose your drinks. drinking culture is everywhere at university and what you drink and how much is a personal choice. try and opt for drinks that come in aluminium cans (beer or cider) or glass bottles (spirits or wine). mixers are hard to find without plastic

9. refuse the straw. when you’re out this is a simple way to save the environment. just say no

10. find the university’s eco societies. surrounding yourself with and learning from environmentally-minded people is a great way to make low waste living easy. they will also be able to give you university-specific advice (e.g. where to find plastic-free veg and which cafes give you a discount for bringing your own cup)

Starting the new year (roaring 20′s) one of my goals has been to be a more dedicated and proactive in my studies whether they are academic assignments or lighthearted interests I’ve picked up. I want something that will help me track my progress while keeping me honest and inspired to continue achieving my goals. Here are some of my goals:

THE INTRO

Hello everyone! New studyblr here. I’ve been lurking in the shadows of the studyblr community for a very long time now. But it is not until recently that I finally mustered enough courage to join this amazing community. So without further ado, here is my introduction:

Basics:

I go by Audrey (she/her pronouns)

(Almost) 20 and Aries, but don’t really feel like either

INFP, though some people have told me that I could be quite cynical

I’m in my second year in university

I’m a Biochemistry major, wanting to live in a lab forever (ooh look it rhymes!)

I’m currently on an internship but still trying to learn some basic French in my free time

Interests:

Absolutely love reading: I have an undying love for poetry, no matter the type. Currently, I’m trying to finish  “New American Best Friend” by Olivia Gatwood.

Fancy (sounding) words: yup pretentious I know, but something about them is so addicting to me. I only speak 2 languages so far and always find myself drawn to words that are on the more grandiose side of both languages I’m so sorry please bear with me 

Psychology, and the biology aspects of it: I’m currently trying to learn more about serotonin syndrome and the portrayal of psychiatric medications books/movies for young adults.

A cinephile (fancy word count no.1): I love movies/ series as well as video essays analyzing cinematography, scriptwriting, and characters. Recently, I’ve been binging Euphoria (pure perfection!) and Fruit Basket (this anime turns me into a crying mess every time).

A melophile as well (fwc no.2): I listen to almost anything and am always eager to discover new music. But no matter what, I will always have a soft spot for the pop-punk bands I grew up with. I also enjoy making playlists for different moods, learning about people through their music (here’s my Spotify if you’re up for sharing music), and watching analysis videos on the anatomy of songs

I think I just love analysis videos in general?

Creating artsy stuff (sketches, music, poems, etc): aka my coping mechanisms. I probably enjoy writing the most but somehow the majority of my works are sadly unfinished.

Coding: I’m self-taught so I ain’t that good. But personally, I find it really fun and would love to learn and challenge myself more with it.

Goals:

To motivate myself out of the procrastination quicksand

To keep track of my study and productivity progress 

To have a place to review/ modify my study techniques and habits and better my efficiency

To be more involved in this lovely studyblr community and hopefully motivate others too

To make more friends, through studying as well as music

wasabi homies!!

so i’ve been around on the studyblr-sphere for a while as tinyequations and tiniesteconomist and most recently as hinatastudy, but i’ve given my blog a bit of a revamp seeing as i never really stuck around before and i’m determined to make this work and actually make friends here, so i just wanted to properly introduce myself!

about me: my name is dei and i’m twentyone years old, living in london and going into my second year at birkbeck, university of london where i study economics.  academic past: as my a-level grades weren’t stunning due to mental health complications and family issues, i ended up at london metropolitan university (business economics). having got a 80% in my first year there, i have decided to transfer universities to birkbeck. i do continue to struggle with university as i also work full time in order to live independently in london. why did i start a studyblr?: i want to track my progress while in university and help me independently learn korean, as well as share advice when things don’t go so smoothly in school! i also like seeing pretty stationary. interests: as you can see, i love spiderman and the entire spiderverse! i like reading manhwas and comics when i have the time, but i’m surprisingly not that big into fictional books nowadays. i’m super into art so when i’m not complaining about inflation and capitalism, i’m drawing. i’m a baby witch and wiccan after many years of practising divination so i might occasionally reblog and post little tips on that. i can’t really sum all my interests so you’re better off being my friend and finding out that way instead!!!
