analog horrors are one of my major interests and i recently watched the boiled one phenomenon and for the first time in awhile i was actually Disturbed by something and everything was fine until it got to be really late at night... i usually go to bed between 10-11 and i was up until 12-1 two nights in a row because i so scared to turn off my lights or go into my bathroom to shower because i was convinced that ugly red bitch was gonna GET ME!!!!!!!!!!! i haven't been so paralyzed by fear in such a long time and i wonder why it even happened in the first place... but it definitely confirmed that i need counseling or medication or something.

Morrican Gaunt, the man who Ominis called father in only the technical sense, strode toward him in a few long steps. "Your mother misses you. She'll be so shocked to hear you're nearly as tall as me, now. She wants you to return home this summer, instead of staying with your school friends.”

"Doesn't she have enough? She still has Morfin, Moraz, and Marvolo to live up to the family name. You obviously never wanted me to begin with. Why should I feel anything for you in return?"

"Because your eldest brother has been hospitalized." Ominis froze, his mind racing through a list of possible options, only to be disappointed when it was revealed that the true cause was just an accident. His father's voice was strangely devoid of emotion as he spoke. "It's quite serious. He may never recover."

So now they want to sweet-talk me into coming back home, since their precious eldest son might not make it? How charming to know I'm good enough to be an afterthought. "It's a shame things happened that way. If only Morfin had blown himself up enough to guarantee his death."

"How dare you!" his father snarled, pushing Ominis back by the shoulders. "You're a disgrace to your family and always will be, you deformed worm. Unfortunately for us, you will always be a Gaunt. No matter how hard you try to hide it, you still wear our family name, Ominis. So, you might as well enjoy it."

“I don’t care what you say, I’m not coming back to that house. I’d rather be homeless and nameless.” Ominis had dealt with enough, so he turned on his heels, ready to beg the gargoyle to take him back down, when he felt a hand on his shoulder. His father wouldn't let him leave so easily.

"I know about the Weasley boy."

Summary of full fic:

The Ancient Magic is safely hidden. Ranrok has been defeated. Harlow and Rookwood are no longer a threat. Sebastian's worst impulses have been tempered. Anne hasn't felt this good in years.

But Sebastian, Ominis, Natty, and Cassie can't shake the feeling that something is wrong.

In this sequel to "Because I Found You", four friends in their sixth year will wrestle with the cost of trauma. It's not exactly easy to pick up the pieces after the battle is won.

also love the idea that mccree loved to read and write as a kid. like he doesn’t look like it at first glance but he was such a creative kid?? and he wanted to do something related to writing professionally but never thought he would be able to until overwatch/gabe offered him the opportunity to go to school and get a degree. just like.. the idea of mccree being able to actually live out his dream of becoming a writer despite him thinking he’d never be able to.... makes me soft man

it’s weird going through the process of Unlearning what my mother , a social worker , taught me about severely disabled people while going through my own disability journey . i can’t remember what she Exactly told me , but i remember growing up and feeling uncomfortable interacting with them because i just didn’t know what to say . on top of auditory processing issues and (possible) autism affecting how i socialise(d) , it was difficult all around but i still made the effort to because i really did want to talk with them . my mother portrayed them as ✨ People That Just Needed A Little Help ✨ and looking back on it its appalling. a SOCIAL WORKER WITH A PHD talking about disabled people like if you give them what they need to live they’ll be cured . she still speaks like this and it’s become even more apparent now that i’ve noticed my own physical health declining to the point i need a cane to walk long distances . it made me realise that if she talks about severely disabled people like that , how will she talk about me ? she proclaims to be inclusive and respectful of all , but is exactly the opposite when it comes to those who are more disabled than society likes to acknowledge .

The queue for storytellers was enormous but the tales were taller. We had actually I found this link from the morrican storytellers website and saved it to listen to one evening by the faux fire.

I actually wasn’t looking at the screen that night I was sewing but you can imagine when I caught a glimpse of the camera and these were a few of the faces!

being an ( undiagnosed ) disabled AND neurodivergent person in a college environment is ABSOLUTELY deserving of a PhD right off the bat . i don’t care that it takes two extra years on top of the basic 4 years at most institutions - the fact that i have to force myself out of bed ( or be late and have it affect my grade ) , walk ACROSS CAMPUS to catch a shuttle ( that i’m lucky isn’t too far away but it’s nonetheless exhausting ) , attend a class that i barely get anything from because my disorders cause me brain fog and an inability to focus that comes off as carelessness to teachers so they’re less apt to agree when i ask for help , repeat the SAME THING to get BACK to my dorm which is on the THIRD FLOOR , which by then i’m absolutely exhausted and will mostly likely need to nap , and you expect me to be able to put the effort in to work on my assignments DAILY for HOURS AT A TIME , AND turn in my assignments on time ?? i have to sit in my bed doing jack shit for the rest of the day EVERY SINGLE DAY to only have the “”””energy”””” to do it when i have to or i’ll get a zero and fail the class . i think i deserve a lot more than just an associate’s for FOUR FUCKING YEARS of this bullshit frankly . . .
