my favorite thing about batman and his kids is that all their issues could be solved if they sat down and communicated like normal people but instead they all know martial arts and beat the shit out of each other

"The rift between him and his brother and sister has sort of widened and widened and whereas he's trying to be all mature and get over it, Neil [Jordan] was always keen on Juan coming back different and secure and grounded. That’s how I wanted to play it when he came back. He's spent the entire first series being picked upon and bullied by the family. I think the shock of Lucrezia actually manning up and trying to kill him had a huge effect as well. He’s growing and maturing. If there’s one aspect of Juan that never changes throughout both seasons is he always does what it true inside him. From where Juan stands he sees the hypocrisy in the family, how they can do one thing and say another. As far as Juan is concerned he's always had the best interests of the family at heart." — David Oakes.

lords in black human au
im not talking, like, them pretending to be humans. im saying some fucked up ritual erased all their memories of their godliness whatever the fuck and they're trapped in human bodies
each of them has their own "life" that was made for them, but their "best friends" dont remember them for a hot second. their bodies feel wrong. their memories are fuzzy. they dont remember their childhood. whos webby?
some random ideas i wanna throw out there before i forget them all
"waylon" is a shareholder of toyzone, where a new toy called a wiggle me wiggly has just arrived. its a weird little thing, but its strangely familiar and comforting
"pietro" is a famous song writer. hes demanding and harsh, forcing his actors to act the exact way he wants, speak the exact way he wants. but they cant do it right. everyone is so goddamn useless
"bryson" is a freelance journalist. he knows every secrets in hatchetfield, every relationship, nothing goes on without him knowing. its the only thing entertaining him, keeping his mind off the discomfort that is everything about his life
"toby"'s best friend has been peter spankoffski for years. he remembers them playing together with peter's brother ted. but ever since last friday, their relationship has been strained. its unnatural. its like theyve never met before
"nash" doesnt fit in at school. hes constantly hungry, his stomach hurts, his eyes are blurry, and everyone around him just suddenly looks so tasty
they get nightmares of evil, cruel creatures. everything just keeps getting worse, the discomfort, the hungriness, the frustration, the shadows at the corner of their eyes
maybe theres a mysterious white lady who keeps appearing and giving them cryptic messages. who knows
honestly all this is just self indulgent angst.

House MD makes me absolutely FERAL.
For instance, I finished rewatching S3 E15, "Half-Wit", the one when House fakes cancer so he can get high (typical). And
AHHH
Everyone's response to House potentially dying is EVERYTHING. And displays both the characters and their character growth SO WELL.
Wilson, ofc, is offended that his best friend *cough* *lover* *cough* didn't say anything, and hid it. And something I think (and forgive me if this is not actually how it went down to everyone else, it's 1am and I have brainrot) is really interesting, is that beyond Wilson giving House shit for not saying anything, Wilson doesn't give any of the platitudes that everyone else gives. We don't see Wilson trying to "fix" anything or say, "House your dying, can we have an actual human connection for once?". No no, Wilson just lets him be.
Now, either Wilson is pissed and reeling from this news , and is just distancing himself (which tbh feels ooc, like House has crossed worse lines before, and Wilson deals with cancer everyday, idk).
OR you can look at the option of Wilson knows House well enough (and cancer, let's be real) that trying to fix it, won't change anything, that coming up to House and trying to "console" him won't do anything. House is House, and Wilson KNOWS THAT. Wilson knows that if House really and truly wants a conversation about it, or any comfort, House will just be like, " Yo, can we go get wasted?" and that's that.
AND THEN HIS FUCKING ANALYSIS AT THE END AND HIM FUCKING LAUGHING AT THE IRONY.
And Cuddy, I feel like, is the middle ground between how Wilson and the kids react. She doesn't go out of her way to say something, but in an almost hand-on-the- doorknob-as-I'm-leaving type way does she say something. AND THEN THEIR BANTER IN THE HALL IS FUCKING EVERYTHINGG. And her FUCKING smile as House grabs her ass (istg I can only say this in real action to this fucking show) but still dismissing him coming to the bedroom with her
Like both her and Wilson and obviously hurt, right, but they don't outright change their behavior toward House or anything, but they accept it (kind of) and don't go out of their way to change anything,
AND THEN THE KIDS' RESPONSES. ANHHH
I love Chase's moment. He's just like, "Dad, shut up and let me hug you" AND FUCKING STARTS CRYING
CHASE IS LITERALLY THE ONLY ONE WHO CRIES
He's like, "Goddammit, I'm going to lose two of my parentals to this cancerous bullshit. Tf."
AND HUGH LARUIE'S ACTING I CANT
YOU CAN SEE HOUSE REALIZING THAT, "oh shit, they really care and this is really going to hurt them" LIKE WHAT THE HELL. MY HEART, FUCK THIS SHOW WTH
And I love how Cameron is shown in this episode, over the first three seasons, we can see her kinda of coming to her own, and learning from House, so instead of like, backing down from helping House she just fucking kisses him so she can steal his blood. Like. YES CAMERON. GET IT.
AND AGAIN
HUGH LAURIE. YOU CAN SEE HOUSE'S HESITATION, WEIGHING THE PROS AND CONS BEFORE KSSING BACK.
And tbh I feel like House is low key proud of Cameron for a moment in a "she is taking after me" type way.
And Foreman trying not to care, but caring the whole time, and HIS FACE WHEN HES TELLING HOUSE HE DOESNT HAVE CANCER. LIKE. JXNKSCVJVXFBJKBFVSKJ
And I just love everyone's reaction five seconds later when they realize
"House is an addict. Right. Fucking this was a sham, fuck"
AND THEIR FACES ARE EVEYTHING
Cameron is crestfallen, outraged. Foreman is slightly pissed but completely nonplussed almost? Like a I should have expected this/this is such a House thing, which is why I dislike the man. And his sarcastic response is EVERYTHING And, Chase, oh Chase. He's so disbelieving and hurt. Like my baby I'm so sorry.
And House like really understanding how much this hurt them, and kinda of being a fucking TOTAL IDIOT and like slightly scared I feel but arrogant enough to just fucking like. Trying to blame so he doesn't feel guilty (he does) pushing them away so he doesn't have to face consequences (he's spiraling) and and after Wilson (finally) talks to him, having to stop and THINK about how fucking miserable is he really (he's such and idiot) and just AHHH
AND THEN HIM FUCKING GOING INTO THE RESTAURANT AT THE END?????? ITS A FUCKING CRIME THAT WE DON'T SEE THAT CONVERSATION BETWEEN HIM AND THEM. LIKE SIR, I WANT TO THIS POTENTIALLY EMOTIONALLY CHARGED MOMENT. LIKE
And honestly, Ilove how House interacts with the patient in the episode, it's on par with the boy who had autism earlier this season. Like the piano part is what really intrigues him, but still goes forth to give him his life back. Idk, just felt special.
Okay, um so thank you for coming to my Ted Talk. Idk what happened.

S7's The Void is vaguely reminiscent of s5's Night, but they show Janeway in a much better mental state, and how much she has learned to ease up on the distance she maintains from her crew as captain.
The openings of the two episodes have a much different tone. In Night, there's a distinct lack of Janeway. She's MIA, and crew is anxious and antsy because of their situation and missing leader. In The Void, they open on a scene of the senior staff enjoying their time together. They're laughing and sharing a meal, teasing each other like a family. Then they're thrust into the anomaly. Both instances of "the void" lack stars, both are potentially long-term situations without a clear means of escape besides getting through it. Night has a tone of uneasy calm, but there are other ships and adversaries in The Void, adding an element of urgency.
When we finally see Janeway in Night, she is kicking herself for her decision making:
CHAKOTAY: We were faced with a difficult choice. We had the means to get home but using it would've put an innocent people at risk, so we decided to stay. JANEWAY: No. No, no. I decided to stay. I made that choice for everyone. CHAKOTAY: We're alive and well, and we've gathered enough data about this quadrant to keep Starfleet scientists busy for decades. Our mission's been a success. JANEWAY: The very same words I've been telling myself for the past four years. But then we hit this Void, and I started to realise how empty those words sound. CHAKOTAY: Kathryn. JANEWAY: I made an error in judgment, Chakotay. It was short-sighted and it was selfish, and now all of us are paying for my mistake.
In The Void, Janeway and Chakotay have a similar conversation, but she accepts her error and her support network with less resistance and less self flagellation. With the urgency of the other attacking ships, there is less mental space to become concerned with mistakes, but her dialogue shoes that it is still a thought that is ever present in her mind.
JANEWAY: Impulsive and self-righteous? Is that what you think? CHAKOTAY: You did what you had to do. JANEWAY: Still, I made a mistake. ... JANEWAY: Maybe not. But if I'd listened to my doubts in the first place, we wouldn't have lost the other two ships. ... CHAKOTAY: B'Elanna and the other engineers are working around the clock to build one. She thinks they'll be ready to test in a couple of days. JANEWAY: So everyone's pulling together to make up for my mistake. CHAKOTAY: They have to. It says so in the Federation Charter.
Granted, it helps that she has some rules to point to for accepting Chakotay's insistence that they're in it together, but the situation in The Void very well could have had her fall back into old patterns we saw in Night. One of the reasons she fights so hard to create and alliance and get the ship and crew out of their situation and back into normal space is because there is an "echo of the void." This time, she isn't as inwardly focused. She is listening to her crew, even when they're being critical. You can see the impulse towards blaming herself for the whole situation, but she's pulled out of her pattern of thinking much easier this time.

domestic vegaspetemacau thoughts incoming.
vegas keeps a picture of pete and macau in his wallet for sure. they are his lockscreen. if pete had a photocard, vegas would keep it in his phone. his password is something related to pete (therefore macau regularly gets into his accounts). vegas probably commissions a huge painting of pete or the two of them together OR the three of them together or ALL of these because he is such a lover loser (txt starts playing)
yknow how kim kept chay’s little polaroids and the move ticket and all that? vegas keeps all their little things too. he secretly takes pictures of pete and has a whole album for them. he keeps every tag from a gift he got from pete. you can’t prove nor disprove me on this but vegas regularly writes love letters to pete. does he give them to him? who knows but either way, he writes him letters because his feelings overwhelm him so much, he needs to let them out.
they have a picture of the 3 of them on their fridge, the magnet they use to pin it was bought on their first vacation together. they leave e/o lil notes on the fridge to each other every day, such as “i love you 💙”, “don’t forget to eat ❤️” and “take a jacket, it’s cold outside. ily”. they do these little things for each other, like vegas making them breakfast every morning, pete packing macau and vegas lunch, macau organizing family nights with movies and board games, all three of them grasping at any semblance of regularity, of a normal, domestic life.
macau is a skater boi TM so he nags pete until he agrees to try it out n turns out he’s very good? macau is impressed, “damn, you’re much better than my brother,” and he’s even more impressed by how strong, fast and smart pete is, “how did my lame ass bro score someone as cool as you?” vegas def sulks a little because HEY i used to be the cool brother? i raised you hello?? but macau just sticks out his tongue and cuddles up to pete (all while holding vegas’ hand it’s okay he’s a cuddly clingy boy)
while i’m here, i think macau definitely idolizes vegas to a certain degree, he’s the only role model he’s ever had but he’s a brat so now that he has pete, too, he can allow himself to tease vegas and poke fun of him (it makes him happy that he can make pete laugh, too, and he can see the grin on vegas’ face, even if he tries to hide it with a grimace). macau’s just a funky little boy who wants to be loved, he wants to be part of a loving, caring family for once in his life. pete would give his life for him and not just because of vegas, not just because he’s vegas’ little brother, but because he actually cares for and loves macau, and macau can feel it. pete makes sure to show him how precious he is and how loved he is, by both of them.

(Dad)
((More pre divorce Eurodyne Family bc I’m free to write what I want))
Every since Ted was born, Kerry hadn’t known peace. But in the kid’s defense, when did he ever know peace? And don’t get him wrong, he loved his son more than anything. Ted had brought Kerry and Louise so much joy and laughter, for a moment everything seemed perfect.
“Dad?”
“Yeah, bug?”
“What is-“
But sometimes the poor kid asked more questions than Kerry had answers too. And don’t get him wrong, he thought Ted’s curiosity was great (right? Parents were supposed to think that right?)
Kerry knew he wasn’t doing this dad thing correctly. Ted’s cries sounded like nails on a chalkboard, his constant questioning became overwhelming fast, his bad nights made but a bad night for everyone… and yet Kerry loved him more than anything.
Ted was around six or so when Kerry and Louise’s relationship truly began to spiral. They tried their best to hide it from their boy, most of their arguments happening after Ted was asleep. They knew their curious boy would have questions they struggled to answer like that.
But when Ted was seven, Louise got pregnant again. And Ted just had to ask that one really awkward question.
“Dad?”
“Yeah, bug?”
“How did mommy get the baby in her belly?”
Louise hid her laugh behind her laptop, Ted looking up at him with those big innocent brown eyes while Kerry fought the mental battle.
“Why don’t you ask mommy that question, babes?”
“Nononono, daddy is the expert on this sweetheart!” Louise urged, laughing behind her hand.
“Thanks hon.” Kerry grit out, pulling Ted into his lap. Time to change the subject. “Are you excited for the new baby?”
“Yeah! I wanna play with her and show her all my cool toys! Do you think she’s gonna like transformers?”
“Maybe. You keep saying she, you want a baby sister?”
“Yeah! She’s gonna be super cool, like you and mom!”
Ted rested his head on Kerry’s shoulder, his legs over one side of Kerry’s lap. The mood seemed to switch to a somber tone, Kerry looking over at his wife.
They had to make this work, for Ted and the new baby’s sake. Kerry never expected himself to be such a family man, but he couldn’t leave them behind…
