Since western media (especial American) are working overtime to suppress South Africa's hearing and Yemeni voices I want you to keep these 3 points in mind:
Not 1 major American news outlet broadcasted the South Africa case hearing on Thursday, but they broadcasted Israel's case hearing, today, Friday 12/1/2024.
Yemen has repeatedly said that the Red Sea blockage is because it's following its duty to upload "Article 1 on the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the crime of Genocide" and IS NOT to "endanger the freedom of navigation in one of the world's most vital waterways" like Biden put it, in his statement.
Gaza Strip is still under severe bombardment. Don't allow yourself to get used to it. They just bombed an entire neighborhood in Khan Yunis which is a southern city! And as of recently the electricity has gone off in a hospital because gas has ran out.

my top bit of advice going into the new year: compliment people. especially strangers. literally everyone you interact with if you can. when you buy coffee in the morning compliment the barista's tattoos. when you're chatting with a coworker tell them that by the way you like their outfit. always find something they've chosen to do on purpose. nail polish, jewellery, tattoos, hair colour/style, statement accessory, outfit, etc are all good bets. things people hope will be noticed. things that aren't too personal so it doesn't make them uncomfortable (eg probably not their physical features). i've gotten into the habit of scanning everyone i talk to for something about them that i think is cool so i can tell them. it's a great habit because it makes me notice people and realise just how many neat little details there are in people's presentation of themselves that might pass me by if i wasn't paying attention. and it brings out so much joy. you'd be surprised how much it disarms people to receive an unexpected compliment from someone they don't know. it is the most sincere smile you will see all day long. it feels nice to make people happy but it also means you win the social interaction. establish dominance by complimenting a stranger's earrings and disappearing into the fog

to be honest, I have a black belt in ignoring reality... In addition, only the second degree of hearing loss is very conducive to this. After all, I've stopped wearing devices at work lately, and I'm doing great, even among people.
Nevertheless, yesterday I watched Jessica's video about her chronic illness and noted important points for myself.
it is a very important remark that at the moment of diagnosis, we begin to hope that in the future they will definitely come up with a magic pill and save us. The realization that this would not happen hit me the hardest on the day when the doctors at the ENT-Center said they couldn't do anything else. well, they can't, at least in R*ssia, treat hearing loss. Do you have hearing aids? Are they working? Well, that's great…
it is very important to slowly understand how your body works, and gradually put up supporting columns: the necessary pills (I don't have them :(( food, sleep, some of your life hacks + of course, supportive people. then, despite the fact that the disease itself will not go away, it will be possible to live quite normally
