One of the main reasons I love things like Reverse Robins AUs, is how they can help you figure out what's important to a character, and then look at those things through a fun house mirror to learn them better.

This is why my new favourite Reverse Robins concept is Tim, the second Robin, dying protecting a 4 year old Dick Grayson and his parents from the Court of Owls.

Part of why he dies is that Damian has made showing weakness so painful that he doesn't call for help. Dick leaves Gotham with his parents and gets another 5 years of happiness before they're killed by Tony Zucco. Tim becomes a Talon. He becomes active in Gotham when Jason is 16, and nobody knows who he is until Dick has become the newest Robin and the Court sentences Batman and Robin to death, a year and a half later.

Things that I find really satisfying about this idea:

It keeps the canon Dick+Tim 'Relationship Transformed by Kindness and Death' dynamic, but flips it. Instead of Dick being trapped in the place of his tragedy, surrounded by reminders, and Tim growing up silently watching him; we have Dick being whisked away from his tragedy, growing up surrounded by reminders of what's been saved.

It allows us to play with Jason's 'I Can't let Go of My Death and So I've Lost Myself and Everything I Loved' issues. Tim can't let go of his death, and it's his only link to himself and everything he's lost. He remembers saying 'The Flying Grayson's will fly again!' Keeping Dick alive is more important than avoiding being thrown back in the Labyrinth. Protecting Dick from the Court is his path back to his family.

It keeps the obsession and connection between Tim and Dick, instead of trying to convince the reader that Tim idealized Damian. I've struggled to translate Tim's motivation for becoming Robin in a reversed setting, and I can't make it work. This gives that motivation to Dick, instead, and allows us to explore how DICK would have been transformed by that one meeting. He didn't need love and affection in the same way Tim did. But I can see him holding on to the hope and heroism he saw, and instead of getting consumed by his rage when his parent's die, he's motivated to live up to Robin's legacy.

It gives a reason for my favourite reversed dynamic: instead of Bruce being broken by Jason's death, Bruce is convinced to step up by Tim's. In this universe, Bruce didn't choose either of his first 2 kids, and found it easier and safer to deny Tim even WAS his kid. (During Tim's tenure, Batman and Robin start patrol from the central Wayne Ent. Batcave, leaving the Manor to Damian, because it's easier than keeping Damian's vicious resentment and jealousy in line. Tim learns to mostly avoid the Waynes as civilians. Bruce deals with anything he sees, but doesn't confront the roots of the issues, and Tim loves being Robin but never feels particularly safe in the role.) Bruce 'got a kid killed' by holding him at arms length, and so, when Jason comes into his life and Bruce's attempts to find him a better place are stopped by corruption at every turn, Bruce chooses to truly become a parent.

One of the few things Tim remembers is his certainty that Robins aren't safe around Damian. This lets me keep Dick's canon struggles with Tim and Damian's conflicting needs. Both want to protect him, but Tim wants to protect him FROM Damian, and clingy baby Dick idolizes Tim, but NEEDS to hang off various parts of Damian for as much of the day as possible. Damian is drowning in guilt and wants to make Tim as comfortable as possible, but has committed to raising Dick. He can't let Tim stay between the 2 of them at all times.

It doesn't give as many hooks for Tim and Jason's relationship as I like. And I remain conflicted about whether Cass and Steph should come before Tim (to properly reverse canon) or after Tim (to make them contemporary with Jason, because he deserves to have contemporaries in AUs. Canon denied him). Duke is swapped with Babs, and I have fun thoughts about him, but that's a different post.

Remus stares at the seam of the wedding photo, made whole again after more than a decade. His Pa, Patton, familiar with his cowboy-handsome, weather-beaten face and his dimpled grin and his big, calloused hand resting over his new husband’s, even if Remus has never seen him look this smitten ever. 

“And we’re both born on October 11… then, Roman. You and I are… like… brothers.”

And his Dad—Janus—smiling coyly, handsome in the way of magazine models, so completely a stranger to Remus with just this scrap of a photograph to serve as any way to know him, really know him. The way Roman knows him. The way Remus has been dying to know him all his life.

“Remus,” Roman breathes out, disbelieving. “We aren’t just brothers. We’re twins.”

Remus wonders, in a daze, if seeing the opposite life he could have had is as strange for Roman as it is for him… if they’d just been switched at birth, it’s the life Remus could have had, knowing his Dad instead of his Pa, but then…

But then it clicks.

“Roman,” he says, turning to grin at his brother—his brother! “I have a completely perfect, totally awesome idea!”

I'm loving all the gravity falls aus and am somewhat hyperfixating on them but have any of us considered

Reverse Falls Stan would make a deal with Bill

My reasoning for believing this is simple:

- Stan doesn't know enough about Bill or what Ford's been through since their estrangement to know Not to trust him

- he's trapped and alone in universes that aren't his own

- he's upset that the last time he saw Ford they ended up fighting again

- he has no clue what he's doing! He's brute forcing and con manning his way through life, like he'd learned to do after his parents kicked him out

- Bill could appear to him. Make promises to bring him home. Do so again and again and again while Stan slowly loses hope in the belief that Ford was coming for him.

- Stan hates himself. But he misses his brother. He'd convince himself that it was his fault he fell through the portal. It'd be easy for Bill to sway him into believing that he needs his help to get home, even if he tries to ignore him.

- Bill knows how to manipulate people. He's done it to the Pines family again and again. The only reason Stan never fell for it initially is because he was desperate to bring Ford home, and he had the journals and knew that Ford didn't trust Bill. He doesn't have that motivation or that knowledge here.

- Bill would Also know a lot about Stan because of Ford. Especially the fact that Ford blamed Stan for "ruining his life". Do you know how easily he'd be able to twist that in his own favour?

- Ford's biggest weakness is his ambition, his belief that he's better and deserves better than others. On the other side of things, Stan's biggest weakness is his self doubt. His self loathing. His lack of ability to believe that he's worth anything. Bill can and will use this to his advantage.

Reverse Falls AU Ch. 1

This is an AU I've been writing based on the Gravity Falls Reverse Falls AU. The entire thing will be up on AO3 soon but i'm posting the first chapter here in the meantime. I hope you enjoy! :D

Pacifica Southeast was a curious spirit. Her parents both knew this. So when she snuck downstairs one night to overhear them in a heated argument about money troubles, they thought it best to send her away for the remainder of the summer. They sent her up to the northwest to go stay with her cousin Gideon Pines. She had never heard of a place called “Gravity Falls” before and the postcard in her hand depicting pine trees and a bright sunny sky almost seemed hard to believe. She flipped the paper over in her hands and read the back of the note written by her great uncle Bud Pines 

“Can’t wait to have you up here! There’s lots of mystery in a town like this one!” - Bud

The cursive was a bit hard to read, but it eased Pacificas worry about the trip a little more. She clutched her purple duffle bag a bit closer to her on the bus as she looked at her surroundings. The bus seemed empty except for her seat, the orange text flashing on the front of the bus clearly read “Next stop: Gravity Falls” and it only made her more nervous for her arrival. Her eyes darted to the window where she saw fir trees, hemlocks, and large redwoods passed by her. 

Soon enough the bus came to a screeching halt as it had arrived at the saddest bus stop ever. None seemed to be waiting on the benches, and Pacifica was worried she had been forgotten about. She reluctantly took her bag and stepped off the bus after thanking the driver. She looked around before spotting someone jogging over to her. A young boy, probably a year younger than her with stark white hair and blue eyes. She recognized him from family photos to be her cousin Gideon and greeted him with a warm smile and waved him over. “Hey summer buddy!!” She cheerfully said to the boy. She didn’t know much about the boy, but her parents mentioned he was a bit timid. “..Hello Pacifica..” Gideon replied after finally reaching her. Now that he was closer, she got a better look at his appearance. He wore navy cargo shorts with a black hoodie. She could also see small freckles adorned his cheeks and nose. He looked up at her, considering she was a bit taller than him, and noticed his moonlight blue eyes. “Wow! You gotta grow a bit more. You look as short as you do in the family photos from when you were five!” Pacifica jokes with him. Gideon smiles at the comment before looking her up and down to come up with his own comeback “And you look like a rainbow thrown up on you!” he says. “Thank you!” Pacifica proudly says. It was true, her bright purple sweater had pink stars sewn into it, and her skirt was pink to fit the color scheme. A periwinkle purple headband holding back her sandy blonde hair as only her bangs crept through it. Even her earrings were a vibrant mix of pink and purple ombre. She was very much dressed in bright cheerful colors. Much like her personality. “I’m so excited to stay with you!” She says. Gideon nods politely as the two of them set off down the street. “Yeah….Just try not to bother my dad too much. He can get a bit snappy at times. But he means well! Just follow his rules and you’ll be alright” Gideon exclaims. Pacifica had heard rumors about the mystery shack from her parents. And even more interesting stories about Gideons relationship with his father. Her grunkle was running as a sort-of tourist trap area to get money. She wasn’t sure what she was expecting. But when she came upon a large wooden shack, the exterior of which was adorned with a large sign reading… “Mystery Hack?” Pacifica said, with a confused tone. She noticed the “S” in Shack had started falling off, and was laying on its side on the small roof. Gideon noticed too and only sighed before putting his head in his hands. “I’ll let dad know to fix it…that darn sign just can’t stay put….” He mumbles. “Let's get you inside. You’ll be staying in the attic with me! Dad’s busy giving tours so I’ll show you around the general vicinity in the meantime!” Gideon says happily. 

After a brief tour of the inside of the house, Gideon took Pacifica to where the REAL mysteries began, the part of his home which was turned into a tourist trap. The rooms were all filled with strange exhibits. Eyeball jars, and taxidermied animals which were strangely put together. Rabbit heads with deer antlers poorly glued onto them. Some of the exhibits were more believable than others, however the overall vibe of the shack was very intriguing. Pacifica could see why this was such a successful tourist trap. “Wow! This place is really cool!” Pacifica exclaims as she leans down to a jar of eyeballs in a gray-green liquid. She looks into the jar and feels like the eyeballs are almost looking back at her. “These look so real..” she says, entranced by the realism in the jar. She reaches a hand out to touch it before a deep voice says from behind her “That's because they ARE real!” a loud man says. It startles the blonde girl, who jumps a bit before taking some steps towards Gideon. The man laughs, his hat almost falling off as he readjusts the black cowboy hat on his head. “Sorry darlin’ didn’t mean to scare you! It was just a joke! I’m about 20 percent sure those eyeballs are fake!” the man says. Pacifica takes a look at the man before smiling. “Grunkle Bud!” She says, before running and giving him a hug. “Awww hello darlin’ it's great to have ya here with me and Gideon! I’m sure he’s given you the tour so far. Make yourself at home for the meantime!” He says with a smile. “However if you’re gonna be here this summer, ya gotta work like the rest of us!” Bud says. Pacifica looked a bit confused, she had only done volunteer work for her school up till now. So when she was handed some wooden signs, she was a bit puzzled. “I’ve gotta stay here and tidy up the shack. Keep things from gettin’ messy. Yer gonna go hang up these signs in the forest. Hopefully draw up some new customers this way.” Bud explains to her. Pacifica looks down, the signs had different shapes and styles to them. “So you want a twelve year old girl to go wander around the forest and put up these signs? Sounds safe to me!” Pacifica says before humming and walking away. 

Little did she know her adventure in the forest would turn the tides completely on her summer vacation. As she ventured, she took note of all the different trees and animals she passed by. The sunlight was dim here from the large canopies of redwoods in the forest blocking out most of the light; and half the time she felt like she was being watched by something but she paid no mind to it as she nailed up the signs. She had finished hanging most of them up when she came upon a curious set of trees in the forest. Something about them was different than the redwoods she had observed before. Almost looked fake in a way. As she touched it, she felt the tree bark was cold. She raised an eyebrow before knocking on the tree only to get an echo of metal as a response. Curious, she traced her hand along until she felt a groove and pulled, revealing some strange switches and knobs. “What is this…?” she says to herself before curiously flipping some of the switches. She heard the sound of something opening and when she looked over her shoulder, a part of the ground had opened up. She walked over, to the now opened hole in the ground and found something interesting laying there. A book, with a golden hand with six fingers on the cover. With a simple number written on the palm. “Three? Some sort of journal about the number three?” Pacifica said before picking it up and dusting it off. Its red leather casing looked old, and it was covered with cobwebs and dirt that had accumulated over the years. As she opened the book she was shocked to see that most of the pages had been filled with sketches and drawings about strange creatures and anomalies. She sat down on a nearby tree stump and began flipping through the pages, just skimming the book's contents as she came across something underlined and written in big words. “Trust no one… Man, this writer must've been super paranoid about something…” the blonde girl said. 

“What writer?” A young voice said from behind her. Pacifica jumped, her eyes widened before she looked behind her and Gideon was standing there, a pure smile on his face. “Oh! Just…” she looked down at the book and back at Gideon. Is it a good idea to tell him? Gideon doesn’t seem dangerous and he's the only friend I’ve got for the summer right now. Pacifica debated with herself mentally before smiling. “It's just a journal I found. It talks a lot about strange paranormal stuff that happens in Gravity Falls. Did you know about any of this Gideon?” She asks him. The boy saunters over before peering down at the book. “I don’t think I’ve seen anything in this book before…gnomes…zombies…I haven’t seen one” the boy shrugs. “Some wacko could’ve written it to scare kids and left it here or something” Gideon tries to reason. Pacifica hums in understanding but something told her the contents of this book were too organized and detailed to just be made-up. 

Regardless if they were myths or not, she put the book away in her jacket for the meantime. “I’ll look into it later. Maybe someone’s looking for it. Who knows!” She looks at Gideon. The two just shrug at each other before walking back to the shack. It was getting dark out and the two would have to figure out the contents of the book another day.

...So yes!!! I am working on a teensy weensy little rehashing of the Reverse Falls au. I'm sure as we all know, the original is a bit....outdated so to say. What with suspicious art and some questionable decisions here and there.

I'm not saying mine is better! No way no how, I'm absolutely sure there's a bunch of people out there with something better. This is just a little thing I'm working on with a friend of mine ( @danklemckspankle ) and how we would imagine a reverse falls au. Rather than it being low-key swapping personalities, it swaps roles as it should. And I'd like to think the premise is exciting as well! It makes me very very happy to talk about it as it's been plaguing my mind for a week or two. Tbh ever since book of bill came out....

So!! Lemme talk about it a little!!! I hope you're ready for a little mystery wink wink

Ahem. So! Our little story starts in a little shack called "The Shack of Telepathy"!! (So original yeah I know)

Bud Gleeful is the shack owner, living as a single father with his son Gideon Gleeful. Bud makes money by being a tourist trap, grabbing people in under the premise of reading their minds! (Gravity falls people are just easy to read but shhh don't tell Toby)

Gideon is a little 9 year old with a heart of gold and full of promise. It's a new summer in Gravity Falls and he has big plans! He wants to have the best adventure he can, and hopefully get a new badge on his vest!!

Yes, this little guy wants to be a boy scout!! Unfortunately, there is no chapter in Gravity Falls, so he's gonna have to make one himself!

With his dad's pin machine, he makes badges whenever he does something good or a big accomplishment! (His pride and joy badge is the one he made with his dad on Father's Day :] )

He really wants to have a good summer. He hopes, by golly, he hopes.

Now a neighborhood down, is town darling Pacifica Northwest. Her family isn't as rich in this as canon, so her family sits as upper middle class at most. Modern suburbia yk? Her family wants to set an example for the people of Gravity Falls, taming the weirdness out or whatever they say.

Pacifica just wants a summer where she can have a little relief. Away from the eye of her parents and the public. Just one day where she can be herself!

So she goes walking in town while her parents are busy planning their big weekly barbeque or whatever. She comes across this kid named Gideon. He compliments her sense of style and makes an offhanded comment about making a badge or something.

Now Pacifica, despite however much her parents influence her, starts her own trends and styles. (With the permission of her parents) So when this kid compliments her she goes on a (grateful) rant and they hit it off!

Gideon tells her about his dad's shack, and all the business business business Bud does. Pacifica talks about her parents planning events every week and, begrudgingly, church. They scurry off into the woods to just explore, and be kids!

On their way as Gideon is messing around with nature, they come across this metal tree. Weird, huh. They do some digging around and press buttons, when a crater opens in the ground!! Pacifica goes to check it out, pushing Gideon back in case of danger.

What they see is a journal! Very dusty and cobwebbed, but a journal with the number 3 painted on it. They pick it up and peruse through it. Pacifica is skeptical at first, wondering if it's part of any tourist trap Gideon's dad planned. When Gid says no, they realize the journal mayyyy have some merit. With how weird Gravity Falls is all the time and the little things that happen here and there, the author of this journal could be telling the truth.

So when they go back to the shack, the talk about the journal and what it could mean.

Now I haven't planned too far ahead to make a full writing of each episode, barely even the pilot, but! This is the gist of it in my head.

As you know, yes I mentioned Ford was evil! And I'm keeping a little of the previous reverse falls lore for this (surrounding the pines. Other things will be different!)

New idea

So, I was watching Spirited Away the other day then the cogs in my head started turning then I came up with this. Platonic Yandere Todoroki family but in the setting as Spirited Away.

Spirit! Enji and Rei run this bathhouse for spirits and they’re pretty loaded, their kids usually run errands or help run the bathhouse. Ya know, the usual stuff.

Enji is doing his atonement shit and is pretty sad that he fucked his relationship with his children over. (And rightfully so, he was being an ass)

Then you come along, with your neglectful parents. They think that the place they stumbled upon was an abandoned amusement park or something like that, you wanna go home but they don’t listen.

Like in the movie, they gobble up the food while you explore the place. Then you come across the bridge and shit.

However, unlike in the movie, where Haku is slightly hostile towards Chihiro, you come across someone who is rather friendly.

A white haired lady with red strips in her hair, she greets you and is rather friendly and polite. She’s rather friendly and offers you some candy. (Something that prevents you from turning see through.) She then tells you that you should probably skiddaddle.

You immediately run to find your family, only to find that they’ve been turned to pigs. (Thanks Dabi, you asshole.) You are of course, rather terrified and horrified about this and run away into a bush.

To add to the horror and confusion of your situation, you find out that this is a bathhouse for spirits and that you are basically trapped. Luckily for you, a nice boy comes up to you and helps you out. AKA our lord and savior, Shoto. Out of all his family, he’s most helpful and kind. (Aside from Fuyumi, we love our girl.) He helps guide you through the bathhouse while keeping you safe from potentially dangerous spirits. So far, the family is quite taken by you.

I.E pitying you for your shitty life. (Mostly your parents abandoning you and being selfish pigs.) Shoto then dips once you reach your destination and you give your plight to Enji and Rei.

You’re pretty much a mess at that point, begging them to reverse the spell that was placed on your parents and even offering up some pocket change to them.

Rei is obviously heartbroken with your pleas and the motherly part of her is telling her to comfort you.

Before Enji could say anything, Rei is like: “Sure sweetie, you can be my assistant and we can discuss how to free your parents 🥰” Which catches you off guard, as does Enji.

Essentially, Rei sees you as another chance to mother someone. And Enji agrees, MF also needs some parenting classes.

You being Rei’s assistant basically means letting her dote on you and helping her with minor stuff. You grow rather accustomed to it and are rather happy than before. As your parents often neglected you and only really yelled at you and shit.

Rei never even raises her voice! While you’re vibing with the Todofam, you’re unaware that your parents have been already killed for meat. Besides, you’re right at home with your real family.

There’s honestly so much I wanna explore with this AU, mostly introducing the others.

I really love how well you’ve written one and two, like they’re different from Leo and Donnie because of how they grew up but it’s still incredibly in character, like they are how rise!donnie and Leo would be if they’d grown up like that.

I’ve been wondering if things were reversed and it was the twins that got saved by yoshi and it was Raph and Mikey raised by Draxum (let’s call them three and four because while I know they’d probably be one or two that’s too confusing lol) how do you think you’d write them? Or design them? (If you’re ever interested in drawing/thinking about it for that much lol no pressure)

Like where would three and four be similar to how you’ve written one and two? And how would they be completely different based on the canon personalities?

No pressure to respond I’m just incredibly interested in your thoughts and I like thinking about what ifs at 3am when I can’t sleep lol

Ooh, that's a really good question. I've never thought about it before but I'd really love to work through this scenario.

If Draxum raised Raph and Mikey, I think his principles would be pretty similar. He would want to raise Raph and Mikey as soldiers, not as his own children.. but, to be honest.. I think Mikey would soften him up a little bit. Draxum probably wouldn't be as strict with Raph and Mikey as he was with Leo and Donnie. In this case, Draxum raises Raph and Mikey practically the same way, but he's a lot more lenient and patient.

Draxum would've guided Raph towards the leader role, but I think he would've trained them somewhat equally, unlike with One and Two.

I can see Raph being this outwardly calm and collected leader, who internally has absolutely no idea what he's doing and has a dash of rage issues when provoked. Unlike EMD Raph, he'd probably be less protective of Mikey just because he knows that he's capable of protecting himself.

As for the sweet little orange angel, I can imagine Mikey being a little unhinged and chaotic who can only be tamed by Raph. He's got a very unique and unpredictable fighting style and is probably a lot more reckless. He's an adrenaline junkie and lives off of danger. He's not afraid of anything, except losing the people that he loves.

I'm not quite sure about their designs, but maybe I'll take some time to think about it and experiment with it. I'm loving this spin-off au already lol.

I know this is mainly ab Raph and Mikey but I'm gonna talk about Leo and Donnie too.

I think Leo and Donnie would've learned how to take care of/look out for each other if they were raised by Splinter. Not that One and Two don't, it's just in a very different way. Without them being categorized into ranks and because there's no pressure from Draxum, Leo and Donnie can learn how to love each other without feeling inferior or like anything is expected of them. There's nothing keeping them from having a good relationship with each other. There probably wouldn't be an "older" twin, they'd treat each other as equals. It'd be so cool actually if they were both vigilantes and fought crime side-by-side. They are both leaders and just an amazing and iconic duo. When they find out about Raph and Mikey, it would go a lot differently. For the most part, I can see both Leo and Donnie/Raph and Mikey wanting to be one family, but I think there would be more hesitance with Raph and Donnie. Donnie, because hey these guys work for BARON DRAXUM of all people and Raph, because hey we should probably listen to Dad. But mainly what's stopping them from merging their families is Draxum and Splinter. Draxum wants all 4 turtles for himself, so that he can destroy the humans and Splinter wants all 4 of his sons and he won't let Draxum take them away again.

I think it'd be pretty funny if this au was basically just one huge parent trap and/or the four brothers trying to keep Draxum and Splinter from finding out the other set of brothers exist because then a war would break out between them.

That's all the ideas I have for now, not sure if I'll flesh it out more but this was really fun to think about. I'm kinda loving this idea and it could be a really fun au of the au lol

Reverse Robins Tim Drake

I have a lot of Reverse Robin Aus so I thought it would be fun to compare the different versions of Characters in each starting with Tim

Falling in Reverse

My first ever Reverse Robins deals with Tim's many self-worth issues. In this version Tim dies due to his fear of failure.

Tim was a neglected child who felt he had to earn everything including his place as Robin. After his parents died he moved into Wayne manner. Damian wasn't much help making Tim feel like he belonged.

Things got better between them but Tim's never got over that feeling of not belonging. He never spoke out on this just worked hard to prove himself. Believing Robin was the only reason he wasn't tossed aside. So when he was benched, due to him "Not being fit to be on the field", he took that badly and went out to prove himself. Overworked and paranoid he walked into a trap that ended his too-short life.

Tim then takes a dip in the pit and wakes up cold and reserved. Ras is amazed believing that the pit had no effect on him, that was indeed far from true. The pit gave Tim a different kind of rage, a quiet rage, something Ras would come to realize was far scarier.

For a while, Tim stays with the league learning and waiting. During this time Ras tries to brainwash Tim and he plays along. But the truth is Ras never had Tim under his control. When Tim is ready to leave he sets off his plan basically destroying the league. He then confronts Ras and kills him. This is Tim's first kill and while Ras doesn't stay dead (Thanks to the pit) He becomes fearful of Tim.

Tim is able to control the pit (for the most part) making it safer for those around but deadly for those he deems as a threat.

He goes back to Gotham and despite Ras's best efforts Tim doesn't hate the bats and even feels relieved Bruce took another Robin. After all, Tim wasn't really suppose to be Robin.

Tim blames himself for his death and thinks he has brought great shame to Batman and Robin. Tim sees himself as a failure that does not deserve to rejoin the bats, this is reinforced by the pit. So he works to protect the bats doing the dirty work to keep their hands clean.

Some people deserve to die and that's where he comes in. Because Batman doesn't kill and Damian should never be put in that spot again, not after how far he has come. Tim sees himself as a necessary evil.

He actually has a great relationship with his replacement even if he didn't mean to. He works hard to make sure the kid is safe. Jason is a great kid and will never go through what Tim did. He and Damian have a complicated relationship but both still care for each other.

He gets along with Cass pretty well even if they disagree on killing. He thinks Steph is the funniest thing ever and loves to watch her annoy Damian.

Tim leads the outlaws which is him, Roy, and Rose. Tim doesn't need friends he needs to focus on his work. Roy refuses to let that happen and somehow sneaks his way into being friends without Tim realizing it.

Rose flirts with Tim at first because it always flustered him but slowly they grow to like each other.

Tim is touch starved and he is the only one that doesn't see that as a problem. He also is a workaholic so Rose and Roy have to keep an eye on him and make him take breaks.

Tim has a deep love of photography even as Red Hood. It is a way to connect him to his past and Robin.

(Spoiler- When he becomes a dad He leaves the role of Red Hood and becomes a new paper photographer)

Something I love about this version: Tim has a deep love of Fnaf that drives everyone crazy

The Watchers

The Watchers is a much more darker take on reverse robins and the main reason is because Tim doesn't die. Watchers switching things up a bit with Tim having a good relationship with his parents. Tim is still a little sneaks out and becomes Robin.

Damian and Tim's relationship is much worse in this version. With Damian being jealous of Tim and his family. After Tim's parents die he moves in with Bruce and Damian becomes angry. (Damian is a lot more resentful due to stuff that happens to him but this is about Tim right now)

One night Damian cuts Tim's line and he crashes into a building. It doesn't paralyze him but it does give him permanent back problems. After that, Tim stayed on for another year as Oracle, A whole year of putting up with Damian's harsh insults and mocking unable to do anything. Finally, Tim had enough and quit the hero game altogether.

He leaves Gotham only to be brought back a few years later by an unexpected visitor. Batman has stepped down and Gotham is full of crime and the Court of Owls is at the center of it all. There is going to be a purge on Gotham Tim hates this city but it was his home. He and this guy name Jason team up to take back Gotham.

As soon as he moved back Tim started having nightmares. He doesn't get much sleep and his back is not going to let him go into the field so He becomes SkyWatcher. The court finds out about him and sends a talon after him. Turns out it's a child (Dick Grayson). He decides he's going to bring him home and raise him. It takes a while to earn the child's trust.

Tim comes across Rose and the two end up having a relationship sort of like Batman and Cat Women.

Tim has a deep resentment for photography because it reminds him of Batman and Robin. He also hates Damian and this gets worse when Damian takes Stephanie under his wing and makes her Robin.

Something I love about this version: Tim trying to raise a kid that is constantly trying to stab him

Falling Slowly

Falling Slowly is not exactly a Reverse robins set up as Tim is actually the oldest. While Watchers is the darkest version I think this is the saddest.

Tim's parents weren't around much so he would sneak out at night to take pictures of Batman. Batman gets injured one night and Tim is forced to reveal himself to help Bruce.

After Alfred patches Bruce up he imminently takes Tim home telling him to not sneak out anymore. Of course, Tim doesn't listen because someone needs to be there to help Batman when he's in trouble.

Eventually, Bruce gave up and started training him, not to fight but to protect himself. Tim started helping Bruce with cases and spent a lot of time at the cave. He was given the code name backup but he's not allowed to join in the fighting.

Everything was great until Tim's parents got killed during a robbery. Bruce took him in and tried to help him. Feeling guilty about his death Tim tried to go out and avenge his parents but Bruce stopped him. He made Tim his sidekick hoping it would help Tim the same way Batman helped him. And it did Tim became less restless and more focused.

Tim becomes Cardinal but because of how tiny he is the media started calling him Robin. Tim hated this and is sick of correcting people. While Cardinal Tim and another sidekick he was friends with got attacked. Tim only got minor injuries but the friend was nearly killed and lost the ability to walk. Tim blamed himself and started to spiral lucky someone was there to pull him out.

 After Tim graduated he moved out to go to college. He came home for the weekend to find that he had a little brother.

Tim is beyond thrilled, he always wanted a little brother. Jason was a little standoffish at first but eventually warms up to him. Tim spends his weekends training Jason and eventually passing down the mantle of Robin to Jason once he's ready.

 Tim couldn't help but blame himself because he gave Jason the suit. Tim dropped out of school and moved back to Gotham to keep an eye on Bruce. He gets a job at W.E. and becomes Redwing. Tim is in a spiral and no one seems to be able to pull him out until Selena goes a talks to her. She manages to convince to get therapy.

The therapy ends up helping. Tim still has a long way to go but there's definitely an improvement.

The therapist advises him on getting a therapy dog. Tim's skeptical after all his mother had taught him dogs were fealty creatures that would chew him up.

However, while working on a case he finds Ace a poor German shepherd that has been mistreated and hurt. The dog tries to tear him to pieces so He brings it home. Slowly he earns Ace's trust after taming him some work he takes to a class to get him trained. Ace doesn't care for other humans or dogs but he has gotten to the point where he chooses to ignore rather than attack.

Ace completely trusts Tim and Tim completely trusts Him.

One day while walking in the cave he was attacked by a child assassin aka Bruce's son Damian. Damian doesn't like Tim at first but Tim keeps an eye on him because the kid is his little brother. 

 One day Damian walked up to Tim and Bruce and demanded the Robin mantel. Tim puts his foot down before Bruce could say anything reminding him of what happened to Jason.

One night Damian steals the Robin suit and sneaks out. He runs into Red Hood and somehow the villain knows his every move. Luckily Tim comes to the recuse, unlucky Tim isn't prepared to deal with the fallout.

Something I love about this version: Tim loves to skateboard and even teaches Ace how too

Dying Birds Au

While my first Reverse Robins has Tim having a bad life and then dying this newest one has Tim being happy then dying. Okay, Tim's parents are still neglectful and he still gets a rough start as Robin (or whatever name I use) but the rest is pretty happy.

It all starts when Damian gets shot. He's not killed but he's is paralyzed from the waist down. Damian had been Robin Tim's hero and Batman's sidekick. After getting shot he left Gotham leading to a much darker Bruce. Batman needs Robin, Tim didn't sign up for this but here he is.

Bruce is better but he and Damian still aren't talking. Tim decides to put a stop to that. Damian and Tim get off to a rocky start with Damian finding Tim annoying and also having an underlying resentment for the kid Tim doesn't care.

Slowly the little brat grows on him and Damian does come back to Gotham. The two become pretty close. Damian convinces Tim's Parents to let Bruce adopt him and Tim moves in.

Tim is a people pleaser so Damian makes sure no one takes advantage of him. And Tim makes sure Damian doesn't bet himself up over mistakes.

Tim effectively becomes friends with a villain's daughter and takes her under his wing. Stephine trains under Tim to become the next Robin

Tim plans to leave the mental to start his own team but is too nervous to tell anyone but Damian and Stephanie.

Tim gets hurt bad on a patrol trying to help someone. Damians on the headset the entire time talking to him as Tim lies bleeding out.

Tim's death spits the family apart and causes Steph to leave.

Tim comes back via Lazarus pit plays Ra's, destroys the Lazarus pit, leaves the league in shabbles then starts up his own team with Roy and Rose.

He can't control the pit messes with his head making him cold and dangerous so he stays away from the bats to protect them.

Cass is sent to kill Tim instead he takes her and trains her she in return becomes his unrequest bodyguard. He tries to give her as normal a life as he can.

One big difference between this and Falling in Reverse is that in FR Tim had his own run-down apartment. Whereas here all of the outlaws live together in an abandoned building.

Something I love about this version: Tim and Cass's sibling dynamic I just find this adorable

I might potentially start writing again if I can fit my ideas into words, but it'd just be one shots and other short shit. My main ideas are one-off Gravity Falls AU, which is embarrassing, if I'm gonna be honest. I have a few, though, and I'd love to hear opinions for if I should make some of them public (I've been attempting to write on Docs lately because AO3 scares me and Wattpad's story creator has been geeking out for literal months)

Option 1 was originally inspired by The Parent Trap, but then I decided on a way better idea (spoilers: it still includes divorce) that is somewhat in the same universe as a concept @oldhabitsdiescrming introduced me to like a month ago, so credit to Tatum (or, as I have dubbed them, Baetum) for the idea. The idea from Tatum also is a huge inspiration for Option 7, I'm not gonna lie.

Lily’s feet drag like lead blocks as she slowly makes her way up the front walk with Harry squirming in her arms. There is no way he recognizes this place—hell, she barely recognizes it without all the concealment charms she’d grown so used to—but then, magic has taught her that the most unbelievable things are actually possible.

She’d previously thought it would be impossible for her to leave James, but here they are, swapping Harry back and forth on alternate weeks like a car they’d bought to share.

The front door swings open before she even reaches the steps, and James looks right past her as if she isn’t standing there, his hazel eyes only for their son. Harry squeals at the sight of him, reaching for James, and Lily hands him over obligingly.

“How’s my boy?” James coos at Harry, dancing his fingers across the toddler’s ticklish ribs and making him laugh. It’s the best sound in the world, but it elicits barely a smile from Lily. It isn’t right, her little family split in two like this. But it isn’t up to her anymore. James said he needed time, needed space, and she had no choice but to give it to him.

“I’ll pick him up next weekend,” Lily says as she steps backwards, already wanting to put distance between them. She can’t stand the cordial indifference she gets from James. When he’s not flat-out ignoring her like he is now, anyway. “Same time work for you?”

The joy slips from James’s face as he forces his attention to her. “Sure. Same time.” He shoots her a tight-lipped smile as she turns to go, but then he speaks again, halting her. “Hey, thanks for bringing him. Here, I mean. It’s safe, I promise. And Sirius is here…you know, just in case.”

Lily nods. The war ended almost two months ago, and James had only just moved back into the cottage in Godric’s Hollow, now that it’s been thoroughly checked and rechecked, and new security spells put in place by what’s left of the Order. Up until now, she’s been shuttling Harry back and forth to James’s childhood home, where he’d been staying in the interim. “I know,” she replies. “I trust you.”

James gives her a quick nod in return and backs toward the front door. “Okay. Well…have a good week, then.”

“Yeah. You too.”

Lily hurries her steps as she makes her way back to the street and into an alley she can Apparate from. Her parents are down in Surrey visiting Petunia, so she has her own childhood home all to herself for the weekend. She’d be lying if she said it isn’t a lonely feeling, but it’s also preferable to her mum’s nagging about when she and James will work things out.

The truth is, she has no idea. James has yet to forgive her for what happened on Halloween, even though he claimed to understand. They both knew about the prophecy, of course, that put Harry in danger and sent them into hiding in the first place. So when Sirius’s Patronus had burst into the house while James was in town at the market, what was she supposed to have done?

Lily’s heart races even now as she thinks about it. She still feels the rush of adrenaline at the sight of the scruffy silver dog, can still hear it speak in Sirius’s desperate voice: “You-Know-Who got to Wormtail. He’s coming. Get out.”

She had waited a few minutes for James, but not knowing how much time she had, she’d been forced to leave him a scribbled note on the front table and pray that he saw it before taking Harry and getting the hell out of there. And worse than that, she couldn’t say where they were going, lest the note fall into the wrong hands. She had just left, and told James to do the same. He would have done the same thing if the roles were reversed: protected their son above all else. She knows it like she knows her own name.

And he had seen the note, of course, and gotten himself to safety, too. They’d had time to set the trap that took down Voldemort, and seen Peter thrown in Azkaban for his transgressions. The war is over. So why hasn’t James forgiven her?

She understands the pain and fear that her disappearance inflicted on James. But he acknowledged, once they were reunited, that their safety, hers and Harry’s, was the most important thing. And she had apologized for putting him through all of that. What was left for her to do to make things right?

The weekend feels infinite in her parents’ big empty house without Harry here to distract her. She’s left the TV on for two straight days just to fill the silence, but she’s not really watching anything.

Lily is drifting off to an afternoon nap to the background noise of yet another sitcom rerun when the phone on the side table rings and she nearly jumps out of her skin. She half hopes it’s her parents calling to tell her that they’re staying a couple of extra days at Petunia’s. Her mum has no distractions either without Harry here, and Lily gets the full brunt of her attention. She reaches for the handset and lets the long spiral cord stretch back to her spot on the couch. “Evans residence.”

“Lils.” James’s voice on the line has her sitting up at attention in an instant. He hasn’t called her anything but an impersonal Lily—not Lils, not Evans, not love or dear or darling—since the incident and the change in routine raises gooseflesh along her arms.

“What is it? What’s wrong? Is Harry okay?” The words come out as fast as her heart is now beating. She insisted on having a telephone in the cottage for the ease of contacting her family, but as far as she knows, James has never used it. She wasn’t even totally sure he knew how. Something must be very wrong for him to call her like this.

“Everything’s fine.” James lets out a strangled chuckle, and Lily isn’t entirely sure if he’s laughing or crying. “What a load of bullshit. Harry is fine. Everything is not fine.”

“James, you’re scaring me.” Lily clutches the phone tighter to her ear. “What is going on?”

He hesitates a long moment before responding. “You’re not here.”

Lily sucks in a quick breath of surprise. She doesn’t want to let herself hope that James has finally come around, but the emotion in his voice is impossible to miss.

“I don’t—” James starts again but cuts himself off with a heavy sigh. “I’m still not really over what happened, but I miss you. This place doesn’t feel like home without you here.”

“When can I come back?”

She hears the smirk in his reply. “How soon can you get here?”

She barely has the phone back in its cradle before her wand is in her hand and she’s Apparating back to the little alley in Godric’s Hollow. As she hurries up the street, she sees James waiting for her at the front gate, and her heart swells. She doesn’t even wait for a greeting to fling herself into his arms, holding him tightly and breathing him in.

James’s arms wrap around her too, and his lips gently press against her cheek as his hand drifts up to stroke her hair. She’s back. They’re okay. She’s home.

Cody, a pro bolo-ball (aka. limmie/ meshgeroya) player is roped into taking his niblings (Omega, Fives, & Echo) to pop sensation Obi-Wan Kenobi’s concert because Rex cancelled on them last minute. The title is based off the WWE meme and Cody’s realization during Obi-Wan’s performance of “Vigilante Shit” that he desperately wants to be That Chair™. It’s very fluffy with a heaping dose of crack, plus it has super fun family dynamics with brotherly teasing and Cody being a fantastic uncle

I’m going to stick to the theme and explain the premise of Parental Pandemonium since it also falls under the category of fun family dynamics

This fic is a “the Mandalorian Civil War never happens” AU, set at around the same time as Korda VI. Jango Fett and Pre Vizsla find out, to their horror, that their parents (Jaster Mereel and Tor Vizsla, respectively) are courting. They decided to reverse-parent trap their dads so they won’t have to be siblings

Ok, you and that anon that threw the Payche and Eros AU at you have me curious. I’m a huge fan of Greek mythology - hyper-fixated on it during MS and HS, ironically not because of the Percy Jackson series - and want to know how you’d work a Hades and Persephone AU with Leosagi? Because I have an idea of if it was a Draxum raised Leo kind of deal (and yes, I’m totally implying Leo as Persephone in that thought), but I wanted to know how you’d work it?

Hades and Persephone is one of my favorite myths.

I’m bring it in two flavored today.

2003 Leosagi

Usagi is Persephone.

He lives in a world where he can walk around and have a normal life. He is a samurai and is well known and well liked.

He meets Leo and the two fall for each other.

But they are from different worlds.

Everyone wants Usagi to forget about Leo. He is a ninja which means he is dangerous and he is from a ‘dark world’ (New York is so dark in that cartoon)

But Usagi so stubborn and goes after him any way. The two eventually start dating but Usagi can’t stay forever, he has duties in his own world.

Cue the six month arrangement.

Rise Leosagi.

Leo is Persephone.

The magic powers, the bright happy city, the loving but over protective family.

Accidentally opens a portal into Usagi’s world.

Stumbles into him. The two fall in love but Leo’s family don’t want him galavanting in another worlds.

Maybe Leo accidentally gets cursed and has to stay in Usagi’s world for 6 months.

Rise leans it self better to the boys having powers

You could also just make the rise boys into full gods with different powers and abilities.

Leo could easily be spring, Mikey summer, Donnie fall, and Raph winter. You could have a lot of fun with this very quickly.

Bonus flavor

2003 reverse

Leo is Persephone.

Over protective parent that shields them all from the world.

The brothers sneak out one day (maybe they live in Usagi’s world already or maybe Donnie built a portal machine “dad said no to the surface not other dimension.”) but they run into Usagi.

They are all extremely wary of him at first but he does a good job at trying to make them feel safe and comfortable.

Splinter eventually comes to fetch his sons and he forbids them from going to Usagi’s world again.

Cue Leo and his brothers sneaking out to see Usagi.

Leo and Usagi fall in love and Usagi starts looking for a way to allow Leo and his family to stay in his world. (Maybe their is no battle nexus and he has no way to follow them to their world) and he comes across the pomegranate.

He tells Leo his idea and of course Leo wants to stay but he would never let his brother try a potentially dangerous plan without him doing it first.

This is how Leo eats the pomegranate seeds and now has to remain in Usagi’s world for six months.

The brothers are a little peeved as they don’t like the idea of Leo being trapped but they always follow him there any way.

I have a lot of different ideas for this. But mainly it depends on the version and how heavily you want to actually base it on the myth. New York being hades is so funny to me.
