NATIVE KOREAN NUMBERS.
2024년 8월 16일
안녕하세요 여러분!
Today, we will learn native korean numbers and when do we use them.
Those numbers go from 1 up to 100, it won’t go further. So it’s really easy to learn them, you just have to work a few times with them to get used to them. The way to form these numbers is the same as with sino-korean numbers, but, even more easy.
1 = 하나 (한)
2 = 둘 (두)
3 = 셋 (세)
4 = 넷 (네)
5 = 다섯
6 = 여섯
7 = 일굽
8 = 여덟 (you pronounce this like 여덜)
9 = 아홉
10 = 열
20 = 스물 (스무)
30 = 서른
40 = 마흔
50 = 쉰
60 = 예순
70 = 일흔
80 = 여든
90 = 아흔
100 = 백
Those are the numbers you have to learn. So now, how do we will say 58? 94? 35? 19? It’s easy!
58 = 50 + 8 = 쉰 + 여덟 = 쉰여덟.
94 = 90 + 4 = 아흔 + 넷 = 아흔넷.
35 = 30 + 5 = 서른 + 다섯 = 서른다섯.
19 = 10 + 9 = 열 + 아홉 = 열아홉.
We use these numbers to count (followed by lexical counters) and to say the hours (only the hours! remember that for minutes and seconds we use sino-korean numbers!).
I don’t have all the lexical counters, but i’ll share the ones i have:
명 is used to count people.
Imagine you go to a restaurant, and they ask you how many you are? You will say “2 people/8 people”, so instead of saying “2 사람” we will say 2명. And how do you say that 2? No, it’s not 둘, you have to used the numbers between parenthesis: 두명. In case the number doesn’t have a number between parenthesis, used it as normal.
마리 is used to count animals.
As before, if you want to say you have 45 cows, you will say “cows 45마리”, this will be: 소 (cow) 마흔다섯마리.
As you can see, the extructure is: Sustantive (cow) + number (45) + lexical counter (마리).
개 is used to count objects (any type).
If you already know how to do it with lexical counter for animals, this is the same. Imagine if you want to say you have 6 clocks. So we will say it this way: 6 + clocks (시계) + 개 = 여섯 시계개.
IMPORTANT: Imagine you want to say that you have 600 cows, how do you say it? Remember that i told you native korean numbers only works from 1 to 100? Then, we will used sino-korean numbers to say 600. Every number that goes up to 100, will go with sino-korean numbers.
HOW TO SAY THE HOURS IN KOREAN.
Let’s focus on saying the hours. Korean only used 1 to 12 to say the hours, which means, we can’t say it’s 20:45 pm, we have to say it’s 8:45 pm to be able to say it.
Remember the numbers between parenthesis? Okay, so we will used them here to.
We also have a lexical counter here, and it’s 시.
Hours = native korean numbres.
Minutes + Seconds = sino korean numbers.
Let’s do some examples:
What time is it? = 몇 시예요?
It’s 8:00 = 여덟시예요.
It’s 4:56 = 네시 오십육분이에요.
Koreans don’t say the seconds (neither do we), so no one will tell you seconds if you ask for the time. Next time, i’ll teach you how to say “am/pm” in korean, so you can say it’s 4:56 am or 8:00 pm.
If you have any questions, please, let me know!

NÚMEROS NATIVO COREANOS.
1 = 하나 (한)
2 = 둘 (두)
3 = 셋 (세)
4 = 넷 (네)
5 = 다섯
6 = 여섯
7 = 일굽
8 = 여덟 (lo pronuncias como 여덜)
9 = 아홉
10 = 열
20 = 스물 (스무)
30 = 서른
40 = 마흔
50 = 쉰
60 = 예순
70 = 일흔
80 = 여든
90 = 아흔
100 = 백
58 = 50 + 8 = 쉰 + 여덟 = 쉰여덟.
94 = 90 + 4 = 아흔 + 넷 = 아흔넷.
35 = 30 + 5 = 서른 + 다섯 = 서른다섯.
19 = 10 + 9 = 열 + 아홉 = 열아홉.
Imagina que quieres decir que tienes 6 relojes, pues sería: 6 + clocks (시계) + 개 = 여섯 시계개.
Para decir la hora, usamos los números nativo coreanos.
Para decir los minutos y segundos, se usan los números sino coreanos.
Hagamos unos ejemplos:
¿Qué hora es? = 몇 시예요?
Son las 8:00 = 여덟시예요.
Son las 4:56 = 네시 오십육분이에요.
Los coreanos no dicen los segundos (nosotros tampoco). En el próximo post os enseñaré a cómo decir "mañana/tarde/noche), así podremos diferenciar entre las 8 de la mañana u 8 de la tarde.
Si tienes alguna pregunta, ¡abre chat o envía ask!

Language Apps Suck, Now What?: A Guide to Actually Becoming "Fluent"
The much requested sequel to my DL post that was promised almost a year ago.
I'm going to address all of the techniques that have helped me in my language learning journeys. Since 95% of these came from the fact that in a past language learning mistake, they are titled as my mistakes (and how I would/did things differently going forward). For those that read to the bottom there is a "best universal resources" list.
Disclaimers:
"Fluency" is hard to define and everyone has their own goals. So for the purpose of this post, "fluency" will be defined as "your personal mastery target of the language".
If you just want to pick up a bit of a language to not sound like a total foreigner on vacation or just exchange a few words in a friend's native language, feel free to ignore what doesn't apply, but maybe something here could help make it a little easier.
This is based on my own personal experience and (some) research.
Mistake 1: Asymmetrical Studying
Assuming you don't just want to do a single activity in a language, or are learning a language like ASL, a language requires 4 parts to be studied: Speaking, Listening, Writing, Reading. While these have overlap, you can't learn speaking from reading, or even learn speaking from just listening. One of my first Chinese teachers told me how he would listen to the textbook dialogues while he was biking to classes and it helped him. I took this information, thought "Yeah that's an idea, but sounds boring" and now regret not taking his advice nearly every day.
I think a lot of us find methods we enjoy to study (mine was reading) and assume that if we just do that method more ™ it will eventually help us in other areas (sometimes it does, but that's only sometimes). Find a method that works for you for each area of study, even better find more than one method since we use these skills in a variety of manners! I can understand a TV program pretty well since I have a lot of context clues and body language to fill in any gaps of understanding, but taking a phone call is much harder—the audio is rougher, there's no body language to read, and since most Chinese programs have hard coded subtitles, no subtitles to fall back on either. If I were to compare the number of hours I spent reading in Chinese to (actively) training my listening? Probably a ratio of 100 to 1. When I started to learn Korean, the first thing I did was find a variety of listening resources for my level.
Fix: Find a variety of study methods that challenge all aspects of the language in different ways.
A variety of methods will help you develop a more well-rounded level of mastery, and probably help you keep from getting bored. Which is important because...
Mistake 2: Inconsistent Studying
If there is one positive to a language app, it is the pressure it puts on keeping a streak. Making studying a part of your everyday routine is the best thing you can do. I benefited a lot from taking a college language course since I had a dedicated time to study and practice Chinese 5 days out of the week (and homework usually filled the other two). Memorization is a huge part of language learning, and stopping and starting is terrible for memorization. When I was in elementary school, we had Spanish maybe a couple times a month. Looking back, it seems like it was the first class to be cut if we needed to catch up on a more important course. Needless to say, I can't even speak Spanish at an elementary level.
However, I'm sure many people reading this don't have the time to do ultra-immersion 4-hour study sessions every day either. Find what days during the week you have time to focus on learning new vocab and grammar, and use the rest of the week to review. This can be done on your commute to school/work, while you do the dishes, or as a part of your morning/evening routine. Making this as realistic as possible will help you actually succeed in making this a habit. (Check this out for how to set realistic study goals)
Fix: Study regularly (ideally daily) by setting realistic goals. Avoid "binge" studying since remembering requires consistent repetition to be most effective.
Mistake 3: Resource Choice
This is really composed of two mistakes, but I have a good example that will cover them both.
First, finding resources that are at or slightly above your level is the most important thing. Easy resources will not challenge you enough and difficult resources will overwhelm you. The ideal is n+1, with n as what you know plus 1 new thing.
Second, getting distracted by fancy, new technology. Newer isn't always better, and there are often advantages that are lost when we've made technological developments. I often found myself wanting to try out new browser extensions or organizational methods and honestly I would've benefitted from just using that time to study. (Also, you're probably reading this because of my DL post so I don't think it has to be said that AI resources suck.)
A good example of this was my time using Clozemaster. I had actually recommended it when I first started using it since I thought the foundation was really solid. However, after long term use, I found that it just wasn't a good fit. The sentences were often too simple or too long and strange for memorization at higher levels or were too difficult at lower levels. I think that taking my textbook's example sentences from dialogues into something like Anki would've been a far better use of my time (and money) as they were already designed to be at that n+1 level.
Fix: "Vet" your resources—make sure they will actually help you. If something is working for you, then keep using it! You don't always have to upgrade to the newest tool/method.
Mistake 3.5: Classrooms and Textbooks
A .5 since it's not my mistake, but an addendum of caution. I think there is a significant part of the language learning community that views textbooks and classroom learning as the worst possible resource. They are "boring", "outdated", and "ineffective" (ironically one of the most interesting modern language learning methods, ALG, is only done in a classroom setting). Classrooms and textbooks bring back memories of being surrounded by mostly uninterested classmates, minimal priority, and a focus on grades rather than personal achievement (imagine the difference between a class of middle schoolers who were forced to choose a foreign language vs. adult learners who self-selected!) People have used these exact methods, or even "cruder" methods, to successfully learn a language. It all comes down to what works best for you. I specifically recommend textbooks for learning grammar and the plentiful number of dialogues and written passages that can function great as graded readers and listening resources. (Also the distinction made between "a youtube lesson on a grammatical principle" which is totally cool, and "a passage in a grammar textbook" is more one of tone and audio/written than efficacy).
Classrooms can be really great for speaking practice since they can be a lot less intimidating speaking to someone who is also learning while receiving corrections. Speech can be awkward to train on your own (not impossible if you're good at just talking aloud to yourself!), and classrooms can work nicely for this. Homework and class schedules also have built in accountability!
Fix: Explore resources available to you and try to think holistically about your approach. CI+Traditional Methods is my go to "Learning Cocktail"
Mistake 4: Yes, Immersion, But...
I realized this relatively quickly while learning Chinese, but immersion at a level much higher than your current level will do very little for you. What is sometimes left out of those "Just watch anime to learn Japanese" discussions is that you first need to have a chance at understanding what is being said. Choosing materials that are much higher than your level will not teach you the language. It doesn't matter how many times someone at HSK 1 hears “他是甘露之惠,我无此水可还”, they will not get very far. Actual deduction and learning comes from having enough familiar components to be able to make deductions—something different than guessing. An HSK 1 learner, never having heard the word 老虎 will be able to understand "tiger" if someone says “这是我的老虎” while standing next to a tiger. This is not to say you can never try something more difficult—things should be challenging—but if you can't make heads or tails of what's being said, then it's time to find something a bit easier. If mistake 2 is about the type of method, this is about the level. If you wouldn't give a kindergartener The Great Gatsby to learn how to read, why would you watch Full Metal Alchemist to start learning a language?
Side note: Interesting video here on the Comprehensible Input hypothesis and how it relates to neurodivergence.
Fix: Immerse yourself in appropriate content for your level. It's called comprehensible input for a reason.
Mistake 5: On Translation
I work as a translator, so do you really think I'm going to say translation is all bad? Of course not. It's a separate skill that can be added on to the basic skills, but is really only required if you are A. someone who is an intermediary between two languages (say you have to translate for a spouse or family member) or B. It is your job/hobby. In the context of sitting down and learning, it can be harmful. I think my brain often goes to translation too often because that's how I used to learn. Trying to unlearn that is difficult because, well, what do people even mean when they say "don't translate"? They mean when someone says "thank you", you should not go to your primary language and translate "you're welcome" from that. You should train yourself to go to your target language first when you hear the word for "thank you". A very literally translated "thank you" in Chinese "谢谢你" can come off as cold and sarcastic. I don't tell my friends that, I say "谢啦~". Direct translation can take away the difference in culture, grammar, and politeness in a language. If there is a reason you sound awkward while writing and speaking, it's probably because you're imposing your primary language on your target language.
Fix: Try as hard as you can to not work from your primary language into the target language, but to work from the structures, set phrases, and grammar within the target language that you know first.
Mistake 6: The Secret Language Learners Don't Want You To Know...
...is that there is no one easy method. You are not going to learn French while you sleep, or master Korean by doing this one easy trick. Learning a language requires work and dedication, the people that succeed are those that push through the boredom of repetition and failure. The "I learned X in 1 year/month/week/day!" crowd is hiding large asterisks, be it their actual level, the assistance and free time available to them, "well actually I had already studied this for 4 years", or just straight-up lying. Our own journeys in our native tongue were not easy, they required years and years of constant immersion and instruction. While we are now older and wiser people that can make quick connections, we are also burdened with things like "jobs", "house work", "school work", and the digital black hole that is "social media" that take up our time and energy. Everything above is to help make this journey a little bit easier, quicker, and painless, but it will never be magic.
I find that language learning has a lot in common with the fitness community. People will talk about the workout that changed their life and how no other one will do the same—and it really can be the truth that it changed their life and that they feel it is the ultimate way. The real workout that will change your life is the one you're most consistent with, that you enjoy the most. Language learning is just trying to find the brain exercise that you can be the most consistent with.
Fix: Save your energy looking for shortcuts, and do the work, fail, and come back for more. If someone tells you that you can become fluent in a ridiculously short amount of time, they are selling you a fantasy (and likely a product). You get out what you put in.
For those that made it to the end, here are some of my "universal resources":
Refold Method: I don't agree with their actual method 100%, but they've collected a lot of great resources for learning languages. I've found their Chinese and Korean discords to also be really helpful and provided even more resources than what's given in their starter guides.
Language Reactor: Very useful, and have recently added podcasts as a material! The free version is honestly all you need.
Anki: If I do not mention it, the people with 4+ year streaks with a 5K word deck will not let me forget it. It can be used on desktop or on your phone as an app. If you need a replacement for a language learning app, this is one of them. Justin Sung has a lot of great info on how to best utilize Anki (as does Refold). It's not my favorite, but it could be yours!
LingQ: "But I thought you said language apps are bad!" In isolation, yes. Sorry for the clickbait. This one is pretty good, and more interested in immersing you in the language than selling a subscription to allow you to freeze your streak so the number goes up.
Grammar Textbooks: For self-taught learning, these are going to be the best resource since it's focused on the hardest part of the language, and only that. If you're tired of seeing group work activities, look for a textbook that is just on grammar (Modern Mandarin Chinese Grammar is my rec for Chinese, and A Guide to Japanese Grammar by Tae Kim is the most common/enthusiastic rec I've heard for Japanese).
Shadowing: Simply repeat what you hear. Matt vs Japan talks about his setup here for optimized shadowing (which you can probably build for a lot cheaper now), but it can also just be you watching a video and pausing to repeat after each sentence or near simultaneously if you're able.
Youtube: Be it "Short Story for Beginners", "How to use X", "250 Essential Phrases", or a GRWM in your target language, Youtube is the best. Sometimes you have to dig to find what works for you, but I imagine there is something for everyone at every level. (Pro tip: People upload textbook audio dialogues often, you don't even have to buy the textbook to be able to learn from it!)
A Friend: Be it a fellow learner, or someone who has already mastered the language, it is easier when you have someone, not only to speak to, but to remind you why you're doing this. I write far more in Chinese because I have friends I can text in Chinese.
Pen and Paper: Study after study, writing on paper continues to be the best method for memorization. Typing or using a pen and tablet still can't compare to traditional methods.
The Replies (Probably): Lots of people were happy to give alternatives for specific languages in the replies of my DL post. The community here is pretty active, so if this post blows up at least 20% of what the last one did, you might be able to find some great stuff in the replies and reblogs.
I wish you all the best~

txt reactions- when you're foreign
Choi Soobin
He will be so careful around you to not use any harder or native Korean words. Because hwants you to understand him better. He always tries to teach you the places important to know. He puts his number into your phone in emergency section even. He is just so worried to not find you also. He knows you can be so clumsy and he can think you will get lost easily around the street and sometimes He is so worried if he can't see in the crowded places. So he always tries to keep his phone available and full battery.
Choi Yeonjun
This guy will be so protective about you. He knows you are not good at Korean at all so he teached you basics like ordering food and asking for directions. He always speaks English to make you understand his words. He teaches you words with songs and you always hear his singing so it was a blessing for you. He always picks you uo from the places when you are there for first. He is always so gentle with you. He sometimes can be strict about your teachings but he is just trying to make you be familiar to his culture and language. He sometimes told you about his last holidays and you always find them so cute and entertaining. He even think buying you a hanbok but he couldn't find your measures so he gave up.
Choi Beomgyu
He will be protective but also he will make a lot of fun about it. He will use native words and he will speak extra fast to confuse you. Teaching you some f-words and telling they are something good. And you said them to a member. The member will get so mad and they couldn't say something because you seemed so confused and Beomgyu is giggling like crazy so it is so obvious that it is his idea. And he stopped when he saw your face.. big tear drops with the shame on your face when you keave the table. He conforted you and he started teaching Korean everyday with patience. He always be patient about you and motivating you with little gifts like chocolate and chips. Sometimes he makes jokes about your accent but he knows that you are making a good hob to being a place you never been and you are very good at knowing their culture also. He can see that you are trying to make kimchi soup or trying to sing a seollal song even. He is lroud of you. And he always makes you remember the holidays.
Kang Taehyun
He is taking care of you very well. Teaching you the words to use when you are in public and also trying to help you order. You learned some basics. And when you met with strangers, he was helping you to understand them better. You were at the dorm with members. You were trying to cook ttebokki for him but it was so hard for you. You tried and tried not until you heard your boyfriend is giggling at you. You pouted slightly but you guys took care of it together. You made it and ate it with appetite.
And without when he is not around, he is always sure that you are fine and healthy. He will put notes on the fridge about how to talk with older people or being kind over. You were finding it too cute because he was being too nice for you to not struggle in other country with some basics.
Hueningkai
Oh..sweet boy. He always knows how to make you in home. He can sense that you are trying to learn his culture and got familiar with the Korean things and American things at the same time. But he was trying to put effort like you did for him. He searched your culture and he was looking at the foods. He was so shocked with the ingredients sometimes. He rarely think that your culture is so different for him. But he always tried to be so gentle for you. Not react too much with your wrong words to use and always so patient.
He knows how to be in a different country with strangers so he is your rock to keep going on. Helping you with some study and baking you some cookies that you llike. You always appreciate at him for his efforts and you tried to make better for him. He thinks that you are being so cute and he always put some mini toy or things of your house's.

Part 24. The plan to destroy and the heart of the Queen.
Tumblr media
Tuesday. 14.50 PM.
The smell of cigarette smoke filled his nostrils unpleasantly. Doohoon grimaced because he hated cigarettes and the smell of smoke. But he couldn't say anything because his friend sitting across from him had been smoking all his life.
Doohoon took a sip of the expensive whiskey, which tasted good on his tongue, and looked around the room in silence.
It was a VIP room in an institution in Gyeongnidan. It belonged to the leader of the Black Pearl clan, and the man across from him was Oh Sehun, one of the closest to the leader, Kim Junmyeon. It was a clan that was consisisted half of the Chinese triad. The Black Pearl had its own power among the Chinese mafia and they were the main rivals of the Namjoon clan.
The room was furnished with a combination of Korean and Chinese decorative elements that emphasized the belonging of this establishment to the Korean-Chinese clan.
The dark wood walls decorated with gold-framed paintings absorbed most of the light, leaving the room with an atmosphere of mysterious tension. In the corner, the soft lights of a crystal chandelier flickered, and the low coffee table between Doohoon and Sehun was made of dark glass, on which stood an unfinished glass of whiskey. The air was saturated with the scent of expensive tobacco, leather, and alcohol.
Sehun, dressed in an impeccably tailored black suit, sat relaxed with his leg over his shoulder. He slowly took a drag on his cigarette and blew the smoke out to the side, looking at Doohoon intently. His face, though seemingly calm, expressed skepticism.
Doohoon set his glass down on the table, waiting for Sehun to respond to his request that he had made a moment ago.
"Why did you want from with that Jungkook?" - He asks, ignoring Sehun's previous words.
"He's been under my feet for a long time. And he has this stupid habit of taking everything that belongs to me. Besides, I'm proposing a deal, and Junmyeon will benefit from it." - Doohoon replies, trying to persuade his friend.
"You think if we frame Jungkook, as if he going behind Namjoon's back, it will somehow weaken Namjoon?" - Sehun asks, taking another puff of cigarette smoke.
"Exactly. Look, Jungkook is bothering you just as much as he's bothering me. You know how much Namjoon cares about the people around him. You know exactly what an asshole Jungkook is when you've met him in person. Have you forgotten how disrespectful he was to you? Even though you're four years older than him." - Doohoon reminded. "If Jungkook falls out of favor with Namjoon, you and your leader can easily weaken his power and take away some of their market."
Sehun took a glass of whiskey and took a sip without looking away from Dohun. Doohoon saw a spark of interest in his eyes. He knew he could talk him into it. Sehun smiled at the corner of his lips.
"That's a bold offer, my friend." - He said at last. "But you do realize that if it doesn't work, it will be a disaster for both you and me?"
"That's why I came to you and not to anyone else." - Doohoon replied, leaning forward.  "I know you can do it perfectly."
Sehun thought about it, smiling at Doohoon’s praise. He weighed his options. Finally, he leaned over to the table, put out his cigarette, rested his elbows on his knees, and answered.
"Okay, I'll help." - He said. "But remember, if things go wrong, it's nothing personal, I won't defend you."
Doohoon hummed. Of course he had seen this coming. But he was confident that Sehun would do a great job. He'd been dealing with him for a long time.
"No problem." - Doohoon agrees. He also leans closer to the table. "I'm sure it'll work out and we'll all win."
"So what's your plan?" - Sehun asks.
"As I said before, we need to set up the arms purchase in Jungkook’s name. Make it look like he's been working with the Japanese mafia behind Namjoon's back and playing a double game. You have access to resources and people who can create a document that looks real." - Doohoon explained. "Besides, you have no problem getting this information into the right hands. We know how Namjoon reacts to betrayal, or even the hint of it."
Sehun leans back on the couch, thinking about Doohoon’s plan. Yes, he'll have no problem doing what Doohoon suggests. But something could go wrong. The Namjoon clan has been watching the Black Pearl closely. They had a lot of different situations, because of the rights to the market where both clans wanted to have their own power. Everyone knows that Namjung is the main problem for Junmyeon.
Doohoon’s offer is very tempting, and the Jungkook in question is also a pain in the ass. The kid was annoying with his behavior and the influence he had gained in just three years.
"So I have to do this because of the Japanese mafia?" - Sehun clarifies.
"Yes. Actually, I'm thinking of a person who used to belong to the Namjoon clan. Do you know anyone? It would be very plausible if the person Jungkook was dealing with behind Namjoon's back was a member of their clan." - Doohoon said, looking at the man across from him.
"I know." - He replies, after a moment of thought. He recalls a man who left the Namjoon clan almost immediately after Jungkook appeared. "Seems his name was Gyuwon."
"Who is he?" - Doohoon asks, wanting to know if this man is a good fit for the plan he's come up with. Sehun smiles, touching his chin with his fingers as if he's remembering something he's forgotten.
"Gyuwon was one of Namjoon's arms suppliers. At one time, he had quite a lot of influence in the clan, but he lost his credibility because he failed in one important mission. Namjoon threw him out, and Gyuwon decided to seek refuge with the Japan. Now he works for them and hates his former clan. I think he will be happy to play a role in our play, especially if we motivate him properly." - Sehun replies. Doohoon leans forward, listening intently. His eyes flash with excitement.
"That's great. Gyuwon will be a key element in our plan. He can confirm that he made the deal with Jungkook. But can we trust him? Won't he blow the deal because of his own ambitions?" - Doohoon asked. Sehun laughed, raising an eyebrow.
"Don't worry. Gyuwon is not someone who would turn down money or the opportunity to harm Namjoon. If you offer him a good deal, he'll take it. But you have to be careful. Even among the Japanese, he does not have a perfect reputation. His own team may not support him if they find out about our plan. They don't want to get into trouble with Namjoon, that's for sure." - Doohoon paused to consider the new information.
"Then we'll set it up so that Hyuwon looks as convincing as possible. We'll fake the transfer of documents, sign fake contracts, and bring in witnesses. Jungkook won't even realize he's being set up until it's too late." - Doohoon says. Sehun smiles, leaning back. His eyes turn sly.
"If we do it right, Namjoon will think this is proof of treason. He doesn't seem to be able to stand even a shadow of a doubt. And when it comes to Jungkook..." - Sehun says, but Doohoon raises his hand and stops him.
"...it will be the end for him. He'll lose his leader's trust, and who knows, maybe Namjoon won't be so lenient this time like it was with Gyuwon." - Doohoon says. Sehun crosses his arms over his chest, satisfied with the plan. It should work.
"Then I need some time to contact Gyuwon and organize everything. I think we'll be ready in a week." - Sehun says. Doohoon stands up, shaking Sehun's hand.
"Do it. And don't worry - if anything goes wrong, I have backups."
Sehun looks at Doohoon carefully and then nods. His heart is wavering between interest in this intrigue and fear that the whole situation could get out of hand. But now he has no reason to refuse.
"It's a deal, my friend. I'll get back to you very soon." - Sehun says. Doohoon is pleased that he was able to persuade his friend. So the plan to destroy Jungkook is launched.

It was a Friday night. You were at home waiting for Jungkook to pick you up to go to your parents' house. You were sitting on the couch and feeling sick to say the least.
You had your period too early and you couldn't understand why. You looked at your calendar and wondered. There were still two whole weeks before your critical days, but you had red discharge, which seemed as your period. In addition, your breasts were swollen and sensitive. Just like your period.
You were irritable and your mood could change several times a day. Jungkook patiently supported you and tried to respond to your emotions in the right way.
He has been living with you since you reconciled. He offered you to come back, but you refused. The thing is, you had signed a six-month lease and couldn't leave the apartment. Jungkook offered to pay the landlord for the damages, but you blocked his offer again.
You also promised the manager of the convenience store that you would work until the start of the school year. Traveling from the area where Jungkook's apartment was would be inconvenient and long, because your place of work was one street away from your place of residence. Jungkook had no choice but to come to you and spend time with you at your apartment.
From the day you reconciled, your sex life became intense. You had sex every day. Some days it was several times. Jungkook was careful and only once did he lose his temper and came inside you. It happened yesterday when he came late at night and woke you up. You were on birth control, so you didn't worry about it too much. The sex was great and your memories easily filled your mind.

You were about to fall asleep when you heard the front door knock softly. Lately, you've been feeling tired all the time. You didn't know why, maybe because of the change in the weather, which was always overcast, or because of the workload you had from preparing for your thesis and working night shifts. You worked all week and took almost all the night shifts so that you could have a free weekend to go to your parents' house with Jungkook.
You heard Jungkook come into the room, but you didn't have the energy to greet him. You pretended to be asleep. You turned to your right side and listened to the sound of water coming from the bathroom.
After a while, Jungkook came into the room. You felt the mattress bend under the weight of his body. Jungkook moved close to you. He put his arms around your waist, pressing his body tightly against yours. You could smell the shower gel you bought especially for him. This pleasant scent filled your nostrils.
You heard him leaning over to check if you were still asleep. Jungkook pulled back your hair so he could access your neck. You felt his soft, hot lips. His kisses made you stir. You turned your head slightly toward him, opening your eyes.
"What time is it?" - You ask. Jungkook kisses you on the jaw, moving his hands along your hips. He slides his hand under your panties, touching your folds. He pulls them apart to find your clit. You spread your legs to give him better access. You can't stop him from doing what he's doing.
"Zero o'clock." - He whispers into your neck. He kisses your neck, while pushing his index finger into your passage. You become wet and moan softly.
"Why are you so late?" - You ask quietly, but your breathing is becoming labored from his actions. You turn your whole body and Jungkook takes you captive. His naked torso is pressed against you, and his hand is still fucking your passage. You wrap your arms around his neck and he smiles slyly.
"I think you were sleeping." - He says with the same smile on his lips. He ignores your question, but for some reason you don't notice. Maybe his closeness makes you do it. You smile back at him, too.
"As if that possible with you?" - You sneer, feeling the pleasure of his finger fucking you. Jungkook leans down and connects your lips in a kiss. His tongue penetrates your mouth as usual, and it turns you on.
You return, by moving your lips and tongue, deepening the kiss. Jungkook continues to kiss you and pulls off his pajama shorts and underwear. He throws them somewhere off the bed. You gasp against his lips. Jungkook pulls away to hear what you have to say.
"You want to have sex right now?" - You wondered. Jungkook laughed softly. He pulled away from you, laying down next to you, taking off his boxers. You see his ferocity and can't help but feel yourself getting even wetter. Even though you have sex with Jungkook every day, you still can't get enough of it.
That's why you don't mind having it again. Jungkook was at work all day. When you woke up, he was gone. You talked on the phone and texted, but you still missed him. So when he climbs at you you, settling between your legs, you feel a strong desire mixed with an uncontrollable expectation of his length inside you.
"Did you think I was just touching you? My love, I missed you and my favorite pussy." - He replies, leaning down to your face. You smile at him in a relaxed way. You rise up to meet him, not letting him sink low.
He stops when he sees you standing up. You take off your pajama top and throw it on the floor. Now you are both completely naked. You hug Jungkook and kiss him with fervent passion. When you need air, you break the kiss.
"I missed you too. How could you leave me for so long?" - You ask, mimicking your sadness. Jungkook lays you down on the bed, snuggling up on top of you. You throw your legs over his waist, crossing them. You feel his hard cock touching into your pussy. Jungkook kisses you on the lips again, your tongues intertwined. Your body temperature rises and the moisture between your legs becomes more abundant.
Jungkook leaves your lips and goes down to your neck, leaving wet marks on it. He bites your skin, and then runs his tongue over the spot where he bit you. He is still hungry for you.
Your skin, your smell, your warmth, your sounds, your welcoming pussy, it all makes him think about you constantly all the time. He leaves you for a moment and already misses you. His behavior is like being possessed.
This was not the case before your breakup. Mean, yes, he wanted you all the time and thought about you, but now this need is acute for him. Only when he realizes that you're around does he calm down. And then he feel an unbearable desire to fuck you.
To own every inch of your body. That's why you've been having sex every day since the day you made up. Jungkook is crazy about you and the thought of being without you for so long.
Jungkook goes down to your breasts and sees your erect nipples. He squeezes your breast with his fingers. Carefully, he takes one of them into his mouth and caresses it with his wet tongue. Your nipples have become sensitive lately, and he tries to be gentle, even though he wants to bite you. You moan somewhere on top of him.
Having finished the foreplay he loves to do with you, he wants to get inside you as soon as possible. He kneels down and takes his cock in his hands. He rolls it, then presses the head against your clit and moves it around. You sigh, enjoying the sensations. Your clitoris is swollen with excitement and you can feel how wet it is.
Jungkook moves the head of his cock over your clit, smearing your moisture and his own pre-cum that drips from the tip. You don't expect it when he hits your pussy several times with his cock and you just feel ecstatic.
When he caresses your center again, you feel his tip twitch. He drives for so long that you have an increasing orgasm. Perhaps anticipating this, Jungkook lowers himself to your spread legs and licks your clit. He is attracted to your hole, which is dripping with your moisture.
He wants to put his cock inside you as soon as possible, but first he has to satisfy you. He puts his tongue in your passage and fucks you. His fingers don't give your cunt a rest while he's busy with your entrance.
You taste so sweet on his tongue. He's delighted with your taste. But he comes back when he hears you moaning intensely. Those sounds are a pleasant melody to his ears. If he had his way, he would listen to that melody all the time. When Jungkook sucks on your clit again, you come right on his tongue.
You make what sounds like a squeak and a moan at the same time. But you were actually trying to say Jungkook's name. You have a perfect orgasm and can't come to your senses for a long time. Only when you feel Jungkook close to your face.
"My baby happy?" - He asks you. Jungkook whispers right into your lips. You come into yourself open your eyes. Your lips stretch into the most satisfied smile you've ever known.
"I’m not that happy, I'm thrilled!" - You say. Jungkook is glad to hear you say that. All the best for his love.
"Great, then I'll just move on to fucking that juicy cunt." - He says. Without waiting for any response from you, he kisses you with such heat that you literally feel dizzy. Your breasts rise and fall heavily. Jungkook puts his erect cock against your entrance, where his tongue was a moment ago, and goes slowly so as not to cause you discomfort.
His big and thick cock stretches your walls and you envelop it tightly. Jungkook moans at the feel of your tight pussy. You've been having sex for a long time, but every time he enters you it's like the first time. So tight. So nice and euphoric.
You're driving him crazy. Your body is driving him crazy. Your love and your presence is driving him crazy. Now he feels like he has won this life because you are in it.
Jungkook goes inside you to the very end. He presses so close that he can feel your clitoris with his pubic bone. Jungkook moves his legs so that he can lie on top of you. Your spread legs are on either side of his hips. Jungkook lies down, pressing his body against yours. He takes your hands and his, intertwining your fingers and lifting them above your head.
You look at him without looking away. A light, playful smile plays on his lips. You are serious on the contrary, because of the feeling of how he feels inside you. Jungkook makes thrusts with his hips and you finally feel that much-needed friction. You automatically close your eyes, but suddenly you hear Jungkook's voice.
"Open your eyes, baby." - He says. And you do. This has happened before. Jungkook has asked you to open your eyes once before during sex and keep eye contact. He doesn't usually ask this, but today he did it for the second time. You don't know why he wants to see your eyes open.
Jungkook starts fucking you, thrusting deeply into your entrance. You look into his eyes and it makes the sex between you somehow different and more intimate than it already is. You moan at his thrusts.
He goes slowly at first, but over time his movements become different, faster, deeply. You can hear the sound of your bodies hitting each other and your moans filling the room. Jungkook kisses you without stopping fucking you. When he pulls away from your lips, he asks you not to close your eyes again.
"Look at me, my love, when I fuck you. I want to see your eyes." - You can't answer him, because his movements will only allow you to moan as you feel your orgasm building. Jungkook still fuck you speeding his movements but also slows down for a moment. His thrusts become slow but as deep as possible.
You clasp your intertwined palms, digging your nails into his skin. The sensations from these thrusts and from tonight's sex in general are special.
Jungkook slows down and fucks you like this because he wants to stay inside you as long as possible. He gets high on the feel of your velvet, dense walls like a fucking junkie. You're his drug that gives him an eternal high.
"Kook..." - You call out to him. Jungkook looks at you but doesn't answer. "I want to... please..." - You start to beg him, almost rolling your eyes. You can't stop yourself from thrusting. You want him to speed up and finally bring you to orgasm.
"My love need to come?" - Jungkook guessed without speeding up his movements. All he does is slowly fuck you with deep thrusts. His voice was breathless.
"Yes..." - You breathe out. "Let me come."
"Is that what you want, baby?" - He whispers. He bites your lips, pulling at your skin, his thrusts never stopping. His tongue explores the pads of your lips.
"Yes!" - Your voice is not your own. Jungkook is listening to you, and he can already feel himself hardening. He accelerated his movements, his hips began to beat you uncontrollably. Just a little more and you will experience the orgasm you've been waiting for.
"Just lose control, don't hold back, love." - Jungkook tells you. His words intensify all your feelings to the maximum and you don't hold back for long and finally come around his cock.
Jungkook continues to fuck your vagina, moaning as your walls squeeze him. He wants to come out, but he has almost no strength to do so. So he cums inside you. He still keeps moving while his cock jerks inside you and spurts his cum.
Jungkook falls with his head somewhere on your shoulder. You feel his breath on your skin and breathe uncontrollably too. You relax when you manage to get your breath back. You stroke Jungkook's back when he lets go of your hands.
He's sweating a little, but it doesn't matter to you. Jungkook lifts his head and you can see his smile, which is visible thanks to the light from the street that enters the room. He nibbles on your lips, putting tenderness and affection into this soft kiss.
"I wish you could always greet me like this after work." - He jokes. You laugh silently.
"I don't mind, but not when I'm already asleep." - You say.
"Have you been sleeping?" - Jungkook asks, brushing his hair away from your face.
"Of course." - You answer. Jungkook tilts his head slightly to the side, looking at you with a look of sly interest.
"Then you should definitely sleep more often." - He says, his voice a half-tone lower, filled with playful warmth. You just roll your eyes, but a slight smile appears on your lips.
"If you're going to wake me up like this every time, I'm going to have to give your schedule some serious thought." - You retort, feigning severity, but the laughter in your voice gives you away. Jungkook laughs quietly and sinks down next to you, pulling you closer.
"Honestly, I was waiting that you to start fighting with me for coming home too late." - He whispers, running his fingers down your arm.
"I’m did it almost." - You reply, looking directly into his dark eyes. "But... if you’re be like this after work, I will be lenient with your late arrivals from work" - You say. He smiles, leaning closer to you, his forehead touching yours.
"Oh, there are so many things I could do for you." - He whispers.
"Don't make me feel intrigued." - You grumble, snuggling up closer.
"You know I never promise anything I can't keep." - Jungkook says. You lie in the embrace in silence for a while. It feels good and so natural. "How are you feeling? Are you feeling better?" - Jungkook ask, worrying about your unwellness during the week. He slightly moving his head away from you to look at your face. You look up at him and press your lips together.
"To be honest, no. I stayed in bed all day. I couldn't even write. I sketched out a few theses for the project, but then I gave it up. Maybe I was sick?" - You suppose.
"Do you want to go to the doctor tomorrow?" - Jungkook suggests. You silently put your head back on his chest.
"No. We're going to our parents' house tomorrow. I think I'll feel better. It's probably just a case of being tired." - You deny his offer. Jungkook kisses the back of your head and you resting in silence. You stand up, and Jungkook watches you sleepily.
"I'm going to take a shower." - You say, getting out of bed. Jungkook nods at you. He turns on his side and peers at you. You put on shorts and a pajama top. You feel his eyes on you even from behind. You smile at the corners of your lips, although you don't turn around, because you know that Jungkook just can't help but watch you. "Don't fall asleep until I get back." - You joke, throwing a quick glance over your shoulder. Jungkook just mutters something incomprehensible in response, but his smile is visible even in the semi-darkness of the room.
When you step into the bathtub and feel the warm water on your skin, you allow yourself to completely relax for a few minutes. The water seems to wash away all the burden of the day and systematic fatigue.
You step out of the shower, drying yourself with a soft towel, and quietly return to your room. Jungkook is half asleep, but when he hears your footsteps, he opens one eye.
"What, you're not even going to kiss me before I go to sleep?" - He says in a sleepy voice, lifting his head from the pillow. You smile, leaning toward him.
"Good night, my love." - You say softly, touching his forehead with your lips. He grabs your hand, holding it close, and pulls you down, forcing you to lie down next to him again.
"Are you going to run away?" - He grumbles, but his voice is filled with warmth.
"No, I was just going to sleep." - You answer, laying down next to him. Jungkook wraps his arms around you, closing his eyes.
"I can only sleep when you are in my arms and you know it. I saw that you wanted to go to bed separately." - He whispers.
"Stop grumbling and go to sleep." - You protest. Jungkook grumbles something indecipherable into your neck and after a few minutes his breathing becomes steady and calm.
You lie there for a long time, listening to this familiar rhythm, and with every passing minute you feel your heart fill with the warmth that only he can give.

You hear the sound of the combination lock and Jungkook enters the apartment. He finds you on the couch. You smile at him and get up, trying to hide your bad feeling. You pull him into a hug and press your lips to his. Jungkook returns the kiss and you feel his shoulders relax under your hands.
"How are you?" - He asks you immediately. You tilt your head.
"Better now and ready to go." - You answer. Jungkook squints his eyes, as if trying to tell if you're lying or telling the truth.
"Are you sure? Maybe we should go to the doctor. I don't like that you've been sick for so long." - Jungkook is worried. You give him a quick kiss to calm him down.
"No, everything fine. I guess I felt like this because I got my period two weeks early. It's all because of them. That's why my breasts became so sensitive and enlarged." - You explain. Jungkook believes you and hugs you.
"Is it normal that they started so early?" - He asks, squeezing you in his arms.
"It happens sometimes when the cycle is adjusting." - You answer. You hear Jungkook exhaling heavily, somewhere above your head. You pull away from him and look at his face in concern. "What's wrong? Why are you exhaling so hard?" - You ask. Jungkook doesn't say anything, staring at your eyes, and then smiles. He kisses you on the forehead and lets you go.
"It's okay, baby. I'm just tired, too." - He replies. But you feel that he doesn't tell all the truth.
"You're not hiding anything again, are you?" - You ask, looking at his broad back as he reaches down to pick up the bag with your things. When he hears your question, he freezes, just for a second, but it doesn't escape your attention. You tense up slightly. Jungkook picks up the bag and turns to you.
"No. I'm not hiding anything." - He answers confidently. You look into his eyes for a long time to make him speak. But Jungkook doesn't seem to be going to talk anymore.
"Does it connected with your work?" - You ask. Jungkook raises one eyebrow. He moves toward you and stops when you're a few centimeters away.
"What exactly is connected?" - He asks. You restrain yourself from getting too annoyed. You cross your arms over your chest. Jungkook knows exactly what you're asking. He looks at you, and you realize that he's trying to keep himself in check without giving away too much emotion. His gaze is calm, but you can feel the tension between you growing.
"You know what I mean, Jungkook." - You say firmly, tilting your head slightly. "I'm asking if your job is causing you problems again."
He frowns a little, as if he's considering whether to tell the truth. Then he raises his hand, gently touching your cheek.
"Baby, I don't want you to worry about my job. I told you everything is fine. It's nothing serious." - He says, and his voice is warm, but at the same time full of some hidden pain.
"That doesn't answer my question." - You say without looking away. Jungkook exhales heavily, rubbing the back of his head, and takes a step back, as if trying to find the right words.
"You know, I can't tell you about something. Please don't put pressure on me…" - He says after a pause. "I've got a lot of work to do, and I'm just thinking about how to do it right."
"Not “something”, you don't tell me anything." - You throw out, not hiding your displeasure. He looks at you carefully, and then, as if deciding that it's not worth pushing any further, he relaxes his shoulders a little.
"Baby, please, let's not fight. I don't want to find out anything right now. If you want, we can talk about it when we're at my parents' house. I promise I'll share everything you want with you..." - Jungkook promises you, but you interrupt him in mid-sentence.
"Or only that you can tell me. You'll never tell the truth anyway." - You grumble. Your heart clenches. You're well aware that his job always puts him in more danger than he's willing to tell you. Jungkook smiles at you irritably, obviously holding back with the last of his strength.
"No. If you're so prying and curious, I'll tell you everything you want to know. But after we get to my parents' house." - Jungkook gives his word. You drill him with your eyes and feel that he is sincere. But you can't help but think that he's still hiding something from you. And even though it worries you, you decide not to push anymore.
"Okay." - You agree, walking around him. You go to the front door to get dressed. "We need to stop by the supermarket, mom asked me to buy some groceries."
Jungkook walks up to you and gets dressed after you. He senses that you are irritated. He doesn't want your meeting with parents to be tense because of this tiff’s. Jungkook looks at you and sees that you are not looking in his direction. You are definitely angry with him. He has to defuse the situation somehow.
As you put on your sneakers and reach for the zipper to fasten your jacket, you suddenly feel Jungkook's arms around your waist. He is pressing you against the front door with his body. You look at him in surprise, feeling his warmth.
"What are you doing?" - You ask indignantly, trying to get away, but he holds you tight.
"As long as you're angry, we're not going anywhere." - He says, leaning down to your face. His eyes are filled with determination, and you can feel the tension in the air.
"I'm not angry, let go..." - You start, but you don't have time to finish because he crashes his lips into yours, silencing you. His kiss is hot and demanding, as if he's trying to get all the resentment out of you. You try to pull away, but he doesn't back down, holding your neck with one hand and your waist with the other so you can't do it.
"Jungkook, that's enough!" - You protest, pulling your head away when you finally manages to break your lips. Your breath comes in ragged gasps and your cheeks burn.
"No, that's not enough. I won't let you go until you stop sulking." - He replies firmly, lifting your face slightly by the chin. His voice drops to a dangerous whisper. "You know I hate it when you ignore me or pull away."
"I'm not ignoring you, I'm just..." - You try to say something, but he interrupts you.
"If you don't stop being angry now, I'll find a way to calm you down. Do you want me to do that? In bed? Or... right here?" - He casts a quick glance at the front door, and his voice takes on a playful tone.
"Jungkook!" - You look at him with indignation and shock, trying to keep a stern face, but your heart is pounding so loudly that you think he can hear it. He smiles, realizing that you are having a hard time resisting. Then he leans down to your ear and adds.
"I'm not joking, baby. Make up your mind." - He whispers. You sigh heavily, trying to pull yourself together.
"Okay, I'm not mad anymore. But you could have been a little less dramatic." - You grumble, looking away. Jungkook is pleased with your reaction, but he's in no hurry to let you go.
"Are you sure you're not angry? Or I should calm you at all?" - He asks. You see his hand touch the button on your mom jeans. He undoes in it and is ready to reach into your pants, but you grab his hand tightly and stop him from doing so.
"No!" - You shout. "I'm on my period." - You explain. Jungkook raises his eyebrows as if he doesn't fully understand what you're saying. He leans down to your lips, looks between you, and then kisses you.
He puts his strength into it, and you try not to let him touch you. He is stronger than you. His demanding kiss on your lips and his unrestrained tongue in your mouth makes it impossible to concentrate on holding him back.
When Jungkook does reach your clit with his finger, you don't model any more resistance. You respond to his hot kiss and become wet. Jungkook breaks the kiss and smiles defiantly on your lips. You bite your lip to hold back the moans that threaten to come out in a loud sound. Jungkook pinches your clit and you squeal.
"What a cheeky girl. How dare you not let me touch you?" - Jungkook asks with authority. You open your eyes and see his dark gaze staring back at you. Your eyebrows are drawn together as you try to withstand the sweet torture of Jungkook's fingers.
"Because it's my body, and I decide when you can touch it and when you can't." - You answer with a challenge in your voice. He has forgotten how provocative you can be. Jungkook's gaze darkens even more. He increases the friction on your clit, and it even hurts a little, but at the same time you think that you'll come much faster than usual.
"You belong to me. Your whole body belongs to me, so you don't decide when I can touch you and when I can't." - Jungkook almost growls. Your words have caught him alive. You moan loudly as he plunges his fingers into your passage. You're hot and you want nothing more than to orgasm. Your quarrelsome sex is always so hot.
Jungkook suddenly sticks his hand out of your passage and pulls off his jacket. He takes off your jacket as well, and turns you around. He pulls down your pants and leans you toward the door. You rest your hands on the cold metal of the door and wait for Jungkook's cock.
You hear how he undresses in about half a minute. He him pulling off his pants. The sound of his belt and fly being undone indicates that he's about to fuck you right at the front door.
As his hard cock slams into your ass, your wetness stands out more. You're breathing heavily. Jungkook immediately pushes his cock against your passage without wasting time stretching. He goes in abruptly and you scream in pain. You hear him moaning from behind and the sound excites you.
He starts moving intensely and roughly. Obviously, he is not soothing you as he promised earlier, but punishing you for daring to tell him that your body belongs to you and not to him. Of course, you belong to him completely, but it's always so much fun to irritate him and provoke him.
Suddenly you feel a hand on your throat. Jungkook is steadying you and pressing lightly on your throat. His other hand is on your clit and you gasp because he has captured all the points through which you can feel stimulation. He doesn't stop moving his hips, and you're going crazy from all these feelings, all at once.
"Mine. You are all mine." - He tells you with authority somewhere in front of your cheek. "And I can fuck you wherever I want, whenever I want, for as long as I want." - He declares. And you don't mind at all. You don't mind his rights to you, because you are really all his, and he can do whatever he wants with you. "Do you understand me?" - He asks, carefully pressing his hand on your throat. You roll your eyes and exhale something incomprehensible. "Say it clearly." - He orders you. You take a breath.
"Yes, I am completely yours Kook..." - You say, trying to sound firm. Jungkook is pleased with your words. He smiles and you can feel it. He turns your head and captures your lips. The kiss is deep, hot, and dominant. Jungkook lets go of you, returning your body to its previous position and begins to move quickly inside you.
He rubs against your walls trying to bring you to the peak of pleasure. You scream from the overstimulation and don't care that the neighbors can hear you. You're right by the front door, they'll hear you for sure, but neither you nor Jungkook are afraid.
You moan long and hard as your pussy squeezes Jungkook's cock. He comes right after you. It's no surprise that he comes inside you. But you're not worried, you're on your period, there's no way you're going to get pregnant.
Jungkook leans you against the door and you touch your hot cheek to the cold door. He stands behind you with his hands on your hips and breathes into your hair. His breath burns your skin. You need time to come to your senses.
Jungkook comes out of you and you feel his cum dripping down your inner thighs. He turns you around and you look at his face, which expresses absolute satisfaction. He touches your chin with his fingers and smiles out of the corner of his mouth.
"I hope you remember that now, baby. So you don't ever say no to me again. Come on, take a quick shower, we're late for our parents." - He says and kiss your swollen lips from hard kisses. This kiss is gentle to calm your hot. "You're not angry anymore, are you?" - He suddenly asks. You wrap your arms around his neck and smile.
"I'm not angry. I tell you it before. But it's so much fun to provoke you." - You confess. Jungkook laughs gutturally.
"You should be more careful, because the next time you provoke me, you'll be in trouble." - He jokes.
"I can't wait for that." - You say. Jungkook moves away from you. He helps you get dressed and gently pushes you forward.
"Hurry up, we're wasting time!" - He complains softly.
"You should take a shower too." - You say, stopping halfway. "Besides, it's your fault, not mine." - You add finally and disappear behind the bathroom door.
Tumblr media
When Jungkook and you arrived at Jungkook's house, his mother opened the door, smiling as she greeted you two at the door. Her face lit up with joy when she saw Jungkook and she hugged him gently. She was just as happy to see you. You also received your share of friendly hugs. She wasted no time in inviting you inside.
"Y/N girl, how beautiful you have become! I haven't seen you for so long. Suri tells me all about you all the time. She told me you moved to a new neighborhood? I told her that you could live with Jungkook and that you don't have to spend money on rent. Jungkook has his own apartment, and you've been friends since childhood, so you'd definitely get along." - Jungkook's mom says. You smile sweetly. She doesn't even realize that you already done that. And it was hard for you to get along with them at first. You throw a quick glance at Jungkook, who is trying to hide his laughter.
Yonok leads you and Jungkook to the kitchen where you meet Jungkook's dad. He also gives you a warm fatherly hug and tells you how glad he is that you finally made it. Jungkook's mom motions to set the table, but Jungkook stops her.
"Mom, wait, don't set the table." - Yonok stops, completely puzzled by her son's request.
"Why? I've been waiting for you. I've been preparing so much..." - She says, disappointed. Jungkook's father is equally surprised. He supports his wife.
"Yes, son. Your mom spent the day making you dinner!" - He says seriously. Jungkook tries to quickly rectify the situation.
"We just stopped by for a little while. Now we're going to go to omony and aboji Yeon and pick them up. I made a reservation at the Yongdong restaurant. We'll have dinner there together, because we haven't seen each other for a long time." - Jungkook said. His parents were pleasantly surprised by their son's announcement. Jungkook's mom looked a little surprised at first, but soon her face was full of joy. She put her hands in her waistband, looking at Jungkook with a smile.
"But you didn't say you had plans like that!" - She said, laughing. "We could have just stayed home..."
"That's my New Year's present." - Jungkook replied. "So let's just have some tea and we'll go get Y/N's parents."
You spent time at Jungkook's house talking to his parents. Jungkook talked to his father, and you mostly talked to Jungkook's mother. She asked you about everything and you remembered for a moment how your mother had behaved the same way with Jungkook when he came to reconcile after Christmas.
"I can't get enough of you, my girl." - Jungkook's mom says as she touches your hair with her hands, fixing it. Jungkook hears what his mom is saying and looks at you. He thinks he can't help but admire you as much as his mom does, maybe even more. He sees your cheeks blush and laughs mesmerizingly. "You must have a lot of fans at the university." - Yonok suggests.
"Thanks omony. But no. I don't really have many." - You say, shyly. Jungkook rubs his nose with his finger to hide his gaze, which he ready to devour you. He's turned on by your shyness. Fuck, one day he'll be able to look at you without thinking about fucking you every free minute.
"I'll never believe that." - She denies. Jungkook's mom turns to her son and asks him for his opinion. "Jungkook-ah, hasn't Y/N become a beautiful woman that many guys should chase after. She's so gorgeous." - You look at Jungkook and your eyes lock. You see something sly in his eyes and think he's thinking about some dirty things. You know that look as well as anyone, but his parents don't notice. You raise your eyebrows as if scolding him in your mind. Jungkook smiles cheerfully and answers.
"Mom, she doesn't have any fans, because she has a boyfriend." - Jungkook's parents immediately turn their gaze to you and you are caught off guard. You stare in horror at Jungkook, who gives you a devilish smile.
"Is it really sweetheart? You have a boyfriend, right? Who is he?" - Jungkook's mom asks you. You open your mouth to lie, but Jungkook stands up, realizing that you don't seem to be able to do it alone.
"Mom, mom!" - He calls. "Don't push Y/N. She'll tell you everything later. We have to go now, we have to go to the omony and aboji Yeon. Get ready you two, at 6:30 pm, we'll pick you up." - He says, moving away from the couch in the living room and calls you with him.
You smile guiltily and apologize to Jungkook's parents that you really have to go. Jungkook's mom reassures you and apologizes for her tactless behavior.
"Please don't be offended, Y/N." - She says, hiding her embarrassment. "It's just... I haven't seen you in so long, I wanted to know more."
You glance over at Jungkook and see that his smile is still sly. His big, sly eyes are fixed on you again. You can tell from his movements that he's wondering how you're going to react to all of this. However, you smile back resolutely and glance at your watch.
"Oh, don't worry about it. It's okay, we really have to go. I'll be sure to tell you everything at dinner tonight. Thank you for welcoming us so warmly!" - You say, trying to lighten the mood. Jungkook's mom calms down and says that she and Dad will be waiting for you.
When you get into the car and Jungkook climbs into the driver's seat, you literally want to strangle him.
"What was that? I almost died in there!" - You complain. Jungkook laughs merrily.
"Yeah? I’m curious, what were you going to tell them?" - He asks, starting the car and driving off.
"I'd tell them my boyfriend is a mafia guy and I'm the future mafia queen." - You answered ironically. Jungkook's smile became less cheerful, but didn't disappear from his face. You tensed up, wondering if you had gone too far.
"Mafia queen. I fucking love the sound of that." - Jungkook says seriously, staring at the road. You burst out laughing. He gives you a quick glance. "I'm serious. My mafia queen..." - Jungkook says, as if savoring the words on his tongue. You shove him lightly.
"God, stop saying that. What a queen?" - You laugh. Jungkook doesn't stop even when you laugh. He understands that you're trying to lighten the mood, but his serious look speaks for itself.
"Why are you laughing?" - He asks, his voice sounding serious, but still with that same invisible smile in his eyes. "We're talking about the future. You shouldn't be ashamed to be a queen."
You glance at him, watching his expression, and feel his words tickle your nerves. His seriousness begins to convince you that he seems to be completely serious. What does this mean? You can never be a part of the mafia world, even if you're connected to Jungkook. You're too much of a good person to have any chance be half of the underworld.
"Jungkook, you... you can't be serious right now!" - You say, even though you know he's getting serious for some reason. You can't help but feel a little trepidation in your voice. Jungkook looks at you sideways, one hand on the steering wheel and the other on the armrest.
"Why? I'm completely serious. You have no idea what an honor it is for me to have such a queen." - He says, and his voice sounds like he has absolutely no doubt in his words.
You turn your head toward the window, trying to hide the emotions that are rising in your soul. A little embarrassed, but still with warmth in your heart. Jungkook seems to find another way to make you blush, even when he's being the most serious. Even though you were just joking.
"But why the queen?" - You ask, trying to turn this conversation into another joke.
"Because you deserve to be on top. You're always so strong and stubborn." - He sounds like he's already thought about it. You are stunned. You don't know what to say, so you laugh again, trying to change the subject.
"Well, if I'm going to be the queen of the mafia, will you be my loyal subject?" - You ask jokingly, returning his smile. Jungkook looks at you again, and his smile becomes even more mysterious.
"I'm not standing just a subject. I will be your right-hand man, ready to fulfill your every wish." - He says this in such a tone that it's hard to understand whether he's just joking or something more. You laugh softly, feeling his words penetrate deeper than you want to admit. Your eyes lock for a few seconds, and you see that he's not just playing around.
The car is approaching your parents' house, and the atmosphere between you is filled with something new-not just jokes, but feelings you're trying to hide.
"We're here!" - Jungkook says as he parks the Mercedes. He smiles at you with an expression that alarms you. You glance at him, not quite sure what exactly is going on between you two.
Tumblr media
You pick up your parents and return to Jungkook's house where you pick up his parents'. Your parents are chatting and discussing the upcoming dinner at the restaurant. They are really happy that after all these years they can meet and talk together.
When you arrive at the Yongdong restaurant, the impression of the luxurious interior and elegant atmosphere immediately impresses everyone. Yours mom and dad couldn't hide their surprise at the elegant setting.
"Why here?" - Asked your mom, a little concerned.
"It's too expensive, son, we could have had dinner at our house!" - Added your father. Jungkook smiled as if anticipating these questions.
"Oh, it's been so long since we've all been together, and I want this evening to be special for everyone." - He says, and you feel the excitement building inside you. You look at Jungkook and he looks completely calm. Is he really not nervous?
The restaurant was really impressive: an elegant place that combines traditional Korean style with modern elements. The minimalist interior is made of natural materials - dark wood, light walls with elegant decorative elements reminiscent of Korean art.
A large stained-glass window on the wall allows natural light to enter the space, creating a cozy atmosphere. The tables in the restaurant are quite simple but elegantly decorated, and the lighting adds to the warm and relaxed atmosphere.
You placed your order and waited for your food. Not much time passes and the first dishes are brought to you. Sashimi, pibimbap, kalpuksu (soup with noodles and meat), yoichi (fermented fish).
Your parents and you are enjoying your dinner, and you've even relaxed a bit, forgetting why you're here. However, you were jolted awake by a question from Jungkook's mom.
"So, baby, tell me about your boyfriend. I'm so curious who he is. Suri, you should have told me earlier. I'm surprised you kept this information from me." - Yonok complains, but without any anger in her voice. Your mother raises her eyebrows in surprise. She didn't know her daughter had a boyfriend.
"Do you have a boyfriend, daughter?" - Your mom asks and you smile nervously. Jungkook sees that this is the right time to tell everyone and draws attention.
"I think it's time to tell you why we really brought you all here." - He says calmly. You look at him, as does everyone else at the table. Jungkook takes your hand and says. "Y/N and I are dating. I've loved her for a long time and only recently told her. We thought you all should know." - He looks at your parents. "Because I am very serious about your daughter." - You look at Jungkook and his relaxed posture at the table and feel a flutter in your chest.
You turn your gaze to your parents and they all sit there with round eyes, shocked by the confession, even though all four of them wanted you to be a couple. You wait for them to say something, but it's like a weight has been lifted from your shoulders.

“Oh come on, Y/N” your friend nudged your arm. “You haven’t really been out since you broke up with San earlier this year.”
“I don’t know,” you look away from your friend. ”I still feel like it’s too soon…,” you look her way with almost a pout.
“Y/N,” She says flatly, “It’s been almost 8 months, atleast go out and enjoy something for yourself.”
Tumblr media
You and San had been together since  you were 17, you’d met him in your final year of highschool when you moved to Korea and you two hit it off almost immediately.
San was reserved and quiet but something about you made him fall shamelessly in love within just a few weeks. He still doesn’t know if it was your broken Korean in your native accent, or the fact that he’d found himself in another person.
The two of you went to the same college, which he convinced you to move in with him shortly before the start of your 3rd year, and everything had gone off without a hitch. The late night study sessions, the mutual celebration of academic milestones and achievements, and your graduation.
He wanted to marry you, he’d known for sometime he wanted to spend the rest of his life with you. He would never tell you that though, he wanted to wait until it felt right. He’d wanted you both to finish college and settle into your career fields, he wanted nothing more than to have a perfect family with you.
Until his idea of a white picket fence lifestyle started becoming clouded with the harshness of reality.
Now that college is over, you realize just how little your careers had to offer. After several months of looking, San found something, it wasn’t great but it got his foot in the door and that’s what he wanted, but it made him exhausted everyday.
The days got longer and the time with you got shorter and it wore on him, but you were the love of his life.
It all hit him so harshly when he came home from the longest day that he’d had yet, and the coldness hit him. Something wasn’t right, something was different and not in a good way.
He’d seen it from across the room, a note on the fridge, the fridge filled with pictures of you two, nothing but happy memories. He crosses the room and picks up the piece of paper to read it and as he does the world around him shatters.
You left.
While he was gone, you’d packed up your things and moved back in with your parents. He stands there with the note in hand as he tries his damndest to figure out where it all went wrong - did he not love you enough? What did he fail to notice?
The light of his life, the one he was planning to spend the rest of his life with.
You’d left him.
Tumblr media
You sighed, you knew your friends were right. You’d spent 6 years with him, spending 8 months trying to get over that didn’t feel like nearly enough, then again you weren’t convinced you’d ever be over it.
You had to try though, right?
 “Fine, at least they’re mostly your friends,” you look at your friend, defeated. “I won't have to deal with questions about him.”
Tumblr media
Both of you had walked into the house party, there were already a sizable number of guests present as you made your way through the party, being dragged by your friend through a crowd of unfamiliar faces.
She finally reaches the kitchen, and she immediately pours you both a drink. You reluctantly accept the drink with a questioning look.
“Social lubricant, you’re rusty babe,” she smirks at you, taking a sip of her own drink.
You wanted to argue but she was right, you’d felt like a hermit most of the past year. You’d stayed to yourself and kept quiet when at work. You felt lost, like you’d moved here fresh all over again after your break up with San.
It took you weeks to stop instinctively driving back to your shared apartment, after long days at the office when it’d be dark, muscle memory drove you back.
A few times you contemplated just walking in, apologizing, but you didn’t.
You finish your drink quickly without thinking about it as you chat with your friend, you grab another as she walks through the crowd with you.
“There is this guy I work with, he’s in the IT department, I want you to meet him - I think you’d like him!” She practically yells over the music as you walk out onto the back patio.
After looking around briefly she spots him, a tall and lanky boy, she smiles dragging you with her.
“Yunho!!” she calls out across the yard, causing the boy to look up.
Oh… He was very attractive.
You follow closely behind as you both walk up to him, he was taller than you’d first seen and he had beautiful dark brown hair, watching him smile could light up a room.
“And this is my friend, Y/N,” you’re pulled out of your trance as your name is called, causing you to look up at him as he extends his hand.
“Yunho, was it?” you question him as he nods softly.
“Oh would you look at that, one of my work friends just showed up, I’ll be back to check on you guys in a bit!” she smirks as she runs off before you have the chance to say anything.
“So, she’s told me quite a lot about you at work,” Yunho smiles softly
You turn your focus back to him, noticing his bright smile. “I’d hope it’s all good,” you can’t help but chuckle, finding the man's presence comfortable.
“I’d like to think so,” He pauses, taking you in as the two of you stand there in comfortable silence. “So, Y/N, are you… seeing anyone right now?”
You look at the man, slightly shocked.
“N-no,” you stutter, the question seeming to catch you off guard.
He quirks his eyebrow, but chooses to pay it no mind since your friend had let him know you were most definitely single.
Just as you were about to reply with something, your eyes happened to catch a familiar face out of the corner of your eye.
Choi San
What the hell was he doing here?  The two of you after the break up never ran in the same circles. You felt every emotion all at one time, and it hit you like a ton of bricks. Not wanting to be rude, you excused yourself from Yunho. You promised you’d catch up with him later, but you needed to go find your friend.
You’d made your way through the crowd of people, being very careful to not tip San off that you were here. You run up to her, pulling her out of conversation as tears threaten to spill.
“Woah, hey! Chill, what happened?” she looked concerned  as she held onto you.
“San’s here, I just saw him, we need to leave,” you frantically speak
She cranes her head up and looks around, she doesn’t see the taller boy anywhere, not even in the backyard.
“Y/N, honey, I think the drinks are getting to you.. I don’t see him,” She reassured you.
You blinked away the tears in your eyes as you looked around, seeming to agree with her.
“You’re right.. Maybe, just… someone who looks like him,” You sigh.
Tumblr media
You’d made your way back outside to find Yunho, who had long disappeared at this point, so you’d settled into a crowd of people. The thought of San settling back into your head, what if he really was here?
No, she was right, your old apartment was too far from here, unless he’d met someone close. The thought both broke your heart and infuriated you. You had decided to go grab your 4th? 5th? Drink of the night, you’d lost count an hour or so ago. You made your way through a crowd of people before you stumbled into someone's broad back.
“I’m sorry! I was -,” you paused, as you looked up to greet the stranger attempting to spew apologies, you met a familiar pair of eyes.
“San…?” You spoke softly.
“Y/N….,” his voice sounded broken, he clearly didn’t expect to find you here either.
You broke your eye contact after what felt like an eternity, trying to push by him in an attempt to hide your tears from him. He grabs your arm, turning you back around to face him.
“Can we talk? Please?” He begs as the grip on your arm loosens.
You  search his eyes for a  moment before sighing, “I’ve never been able to tell you no.”
His signature smile beams at you as he gestures to the sliding glass doors signaling for the two of you to head outside.
The air felt different as you stepped outside with San, almost colder and even more dense. You’d noticed the attendees outside had thinned out. You felt scared, you weren't sure why either. San would never do anything to hurt you, no matter how bad you’d hurt him. Maybe it was the fear of facing him after so long. He’d pulled you to the side of the deck, leaning against  the railing as he took one last look at you before speaking.
“I missed you..,” he spoke softly.
Your heart immediately broke, you knew what you did and there was a part of you that knew you wouldn’t be able to outrun it.
Not forever.
“I… I missed you too,” you choked out, unable to look at him. ”Probably for a lot longer than you’ve missed me.”
He bit his lip, attempting to hold back his tears.
He knew, he finally put the pieces together weeks after you’d left. He was never around, there were nights you’d be asleep and his dinner had been cold or put in the microwave as an attempt to keep it warm. Your days off he was exhausted and his days off you worked.
The job he’d gotten propelled his career forward, the long nights and strict performance reviews had been worth it, but not at the cost of doing what he did to you, to what the two of you built together.
“Y/N, I.. I’m sorry.. I was selfish,” his voice was shaky, “I was so focused on trying to make our life perfect, I neglected the most perfect part of mine.”
His eyes were glossy as he looked back at you.
“I never saw you anymore San, the times I did you were asleep or the rare nights we were actually able to sit down for dinner together,” you broke, tears fell down your cheek as you brought your hand up to your face.
“I left that job,” he spoke plainly.
“After you left I worked, maybe for another month, until I realized it drove us apart,” He chokes out, tears welling in his eyes.
You made eye contact, you both were vulnerable with each other for the first time in what felt like years.
“I wanted to, no, I should’ve reached out,” he admits, “But I was a coward, I was sure you hated me, and that's the reason you’d left without much of a word.”
“It took me months to break myself of the habit of showing up at our old home,” you share.
It must’ve been the alcohol fueling these confessions, the tears, otherwise you’re not sure you’d be standing here with him like this.
“Every hard day at work, my brain wanted to come home, and it recognized you were home, San,” you dry your face before looking back at him. ”I can’t tell you how many times I sat in our driveway or across the street contemplating on coming back… apologizing for leaving the way I did.”
“I wish you did…,” he chuckles softly, “I would have welcomed you back with open arms.”
You stand there, speechless. The man before you should hate you, you walked out a life the two of you spent years building together.
But he didn’t.
He stood there, his feline eyes drinking in every detail of you, the way you’d cut your hair since the breakup, the necklace he bought you was missing, the way your eyes sparkled with the reflection of the porch light, and the way your face turned so pink when you  drank.
He missed it. He missed you.
He smiled at you, a smile you had no reason to be on the receiving end of.
“Byeol misses you too, she sleeps on your side of the bed most nights,” he tells you, chuckling.
“You never moved on?” you reply softly.
“I never dreamed of it…” He said “You were all I ever wanted, and I never got closure… I was hopeful I'd find you again, no matter how long it took.”
He reached out and grabbed your hand.
“This may be selfish, and you have every right to hate me but…,” he pauses, “Am I asking too much to try again? One more time?” He looks at you, you can feel the amount of love he still holds for you.
You smiled at him. Closing the distance between the two of you, you wrap your arms around his neck in a tight embrace. He’s taken aback at first, but it doesn’t take long before he wraps his arms around you just as tight.
You whisper softly, barely loud enough to hear.
“One more time.”

Love and Deepspace community I repeat- if you are in the USA while elebrating Caleb’s birthday and you are a Person of Color (Asian, Black, Latino, Native American, Pacific Islander ect,) you need to be careful going to Caleb birthday events.
ICE has arrested US citizen, tourist, people who are doing it the “right way”. They have arrested people with proper documentation- I need everyone to understand that they do not care, they have quotas to fill, and will RACIALLY PROFILE YOU.
Having attended LADS events before I know a large portion of our community are Asian- I also know racist will interchange Asian from Latino when it is convenient to them. There is also a growing attention on the number of Asian migrants who traveled into the USA through Latin America. This is my warning that if you think this will not affect your community or you- you are wrong. Just look at what’s happening with Justin Chung. A Korean immigrant in the USA, being tricked by ICE, and got brute force used on him. (I will talk further about his case in a future post.)
Please be careful- travel in groups/ pairs. Have ID, have a phone charged at all times in case you need to document any interactions. I’d suggest following ICE watch accounts for the area you are in. Know where the immigration courts are in your area, because that’s where they are currently staking out- it might be near your event venue.

Found-Family headcanons for a³'s coven of chaos, part 1: (because they all deserved more time with each other)
(part 2, here.)
(part 3, here.)
Agatha learned spanish for Rio, obviously—and spices up her dialogue with Spanish phrases out of habit. I assume she also knows other languages, being alive for as long as she has.
But I'd also like to think that language-learning gradually becomes something they all surprise each other with. And this is definitely super self-indulgent, because I'm always ecstatic when my native English-speaker friends are interested in learning my language.
For example, I definitely think Billy would ask Alice to teach him korean—and she'd be really excited for that. Not to mention, I feel like Billy just has the vibe of someone who'd be interested in learning different languages. (and korean in particular I think he'd definitely find interesting.)
I also definitely think Jen would try learning Sicilian for Lilia, considering the effort she makes to understand her and keep her comfortable towards the end. Lilia would be so moved, because she probably hasn't spoken to anyone in her mother-tongue in centuries. Like, it's literally considered an endanged language. (“Currently considered a “vulnerable” language by UNESCO, Sicilian faces increasing pressure from standard Italian, though it remains stronger than nearly all other Italian language varieties.”)
Mrs. Davis loves making food for all of them, always trying to diversify her cooking to suit their appetites, their cultures, the things each of them can eat, etc. It's a lot, but she doesn't mind!! She's a grandma!! She loves feeding people—and she missed having someone to cook for.
She grows her greens all by herself, too. Rio occasionally helps her with weeding and stuff. Mrs. Davis is freaked out by her rancid vibes at first, but ends up saying she's a “very sweet girl,” to which everyone responds by staring at her horrified.
Mrs. Davis would also definitely make a chore chart for everyone, but it never works out for a NUMBER of reasons.
First or all, Agatha always skips her turn with cleaning, saying that “she forgot.” She knows that either Billy or Sharon will just take care of it anyways. (Jen refuses to do any of Agatha's chores. “She can either do it by herself or drown in her own garbage-”)
Lilia always gets distracted and leaves her chores unfinished. She can only ever remember laundry, for some reason—she does everyone's laundry. But other than that, jeez. My girl is messy and that's okay. She has her very own unique way of finding where she puts her stuff, but others would merely call it chaos. Jen always picks up after her—and Lilia always huffs and puffs about how, “well now I can't find anything!”
Alice is the sort of person who accidentally creates messes everywhere, then stuffs everything wherever she finds. In drawers, under beds, you name it. Very, “out of sight, out of mind.” Like, she probably has “a chair” where she throws all her clothes.
Billy is very responsible, always abiding to the chore chart and oftentimes doing Agatha's chores too.
Jen is a total neat freak. She wants everything to be organised and under control—and she needs everything to smell nice.
She always makes the others scented candles. Agatha claims they're “useless garbage,” but uses them anyways.
Jen is also the one who usually keeps track of the bills and expenses, since she earns the most through her, “real job.”
Lilia is the sort of person to get lost in the mall, or even just the super-market. Alice has needed to look for her more than once.
Agatha loves crushing Jen's videos by appearing in the background and doing whatever bullshit she feels like.
Alice and Billy are everyone's mediators. Whenever someone gets in an argument, they're the ones who force them to work it out.
Alice is very protective of Sharon and Lilia, because she has mommy issues. Agatha has the opposite sort of mommy issues—but Sharon and Lilia treat them both like they're their kids.
The first time Billy brought Eddie to meet his coven, they literally put him through trials to decide whether he's worthy to date their son. Eddie is surprised he's been coven-approved.
“These women are insane, Billy—but then again, so am I for sticking around anyways.”
Eddie is very tired. His favourite coven members are Jen and Alice, who he considers the most normal. I REALLY think he'd fuck with Jen, because they're both so done with everyone else.

Yandere Gwi-Nam (1/4)
Tumblr media
Word Count: 3.9k
I remembered that I actually wrote this whole thing for fun several months ago. Might as well use this for an easy peasy ease back into society.
R stared at the email on her phone, her brain scrambling to make sense of the Korean typo in the email. Although she stood in the main hallway, gathering many stares from the native Korean high school students, the posted signs were not the most helpful.
She took in her surroundings once again, adjusting her old and well-loved frog backpack, loaded with stationery. The hoard of students desperate to make it to class on time sometimes collided, and R was astounded at the sheer student population of the public high school. Unlike from her home country, the high school seemed well-funded and quite modern, even compared to the college she was actively attending at home — which had given her this opportunity abroad. The atmosphere made R somewhat anxious.
R sighed, deciding the best course of action — after a few failed attempts of grabbing a frantic student’s attention — was to go to the right and follow past the principal’s office. R’s entire goal was to find the teacher’s lounge. And although one might think to ask the principal, she was terrified of making a poor first impression.
The hallway had grown vacant and silent, only the sound of her footsteps echoing. She noticed her tattoo cover-up sleeves were scrunching slightly, and while walking, looked down to adjust it.
She suddenly heard loud, quick footsteps come from behind. Just as she went to glance over her shoulder, a hard shoulder smashed into her back and knocked R forward onto the ground. She scraped her knees, which created instant panic. As she scrambled to sit and inspect her knee, there was a cruel snicker.
R scowled, recognizing the tear in her leg sleeve. Luckily, R was always analy OCD and overprepared, and knew she could clip it with a pin and hide it under her knee-length black skirt.
Two shoes stopped in front of her. R looked up, unamused. A student who looked far more mature than his peers by a few years toward her with black banks and a Korean-styled mullet. As she was still adjusting from her native tongue to Korean, his words did not register at first.
R’s scowl disappeared as she intently focused on the words.
“Since when does our school let in foreign [unknown]?” he sneered.
R blinked, only assuming it was foul language spitting from his mouth, and rolled her eyes. “You are making a bad first impression on a new teacher.” She intentionally left out the assistant.
She watched as his breath and stance stiffened. “Shit.” He glanced her over, a slight smirk growing. “The school must be desperate if they took in a foreign [whore] with fake hair and tattoos.”
R’s eyes widened and her cheeks darkened, pulling the dark brown wig over her head to hide her brightly dyed hair. She finally brushed herself off and pinned the sleeves together. R returned to her feet, only then recognizing the slight burn in her knees.
“Listen, kid. How about you mind your business and I’ll mind mine? I can already tell you’re an asshole, so I’d recommend you get to your class before I bring you with me to the principal’s office for harassment.”
The student sneered and crossed his arms. There was a momentary tense staredown before he seemed to loosen up, clicking his tongue and walking off — but not without snatching one of her decorative to-do list papers. R sighed, not caring enough to pursue her to-do list. She already seemed fairly unprofessional with her frog backpack, so a pink sticky note with Hello Kitty on it was better off left out of sight.
Despite the aggravating experience, R continued on her way, plastering a smile on her face. Eventually, she found the teacher’s office empty. However, a teacher named Ms. Park had left a name on the door with R’s name and the classroom number. R sighed with relief, heading off to the classroom.
R burst through the classroom door. Ms. Park had been speaking, but all went silent except for the muttering of students. R was nervous, but as time passed, the classroom became as familiar as any other.
~~~
R blasted her somewhat generic pop playlist since the old songs from the 2000s never grew old to her. She was chowing down on her boxed lunch, which was cutely styled like everything else: a Hello Kitty lunchbox, as she succumbed to capitalistic desires of that brand easily.
The concrete, half-built foundation was where she went during the lunch period to get some peace and quiet. During the semester, construction had been placed to a halt except for weekends, as there were frequent noise complaints from school staff and students. To R, it was her perfect hide-away location from prying eyes.
As she finished up her homemade kimbap — an accomplishment R was proud of — Shake It Off began echoing from her phone. R grinned, and she stood up. She sang poorly, but sang with it regardless, even incorporating some equally poor dance moves during the chorus.
R halted mid-song as her stomach had a sharp, sudden pain, hissing loudly and grasping her stomach. She cursed under her breath.
“Eh? How unathletic are you? How embarrassing.”
R gasped in fright, swerving to face the onlooker. She sighed out of relief, recognizing the infamous rule-breaker from her classroom (although he rarely attended class). R had a neutral opinion of the boy, as he was notoriously the “bully’s gopher,” but hadn’t ratted her out or spread any rumors about her unprofessional underbelly.
“At least I’m more athletic than the gym instructor,” R shot back, noticing that the stomach pain had left.
Gwi-nam’s eyebrows raised, adorning a cheeky grin. He often put up an air of unapproachability, but due to R’s semi-authority, it seemed he neither cared to intimidate nor to fake manners.
“You could get fired for saying something like that.”
“I could get fired for a lot of things, kid.”
R went over and sat back on the cement steps, furrowing through her lunchbox and sipping on an internationally imported Capri Sun. Gwi-nam leaned on the crudely placed metal rails, leering over the woman. He eyed the package curiously, as well as the rest of the cutified objects.
“I’m amazed someone like you got transferred here,” Gwi-nam scoffed. “There’s nothing professional about you.”
“My college GPA, past internships, letters of recommendation, and my polyglot status say otherwise. Besides, Ms. Park says I bring a modern level of cultural diversity.”
“God, you’re full of yourself.”
“So what?” R chortled, slurping up the rest of her juice. “I deserve to be a little self-confident. I worked hard to get here.”
Gwi-nam rolled his eyes. “Whatever. What the hell are doing out here anyway? I bet you’re too weird to make any friends.”
“Not at all. I just like to eat alone,” R insisted. “Why are you here, kid? Don’t you have anywhere else to be or lunch to be eating?”
“I don’t have friends. Just people I hang out with.”
“Hm. Well, how about some bribery to get you back with your people? Here’s a chocolate bar.”
~~~
R handed the student sitting next to her a tiny container of cut canteloupe and some chopsticks. “At this rate, you owe me an entire hot pot.”
Gwi-nam snatched the bowl, immediately digging in hungrily. “No way,” he grumbled with a full mouth. “That would count as taking advantage of a student. Besides, with how fat you’ve gotten, you obviously have some food to spare.”
R clicked her tongue angrily, swatting Gwi-nam’s neck. “How dare you comment on a woman’s wait like that. With those manners, it’s no wonder why you don’t have a girlfriend.”
The comment made her feel somewhat insecure regardless. Gwi-nam wasn’t wrong. R had been wearing baggier shirts recently, as no matter how much she exercised or ate healthily, it hardly impacted the small stomach bump she had developed in the last two months. The only explanation was that it was from poor sleep, stress, and overworking.
“I’m too busy for that.”
“Too busy because you’re beating up some helpless classmate, right? Don’t think I don’t notice when your knuckles are all messed up. You’re called the bully’s gopher for a reason.”
“You fucking bitch,” Gwi-nam sneered,“ don’t call me that. Just because you know a fucking language doesn’t mean I won’t kill you.”
R sent a glare before snatching back the cantaloupe from him. “God, you’re rude and sensitive.”
“As if. Now give me my food back.”
She rolled her eyes. She very much assumed he had home problems and had taken some level of pity on him since the boy showed up in the building every day since their first encounter and had neither friends nor food. But after enduring an all-nighter, she didn’t feel like putting up with his foul attitude.
R shoved her food back into the lunchbox and stood up. As she did so, Gwi-nam’s hands latched onto R, causing her to almost trip. Gwi-nam shouted in irritation, but the sensation of standing had made R feel dizzy enough not to notice. Black dots clouded her vision and she stumbled forward slightly.
“Hey!” Gwi-nam exclaimed, grabbing and pulling her back to the step.
R sat, and it felt as though her stomach vibrated with agony. She let out a hiss of pain and laid back, the lunchbox long forgotten. R gasped and rubbed her stomach, feeling a sudden leaking sensation. It was as though her stomach was hollowing out.
“What’s wrong?” Gwi-nam huffed, aiding in lowering her slowly onto the steps.
“I… I don’t know — I feel…”
“What the fuck —!”
R was confused, focusing on nothing but the sharp cramps. But as Gwi-nam scampered away, R twisted her head up to see what he was looking at. R screeched as she noticed a waterfall of bloody blobs leaking from her white skirt. R reached for her phone but barely felt the ability to move from the cramps. It was as though her period was on blast.
“Call a fucking ambulance!” R shrieked, to which Gwi-nam clumsily withdrew up from his pocket.
He called 119, but nothing other than confusion was displayed in his expression. R heard the muffled voice of an operator, to which Gwi-nam stuttered in reply,“ I - I need an ambulance at the front gate of Hyosan High.” Another few seconds passed before Gwi-nam spat out a few stuttered descriptions of the emergency.
He pocketed the phone before grabbing R’s arms and tugging her up. R grunted, a few tears sliding down her cheek. When R’s legs gave out, Gwi-nam scoffed in annoyance and scooped her up, trying to disregard the blood that stained his jacket.
R grasped onto him for dear life, stuttering,“ What are you doing?”
“What does it look like, stupid?”
A few minutes later, Gwi-nam arrived at the front gate at the knick of time. He flinched at how loud the sirens were as the ambulance pulled up. Nurses rolled out and helped get R into the back, with Gwi-nam deciding to get in the back.
~~~
“Ms. R, it appears you had an intense miscarriage,” the doctor informed the woman, staring at the clipboard. “You were being too hard on yourself during the pregnancy.”
R paled and shivered. “I didn’t… I didn’t know.”
“You didn’t know you were pregnant?”
“No.”
“I’m sorry then. However, you should be able to head home now. Your boyfriend is waiting outside.”
“He’s not my…” R mumbled, watching the doctor walk off.
The nurses helped R to her feet. She was thoroughly cleaned, adorning nothing but the white robe. However, with the state of her old clothing, they had been discarded with instructions to head straight home and change. R slipped on her shoes and shuffled weakly to the open doorway.
His head bobbed sleepily, Gwi-nam was sitting by the door. R wiped away her tears and softly shook his shoulder. R was surprised he had waited, as by the time everything was okayed, the sun had set. Ms. Park had called at some point, but R would deal with the repercussions of a missed afternoon session and after-school office hours when she got home.
“Gwi-nam,” R called.
His head shot up and a snort escaped. His eyes were wide and his brow furrowed. He rose, immediately eyeing her up and down. “What happened? The sons of bitches wouldn’t let me go in to see you.”
R chuckled, insecurely grasping at her stomach. “It was… just a stomach ulcer that got stuck. They had to get rid of it, that is all. I’m alright.”
Gwi-nam’s shoulders instantly relaxed. “Eh? All that blood for an ulcer?”
“It’s been growing for two months now.” R glanced around. “You should head home now. Let me get you something from the vending machine. It’s not much, but —“
“You were the one in the hospital,” he gruffly mumbled. “Besides, you were the one who said I owed you a hot pot.”
“Nonsense. Your parents are probably waiting for you.”
He snorted obnoxiously. “No, they’re not. So, let’s go.”
Gwi-nam grabbed her arm and started dragging her down the hall to the exit. R protested but with his tight, unrelinquishing hold, she gave in and joined him at a nearby convenience store. After some fuss between them, Gwi-nam was able to take what she grabbed and pay for the food together. R was as grateful as she was surprised by the student’s kindness.
When they sat at the window, R inquired quietly,“ Are you sure your parents aren’t waiting for you?”
“As if. My dad’s probably off at work while my mom’s fucking her new boyfriend in a hotel.” R frowned, to which Gwi-nam snapped,“ Hey, don’t fucking look at me like that. I don’t want your pity.”
“It’s not pity,” she replied. “I’m upset. You deserve better people in your life.”
Gwi-nam tried not to show that the comment had taken him aback, covering it up with a glare and a scoff. However, despite his best cover-up, R noticed how blood rushed to his cheeks. R sent him a sweet smile, unaware of just how impacted Gwi-nam was.
~~~
The door to the classroom slid open loudly, and without looking, R stated,” It’s not like you to be so early for our sessions, Cheong-san.”
When R received no reply, she looked up. She was taken aback to find Gwi-nam standing at the entrance, harboring an unsure and anxious expression with his backpack shouldered. R tilted her head and sent a smile.
“Gwi-nam, come sit. How can I help you?”
“I need help with English, obviously.”
R chuckled as the man plopped into the seat next to hers, backpack on the floor. “I assumed. I was more so asking what you need help with for English.”
“Oh. Uh, with… the homework.”
R found it endearing how nervous he was, glancing constantly at the door. She knew he would rather be caught dead than at a study session, but was incredibly proud of his courage. Gwi-nam pulled out the paper. The class was assigned various Robert Frost poems to decipher. Gwi-nam had been assigned to Stopping by Woods. And instead of just using a translator, Gwi-nam came to R.
“Do you need help with the grammar functions?” R inquired.
Gwi-nam nodded, grabbing a pen. R began explaining the concepts and switching words to make the sentences more comprehensible to a foreign speaker. Gwi-nam was surprisingly attentive until a ding came from R’s phone.
R glanced briefly at the notification, noticing the time. “Ah. I have a scheduled student appointment in a few minutes, so I have to cut this short. Can I pen you in for next Monday?”
“Eh? Why?”
“So that you can come again. If you do, I’ll even bring you a snack. How does three-thirty sound?”
Gwi-nam shoved his notes back in begrudgingly. “Whatever,” he muttered, not meeting R’s eyes.
“Great! See you then. Get home safe, Gwi-nam.”
He didn’t reply, quickly shuffling into the hallway. R’s heart warmed, and a part of her felt somewhat proud that she was making an impact on her student’s life to some capacity.
~~~
R awoke with a gasp, clasping at her bedsheets. It took not a moment after for her alarm to go blaring in her ears. She immediately shut it off and focused on regaining her breath.
Everything was going well in Korea. Work, friends, lifestyle, school (as exhausting as it was to be doing college at the same time as her transfer abroad) — all except the overlying issue.
R had managed to attract a stalker.
It started small, and she was convinced it was a student of hers. She constantly felt watched when nobody was around. Things would go missing from her bag or desk. Then one day, while she was in the office on her own, she glanced over and saw a shadowed figure staring through a crack in the door.
That’s when things seemed to escalate, especially the paranoia. She became more organized with her things and knew when things would disappear. She carried a safety weapon at all times. Sometimes, when a hooded man followed her for a stretch, she’d break for a run.
And then things escalated again — one day, the hooded man ran, too.
That was when, after calling Ms. Park in distress, they went to the police together. R knew that Korea tended not to take cases like her’s seriously, and it’s not as though she knew how to talk to a police officer that well.
With thorough convincing from Ms. Park, they kept an eye on the neighborhood R lived in from time to time. But that hardly seemed to do any good, because that was when R noticed that hooded man outside her apartment building. And then outside her apartment.
R invested in every home safety feature. Door cameras, motion-detecting lights, and a silent break-in alarm if it came to it.
She was terrified and was considering moving, to say the least. Calling the police was a lost cause since they “couldn’t do anything with the footage” and “a crime hadn’t happened yet.”
So R lived in fear. The stalker had even invaded her nightmares.
When R grabbed her phone, she noticed that one of her bear-shaped sticky notes was beside the phone. She went through her notifications before she roused herself. And only then did she notice the content of the sticky note.
Written in messy, almost intelligible Korean, was written ‘The cops can’t do shit.’
R shrieked. She noticed her underwear drawer was ajar. She noticed that her lights had been unscrewed. And the silent alarm hadn’t been triggered. R was a mess getting ready for work, taking photos of the various evidence. And although she tried to compose herself on the subway, she was still a wreck when she got to campus.
As she walked past the school gates, she gasped when a fist punched her shoulder suddenly. R veered her body toward the culprit, recognizing Gwi-nam immediately. He wore a casual expression.
“Gwi-nam,” R stated, recovering from her shock – and momentarily forgetting her troubles.
The student clicked his tongue, motioning to his head. “Your hair is falling off, teacher.”
“Ah!” R, embarrassed, readjusted the wig furiously. “Better?”
His nostrils flared and he eyed her up and down. He nodded.
“Thank you. I hope to see you in class later.”
R walked away, feeling her student’s eyes follow her intensely.
Only then did the panic come back. She was in a rush, greeting students only briefly until she arrived at the teacher’s office. R wrapped her arms around Ms. Park from behind, who jolted in shock.
“R!” she exclaimed.
“Help.”
R released her and handed the now attentive Ms. Park her phone. The woman scrolled through the photos, growing paler by the second. She handed the phone back.
“You can’t stay there anymore.”
“I know that — but my landlord won’t accept it as a reason to break the lease. My credit score will be destroyed.”
“Fuck the credit score!” Other teachers glared, causing Ms. Park to clear her throat and compose herself. “You have to move out today. I’ll help you after class.”
“My assignment will be late.”
“R. This is not up for negotiation. So stop worrying and let’s leave this for after school.”
She nodded, blinking away the blurred tears. She sat at her desk, rummaging through her items quickly. Ms. Park nudged her, a twinkle in her eye.
“You know, you’re out here doing miracle work for our students. I was checking class B’s overall grades, and I found that On-jo has gone from a D+ to a B-. And even better, Gwi-nam somehow went from failing to a B+. I’m sure you’ll get a bonus from the principal for all your hard work at the end of the school year.”
R smiled, some of her uneasiness lifting off her shoulders from the news.
~~~
Much to R’s dismay, it quickly became apparent that R had forgotten to pack a lunch. She had grabbed her lunch box, but the contents were nonexistent. Thus, R knew she’d have to head down to the cafeteria vending machine grab some carbohydrate-filled junk, and break the bad news to Gwi-nam.
On her way, she noticed Gwi-nam leaning on a wall on his phone. R hummed, approaching. Gwi-nam immediately noticed, eyes glued to her figure. R paused in front of him, fumbling with her fingers.
“Well, Gwi-nam, I… woke up late this morning, so I didn’t pack a lunch. Do you have money for the vending machine?”
“Eh? Late? How unprofessional.”
R rolled her eyes. I’ll take that as a yes. Just make sure you eat.” R spun to head over to the cafeteria before pausing. “Oh, one more thing. I’m proud of you and the progress you’ve made in class, Gwi-nam. I hope you know that.”
She walked over to the cafeteria, not noticing how the student gulped and his cheeks grew red, unable to tear his gaze away from the woman.
The cafeteria was crowded and R struggled to evade students. She replied to greetings from students and eventually made it to the vending machine. R checked her phone as a goofy lunch wrap slowly unraveled. Alas, the lunch period was already fifteen minutes through.
The wrap was nearly loose, sliding down the front. It did so slowly, and R nearly screamed when she realized it was about to stop moving.
R had had a bad enough day and kicked the machine. Just like that, the wrap plopped down. As R grabbed it, the noise level in the cafeteria skyrocketed. R swerved to observe the commotion and was unprepared for what she saw. A hoard of students were flying through the glass entrance, until students suddenly slammed it shut, locking out a small group. Screams echoed, and despite the unknowing threat, R dashed toward the entrance, shoving her wrap into her skirt pocket.
And that was when another hoard approached. Students covered in blood ran at the group, and although they tried to run, the students caught them. Blood spewed against the glass, and R shrieked. Although R was frozen in place, everyone around her was running amock in panic from the sudden brutal attack.
R stood just on the other side of the pane, not far from the front door. Students ran, and then so did the blood-covered students. The doors went crashing open, and R’s life flashed before her eyes as a student she immediately recognized pounced at her.

"In the twenty-first century, nothing is more indicative of U.S. empire than the global reach of the U.S. military. Much of this power comes from its approximately 800 military bases located in around eighty countries, accounting for about 95 percent of the world’s foreign military bases. No other country comes close to the U.S. level of worldwide military control. ... The United States probably has more military bases than any other empire in history, yet most Americans remain largely ignorant of their numbers and location. The history of these bases is an imperial history, tied to war, occupation, and military expansion. Wherever the U.S. military has gone bases have usually followed, giving the United States an ongoing presence long after the war or occupation is over.
The creation of bases has accompanied each wave of U.S. expansion. Military forts enabled continental conquest—255 in total—which functioned as foreign bases on land that was often still controlled by Native peoples. These forts operated as the military outposts of settler-colonialism and were targeted by Native peoples as violations of territorial integrity. The War of 1898 and subsequent occupation of overseas colonies resulted in a global basing system, and by 1938 the United States had fourteen military bases outside its continental borders in Puerto Rico, Cuba, Panama, the Virgin Islands, Hawaii, Midway, Wake, Guam, the Philippines, Shanghai, the Aleutians, American Samoa, and Johnston Island. ... The explosion of foreign bases during World War II would be followed by surges during the Korean War, the War in Vietnam, and the Wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, showing that wars and occupations continue to expand U.S. territory, even if the form of those acquisitions has shifted since the days of settler-colonialism and annexation. The contemporary number, which hovers around 800 to 900, is still an impressive network that places the military within striking distance of every spot on the globe. Historian Bruce Cumings calls the modern form of U.S. empire an 'archipelago empire,' small islands of U.S. control from which power can be projected anywhere in the world. It has become increasingly difficult to tell where the boundaries of the United States begin and where they end.
... For most U.S. citizens these bases are either invisible or accepted as a natural part of our national security apparatus. David Vine argues that Americans 'consider the situation normal and accept that US military installations exist in staggering numbers in other countries, on other peoples’ land. On the other hand, the idea that there would be foreign bases on US soil is unthinkable.'"

for silena, she deeply admires him. not only she saw him as an older brother, but she saw him as a role model. the way he stood up for her when everyone was criticizing her or telling her she wouldn’t make it, the way he was reliable, and how she can always depend on him.
she knew she can always count on seungcheol. and as they grew older, their bond became unconditional.

when silena gets upset or too angry she speaks in english mostly. so, joshua is her number listener (besides jeonghan)!! and he loves when she talks to him in their native language because it reminds him of home and she’s one of the reasons why he didn’t forget the language.

✷ 𓈒 . . ﹫ POPULARITY! 85%
✷ 𓈒 . . ﹫ RELATIONSHIP DESCRIPTION! jun’s number one protector, defender, and bodyguard. they’re so playful together, but they find comfort in each other.
during pre-debut when jun didn’t really know korean, silena was the first person to make him feel real comfortable. silena only used to speak mandarin with her dad, but jun ( and minghao ) are the only exceptions. she would talk comfortably with him, that they were both glad it wasn’t a language barrier between them.
besides seungcheol, that’s jun’s baby too. before they debuted, he made her special lunches to take to school, make sure her bag was packed, and she comfortable in the dorms. now, he make sure she lives life to the fullest.
they’re so supportive of each other. if they have solo works in china, they’re the first ones to promote each other’s work. and the way they dance together is too perfect, like they need more stages together.
but overall, that’s family!

✷ 𓈒 . . ﹫ SHIP NAME! hoshi & silena ╱ jaesoon
✷ 𓈒 . . ﹫ POPULARITY! 80%
✷ 𓈒 . . ﹫ RELATIONSHIP DESCRIPTION! her mentor. besides seungcheol, she looks up to hoshi the most.
silena was already a dancer before joining pledis, but being with hoshi just encouraged her more to do better. hoshi believes she was made to be a performer. if he wasn’t the leader for the performance unit, he would choose her. when it comes to choreographing, they love to challenge each other. especially because they have different styles of dancing, it goes well together.
besides bonding over dancing, silena is the captain of the hoshi tiger agenda. when the members used to disown him for believing he is a tiger, silena was the only one who would encourage him to keep it up.
they’re so chaotic, i can’t even put it into words. especially when they tag team mingyu during don’t lie… unstoppable. they’re so funny together, people can’t breathe around them.
but hoshi values silena so much and he’s really grateful she’s apart of seventeen.
Tumblr media
✷ 𓈒 . . ﹫ SHIP NAME! wonwoo & silena ╱ jiwon
✷ 𓈒 . . ﹫ POPULARITY! 77%
✷ 𓈒 . . ﹫ RELATIONSHIP DESCRIPTION! when you’re in a number one silena fan competition, but your opponent is wonwoo. he loves that girl down, he is her number one fan.
silena is mostly the one who brings wonwoo out of his shell when she notices he’ll be too quiet. she loves hearing his witty banter and horrible jokes! especially if the members tease him about the jokes, she’s his number one defender.
their relationship is more like a balance. wonwoo is more reserved and calm, while silena is more cheerful. and when they’re together, they’re either calm or chaotic. you’ll never know what their mood will be. it scares the members, especially mingyu because he dorms with both of them😭.
but say one thing about silena, and wonwoo won’t hesitate to call you out!!

✷ 𓈒 . . ﹫ POPULARITY! 67%
✷ 𓈒 . . ﹫ RELATIONSHIP DESCRIPTION! my favorite underrated duo. they don’t have many moments on camera together, but they love each other a lot.
they have this bond, where it’s comfortable but unspoken. they do little gestures for each other. like silena checking on woozi at his studio to make sure he’s alive or woozi making sure silena is comfortable while working together. and it took some time for them to get like that.
at first, woozi didn’t like the idea of having a woman in the group. it wasn’t because of silena, but it was because of how the group’s style would’ve probably had to change. he didn’t know that if she fits in seventeen’s style, or completely ruin it. but shit, woozi loves the idea now.
silena brings something different to svt, that can’t be explained. and he loves to experiment with it, especially because she can variate between rapping and singing. and woozi doesn’t like to admit it, but he loves when they work together. even on just a single or an album. silena has a creative thought process, that makes woozi respect her a lot.
and silena loves her woozi!! she respects him so much. she only trusts him to pull her out of her shell when it comes to making music. he guides her to be more creative and open minded. but being in a serious position, sil loves lighting up the mood.
the playfulness she has towards woozi is so cute. he adores her down.

Candace Park knows a lot about playing a role. For most of her life, she's been playing the role of the quiet Korean girl who takes all AP classes and plays a classical instrument, keeping her dreams of stardom-and her obsession with SLK, K-pop's top boyband-to herself. She doesn't see how a regular girl like her could possibly become one of those K-pop goddesses she sees on YouTube. Even though she can sing. Like, really sing.
So when Candace secretly enters a global audition held by SLK's music label, the last thing she expects is to actually get a coveted spot in their trainee program. And convincing her strict parents to let her to go is all but impossible ... although it's nothing compared to what comes next. Under the strict supervision of her instructors at the label's headquarters in Seoul, Candace must perfect her performance skills to within an inch of her life, learn to speak Korean fluently, and navigate the complex hierarchies of her fellow trainees, all while following the strict rules of the industry. Rule number one? NO DATING, which becomes impossible to follow when she meets a dreamy boy trainee. And in the all-out battle to debut, Candace is in danger of planting herself in the middle of a scandal lighting up the K-pop fandom around the world.
If she doesn't have what it takes to become a perfect, hair-flipping K-pop idol, what will that mean for her family, who have sacrificed everything to give her the chance? And is a spot in the most hyped K-pop girl group of all time really worth risking her friendships, her future, and everything she believes in?

Blood, sweat, and death. Welcome to the Pax Games.
Jo Linden was born into a world where wars are won with giant mechanical soldiers and the nuclear bomb was never invented. Yet the Cold War still rages, and international rivalries between democracy and communism are now fought at the Pax Games, an Olympic-style competition that pits young pilots of mechas against each other. The USSR has beaten the US in nearly every game since its inception, and in the 1963 Games, the US is desperate for a win. Because it's more than just the Games at stake. Premier Khrushchev will be attending, and after, he and President Kennedy are slated to sign a peace accord stabilizing the war in Vietnam-and their volatile relationship.
Raised in her father's mecha repair shop, Jo knows more than anyone about piloting. She's also the most unlikely pick for Team USA since she's a virtually unknown fighter. So when she's invited at the last minute to compete, she jumps at it. This could be the only chance to save her family's home from debt collectors. All eyes are on Jo from the moment she arrives. But as fighters start dying in the arena, it's suddenly clear that it's more than the usual Pax Games, and Jo finds herself drawn into a deadly political plot. And if she can't figure out the truth, it might mean the annihilation of everything.
In a global arms race between superpowers, playing out in violent games that only humanity could create, comes a chilling story of clashing titans, ruthless competition, freedom, and the girl caught in the middle of it all.

An Introduction to Kanji
Whether you are about to study your first Kanji character, or you have been studying for a while - welcome! In this first post of the Isshonihongo! Kanji section, I want to do a quick and simple overview of Kanji. In future posts we can deep-dive into the nitty-gritty of it all.
With that, let’s get into it!
A Super Brief History
Kanji characters originally came from China. How and who introduced them into Japanese is up for contention, but most likely it was through the nearby Korean peninsula. The thing is, it’s not like Japanese people were using ESP to communicate with each other. They had their own language that they were speaking. What makes things even more complicated is that Kanji didn’t get imported all at once; it happened slowly and over 3 different time periods. We’ll get into how that has affected the readings of the characters later in the on’yomi and kun’yomi posts. However, it’s safe to say that you can understand why Kanji is such a beautiful mess 😂
The Letter “A”
I want you to think of the English letter “a”. (I’m partial to it because it’s the first letter in my first and last name, but that’s neither here nor there.) It is one letter in, and thus one of the 3 sounds of the word “cat”. However, it can be a word all by itself too. Ok, keep that in mind.
When it comes to pronouncing the letter “a”, there are also different ways to go about it. The “a” in “cat” is not pronounced the same way as the one in “mate”. Furthermore, the pronunciation of the “a” in “car” is affected by the “r” that comes after it.
By now I think you see where I’m going. Our character “a” has A LOT in common with Kanji! (Coincidentally, the same is true with “I” / “i”.)
How Kanji Work
So how exactly Do Kanji work?? I’m glad you asked!
Kanji are logograms. This means that they are symbols that represent words or parts of words. This is in contrast to phonograms (the English alphabet has these*), which represent sounds.
Each Kanji also represents an idea or a concept. Let’s take the character 男 for example. It represents the idea of “man”. By itself, this Kanji is a word. We can alternatively combine 男 with okurigana to make different words. Our final choice is to combine 男 with 1 or more other Kanji to make other words. Take a look at the 3 different cases:
Tumblr media
Now, not all Kanji can form words by themselves like case 1. Many characters only make sense if they are with other characters, or with okurigana. The main thing to remember is that in any case, Kanji characters carry their ideas or concepts with them when they form words.
We are lucky if we have a Kanji like 男 because it only has one idea associated with it. Every time you see 男 it is contributing the concept of “man”. A Kanji like 高 carries the idea of “tall” as well as “expensive”. Thankfully, context will mostly make it clear which idea is being expressed.
Reading Kanji
I love word puzzles! I especially enjoy cryptograms. Here is an example:
Tumblr media
In the cryptogram above, each number represents a letter. Every time you see that number, you’ll see the same letter above it. Unfortunately… Kanji don’t work this way.
Most Kanji have at least 2 ways that they can be read - with on’yomi readings and with kun’yomi readings. Which reading you need to use will depend on the Kanji and the surrounding characters. In the 4 words with 男 you can see that sometimes it is read as だん and other times as おとこ. This is a consequence of mixing Chinese characters with pre-existing Japanese words and ideas.
How Native Speakers Learn Them
Elementary school students learn a set number of Kanji each year from 1st to 6th grade.
1st - 80 characters 2nd - 160 characters 3rd - 200 characters 4th - 202 characters 5th - 193 characters 6th - 191 characters
They do writing and reading drills almost everyday! The thing that I love about Kanji is that the amount of words you can use increases exponentially with the more characters you learn. With 80 characters alone, you wouldn’t believe how many words 1st graders can make and write!
By no means am I saying that you have to learn Kanji in the same way and order that they do. (After all, they are hearing Japanese words all day, everyday. Plus, they are getting gently corrected at home and at school.) However, if done right, learning even 3 to 5 characters a day will increase your vocabulary by an incredible amount!
Why Kanji Are Important
Technically, you COULD learn Japanese words by sound only and stick to Hiragana and Katakana. But if you plan on texting with Japanese friends or reading anything not aimed for elementary kids, then you’re going to be up Schitt’s Creek. 😉
Take a look at this paragraph about karaoke:
Tumblr media
I can read that, but it’s annoying actively looking for / thinking about the end of one word and the beginning of the next. A mix of Kanji, Hiragana, Katakana and numbers actually make paragraphs EASIER to read. This is just 1 reason Kanji are helpful.
Kanji may seem daunting at first, but learning vocabulary actually helps you learn Kanji better. I recommend thinking about each character as a flashcard. On the front you have the character, and on the back you have keywords, nuance, and its readings.
Tumblr media
Nuance is very important because sometimes 2 Kanji may have the same or similar keywords but differ slightly. For example, the following 2 characters may be / are easily confused by beginners:
温 keyword: warm
暖 keyword: warm
Both of them carry the idea of “warmth” but the nuance is different. 温 is warmth that you feel when you touch / hold something while 暖 is ambient warmth. Think of the temperature in a room, or outside in the spring. When you learn a character, knowing information like this will prevent confusion down the line.
Conclusion
There you have it! I hope that reading this post has given you a glimpse into the vast world of Kanji. Yes, there will be difficult times in the Japanese road ahead but believe me, it’s worth it. I’m so glad that I jumped into the “Kanji pool” early on. It has helped me understand certain words and concepts, as well as the culture much better. I hope you have a similar experience! Good luck!
Rice & Peace,
– AL (アル)
👋🏾
*English has several logograms too! An English-speaker knows what the following symbols represent without needing any words:
&, $, ¢, @, °, #, £, and €

Part 9: Knows what no one else knowing.
The shopping center was glowing with the glow of holiday lights. In the middle of the center, in the main lobby, stood a large Christmas tree. It was decorated with golden ornaments and shone with white garlands that almost exactly resembled snowflakes. The shops in the mall were crowded with people who mostly came to buy gifts.
You met Suyong in a leather accessories store. She was looking for a gift for her mother.
You didn't know what exactly you wanted to give your parents, so you decided to just shop around to find the right thing. Suyong suggested that after shopping, we go to a coffee shop and have a cup of hot chocolate, which she also loves.
After walking several floors and visiting almost 20 stores, you finally bought your gifts. You settled on a wonderful Sulwhasoo facial care set and a Pandora bracelet for your mother. You bought Korean honey liqueur for your father, which he loved, and new cufflinks. You also bought Lindt chocolates and Korean sweets (hangwa) for both parents. Your mom just loves them.
You were surprised to see that Jungkook transferred 600 thousand to your card instead of 300 thousand as you asked. Because you need to return this money, you were hesitating now. Should you return 300 or 600?
The coffee shop Suyong suggested you go to is on the 5th floor. You took a table by the window to enjoy the view of snowy Seoul.
You placed your order and waited for it to be ready, discussing the gifts and things you saw while shopping.
You ordered a dessert to go with the chocolate, but Suyong didn't want any, saying she wasn't hungry. You looked at her suspiciously. She's starving herself again, trying to lose weight. She already looks like a codfish and still wants losing weight.
"Maybe you should order a piece of cake or a pastry." - You insisted. Suyong shakes her head in denial.
"No. I've already gained two kilograms since my mom came. She feeds me like I have no bottom in stomach." - Your friend jokes. You laugh. "So why are you late? You said you were going to take the subway." - Suyong asked. You froze when you heard the question. You instantly remembered why you were late. That amazing car sex you had with Jungkook was so worth it. But no one can know about it. So lying became your constant companion.
"I left the house and almost at the subway station I remembered that I forgot my money. I had to go back for it." - You made it up as you went along.
"But you paid with your card in all the stores!" - Suyong pointed out. You realized you were being silly. Surely you paid with your card because you didn't have any cash.
"Yes. But when I was almost home, I got a call from Jungkook who said he could put the money on the card." - You got out of it. Suyong didn't seem to believe your lie. Her eyes said so. She shook her head as if she understood that this was possible, but her slightly polite smile spoke of disbelief. She pretended to believe it, but you could tell she didn't.
"Jungkook is a good friend!" - Suyong said, as if mocking. But you were outraged. That she had never borrowed money from a friend? What was the big deal?
"He's a good guy, but he's an ass. I've known him since I was a kid." - You say, and for some reason your heart is beating faster.
"Yes, I remember." - Your friend recalls. "What does he do for a living?" - She suddenly wants to know.
"He works for a security company or something." - You answer, trying to be indifferent. But for some reason, you don't want to talk about Jungkook right now.
They know each other, but they've only seen each other a few times, when Jungkook picked you up from the university. Suyong never said you anything about him or asked about him. But now you wonder why she's suddenly asking questions about him.
Fortunately for you, a waitress came to table and brought your cake. When she left, you froze when you noticed Doohoon standing behind her, choosing a place to sit. You hurriedly turned your back so he wouldn't see you.
"Shit!" - You cursed. Suyong didn't understand why you were acting like this.
"Y/N what happened?" - She tried to find out why you were hiding. "Did you see someone?"
"Shhhh!" - You hissed. "Don't call me by my name. I just noticed someone I know who I didn't want to..." - You were about to say that you didn't want to meet him, but you heard Doohoon's voice behind you.
"Wouldn't want to see him." - He said looking at your back. You froze, not believing that he had noticed you. But you didn't have much choice. You had to at least say hello. You turned to meet his black eyes and that stupid smile that annoys you so much. "I know you're mad at me, but I'm glad I met you." - He says. "Hi, candy."
"Hi." - You say, annoyed. "Don't call me that!" - Doohoon made his smile even wider.
"Can I join to you?" - Your former friend asks hopefully. Of course you say ‘no’. You don't want to talk to that sneaky idiot.
"No." - You say. You hear Jungkook's voice in your head telling you not to meet with Doohoon. "This is a private meeting and you'll be in the way. I'll see you another time." - You say. And then you quickly add. "I mean never."
Doohoon laughs at your words. He looks over at Suyong as if to ask if she's okay with it. Your friend, who had been watching the two of you the whole time, was just puzzled. And when Doohoon noticed her, she blushed.
"My friend is a little angry at me. But I want to earn her forgiveness. So if you let me seats...?" - Doohoon turned on his charm. You almost threw up when you heard what he was saying and how he was saying it.
Suyong didn't mind and shyly invited him to the table. Doohoon sat down on the couch next to her, smiling gratefully. You were outraged.
"I'm not your friend. And we haven't been friends for a long time. I don't understand what you're trying to do?" - You asked.
"Don't be so aggressive. We can just sit and talk." - Doohoon says. Two cups of hot chocolate and a cappuccino for Dohun are brought to you. You take an irritated sip of the chocolate.
"I already told you that we are not going to talk. That's it." - You say dryly as the waitress walks away from the table.
"So did Jungkook tell you everything?" - Doohoon asks. You glance at Suyong for a moment, who simply doesn't understand what's going on or what you’re talking about. You exhale nervously.
"Now is not the time to discuss this." - You say, hinting at your friend's presence.
"If you need to talk, I can step away!" - Suyong offers, already trying to stand up.
"No." - You quickly stop her. "It's not you who should leave, it's him. Because he's the only one who's not a welcome companion here." - You glare at Doohoon and catch his irritated look. But he just smiles, not wanting to show his true emotions. This piece of shit!
"My name is Doohoon. I'm Y/N's friend from school." - Doohoon ignores your words and turns to Suyoung.
"Suyong." - Your friend introduces herself. You're nervous that this idiot won't leave your side. And how strange it is that you're seeing him twice this week. Knowing what he did to Jungkook, he annoys the hell out of you.
"Why are you here?" - You interrupt the acquaintance.
"What do you mean? Why am I sitting here?" - Doohoon pretends not to understand. You smile at him tightly.
"How did you find me?" - You ask, knowing without a doubt that he was not here by chance.
"I came in for coffee. I love this place. And I noticed you turning away. First I thought that it’s not you. But when I heard your friend call your name, I realized it was you." - Doohoon assures you. You look at him skeptically, but it sounds like the truth. You stop talking and turn to the window, not wanting to continue the conversation. Doohoon turns to Suyong and asks about her. They strike up a small talk.
You can feel the tension because of Doohoon's presence. But he's not doing anything wrong.
You promised Jungkook that you wouldn't contact him. And you're keeping that promise. This chance meeting is not your fault.
You're sitting at the table drinking hot chocolate, which is delicious. And that's the only thing that doesn't disappoint you. Suyong is actively communicating with Doohoon. You see how shy she is and how she keeps touching own hair. She seems to like your ex-friend.
It's not surprising. He is an attractive and masculine man who has good taste in clothes. He has a good accent and communicates well. But you won't let her get close to him. You already know his rotten nature.
Suyong asks to leave the table to go to the restroom. You are left alone with Doohoon. You are determined to go home when Suyong returns.
"Hey, candy." - Doohoon calls you gently. You respond immediately.
"Call me that name again and I'll punch you in the face." - You threaten. Doohoon just laughs. He likes it when you threaten him, knowing for sure that you won't do it. At least not in a coffee shop.
"Jungkook told you everything, and now you hate me even more." - Doohoon states.
"You're a big brain." - You say sarcastically. "How am I supposed to feel about a coward who betrayed his best friend?" - You almost shout. But Doohoon is looking at you.
"Did he tell you how I set him up?" - Doohoon asks, wanting to know what you know.
"Yeah. All that bullshit with the illegal fights. I know everything. Jungkook almost got killed there. How could you leave him?" - You look at Doohoon, your eyes soaked in anger. He is silent for a moment and then says.
"I didn't want my father to know that I was doing this. That's why I ran away. I had no choice but to set him up like that. But I knew that the person who offered us to fight in his club would not touch Jungkook. I knew he liked him." - Says Doohoon, twirling his cup nervously.
"If I were Jungkook, I would have beaten the hell out of you. Why didn't you agree to this 'super fight'? You would have gotten 10 million if you had survived actually!" - You say. Doohoon freezes and the cup stops fidgeting under his hand.
"Jungkook got 10 million?" - Doohoon asks. You don't know if you should tell him. You feel like you've already said too much.
"After he got out of the hospital. The bastard who sent him to the hospital paid him back." - You said.
Doohoon ponders your words. So Jungkook lied about getting paid for the "super fight." Because Doohoon probably knows that Jungkook didn't receive any money. On the contrary, he became a debtor to that person because of Doohoon's actions. That's how he set Jungkook up. He owed money to Namjoon and brought Jungkook to him to fight in illegal fights. So Namjoon could make money from betting. Doohoon also earned money, even though he owed Namjoon a large sum of money. The day he was expelled from the university, he told his father everything. And he ordered him to fly to the United States to study there. And to put the debt on Jungkook. The father set it up and put it into Namjoon's head that Jungkook would be able to pay off the debt instead of his son.
That's why Jungkook works for the “RUN NOIR” clan. He is Namjoon's attack dog who still hasn't paid off his debt. And he will be in his power for a long time because of it. Doohoon will do everything to make sure that Jungkook finally stops bothering him. And Y/N is also part of the plan. He'll take her away too, make Namjoon disappointed in his loyal dog, and destroy Jungkook for good.
"Okay. You had a fight with Jungkook. Why did you stop talking to me?" - You ask Doohoon. It's a question that's been on your mind for four fucking years.
"I know you. You would have been for Jungkook. You're always for him. That's why I stopped answering you, because if you knew what I did, you would stop talking to me yourself. And then I went to America." - Doohoon says sadly. You don't believe him one iota.
"You decided everything for me. You don't know what I would do. But you did what you did. I didn't know what happened between us until the last moment. I was angry with you because you were the first to leave me. You could have been friends with me..." - You exhaled. "What you did to Jungkook was a real eye-opener for me. But I thought the three of us were really friends... Friends don't do that. That's what real bastards do." - You said angrily and noticed that Suyong approaching.
She returned to the table. Suyong sensed that there was incredible tension between the two of you. You were silent when she came.
"What did you talk about?" - Suyong asks. You're about to tell her that you have to leave when Doohoon replies.
"We were talking about Jungkook. You know, the three of us were friends. Y/N was telling me about their life together." - Doohoon says, and you freeze. Your eyes are fixed on the cup of chocolate and you can't move. He knows you're living with Jungkook. But how did he find out? Did he follow you?
"You live with Jungkook?" - Suyoung asks you, who for obvious reasons also didn't know that your new apartment you told her about was Jungkook's. You don't pay attention to Suyoung and look at Doohoon. He gives a fake shriek and can't help but smile a terrible, fake smile.
"Oh. Your friend didn't know you were living with your best friend?" - He asks. "But why hide it? Jungkook did the honorable thing. He offered to live together. Apartments in Seoul are really expensive." - Doohoon says, and your blood runs cold. This bastard knows so much. What else could he know? He's really dangerous, just like Jungkook said. You look at Doohoon and you don't recognize him. He's not the person you were friends with at school. You hear your inner voice screaming at you to run away. You grab your things and gifts and stand up abruptly.
"Come on, Suyong, we're leaving." - You tell her. She watches you for a moment and then gets up from the table as well. Doohoon is left sitting alone.
"Wait." - Suyong says, trying to get her wallet. "I need to pay for the chocolate." - You put your hand on hers and stop her from taking out the money.
"My former 'friend' is treat us drinks." - You say and look at Doohoon. He pulls his lips together, looking at you irritated. "Thank you very much. I hope I never see you again. If you come near me again, I'll go to the police and file a harassment report against you. I wish you all the best." - You cut him off and turn on your heel and leave the coffee shop.
You quickly walk to the elevator to the first floor. You are shaking with anger and fear. Why has Doohoon become so horrible? The worst part of this situation is that you see him trying to communicate with you, but you don’t want. Not after what he did to Jungkook. You don't want to be between two fires. You don't have to because you're already on Jungkook's side, just like Doohoon said. Jungkook is too important to you, so you're only going to listen to him and his words.
What scares you is that Doohoon knows you're living with Jungkook and that he asked you to live together. But how did he know? Who could have told him this information? To put it bluntly, only you two knew about it. Jungkook couldn't have told him personally, because you certainly didn't say anything.
The blood is pulsing in your head. You want to get home as soon as possible. You don't even hear Suyoung's screams as she runs after you, trying to catch up. You only pay attention to her when you stop at the elevator.
"Are you okay?" - Your friend asks and tries to catch her breath.
"Yes, Suyong. I'm going home now. I have some things to do." - You answer, trying not to let the trembling in your voice show.
"I'm sorry I invited that man to the table. You don't like him." - She says with regret. You smile to reassure her.
"Everything is fine. I never meting him again." - You assure she. The elevator stops near you and you get on.
You stand close to Suyong because the elevator is almost full.
"So you live with Jungkook. Are you dating him?" - Your friend whispers in your ear.
"No. We've been best friends since childhood. We're like brother and sister." - You also whisper. Suyong smiles.
"Why didn't you tell me?" - You asks.
"Because of that you just asked. Because everyone immediately thinks he's my boyfriend. But he's just a friend. We didn't tell anyone because I asked. We get misunderstood all the time." - You answer. The elevator descended quickly and you got off, and Suyong continued.
"I don't know. Maybe it's because everyone sees how you guys talk. You're two constantly flirting. And you always look at each other in love." - Suyong suggests. You are taken aback by her words. Do you really behave like that?
"What the flirting, what the love look?" - You protested. "What are you talking about, girl?" - Suyong laughed at your reaction. You overreacted.
"What? I've seen Jungkook a couple of times and it's enough to know he wants to fuck you." - She says with a laugh. "I actually thought he was your boyfriend. I thought you called him a friend as a joke." - You stop in the middle of the road and stare dumbfounded at your friend. She notices that you have disappeared somewhere and turns to you. You stare at her for a long few seconds and keep walking.
"Suyong. Don't say that again. He doesn't want to fuck me..." - You say, but in reality it's already happening. "And we'll never go out with him because we're completely different. Besides, we've been friends since childhood. It's like meeting your brother."
"Well, everyone says that, and then they get married and live happily ever after." - Suyong argues. You shake your head. It seems hopeless to explain this to anyone.
Tumblr media
You came home when the sun had already set. The apartment was a mess because you had left your clothes scattered when you left, and there were dirty dishes in the sink. You had left them out in the morning and planned to wash them later, but you forgot because you went to meet Suyong.
You changed into shorts and a T-shirt.
You walked out into the living room from your room and assessed the state of the mess you had made. Sometimes you're careless, but you always clean up after yourself. So before Jungkook sees what you've done to the apartment, you have to clean up quickly.
The first thing you wanted to do was to clean up the scattered things. Among them were Jungkook's things lying on the couch and chairs. You picked up one of his T-shirts and smelled his perfume. A pleasant citrus scent, with notes of lemongrass. You pick up his T-shirt and press it to your nose. You take a deep breath, enjoying the scent.
Jungkook. He’s covered in this flavor. You like this smell so much. Something warm arises inside you when you stand there with Jungkook's T-shirt in your hands and smell it incessantly. You want his scent to be present with you. So you take off your T-shirt that you wore earlier and pull on Jungkook's.
It's big on you and long. It covers your shorts, and it looks like you're not wearing them. The aroma fills your nostrils and you feel instantly calm. All your anxious thoughts are replaced by thoughts of Jungkook. They make you feel safe and peaceful.
You continue cleaning and you get so addicted that you clean the entire apartment to a shine, leaving no room untouched.
You sit down on the couch and feel your whole body buzzing. You lie on the back of the couch with your head on it. You're feeling fatigue. Thinking about what time it is, you pick up your phone and see a text message in cocoa talk from an unknown number. You open it and see the text message.
"Candy, don't push me away, I want to be friends with you like we used to be. I’m first who turned away from you, but I was afraid you would hate me. I want to earn your forgiveness. How can I do that? 🥺"
You block his number. Anxiety takes over again. You're annoyed that this idiot doesn't understand that you don't need his friendship. Your head is bursting with unnecessary worries. You also wonder if you should tell Jungkook that he knows you're living together. Jungkook will probably be angry. You don't know what to do. Should you just ignore Doohoon?
You gather the last of your strength and get off the couch. It's 11pm. Jungkook is still not here and it's not known when he will be. You decide that you need to take a shower. But before you go to your room to get your things, you hear the sound of the combination lock.
Jungkook enters the apartment. Your reaction to him has been the same lately. Your pulse races every time you see your friend. This momentary excitement passes when you see his tired smile.
"Hey." - He says as he takes off his jacket. He's back in his bomber jacket and tight-fitting pants with a few pockets. His image is completely black as always. You remember his image in the suit. They are two completely different men.
"Hi. You're here before I'm even asleep, that's a success." - You joke. Jungkook smiles slightly and sits down on the couch. He looks very tired. His eyes blink slowly, and his posture is too relaxed. You sit down next to him. "Are you okay? Are you alive?" - You ask cautiously. Jungkook looks at you for a moment. Then he gently wraps his arms around your waist and pulls you close. He hugs you, resting his head on your chest. You hug him back.
"Now alive." - He says. And again, that fucking butterfly feeling in your stomach. What is he doing to you? He hugs you even tighter and you notice the warmth of his body and the strength of his arms.
It feels good to be in his arms and feel him too. You have really missed him all these days. But you don't understand why your heart threatens to jump out of your chest every time you see Jungkook.
The silence between the two of you drags on. Jungkook doesn't seem to mind just being silent and being in your arms. You feel his breath on your chest.
You wonder what to do next. Has your warmth been enough for him? You want to ask him something to distract him, but your thoughts are completely empty. You are enjoying this position too.
Suddenly, Jungkook moves away, but only a few centimeters. He looks at your breasts and then pulls away.
"Is that my T-shirt you're wearing?" - He says seriously. You're embarrassed. You've completely forgotten that you're wearing his clothes. And without his permission.
"Uh... yes, it is. I put it on because, you know, it was lying here on the couch. I didn't want to go into the room to change. I wanted to start cleaning right away..." - You were making it up as you went along. Jungkook was smiling defiantly. You were confused.
"And how often do you put on my clothes when they are scattered?" - Jungkook asked with the same smile.
"No. I don't really wear your clothes. I actually thought it was mine. I have a similar one..." - You try to sound convincing.
Jungkook grabs the edge of your T-shirt and pulls it up slightly. You freeze.
"It looks so good on you." - He lowers his voice. "If you like it, you can wear my shirts." - He allows. You give him a quick glance. His eyes scan you, running over your body.
"Thanks." - You say shyly. Jungkook is going crazy at your tone. Why does your shyness turn him on so much? Should he hold back? He's already fucked you today, but what's to stop him from doing it again?
Jungkook grabs you and pushes you against the couch. You're trapped. Your heart is beating somewhere in your throat and a fire instantly starts in your stomach.
"Jungkook..." - You protest very weakly.
"I think this is my favorite one you're wearing, that’s why I think you should take it off..." - He says into your neck, kissing it slowly. He reaches under your shirt and pulls it up. You're not wearing a bra, and it instantly makes Jungkook harden. You moan sensually, closing your eyes, from his gentle kisses. His closeness becomes like air. You wonder how you ever lived without it.
"I can take it off if it's your favorite." - You barely say, enduring the sweet torment created by his lips, which are already putting a hickey in your chest.
"My favorite." - He whispers against your chest. And you're not sure if he's talking about the T-shirt. You feel your underwear getting wet.
He finishes with your breast and lifts his head to you. Your cheeks are slightly flushed. Your lips are slightly open and your breathing is fast and heavy. He reaches higher and in a moment his lips meet yours. His tongue instantly penetrates your mouth and finds yours. These feelings he evokes in you become a drug. You feel high every time he kisses you. His lips are soft, his tongue is skillful, and it's a perfect combination.
"Kook..." - You say when you have to pull away from each other because you're out of air.
"Yes, baby." - He replies as he climbs back down around your neck again. He can't wait taste that sweet skin.
"I have something to tell you." - You say. You don't think it's the right time to say it. But you know you have to tell him. Probably better to let him finish what he started, but the anxiety in the back of your mind urges you to speak.
"Speak up." - Jungkook urges you.
"I met Doohoon today." - You say and Jungkook abruptly stops kissing you. His gaze turns angry.
"Where did you meet him?" - Jungkook asks, looking at you intently. You realize you have to tell him.
"At Lotte. We meet at the coffee shop where I went with Suyong." - Jungkook stares at you for a moment longer and stands up, depriving you of his warmth. You lower your shirt and sit up straight.
"I told you not to see him." - Jungkook says in a serious tone.
"It was an accident. I was trying to hide from him, but he noticed me." - You say, making excuses. "And then he brazenly sat down at our table without being invited." - You said. You hesitated to tell him that Doohoon knew they were living together. Jungkook was angry, if you told him he might get even angrier. But you're scared that there is a possibility that Doohoon might have been following you.
"Why didn't you just go?" - Jungkook asks another question. You did leave, but a little later. Although Jungkook is right, you should have go right away.
"He wanted to acquaintance with Suyong. If I was alone, I would have gone for sure." - You assure your friend. "But he said something before we left." - You are nervous. You look at your fingers.
"What?" - Jungkook demands an answer.
"He knows we're living together. He even knows that you suggested it. I don't know how, because it's only the two of us who know. You didn't tell anyone, did you?" - You look from your fingers to Jungkook when you don't hear his answer. His face is pure rage. His eyes are angry, his eyebrows are drawn together. He stands up quickly and grabs his phone, which was previously lying peacefully on the table in front of the TV.
Jungkook walks over to the window and stares at the night landscape outside, dialing someone at the same time.
"Hey. Check if my house is being watched. And text me immediately." - He orders someone. You panic. Has Doohoon really stooped to that level? Why would he do that?
"Kook..." - You call out to him. You sound panicked. He turns and looks at you with a distant look. As if forgetting that you are here. "What's going on? Why would Doohoon want to follow you? Or me?" - You ask. Jungkook approaches you and pulls you into a hug. He is silent, and you are again the one who knows nothing about what is happening.
"You don't have to worry about anything. I'll take care of everything. That piece of shit won't bother you anymore." - Jungkook promises you.
"Is it really that complicated between you two?" - You ask, tilting your head to look into Jungkook's eyes. He looks at you and doesn't know what to say. Things are really complicated between Jungkook and Doohoon. Jungkook has put up with a lot of his nonsense, but if he starts acting out using you, it will be the end of him.
Jungkook boils over with anger. This fucking sucker is out of line. If he lays a finger on you, Jungkook will destroy him.

IMPORTANT: Regarding the current PMoon/LCB situation, KJH's history of poor employee treatment
(Edit: Please check my reblog for more employee reviews that were posted to the forum within the past few days.)
As of July 27, 2023 (3 PM PDT), the official LCB Twitter account still hasn't posted English or Japanese translations of the message by Project Moon CEO (Kim Jihoon) announcing their decision to fire story CG artist Vellmori.
In the subsequent chaos following her unjust expulsion, I've seen a significant number of the global fanbase pity KJH/PM and assume that firing Vellmori was a poor but well-intentioned response to protect PM employees.
However, PMoon has long been a less than ideal place to work for both outside contractors (see testimonies from the WonderLab and Leviathan artists) as well as their full-time employees.
Below is a workplace review of Project Moon from September 2022 by a current employee, which talks in depth about KJH's regular temper tantrums in the office and subpar treatment of the PMoon team.
Translation by me, a native Korean speaker. (source here)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This review was posted to a forum that can ONLY be accessed if you have a verified and active employee email address to a game company. While the forum is anonymous, it requires you to reveal your place of employment, which lends credence to its validity.
This, combined with other testimonies, has led people to believe that KJH will not recant his decision, as there's credible evidence that documents his temperamental outbursts, one-sided contract cancellations, and continued refusal to provide a healthy work environment.
TL;DR—Do not pity Kim Jihoon. This situation is shocking, yes—but it is no excuse to coddle a man who refused to protect an innocent employee of his company (knowing it could very well mean death of her future career) just to appease violent misogynists.

Writing Notes: Memory
Tumblr media
Memory - a single term that reflects a number of different abilities: holding information briefly while working with it (working memory), remembering episodes of one’s life and our general knowledge of facts of the world among other types.
Memory involves 3 processes:
Encoding information – attending to information and relating it to past learning
Storing – maintaining information over time
Retrieving – accessing the information when you need it
The information processing model of memory is a useful way to represent how information from the world is integrated with the knowledge networks of information that already exist in our minds.
Sensory Memory
The part of the memory system in which information is translated from physical energy into neural signals.
This is part of the encoding process.
We receive information from our environment and we must perceive it and attend to it before it can move to our working memory.
Short-Term Memory (working memory)
The part of the memory system in which information can be temporarily stored in the present state of awareness.
This type of memory is limited to 7 items of capacity and 7 to 30 seconds of duration on average.
Long-Term Memory
The part of the memory system in which information can be permanently stored for an extended period of time.
It has a large to unlimited capacity and a duration that may last from minutes to a lifetime.
Semantic Memory
The type of long-term memory about general facts, ideas, or concepts that are not associated with emotions and personal experience.
Episodic Memory
A type of long-term memory about events taking place at a specific time and place in a person’s life.
This memory is contextualized (i.e., where, who, when, why) in relation to events and what they mean emotionally to an individual.
MEMORY FAILURES
Can occur at any stage, leading to forgetting or to having false memories.
The key to improving one’s memory is to improve processes of encoding and to use techniques that guarantee effective retrieval.
Good encoding techniques include:
relating new information to what one already knows,
forming mental images, and
creating associations among information that needs to be remembered.
The key to good retrieval is developing effective cues that will lead the person back to the encoded information.
Classic mnemonic systems can greatly improve one’s memory abilities.
MEMORY & CULTURE
Many of our memories are personal and unique to us but cultural psychologists and researchers have found that the average age of first memories varies up to two years between different cultures.
Researchers believe that enculturation and cultural values influence childhood memories.
Example: The way parents and other adults discuss, or don’t discuss, the events in children’s lives influences the way the children will later remember those events.
Mullen (1994) found that Asian and Asian-American undergraduates’ memories, on average, happened six months later than the Caucasian students’ memories.
These results were repeated in a sample of native Korean participants, only this time the differences were even larger.
The difference between Caucasian participants and native Korean participants was almost 16 months.
Hayne (2000) also found that Asian adults’ first memories were later than Caucasians’ but Maori adults’ (native population from New Zealand) memories reached even further back to around age three.
These results do not mean that Caucasians or Maoris have better memories than Asians but rather people have the types of memories that they need to get along well in the world they inhabit – memories exist within cultural context.
Example: Maori culture is focused on personal history and stories to a greater degree than American culture and Asian culture.
Individualistic & Collectivist Cultures
Differences in memory could also be explained by the values of individualistic and collectivist cultures.
Individualistic cultures tend to be independently oriented with an emphasis on standing out and being unique.
Interpersonal harmony and making the group work is the emphasis of collectivist cultures and the way in which people connect to each other is less often through sharing memories of personal events.
In some cultures, personal memory isn’t nearly as important as it is to people from individualistic cultures.
