Today, April 19, 2023, is world Simpsons day, congratulations on your day. The best animated program on television, despite its current lousy seasons. However, I still love the Simpsons because I grew up with them and many animated series and memes would not exist without the Simpsons. Long live the Simpsons. 😋❤️

Tim 100% has his very own specific music taste. Let me describe it like this,

Around most of the batfam, and most of young justice, he listens to emo and grunge music. Picture bands like Green Day, Nirvana, My Chemical Romance, Falling in reverse, Gorillaz, etc.

When he’s around people he’s more comfortable with, he lets the alt facade fade a little. Around people like Kon, Dick, Bart, Stef and Cassie, he listens to more pop music. Tyler, The Creator, Kali Uchis, Steve Lacy, Frank Ocean, etc.

When he’s alone, he listens to trashy early 2000’s pop and white girl music. I’m talking Katy Perry, Ke$ha, Black Eyed Peas, the pussycat dolls, Nelly Furtado, etc.

The only two people who know of Tim’s obsession with that specific genre of pop are Kon, either because of his superhearing or because Tim let him in on the secret after they started dating, and Dick. He walked into his room and heard it playing, causing him to throw his phone out the window and break it.

School threat/discord kid - This guy genuinely has like no friends & never talks, hair be greasy and moderates discord servers like the navy. Makes "dark humor" jokes and when someone says something he says shit like, "relax liberal"

Mad Dog, Tendou (SORRYYY I LOVE HIM IT JUST FITS) Tsukishima lowk, kind of Kenma maybe besides the no friends part

TikTok cornball - UNIRONICALLY says things in tt comments sections like, "L + Ratio" "that tuff buddy😹" "Im Himothy" "average woman 😹". Thinks that these terms and refrences are so fcking funny: "what the sigma" "tiktok rizz party" "skibiddi toilet" "fanum tax" "GYATTT".

"Opium" fashion demon / fashion snob - Makes ootds and fit checks ALL THE DAMN TIME. Truly believes he is superior to everyone because his fashion taste and wardrobe. Walks around acting like hes on the runway or something. Thinks carti is king and sags his pants. Hes also tries to act "nonchalant"🤢 cause hes just "too cool" for everyone ig. "Kai he/him ig" LMAO

Kuroo, Kageyama, Iwaizumi, Osamu

Pretentious fuck - Lowk same breed as the last one but this is the guy to see a girl where a Nirvana shirt and say, "Name AT LEAST 3 songs, please, like genuinely". And makes you feel actually stupid and unworthy LMAO. He thinks deftones is under ground. Says things like "what do yall know about be 'quiet and drive far away by deftones' " As if thats not like one of their most popular songs??? Lowk harasses people about their Spotify wrapped.

Akaashi lowk, Tsukishima, Kageyama, Atsumu

Hornball - Bro is a freak and makes it very known. He posts on his public story literal p0r/n, and captions it things like "need this atm😩" or "mood🥴". LIKE BROOO ACTUALLY STOP WE ARE UNCOMFORTABLE. He has too many damn highlight of himself on instagram too.

Yamamoto, Nishinoya, Terushima, Kuroo

"Broken" emo - This guy goes on snapchat and post on his story a black screen with the caption "logging off for a bit, if you need me text my number" or "dhmu". WE DO NOT CARE ONG. When he was in middle school he watched and reposted bart simpson emo edits, and even attmepted to make his own emo corn ball edits". Says things like "all girls are the same" when his girlfriend in middle school left him.

Songs I Like, #2: Gryffin - MAGIC (ft. babyidontlikeyou)

Has the amazing energy of the old Gryffin (no offense to his most recent album). Apparently he played it at his Red Rocks show in October, which I definitely would've tried to be at if not for the wonderful birth of my daughter.

I can't wait until she can really enjoy music. I wonder what her relationship with it will be like, if songs alone can make her feel the whole spectrum of human emotion, from tears to euphoria. Once at Coachella I was vibing *intensely* to Epik High's great set, and a friend of a friend asked if I was rolling. But I wasn't under the influence of anything.

Somehow music can activate my brain such that I feel like every nerve ending is firing off at once into some sort of hypersonic nirvana. It almost does feel like a drug at times, the way I can just lie in bed, listen to music, and feel euphoria for hours. When I read it that does sound troublingly like addict behavior.

Anyway, this song makes me feel a form of euphoria. Today I listened to it on the BART ride to work, and the bass came in *right* as the door to my stop opened. I almost flew out the train and up the stairs. What a feeling.

I do hope Claire has that same embrace. She does react quite strongly to music even at 5-months-old, with Beyoncé's "TEXAS HOLD 'EM" having an amazing soothing influence on her. That song has honestly saved our life. There have been dozens of times already when she is crying, we play that song, and she stops crying within seconds.

Whether in her car seat, having boogers aspirated out of her nose, or having medicine syringed into her mouth, Beyoncé always saves us. We honestly owe her so much; I think we would have lost our sanity a long time ago without that song.

The only other song that works is the NARUTO Main Theme, oddly enough (which only works when TEXAS HOLD 'EM doesn't work).

I think this bodes well for her relationship with music. I can't wait until she, Iona, and I can all dance together. It'll be magic.

Another Dumb Headcanons Thing

Tim is very good at dissociating. Like, alarmingly good. No I am not taking this from my church kid days why do you ask He started doing it when his parents would bring him to galas and now it’s just a habit of his to drift off when he’s bored.

Damian calls Cass ‘Cassandra’ instead of ’Cain’ because she told him that doesn’t like to be reminded of her father. (Dick is a teeny bit jealous because it took him AGES to get to first name basis)

Duke and Steph are banned from every haunted house in Gotham because of the ‘Chainsaw Incident’.

Jason went through a lot of different phases in his life, and his Spotify playlists will give you whiplash. It will go from Beethoven to Green Day to Nirvana to Olivia Rodrigo to AC/DC to Carrie Underwood because he never takes anything off his playlist.
