Okay so I just watched a video of a boy who once identified as trans still got bottom surgery after he realized he was cis and people were so fucking rude? Like just because this cis dude has a vagina people were calling him transphobic and wishing death upon him.
So this is a reminder that when we as a community advocate for bodily autonomy and gender surgeries that means everyone regardless of gender can do whatever they want with their bodies.
If someone who is cisgender wants top/bottom surgery THEY CAN GET IT. If someone wants facial plastic surgeries that we usually find creepy like buccal fat removal or eye lifts THEY CAN GET IT. And here’s the really controversial one but if someone wants to do things that harm their body like hard drugs or diy mods THEY CAN DO IT!
Because body autonomy isn’t just “I can get bottom surgery to pass” or “I can get an abortion” it’s also all the wild stuff that makes us uncomfortable and that’s okay.

Don't get me wrong, I completely support sex work and recognize it's real work, but I feel like becoming a housewife (or caretaker of some kind) is the best route for most women. Serving men privately instead of publicly is the more stable option, and we should be encouraging young girls to pursue this path over prostitution

You do realize that just saying something is problematic, doesn't actually make it problematic, right? Do you even know what "fridging" is?
Clearly you need a history lesson, and maybe a rewatch of OGSupernatural, because they literally brought Mary back, so it doesn't even count (also, I know your type likes to ignore The Winchesters series, but it is canon and had NO "fridgings" [at least, none of whatever you think "fridging" is])...

i just learned there was a trend in the 20s for removing BUCCAL FAT??? THE FAT IN YOUR CHEEKS???? and then it only died cause people decided it actually looked bad???

why is op so appalled? oh women experimented with what looked best and what was most empowering for them? what horror

Is it not anti-feminist for the surgery to have stopped bceause people thought it "looked bad"? Isn't that imposing beauty standards to restrict women's choices?

starting to loathe the phrase ‘gender affirming surgery’ tbh like yes its a category, get why it exists… yadda yadda…. and yet it feels like setting up a dichotomy of ‘our pure intentioned god honoring surgery’ vs ‘their vile frivolous surgeries’ like there’s some sort of epidemic of surgery georgs that deserve to be shamed or shunned.
yeah it's a frustrating phenomenon i've noticed, where even people who consider themselves trans-positive will critique plastic / cosmetic surgery as being frivolous / self-loathing / socially regressive / anti-feminist and then they'll try to tack on some kind of caveat that exempts the 'approved' procedures done for 'gender affirmation'. in practice this is not an actionable distinction lol, and trying to restrict access to plastic surgery legally or through social shaming mechanisms is going to affect trans people and transition care no matter how you slice it. these kinds of claims also get particularly confused by the fact that there simply is no clean line between procedures sought out for transition and procedures sought out by cis people... eg, how are you going to sit there demonising buccal fat removal or rhinoplasty or lipo as only existing due to social pressure and being therefore abhorrent, without also threatening access to those procedures for True Transsexuals using them for Approved Gender Changes?
and anyway, more fundamentally what actual difference is there between, like, a cis man not feeling manly enough and getting hair plugs or whatever because of that, and a trans man seeking out lipo or top surgery or whatever else as part of his transition care? like what actual line exists here, when gender and gendered beauty standards affect us all, cis people no less than trans, and shape ideas about what the 'normal' and desirable body looks like? and i don't think 'gender-affirming surgery' is some morally pure category either, like what was i seeking out when i got top surgery besides a normative idea of a 'male chest' defined along lines of eurocentric, able-bodied standards just as are any other concepts of 'normal' gender embodiment...? i've said before, but: fundamentally you either think people should have the autonomy to change their own bodies through surgical means if they so choose, or you don't. this isn't something where you can pick and choose because there's no ontological difference between the procedures and justifications you like and the ones you don't lol.

It is so interesting that all the criticisms of femininity on here specifically are literally just aesthetic choices n they only ever mention the Whore side of the madonna whore spectrum as being part of misogynistic gender roles. No country on earth is making you legally wear glittery pink stripper heels. Several countries would actually arrest you if u were to dress like a tiktok bimbo. Lol. Like yas objectification of women has always been a problem but ur honestly focusing on the most superficial shit like buccal fat removal surgery- something most women cant afford anyways.

RE Margot Robbie, here is my conspiracy….if you compare photos, it seems like she at least got buccal fat removal (maybe eye pad adjustment/removal, and a nose job, too but that’s not relevant) when she was younger. Now that it’s some 7-ish years later, the loss of facial fat makes her seem older than she actually is
okay maybe that's it, i thought buccal fat too but what was throwing me off was that i thought she did it RECENTLY but i think your theory makes a lot of sense....

Love how I come back to your blog once every 24-48 hrs to catch up on the Ewan lore, teehee.
A summary of my thoughts:
I wonder if the crumb in the WoF trailer is from when Tom finds out about Douglas' death 🤨
If you cover up his hair and look only at his face (in the WoF photo), he also looks like the character from Stable (same expressions) - sad, stressed etc. Tom does look like he's gone through war so there is that.
Our darling baby boy Ewan is never beating the buccal fat removal allegations (I jest , i jest) but he looks so handsome, so I'm actually on board with him doing whatever he is doing to be this way. Also he is so violently blonde, are blonde people even real ? 👱‍♂️ (I have dark hair lol idk)
I think Ewan will look super distinguished when he's peepaw Otto's (Rhys') age too - I saw a man the other day who had similar features to Ewan, but was in his 50s/60s, what a fox. would smash 100%. 🤤🤤
Tommy B so hot but so sad, I would let him motorboat my tits if that makes him happy 😏 I'd even let him wear his stupid baby sailor costume while doing it hueheu
I'm here to put in a request in advance for a fic for Mike Gavy (Saltburn Ewan) 😜 I want to see that off-putting, weird, nerdy little bitch being seduced and smashed 5 ways to Sunday, mother! 😩 (plz ignore if it's not something you do/ character is underage etc )
Your house looks very nice! It's so cozy. 🌿 I wish my place was cozy like that :(
lol I'm part of your minion brigade now, Max shouldn't be surprised if we stick you in the pea mobile and make off with you! (for reference: )
Tumblr media
lol A day on Tumblr is like a week in real life. I had a day away from the internet yesterday and people have moved on from the World on Fire crumb to an new/old TLK crumb.
I will wait until I've seen Saltburn before I decide whether Michael is a character I'll write for - depends entirely on how "offputting" he really is, haha.

Tf eu #5 rambles under the cut
Obviously, the most important thing is that MY WIFE IS HEEEERE YEAAAAAH. Love how they lettered her name here omg
Tumblr media
She's wonderful!!!! Her bait and switch intro was funny (but please don't actually corner The Girl One into a love interest) and her stunt saving Carly was so cool, I'm glad we're establishing her right. I wish she didn't look so much Like That, but at least DWJ is as willing to deform her for action as anyone else. Her buccal fat removal look makes her look like a skull, which would be cool if it were on puporse, but it's not so. I like the shade they picked for her, is more of a lilac but it looks pink with the rest of the color palette and meshes well with the setting.
This series is really good at the appel to the inner child thing, because I'm like genuinely excited to see the Autobots have the advantage for once!! But ofc, they can't really because the arc ends next issue and they're not gonna have a decisive win until that.
Tho, Optimus and Cliffjumper are carrying the Autobots in regards to being the heroes we root for. I mean, Arcee and Jazz are very cool and that has their appeal, but I do wish once things have settled and they can interact in more situations that aren't just life and death, because so far I feel like we only get a good grasp of who Optimus and Cliffjumper are as individuals, their personalities. I want to see what makes each Autobot unique.
Speaking of, still absolutely eating the Carly and CJ dynamic. She is great and when she said that what does if matter if she's at risk when her family is dead and Spike is in a coma, that reallly got to me. It's unwise, but Cliffjumper relating to her and bringing her to give her a sense of closure it's really good. I think that this kind of bringing the kid character into danger would be because Carly sneaked her way, or because Cliffjumper would disregard orders for the hell of it. But like this feeeling of "I know how she feels and I would want come in her place too" works really well.
Also, I care about Sparky now, lol. Not that at hated him before. I'm not a fan of the first page, as cool at it look, because comparing OP to the US military like the later are the good guy is mmmm... but I'm loving his rapport with Optimus. And also there's how he looks when he's told the generator will give them a decade of power. It's not like "amazing tech woaaah!" It's softer like... this isn't an affluent town, these are people who are used to struggle and they just lost their power source. Ten years of power like that is a godsend that he can hardly believe that will do the whole town a lot of good and he cares about that. Maybe I'm reading too much into it but you know.
And ooooh dear, I was already unwell over Optimus getting his Megatron's canon arm grafted, but I understimated what seein him actually shoot the canon would do to me. I need... several moments.... the fight scenes are pretty gone but this one was particulary brutal. Optimus is really fearsome. And given how he has been so carefully characterized as this bleeding heart figure, seeing him decimating his enemies so efficient is quite something. And by something I mean gap moe. We love to see it.
RIP Reflector, your camera jokes will be missed, but that sequence was amazing lmao
Tumblr media
Love seeing Optimus hit Starscream where it hurts. But OP saying that last time Starscream was cowering from Megatron's canon brings a lot of questions about the sequence of events in the Ark (which we'll get to see in teh special it seems). And I've been wondering if Starscream had something to do with Megatron falling or dissapearing or whatever, this does make it seem more like it and well, if that's the case I wonder how the rest of the Cons will react.
Man, the Autobots really shined this time and I already forgot what I was thinking about the Decepticons!! But hey!!! Thundercracker is here!!!!!!!! My guy!!! Given that his characterization as per toy bio is the guy that's not so sure about the cause, I wonder how he'll take it when he find out what really happened to Skywarp.
Also, are the Constructicons newly made??
Anyway, good stuff.

i think it should be harder to get completely cosmetic facial procedures that have no basis in gender affirmation and/or medical necessity and i’m completely serious. like the plastic surgery industry is actively horrible for self esteem and body issues and individuality
and obviously i’m not talking about people like my sister, who broke her nose as a kid and, as she’s grown, her septum has deviated so much it makes it harder to breathe. that’s a medical necessity that would improve her life. same with gender affirming surgeries. what i’m talking about is all the people lining up to get the latest trend in fucking buccal fat removal because fucking society wants us to look gaunt and haunted and all The Same
obviously there is nuance here and at the end of the day your body is your own and you can make the best decisions for yourself. but like i think especially young, feminine presenting people would benefit so much from taking a step back and critically thinking about why they think they need this so bad

According to instagram, she was born on the 31st of August in 1988. But I wouldn't be surprised if she's lied about that too. She looks so much older considering that she is (or at least she claims to be) 35 years old.
That's the issue with Jess. Either she's much older than she claims she is (which I wouldn't put past her because of the fact that we all know if she's not outright lying about something she's extremely exaggerating) or it's the surgery.
As I've mentioned before, buccal fat removal when it's to that level can age you super quickly. Especially if you aren't keeping up with filler injections to stop your face from being a hollowed-out nightmare. Unless that is the look that she's going for, which is possible. She may very much like looking like a skeletal witch because it seems obvious that anyone who would do that to their face has some level of dysmorphia. I'm also somewhat positive she's had a facelift (if you look at her browline and hairline in older photos compared to now it's higher).
The most recent photos from the other day were by far the worst and most aged version of her yet.
Tumblr media
Not only do we have the creases in her cheeks there that look like wrinkles you'd find on someone who is 60+ years old, but we also have the very visible bone structure of her cheekbones which look unnaturally large compared to the hollowed-out rest of her face. The smile lines are incredibly deep because she's missing as much buccal fat as they could possibly remove.
Her really tiny teeth give the appearance that she's losing teeth or almost toothless which only adds to the aging effect that the drastic surgery has brought on. The stringy wisps of hair hanging out (which seem incredibly pointless for an activity like snowboarding since they'd only get in the way) give the appearance of thinning hair.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here you can see how incredibly large her jaw is, not to mention square. You can see how her cheekbones pop out unnaturally and her actual cheeks are very, very hollowed in. Her chin even looks slightly off-center and if you look at older photos of her (once again) her jawline seems shorter and less pronounced leading to believe she got a jaw implant as well.
The point is that these two photos show what extreme damage she's done to her face and the work has been obviously extensive. If her intent was to look 10 years older than she actually is (and only accelerate the aging process to an extreme level) then the tens of thousands of dollars (at minimum) she paid for this are doing their job. Unfortunately, for her, I doubt the intent was to make her look as old as she comes across as opposed to attempting to extend her youthfulness.
It's honestly disturbing to me how utterly unnatural her face looks. On top of that, if she doesn't want this whole level of mess to get worse than it is now she's going to have to continue to keep fixing it with surgery for the rest of her life and it's only going to start looking more uncanny as time goes on.
I really wish someone could ask her if she's genuinely happy with the results of this surgery because my guess would be that she's not and she's fully aware that it makes her look 50 years old instead of her actual age but when it comes to dysmorphia....who knows? What I do know is that it's getting painful to look at her because her face is anything but natural and humans have a very instinctual revulsion to things like that. Look up the whole "uncanny valley" effect for more information.

I remember everyone was talking about jia tolentino’s instagram face essay as a companion piece to the everyone is beautiful but nobody is horny essay. Have you read it/do you have thoughts on it? Thanks!
i think one of jia tolentino's problems as a writer is that she often seems genuinely unaware of how limited her scope is and how it hampers her efforts to develop any social commentary applicable beyond her socioeconomic milieu. so for example, afaik she's right that a certain plastic surgery look has been popular in recent years with the instagram influencer / model / LA set (w/ some changes over time, like the even more recent popularity of buccal fat removal or that cat-eye facelift situation). but she talks about this as though it's like a universal condition of Modern Womanhood, even after pointing out that it costs a fuckload of money to actually have these procedures done lol. like it's the ig version of how like, legacy media journos are always banging on about what the twitterati think about the latest hbo show. these are like, tiny slices of the population who assume their own experiences are universal because they don't think poor and working class people count the same as them. it's almost funny. anyway i think the most interesting part of the instagram face essay is when she points out that the face in question is often aiming to be white, yet ambiguously 'ethnic'—much to unpack here about beauty standards and the role they play in discourses of racialisation, as well as how they're then shaped by the resultant 'scientific' ideas about phenotypic populations and racial categories. i wish the essay had said more about this. instead it felt like it got stuck on the idea that bodies under neoliberal capitalism are 'assets' to be 'improved' upon—which like, true, but not an entirely new phenomenon and it wasn't an analysis that had much to actually say about capitalism or biopolitics. this is connected to the above issue imo because fundamentally tolentino Doesn't Like Capitalism but also doesn't have much to say about it beyond how it makes Women (a coherent category...) feel.
