Mmmmmm Travis having a basic demonic form and a 'true' demonic form. He doesn't ever use the true form except as an absolute 'someone I care for dearly is going to absolutely die if I don't do this' last resort, partially because he hates looking like a demon if he can help it and partially because he shreds his clothes every time he changes and partially because there's a certain mindset that comes attached to it that really unsettles him deep in his core.

His true form is bigger than his father's and it feels unstable thanks to his human side. It's fucking horrendous, twisting your guts into shapes they don't want to be in, your shape bubbling out into something too big and familiar for you to properly process. You don't know what this one looks like; it's the only skin you have that you don't know inside and out and it terrifies you beyond belief. What dark corners are hidden away in the body handed down to you by the being that killed your mother? You can feel the thoughts, the urges of something you can only define as animal (that's not right that's not even close but it's all the words you have what else could it be) creeping into your mind, and one day will they take over? Will the sharp claws of a thing that is both you and the being who cursed an entire sea to stop your people from escaping and an unknowable third thing too sink into the crevices of your humanity and peel it away from you layer by layer?

Slipping into this skin is different than the rest (is it?).

They all hurt but this is worse than any (are you sure hurt is what that feeling is?).

It feels like sickness, like fever, like freezing to death as you're boiled alive (like coming home, like breaking free, like knowing who you are after ages of wondering?).

Your bones crack like fireworks exploding in dark skies, you can feel them growing sharp and jagged like the clumsy knives you carve from the claws of things that snap at your throat. Every notch in your spine is a knife; every fang; every talon. Your horns creak and ache in the way old wounds twinge with the coming rain, curling like livestock's, branching like the many limbs of a great long-dead tree. You've not enough space in your mouth for so many teeth and tusks, until suddenly you do, and not enough tongues for the voice that rumbles through you like an avalanche, until one splits to two splits to forked ends too. Your legs are like a goat's, like your father's, tri-jointed and hooved and monstrous, and so too is your spiked tail that lashes like a whip of its own accord. You tower over imps, over allies, over the small mountainside cottage you once shared with your mother. Its supports still bear the scars of when this skin was unleashed upon the world while in the warm confines of its safety.

You look down on your father, and his smile is full of knives when he calls you son. The bile and anger that claw up into your mouth taste like hellfire. There are embers burning in your throat and smoke in your lungs when you twist your tongues around the words I was never your son and spit them back at him.

When the moment is over, you collapse back into your human skin despite your wounds, a house of cards folding into slim parts to fit back into the box. You swear never to use this skin again.

if you dont know, the supreme court just allowed Idaho to ban gender affirming care for trans youth !! please send love to any transgender youth you know, especially anyone in Idaho.

this is absolutely terrifying, as a trans youth myself living in a state absolutely filled with right wing individuals, i am scared for me and my fellow trans youth living in ANY state, but especially red states like mine.

i'll reblog this post with anything i can find on how to help stop this, and you should too. please boost this, this affects all trans people, but especially trans youth, who already lack so many rights just for being youth.

'When you are someone that falls outside of categories in so many ways, a lot of things are said to you. And I have had a lot of things said to me.'

In None of the Above, Travis Alabanza examines seven phrases people have directed at them about their gender identity. These phrases have stayed with them over the years. Some are deceptively innocuous, some deliberately loaded or offensive, some celebratory; sentences that have impacted them for better and for worse; sentences that speak to the broader issues raised by a world that insists that gender must be a binary.

Through these seven phrases, which include some of their most transformative experiences as a Black, mixed race, non binary person, Travis Alabanza turns a mirror back on society, giving us reason to question the very framework in which we live and the ways we treat each other.

saw smn make a non binary travis stoll post and now im thinking of they/he travis, EXTREMELY masc presenting, literally no one knows abt the they besides connor, katie, mr d (mr d can smell queerness) and maybe like 3 other people, and connor and katie will call them "they" during head counselor meetings and no one bats an eye then they all double take and theyre like "wut..???"

Travis should get to play around with the intricacies of his shapeshifting sometimes.

He can't change his hair or give himself piercings he doesn't have, but he can change basically everything else. Iridescent scales, cat eyes, tattoo-like markings, he can even make his freckles glow. He can change the shape of his horns too, his favorite shape is antlers like a deer. Maybe he makes his nails different colors like nail polish. He's not genderfluid, doesn't really care about the whole gender thing even after he's taught about it, but on occasion he'll shift into a more feminine or androgynous form.

He doesn't play around with it much after his mom died. He spends most of his time looking entirely human, looking like her son so that when he catches a glimpse of his reflection in the glass of the window or the ice of the nearby lake, he can clearly remember her face. He only shifts when he absolutely needs to, and he always changes back into the skin of his mother's son.

He doesn't shift freely, exactly, when he leaves Gal'ruk, but being around other people makes it feel easier to have a little fun with it when he does need to. In his wolfskin, he plays around with the wolf pups. When he's babysitting Anastasia's kids, he'll shift into Ana herself or one of the guards and act out stories with dramatic flair. He encounters a snake for the first time and when he wakes up a week later in a snakeskin he burrows into the warm sand on the beach and startles passersby when they accidentally wake him from the best nap of his life.

Once, he was relaxed and having a really good day when the itch came and changed into a woman right there, shifting in public for the first time, and started braiding the hair that now went down to his ass that he added 'cause he felt like doing something with his hands. The first person to look over and realize his very open shirt was now very open over a pair of breasts was so startled that he tripped himself and went sprawling with how fast he turned away. Travis got a lecture about Ru'aun modesty standards and asked about his pronouns for the first time, which led to an entire confused discussion that ultimately ended in someone getting tired of delicately going in circles and asking Travis if he goes by she/her in female form. He doesn't shift in public again for at least another year for fear of breaking another unspoken societal rule.

He doesn't ever feel completely right shifting if not for the sake of survival, but he gets more comfortable around other people and occasionally makes his skin changes a little self-indulgent with the aesthetics.

So I did a thing again, and it has led to me creating a silly little Au for Sally Face (again)

All the context I wanna give is that it’s called The Mind Electric Au, it mainly focuses on Travis, and that this Au came to me in a vision when listening to The Mind Electric (hence why that’s the current name for this Au, idk if I’m gonna change it later)

So yeah here are the refs for Travis and Larry, as well as some sketches I made during the creative process (aka I was just talking about it with my brother and we were getting so into it)
