#not me adding to Mk’s trauma.

So remember in the episode “The first Ring” from season 3 where Mei and Redson bump into each other and share a vision of Mei getting the samadhi fire? Okay, well something's been bugging me. (Here's the full image btw. )

First off please appreciate how beautiful the artwork is because damn. Second, what does it mean? While the different color fires could be an homage to how the Samadhi Fire was first created, we would need to see the 5 elements, not the 3 fireballs we see in the photo. (pg. 575)

Therefore, I'm going to assume this is more foreshadowing, since the LMK team is amazing at planting seeds that will only grow within future seasons. (ex. Macaque's relationship with Wukong, the lady bone demon, Mk's nature, etc etc.)

So... I'm going to dissect the hell out of this frame.

The main focus is someone in the center taking in the power of the 3 fireballs. Their form isn't clearly defined, but we can tell it's most likely someone with the standard Lego build: Mk, Mei, Redson, PIF, Tang, etc. I always assumed this was Mei, but I feel like if it was they would have shown it. The next frame shows us Mei with the fire (and once again look at the artwork's beauty.) I have more thoughts on this, but I'll circle back.

Next up we have the balls of fire. I saw somewhere that these might represent the traffic light trio. Although Redson has mostly been sidelined, I like the sound of that theory, so I am going to piggy back off of it.

Mei would obviously be the green color, MK seems to be the yellow fireball, but then that leaves a blue flame. Yet, not one of the traffic light trio has their signature color as blue. The only character that comes to mind is Sandy/ Mo, but he doesn't have the standard Lego build.

Of course, this can be Redson, since the original samadhi fire was blue. However, at no point do I remember that Redson has had any teal/ blue markings. In her flashback, Redson is shown with dark red and black, the same as Mei when she eventually gains the fire.

Unless...

Maybe they character isn’t teal yet..

Ring a bell????

That's right, the blue/teal might actually end up being Mk. Thus, giving each character a flame. (Redson = Red/yellow, Mei = Green, and Mk = Teal)

Doing some color drops, you can see that these colors are very similar, but they aren't exactly the same. That being said, they’re close enough that it raises alarm bells in my mind.

Now, circling back to the main image and the person at its center. I think we might see Mk gain the Samadhi fire next. In the image, there is a red background, green under the person's feet, and blue fire emerging from the person's back.

Personally, I think it might be the framing of a timeline using background, middle ground, and foreground. The red background would be Redson, the person who (in this universe) was born with the fire and created it as a whole. Next up would be Mei, who gains the fire in season 3, but seems to lose it at the end of the fight with the lady bone demon. So, that only leaves the future...

A future that I am personally hoping for...

A solid Johnshi fic set in a pirate au, I'm absolutely obsessed with it. It's a beautiful slow burn, where Johnny is a disgraced bounty hunter who's trying to regain his fame by stealing The Shadow, legendary cursed ship. Ship that so happens to have a certain someone as her captain. Honestly not only I love the romance, but also the friendship between Johnny and Kung Lao and Johnny and Baraka.

Beware that this fic is tagged as explicit, so check the tags carefully

Back There by houndhead - MK fic

Ehy, have you ever thought that Raiden wasn't there when the others went to Outworld to find Shang Tsung? Yeah what if they never told him what happened back there because of good ol' classic trauma? I'm in love with this concept and houndhead explores it in a very interesting way, showing us how each character would act after experiencing what happened at the lab. I also really love how the characters interact with each other, in the last chapter Tanya and Tomas are just perfect.

Raise The Blade (Make The Change) by cherrycola94 - MK fic

A very fun Johnshi fic that's written a little bit like a script, it has some added scene set before the game, some exploration of the canon through a Johnshi lense, ad finally it continues as a post canon, with a very fun story. While I was reading it I could see in my head the scene perfectly, like it was actually a movie. The second chapter has an AMAZING SCENE, like I was so in love that I have a wip of that scene. I should come back and finish it honestly. The new chapter had exactly the kind of scene I was craving for recently, I'm so happy they wrote it!

But I lowered my sword when you held me and swore (you'd stay, stay, stay) by @necromanticzz - MK fic

It's a johnshi fic with a Kenshi pov, where Kenshi has so many walls up doesn't want any help but Johnny just seems to be able to go through them without any problems. Honestly I also advice the other fic necromanticzz wrote about them, the way Kenshi gets chracterized in both of them is just *chef's kiss* perfect, beautiful, amazing. The two fics are just my favourite in the way Kenshi is written, applause all around, love it.

Koffee Shop Kombat by @loujitsushotsoup - MK fic

Because a classic coffee shop au is always needed. We have multiple ships, different writing styles between chaptes, changing with which character's pov we are following, and I love the creativity that was put in it. You maybe saw this post where I drew one of the scenes in this fic, so YOU KNOW that I mean it when i say that I love this fic. And I'm a big sucker for coffee shops as a setting, really love them in real life as well.

Cole's Chilli Recipe by @before-time-had-a-name - Ninjago fic

Another fic where I drew one of the scenes and it's because it deserves it. It's a lostshipping fic, very sweet, very cozy, honestly Cole and Geo make me incredibly emotional everytime and this fic also straight up picked me up and squashed me. I saw in some of the reblogs on my post that people went to check out the fic and I'm so happy about it because they deserve his work to be checked out. And honestly if I can give her more spotlight I will take the chance. Go check out this fic, it's very cool.

Here Comes Casey Jones by Invader_Sam - TMNT MM fic

Very sweet rasey fic that takes place post movie, with the turtles going to highschool and Raph meeting for the first time Casey Jones. What can I say? I just really love Rasey, and I love they're both clearly crushing on each other but they're not really saying it. And the fact that there's no unecessary teenage angst, they just really like each other, and I love that for them ❤

Think Of It As War Paint by less_depresso_more_espresso - TMNT 2012 fic

Another Rasey one, short and sweet, where both of them honestly are giving so much gender in my humble opinion. It's hard to explaning it without just saying all the fic, so we could say it's about them just chilling on a roof.

A Garden Across Our Collarbone by PittedPeaches - LMK fic

I think everyone and their mom already know this fic, and if you don't it would be my honor to talk to you about it. This for me is THE spicynoodle fic, it was one year of my life and honestly at the end of it I cried. This is a soulmate au, where demons sometimes have soulmates, and when that happen it's like they share skin, so they can write stuff on their body and it will appeared on the skin of their soulmate. It mostly starts like a rewriting of seson 1-2-3 by Red son's pov with this new dynamic, and then it becomes a new original timeline. The way this fic is everything to me, every chapter was an incredible experience, I fell in love with this fic at every chapter. So many beautiful scenes, written so beautifully, as I said this fic was 1 YEAR of my life. It was also a very difficult year, and I'm honestly so happy that this fic was there for that time of my life.

Desde el Principio by ShippingMyWorld - Nicktoons United fic

Okay idk If you saw me reblogging a bunch of Nicktoons fanart like two days ago, but just so you know I'm totally going into the rabbit hole of this fandom and I will be lost for a while. Now, this is a Danny Fenton/Manny Rivera fic, the tag has only two fics and both of them are from this writer.

I wish I had this commitment in my life, to just being THE ONLY one creating a specific content for something and still having the motivation of doing it

I read this fic last night, I finished it at 5 a.m. and I do not regret it at all, this was amazing

I actually recommend reading both fics because they are very good, I'm giving a shout out to this one because I think it's the one that made the biggest impact to me personally. ShippingMyWorld you did it, you converted me, I ship this now.

Ghosted. Again. I cannot stress this enough, FUCK real men. I’m done. I’m so sick of all the emotional stress and drama, I’m going back to self shipping full time now. I don’t really know if I’ll share much of it since I’ve had so much hate in the past but I know Bi-Han will always be there for me, I’m still on the fence whether or not to include Syzoth because his dynamic with Bi-Han is so bad so I don’t know. As always I’ll tag my posts so you can blacklist the tags solarbear, solizardbear and/or bi han x sol, bi han x syzoth x sol if you don’t want to see it but like I said I don’t think I’m inclined to share much.

I’m also pretty sure I’m done writing, I’m very sorry if you sent a request and I didn’t get a chance to write it. I’m hesitant to delete or post any of them with an apology note in case I change my mind though, maybe I’m just in a really shit mood with how badly my love life has been? Maybe after a break I’ll feel in love with writing again and go back to it? Maybe I won’t. I don’t know.

I will try and stay active and reblog Bi-Han/Lin Kuei art and smut and stuff daily and still really want to make more friends and chat with you lovelies but I think I need to make tumblr a little less of a priority. I still want to be part of the MK Kommunity though, I just need a break from the creative side. My inbox is still open and you can always send me questions I just can’t write requests anymore. If that changes though I will be sure to let you know.

I want to get back in shape or at least back under a certain number so I need to prioritize physical activity and Denny time, he’s such a good baby and deserves more of my time and attention. I’ll still always been around on Discord and still have no problems adding anyone who wants to be friends on Discord and will still try and be active in my Mortal Kombat server if you need to find me. I just need to put me and my physical and mental health first, so I might not answer immediately or even consistently please know that is not on you at all, that is all me and I occasionally can’t interact because I’m exhausted or overwhelmed. I apologize in advance. My mental health is worlds better the last two years or so after getting medications that actually work but it’s not perfect and probably won’t ever be. I have so much trauma from my Mother growing up and my heart transplant that I don’t know that I’ll ever really be “good” I just know it’s “better”.

Behold, Morro for season 4 in the Lego Monkie Kid au!!

Below the cut I’ve put some details about the season, as well as their design.

• So, Morro gets trapped in the scroll along with everyone else!! Inspired by what one of my friends on discord mentioned, apparently the scrolls work for all memories, not just for recording JTTW stuff.

• Therefore. We’re gonna get some Morro trauma. Since the scroll can put you in the worst memories you had/in some kind of past life, I thought, “what better than to hurl Morro back into his misdeeds as a ghost?”

- That’s why when Morro’s in the scroll, he’s gonna be walking around in his old gi from the show. I didn’t give him a cloak or anything for the sole reason of me having a hard time drawing it

• Boy oh boy Morro absolutely hates having to be dressed in the robes of his past. He’s been trying to move away from what he did, to forge his own identity and life. Yet now he gets put right back where he was, at the peak of his darkest times, and MK and Mei end up bearing witness to it, no less!

• Long story short Morro just. Is going to be miserable this whole season. Their past got dredged up in such a messy way for all to see.

• I don’t wanna give away too much since this post is mainly just for Morro’s season 4 design, hehe.

• You want more info?? Send in asks! I will devour them and answer back dutifully.

• Now onto design talk, tw for some blood stains and detailed description of death for a bit

• The only details I’ll really say for Morro’s scroll design are that his outfit is fairly burnt and torn up in many places, due to how he died. Well, more so the condition his clothes were in when he passed away.

- The front of Morro’s gi is stained with dried blood because of how he died, which I personally believe to be due to the kethanol gas in the Caves of Despair. There’s more info about it on the wiki, but the effects I’ve given to it basically are that prolonged exposure will cause someone to bleed out, with blood coming from the nose and mouth and the eventual exsanguination is the cause of death. So yeah, you just. Drown in your own blood, can’t get enough actual air and asphyxiate, bleed out, etc. The gas can kill you in a number of ways I’d say

• Moving past all that…Morro gets longer ribbons now!! He added on a new ribbon, since he bonded with Red Son at the end of Season 3, and off-screen between the last season and this one, lol. Think of their friendship as…fanning the flames. They kinda just hype each other up and it’s very chaotic.

• Morro actually trains with Macaque to learn some shadow magic!! They’re super interested in learning teleportation via shadows because it’s cool as hell, and they just generally like to spend time with Macaque. After some time, Morro finds that his eye markings are getting kinda…larger and discolored.

- Surprise the universe/gods saw Macaque taking in Morro and went “oh successor??? The Six-Eared Macaque has a successor??” And long story short, after an initial bout of extreme panicking, Morro realizes that he’s now got some cooler new markings!!

- Yes, I’m contractually obligated to change Morro’s eye markings with each new design at this point, lay off me

- I’m very happy with this marking design tho!! It looks very nice and is easy for me to draw. The markings actually manifest themselves in the way of like…scar stuff. And I tried to have them resemble Morro’s actual cursed markings as much as I could, but it was hard to do that when it kept veering into flame territory (which I wasn’t aiming for). So yeah!

- I also added a little chart at the bottom to demonstrate the differences between the markings and also how Macaque’s and Morro’s purples are different. Mac’s is more on the blue hued scale, while Morro’s has more pink tones to it. There!

• And last but not least, the tail(s) of Morro’s sash got longer!! I did this for the purpose of giving their silhouette a more monkey-like appearance, with the longer sash acting as a sort of faux shadow tail. This works great for any silhouette shots!

• So yeah! That’s that! Feel free to ask anymore questions, I’ll be glad to answer!!!

• Oh also I forgot to draw it in but you know how everyone else gets a cool weapon during season 4 from the scroll? Yeah, Morro’s taking the memory of the Sword of Sanctuary with him.

MK - :The System Caregiver: Procreate on iPad Pro

BAH I’ve had this one done forever, and I’ve really liked it forever, just got lazy in uploading it, LOL.

So I REALLY REALLY love the one and a half episodes of Marc and Steven together in the headspace, dissecting their characters to what makes them tick (MY BIGGEST WEAKNESS is character development that makes me love them more, LOL) and it seems to be the general consensus in the MK D+ fandom that Steven is the caretaker, the one who supports the system emotionally since he never experienced the trauma Marc and Jake have, and I really vibe with that characterization since we DO see that in Episode 5 for sure. And my vision for this piece is that Jake needs the support most of all but has a hard time accepting it. That’s all this really is, honestly. Just Steven comforting his two protectors in the way he’s best at.

It’s not my best work; I drew it when I was struggling with my own mental health back in the summer. I love the idea it conveys though, so I finished it up. I just love the idea of Steven loving them both unconditionally, and when the body’s asleep / at rest, they’re able to come to their safe-space in their mind palace and interact with each other and go to him for comfort and acceptance.

Anyway, still on a D+ Moon Knight kick, and still have a few pics being finished up and to be posted. I’m so looking forward to when Jake finally makes his full-time appearance and how they’re going to interact as a team. I already love the Steven-and-Marc dynamic, and want to see Jake added into the mix. I hope they make him fiercely protective but also desperate for their acceptance of him.

I just really have a soft spot for misunderstood-and-loves-his-system-fiercely-Jake, alright? LOL

Unique Family

A/n: The final chapter is here! I'm excited to have this done! Now, I can work on HC about (Y/n)! Thank you guys for liking this fanfic! I'm happy to post this!

Please, know I did some time skipping cause my brain was rotting away as i tried to write them. Especially the fight part. So. Yeah! Sorry for the grammar and misspelling!

Warning! This chapter does have a lot more violence, a bit of child abuse, and panic attacks. Let the trauma commence!

Tang and Pigsy looked sadly at the demon child embracing the two teens. Mk and Mei's smiles disappeared as they saw their fathers' faces looking troubled. They had to come up with something and fast.

(Y/n) did not notice their faces. Feeling a wave of relief when they saw the trio safe until a voice interrupted the peace, the voice of the two villagers shouting their venom at (Y/n).

"Why are you "Heros" protecting this monster? They are supposed to be with their kind. Rotting in hell." the male villager spat out as he tried to move. He got the gang's attention. Mk and Mei blocked (Y/n) line of sight from seeing them.

Pigsy can feel his anger about getting the best of him. He wanted to beat him senselessly, but Sandy stopped him. Tang was able to manage his anger to a degree. He wants to knock him out of existence, but he sees (Y/n).

Their ears were covered by Mei, protecting them from the cruel words. Tang calmed himself down and placed his hand on Pigsy's shoulder to help calm him down. Tang spoke, "we have to stay calm and focus on getting them out of here."

Even with their ears covered, they can still hear the hateful words of the villager as he yelled loudly. "No one cares about you, demon! No matter where you go, we'll follow you till your dead! Hahaha! " (y/n) clutched their hand on Mei's jacket as they heard them yell nonsense.

"Hey, demon. A little word of advice," the woman villager spoke." If you want your new family to live, then turn yourself in. Like how you should have done for Mimi. Others wise, more pictures are going on that shrine of yours." That sentence made (Y/n) freeze.

Mei had enough of their nonsense and yelled, "Shut it, you jerk!" As she walked toward them.

~(Y/n) pov~

'Is she right?'

'Is the new family I gain about to meet the same fate as Mimi?'

'I can't let it happen again.'

You let go of Mei's jacket and saw their feet move. You slowly walked away as everyone was facing away from you. They didn't seem to hear you move away from them.

'I have to leave.'

Before the two tied-up villagers could speak again, Mei used the heel of her sword and knocked them out before they could turn to you.

You ran into the garden.

'… I have to protect them.'

~Third person~

They disappeared.

"Oh no," Mk said under his breath, as he turned to see (Y/n) was gone. He felt the regret of leaving them alone. He wasn't the only one feeling it as they rushed to find them.

As (Y/n) ran into the fields far from the group to protect them. They weave around the tree and bushes, breathing hard as they run.

In their mind, they have to keep the gang safe and far away from them. (Y/n) had to stop as they reached the limit of the garden. It was too close to the villages.

Their ears picked up movement coming closer. They didn't want to turn to see who it was.

'What if it was those villagers!' They thought before tripping to the ground and trying to hold their tears.

"(Y/n)! Are you okay?! " A familiar voice yelled as they got closer.

(Y/n) turned to see Pigsy and Tang. They tried to come closer to (Y/n), but they quickly got up and backed away.

"(y/n), you don't need to run! We're here for you!" Tang said as Pigsy added. "Kid, we're not leaving you alone till your safe!"

(Y/n) shook their head before crying out. "No, they're right! I hurt everyone that helps me! Mimi would be alive if I went with them!"

"(Y/n), it wasn't your fault for her death! Mimi protected you so you can live!" Tang said, giving off a glow as he spoke. Pigsy nodded in agreement.

"She wouldn't want you to live with that guilt. Mimi wanted you to live your life to the fullest." Pigsy said, now both giving a yellow and pink glow.

Before (Y/n) said anything, they saw two huge nets above the demon and the two fathers. "(Y/N)!!" They both yell as they see (Y/n) start to panic.

A cry was heard as the rest of the gang got closer. As Mk, Mei and Sandy got there. They saw (Y/n) getting abducted by the two villagers.

"After all this time. We finally caught you." The elder said as the other two pulled (Y/n)s net closer towards them. (y/n) felt panic rising as they wrathed in fear in the net.

"NO! NO! LET US GO!" They shouted as their eyes started to turn to flash (F/c).

"Hurry up and go to the outskirt of the village. Make sure to tie it up. We don't need it to go on a rampage again." The elder spoke as the two villagers restrained the net tighter to the demon, causing (Y/n) to hug their legs and tail.

Tang and Pigsy tried their best to get out but couldn't. All they can do is watch as their child gets taken away. Before they could lose hope, a long staff comes flying at one of two goons.

"LET THEM GO!" Mk yelled as he got his staff back to normal. Sandy raced to help Tang and Pigsy out of the nets.

The elder was frustrated at the gang's determination. "YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND, BOY! THIS DEMON WILL BE COMING WITH US AND BE TAKEN CARE OF!" He yelled at Mk and signaled the last standing villager to run.

"We don't need to understand you, hypocrites! Right now, we are getting our sibling out of here!" Mei yelled as she stood by Mk.

Before (Y/n) knew what was happening, they were picked up and rushed to a different location. (Y/n) cried and kicked to get the gang's attention.

"(Y/N)!" Mk yelled as he used his staff to chase them down. He got close to (Y/n), seeing their glowing (F/c) eyes. Both arms reached out for each other, but a punch to the stomach caused him to fall to the ground.

It was from the elder.

"MK!!" (Y/n) cried as they were taken from the gang.

"Mk!" Mei worried over her friend. "DON'T WORRY ABOUT ME! WE HAVE TO RESCUE (Y/N)!" He said as he gasped for air. Mei lunged toward the elder before he attacked Mk again.

"Guys! We'll hold him off! You guys get (Y/n)!" She yelled as she swung her sword at him and emitted neon green flames. The elder moved slowly and dodged her attacks.

"You, youngsters, need to respect your elders!" He said as he kicked her back, causing Mei to crash to the ground. Mei groaned and tried to get up. But the elder almost stomped his feet on her back but halted.

"You're not my elder!" He heard from behind as Mk swung his staff at him.

~mean while with (Y/n) cause I'm not writing out this fight scene~

(Y/n) felt their fears and dreaded skyrocketing as they saw about a few more of those monsters. They cheered as they saw (y/n) crying and whimpering. Not noticing their eyes were beaming brighter.

(Y/n) curled up tighter as they felt the stones hit them. Trying to shield themselves.

'This is it.'

'It's over…'

(Y/n) thought as they prepared for the worst.

"(Y/n)!" A voice shouted from behind the crowd as they saw Sandy and Pigsy only a few feet away. "Release them, or else you'll regret ever messing with my kid!" Pigsy said as he cracked his knuckles.

"You guys are messing with the wrong little dude," Sandy said as his aura became darker and more powerful.

The villagers laughed before a few of them decided they wanted to fight the duo. (Y/n) turned to them and saw someone thrown over the villagers. Sandy dusted off his hand as the goons looked in shock.

"Everyone gets them! You stay here with that thing." One order as more joined in the fight. One was left alone with the trapped demon child.

"Those guys are going to get hurt cause of you," The villager said as he looked at (Y/n). A noise was heard behind them, "Gu-" the villager was about to alert the others but went silenced. (Y/n) open their eyes and sees Tang with a stone he used to knock out the villager.

"(Y/n), Don't worry, I'm going to get you out of here," Tang whispered as he untied the ropes from the net. He noticed that their eyes glowed (f/c) as they were released.

(Y/n) knew their eyes were glowing and looked away from him. Mortified to think if Tang saw their eyes.

"No, they're going to hurt you guys! You need to leave without me!" (y/n) insisted as they walked backward away from Tang. "They are going to hurt you guys because of me…" soft hiccups and sniffs came from (Y/n) as they tried to wipe the tears away.

"(Y/n)… we aren't going anywhere without you." He tries to reassure them and walk closer.

Before he could say anything else to (Y/n), a loud crash erupted as villagers surrounded them.

Two caught Tang, and three circled (Y/n). (Y/n) turned to try and find a way to help but saw Pigsy and Sandy, seeing them underneath a pile of villagers as they struggled to move.

"No! Let them go! You guys want me!" (Y/n) cried as they saw their new family getting harmed. (Y/n) was reaching their limit as they felt their fear and rage about to explode.

*"Awww. Do you think we are going to allow them to live? You manipulated them into protecting you," One yelled at (Y/n). They brought out an array of katanas and knives. They point their blades and give them cuts.

"We can't have that now. " A villager walked closer to (Y/n). "Say goodbye, demon. It's time to end your rain of terror." He said as the one surrounding them grabbed their arms and held them steady. (Y/n) struggled to move. Everything started to become static and blurred as they finally broke.

"No! No! NO!" (y/n) screamed before their eyes were now blazing completely (f/c). (Y/n) started to see everything in a blur and hear static.

"LEAVE. US. ALONE!!" A large force knocked the villagers away from (Y/n). Tang, Pigsy, and Sandy were shocked at the child's form. The monster the villager feared. (Y/n) body started to change, horns became taller, their hands, feet, and tail became bright (F/c), and teeth sharper.

"Sh-" The closest villager utters before a kick knocks him into another. The others were frozen in place or ran away to save their skin. But they didn't get far.

(Y/n) was swift as they attacked them to the ground. Beating them to a pulp as they begged for mercy. Pigsy and Sandy used this moment to shove the villagers off of them.

Tang was in shock at what happened to (Y/n).

This sweet child pushed to their limits becomes this. Pigsy and Sandy had he get him away from the flying bodies (Y/n) hurled.

(Y/n) meanwhile was just attacking one after another. Because of their small size, they quickly tackled them down. The villagers tried to use their weapons but didn't faze them. Leaving small scars and cuts on it, but (Y/n) skin became hard to pierce.

"What are we going to do? (Y/n) is too furious and can't be stopped!" Sandy said as he shielded Tang and Pigsy from oncoming bodies. "They probably won't stop till it subsides!" Tang said, thinking of a way to get (Y/n) out of this state.

"Mei! Mk! They're still with that crazy old man!" Pigsy said as he realized how long they were gone.

His words caught the child's attention.

They noticed the demon child staring in their direction as they let go of the last villager. They saw every last villager on the ground with severe injuries. It seems no one there won't be left unscathed.

"That… monster…." They say in a dubious voice before racing to find the village elder. (Y/n) ran past the trio with a newfound fury.

"We have to get there before they do! Who knows what will happen." Pigsy said as they chased behind the fast child. They didn't want (Y/n) to live with the guilt of taking another's life, even if they're horrid people. They are just a kid.

As they got nearer, they heard clashing and grunted. They arrived to find Mk and Mei still battling the elder, now armed with a wooden staff. They all turn to see a new and rage-filled (Y/n) as they charge at the elder.

Mk and Mei were in disbelief, seeing (Y/n) changed and furious. They snap out of the moment as they see Sandy and their fathers chasing after (Y/n).

"Guys, what happened?!" Mk questioned as he tried to wrap around (Y/n) new form. Before anyone answered, but a whimper interrupted, they watched the demon child get thrown into a tree.

The elder was furious to see the old form of (Y/n) and clenched his staff as he moved closer to them. (Y/n) growled at him before making an attack.

"They couldn't even kill you right!" He yells angrily.

"You don't belong here! Now stay still and die!" The elder swung his staff at (Y/n), but they caught it. They yanked the wooden staff away and crushed it in their hand. Causing the elder to freeze for a moment as (Y/n) headbutted him into a tree.

(Y/n) slowly walking towards the elder was get up and took out a hidden blade before they even attacked each other, a shield covered (Y/n).

It caught everyone by surprise as Tang grunts to keep studying. Felt the blows the demon child was giving as they hit the orb and screamed in frustration.

"Sandy! Pigsy! Find something to tie that man down." He said as he maintained his focus on the shield.

"Kids! Get (Y/n) out of here before they do something they'll regret!" Pigsy yelled as he saw (Y/n). Moving the orb caused the demon to move against them. Struggling to move it, they decided to try calming (Y/n) instead.

Sadly (Y/n) wasn't done with him. They pounded on the orb furiously. The elder observed them in shock, seeing the demon form close to him. Pigsy found the net used on them earlier as Mk and Mei tried to divert the enraged child.

"(Y/n)! We are here for you!" Mei said as she waved her arms in the air. Nothing, they were still banging the yellow shield around them. Mk thought for a minute and slowly moved closer to them.

"(Y/n), it's us. We're okay. You don't have to be afraid anymore." He said, placing his hand on the orb. "You don't need to be scared anymore!" He said as he saw the child stop their actions.

(Y/n) eyeing the teen and almost placed their hand to his.

"You monster will believe anything you make up! Forcing these people to live in your sick fantasy!" The elder yelled as he tried to stand. He moved away from Sandy and Pigsy attempted to stop him.

"Silence, old man!" Mei said, but it was too late. (Y/n) faced towards the elder and using all of their energy.

With one hit, it shattered and caused Tang to feel the hit, and he fell to his knees. Mei, Mk, and the elder were pushed back by force. The elder was up against a tree. He took out the hidden dagger and got up to face the child.

(Y/n) one focus was on ending the elder. Their minds racing with one thought, 'If he perished, no one would dare enter this place again. No one would dare try to harm them again. '

They gradually moved towards the elder as steam was coming off them.

The elder used his last bit of energy to charge at (Y/n), who was getting ready to attack, but (Y/n) 's glow started to dim. The gang saw them slowly revert into their old form, but they kept moving toward the elder.

Another sphere appeared shielding (Y/n), Tang using his energy to protect them. This cause the elder to hit it and stumble back. Tang looked up to see (Y/n) not moving.

"See if (Y/n) is okay." He said as the orb dissolved.

Mk and Mei rushed towards (Y/n) and saw their eyes were now empty. They can see (Y/n) body reverted to normal. Every ounce of energy was gone, and they started to stumble as they attempted to move.

Meanwhile, the elder tried to stand and reach for the knife but was stopped by Pigsy and Sandy. The injuries he got finally caught up to him as he gave up.

Pigsy and Sandy tied up the elder. He signals Sandy to take the tied-up elder away from there. Sandy nodded and headed in the direction of the home. Pigsy went to see his husband as he struggled to get up and helped him stand.

(Y/n) the body finally gave into the fatigue and fell to the ground but was caught by Mk. His eyes widen, fearing that they weren't breathing, but he heard a small gasp. (Y/n) was breathing slowly. He felt relief as he carried them to the rest of the gang.

The two fathers had worried looks as they saw (Y/n) body seeming lifeless. "They're still breathing," Mk said as they all headed towards the home.

They saw all the damage the villagers caused to the home, garden, and even the shrine. Shocked at how much damage that they had done. Sandy was fixing the van, and the elder was tied to a tree.

"Is the little dude okay?" He questioned worry about (Y/n) as they got closer. "I'm not sure, but they're still breathing," Mk said, unsure about their condition. A groan came from the child as they tried to move in his arms.

Pigsy went to get a first aid kit as Mk and Mei cleared a space for all of them to rest. After everyone was bandaged and mended, they rested underneath the sunset.

Sandy was still working on the van with Mei's help. Mk stayed near the unconscious kid. Pigsy and Tang cooked some food to restore some energy. They noticed his demeanor as he didn't touch his bowl.

"Mk, you have to eat," Tang said as he sat next to him. Mk frowned as he looked at his food. "But…" He sighed before continuing.

"I left them alone. If I had stayed with (Y/n), they wouldn't have run away and got taken." He started to blame himself. Pigsy placed his hand on Mk's shoulder.

"Mk, this isn't your fault. None of us focused on them at that moment," Pigsy said, trying to reassure his son. Knowing everyone made that mistake. It gave little reassurance, but he wanted to see (Y/n) awake and safe.

"We have to focus on the present now and them getting better." Tang continued his husband's sentence and patted his back. Mk sighed and ate little by little.

~a few hours of Sandy and Pigsy throwing villagers back to where they came from~

Soon everyone was resting by the campfire, exhausted and tired. Mk and Mei slept next to (Y/n) as the three adults kept looking out for any more attackers.

(Y/n) moved around and started to wake up. They groaned in pain as they struggled to get up. They sat up and saw Tang rushing towards them.

"(Y/n), your awake!" He said and embraced them carefully.

"Tang!" They said, hugging him back before they were interrupted.

"Tang, why are you yelling? (Y/n)!" Pigsy said as he saw them awake. This cause Sandy to turn and see (Y/n) awake and tear up. "Little dude! You're alright!" He cried.

Mk and Mei woke up by the noise and saw them awake. "(Y/n)!" they both expressed in unison as they hugged them and Tang. They soon felt two new pairs of arms around them. Everyone was now hugging (Y/n) in relief seeing them awake.

"Guys, I would like to breathe, please," (Y/n) said as they felt squished. Everyone gave a small chuckle and let go of (Y/n). "What happened?" They asked the whole gang. Everyone went silent for a moment, unsure if they should explain.

(Y/n) was curious and turned to see where they were, Mk tried to stop them, but they saw their home devastated. They felt their heart shattered as they stared at the place once called home in disbelief.

They quickly got up and almost fell before being caught by Mei. "Woah, there! Easy now," she said as she helped them to stand.

(Y/n) eyes soon land on the destroyed shrine, causing them to let go of Mei and run towards it.

"Mimi!" (Y/n) cried as they fell to the ground. (Y/n) eye searched for something, the picture of Mimi. They soon saw the broken frame. Their hand reached for it.

(Y/n) hugged it close. They felt their eyes water and spill whatever tears were left. The gang was able to hear the apologies they whispered. It made their heart sink as they kept apologizing.

(Y/n) eyes widened as they realized. (Y/n) knew the gang saw their transformation and attacked the villagers. They looked down, wanting to hide.

'The gang saw my demon form. They think I'm a monster."

Their mind panicked, already thinking about the worst outcome.

Before they could speak, they felt an embrace from Mk. "(Y/n), We know you were scared and angry." He said as they all agreed. "Know we are here for you now, and we don't intend on leaving you alone." He reassures the young demon.

"That right, kid. You're with us now," Pigsy said as he ruffled (Y/n) hair. "Will make sure no bothers you again!" Mei said as she joined the embrace.

(Y/n) hugged the two teens back. "I wanna go home with you guys," (Y/n) expressed as they hugged tighter. "We'll go home in the morning, but for right now, we need to get you something to eat," Tang said as he carried them to the campsite.

~Morning after resting, eating, fixing the van, and packing up!~

(Y/n) stand near the van as they looked at their home one final time. They felt remorse for leaving.

The gang watched as the demon child looked out on their old home.

"Mimi…" (Y/n) said as they walked toward Pigsy and Tang. "I'm ready," they say, knowing it was for the best. "You know we can back if you want to," Pigsy said as he carried the child inside. Before Sandy started the van, (Y/n) looked at their home.

"No, I'll be fine," they say somberly.

They gave a soft wave to their former home. Mk and Mei looked worried about them.

Till, (Y/n) saw a figure near the home, waving its arms to (Y/n).

Mimi was waving goodbye as they drove off.

Causing (Y/n) to give a soft smile as they waved faster before they couldn't see her anymore. They soon sat next to Mei and Mk as they watched the scenery pass by.

Now a new adventure begins with (Y/n)'s Unique Family.

It’s that time of year again (even though I really don’t do this yearly, more like whenever I remember to post) for me to post the art I’ve made recently. There will definitely be a trend of LMK (Lego Monkie Kid) art here because I’m currently hyperfixated on Monkey King things. (but honestly he’s a mood and I wish I could have someone like him in my life because I need that chaotic energy in my life). Anyways here’s the art, which is mostly ocs but I don’t care lol

Okay so to start us off on what I’ve drawn is (newest to oldest):

Xiaoyue (the first two pictures) is one of my lmk ocs. She is Mk’s sister and pretty much his Macaque just without the trauma (which comes during s2/s3 when LBD briefly gets into Mk’s head and causes him to attack his sister which results in her getting a scar. She is blind in that eye, but I forgot to show that so imagine her eye is a grayish color instead or she’s simply wearing a colored contact).

Next up is Red Son. Though it’s more of a redesign/AU design because I was on a redesign kick, but I really enjoyed his design in lmk (at least his outfit) so I just changed up his colors and added more bull features on him along with the five rings that Guanyin put on him in JttW (though I believe one is supposed to be around his head like with Monkey King, but I decided to put it on his neck instead. Sort of like a necklace).

Next is a lil mini comic thing (that I used a reference for that I found on Pinterest) of JttW Wukong and pre-curse Bao (another lmk oc who’s pretty much transcended to anything Monkey King related lol) when they first meet and pretty much fall in love with each other. Though they have technically met before then, back when Wukong was causing trouble in heaven for the Jade Emperor. The two never really interacted for various of reasons, but young Bao did find Wukong to be a breath of fresh air (metaphorically speaking) compared to everyone else in heaven. (If you want Bao backstory I’ll give it just send an ask and I’ll spill the tea lol)

Next up is Qingling (another lmk oc lol) who is a young goddess that can turn into the twelve different animals of the zodiac as well as communicate with them. The purple robe is from when she was placed to guard the map of the Samadhi Fire with Nezha, who pretty much became her mentor but not really (he just taught her how to fight so that she’d be able to actually guard the map). The red robe is from when she left her position, which happened some time before the events of the show, and met Mk (who she gained loyalty to and a crush/partner which is totally based off of a rp with a friend). She’s pretty much like Mk, but more on the side of being similar to early Monkey King (mostly because she used to terrorize people with her powers for the fun of it plus she honestly didn’t know how to treat mortals before meeting Mk since she was sort of taught that they were beneath her).

Next we have Possessed AU (my own little AU) Bao, which is about how Bao ran away from heaven upon finding out Wukong had been trapped under a mountain (she had a crush on him and was overreacting lol) and ended up meeting Lady Bone Demon, who used her powers to possess the vulnerable young goddess. Unlike “Mayor”, Bao is a mute and does what either LBD or Mayor tell her to do (she’s referred to as his receptionist many times to mostly hide her true identity). The staff was something created for Bao by LBD to channel her powers and allow Bao to use both LBD’s bone magic (like Macaque did in s3) and her own sunlight magic. (If you want to know more about the AU just send an ask, I’d be happy to answer it)

Next is actually a fusion design/redesign/AU design for Macaque. It’s a mixture of his 2009 Monkey King show design and his LMK design. I really liked the design of young Mac so I thought it’d be fun to merge the designs. It’s kinda like his true form, or at least my version of his true form. I’ll eventually draw the full body version of it lol.

Lastly is a random thing I wanted to make that got stuck in my head for days before I actually drew it and I love it so much. The two characters have evolved from just random characters to ocs that I’m slowly making a world around. For now they’re just referred to as the Princess and the Vampire since I don’t have names for them yet. Though I do know that he’s the “villain” of the story and their lives are intertwined with each other no matter what they do.

21. If you're a fic writer and you write for this character, whats your favourite thing to do when writing for them? What's something you don't like?

Jake - I like writing him as sarcastic, mostly gruff but teasing.

I don't like writing Spanish phrases because I feel I repeat myself, that they're not authentic and it's mostly Google translate 😞

Steven - I love adding in funny little British phrases, especially ones I normally use. Nice to imagine him saying them.

Hate when I find myself writing him mostly submissive and docile. He has shown he's sassy, capable and confrontational and when I don't find a way to include that I feel I'm doing him a disservice.

Marc - Love writing him through contexts that involve his trauma. When he's self-sacrificing but still acknowledging his faults, idk, fun.

Hate when I read over smth and feel I've not written him complex enough, either made him too asshole-y or too self-hating.

22. If you're a fic reader, what's something you like reading about this character? What's something you don't like?

Jake - Looove when people write him with depth. When he's caring about the boys, yes, but also destructive. I remember reading in a comic, a villain described the scariest thing about Moon Knight is he won't bother dodging a hit, he'll just take it, unflinching. To me that is Jake. Tries to protect them because that's all he knows, and when they include things like "This is the first time Jake's actually tried fresh bread BC he rarely fronts to eat." AHHH perfect.

Don't like when they only write him as fighting with Marc. Would they clash? Absolutely, but they have a lot in common. Also Steven would clash with him too.

Steven - Love when people write him scolding Jake and Steven. Going from "Guys... Please... Please let's not fight... Guys. GUYS. I SAID BLOODY STOP FIGHTING YOU PAIR OF WANKERS." Adore it so much.

Hate, like with my own writing, when he's just watered down to the baby. Little Steven that's uwu bean and only submissive and cries the moment someone raises a voice at him. He literally nearly told Donna to fuck herself and seethed at her face.

Marc - Love when he, even when low, tries. When authors write scenes like he fucks up but instead of just dipping completely and giving up, he tries to make up for it. He does it badly, but does it. Eg pisses off Steven, doesn't know what to do so tries to make Vegan cake and it's terrible but he tried.

Hate when people make him an asshole and nothing more. "Marc never lets anyone in... He's rude to everyone to keep them away." He has Frenchie, he married Layla, he has Steven. Unless it's pre-mk show, Marc let's people in! He might not let them in fully, but he lets them in. Stop isolating him so extremely!

🍑 Resident Evil (I’m not too well versed on the overall story, but I know the story from the RE1 Remake, the RE3 Remake, the RE4 Remake, the RE4 Remake DLC: Separate Ways, RE7: Biohazard, RE8/Village, and RE8/Village DLC: Shadows of Rose. I just know, in summary, that Umbrella Corporation bad and pulled some fuckery with the T-virus and bioweapon shit, the Connections are bad and made bioweapon shit, Mother Miranda pretty much started it all in hopes to revive her daughter, and Rose is doing some shit working with Chris Redfield who helped to raise her in honor of Ethan’s dying wish during the whole village incident. I’ll try to get better versed on the story and characters in the future, but that is all I know at the moment)

🍑 Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events (My fifth grade teacher read the first couple books to me and my class while also showing us the Netflix series to show the differences between the two and make it more fun. I ended up watching the whole series as it progressed outside of school and was partially traumatized by the episode where Sunny almost died from a fucking fungus. That scared the shit out of me, but it’s still a damn good series if I do say so myself.)

I'm so annoyed that the Boss is only getting one more season. He is my absolute favorite Voltage LI and I can't help but feel like they set him up to fail from the very beginning. He always seemed like an afterthought as all focus was on the 3S, and he was only added on as a LI after them. And whilst I don't mind a slow burn romance, it did alienate readers (I can still remember all the complaints following his first season regarding his lack of a name and how it didn't seem like a proper relationship between him and MC). Which is a shame as I honestly feel that Boss truly loves the MC, more than the other guys--he's changed far more than any of them, and for the better. Ultimately they tried something different but the execution was sloppy.

Making him an antagonist in other routes wasn't a horrible decision (girls like the bad boy, right?), but the way they went about it didn't help. Kei's route was set up for maximum empathy points, and whilst I'm not fond of the way they tackled an issue such as child abuse, it did endear Kei all the more to many readers and the cold, indifferent, callous attitude of the boss turned them away from him. If it had been set up differently and under a different scenario I don't think readers would have been as turned off by him.

Oh, and let's not forget that disappointing disaster that was his 3rd season. Overpriced with little to show for. I couldn't believe the amount of hearts I was paying for only 3 lines of dialogue. Hardly any raunchy scenes either. Ridiculous as his S2 was so good. It really showed that Voltage is pretty much done with him, as does the lack of any new special stories (especially compared to the others).

Honestly I can rant all day. That's how frustrated I am. Oh well, at least my wallet will be happy.

Yes I'm extremely disappointed too so I completely understand how you feel. I'm annoyed that he isn't treated the same way by Voltage, because them exposing him less makes the fans less interested, and since there's not a lot of interest from the readers, Voltage won't make more content for him. It's a vicious cycle.

I've been reading MK not long after it has been released, and the Boss had always been planned to get his own story as he was part of the Love Interests lineup in the title. He was either always there, or was quickly added just like the others.

I don't think him being added later is what made people less interested in him though. Some other titles have added characters some years after the initial release, and these added characters have been loved by the readers despite their late start. Some good example would be Takaomi Tsugaru from HLITF. He came later than the other LIs, his story is very slow burn, and yet a lot of people love him. Kei's story from MK is also very very slow burn (more than the Boss), yet he's appreciated plenty.

I didn't think about this at all, but you're completely right with your point that Kei being abused as a child made the Boss' depiction as an antagonist (in Kei's Main Story) a poor or dangerous choice. Due to how sensitive this subject is, I wouldn't be surprised if that's why people don't care for him the same way as the 3S'. Sadly, people don't know a lot about the Boss since not many will read his story due to that, which is devastating to me because now we get one last season, and yet he's an amazing character. (For anyone that might read this and who hasn't read Kei' story, no, the Boss doesn't mock Kei's past when he went through child abuse. He is a cruel character in this route but it's not linked to Kei's trauma).

I completely agree that the Boss was done dirty by Voltage. MK is a popular title, they could have easily put him in the spotlight if they had tried to advertise him like the others. So far, he doesn't have his own VIP room and isn't included in the events all the time. I'm sad because his mysterious side makes him all the more charming and it feels amazing to finally discover who he is as a person. It's what attracted and still attracts me to him. His way of loving the MC is beautiful and their banter is very entertaining. His sense of justice is beautiful too.

This is only my opinion, but I didn't dislike him as a sort of antagonist in the other routes. It's true when you say that a lot of people like the bad boys. They're interesting enough to want to know their motives for being bad right? Except the Boss isn't "bad" at all in his own route. He's just perfect 😩

I do think his character was a bit changed in Kei's route though. I just don't recognize him as being this cruel in his own route. He can be cruel if he wants and needs to be, but I felt like this agent side of him was very exaggerated to make MC and the readers take Kei's side. Kei's story is beautiful though, and every route is in its own way.

It's alright that the Boss is a cruel antagonist in Kei's route. I just wish people were able to make the difference between Boss from Kei's route and Boss in his own route, and I also wish Voltage treated the Boss the same way as the others because he has the same potential as them. I completely agree with you, I wouldn't blame you for being disappointed that his route will end soon. Let's share the chaos and devastation 😭

[SPOILERS FOR ANYONE WHO STILL HASN'T SEEN S3!!!] After defeating LBD, someone would have a nightmare. Literally anyone. So, the gang would always host a sleepover once a week until they're comfortable to recover from the trauma.

When Spicynoodles announced that they're dating, Macaque, Tang, and PIF had to hold back their husband/boyfriend/fiance from killing the two.

Ookido Green/ Blue Oak (Pokémon gameverse)

He stole my heart when I was like 4, never gave it back. I love him with ardent passion to this day. The first game did him dirty, so I'm really glad about the revisions to his character TPC has made over the years because they have added dimension and complexity to him. The reason I'm fixated on the rivals to lovers troupe. Major inspiration in my sports life.

Nakahara Chuuya (Bungo Stray Dogs)

The angriest chibi sheepdog around. *slaps back* This bad boy can pack so much trauma in him. He's a mess but his mental fortitude and ability to forgive (even when he claims there won’t be a second chance! lol) is quite impressive. His arc is far from over though, so I'm dying to see what the story has in store for him. Will he actually end up slowly tainted by the darkness he's surrounded in? The uncertainty gives me life.

Yato (Noragami)

Dramatic, goofy character with a dark past? yes, please. The burdens of the gods are quite interesting and I would love for him to be right about placing his faith in  Hiyo-chan and survive so he can say "b*tch, you thought." to his father.

Arataka Reigen (Mob Psycho 100)

The Greatest Psychic of the Century, Twink Supreme, Ultimate DILF, True Babygirl. He's known by many names but, in Mob's words, Reigen Shisho is a good guy. He's a refreshing MC character for a shounen and BONES was right to thirst for him.  

Kudou Shinichi (Meitantei Conan)

Cheeky bastard #1.  Can't mind his own business and lacks self preservation but that's fine, he has a quick mind and has amassed a small army of overqualified people who enable and  keep him alive. Mild sadistic streak when it comes to a certain thief, but he's a tsundere with a soft spot for kids and dogs. A total keeper.

Kuroba Kaito (Magic Kaito)

Cheeky bastard #2. I love his veiled kindness and his mischievous, chaotic side the best. I'm glad we could get his own point of view in the cases he crosses paths with Conan because I just live for the contrast of his suave persona in DC vs. barely holding it together thanks to crazy luck in MK. He deserved better when it comes to the Touichi is actually alive fiasco, though.

Igirisu/ Arthur Kirkland / England (Hetalia)

Fav character of one of my oldest fandoms after Pokémon. Thanks to him I met who is my best friend to this day and  had lots of fun back then. Many fond memories of this fandom so he has a special place in my heart.

Mitsurugi Reiji/ Miles Edgeworth (Gyakuten Saiban)

Seeing him go from his pretentious bratty self to his slightly less pretentious, kind daddy self was a pleasure. It started with unnecessary feelings and it progressed to the admission of "that man" still shining brightly in his eyes. He got really nice character growth and development.

Hijikata Toushirou (Gintama)

Supposed to be the cool stoic character but no  one can stay cool in Gintama and his hilarious shortcomings made him quite endearing to me. Sadists magnet.

Matsuoka Rin (FREE!)

I'll admit the drama these guys had going went completely over my head, like most competitive sports anime character's drama does, but his personality is just my cup of tea so I find him adorable. I like reading about him in different AUs more than in canon though.

okay so BEFORE i make my headcanon post about the omens as a whole, i wanna analyze Geist bc he has influenced my headcanons significantly. note that i’m kinda doing this analysis chronologically as opposed to in order of how information is given in-game. I’d also love to have added more screenshots, but that’s tricky to do atm. I’ll probably edit them in later.

Heavy spoilers ahead just in case anyone who hasn’t finished the game yet stumbled upon this. Without further ado:

So, we’re given very little information about what Geist’s first persona (presumably would be called Geist MK-I) was like, but we do get glimpses from Dianthus and Callistephus in chapter 8, and later Geist’s little support robot in the epilogue. Dianthus and the robot say that he was someone who never gave up on trying to solve the problem of Quietus. Callistephus compares Dianthus’s attempts to embrace hope and emotions to Geist’s former behavior.

He was highly determined, and kept trying even as everyone else around him gave up. I like to think he wasn’t unlike Ein when it comes to that. Although, in Geist’s case, it seems that having more and more demands placed on him as he was left to do the work almost entirely alone took its toll. Dianthus states that he became more and more isolated, until he basically went AWOL. He disconnected from the collective consciousness and left for Lost Gaia.

The White Omens state that he was scary because he seemed so inorganic in comparison so them. I’d imagine he gave them a bit of an uncanny valley feeling, seeing that the Seth and the White Omens also look so similar. Even in the sidequest given by Tweedledee, the Seth do mistake him as one of their own.

Despite this, however, I’d like to believe he had become “corrupted” long before his discoveries on Lost Gaia. With all that been placed on him leading up to his disappearance, why WOULDN’T someone break? Seeing The Horrors™ on Lost Gaia probably just broke him even more. He’s a lot like Aria in that regard. They both had to see the world they came to exist at in shambles. Trauma, both physical and psychological, damages and alters the structure of the brain. This makes me think that what the Omens call “corruption” is actually just an allegory for what they believe to be “altered” behavior resulting from damage in their code.

So then Geist MK-II presumably comes into play. A persona not created by a reboot, but rather a combination of severe corruption and a computer virus (which I will elaborate on shortly). We know that the changes between Geist MK-I and MK-II happened very abruptly, as evident by what Dianthus says. According to her, Geist had become this obsessive, volatile person. His support robot says that he became obsessed with biology and evolution because he was forced to confront his limits as AI. Despite this, we also know that he isn’t utterly unhinged, as he retains his intelligence and goes out of his way to ensure Aria is not harmed when he kidnaps her.

Geist states that the Paradise Journal caused a “bug” in his ethical code. I think what he read definitely corrupted him, but I also believe that Gaia could have hidden a trojan horse virus of sorts within it. This is more easily evident in visual cues seen in Geist’s boss fight, but there’s also a lot I can find in his dialogue by reading between the lines.

In Cres’s character story we’re told exposure to Gaia Dust causes a disease called The Quiet (funnily enough, that’s what Quietus means in English), which kills very quickly. Geist, being a robot, is immune to The Quiet, but he’s not immune computer viruses. So, I’d imagine there’s a connection. Plus, it looks like he’s essentially “coughing up” Gaia Dust when using certain attacks in his boss fight. He, along with Harbinger Aria, also seems to utilize the same red energy that Gaia does.

Then there’s the dialogue cues. He swaps back and forth between two ideals:

On one hand, he’s trying to feed the Abels to Quietus in hopes that at least SOME of may develop an immunity, and eventually they will evolve that immunity as a species. He also expresses extreme guilt, likely as a result of believing what he must do is a necessary evil, and because realizing his own limitations meant that there was little more he could do. He goes as far as to label himself a sinner for stealing “their ability to reason” and wanting a REASON to keep fighting. He doesn’t WANT to kill the Abels, but it’s a necessary evil in his mind. I believe he also secretly wanted Ein to kill him if it meant there really would be a better way.

On the other hand, he’s expressing the belief that humans HAVE to die—he’s giving them their “proper death.” Gaia kept trying to kill all humans because she believed they wanted to die. With the latter position, it sounds more like Geist is being forced into carrying out her bidding, but with the former, it seems like he’s trying to fight whatever instructions he’s being force-fed by the virus. When he’s finally stopped, he seems to revert back to the first idea. He’s also surprised that Ein and co. managed to stop him, and they’ve proven themselves worthy of trying to find a solution. I also think that he secretly wanted to die if it meant Ein could find another way, but it’s difficult to prove or deny that. Either way, he gives them his memory chip, and tells them to retrace his steps. Then he drops a random Metal Gear reference and dies immediately afterwards.

Geist ultimately gets rebooted as Geist MK-III. It’s clear that his memories were left intact, unlike Sorbus, an Omen in a sidequest. He’s also been reconnected to the collective consciousness, and presumably wiped of the virus he had. He goes straight back to Lost Gaia and appears to Ein and co. again, much to their surprise. Shrika notes he does seem to be behaving like an entirely different person.

Unlike his past two selves, this time he comes across like he’s rushed and perpetually hopeless. He retains a few traits he had before, mainly his stubbornness and ability to plan ahead. However, there’s some things he says and does that really makes me think there’s more going on within him than he’s even aware of. Particularly, the way he treats some of the party members.

Geist appears to project his feelings onto the others, going as far as to berate them over feeling differently than he does. For example, Dianthus tries to say she hopes there’s a better solution than the Paradise Project, and Geist immediately shuts down her point. He just… nails it into her that her mindset is flawed and dangerous. He’s absolutely not very nice about it, but in his eyes, hope and wishful thinking is what got him into this mess, so why should he adopt that mindset? He’s only trying to protect Dianthus and keep her from making the same mistakes he did. He also calls back to his former self’s obsessiveness and states that hope “consumes your thoughts.”

He also complains about adverse situations, such as Callistephus blocking Dianthus’s signal. Overall, he comes across like he’s very, very miserable. I can’t really blame him, because once again, the weight of everything has fallen onto his shoulders. At the final choice which determines which ending you’ll get, Geist’s attempts to pressure Ein sound very desperate.

Yet, if you get the good ending where Ein wins the debate, his attitude completely changes. He goes from a miserable, self-loathing person to someone who’s affectionate and supportive. He also seems to embrace his past a little bit, as he states that the back and forth conversations with the party make him nostalgic. He’s likely referring to a time when his creators were still awake. He also anonymously expresses how much he loves humans in his final Castle Lewis Times article.

Ultimately, Geist is a beautiful representative of many things: the chosen one who falls from grace, the trolley problem, and humanity’s willpower. Yet, his story is horrifically sad beneath the surface and he doesn’t even realize how much it impacts him. His character development throughout the game leaves me with lots of questions, the most important one being: What would happen if he came to realize how awful what happened to him really was? Would he go mad again? Or would he take a page from humanity’s book and seek support?
