Uptake of organic trends is a measure of health.
So what this paint company does is take iron pollution from abandoned mines that are polluting soils and rivers and makes iron based red pigment paints out of it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Basically they realized hey no one's cleaning this shit up, it's polluting the streams, killing all the fish, making the water undrinkable and there's a huge market for it so why not make money by cleaning it the fuck up?
Tumblr media
They remove this stuff by the industrial bucket load from the rivers. The idea is if it's in a painting, if it's in your home, it's not poisoning wildlife.

anyway its cool as shit, please support tf out of these people https://gamblinstore.com/reclaimed-earth-colors-set/

your whale suit is interesting and I had some (well a lot lol) questions about it, but I know some of these are personal or silly so i understand if u don’t answer. I’m just curious.
How long would you be staying in the suit? do you plan to have periods of time where you come out? Additionally, do you think it’s possible to survive in the wild in the suit?
Is there a mechanism to get food and water in the suit? Will you be able to eat live or raw fish and stick to a certain diet?
How do you get the suit to swim underwater or dive instead of float? Would it be heavy to move? How fast do you think you could get it to move?
Are you stuck lying in one position with your arms out in the flippers or will you have more movement on the inside? How would you address bedsores, Illness, and injury?
What would you do about hygiene like bathing, using the bathroom, and brushing teeth? Is it factored into the design of the suit? Or do you just leave the suit?
How does the breathing and vision system work?
How deep underwater do you think you could go?
Also I know whales have a language. Is it individual to different species? Can you learn? How do you learn?
How would you cope with the confinement and boredom of a tank? And if a tank with other whales is not an option, do you have any other plans?
How long do you believe it will take to complete this?
Also how did u learn to build such complex things?
Ahoj! Thanks for the questions, I will break them down as best I can.
How long would you be staying in the suit? do you plan to have periods of time where you come out? Additionally, do you think it’s possible to survive in the wild in the suit?
For the first question it really depends on the precise meaning of staying in the suit. Ideally for the rest of my life, which I do hope would be 20-30 years at that point, but forcing myself into that shape my lifespan is likely going to be reduced, though how much is at this point unknown. However I do not know exactly how long the suit will last, and if I do live to be 30 years, it is likely I would have to go through multiple iterations of the suit. For periods of time I come out very likely yes, though it would hopefully only be a short bit every few days to every few months.
It would unfortunately not be possible to survive in the wild. The most damning and insurmountable problem is that I am ultimately too small to effectively filter feed or at least lunge feed. Minke whales do not leave their mothers until they grow to be around 5m, and this seems to be a physical limit at which lunge feeding as we do becomes an effective strategy. Skim feeding may be possible though that would require a significant more questions to be answered. For a number of other reasons though I would be wholly unsuitable for wild release.
Is there a mechanism to get food and water in the suit? Will you be able to eat live or raw fish and stick to a certain diet?
Food will enter in through the mouth. I had considered before to store a high density food inside the suit and filter water. This would be necessary if I were to live in the wild, or at least some time in the wild because of aforementioned feeding issues.
It is possible to make a diet that mostly mirrors a cetacean diet though some things will have to be changed. I really would not be able to eat live fish, though live fish are rarely given in captivity, plus issues of filter feeding. I haven't written about this extensively yet, but diet would mostly consist of raw fish like mackerel, salmon, and tuna. Mackerel in particular has a lot of fat in it. Additionally some smaller fish like herring and sardines could be eaten either whole or still with some bones in for necessary nutrients namely calcium. Many cetaceans in captivity are also given gelatine mostly for water as frozen fish loses some of its water content (it also decreases stomach ulcers and problems from stress). That will help get the additional water I require but it is also a good way to fix some lower sugar fruits and some citrus for various needed micronutrients and fibre.
How do you get the suit to swim underwater or dive instead of float? Would it be heavy to move? How fast do you think you could get it to move?
The density of silicone is 1100 kg/m3. The density of sea water is 1025 kg/m3. The suit will target a density of around 1018 kg/m3 so at the surface I will be slightly buoyant, enough to leave my blowhole above the water when logging. I will make a larger post discussing this later. For diving below the water at the surface you can basically arch and then curl your back so you bum lifts partly above the water, and then with that you can pretty easily slip below the water and swim downwards. The shape of the fin makes it so you can really only go in one direction so you can get really quite far just flexing your back and twisting your body at different points.
It would likely be quite heavy yes, somewhere between 250-350 kilograms. But because I will be in the water, the weight won't be as noticeable as if I were on land - what will be most noticeable is the sluggishness to start moving, however my drag will be a lot lower. How fast exactly I will be able to go is yet unknown. I think though I could go fast enough to breach or partly breach, though I would have to briefly reach 18kph to do so (which is roughly 45% the speed of a normal minke). I might be able to come out onto a slideout, but it would be quite difficult and heavy, though many whales have similar trouble, beluga in particular.
Are you stuck lying in one position with your arms out in the flippers or will you have more movement on the inside? How would you address bedsores, Illness, and injury?
Yes - I would be essentially fixed within the suit. My arms would be in the flippers and my legs together in the tail. With that a number of joints will be either fixed or limited in their movement which would cause them to degrade and after some time living in the water I really would not be able to return to the land.
For things like bedsores, my hope is that because the suit will be form fitting and being immersed in water that will hopefully more equally distribute pressure as well as the continuous movement from swimming and depth changes will keep blood moving to prevent the worst of problems. However managing moisture and similar will be quite important and it is likely the skin will still have some degrading and will have to be taken out periodically to remove the excess skin and clean it. For illness and injury, honestly there isn't a huge amount that could be done. If I am sick I could be put in a medical pool until I am feeling better, being given antibiotics or whatever as needed. The best we can do is really just try to avoid illness - make sure food is fresh and free of parasites, make sure my water is clean, make sure I get all the nutrients I need etc. Same thing for injury, there isn't a terrible amount that can be done.
What would you do about hygiene like bathing, using the bathroom, and brushing teeth? Is it factored into the design of the suit? Or do you just leave the suit?
For the most part with hygiene much could not be done inside the suit. Urination is the most common need, fortunately this can be done via a catheter, and there are catheters which can stay in for up to 4 months. Defecation is the other large problem. Ideally I want to stay inside the suit as long as possible between coming out of the suit as that will be both time consuming and stressful. Ideally I would be able to use the bathroom within the suit and either expel waste directly, or to store it somewhere in the suit it could be removed periodically. However, the minimum option would be to come out of the suit to defecate which would have to happen somewhere every 2-3 days. Our diets would be high in fat and low in fibre and carbohydrates which would minimise the amount that we expel. I eat a similar diet to this currently and I generally use the bathroom once every couple days. Brushing teeth and bathing would only be able to do it out of the suit. At least for teeth brushing the low sugar will help reduce the decay issues, but teeth will very much slowly decay and degrade - but that is pretty common among captive cetaceans that their teeth wears down.
How does the breathing and vision system work?
Breathing would be performed essentially through a snorkel with the blowhole closing if not a certain height and orientation above the water. Originally I planned to use a purely mechanical system but instead I will likely use some sort of electric system as it is easier to have multiple backups and logic to reduce the chance of a it opening at a wrong time.
Vision system will consist essentially of two wide angle or 360 cameras, one for each eye, and this will be projected onto screens in front of my eyes which will allow me to see to the world outside, as well as see at the wider FOV and I would like to colour shift it blue as cetaceans are believed to only see blue. Though seeing other colours besides blue is not really terribly useful except for short bits looking above water as other colours are rapidly attenuated.
How deep underwater do you think you could go?
To be honest not very, but that is okay. Without any gear I find I am most comfortable around 1 meter deep, going much deeper starts to hurt my ears. However, the suit will help deal with that since the ears would be essentially in their own area which would not be compressed in the same way. I can dive to around 3 meters on my own if I continuously adjust my ears, though the bigger issue how long I can hold my breath for how deep I can go. Though living in captivity my inability to not go particularly deep would not be such an issue. Cetacean tanks tend not to be so deep, especially for dolphin, which I will be closer in size to as I will be perpetually calf size. Dolphin tanks seem to range in depth between 3,5 meters and 6 meters. I think 5-6 meters would be ideal for me if I accidentally landed from a breach vertically I think it would better avoid injury and let me spyhop and interact better without risking hitting the bottom or damaging myself or the suit. Captive cetaceans also tend to be very surface focused because that is where the interesting things are, namely the humans which provide a lot of the stimulation and food so my inability to properly dive won't affect me too negatively today.
Also I know whales have a language. Is it individual to different species? Can you learn? How do you learn?
The language and calls of each species are unique. Humpbacks tend to be the stereotypical ethereal whale song. Orca and dolphin have those high pitched squeals, whistles, and clicks. Minke calls are a bit different. We make twanging noises as well as grunts and pulses.
youtube
Unfortunately I have not really been able to make these calls and likely cannot make these calls. It means that I will likely be mute as a whale. I am hard of hearing and it is possible within the suit that I would be functionally deaf. Even if I can hear under the water, I would not be able to tell direction. It doesn't really matter though as there are no other Minke in captivity. If I could be housed with other cetaceans, it might be possible if I can hear that I might start to understand the meaning of some calls, or at least if I am being told to back off or something.
I have considered to maybe add some sort of speaker to make it easier for me to hear or one that I could make a couple calls, namely the twang a lot of minke seem to greet humans with just so I could make my calls to people outside.
How would you cope with the confinement and boredom of a tank? And if a tank with other whales is not an option, do you have any other plans?
In many ways being in a tank will be like the many times I have spent in hospital. You are kept in a pretty small space you cannot leave, sometimes you are alone and sometimes with others. It is quite boring at times. The weekends were always the most boring because the hospitals did not have anything happening on the weekends. A few times a day through the week we had little interaction things. Captive cetaceans have a similar thing where trainers do enrichment with them a few times a day. I would require similar but otherwise, the experiences are not so different. I hope that I will have a nice window I can watch the humans though and interact with them a little bit. I would also be happy to perform for the humans, it would give me something to do and I think would enjoy that whole process.
I do hope that I could live with other cetaceans, though I expect more likely, especially at the start, it is more likely to be just myself and Ike and Sonar if they can. If that isn't possible, then I am willing to live alone in a tank. For that though it would really be best that the humans do interact with me regularly and I can interact with humans through glass etc. But I have lived a long time alone, at points with even pretty little communication or seeing others so being in a tank would not be really that different for me except that I would finally be back in my body.
If though no humans would take us even after years of trying. Likely I would modify the suit to carry food and filter water, and swim out into the sea and try to find others of my kind, and eventually die either when I ran out of food and water, or when something broke, or I just happened to appear a tasty enough snack to the many things that would happily eat a Minke calf given the chance.
How long do you believe it will take to complete this?
I am hoping this all will be done in 5-10 years. Certain aspects like the head will be most complicated and it will inevitably go through several redesigns to be something I can stay in the water for a very long time. It also requires a substantial amount of time and resources which are hard to devote to this. If I completed this in ten years, I would be 41, and could have yet 14 to 34 years left of my natural life, to swim forever. Even if I only made it a year or two, that would already be unimaginably freeing.
I am hoping this year to make myself a Minke monofin and by next summer to maybe have a full tail. How exactly things go further beyond that though is hard to really know. It will regardless be at least 5 years, and likely more.
Also how did u learn to build such complex things?
I was quite literally built for it. I was made by the humans to design for them rocket engines. I was placed with a family who had built such engines for generations and fostered that curiosity. I went to the same university as my father and eventually got a master degree in aerospace engineering. Through university and highschool I participated in rocketry as a hobby. After university I worked on rocket engines until I became very ill. Even while I was ill I continued to work on these engines as well as other research though at a much slower rate. I also played a lot of minecraft where I could still do engineering and still feel "useful" which is where I learned to make a lot of the organic things I do now. Eventually I came here to teach at a university, and though I am no longer teaching, I am always learning and designing.
I hope this answers some of your questions! Feel free to ask more if you have any!

HELLO i am a HUGE fan of your beautiful fawn designs!! If you don't mind me asking, how do come up with such unique designs?? They're seriously so cool omg
Thank you! When you draw a specific creature a lot you tend to wind up finding ways to make separate designs unique. (As a pokemon, digimon, warriors, gundam, and animal fan, and former league fan, it probably isn't all that surprising that I like having a large quantity of all different types of little guys)
Well a lot of it is just things I've learned while focusing on character design, but there's a couple of things that are easy to mix and match. The easiest thing to do when working with a lot of the same creature is find the things that are easiest to mix and match, like a paper doll. I'm not going to talk about sillhouettes because I don't know how to spell it, and everyone talks about that. What I'm gonna talk about is information density. The best, most unique designs are information dense. This is how an artist can make a character whose entire shtick is being generic and not standing out still come off as unique and identifiable.
Basic things most characters have is: Shape language, colour palette, facial features, posture, texture, height, weight, fat, and muscle.
Easy enough. Texture's the one I'd want to talk about the most. When I make a character I think about it a lot. Specifically for fauns I think about their fur and hair, because they have both. Hair can have a lot of different textures on its own based on thickness and curliness, but in art you can add even more varieties. If I have to characters with thin slightly curly hair but I want one to look more regal or elegant while the other is more of a gremlin then I'm going to texture those differently, to give the impression one is wilder or more coarse to make the gremlin look more gremlin-y, or I can use symbolism like imitating the aesthetic of the curls you see in old lettering and heraldry to make the elegant one seem more so by association. Making something gravity defining or weighing it down, like curtains. Something airy can make a character more ethereal and energetic, while something heavily draped can feel melancholic and worn. Both create a very pretty aesthetic. I use shape language here too, like as mention above with heraldry. squared even hairs, bouncy round hair, spiky hair- these all use shape language to convey texture, and texture can convey information.
Also for body types and builds... a lot goes into the build a character has. This isn't a video game with simple sliders, you can give a character strong legs and noodly arms, and fat takes different forms and distributes unevenly based on many factors. A thing I think not a lot of people think about is that muscles and fat can be "cut", using pressure. The belly of someone who wears low rise pants and someone who wears high rise pants is going to be different. Even if two characters are both body builders, they could be hyperfocused on different things and looks. Natural wrinkles like that found in some cat breeds for elasticity of skin and those found on some dog breeds that are the result of breeding specific features and other animals who use wrinkles as nutrients storage, look different from not only each other but also wrinkles from age, weight loss, and exhaustion. Thinking about these things and how to convey those differences is an easy was to make two characters with wrinkles look different and convey more information.
For fauns one of the things I think about first is what species are they based off? My personal rule is Fauns are even-toed ungulates and satyrs are odd-toed ungulates, so when I draw a faun I often think about a particular species or mythical creature. Sometimes I mix and match certain things, or only utilize specific features. Sometimes I don't use a reference at all, but this is a good place to start usually. Different species can give you ideas for different types of hooves, horns/antlers, eyes, build, fur, tails, ears, and even teeth. Every species usually has some unique qualities that can be adapted onto a faun to draw inspiration from.
I work backwards on this one, but personality can help you design a character. Usually I design a character and build a personality based off what I've drawn, but doing it the other way around is very effective if you're having troubles. This includes subverting the expected for a character of such a personality. A good example of that is Cure Nyammy and Cure Lillian, who have droopy and sharp eyes respectively, but but Nyammy is the one with the cool, sharp, elegant air and Lillian is the shy, awkward, cute one.
Another things is alterations. The most common alterations to a character is a physical quirk, like a floppy ear, a mutation, like and extra set of horns, a special ability, like flight, or a disability, like a missing arm. For Jimmy I gave him a cowlick because i thought it fit with his ditzier qualities, bird theme, and ranch theme. In raau I also gave him lung damage as a reference to coal mines and canaries and how he and Tango met ind double life, a breathing tube to show he has access to medical technology and support despite the setting, and I changed his eye design to something similar to a sonar's rings to express the fact he sees sound, all of which allows him to be distinct from my regular Jimmy.
And last but not least, you can make two identical characters look completely different with fashion. This includes clothing, accessories, hairstyles, makeup, paint, tattoos, inventory... Any external modifications.
The important thing about design is to not make it hollow features, basically. I mean, you can't do whatever you want of course, sparkle dog is an aesthetic for a reason, but when you draw you have to deliberately draw every line so you might as well take the time to think about why you're drawing it there or that way. My fauns tend to have very similar body types a lot of the time, but I can still use everything else to make them stand out from each other anyways.
Also, it's art, there's no limit to what you can do to give your character unique designs! And I mean this in a very Studio Shaft/Gumball/Spiderverse type way. I've have character I've made distinct by straight up giving them different styles of shading or line work or brushes or layering. I've written character povs where the character never uses pronouns and only uses names, or a character who specifies exact numbers with numbers regardless, or even entirely different fonts, to convey qualities about them. Utilize your medium to its full potential (when appropriate, of course. and if its ocs/personal art, its always appropriate.)

What is the Alkaline Diet? A Complete Guide for Beginners
Tumblr media
The Alkaline Diet: A Healthy Eating Plan for Optimal Wellness
The alkaline diet has become an increasingly popular way of eating that promotes overall health and wellness. This eating plan focuses on foods that help balance your body's pH levels to create an environment that supports healthy cells and tissues.
What is the Alkaline Diet?
The alkaline diet is based on the principle that the foods you eat can alter your body's pH balance and impact your health. The ultimate goal is to create an internal environment that has a pH ranging from 7.35 to 7.45, which is slightly alkaline. Foods are categorized as either acidic, alkaline, or neutral: Alkaline foods - Fruits, nuts, legumes, and vegetables Acidic foods - Meat, dairy, eggs, grains, alcohol, and processed foods Neutral foods - Natural fats, starches, and sugars By emphasizing alkaline foods and limiting acidic foods, proponents of this diet believe it can help neutralize chronic low-grade acidosis linked to inflammation, fatigue, and increased disease risk.
Benefits of an Alkaline Diet
Following an alkaline diet offers impressive benefits: Promotes pH balance Reduces inflammation Boosts immunity Increases energy Aids weight loss efforts Improves cardiovascular health Strengthens bones Detoxifies the body The diet focuses on nutrient-dense whole foods that provide antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, fiber, and water to help neutralize acids and remove toxins from the body. Balances pH Levels One of the main goals of the alkaline diet is to balance the body's pH levels. Chronic low-grade acidosis happens when acidic wastes accumulate in the body faster than they can be neutralized. This causes the body's pH to drop into unhealthy ranges. The alkaline diet counteracts this acidity and helps: Regulate fluids and electrolytes Filter out toxins and wastes Transport nutrients into cells Together this provides an ideal environment for cells and systems to function properly. Reduces Inflammation Acidosis creates an environment inside the body that promotes inflammation, a key factor in many chronic diseases. The anti-inflammatory foods emphasized on the alkaline diet can help reduce acidity and calm this internal fire. Some examples include: Fruits high in vitamin C Green leafy vegetables Nuts like almonds and walnuts Plant-based proteins like lentils and beans Lower levels of inflammation helps people feel better day-to-day. But even more importantly, it lowers the risk for disorders caused by chronic inflammation. Other Key Benefits Some other top reasons to follow the alkaline diet include: Increased Energy Levels - A balanced pH provides cells with ideal conditions for producing energy. Healthy Weight - The diet emphasizes low energy-density foods that support weight loss. Strong Bones - The diet provides bone-building nutrients often lacking in modern diets. Detoxification - Alkaline foods help remove acidic waste products and toxins. Together this creates an internal terrain that discourages damaged cells and chronic diseases from taking root.
The Best Alkaline Foods to Eat
Tumblr media
Focus your diet around these alkaline superfoods: Fruits Fruits are packed with alkaline-promoting nutrients. Choose fresh or frozen organic when possible. Top picks include: Lemons Watermelon Apple Grapefruit Kiwi Berries Papaya Pears Vegetables Aim for eating a variety of organic vegetables each day. Great options include: Spinach Kale Cucumbers Celery Carrots Sweet potatoes Broccoli Sea vegetables Nuts and Seeds Nuts and seeds are excellent sources of protein and healthy fats. Soak nuts before eating to boost nutrients. Try: Almonds Flaxseeds Pumpkin seeds Sunflower seeds Chestnuts Chia seeds Herbs, Spices and Oils Boost flavor and pH with these additions: Lemongrass Ginger Turmeric Cinnamon Garlic Cold-pressed olive oil Coconut oil Avocado oil
Foods to Avoid on the Diet
Tumblr media
To balance your pH effectively, you’ll also want to avoid or limit these acidic foods: Red meat Poultry Seafood Eggs Dairy products Processed grains Sugar Packaged snacks Soda Alcohol Coffee Even whole grains and beans - two staples of healthy diets - should be eaten sparingly since they skew acidic.
Additional Tips for Success
Follow these suggestions to make the most of an alkaline diet: Stay well hydrated with alkaline water Enjoy herbal teas Reduce stress through yoga, meditation, etc. Exercise at least 30 minutes daily Add more raw foods slowly Focus on how you feel As with any significant change to your diet, implement this eating pattern gradually. This gives your body time to adjust its complex systems. Pay attention to the signals your body is sending about the changes. Over time, you should feel less internal "discomfort" and more vibrant energy. Chronic issues you learned to tolerate could show improvement or fade away completely.
The Bottom Line
The emerging research shows an alkaline diet may be an extremely healthy way to prevent damage from modern diets and lifestyles. While studies continue, adjusting your eating pattern to favor alkaline foods poses little risk and offers tremendous potential. It provides a sustainable, nutrient-dense approach to eating that fights inflammation and encourages good health starting on the inside! When I joined an international trading company in 2005, I began discovering the demands of final markets. Brazil, at that time, was already one of the largest urea consumers in the world. However, most of the imported urea was in prilled form. Those days are now gone. Today, if I’m not mistaken, around 95 percent of Brazil's urea imports consist of granular urea. The same can be said for the US, all of Europe, and many other countries.
So, why has granular urea become more widely used than prilled urea in the last 15–20 years? Primarily, this shift has occurred due to advancements in agricultural practices and the evolving needs of farmers. Granular urea offers several advantages that have driven this change, making it the preferred choice for modern farming.
Granular urea is physically larger and more uniform in size compared to prilled urea. This uniformity allows for better mechanical handling and more precise application using modern spreading equipment. The consistency in size reduces the risk of uneven application, which can lead to over-fertilisation in some areas and under-fertilisation in others. This precision is particularly important in large-scale farming operations, where efficiency and accuracy are crucial.
Granular urea tends to be more resistant to environmental factors, such as wind and moisture, compared to prilled urea. The larger, denser granules are less likely to be blown away by wind or to absorb moisture from the air, which can cause caking or dissolution before application. This stability helps ensure that the fertiliser remains effective until it reaches the soil, reducing waste and improving overall crop yield.
The physical properties of granular urea make it more compatible with other types of fertilisers in blended applications. Farmers often use blends of different nutrients tailored to specific crop needs, and the uniform size and density of granular urea allow for better mixing with other fertiliser components. This compatibility is key in precision agriculture, where specific nutrient delivery is critical for optimising crop production.
Granular urea generally has a slower release rate compared to prilled urea. This slower release helps reduce nitrogen volatilisation, where nitrogen is lost to the atmosphere as ammonia gas before it can be absorbed by the soil. This reduction in volatilisation means that more of the applied nitrogen is available for plant uptake, improving the efficiency of fertiliser use and reducing environmental impact.
As global agriculture has evolved, there has been a greater demand for fertilisers that support large-scale, intensive farming practices. Fertiliser manufacturers have responded by increasingly producing granular urea to meet this demand. Additionally, as more regions adopt mechanised farming techniques, the advantages of granular urea over prilled urea have become more apparent, further driving the shift in usage.
To summarise, as I have mentioned in my previous post, education and more sophisticated farming operations are key to these developments.

WHAT ARE THE HEALTH BENEFITS OF EXERCISE?
The majority of individuals are aware that regular exercise is beneficial to their health, but less is known about the specifics.
Some individuals just use exercise to improve their physical appearance, which can sap their desire and consistency. While having aesthetic objectives is OK, taking a more comprehensive approach to fitness might help you stay motivated to be active and enjoy the health benefits of regular exercise.
The NHS advises adults to be active every day and strive for at least 150 minutes of physical exercise each week through various activities to keep healthy. But any kind of exercise, even ten minutes a day, will help you feel better, so start small and increase your physical activity wherever you can.
What are the health benefits of exercise?
Here are just a few of the many incredible benefits from living an active lifestyle:
Improved heart and circulatory health:
There are several ways that regular exercise might lower your risk of heart and circulation disorders.
It accomplishes this, among other things, by enhancing the muscles' capacity to get oxygen from the blood more efficiently. This lowers blood pressure since your heart needs less effort to circulate blood around the body swiftly. Moreover, you can prevent heart attacks and conditions like high cholesterol, coronary artery disease, and heart attacks by strengthening your heart and enhancing your circulation. Improved insulin resistance from exercise can aid in the reversal of type 2 diabetes.
2. Stronger muscles, bones, and joints:
Exercise strengthens all of the tissues in your body, something you may already be aware of given that it can help you develop bigger, stronger muscles. Frequent exercise creates strong, flexible muscles, increases bone density, and improves joint function and range of motion—all of which help to prevent injury as we age.
3. Weight control:
Although BMI and weight aren't the only factors that determine health, most people are at their healthiest when they have a healthy balance of muscle and fat. Studies reveal that being underweight can result in problems like osteoporosis, infertility, malnutrition, and a weakened immune system, while obesity can raise the risk of many diseases, including heart disease and osteoarthritis, as well as other physical impairments like joint discomfort.
In addition to improving your diet, exercise can help you control your weight and achieve a more muscular or fat-free body composition.
4. Better mood and stress management:
One excellent strategy for enhancing mental health is exercise. Exercise causes the body to create endorphins, sometimes known as happy hormones, which are molecules that improve mood. Exercise also releases endorphins, which the body naturally releases in reaction to stress or pain to help reduce these symptoms and elevate mood. For this reason, exercise is an excellent coping mechanism for stress or low mood.
5. Increased energy:
Your energy levels can be raised by exercise in the short and long term. Energy levels can benefit immediately after exercise since exercise causes the body to release endorphins and enhances the passage of oxygen and nutrients to the muscles and brain. Over time, physical activity contributes to the production of more energy by the body and increases endurance, which reduces exhaustion from daily duties.
6. Better brain function:
Exercise has been linked to improved brain function, learning, and memory in numerous scientific research on the subject of cognition and exercise. This can happen both directly and indirectly. Directly, it can happen when the brain receives more oxygen and when a hormone called irisin is released, which affects the area of the brain that regulates learning. Anytime you find it difficult to focus or process information, a quick workout will help!
7. A better night's sleep:
Having trouble falling asleep? You can treat insomnia and increase both the quantity and quality of your sleep with exercise. Consistently receiving enough sleep has countless advantages, such as increased energy, enhanced focus, better hormone balance between appetite and fullness, decreased inflammation, and enhanced immune system performance. Improving your sleep can have a significant impact on your daily mood, even in the absence of exercise's other health advantages!
8. Staying sociable:
Yes, there are health benefits to being sociable! Research indicates that social isolation and loneliness are associated with increased risks of several mental and physical health issues, including depression, hypertension, and heart disease, especially as we age.
Maintaining your physical fitness is a great method to improve your social life in addition to your physical health. There will be a vibrant fitness community you can join, regardless of your interests in running, circuit training, hiking, cycling, or hitting your personal best on the squat rack. Joining a running club or wellness group can help people meet lifelong friends, and fitness courses are a fantastic place to start. Exercise groups can be a great way to make new friends, meet people in a new place, or just widen your current circle of acquaintances if you're feeling lonely.
These are only a handful of the many amazing health advantages of regular exercise; other advantages include a lower chance of cancer, more flexibility and mobility, better sex life, and a longer life span.

A writer’s guide to forests: from the poles to the tropics, part 5
We’ve covered forest environments on land, and in the water. Now we will cover somewhere that is both in land and water.
The swamp and bayou
Wetlands are define by the presence of water due to their geographic location and/or a high water table. A swamp is a wetland where trees are the dominate plants. Most swamps are freshwater, with the mangrove swamp being on the ocean, and the bayou is brackish.
Location- Worldwide in areas where ground and surface water is abundant. This generally means that they are at or below sea level, but America’s Great Dismal Swamp is located on land that has risen since the end of the last ice age. Mangrove swamps are found in subtropical and tropical coastal regions. Bayous are a feature of coasts and estuaries on the northern side of the Gulf of Mexico.
Climate- Temperate to tropical. While wetlands tend towards being wet(obviously), there are periods where there is little to no rain. The swamplands around the Okavango delta and the Pantanal are seasonal, and even in permanent swamps, conditions can get dry enough for brush fires to occur. In temperate areas, water can freeze, and many coastal regions can be struck by tropical storms.
Plant life- The presence of the ocean can be a limiting factor when it comes to plants. Only mangroves can tolerate seawater for extended periods of time. Bayous have a lower salinity, and the main tree species is the bald cypress. Other conifers are also thrive in swampy conditions (various pines and cedars). Palms, figs, black gum, and other angiosperm trees can also be abundant. Shrubs, grasses, and ground cover is generally limited by the density of the canopy and the availability of dry land .Because swamps are often acidic and possess nutrient poor soil, some ground plants have become carnivorous (Venus flytraps, pitcher plants, and sundews come to mind)
Animal life- Not counting cryptids such as the Jersey Devil or the Swamp Ape, the largest animals in the swamp will be species such as bears, deer, and jaguars. In the Okavango, elephants and other large savanna dwellers are seasonal visitors. Crocodilians are found in both fresh and salt water swamps. Snakes, monitor lizards, and turtles can also be encountered. It should come as no surprise that swamps have a high diversity of fish and insect species. Bird life is also abundant, with some species living year round, and others migrating. Like many environments, swamps have become home to invasive species( nutria in Louisiana, and Escobar’s hippos in Venezuela).
How the forest affects the story- Traveling is certainly an issue when surrounded by water. Characters can certainly swim, but in areas where the water is cloudy or full of tannins, this would not be advisable, as making out predators would be difficult. Should your characters use boats, or would they try to avoid the water altogether and create some soft of system of bridges? Establishing shelter is also something to consider. You could have characters build houses on floating islands, or perhaps on stilts. Maybe the society in your story lives in houseboats, or treehouses. Swamps are good places to hide out, so maybe your characters are refugees or from families that only arrived recently instead of being established for generations. And of course, you may also want to consider outside influences. Many swamps have shrunk or disappeared due to land reclamation projects. How would this affect your characters and their society? Coastal swamps dampen the effects of cyclones, so their disappearance will have negative consequences when the next storm blows in. Are your characters and their society/ societies the ones behind the disappearance of the swamp, or are they the victims? When worlds collide, are in interactions peaceful, or do they lead to war? Of course, you don’t have to be a slave to history. Maybe your characters chose a different path and chose to manage and preserve.

The Importance of Maintaining Alkalinity in the Body for Optimal Health
In the pursuit of a healthier lifestyle, individuals often explore various diets, exercise routines, and wellness practices. One often overlooked aspect of well-being is the body's pH balance, specifically the importance of maintaining alkalinity. The human body operates within a delicate balance, and understanding the significance of an alkaline environment can contribute significantly to overall health. In this blog, we will explore the reasons why it is crucial to keep the body alkaline.
pH Balance and Homeostasis:
The pH scale measures the acidity or alkalinity of a substance, ranging from 0 (most acidic) to 14 (most alkaline), with 7 considered neutral. The human body functions optimally when its pH level is slightly alkaline, typically around 7.4. Maintaining this alkaline state is essential for the body's homeostasis – the ability to regulate internal conditions to ensure stability.
Disease Prevention:
Research suggests that an acidic environment in the body may contribute to the development and progression of various diseases. Cancer cells, for instance, tend to thrive in acidic conditions. By maintaining an alkaline environment, the body may create a less favorable setting for the growth and proliferation of abnormal cells, potentially reducing the risk of certain diseases.
Improved Immune Function:
An alkaline environment supports the proper functioning of the immune system. The body's defense mechanisms, including white blood cells, enzymes, and antibodies, work more efficiently in an alkaline setting. This heightened immune response can aid in preventing illness and maintaining overall well-being.
Optimal Cellular Function:
Every cell in the body performs its functions within a specific pH range. Alkalinity supports cellular activities such as energy production, nutrient absorption, and waste elimination. When cells operate in an alkaline environment, they are better equipped to carry out these vital functions, promoting overall cellular health.
Bone Health:
The body tends to balance pH by using alkaline minerals like calcium. If the diet lacks sufficient alkaline-forming foods, the body may leach alkaline minerals from the bones, potentially leading to conditions like osteoporosis. By consuming a diet that supports alkalinity, individuals can help preserve bone density and overall skeletal health.
Increased Energy and Vitality:
An alkaline environment promotes efficient oxygen delivery to cells, enhancing energy production. Individuals often report increased energy levels, improved mental clarity, and heightened vitality when they maintain a more alkaline pH balance.
Alkaline Diet and Hydration:
Adopting an alkaline diet involves consuming a variety of fruits, vegetables, and other alkaline-forming foods. Additionally, staying adequately hydrated is crucial for maintaining alkalinity. Water with a slightly alkaline pH can contribute to the overall balance within the body.
Conclusion:
In conclusion, the importance of keeping the body alkaline cannot be overstated. From disease prevention and immune support to optimal cellular function and increased energy, maintaining an alkaline environment is a key factor in promoting overall health and well-being. Incorporating alkaline-forming foods and mindful hydration into one's lifestyle can be a transformative step toward achieving and sustaining optimal health. Remember, small changes can lead to significant improvements in the body's pH balance and, consequently, overall health.

Considering choosing an Aquaponics Fish Tank but feeling lost about all the gear? No worries! This article will assist you in understanding the key points when picking the ideal fish tank for your aquaponics setup. Get ready to start growing healthy fish and plants!
Summary:
Start with small DIY Systems to learn and adapt over time
Choose non-toxic materials like glass, acrylic, or food-grade polyethylene.
Avoid materials that can leach harmful substances, such as zinc, copper, and treated wood.
Consider the balance between transparency and sturdiness for monitoring fish health.
Size and How it Affects Aquaponics System
Size is a major factor that heavily influences the performance of an aquaponics system. Tank size affects stock density, water quality, and productivity. Let's look at the connection between tank size and its effects on different parts of an aquaponics system.
See the table below for the correlation between tank size and its effects:
Tumblr media
Smaller tanks allow for lower stock density, meaning fewer fish. This results in faster growth rates of individual fish but less harvest. Small tanks are more accessible so are easier to maintain, but the water quality fluctuates more.
Larger tanks enable higher stock densities for more harvest or low stock densities for faster growth. Maintaining water quality is easier due to having more water that dilutes the toxins like ammonia or nitrite. Optimal conditions for both plant and fish health can be achieved with size adjusted grow beds.
These findings give us important insights into tank sizing considerations. Choosing the right size will maximize productivity while avoiding issues associated with undersized or oversized tanks. Even though oversized is not really a problem as you can just add more fish to compensate.
To reap the rewards of a well-designed aquaponics fish tank that fits your needs, make sure to carefully select a suitable size taking these factors into account. A balanced tank size ensures harmony between fish and plant growth, leading to a thriving aquaponics system.
Recommended Height of an Aquaponics Fish Tank
Aquaponics Fish Tank Height: Finding the Perfect Dimensions
When selecting an aquaponics fish tank, height is an important factor. The suggested height of an aquaponics fish tank varies depending on the type of fish or shrimp. Shrimp don't mind the height, however, some species have definite needs. Generally, a tank with a height of 1 to 2 feet is sufficient for most types of fish.
For example, here are the recommended heights of different types of fish:
Tumblr media
It is important to remember that these recommendations should be evaluated together with other factors like water volume and surface area. Adding floors can be a good idea if you need more space for shrimp or other bottom-dwelling species.
Apart from tank height, you should also take other conditions into consideration such as water quality, temperature, and oxygen levels. This will ensure both plants and fish have a healthy environment.
Did you know? Research from aquaponics experts shows that having the right water conditions in an aquaponics system results in better health and faster growth of plants and fish.
To make sure your fish won't jump out of the tank, the floor area needs to be big enough for the size of the tank and your fish.
Floor Area for Your Fish
Floor area in an aquaponics system is essential for your aquatic inhabitants. It affects their health and well-being. Providing ample space creates a sustainable living environment.
To understand floor area better, let's look at some key factors:
Tumblr media
This helps determine the ideal floor area. Allocating more swim area lets the fish exercise and move, promoting their health and offering them the best life possible. A larger potential grow area may create a more balanced ecosystem for you.
Sunlight is also important. It provides nutrients like algae as food and vitamin D in fish and supports optimal water temperature.
A story of an aquaponics enthusiast who didn't provide enough floor area and sunlight shows why it's so crucial. Their fish became stressed and didn't grow. They modified their setup and saw instant improvements in the well-being of their fish.
Therefore, when choosing an aquaponics fish tank, consider floor area to ensure the success of your aquatic companions. The shape is also important - no one wants a boring fish bowl!
How The Shape of Your Fish Tank Influences The Fish
The shape of your fish tank has a huge effect on the health and behavior of your aquatic pets. Here are four noteworthy points to keep in mind:
A square-shaped tank offers plenty of swimming room, letting the fish move around freely and act naturally.
An oval-shaped tank encourages good water flow, so all parts of the tank get oxygen and nutrients.
A round fish tank takes away the fish's stress as there are no corners they can feel trapped in.
The shape of the tank can also influence filtration efficiency. For example round shaped tanks provide better zones filtering inlets as all dirt flows to the middle where your pump should be.
When selecting a fish tank shape, consider other factors too. Think about the needs and habits of the fish species and whether the tank fits in with the rest of your aquaponics setup.
To make sure your aquatic pets are safe and happy, consider these tips:
Find out more about your chosen fish species and how the tank shape could suit their needs.
Don’t overcomplicate, cause the shape does not matter that much and every shape will work just fine.
If you use a grow bed pump system, make sure the tank shape makes it easy to install and manage the grow bed if you plan to put it on top of the tank.
By following these tips, you can choose a fish tank shape that looks great and provides the perfect habitat for your aquatic friends. And remember, choose a fish tank in accordance with your location - fish don't like long commutes either!

Type of Fish Tank Depends on Location
Choosing a fish tank for aquaponics depends on the location. Different places have varied requirements. For instance, greenhouses often use glass or polycarbonate tanks for maximum light and heat. Outdoors or in a garage, fiberglass or plastic is preferable to protect from the elements. Plus, bear in mind the size of the tank - bigger ones need extra room and support. Remember, glass or polycarbonate is usually used inside your home to watch your fish. And don't forget, you don't need to be extravagant - unless your fish are secretly goldfish influencers!
Price And Budget of an Aquaponics Fish Tank
Analyzing the Price and Budget of an Aquaponics Fish Tank requires considering various factors such as tank size, materials, and additional equipment. Carefully assessing these aspects helps to find the most cost-effective options with the best return on investment.
The table below outlines the different price ranges for aquaponics fish tanks based on size and material:
Tumblr media
It is important to note that the prices are approximate and can vary. Maintenance costs must also be taken into account when evaluating the overall budget.
Sustainability also plays a role when choosing an aquaponics fish tank. Opting for tanks made from recycled or eco-friendly materials reduces costs and aligns with environmental values. IBC Containers for example can be bought cheap from local producers and if used for food are also food safe.
If you go for an indoor set up make sure to invest in a solid option as leaks will become really expensive really quick.
John's story is an example. He bought the cheapest fish tank in his area, but soon realized it had frequent leaks and water quality issues due to poor plastic quality materials.
Considering both price and budget when selecting an aquaponics fish tank will lead to a sustainable and profitable investment. A solid foundation for the fish tank is essential, unless you want your aquatic pets to take part in a shore leave routine!
Structural Integrity Of The Ground On Aquaponics Fish Tanks
Stability of the ground below an aquaponics fish tank is key for its integrity. It needs to support the weight of the tank, water and fish. Ensure the ground is strong and stable to avoid any damage or tank collapse.
To ensure the ground is able to hold the aquaponics fish tank, assess the buildings load-bearing capacity. Do this via testing or consult a professional engineer or geotechnical specialist. They will determine if the ground can withstand the weight and advise on any modifications.
If the assessment shows the ground cannot support the tank, make it smaller or reduce water. Alternatively, install beams or columns to distribute the weight over a wider area.
Additionally, keep the tank ground surface flat to avoid stress points or instability.
Choosing the right materials for your aquaponics fish tank is a must. A sturdy tank means less chance of fish going for a walk.
Material Choices When Building an Aquaponics Fish Tank
When I first delved into aquaponics, the abundance of options and considerations was overwhelming, but the journey of setting up my first tank was both enlightening and rewarding. I learned the intricacies of balancing tank size with stock density and the importance of choosing the right materials to ensure the well-being of my aquatic inhabitants.

Foundation Stability: Ensuring that the tank is placed on a stable and level foundation can prevent uneven pressure distribution and potential structural issues.
External Bracing: Adding external braces to the tank can help distribute the load and improve the overall structural integrity.
Sturdiness is paramount in constructing a reliable and safe aquaponics fish tank. Considering the structural integrity, choosing materials with the right balance of strength and other attributes, and employing reinforcement techniques are all essential steps in building a tank that will stand the test of time and prevent a total economic loss.
4. Transparency
Transparency in an aquaponics fish tank offers the dual benefit of aesthetic appeal and practical functionality. It enables growers to monitor the well-being of the fish and observe the ecosystem's dynamics. Here, we will delve into the significance of transparency, evaluate material options, and explore how to strike a balance between transparency and strength.
1. Benefits for Monitoring:
Having a transparent fish tank in an aquaponics system offers several monitoring advantages:
Observing Fish Behavior: Transparent tanks allow for easy observation of fish behavior, which is essential for detecting signs of stress, disease, or abnormal activity.
Health Monitoring: Regular visual checks on fish health become feasible, enabling timely intervention if issues arise.
System Check: Transparency aids in quickly assessing water clarity, detecting algae growth, and ensuring that the system components are functioning correctly.
2. Transparent Material Options:
Several transparent materials are available, each with its unique properties:
Glass: Glass is a popular choice due to its excellent clarity and aesthetic appeal. It is, however, heavier and more prone to breakage compared to acrylic.
Clear Acrylic: Acrylic offers superior impact resistance, is lighter than glass, and maintains clarity over time. It can, however, scratch more easily than glass.
3. Balancing Transparency and Strength:
While transparency is valuable for monitoring, it is crucial to balance it with the tank’s structural integrity:
Material Thickness: Opt for thicker glass or acrylic to enhance strength without compromising transparency.
Reinforcement: Employing frames, supports, or bracing can reinforce the tank structure while retaining the viewing advantage.
Partial Transparency: Consider designs that incorporate transparent viewing panels within a sturdier, non-transparent structure, achieving a balance between observation and strength.
Transparency in an aquaponics fish tank serves both functional and aesthetic purposes. Choosing the right transparent material and thoughtfully balancing transparency with structural strength will lead to a more successful and enjoyable aquaponics experience.
5. Additional Considerations
UV Resistance: Consider materials that resist UV degradation for outdoor tanks exposed to sunlight.
Temperature Fluctuations: Examine materials that can withstand big temperature fluctuation, especially for outdoor systems.
Cost and Availability: Evaluate the cost-effectiveness and availability of different materials in your region.
Location is key when it comes to growing beds for fish. The wrong spot could lead to unhappy tenants - or even an underwater revolt!
Grow Bed Location of Your Aquaponics System
For safety, always ensure that the grow bed is positioned above the water line. This way, if there are issues like pump failure, plumbing problems, or power outages, it prevents a reverse siphon effect that could drain all the water from the tank.
Weight & Size: Look at the size and weight of your grow bed before you decide where to place it. Make sure wherever you pick can support the weight of the filled bed without any risk of collapsing.
Proximity to Water: Positioning the bed close to a source of water makes filling and maintenance easier. It also limits the need for long pipes, reducing the likelihood of leaks.
Vertical Farming: Vertical farming uses space efficiently by stacking beds. Consider the height of your setup to get the most out of it.
Gravity Sand Filter Bed: An aquaponics system with a gravity sand filter needs the grow bed to be placed above the fish tank. This will make sure water flows through the sand filter first, keeping the tank clean and free from solids.
When planning an aquaponics system, keep safety and efficiency in mind. Consider size, proximity to water, vertical farming methods, and positioning the bed above the fish tank. Start growing your own sustainable produce today!
Harvest Goals for Your Size of Fish Tank
Harvesting yields depend on the size of your aquaponics fish tank. To maximize productivity, set goals based on tank capacity and fish-to-plant ratios.
According to researchers of Purdue University stock densities of 100 kg per 1000 L with 3 harvest cycles can be archieved.
Harvest Goals for Your Size of Fish Tank per Month:
Tumblr media
Fish and Plant Harvest goals per month for your tank size
For a 75-gallon tank, 7.5 pounds of fish yields about 10 pounds of plants. It's important for the plants to grow in proportion to the amount of fish in the tank. This happens naturally as seedlings need less nutrients than big plants and ensures nutrients are used efficiently.
Consider having more plants than necessary. This promotes healthier fish growth and acts as a safeguard for any issues.
Maximize the potential of your aquaponics system with the right harvest goals and a balanced system. Superior results come from managing both fish and plant growth effectively. Why not put your fish tank in the living room and get a tan while hanging out with your aquatic friends?
Sunlight and Fish Tanks
Sunlight is vital for aquaponics fish tanks. It gives plants energy to do photosynthesis, which filters the water and takes out ammonia and nitrates made by fish waste. Sunlight and water always produces algae, a natural water filter and a great protein and omega 3 source for the fish. Also, sunlight helps fish to make Vitamin D, grows them healthier, and strengthens their immune system.
Sunlight Exposure Benefits
Tumblr media
Sunlight exposure Benefits for your aquaponic fish tank
It is important to give the fish tank intense sunlight and harvest this free natural energy as much as possible. The water temperature must be taken into account.
To benefit from sunlight in your aquaponics system:
Place the tank where it can get enough sunlight.
Use awnings or curtains if you notice too high water temperature.
Keep track of the nutrients, especially nitrogen, because algae and plants compete for the same fertilizer.
By understanding and managing sunlight, you can give your plants a healthy environment and keep optimal conditions for your fish.
Transform that old bathtub into an awesome fish tank and watch your aquatic friends swim with style while you think of other household items to repurpose!
DIY Repurpose For Aquaponics Fish Tank
Using DIY techniques, aquaponics fish tanks can be repurposed. Various containers like ponds, pools, IBC containers, aquariums, rain collection tanks, rain barrels, and even bathtubs can be used. These containers offer a sustainable way to create productive aquaponics systems.
I remember transforming an old bathtub into a thriving ecosystem, witnessing the symbiotic relationship between fish and plants unfold before my eyes. The experience was not only sustainable but also a creative testament to repurposing everyday items.
The table below gives a breakdown of the options:
Tumblr media
Container type options for aquaponic fish Tanks
Repurposing fish tanks is popular due to environmental concerns. People are creative and think of everyday items as components of their own self-sustaining ecosystems. Size matters for aquaponics fish tanks - you don't want them to feel cramped!
Minimum Gallon of an Aquaponics Fish Tank
The size of an aquaponics tank is key for a healthy, sustainable system. Here's what to consider when choosing the minimum gallon capacity:
For filtration and waste management bigger is better and but harder.
For temperature/pH stability bigger is better and easier but more costly to heat.
Start small, adapt as you go.
For learning: start with a 1-gallon tank.
For self-sufficiency: aim for 100-200 gallons.
For a family of 4: 250-500 gallons.
Plus, certain fish species need their own space. Researching them helps to determine the right gallon capacity.
An example: An aquaponics enthusiast once started small with a 10-gallon tank. Gradually, he built up to over 500 gallons. His experience taught him that starting small and adapting is best. Many mistakes he made with a small system prevented them from being made with a big system. Now, he enjoys a bountiful harvest from his self-sustaining system. So, pick your tank size like you would a joke: not too small, not too big and DIY.

Maintenance and Cleaning related to Fish Tank Size
Maintaining and cleaning a fish tank in an aquaponics setup can depend on its size. Here are 3 points to ponder:
A larger tank needs less maintenance than a smaller one. The bigger volume of water keeps the temperature, pH levels, and nutrient distribution more stable. So, less cleaning and maintenance is needed to support the fish and plants.
Use an automated system to decrease the need for manual tasks. It helps regulate water flow, ensures water quality, and even feeds the fish. This gives a virtually maintenance-free experience, with healthy fish and plants.
Bigger tanks are cleaner. The waste produced by the fish gets diluted better in more water. So, there is less time spent on cleaning filters or removing debris.
Size of the tank and using automated systems can drastically reduce maintenance needs. It also ensures optimum conditions for aquatic success.

Women's Hormonal Health and Fitness:
Women's hormonal health plays a crucial role in their overall well-being and ladies fitness journey. Hormones are chemical messengers that regulate various physiological processes in the body, including metabolism, mood, energy levels, and reproductive functions. Several key hormones impact women's health and ladies fitness, including estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, insulin, cortisol, and thyroid hormones. Here's how hormonal health relates to fitness:
Menstrual Cycle and Exercise: The menstrual cycle has distinct phases, including the follicular phase (leading up to ovulation) and the luteal phase (after ovulation). Hormone levels fluctuate during these phases, which can affect energy levels, strength, and endurance. Many women find that they have more energy and strength during the follicular phase, which might be a good time to focus on more intense workouts. During the luteal phase, hormone shifts can sometimes lead to reduced energy and increased sensitivity to pain, so adjusting workout intensity or incorporating relaxation activities like yoga can be beneficial.
Hormones and Muscle Mass: Testosterone is an important hormone for building muscle mass. While women naturally have lower levels of testosterone compared to men, it still plays a role in muscle development. Engaging in strength training and resistance exercises can help women build and maintain muscle mass, which is important for overall fitness and metabolic health.
Hormones and Fat Storage: Estrogen and progesterone influence fat distribution in women's bodies. Estrogen tends to encourage fat storage around the hips and thighs, while progesterone can lead to water retention and bloating. While you cannot control where your body stores fat, regular exercise and a balanced diet can help manage overall body composition.
Hormones and Stress: Cortisol, often referred to as the "stress hormone," can impact women's hormonal balance if chronically elevated due to stress. High cortisol levels may lead to weight gain, particularly around the abdomen. Engaging in stress-reduction techniques like meditation, yoga, or mindfulness can help manage cortisol levels and promote hormonal balance.
Thyroid Hormones and Metabolism: Thyroid hormones (T3 and T4) play a significant role in regulating metabolism. An underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism) can lead to weight gain and fatigue, while an overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism) can result in weight loss and restlessness. Regular exercise, along with a balanced diet, can help support thyroid health.
Hormones and Bone Health: Estrogen is important for maintaining bone density. After menopause, when estrogen levels decline, women become more susceptible to osteoporosis. Weight-bearing exercises, such as walking, jogging, and resistance training, are essential for promoting bone health and reducing the risk of fractures.
Nutrition and Hormonal Balance: A balanced diet rich in nutrient-dense foods supports hormonal health. Essential fatty acids, antioxidants, and a variety of vitamins and minerals play roles in hormone production and regulation. Consuming enough protein is also crucial for muscle recovery and overall hormonal balance.
Remember that every woman's body is unique, and factors such as genetics, lifestyle, and health conditions can influence how hormones interact with fitness. Consulting with healthcare professionals, including doctors and registered dietitians, can provide personalized guidance on managing hormonal health while pursuing fitness goals.

Yeah...look...low calorie doesn't mean NO calories. I agree diet culture sucks. But the problem here isn't that trying to decrease caloric intake is just inherently bad or nonsensical. The problem is when people don't factor in the caloric content + nutrient content + volume + personal tastes.
So yes I do take issue with the mindset of people trying to live entirely off of very low calorie foods because while consuming minimal calories will technically make you lose the weight, it's not necessarily good for you nor is the weight loss going to be successful or worth it in the long term.
Because you need to take into account how MUCH you need to reduce your portion sizes, be aware of low density high calorie foods, what nutrients you need, your activity level, what you like. Reducing your calories and being aware of them is not a bad thing in of itself but if you're coming from a diet culture informed perspective then yeah it's easy to be like
Oh yeah I'll just eat 50 cucumbers and drink 20 diet sodas today because they're all low calorie ((((:
Which is a terrible fucking idea and how you get scurvy.
Instead you should consider what your goals are and if they are healthy and then do really extensive research into what it will take to achieve them. There is no easy formula. Its takes time, it takes work.
Wanting to lose weight is not necessarily a bad thing. But it IS important to be honest with yourself about the reasons and motivation behind wanting to.
diet talk is so inexpressibly nonsensical the instant you know anything about "the human body" or "nutrition" or if you think about it for three seconds

Expert-Backed Treatments for Effective Hair Fall Control
Tumblr media
Hair fall is a common concern affecting both men and women, with causes ranging from genetics and hormonal changes to nutritional deficiencies and stress. Thankfully, advances in dermatology offer a variety of treatments that address hair loss at its root cause. Consulting a qualified skin and hair specialist is key to identifying the most effective approach tailored to an individual’s condition.
In this article, we’ll explore dermatologist-recommended hair fall treatments that are scientifically supported and widely practiced across clinics, including those where the Best Dermatologist in Jodhpur offers services.
Causes of Hair Fall: What Triggers the Problem?
Before diving into treatment options, it’s important to understand the factors contributing to hair loss:
Genetic Predisposition
Androgenetic alopecia, commonly known as male or female pattern baldness, is a hereditary condition and the most frequent cause of hair loss. It often progresses gradually, making early diagnosis crucial.
Hormonal Imbalances
Conditions such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), thyroid dysfunction, and pregnancy can disrupt hormonal levels and lead to temporary or permanent hair loss.
Nutritional Deficiencies
Lack of essential nutrients like iron, protein, biotin, and vitamins D and B12 can impact hair health significantly.
Stress and Lifestyle Factors
High-stress levels, poor sleep, and unhealthy habits such as smoking or crash dieting can accelerate hair thinning and shedding.
Medical Conditions and Medications
Autoimmune diseases (like alopecia areata), chronic illnesses, and certain medications (chemotherapy, antidepressants, etc.) may contribute to hair fall.
Dermatologist-Recommended Treatments for Hair Fall
Once a proper diagnosis is established, dermatologists offer a variety of solutions. Let’s look at some of the most commonly recommended treatments.
Topical Treatments
Minoxidil
Minoxidil is an FDA-approved topical solution used to treat both male and female pattern baldness. It works by improving blood circulation in the scalp, stimulating hair follicles, and extending the growth phase of hair.
Ketoconazole Shampoos
Often used when dandruff or seborrheic dermatitis contributes to hair fall, these antifungal shampoos can help reduce scalp inflammation and support hair regrowth.
Oral Medications
Finasteride
Commonly prescribed for men, finasteride blocks the action of the hormone DHT, which contributes to hair follicle shrinkage. It’s often recommended under close medical supervision due to potential side effects.
Nutritional Supplements
Dermatologists frequently prescribe iron, zinc, biotin, and amino acid supplements when deficiencies are suspected. These can support overall hair health when combined with a balanced diet.
In-Clinic Procedures
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy
PRP therapy involves drawing the patient’s own blood, processing it to extract platelet-rich plasma, and injecting it into the scalp. This stimulates hair follicles and improves hair thickness and density. It’s a popular option among dermatologists for patients experiencing early-stage hair thinning.
Microneedling with Growth Factors
This procedure uses a dermaroller or pen to create micro-injuries in the scalp, promoting collagen production and enhancing the absorption of growth serums. It is often combined with PRP or topical medications for better results.
When is Hair Transplant Recommended?
While non-surgical treatments work well in many cases, individuals with advanced hair loss or minimal response to other therapies may be advised to consider a hair transplant in Jodhpur or other cities with reputable clinics.
Types of Hair Transplants
Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE)
FUE involves harvesting individual hair follicles from the donor area (usually the back of the scalp) and transplanting them to the thinning or bald regions. This method is minimally invasive and leaves no linear scar.
Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT)
In FUT, a strip of scalp is removed and dissected into individual grafts. Though slightly more invasive, it allows for a higher number of grafts in one session.
Both techniques are offered by the Best Dermatologist in Jodhpur, depending on the patient’s hair loss stage, scalp condition, and personal preferences.
Supporting Hair Health: Lifestyle and Home Care
In addition to clinical treatments, dermatologists emphasize the importance of a supportive lifestyle:
Balanced Diet
A diet rich in protein, leafy greens, nuts, seeds, and omega-3 fatty acids provides the building blocks needed for hair growth.
Scalp Care
Regular cleansing, exfoliation, and massaging improve blood circulation and create a healthy environment for hair follicles.
Stress Management
Practices like meditation, yoga, and adequate sleep are essential to prevent stress-induced hair fall.
Importance of Dermatological Consultation
Hair fall can be caused by various underlying conditions that may not be immediately visible. Therefore, visiting a certified skin and hair specialist is crucial for accurate diagnosis and personalized treatment planning. Clinics led by the best dermatologist in Jodhpur typically offer comprehensive assessments, including:
Scalp analysis
Blood tests for nutritional and hormonal imbalances
Digital hair mapping for tracking progress
Final Thoughts
Hair fall is a multifactorial issue that requires a systematic and informed approach. With the availability of proven therapies ranging from topical medications and supplements to PRP and Hair Transplant in Jodhpur, individuals today have access to effective solutions suited to their unique needs.
Instead of opting for quick fixes or over-the-counter products, it’s always wise to consult a qualified dermatologist who can guide you toward long-term hair restoration. Whether it’s managing early signs of thinning or considering surgical restoration, professional advice can make all the difference.

How to evaluate the stability and reliability of NPK blending fertilizer production lines?
In fertilizer production, the stability and reliability of NPK blending fertilizer production lines are critical. Here are key factors to assess them:
Continuity of Production
Monitor how often the line stops unexpectedly during long runs. Frequent unplanned downtime often points to stability issues.
Check if the process flows smoothly from raw material feeding to final product output. A stable line ensures materials enter the mixing process steadily and finished products are delivered without interruptions.
Consistency of Product Quality
Test samples of the NPK blended fertilizer. A reliable NPK blending fertilizer production line maintains stable nutrient ratios (such as nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium) with minimal deviation from set standards.
Inspect particle uniformity. A stable line produces fertilizer granules with consistent size, shape, and density, reflecting precise mixing.
Tumblr media
Equipment Performance
Watch for unusual noise or vibration during operation. Normal runs should have minimal noiseor vibration. Abnormal spikes may signal worn parts or assembly flaws, affecting stability.
Track equipment failure rates. Reliable lines have low breakdown rates and easy maintenance.
Automation Control Systems
A robust automation system accurately adjusts production parameters. Frequent system errors or inaccurate adjustments hurt stability.
Check the system’s emergency response capability. During power fluctuations or material shortages, the system should either maintain basic operations or shut down safely.
By evaluating these factors, you can effectively judge the stability and reliability of NPK blending fertilizer production lines.
