one of my favorite facts about my characters is that i have a character that legitimately will give people a cat if she doesn't like the person.

why?

the person she hates the most is a shapeshifter who's scared of cats.

if someone looks genuinely worried by holding a cat, she immediately thinks they're the shapeshifter.

TWST Game of Thrones AU

So before I begin explaining. Yes I am aware how dark the series is and for that, I wrote out all the inc3st, forced intimacy, problematic aspects of the story. I however do not shy away from giving a kill count to an AU and that's not gonna be any different here.

So the main plot remains. 7 Kingdoms/Houses battle against one another for the main throne and also fending against the ones outside the wall. 2. First time meeting their best friend

This one has some different answers as she has a few best friends.

Her oldest friend Aubrey (Lackey's OC) is one she doesn't remember. She was a little over 18 months old, and her dad scheduled a play date with his mom. It wasn't a particularly rememberable play date, but it was the start of them being friends for the rest of their lives

The Slytherin girls they met in the dorms, but how she friended them are more interesting stories.

Vivien (also Lackey's) left her prosthetic leg in the courtyard, and Rune helped her sneak out to retrieve it. She had no invisibility cloak, but being raised in the school she found the secret tunnels and passages others don't notice. Filch still finds them, but the fact that Rune risked detention for her

Millicent is more straightforward. They physically fought, then became friends after.

Lori (also Lackeys lmfao) (also, yes, they end up together, but they're also still best friends), and Rune really didn't like each other at first. Think Glinda and Elphaba What is This Feeling? Energy. Come 2nd year Pansy is picking on Lori and rips the stuffed animal she carries everywhere. At this point Rune tells Pansy off and helps gather the bits of the stuffed cat off the floor.

13. First time being Drunk/high

Going into fourth year things are chaotic around Rune but boring for her. She didn't go to the World Cup, but her dad's been on edge ever since. Her granddad is also stressed but is still working insane hours. Lily-Athena is working too. So she's stuck with Aubrey in Cokeworth.

Its the same reruns on and both her and Aubrey are broke. One of them looks in the fridge and sees one of those stupidly big packs of beer. Tim buys them and slowly goes through them over a month give or take. He doesn't keep a thorough stock of them so he couldn't miss one or two. The two decide to do an "experiment." They concluded the beer tastes like piss but further experiments will need to be done at a later date. Also with different variations of alcohol.

“Snape! Snape!” he heard a voice cry out. It was a voice that made his skin crawl. A voice he dreaded all through his school career. Sirius Black was in a cell alone. He looked disheveled and crazed.  “What Black,” he growled through gritted teeth.  “Please, I need you to do something for me,” he sobbed. His eyes were red and puffy, “Please there’s no one else I can turn to,” “And why would I do anything for you?” he spat back, “After all that you’ve done, all you’ve put me through?” “Because it’s not about me! I just need you to grab-” “Sirius Black, they’re ready for you,” an officer called, pulling him out of the cell.  “Just get to my flat and grab rune-” he yelled out but was cut off as he was manhandled “My brother will know what to do afterwards, please, I can’t-” “That’s enough Black, come on!” The auror shoved him and dragged him into the interrogation room. Severus wanted to just go home and crash. He wanted to not think about doing any kind of favor for his bully. But he also didn’t know what the thing about runes was and his curiosity peaked. So there he was, heading towards the muggle part of London, picking a lock to get into his bully’s flat.  It was surprisingly normal, all things considered. A mix of bohemian and punk aesthetically and was decent enough for the side of town it was on. There were some books on magical theory, hidden among classical literature. Among the style, copious amounts of baby items were strewn around. A toy there, a play mat there. As he looked at all of the literal childish things, he heard a child scream from a bedroom. He looked and saw a little girl, only about 18 months old, standing in the crib, shaking the bars, and face red in anger. She looked at Severus. Amber eyes meeting black. It dawned on him that Sirius didn’t want him picking up a rune. He wanted him to pick up Rune.

ok VERY GOOD QUESTION i love love love act 3-5. all three of those r so fucking good and there’s not a single song i don’t like between all of them. if i had to choose an absolute favorite it MIGHT be act 3, only because it takes the listener SO FAR AWAY from the original story and throws them into a foreign event (world war 1). he said he had a story and in cauda venenum r so fucking good, plus it has my FAVORITE motif in all of the acts (the mustard gas motif)

when mustard gas showed up in a night on the town in act 4 i’m telling you i had fucking chills. AND IT EVEN SHOWS UP IN THE MOST CURSED OF HANDS / WHO AM I IN ACT 5???? ISNT THAT INSANE???? THE SYMBOLISM. THE METAPHORS.

ada: wolfram (pistol), mike (rifle) wolfram is another name for tungsten or its ore, which (iirc) is used in making bullets. if asked why her big gun is named mike, she says it's short for micycle

azul: silverthorn (longsword) used with a shield, azul named her longsword in honour of the deity that saved her from lolth's influence, the arch heart. silver is one of corellon's colours and azul associates them with deep, dangerous, but beautiful forests of the arborea

cadiana: judgement (maul) gifted by elspeth, taken from the dead blue dracolich judge moravax, former master of law for emon. cady is a paladin of erathis the lawbearer and sees fit to dole out judgement in her name. they thought moravax saw fair judgement for allying with the cult of tiamat as a leader after being a false worshiper of erathis. cady enjoys the irony

cihro: venenum (shortbow) (pronounced ve-NEE-num) one of my dms chose this and came up with its history, but it's latin for venom. this was either a vestige of divergence that became dormant and then awakened again by cihro, or was a plain shortbow transformed into a vestige. it originally belonged to an elven assassin and he acquired it from the dissolved remains of his partner's drider mother. its saying is “If your heart is true, then so will be your aim”

crow: bleeding heart (longsword) crow's hexblade and pacted weapon. named for multiple meanings, since crow's virtue name also has layers. the bleeding heart is a flower also known as dicentra, her lover's name and the woman she forged her blade and pact with. bleeding heart can also describe "sincere emotional outpouring." the sword is wholly symbolic of her heart and devotion and desires. also, she stabs people and then they bleed!

genevieve: anathema (battleaxe) while evie mostly utilizes her claws and hemomancy in combat, she will occasionally use her blood maledict on other weapons. anathema is a word for "something or someone that one vehemently dislikes" or "a formal curse by a pope or a council of the church, excommunicating a person." originally named because she saw herself as anathema to the monsters she hunted for the slayer's take, its meaning transformed when she became a lycanthrope and became the hunted

iona: analemma (longbow), salt in the wound (rapier), paprika (dagger) analemma is named for "a graph or plot in the shape of a figure eight that shows the position of the sun in the sky at a given time of day (such as noon) at one specific locale measured throughout the year." her father gifted it with the intention of "protecting people year-round" after her original bow broke in a fight. salt in the wound is straightforward, what it says on the tin, and paprika is her own little joke that she doesn't tell anyone

koda: skylark (scimitar) named after a bird he likes, but also that it's light and airy in his hand and "sings" through the air. purely by coincidence: "It is a bird of open farmland and heath, known for the song of the male"

murtagh: mistsplitter (trident) no fancy origin, murtagh is a water-themed character and just thought of his trident being sharp enough to split mist. his surname, riftwarren, also comes from the merging of two different words, so he kept that system. his dual harpoons don't have names

nepenthe: vidrinath (greatsword) named for the drow/undercommon word 'lullaby.' these songs were sung by drow priestesses to help ease students/children into trance. nepenthe thinks of it as putting people to sleep forever, and the juxtaposition between love and violence is incredibly lolth-flavoured. as a mother, she also once sang these songs to her daughter

vesuria: ettin (shortsword) the giant word for 'runt,' something the older members of her order affectionately called her. but, it's also the word for an actual creature, a two-headed giant, who "bridged the gap between true giants and giant-kin"

6. Do you listen to anything while you write? or do you prefer silence?

i NEED to listen to something while i write, i have mood playlists that i use and recently i've made a couple character ones too. I have a few songs picked for each of my "main" ocs that help me get inside their head and i've only just recently started making playlists with them

26. what is your favourite part about writing?

Answered this one already but talking about it! And the relief of having the ideas out of my head so they no longer torment me...

32. Out of all your fics what is your favourite title?

"dosis sola facit venenum" or "only the dose makes the poison" because it's a departure from my song-lyrics-as-titles habit and also because it felt clever because the fic is about being poisoned.

Ok so I got random motivation to write one small text. For the context the two characters mentioned below are OCs, they're both dragons. The name of the whole writing project is "Beyond the Horizon".

Eclair tossed and turned in her nest, but she couldn't find any comfortable position. Even tho her nest was objectively comfortable, she couldn't be. No matter how much feathers and fur she would add to it. Her agitation eventually attracted Vipère's attention and the Venenum came closer to her and gave her the benefit of her physical presence, scales against scales. Eclair was grateful of this act, for sure ; but she just couldn't tell Vipère the truth : that no matter how much effort her new-made friend was putting into making her staying here as comfortable as possible, she couldn't help but missing her natal mountains, the wind directly blowing on her side, the reassuring coolness of the rock under her paws and claws, the purity of the air and the smells of mountain plants, and those of ibex ready to be hunted, the sound high altitude winds howling, the thunderous crack of lightning strikes during storms. No matter how hard she tried, no matter how kind and sweet was Vipère, she couldn't help but wonder when she could go back home, even tho how hostile life was there because of the upper castes. But only the Great Mother knew how much Vipère was trying. No, she couldn't just break all her efforts by telling her. It was okay. She was just homesick. Perhaps, it would eventually go away. She closed her eyelids but sleep was slow in coming. ... Perhaps.
