TS4: Korean Bar Set
Sul sul ^^
Who wants to create a K-Drama moment for their Sims? :)
This is a Korean bar set :D
Tumblr media
ITEMS THAT COME WITH THIS SET:
A functional bar (two versions: empty or with a beer dispenser (imgur link), bar stools, 6 neon lights, a wall (bottles) display, and a bar wall sign.
Tumblr media
🍺 RECIPES/ DRINKS:
SOJU FLAVORS: Apple, Apple Mango, Blueberry, Citron, Fresh, Grapefruit, Green Grape, Mango, Original (Chum Churum), Original (Jinro),  Peach, Strawberry, Plum, Sour Candy, Yogurt, Zero Sugar.
BEER: Terra, Cass, Hite Extra Cold.
OTHERS: Somaek (Cass beer+Soju), Somaek (Terra beer + Soju), Makgeolli.
🍺 All types of soju and beers can be served in a glass or drunk straight from the bottle.
🍺 Only the Somaek (it's a "mixed drink") and the Makgeolli can't be drunk from the bottle.
🍺 If you choose the drink/glass version, the bartender will prepare it for you. You'll notice that they'll use the "correct bottle" to make your drink.
Example: If you order Strawberry Soju (glass), the bartender will use a Strawberry Soju bottle while making your drink. It was a lot of work to do, but I wanted it to look as realistic as possible :)
🍺 There are also different types of glasses depending on what drink you order.
🍺 If you order the drink (glass), your Sims will drink it in 3 sips. If you order the bottle, they'll drink it in 5 sips.
🥘 RECIPES/FOOD:
NACHOS: Your Sims will eat it with their hand, taking the nacho chips. It's vegetarian safe.
BINDAETTEOK: It's a pancake made with mung bean. You can fill it with meat or just vegetables. Since I wanted more Sims to be able to eat it, I made it vegetarian safe. It's up to your imagination what the pancake fillings are :) Your Sims will eat it using (custom) chopsticks.
CRISPY FRIED CHICKEN: Your Sims will eat it using the chopsticks as well. This way they won't get their hands dirty with all the oil and sauces  XD. It's not safe for vegetarian Sims.
🥘 All of these three recipes take 5 bites to be finished/eaten :)

Eco-Friendly Cleaning Products: Safe Alternatives for Your Home
Keeping your home clean and safe doesn’t have to come at the expense of the environment. Traditional cleaning products often contain harmful chemicals that can negatively impact your health and the planet. Switching to eco-friendly cleaning products is a great way to maintain a clean home while being kind to the environment. Here are some safe alternatives you can try:
Vinegar and Baking Soda
All-Purpose Cleaner: Mix equal parts water and white vinegar in a spray bottle for a versatile cleaner that can tackle countertops, sinks, and more. Add a few drops of essential oil for a pleasant scent.
Scrubbing Paste: Combine baking soda with a small amount of water to create a paste that can scrub away tough stains in the bathroom or kitchen.
Castile Soap
Multipurpose Cleaner: Castile soap is a plant-based soap that can be used for everything from washing dishes to cleaning floors. Dilute it with water for various cleaning tasks.
Foaming Hand Soap: Mix Castile soap with water and a few drops of essential oil in a foaming soap dispenser for a gentle and effective hand soap.
Lemon Juice
Natural Disinfectant: The acidity of lemon juice makes it a powerful natural cleaner. Use it to disinfect cutting boards, clean glass, and remove stains.
Deodorizer: Add lemon juice to your cleaning routine to naturally deodorize and freshen up your home.
Hydrogen Peroxide
Disinfectant: Hydrogen peroxide is an effective disinfectant that can be used to clean surfaces, sanitize cutting boards, and whiten grout. Use a spray bottle for easy application.
Laundry Whitener: Add hydrogen peroxide to your laundry to brighten whites and remove stains without the harshness of bleach.
Essential Oils
Antimicrobial Properties: Essential oils like tea tree, lavender, and eucalyptus have natural antimicrobial properties. Add a few drops to your cleaning solutions for an extra boost.
Aromatherapy: Use essential oils in your cleaning routine to create a pleasant and calming environment in your home.
Eco-Friendly Store-Bought Products
Green Brands: Look for cleaning products from brands that prioritize sustainability and use natural, non-toxic ingredients. Brands like Seventh Generation, Method, and Ecover offer a wide range of eco-friendly cleaning products.
Refillable Options: Choose products that come in refillable containers to reduce plastic waste.
Reusable Cleaning Tools
Microfiber Cloths: Replace disposable paper towels with reusable microfiber cloths. They are effective at picking up dirt and can be washed and reused multiple times.
Natural Sponges: Opt for natural sponges or scrubbers made from sustainable materials instead of synthetic ones.
Switching to eco-friendly cleaning products is a simple yet impactful way to create a healthier home and contribute to a more sustainable future. By using natural ingredients and choosing environmentally friendly brands, you can keep your home sparkling clean without compromising your health or the planet.

Broke Witch Tip #13/Broom Closet Witch Tip #2
Soap Cycling
Get yourself a regular reusable soap dispenser typical for hand washing and whatever refillable soaps you prefer.
Each time you refill you can add your own essential oils and skin safe herbs and spices (or make a tincture/tea out of them before adding so people don't see floating herbs). Whatever you want to have more of in the home for the family or whatever energies you want to stay is your aim when adding the mixture.
For example: orange and coconut essential oils to protect what happiness we have and sea salt to cleanse unwanted energies. Mix it into your refill bottle and done. You have a reusable, easily accessible discreet spell

Shots fired!
Fandom:Team Fortress 2
Pairing:Engineer/Spy; Practical Espionage; Napoleon Complex
Warnings: Suggestive (somewhat)
Summary: RED Engineer and BLU Spy were caught in the moment. The poor Texan didn't have time to save what's dear to him.
(RED Engineer is Jack cause I want BLU Engie to be Dell; BLU Spy is Pierre)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The battle raged on the bridge and the underground tunnels. Bombs gets thrown and blood got spilled. The screams of agony and pain rang through the battle field and into the hollow base of each team. Laughter and the continuous noise of the respawn machine could be the only clue you would get to know which side the victory favors.
In the safety of a sentry nest, the RED Engineer - or to refer to his name, Jack - could do whatever he wants. The intel room could be so safe that's it's surreal that the place that store the intelligence could be so quiet. The intelligence is just right behind him, and yet he felt like there's nothing to worry about.
With a cold beer in hand, Jack leaned back on his Rancho Relaxo and sighed deeply. The sweats that coated his brows and shirt dried up long ago and he wish this battle would end quick. He really need a cool shower to remove all the gun powder and oil on him.
The sentries around him create a safe little haven for him to relax after erecting sentries, dispensers and teleporters for his teammates. The dispenser beside him provide the red healing beam that stuck loosely to him, closing up whatever wounds he has. Since Jack had sat there for a while now, the healing beam moved from healing wounds to relaxing his tense body.
When he raised the mouth of the bottle to his lips to take a sip of his beer, an unmistakable sound of a spy decloaking could be heard beside him. The sentries couldn't detect the spy before and is now beeping and turning, in desperate search for the french man in blue.
Jack smiled to himself, picked up his wrench and tapped one his sentry a few times. The sentry eventually stopped its rapid beeping and return to normal and the rest does the same. Sometimes, Jack thought he placed a little brain in each of his sentries by accident.
With this little action carried out, Pierre was allowed to relax and he leaned against the little table of the Rancho Relaxo. The smell of cigarette and gun powder hung heavily around the exhausted French.
"Mon chéri, you should really program your sentry to not shoot at me." Pierre commented, a tired smile on his lips.
"Well, if Ah did that, the battle field would likely become unfair." Jack stated. The spy sighed and nodded, no further comments or convincing was heard.
The thought of getting with the enemy was an idea he never would have came up with in a million years. Even with their occasional meet-ups, they were still on the opposite team. His sentries still need the ability to shoot at BLUs if he wanted his team to win the battle. Pierre still need his cloak and dagger to work perfectly if he wanted kills.
Jack glanced over to the spy and realized why he was so distress about the situation.
His usual perfectly tailored suit is in ruins, to put it lightly. The ends of the blue pinstripe coat were torn and burnt, splotches of blood covered his white dress shirt. Jack can't determine whether the blood was from Pierre or from the others dying around him. Pierre's pants were slightly torn from the knee down, sleek black gloves were missing a few fingers as well. It seems like the only thing that remained intact was his tie.
Jack let out a quiet chuckle, taking a quick swing of his beer before placing it down. The half burned cigarette between Pierre's lips sparked lightly, a few cigarette dust fell on the back of his ruined glove.
"Next time, try takin' the tunnel, will ya?" Jack advised, leaning over to Pierre with an equally wide smile on his face. "Don't want ta see ya so roughed up all the time."
Pierre scoffed and placed a hand on his cheek, his thumb stroking gently. Jack closed his eyes and leaned into the touch and brought a hand up to caress the one stroking his cheek. A finger or two slid under the black gloves and slipped it off carefully, letting his lightly stumbled face rub against soft, slender fingers.
Pierre noticed the little display of undressing him and decided to play along. With one swift move, the spy knocked the engineer's goggles away and let it hang loosely around his neck. The cigarette between his lips were removed by Jack, who took a long drag from it before cutting it off on the table.
It has been over three months since they got together. Their relationship started off as confusion and hatred because they were vowed to hate each other and yet, they couldn't help but wonder what would happen if they got to know each other.
And that's what they did.
Pierre was the first one to start a conversation with Jack that doesn't include back stabs and mockery. At first, Jack thought the french man was trying to catch him off guard, considering how much the spys liked to back stab engineers and snipers. But within two weeks, the RED Engineer warmed up to him and let his guard down whenever he's near.
Of course, the engineer didn't felt necessary safe around the BLU Spy at all times. The only time when he does feel safe around him is when a sentry or a dispenser is nearby.
At night, Jack would hate himself for falling into the BLU Spy's trap so easily. Sometimes he would hug himself to sleep and just claw at his own skin out of frustration. Fortunately, those little thoughts of hope would always come and take the weights off his shoulders. He just needed to place his trust into this possible relationship and pray to all that is good that it would work out.
The complete opposite was true for Pierre, as he often stayed up late to just replay the moments they had with each other. He had fantasized about everything they could do with each other, but he had to play safe. Keeping suspicion off his back was his number priority at the time. He felt absolutely ridiculous, like a teenager who just had a crush for the first time.
Right now, Pierre couldn't help but smile at his lover, blood flushing his cheeks a pinkish shade that's hidden under his mask. Even with the blissfully quiet moment with Jack, his heart hung heavily in his chest at the thought of being caught. As if he could read minds, Jack looked up with worried eyes and his touch soften even more.
"Sweet pea, you don't have to worry about getting caught." Jack said, removing his hand and cupping his lover's face in both hands. Two different texture met his face, one of rubber and one of flesh and skin. Pierre couldn't help but let out a sigh, eyes darting away.
"I know, but even with how careful we've been, I still worry of what would happen to both of us if our teams found out." Pierre said quietly leaning into the touch only to get stopped by the edge of the table hitting against his abdomen.
The french man immediately pulled away and held tightly on to his abdomen, grunting out in pain. This caused Jack to immediately get up from his resting place and carefully grabbed Pierre by the shoulder, dragging him over to the dispenser.
Pierre settled down next to it with some pain, letting out a choked noise when the pain didn't seem to subside. A fresh patch of blood formed on his white shirt, bleeding into the fabric. Jack hastly removed the burnt coat and examine the new wound.
"Christ, Pierre, ya could've told me that you were injured?" Jack asked, worry and fear filled his voice.
Upon closer examination, it appeared that a glass shard was stuck into his stomach. Jack can only assume that it was a glass shard from the Medigun when it got broken. The engineer wondered how the glass shard could be blown so far and ended up in Pierre's abdomen without his acknowledgement.
"Alright, just keep still an' Ah'll remove this." Jack reassured the pained spy, who just gave him a shaky nod.
The procedure was painfully slow, but the engineer has steady hands so Pierre place his trust in him. Every inch that gets removed from his flesh felt relieving but painful at the same time. After it was removed, Pierre let out a breath he was holding and went half limp by the dispenser.
Jack was shock that the glass shard was at least four inch long, and it had gone quite deep into Pierre's flesh. He gave the french a confusion and shock look and raised the shard. Pierre just stared and sighed, too tired and drained to say anything. Nothing really amused him as much anymore.
Without another word, the BLU French leaned heavily against the RED Texan, placing his head in the crook of his neck. The two sat on the floor of the RED intel room in comfortable silence, letting the swirling red beam work its magic on Pierre's wound.
Jack was always the guy to please his partner, but right now, he needed some action or at least more than sitting still. Not saying he's needy, but a man has his needs when it has been two months. Jack reached a hand out and grabbed Pierre's face gently, guiding it closer to his own. A knowing smile curled up on the spy's lips and he leaned in, meeting the soft lips of the engineer.
Though his lips weren't as soft as his many previous partners, they felt right on his. The many relationships he had made him a man of many talents when it comes to love. His previous partners were mainly women but that doesn't mean he hasn't went out his way to try something else other than the vanilla choice.
Since Jack was less injured than Pierre was, he wrapped an arm around his lover's waist, helped him off the floor and hosted him up on the Rancho Relaxo, earning a small noise of surprise from the man.
"Getting feisty already, are we?" Pierre teased. The only response he got was a deep chuckle from the engineer.
With all worries pushed aside, the two of them focus on each other only. Their hands explored each other's body, already having a good mental map of one another. Their lips always in constant search for the other whenever they pulled away for air. The engineer's hands eventually settled comfortably on the spy's torso, firmly pulling the french man closer to him.
In the heat of things, Pierre removed his lips from his lover's and teased at the sensitive skin at his collar bone, nibbling and leaving small kisses there.
"Danggit, stop teasing me." Jack huffed out a hot breath and pulled away, leaning his head heavily on Pierre's shoulder. The French ignored his pleads and instead, moved on to somewhere else more pleasing to tease.
Being propped up on the Rancho Relaxo was already a disadvantage for him, but he tried to make the best of it.
Wrapping his arms around the shorter man, he pulled the engineer closer to him, just enough for his knee to grind against his hardening groin.
A groan fell out of Jack's mouth, his arms encircling Pierre's waist. His face was flushed not only from the heat but the growing arousal in him. Being this close to Pierre and with arousal, the scent of his cologne and cigarettes were almost intoxicating, filling his head with nothing but Pierre.
"Pierre.. Shit.." Jack moaned quietly, one hand coming up to gril his shoulder. A gentle hum of acknowledgement came from the spy, who's still trying to dig for more reaction from the engineer.
It took Jack a while to get what he was trying to say, groans and heavy breathing escaping him everytime Pierre makes a move. The BLU Spy took pleasure in seeing the RED Engineer so untangled and unlike himself compared to how he looked on the battlefield.
"We can't do this here, you- ah, dammit.." The engineer arched his back, pushing his hips into the pressure even though he desperately wanted to warn his lover. His body betrayed him and gave into temptation.
Pierre, being a man of romance, understood that he's pushing the boundaries of where and when they're supposed to get intimate with each other. Pierre sighed and removed his knee from Jack's groin and got off of the Rancho Relaxo.
The growing heat in Jack's pants seemed to subside almost immediately, a sigh of relief escaped his lips. This, however, didn't stop the cheeky spy from peppering the relieved engineer in kisses and praises. Jack chuckled and returned the favor, kissing his cheeks even though the ski mask was in the way.
"I should've known you'd be a traitor."
The voice came from the entrance of the intel room. In just seconds, the butterflies in Jack's stomach turned into solid lead as he forcefully pushed Pierre away from him and turned around to face the direction that the voice came from.
There stood the RED Spy, the BLU intelligence in his hand with a angry look on his face. His revolver was grip tight in his hand, his disguise mask hung on the side of his face. His clothes were also in ruins, but no where near as worn as Pierre's condition.
"W-wait! I cant explain." Jack quickly said, an arm in front of Pierre to protect him while his other hand was placed on his chest.
Pierre's heart beat was basically banging in his head. Sweat beads rolled down his head and getting caught in the fabric of his mask. Jack's eyes were wild, darting between the two spies in the room with him. They knew that one day they would get caught, but they never thought it would be right now.
Before Jack could start saying anything, the RED Spy raised his revolver and shot Pierre in his head. The sound of the revolver being fired shot Jack right in his chest, making his stomach turn and his brain go numb.
RED Spy walked over and threw the BLU's intelligence onto the table and the speakers announced the winner. Outside, the REDs cheered and mocked the BLUs as they went back to their base in disappointment and anger.
"I hope you understand the consequences of your mistake, Laborer." RED Spy said, glancing over to the visibly distressed engineer.
His lover's body laid beside him, blood pouring out on the floor through the bullet hole in his head. His face frozen in shock, eyes wide and mouth slightly agape. Jack couldn't bare looking down and trying to caress Pierre in his arms, knowing that his team's spy will be there, watching and judging his decisions.
"Respawn will take him. You don't have to be over dramatic." RED Spy said, a small chuckle followed afterwards.
Jack didn't move. His fists shook by his sides, his heart beat banged in his ears and against the walls of his chest. The only thought he has right now is to strangle the spy behind him and beat him until he was unrecognizable. But he couldn't, RED would definitely fire him and then send him to prison or something.
The audible footsteps of the spy approaching him was his cue to start moving away.
"Just so you know, I won't tell anyone. They will have to discover this mess themselves." The footsteps stopped approaching him, stopping by the BLU Spy's body instead.
Jack walked out of the intel room without looking back, his boots practically slammed against the floor. RED Spy watched him leave, then looked down at the bleeding corpse. He used his foot and knocked his shoe against the BLU Spy's face, watching a few streams of blood flow out of the bullet wound.
Eventually, the body was taken by respawn and he was there to watch it disappear. All of the sentries, dispensers and even the Rancho Relaxo was still there since the engineer didn't bother packing up.
RED Spy sighed and pulled out a cigarette, lighting it with the discarded lighter on the Rancho Relaxo. The smoke floated up curled in the air. RED Spy walked out of the intel room, meeting up with the team's Soldier later on.
Engineer ignored the whole team for the rest of the day, pointly avoiding conversations and interactions. This did earn him a few confused looks from his teammates, but no one bothered asking.
"Spy, what's wrong with Engie?" Scout asked after dinner, practically chasing after Spy when he left the dinner table.
"His lover died, is all." Was the only answer Spy gave the confused and curious Boston.
Yes, it was a but suggestive but hey, at least I got the plot planned out.
Everyone shut the fuck up I made popcorn on the stove
Tumblr media
Here's how you can do it too:
Lightweight pot with a thick bottom (I used this steel(?) pot we had lying around)
Lid that will fit snugly on said pot and not let steam escape
1/4 cup popcorn (or however much can fit in your pot ig)
Couple tablespoons refined coconut oil (I didn't measure but just a bit more than necessary to coat your pot)
Flavoring of your choice (I've got notes on this part)
Bowl to mix it in (if you ended up putting too much popcorn in your pot)
The reason why I said "however much can fit in your pot" is because I used 1/2 cup and it ended up pretty much filling the pot. Like that big-ass bowl is half the popcorn I made.
Tumblr media
First melt your coconut oil and put like 3 kernels in. These are your test kernels. You know how some people say to put some water droplets in your pan before cooking pancakes to be sure your pan's hot enough? Same concept but you're just straight up using popcorn
Once those guys are all popped add in your seasoning. For authenticity sake get yourself a carton of Flavacol or pawn it off from someone who happens to own it (alternatively called "popcorn salt", this bright orange powder's the quintessential popcorn flavor). If you can't get it a bottle of Kernel Season's popcorn flavoring and some extra salt works.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now I didn't do this part bc I wasn't sure how much to add, I added it at the end. And like yeah that works but you're gonna get a lot more even coating if you do it in advance.
Next put the popcorn in and swish it around a bit, get all the oil and flavoring over the kernels. When it starts popping, shake it every couple of seconds (tossing not necessary, just swish it around to get the popcorn going). Same concept as microwave popcorn, when the pops get as infrequent as 1 or 2 seconds between take it off the heat.
But then you just have plain (maybe salted) popcorn, if you want to put some "butter" on that get yourself some of that "Pop and Top" shit. This is that flavored soybean oil or whatever that some theaters have dispensers for.
Tumblr media
Once again, I didn't buy this because I thought it was a waste of money, so I just melted some butter and vegetable oil and poured it over the popcorn. I do not suggest doing this because youu will end up with some kernels that are absolutely drenched because they've soaked up all the fucking butter before you could even shake the bowl/pot.
And badda-bing badda-boom you got movie theater popcorn and supplies that'll last you like forever
Acetone, Alternatives, and Additives
Acetone is the best polish remover, hands down. Pure acetone is the best and cheapest option out there. With a few exceptions, other polish removers are just 80% water, 15% acetone, and a little scent, coloring, maybe vitamin E for texture. They're awful. You have to use more, soak your nails with water (bad!), and scrub harder to get everything off. Just use acetone!
But I'm allergic to acetone! damn that sucks. Acetone-free removers are available; they use methyl acetate instead. They're still mostly water. Give that a shot. If you find it to be too weak to be effective, pick up Orly's polish thinner. It's 100% methyl acetate and SHOULD NOT BE USED TO THIN POLISH. It destroys polish. I don't know why they sell it as a thinner. But it's good for a bottle and brush cleaner, and it'll strip your nails.
Acetone dries me out :( Yup. But the fix is easy: glycerin. I didn't think it would work, but I saw a major difference the first time I used it. It truly does keep skin and nails from drying out! Pick up a bottle at Amazon or a health food store. You'll also need a little water--glycerin and acetone don't mix, but they are both miscible in water.
The standard acetone:glycerin:water ratio is 10:1:1-1.5. Add an ounce of glycerin to ten ounces of acetone, then shake vigorously. If it doesn't fully mix, add a tiny bit of water and shake again. That's it! You're done.
I put this in a dispenser and use it to strip polish. It's perfect for a ten-minute soak using lots of product. For manicure clean-up, I find that I need a higher acetone ratio or polish doesn't get fully removed. I keep that in a separate bottle, probably a 15:1 acteone:glycerin ratio.
You can also buy scented acetone additive if you're a smell freak. Bliss Kiss and several indies make their own. There are unique scents in PPU and HHC every month. Be cautious with indie scents. I recently had a bad reaction to one that contained peppermint essential oil--a notorious skin irritant. It peeled off the top layer of my nails.
Do a spot test with any new additive before you soak your whole hand! Add a few drops to an ounce of acetone, apply it to cotton, and leave it somewhere inconspicuous for ten minutes. If the spot gets hot or itchy, take it off and wash with soap. If it doesn't, you're clear to use it as normal.
A little something that's been brewing in my head for @msmynx that recently started pouring itself out onto paper. 😌
Performing a simple, polite gesture should not end in marriage, but—Adam Parrish learned—this did not apply to selkies.  He hadn't even made a conscious decision to bend down and save the jacket from sliding to the floor. It'd just been—instinct. One arm full of the round aluminum platters diners used to shuttle paper food boats of fried clams, onion rings, and lobster rolls to their tables, Adam had seen the gray speckled jacket start slipping and he'd simply acted. In one fluid motion, he reached down, caught the jacket's collar, and returned it to the back of the diner's chair without so much as breaking stride. The lunch rush on Saturday afternoon's demanded The Sea Shanty run like a well-oiled machine, and that meant Adam had to clear tables within seconds of them being vacated or he'd have his manager breathing down his neck and barking in his hearing ear. Adam had to say he wasn't particularly interested in either. Not when faster turnover meant more diners, which meant more tips in the yellow plastic sand pail next to the register.   Tips everyone split at the end of the night.  Tips that made returning to The Sea Shanty for the third summer in a row worthwhile and allowed Adam to stash away a semester's tuition by the end of August.  He hadn't thought about the jacket again after he played good samaritan. He couldn't—not when he had to get the platters in the dishwasher, take a stack of clean ones out to the pick-up counter, refill napkin dispensers and ketchup bottles and the mason jars on every table stuffed full of plastic toothpicks shaped like tiny swords.  Adam wouldn't have thought about the jacket again at all if he hadn't run right into the guy who owned it when Adam pushed through the restaurant's back door on his way to haul an overstuffed garbage bag to the dumpster. The solidity of the man—Adam bounced off him like he'd run into one of the thick concrete pylons down at the pier—gave Adam the initial impression he'd slammed into one of the cooks—a trio of boulder-sized locals who took turns chain smoking out back so two of them always manned the kitchen. Except no cigarette smoke hovered around the small fenced-in gravel area behind the restaurant, and no string of curses left the guy's mouth as Adam took a staggering backward step. In fact, the guy seemed far too calm and collected for being hit head-on by a hundred sixty pound busboy carrying a twenty-five pound bag of trash.
Fictober 2023 Day 22 - Prompt: "No, you'll never understand, ever." Fandom: Baldur's Gate 3
The huffs and sounds of despair were just loud enough to draw attention as Falerin passed Astarion’s tent, and he paused to poke his head inside. There wasn’t much in there—full elves, he knew, didn’t sleep, and he was almost always next to the fire with him since their initial tryst. But there were a few odds and ends, including a table with a few bottles and combs and a chair currently harboring a thoroughly despondent-looking vampire, face in his hands.
“Astarion?” Falerin got a low groan in reply. He stepped fully inside, careful not to disturb anything, and went over to lightly touch Astarion’s shoulder. “Is…everything all right?”
“It’s that damn forge,” he muttered. “Why did we even go to the forge? For weapons? At what cost?” He lifted his head to look up at Falerin accusingly as he gestured to his hair. “And now I have to deal with this?”
The normally well-styled curls were unflatteringly askew, frizzing from the heat of the forge. Falerin’s mouth twitched.
“I mean…you can’t see it.”
“Yes, but I’m not stupid, Falerin. I know what a wreck they are, and even worse, I can feel it.” His head fell back into his hands. “I’d cut it all off if it wouldn’t just be back at sunset.”
Falerin gave an awkward rub to Astarion’s back, though he stopped as the vampire bristled. “I…well, look, I understand…”
“No, you won’t understand, ever,” Astarion interrupted peevishly. “You and your godsdamned stick-straight hair.”
Falerin rolled his eyes, and he looked over the table. “Well, maybe I can help. I can see what I’m doing, at least, you just need to walk me through it.”
Astarion peeked back at him, then sighed as he finally lifted his head, slouching in his seat. “Fine. You can’t make it any worse.” He picked up a couple bottles, setting them against the edge of the table, along with a wide-toothed wooden comb. “Purple bottle, comb, blue bottle. Just…tame it. It’s bad enough to look like a wreck, but when my hair gets like this, I just…it feels terrible around my neck.”
“Purple, comb, blue,” Falerin repeated, then took the purple bottle and opened it. Rosemary-scented oil greeted him, and he poured it into his palm, letting it warm a bit before he started to smooth it through Astarion’s hair. He’d never really gotten the chance to play with Astarion’s hair—for all the show he made of their relationship, he wasn’t much for a cuddle…or a hug…or…really, anything besides sex. So it felt strangely intimate as the curls wrapped around his fingers, slowly being tamed with each pass through.
Astarion stayed quiet, head tilted back. His face had shut off: eyes shut, mouth in a straight line. He wasn’t bristling like he did with so many of Falerin’s casual touches, but whether he was enjoying this or suffering through it was impossible to say.
The warlock pulled his hands back, rubbing the excess oil into his hands before he reached for the comb. Carefully, he pulled it through his hair, evenly dispensing the oil and doing his best not to tug too hard.
“Which way do you part it?” he asked quietly.
“Left.”
Falerin nodded, trying to imitate the seemingly-effortless toss of curls with careful comb-strokes. “It’s…not going to be perfect.”
Astarion let out a humorless little puff of a laugh. “Well, you’re the one who’ll have to suffer through seeing it.”
Falerin smiled. “Seeing you is never suffering for me. The opposite, actually. I’d still be just as glad to see you if you were bald.” His smile widened mischievously. “In fact, you did say you’d cut it all off if you could. I could get a knife and…”
“Don’t you fucking dare.”
Falerin laughed as he reached for the blue bottle. “I won’t, I won’t.” He poured a little of its contents into his hands, then once again smoothed it through Astarion’s hair. He lingered a bit this time, fingers combing through the curls and chancing some gentle scratches to the vampire’s scalp—this time, Astarion relaxed as he did. His eyes fluttered open, looking up at Falerin curiously.
“You really mean that, though?” he asked softly. “Being glad to just…see me?”
Falerin gave him a soft smile, and he leaned down to kiss Astarion’s forehead. “Of course. You’re more than just your looks you know.”
“Well, obviously. I’m a great lay, too.”
Falerin rolled his eyes with a smile. “You know what I mean.”
“Actually, I…” Astarion cut himself off, and he pulled his head away from Falerin’s hands, giving his hair a little shake before pushing his curls back into place. He turned around in his seat. “Well, it feels better. How does it look? Be honest, unless it looks terrible—in that case, lie profusely.”
Falerin laughed. “You look wonderful, like you always do.”
Astarion’s gaze flicked over him for a moment. His mouth quirked up. “You know, from you, I believe that.” His gaze lingered on Falerin’s face for just a moment, then he got up to his feet. “Well, now that all’s right with my hair—and, by extension, the world—I suppose we ought to rejoin society. Well, in as much as our camp counts as society. Come along, darling.”
