As much as I love the BG3 community on Reddit, stuff like this really bothers me.
1.6k people have so little media literacy they think Gale being Mystra's kept wizard in Elysium after all she put him through somehow constitutes a good ending.
Like seriously wtf. No one would consider sending Astarion back to Cazador a good ending, even if Cazador magically offered to make him a true vampire.
Don't get me started on all the jokes about Wyll having the hots for Mizora. At least those are "jokes".
If nothing else this game has really opened my eyes to how utterly ignored men's abuse at the hand of a woman abuser is. Makes me sick.

Destiel would have been more canon if Supernatural were a book series and here’s why:
Destiel feelings are “subtext” but as Jensen said it’s “Clear Text,” and that was canon destiel confirmation enough for me. I think that a lot of people wanted Destiel to be canon in the sense that they got a romantic relationship, however with what we know now, and prior to that knowledge; they already had a relationship. Relationships encompass a lot, such as friendships, platonic, familial, etc. And they already had a much more complex and intricate relationship than most people can comprehend. Speaking strictly in canon, they technically already had a relationship that was fueled on savior, on love, on so many foundations. And let’s say for argument’s sake that neither of them had romantic feelings, but rather familial love, their story would still be circulated around LOVE.
However, I think that most of us can agree that it wasn’t just love that comes from a sense of friendship and commrodery. I think that a lot of the time we forget that Castiel and Dean are paradoxical, they realistically could never be in a happy relationship due to the fact that their story is inherently a tragedy. Now, we can also incorporate the “Chuck wins theory” into this and argue that they can never be together because of Chuck’s manipulation. However that can also be easily outweighed by the fact that Cas was never even supposed to be in the story, and that he was the only one with a “crack in his chassis.” (sorry got a bit rambly”
Destiel, is the love story (for many reasons that I will get into another time), but it is also the tragedy. The fact that over and over again, Dean and Cas hurt eachother, the fact that emotional repression and incommunication is a constant in the story is what makes them, them. So, in my eyes the confirmation that it wasn’t just subtext was enough for me to feel that it was canon. For a tragic love story to be canon there doesn’t have to be dates (which there are, they just don’t know it) or kissing, or grand love confessions (which again, there is CANONICALLY), but there doesn’t have to be the confirmation that they even know what they are. But, with interpretations of canon we can clearly see that they are in love they just don’t know it/they can’t know it.
What my point is, is that Destiel is already canon but we should have been fed more! Like if Eric Kripke wasn’t a bigot, or it wasn’t made in the 2000s, or if Sera Gamble didn’t hate Cas etc. Most all of the factors that played into the tragedy and denial of canonical destiel was due to circumstance. Also, given that Supernatural is a show about Sam and Dean and their fucked up family and brother shit, it wouldn’t have made sense to not make destiel a tragedy or to let them be happy. After all, the show wasn’t originally about them.
All in all,
If Supernatural had been written as a YA book series, Destiel would have still be canon, but we would have been given a better perspective on why and how they were canon. Actually seeing into their inner monologues, whereas in the show so much of it is left purposefully open for interpretation. So, realistically Destiel could never actually be happy, but they already are canonically burdened and tortured by their love for eachother and we would have gotten a better perspective of their own perspectives if it were in book form (such as Twilight and Midnight sun).
Which is also why fanfiction is such a staple of what makes them, them. Now I have to say, The fanfics I like the best are “Codas” rather than “fix-its” because Destiel is already canon, and their tradgedy is what makes them, And I want my Destiel version of Twilight and Midnight sun!!!

I've seen complaints about how Marry My Husband is being adapted into a live action drama, but personally I like the changes, they keep me on my toes.
I mean, the fact that they changed the year it takes place in is reasonable, but what actually threw me off was that they had the same ages they would've had in that year. Buuuut the aging up gives way for other sideplots, like the pregnancy scare plot which would've been relevant at their age as it was more of an expectation in their thirties than in their twenties.
I loved how Kang Jiwon looked with the perm and long hair, but thematically, a hair cut makes so much more sense as a "closing cycles" type of thing.
And having Kang Jiwon straight out tell Sumin "hey, I no longer like you" also makes sense to me. Sure, she had her 20-step-revenge-plan, but even with her visit to prison in the end, I feel like she didn't get the closure (pleasure?) of standing up for herself at the moment stuff was happening.
Also the moment Jiwon sets up for Sumin and Minhwan to sleep together is soo good. In every version. But I think that so far, live action is my favorite. Park Ming-young did a good job with the "I made this bed of nails, I have no choice but to lie on it now" vibe.

PheeTech feelings, I will never forgive SW for not giving us more Phee characterisation so I'm going to create it myself.
Tech, a devoted soldier, whose duty is to the people, and then, to his family, is sincerely protective of Phee. Should any harm come to her, he would prioritise her safe return/health above all else.
Phee, on the other hand? Phee is a pirate. Inherently selfish, heart hidden close, reluctant to be vulnerable. She's rough around her edges, it's how she stays safe.
That being said, she also loves selfishly. When she loves and allows herself to be loved, there's a certain risk, with how many enemies she's made, what she's done, who she's pissed off. When she let's Tech in, he knows.
Still, when push comes to shove, and her past catches up to her, to them, the lengths that Phee goes to. Because she's never had many this close. She's ruthless, in the prevention and in revenge. In her book, there isn't a threat she won't answer with something infinitely worse.
Between the two of them, they are a force to be reckoned with. They're dangerous, but Tech is the one with restraint. He is her restraint, without him, Phee is a scary woman.
He thinks it's the hottest thing, but his brother's a bit worried for their safety, should they accidentally end up on the other end of Phee without their brother to sooth her.
It's not like he even entirely realise he does it, either, no- Tech's clueless to the extent of things. He thinks his brother's are a bit silly for being so genuinely worried. Phee is entirely unapologetic, as well. Don't mess with what she loves, and she won't burn your world around you.

truly one of the best aspects of the lunter/witteclaw parallels is that the switcheroo of human luz luring "witch" hunter away is just SO on point with the themes of the story and philip's entire motivation as a villain. it's not a matter of humans VS witches, or religion VS paganism, but at the core of it lays the idea that anything that deviates from the norm needs to be extracted and destroyed. and in philip's time, that meant that witches needed to be eliminated.
but! that has changed, overtime. philip's world no longer holds that as the rule. not because the people who think like him no longer exist, but because the people who have been the target of discrimination and hatred have come together as a community and fought for their rights to live their lives to their fullest. and because of these, uh, "modern" ideas, luz fills the role of "evelyn" despite not being a witch herself, because she hits all the important bits: she's also the kind of pest philip would've considered a cancer for society all those years ago. and therefore, she manages to hit all the important story beats for her caleb, aka hunter: she's the one who triggers his first act of defiance against belos; she's the one who introduces flapjack to him; she's the one that takes hunter by the hand and leads him away from belos.
even then, her status as a human is impactful in the way belos treats her: he considers her an "equal", as much as that can mean. he uses this fact to manipulate and guilt-trip her. but that also means that he underestimates her, and that finally allows luz to put this putrid cycle to an end, therefore making luz and hunter effectively the last evelyn and caleb to graze the earth.

One of the worst things I hate about being nd, experiencing chronic fatigue and executive dysfunction is how often I'm unable to show up for my friends......
I see them being sad / posting sad things and I want to reach out and talk to them but then the realization kicks in and my brain goes - "girl, look at yourself rn. What words of comfort can you offer them, when you can't even comfort yourself? What if you say something that ends up making them feel worse? And then you end up feeling worse too because of it? Besides, can you even handle what they might say rn? "
I feel so selfish at times like these. And it makes me realize that maybe that's why I have so few friends. Because who would want to be friends with someone who has so little to give? And barely there at any given point of time?
