hihi!! saw your requests are open and wanted to ask if you could do prompt #21 ("i wish i never met you!" with clancy? probably angsty to maybe fluffy ending if youd want. but reader is helping clancy come up woth his plan to escape dema and they fall in love but reader gets caught by the bishops and is brainwashed to be against clancy and escaping. maybe he tries to break it.

I genuinely believe that Charles and Edwin are soulmates, in the sense that fate, the universe and Destiny would all make sure these two meet. Specifically I believe that these two are meant to be a reincarnated soulmate pair, and that in every life before 1916, these two were fated to meet and love each other, in whatever capacity that meant.

When Edwin died and was dragged to Hell, that disrupted his reincarnation cycle, so the Charles from his time lived and died never meeting his soulmate. The Charles we know was technically born without a soulmate because Edwin never reincarnated, so it only makes sense that their souls met again the way they did. It was Destiny that these two would meet, and love each other again. They may be a generation off, but it was fate.

Is it just me or has PWYC ticketing been slowly morphing into its own Oppression Olympics these days? Just had to give some feedback to a local event that advertised itself as in aid of trans people/the trans community, with "tiered ticket prices starting at £2 for trans women and BIPOC", and sure enough on the ticket site they've got "Trans Woman" and "BIPOC" for £2, followed by "Trans +" tickets at £5.

Which, if the event was in aid of trans women, or specifically called out issues affecting trans women, I would fully get behind. And similarly, I generally would feel out of line commenting on whether a cishet POC should be charged more or less than a white transmasc person. But at an event that advertises itself as for The Trans Community, the idea that a specific subset of the community should be singled out as less worthy of the discount than not only Other Trans Folk, but potentially folk not even part of the community? Deeply uncomfortable imo.

Idk, I've noticed the slide in a lot of events/spaces lately from "Anywhere between £X and £Y" to "suggested prices based on income" to "specific groups the event is for get their own tier, everyone else is set price" to "each marginalised group gets their own tier regardless of the event focus", I'm not sure if this is local or a wider issue but can we just bring back when PWYC was actually Pay What You Can and not Pay What We Think You Should Based On Your Identity?

I will admit I hate the trend towards measuring how Healthy fictional relationships are. they're not breakfast cereals! we don't need to measure the amount of fiber! even if it did matter how much fiber a fictional relationship has "healthy" is also a very general, vibes-based word for concepts that I think we probably should get more specific about

The Powers That Be started out very much as a murder mystery with Kopaka and Pohatu basically filling the typical Holmes and Watson roles respectively.

But now I can’t stop thinking about what Nuju and Whenua would be like as a detective duo in that genre of story, because they wouldn’t fit that Holmes-Watson mold. They’re more like Sherlock Holmes’s abilities split evenly between two people.

Nuju can make very rapid deductions and calculations IF he has all the information he needs. The trouble is, he often doesn’t have a lot of background knowledge outside of his field of expertise. Whereas Whenua has an incredible memory and encyclopaedic knowledge on a wide range of things. But his mind is so cluttered that he doesn’t always pick out which information is going to be the most useful or relevant …unless somebody else asks just the right question.

Neither one would be all that good of a detective on their own. But together… that could be interesting…
