Being empathetic isn't being able to care about other people, that's what being compassionate is.

Just because you may not understand exactly what a person is feeling or be able to experience their emotions with them does not mean you do not care about other people, or that you don't want to help them.

Empathy as a superpower is so stupid tbh. Low empathy is where it’s AT. Or at least my brand of it where I can somewhat understand someone’s emotions without feeling them myself. You’re telling me I can fake the correct emotion (sometimes) while still being level-headed? THAT is a goddamn superpower. I looked at the anti aftg tag too to see if I could intermingle there and last I checked it was a mix of fans obsessed with the series and haters being just a tad harsh imo, so i couldn't even do that RIP. I'm so lonesome in what is maybe a whole group of people gaslighting me 😔👊

honestly ive said this before and i always have to tread a very fine line with it because this isn't me saying it's OKAY or like. promotable. but i do think to an extent that aftg's problematicness is actually an aspect of what draws people in a lot. like the characters and their reactions to things feel real for who they are, what they've been through and the environments they were raised in if that makes sense? and then you go in the anti-aftg tag and it's just again and again 'they said THIS thing and acted THIS way in response to THIS scenario and it was PROBLEMATIC' and like. yeah. outside of the internet bubble you're in people do actually do that. like that behaviour exists. it IS problematic, well done. you pointed at a wall and called it a wall. but like? in real life people - PARTICULARLY deprived, traumatised people that typically don't ever get therapy or community or someone telling them why something is bad - DO act this way. ive said half of my love for andrew is literally just because he took an awful backstory and let it make him a complete cunt and ive NEVER seen a character do it as shamelessly as him before. and yeah there's the argument for how it's never resolved in the book where nora ties it with a bow and points at the bad behaviour so the readers can go 'see, this is wrong' and we all clap, but idk it just for me feels that when people point at the aftg characters and go problematic! problematic! problematic! it's like they're missing the point a bit.

the point being? that we need to be putting WAY more heat on the author. i really dislike her and a lot of her writing choices and her insistance of using slurs that aren't hers to reclaim and just because it happened to make the characters feel just that bit more authentic i can still acknowledge that she CLEARLY wrote it without characterisation in mind and just added all that problematic shit anyway. like i never get why there's so little focus on nora's writing decisions and thousands of posts just fucking CRUCIFYING the characters themselves and 'let's explain in detail why this behaviour is Morally Reprehensible and they should be Locked Up Forever'. like if u want to focus on the characters so bad and pretend they're the sole reason why aftg is Problematic and Bad then why is it so hard to acknowledge that someone raised the way they were might have some misinformed, ignorant beliefs. idk lol

I see this happen all the time were people that think they're so " cool" for not caring about others??? I'm not sure honestly what their motives are...

I've notice these ableists attack ppl with those disorders because ppl with those disorders are very like help your fellow person when in need and help the planet and it seemingly makes those ableists lash out? Maybe because they don't have those feelings and thoughts in them without wanting something in return??? Like I'm not fully sure???? But none the less it's still horrid...

Question: what do you think higuchi and kyouka's releastionship was like back when the latter was in the mafia? And do you think it'd be interesting to explore that releastionship?

Mmmh. Mmmmmmmmmmhhh. This is extremely interesting because besides from a smallest interaction in chapter 49, they were never shown interacting in canon; yet they most likely were the two mafia members closest to Akutagawa before the current manga events, so it's likely they had interactions of some sort, or at least were highly aware of each other's presence. I... Would really like to answer that Higuchi was kind to Kyouka and took her in sympathy, maybe even saw her little sister in her. Realistically, though, they probably didn't get along very well– Kyouka hated everyone at the mafia, hated Akutagawa, and she probably wasn't very impressed by such a dedicate Akutagawa admirer such as Higuchi. Higuchi on her end likely wasn't very moved to pity by Kyouka– in the end, for her, that's just how mafia is... Unfortunately, being taken away from your family and used as a killing machine probably isn't that much of a different story to her than the ones of any other mafia member. And surely she must not have liked much Kyouka's aversion for Akutagawa (although I don't think Kyouka was very open about it while still in the pm, but if she had been then Higuchi wouldn't have liked it). Overall, I believe they were just on cold coworker terms with each other. Maybe, had they met in different circumstances... (╥﹏╥)

But I'd still like to think their relationship will warm up eventually. As it looks like everyone - Kouyou, Akutagawa - is slowly getting over Kyouka's desertion‚ so I guess it'll reach a point where no one at the pm has beef with Kyouka anymore‚ and that includes Higuchi. Higuchi might grow more compassionate of her and eventually sympathize with Kyouka for what she went through, and Kyouka might start seeing Higuchi outside Akutagawa's influence, find out that by her own she's not that bad after all. Of course, they'd still belong to enemy organizations; but compared to the past, they'd go from cold coworkers terms to friendly enemies terms if you know what I mean. It's a general belief of mine that a lot of people at the pm is still fond of Kyouka even after she left the mafia, just because... She's kind of everyone's little sister they're intimately happy for. But that's a very very romanticized take ahah

And of course I'd like to explore their relationship, I'm always in for developing female characters and the relationships between female characters!!! I obviously love Kyouka, but even Higuchi, I feel like she's got so much potential, I really hope author will bring her to the center of the spotlight at some point.

Okay so I was looking up autistic Will Graham fanfics and I came across this one autistic author who said that them and their specialist "talked about empathy vs. sympathy and autistic empathy and lack thereof and how it's not really a lack of empathy but more of lack of skills to be able to interpret said empathy".

Stardust centric oc ramble

Broo i still think its so funny how humans are viewed by the rest of the planets asdfgfdgssfh, yall know in usual sci fi it´s like “oh aliens dont deem us worthy” or “they want to end us actually” , but in my oc canon, aliens are just incredibly scared of earth and it´s surrounding zone

they *used* to keep communication up with earth, its got a wide variety of guardians so manufacturing stuff is cheaper and all that, but after the Time´s end incident? no shot they´re getting near that thing...

like, POV you´re an alien in a far away planet and you see that stuff got so badly out of hand on that one inoffensive looking export based planet that the majority of the population lost their powers and got their memories scrambles (people can do that??), and had all it´s major kingdoms and cities fractured and rearranged into an unrecognizable mess. 

even their sub dimensions cut off entrance and communication, and there seems to be a void infestation starting to unravel, since their Solari has been dead for eons, and they´d been keeping those at bay with specialized guardian teams

oh heck no, not getting near that thing, what the frick-

so now aliens do visit earth semi regularly, but theyre usually outlaws of some kind, hiding in a legendarily dangerous planet as a last resort. Meanwhile humans have somewhat rebuilt their protection systems in secret, but the people dealing with voids are always a little too unhinged, and every major zone is monitored constantly by an entire clan of the guys who scrambled everyone's memories

also they'll straight up make people disappear if they start digging up clues of earth's actual history instead of blissfully accepting the modern AU :)
