being a marauders fan can be so draining because why am i doing homework? like the required reading is a bunch of 500k+ word fanfics, but i got extra credit bc i read the 7-book source material and also this week i have an excel sheet due of all the different fancasts for the characters which speaking of i hope you memorized all those family trees because we have a quiz next tuesday- oh where does pandora go? idk fill in an answer. thankfully my wip isn't due until the end of the semester but i need to research and memorize these spells like I'M A WIZARD and then cite my sources when people say i got them wrong. anyways, i gtg study bye.

WAIT OMG GUYS I JUST THOUGHT SOMETHING

We all know how Luna was there for Pandora’s death, right? Like she remembers it fairly vividly, though she doesn’t know what Pandora was actually doing, yeah?

Pandora died trying to finish Reg’s mission of destroying the locket.

Luna and Pandora were in the presence of some insanely powerful Dark Magic when it inevitably lashed out and killed Pandora. We know that souls, in the presence of such magic, often latch onto anything they can.

What if a part of Pandora’s soul latched onto Luna? Pandora would have set wards around her workspace to keep the Horcrux magic from escaping, so it’s not entirely unbelievable that her soul, once separated from her body, wouldn’t have had anywhere to go either. And because there was no intent to kill, any maliciousness, nor desire to remain immortal, her soul wouldn’t have manifested into a Horcrux.

The way Luna is a sorta kinda seer/heliopath, gets her “feelings”, and sees the world in a completely different light than the others around her might, in part, be some of the influence of her mum’s soul. Luna may think she was simply holding what she remembers of Pandora close, but maybe it’s actually Pandora holding onto Luna from the afterlife.

So I have a theory. This gets long so buckle up bitches.

Its said by luna that her mother(pandora) was killed while practicing experimental magic right? Well. What spell was she trying to create? Why would she create a spell? Here's what I think.

Wizard paintings. How do they move, how do they answer the same way they the original witch or wizard would?

They would have to have an intelligence, memories, etc because the headmaster and headmistress portraits in hogwarts are in the current headmaster/headmistress' study so that they can ask the portraits questions and get advice on how to deal with certain matters.

How do they achieve this? Magic, yes. But. What do they put in the portraits to give them memories, feelings, etc.

Well. I am thinking they put a bit of the witch/wizards soul in the painting. They put a but of the soul in the painting so that it has memories, and the same reactions as the original person would have had.

Now. What else do you put a piece of your soul in?

A horcrux.

So I'm thinking. Wizard paintings could potentially be a less sinister version of the horcrux.

But there is no spell for reviving people using their paintings, or people would be doing it left, right and center.

So.

When Regulus died in the cave going after voldemorts horcrux, well, he died. No more reggie :(

But he was his parents only Heir.

Sirius left.

So there is no way in hell they would not have made a painting of him to hang in the house in memorial. They thought he died for voldemort. They were as proud as they could be of him(considering what messed up freaks his parents were).

So we'll assume regulus had a painting at Grimauld.

But in order of the pheonix, his painting is never mentioned.

So:

Pandora knew that regulus was turning on voldemort, and going after the horcrux.

What if years after regulus died, Pandora figured out that there was a part of his soul in the painting.

So she stole it from grimaul place, and kept it in her home for years, talking to him, and trying to revive him.

Evan is dead. So is dorcas. And Barty is insane, unreachable at this point, slowly being driven mad over the grief of losing evan(i have a theory on how he died ill get to it someday.) And she is practically alone. Exept for xeno.(forgive me i cant spell his name)

Now this can go two ways.

1. Pandora finds a spell that would work(lets say she killed crows and painted them and managed to revive them from their paintings or something.) And when she tries on on Regulus' painting, because he was an inferi in the lake, it dosent work because of the dark magic keeping him tied to the lake, and Pandora is killed in the process.

2. She thinks she has the spell, but it backfires. Instead of reviving regulus, it kills her.
