A little bit concerning now autism-coding evolved from originally meaning "this character is said or implied to be inspired by a real person from the writer's life who later ended up discovering they're autistic or were actually always autistic, or that we can arguably assume were autistic; while this is almost never a conscious writing decision it is a representation of autistic people always being around and someone caring and loving them enough to make them into a story, and are therefore relatable to other autistic people in a unique way because they were never intended to be written as Token Autistic but instead as a full person and avoided the harmful tropes connected to autism" to now "actually this character is autistic and the writers Always Wanted to State That they just couldn't because #evilcensorship. Source trust me bro"

What do you think of the show's seeming obsession with everyone (the leads especially) being the best and the top? Like, Marinette's parents don't just run a good bakery, they run the Best Bakery in all of Paris! Kitty Section gets a record deal with the city's top producer! Marinette is the personal designer of Jagged Stone! Alya runs a super popular video blog! Max isn't just the resident smart kid, he can make AI with real feelings!
Oh, but actually, Marinette and Adrien are also top of the class (the webisodes straight-up state Adrien is best in class, surpassing Max and Sabrina, and Marinette gets top grades in Chameleon despite all the workload), because how dare our leads be not good at something?
And that's not getting into "Marinette and Adrien are the best LB and CN ever" stuff. That part is best chalked up to Tikki and Plagg being encouraging, because otherwise the show dunks on all the historical figures they made holders, all at once.
Anyway, with everyone in class being a) hyper talented and famous or b) related to some big nabob, it's not surprising that fans thought it was some elite private school. But no, it's apparently a regular state school (holy smokes, why would Andre and Gabriel send their children to a regular state school??)
That would work in a story where comical exaggeration was the absolute norm, but seems like Miraculous tries to be grotesque and realistic at the same time and fails at both.
Oh look, it's time to talk about Kim Possible again! Phineas and Ferb, too. I'll even use My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic to really drive this one home.
It's incredibly normal for episodic kids shows to have the cast be ridiculously talented and connected. They do this for a couple of reasons.
The first reason is that the characters are meant to be stagnant. Every episode stands alone so there's no time for true character growth. That means that the characters need to be their best selves right from day one. Kim Possible doesn't have time to let Kim learn to fight and be awesome. That's just her default state.
Small life lessons may be taught as we see in both Kim Possible and My Little Pony, but you can miss an episode and still understand the characters because those life lessons didn't really matter to the characters. They weren't there as part of some major character journey. They were there for the kids at home.
The second reason is that kids shows star kids and teens. You don't want adults to be too involved, but sometimes you want "adult" powers and so the kid and teen characters get ridiculous upgrades. A great example is Wade from Kim Possible. Wade is Kim's tech guy. He's also 10-years-old. Absurd? Yes, but they wanted Kim to have cool teach while also keeping the reoccurring hero cast mostly teens and kids and so we get Wade. Phineas and Ferb is another example of this. The titular characters are shown doing things like welding even though they're around 10. This happens because they need to have ridiculous skills for the show to work.
The third reason is that the more connected the characters are, the more stories you can tell. If Marinette's parents don't have a successful and popular bakery, then they can't be hired to cater major events like a movie premier. If Kitty Section isn't wildly successful, then they won't get invited to appear on TV.
This is why Kim Possible made Kim's dad a rocket scientist. It let the show use rockets and advanced tech in several episode. There's at least one where they go to space! The main character of My Little Pony is the student of the kingdom's ruler, allowing the show to include princesses and have plot lines around things ranging from royal balls to diplomatic missions. Things they couldn't do if it was just about some random ponies with no connections.
Some kids shows keep the characters more normal and stick to more realistic hijinks, but when your show is about magic and superheroes, it makes sense to go big.
The reason Miraculous' version of these things doesn't work for some people is probably because of our ever present issue: Miraculous feels too serialized. There's too much connective tissue for the characters to get away with being stagnant. The lessons they "learn" are too big to just go away never to be touched on again. They are not their best selves from day one. They actually do need to grow! This makes the things they're good at feel hollow to some because the show didn't set Marinette and Adrien up the way Kim Possible set up Kim and Ron or the way Phineas and Ferb set up its leads. The character's adult skills don't fit their very real flaws.
Similarly, the show has added all these celebrity connections and then done stuff that makes it feel like those connections should matter to the plot when that's not the way this is usually played. My Little Pony kept Princess Celestia well removed from the things Twilight and her friends were getting up to. It never felt like she should step in. She had a kingdom to run! The show also never treated Twilight's connection as a big deal. Celestia might be the country's ruler, but she's very down to earth. She doesn't feel all that special.
Meanwhile, in Miraculous, the celebrities are treated like celebrities, they often have close ties to the cast, and they are actively around, making it feel like they should play a part in the story at times. The big example is, as always, Lila's lies. Many of them should fall apart because of who the cast knows or, conversely, the cast shouldn't care about Lila's celebrity friends because they have those friends, too. Princess Fragrance was a season one episode and gave Rose a close friendship with Prince Ali that is confirmed to be ongoing in season four's Guiltrip, making it deeply confusing when Rose never catches on to Lila's bullshit. You're really telling me that Rose never once talked to her good friend Ali about her good friend Lila? Really? Rose? Little miss loves-to-talk-about-her-friends-and-how-much-she-love-them? Sure, writers. Sure.
In summary, the problem isn't that the characters are too cool, connected, and talented, it's how those ideas were executed. There are versions of the show where the characters are fine being the best things ever and versions of the show where those elements should have been toned back. I can't really say which canon should have done because canon is a mess of episodic stories and serialized elements that has no idea what it's trying to be.

Clone High and Altered History
Tumblr media
What is the koinos kosmos (common world) and mutually assumed knowledge the series shares with viewers?
The world of Clone High shares with our world the assumption of shared history, specifically that of famous historical figures, such as Abraham Lincoln, Cleopatra, John F. Kennedy, Mahatma Gandhi, and Joan of Arc. The progression of time and history is the same as our world, with the caveat of the cloning of these and many more historical figures in the 1980s by “secret government employees” who then grow up and attend high school together.
How does the series depict cultural hybridity through the alerted history’s role in reflecting and reshaping cultural assumptions?
This show plays with our cultural assumptions about historical figures, which plays out in real time as the characters have to grapple with their senses of self and responsibility to their past selves. Clone High also comedically positions them in the social context of high school, giving different historical figures different highschool tropes to belong to, such as John F. Kennedy and Cleopatra as the popular couple. Putting all the clones in one social context allows for our culturally assumed ideas of their personas to play out. For example, in Episode Two: Election Blu-Galoo, Abraham Lincoln and JFK both run for student body president, which forces them to confront their relationship with their past selves and living up to their reputations. The episode also jokingly plays on popular perceptions of the two characters as JFK cites his perception of why his former self was popular because he was a “macho, womanizing stud who conquered the moon.” In this way, the show doesn’t necessarily work towards a reshaping of cultural assumptions about these characters, rather, a satirical reflection of the absurdity of some of our assumptions as a challenge to how history gets told.
How does the series depict the power of understanding world-creation?
Clone High jokingly posits a secret government organization, aptly named The Secret Board of Shadowy Figures as the antagonist controllers of the school, with the middle man of Principal Scudworth, a scientist who secretly wants to betray the Shadowy Figures and use the clones for his own benefit: a clone themed amusement park. Although the structures of power are very comedically constructed in Clone High, they represent an ongoing trope of government secret activities that should be questioned. The power of history is also a very important theme of the show, although told in a joking manner. Clone High’s emphasis on cultural assumptions about historical figures and their pubescent search for who they are given their historical expectations emphasizes the historic sense of self of average people as generated by their relationship with their history. The clones are shown to hold much power, which the shadow government and Principal Scudworth try to manipulate, through their hold on modern identification with and understandings of the past.
In what ways do formulations of the past, present, and future engage with prospective realities of what might have been and what might be in the series’ alerted history?
This show focuses mostly on how expectations and social contexts of the past may be translated through clones in the present. However, the “present” timeline of Clone High is open for interpretation, with the existence of technologies such as cloning and artificially intelligent robots. These futuristic technologies, for me, exist more as a cartoon version of the present, much like Dr. Doofenshmirtz’s inventions in Phineas and Ferb, than reflections of a future setting. The tension between past and present, especially in the context of American highschool, is highlighted most in Clone High. The show exists to analyze our current social setting more than the past or future.
How do multiple realities or contemplations of multiple realities merge with questions of authenticity?
Authenticity is a question the clones struggle with a lot in Clone High. They are technically exact clones of these figures, but growing up in the context of the US in the 21th century in foster families and surrounded by other clones. Feeling like they aren’t keeping up with the expectations of their original self is an ongoing theme, as well as the assumption that the personalities of their originals are innate to them. When Gandhi and JFK get into a fight, Abraham Lincoln tries to get in between them, saying: “I have the DNA of Abraham Lincoln. Resolving disputes is in my nature.” He is completely ineffective as JFK continues pummeling Gandhi. Ultimately, as Thrall speaks to in “Shifting Histories, Blurred Borders, and Mediated Sacred Texts in Philip K. Dick’s The Man in the High Castle,” Clone High positions authenticity as a gray area: something that may not be attainable or even a true state of being. The clones are technically as “authentic” as they can be, but it is also impossible for them to be exactly the same as their past counterparts.

Perry the Platypus and Doctor Heinz Doofenshmirtz as God Teired Homestuck Trolls! (Or, well. A troll and a lusus anyway)
Classpect analysis under the cut!
Perry the Platypus is a Knight of Heart. Knights are those who defend with/for/utilizing their aspect, usually using their aspect as both a “sword” (to attacking with) and shield (to mask parts of themselves). Heart players deal with the heart - soul, being, and in a distant way the connections we have to our bodies and the desires we instinctually have. Knights have a habit of hiding parts of themselves, and Heart players have a habit of fragmenting themselves for others. They might have a variety of different personalities, each tailored to a different group of people. None of these personalities are fake, of course, and every aspect of the player is an entirely honest version of themselves. But they can have trouble actually opening up to anyone, and tend to feel guilty over that.
Nepeta, for example, never purposefully told Karkat how she felt about him, and was therefore never able to get closure for that relationship. Similarly, Karkat (a knight) KNEW how she felt about him, but never had the heart to tell her he didn’t feel the same and let their relationship grow awkward despite their friendship meaning a lot to him. Shielding her from his feelings instead of finding closure and moving on to repair their friendship. Meanwhile, Dirk literally fractured himself to make himself more appealing to his friends, giving Jake Brain Ghost Dirk to satisfy his needs, giving the rest of his friends Hal to keep them company while he was busy, even giving a piece of himself to lil Hal to keep Caliborn happy.
Perry does the same thing. He hides the intelligent secret agent side of himself from his host family to protect them from that part of himself, and he hides his emotional needs from OWCA to maintain the facade of the perfect secret agent and protect them. He even hides parts of himself from the Doofenshmirtzes at first, before they inevitably started wearing down his barriers and he started trusting them with a little bit of both sides of himself. And even then, he still hides things from them - Vanessa doesn’t know he’s the Flynn-Fletcher pet, and Heinz doesn’t know about Perry’s host family until his brief stunt as an OWCA agent during the OWCA files. He fractures himself to protect people.
Meanwhile, Heinz Doofenshmirtz is a Prince of Time. Princes are cursed with their aspect, and though they are the rulers of their aspect, they are also bound to serve their aspect in turn. It is the sort of power that makes itself known as a burden, and Princes often find themselves trying to destroy their aspects in order to alleviate their burden of power. Dirk tries to destroy his own soul in a million small ways, and Eridan tries to destroy hope for everyone else - but even this destruction is in service to their aspect! By trying to destroy his own soul, Dirk creates many splinters that each in turn have an entire soul of their own, and Eridan was trying to destroy hopes of rebellion in the hopes that their oppressors would be greatful enough to spare him and some of his friends.
Heinz is extremely similar in this regard. In Phineas and Ferb, he creates his inators in service to his past (ie his tragic backstories), and equips them with literal self-destruct buttons so that the service (the time he put into making them) can be destroyed by the end of the day. And in later seasons, he is EXTREMELY PROTECTIVE of his self destruct buttons, and knows intuitively that his inventions MUST have the ability to be easily destroyed.
Then in Milo Murphy’s law, he starts serving his own future as Professor Time, which in a way is just as much of a burden to him as his tragic backstories were. He has an entire legacy to live up to, and is burdened by the knowledge that his own future self is a famous public figure. In his efforts to live up to this, he causes more harm than good, and eventually retreats into the Murphy’s home in an attempt to create a better origin story for his future self. He never had good parents, so he tries to make himself the son of Mr. and Mrs. Murphy, who he already knows are good parents. He never had a good relationship with his own little brother Roger, so he tries to become a good older brother to Milo and Sarah.
It’s a little bit misguided, (and yes, kind of cringey), but you can see his logic, his desire to heal the trauma he’s already suffered through by giving himself a fresh start. All the while not quite realizing he’s already kind of HAD a fresh start, with Perry and Norm and Vanessa.
Anyway. Perry’s shoes are Space Black, because the player he has to help most is Ferb (the knight has to protect the space player as they create the new universe, after all). Heinz’s shoes are Blood Brown, because the player he ends up impacting the most during the game is Isabella.

Binge-worthy (Batfam Headcanons)
My brain has been on the fritz, so binging shows and completing fiber craft wips has been about the only non-classwork activity I can handle.
Dick
Doesn't often binge watch shows, if ever. He doesn't like feeling like he's wasting time in front of a screen when he could be out there working a case, doing a job, saving a kitten from a tree or helping an old lady with groceries, etc etc.
Sometimes he can't sleep though, and there are two shows that are always on somewhere in the variety of his cable package: Law & Order SVU and Criminal Minds. Sometimes Dami snuggles up with him and they share ice cream and cry over SVU stories that hit a little too close to home until dawn comes to cleanse the morning.
He's seen just about every episode of each. And he has a Lot Of Feelings about SVU.
Be the Olivia Benson that you want to see in the world.
Jason
You cannot tell me this child does not love nasty TLC dramas. Say Yes to the Dress (he likes Atlanta best, but the og is also *chef's kiss*), Seeking Sister Wives, I Love a Mama's Boy, 90 Day Fiance, My 600lbs Life.... He's seen them all.
There are some days where it is too icky out for villains, so he holes himself up in a safehouse with snacks otherwise banned from the mannor, and alternates between trashy tv shows and classic lit.
Steph, Cass, and Babs usually break in and they all end up falling asleep screeching at the tv together.
Cass
No one ever sees her actually watching tv or streaming any shows online, but she's always up to date with the popular programs.
Knows all the good B99 quotes, and always deploys them with the best timing. It drives Tim crazy because he's always trying to watch them with her but they're always too busy.
The secret is she watches everything with Bruce. It's their bonding time, snacking on Alfred-approved pre-patrol snacks and having peaceful time before patrol.
Tim
Kinda watches things? But kinda doesn't. He plays things in the background while doing other things. So he gets the stories, but doesn't always get the details.
Loves all the different Star Treks and also some older programs, like I Love Lucy, I Dream of Jeannie, Gilligan's Island, MASH.... Old sitcoms make him nostalgic, because his dad used to enjoy them.
Sometimes if he's having a bad day he'll watch one and kind of just doze in and out, not really paying attention.
On those days, Alfred sits with him if he has the time. Tim's out of it, like his brain is resetting, and Alfred will just kinda pet his head, make sure he's getting fluids (tea, non-caffeinated, or flavored water). They don't talk, and it's possible that Tim isn't even fully aware that he's there. But it's nice.
Duke
When my man binges, he BINGES. Sometimes they don't see him for days. That's how he got through all of the (modern) seasons of Dr. Who (Ten and Rose always make him tear up, but Dr. River Song is his favorite character. She's a chaotic sass machine that he aspires to emulate).
Bounces around from genre to genre. Likes fantasy, comedy, sci-fi... isn't as big on slice of life. Binging is a good way to escape, and he takes full advantage.
Famous binges have included: The Witcher, Witches of Waverly Place, Suite Life of Zack and Cody, Phineas and Ferb, The October Faction, The Order, The Haunting of Hill House, Modern Family, and Sherlock.
Damian
Duke got him hooked on anime. He literally reads manga in canon it isn't exactly a big leap. Unlike Duke, he enjoys slice of life, with maybe limited fantasy. Fruits Basket, Shugo Chara!, and Blue Exorcist are all things he's watched and enjoyed, but that's about as "fantasy" as he'll get.
Found family/friends are his favorite types of story. Kabukibu! is one that he found particularly charming.
That being said, if a show has particularly stunning animation, even if it isn't his favorite genre, he'll watch it. The first few seasons of RWBY, for example.
Oh my GOD LAND OF THE LUSTROUS. Dick agreed to binge watch it with him on a whim and they ended up not emerging from the bed until they'd seen all the episodes. No food, no sleep. Just story and beautiful perfect animation. When they were seen again they were in tears and demanded that Bruce figure out how to fund a second season. He told him that he'd work on it and be the hero that we all need, I NEED MORE OK?!

How would you prioritize WOY’s proper conclusion if you were in charge of Disney?
Ah yes, a question that entices anyone who knows how a higher-up boss of bosses of bosses should treat the company’s IPs, including one that was professionally made by a cartoonist with over twenty years of experience. It just so happens that in the Disney College Program back in 2016, I took a class called Disney Corporate Analysis, giving me an idea of how the businesses within the company are intertwined.
Let’s start with how I would have prioritized WOY’s conclusion if the year was 2015, just one week before S2’s premiere.
Imagine, if you will, sitting in the office of that building with the Seven Dwarfs near the top, overlooking everything, and I mean everything, owned by the world-famous entertainment conglomerate that is the Walt Disney Company... movie studios, theme parks, merchandising, cruises, theatre, and television.
After you finish your time looking at Inside Out’s month-long performance and the status of Mission: Breakout, you check on Disney TV Animation - two of the latest shows (Penn Zero: Part-Time Hero and Star vs. the he Forces of Evil) are in full swing, Phineas and Ferb have gotten a satisfying conclusion like Fish Hooks did the year before, The 7D is having a decent run so far, Gravity Falls is in its second season where Grunkle Stan’s twin brother appears, Pickle and Peanut is in production, and the 1-minute Wander Over Yonder shorts have been airing on a daily basis, less than two weeks away from the second season premiere. You also learn that several months ago, Craig McCracken presented a pitch for his third and final season of WOY, wherein Wander and Sylvia take most of the folks back to their planets with the Star Nomad, Lord Hater’s origin story is revealed, Peepers is tempted by a darker side, and a threat worse than Dominator comes around to test Wander. You start taking a liking to this concept.
You get a hold of Gary Marsh, who has already approved of Milo Murphy’s Law and Future-Worm. You tell him, “Make sure Craig gets to finish WOY his way.” He responds, “What? I was just about to cancel it after two seasons because the viewers love GF and SvtFoE more. Also, many other viewers seem more interested in AT, Gumball, SU...” You say, “Are you out of your mind? We gave Fish Hooks three seasons and a good conclusion regardless of the popularity of P&F and other shows, and if Craig and the team has one more season lovingly planned out to close out WOY, I say we make it happen.” Gary says, “But, but the budget-” “Don’t worry about it. Remember when you wanted to give GF a third season even though Alex planned to end it his way after two seasons? Why not take the money you were going to give him and put it towards Wander’s third season?” “But-” “But nothing. Here at Disney, we make dreams come true. If we cancel WOY too soon, Craig and his fans will be displeased. I tell you what: put the show on another hiatus so we’ll have more time focusing on newer projects.” “...I guess we can make it work.” “Great! I’ll see you and Ben in the next meeting.”
Now, if I were in charge after WOY was canceled after two seasons, here’s how I’d set my priorities for DTVA:
2020: This year, we have S3 of DuckTales (which I’m pretty sure Francisco Angones loves more than WOY at this point), continuation of The Owl House, The Curse of Molly McGee and S2 of Amphibia in the works, and other shows that fare well on television even with Disney+ in full swing. Speaking of which, shows like Monsters at Work and The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder are slated for the streaming service, and I plan to put WOY on it by the end of the year. If it fares well, which it should, I’d invite Craig McCracken back to the company as soon as he finishes Kid Cosmic, assuming he already has a perfect ending in mind. Most importantly, I would have already dispensed with reruns of Phineas and Ferb, Gravity Falls, and Star vs. the Forces of Evil, because they can be found on D+ now.
2021: Aside from supporting TOH and TCoMM, Craig turns 50 that year, so what better way to celebrate that milestone than to remedy the wrong done back in 2015 by giving him the privilege of making one more season (or a TV movie) for WOY and make it a D+ exclusive so fans will finally find out what’s worse than Dominator and how Hater came to be. Regardless of how Kid Cosmic performs on Netflix, I’d be willing to take that chance. If Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon were able to pull it off with their own prematurely canceled shows, I don’t see why Disney can’t.
2022: I would assume TOH, TCoMM, and some other new shows continue to thrive. If DuckTales, Big City Greens, and Amphibia have had the chance to end right, great. 15 months after I give Craig the OK on S3 (or TV movie), the hard work from the supporters of SaveWOY will have finally paid off... Wander Over Yonder: The New Galaxy (either one season or TV movie) arrives on Disney+ in late fall/early winter. I’d make it happen because I’ve seen countless letters, a few of which had this image taped on the front...
Tumblr media
There was even one letter from a current Disneyland cast member that made a good point. It stated that if it wasn’t for WOY’s positive impact on his life, he wouldn’t have gotten into the Disney College Program. I thought, “If I let Craig close out WOY his way, his fans will be ecstatic and some might have a better chance at getting to work for Disney and I’ll have more employees!” Remember, folks, it helps to have witty and perceptive remarks in your letters. Be sure they’re politely written, though.
If the reception of WOY’s real conclusion is warm and positive, which it will be, no doubt, I might feel extra generous and give some other more prematurely canceled shows one more go for better conclusions (Dave the Barbarian, The Buzz on Maggie, American Dragon: Jake Long, to name a few).
The main point is, I know all Wander fans have put up with the popularity of overrated shows and not knowing what the new main characters of S3 look like long enough. I also know there are a few folks (specifically the voice actors) who might not have long to live - June Squibb (Stella Starbella), for example, is 90, and I’m pretty sure she might need a back up voice actor if we wait any longer. If the hints brought up by @suspendersofdisbelief, @owner-of-wendys, and @crackmccraigen himself are any indication, the third and final season is supposed to be the best one yet, and I would have to be an asinine moron to deny them the chance to show the viewers what they had planned. Some others, including @atalkingmagpie, @benbalistreri, and possibly @skulptduggery, know what happens after S2, given their significant involvement in the show.
I know Craig and the team have been working on other projects for a while, but that shouldn’t hide the fact that they put their heart and soul into how WOY’s actual final season would play out, and by golly, I will not let it go unnoticed, especially not while COVID-19 is affecting the world.
Remember, I had a part in the reveal of the ship’s name, so more answers might come up when Craig sees fit.

6 People of Color Who are Stars in the Voice Acting Industry
Important People of Color in the Voice Acting Industry
When people throw around the term "whitewashing," they most often refer to live action adaptations. People have mostly let the animation and video game production community slide when these companies cast white actors to voice characters who are people of color. However, there has been recent support for ending whitewashing in voice acting.
Today learn a little about the beginnings of the movement to end whitewashing in voice acting as well as 6 of the most successful people of color who are voice actors.
Whitewashing in Voice Acting
Throughout the years, animation and video game companies have been using white actors for the voice of their characters, despite their ethnicity. A close look at the Disney princess movie timeline reveals that Princess Jasmine, the first Middle-Eastern princess, has the speaking voice of a white woman and the singing voice of a Filipina woman.
However, these productions have no problem farming out the animation to agencies run by non-westerners. For example, "Avatar: The Legend of Aang" was created by Americans but animated by Studio Mir, a Korean studio. Other 2D animation outsourcing companies provide similar arrangements.
Change began in 2020 when actress Jenny Slate announced that she would no longer provide the voice of Missy, a Black character, in the animated series "Big Mouth." Her example opened the floodgates as people called out other productions with white actors in people of color roles. Kristen Bell followed suit, stepping down from the role of a Black character, Molly, in "Central Park."
This soon led to other animated series finally announcing that roles denied to people of color will now be open to people who match the race and ethnicity of the character.
6 People of Color Voice Actors
Now that there are new roles finally opening up to people of color voice actors, it's the time to appreciate those who have carved successful careers for themselves despite the whitewashing.
1. Olivia Olson
Olivia Olson is a talented biracial singer and voice actor. Her first foray into acting was in the 2003 romantic-comedy anthology "Love, Actually." Her singing was so good, the editors had to tweak her performance because they didn't think audiences would believe someone so young could have that much talent. As a voice actor, she is most known for providing the speaking and singing voice of Vanessa Doofenshmirtz in "Phineas and Ferb" and Marceline the Vampire Queen in "Adventure Time."
2. Dante Basco
Dante Basco was also an actor before making it big in voice acting. He appeared as Rufio, the de facto head of the Lost Boys in Pan's absences in 1991's "Hook." As a voice actor, his two most famous performances were as people of color. The first was the biracial protagonist of "American Dragon: Jake Long." But his most enduring performance would be as the troubled and banished Prince Zuko from "Avatar: The Legend of Aang."
3. Kevin Michael Richardson
Kevin Michael Richardson's deep, resonant voice is so distinct you'll probably remember any character he's ever played and recognize him. After a career as a live-action actor in the '90s, Richardson's voice performances include Captain Gantu in the "Lilo and Stich" franchise, Kilowog in the "Green Lantern" animated series and Rhombulus in "Star vs the Forces of Evil." He also has an extensive list of voice acting performances in video games, including Grommash Hellscream in "World of Warcraft" and Stump Smash in the "Skylanders" series.
4. Keith Ferguson
Keith Ferguson is one of the most versatile people of color voice actors in the whole industry. He's most known for providing sound-alike performances for other actors. Some of his most notable sound-alike performances include the voice of Han Solo in "The Lego Movie" and Lightning McQueen in the "Cars" tie-in video game. Aside form playing Lord Hater in "Wander Over Yonder" and Zuzo in "Elena of Avalor," Ferguson has also worked for literally dozens of video games. His video game performances include various voices in the Dragon Age series, Mass Effect video games and the Final Fantasy saga.
5. Estelle
Estelle is a successful singer, with multiple awards and albums under her belt. She broke out into voice acting by providing the speaking and singing voice for Garnet in "Steven Universe." The character and Estelle's performance have gathered praise from the LGBTQ+ community and people of color for her strength and complex portrayal. Estelle reprised the role in the sequel miniseries and the feature film.
6. Cree Summer
Cree Summer is one of the most prolific voice actors in the industry, providing the voice for animated characters since 1983. Her first role was a Penny from Inspector Gadget. Her extensive list of roles include Princess Kida in "Atlantis: The Lost Empire,"Nefertina in "Mummies Alive!,"Foxxy Love in "Drawn Together,"Numbuh Five in "Codename: Kids Next Door" and Witch Haggar in "Voltron: Legendary Defender." Cree Summer also has plenty of video game voice acting credits that start in 1996, with her voicing at least one character in a game every year since then.
Despite the massive outpour of support for people of color in voice acting only surging recently, there are already plenty of established POC voice actors in the industry. The massive ongoing support will help them, and new voice actors, get more roles that were previously given to white people. Here's to celebrating a new era of inclusivity and representation in animation and video games.

Prior to this class, I must say that I am not someone who is very familiarized with Frankenstein. It is a story and character that I have heard countless time whether used as a brief cameo or even verbiage when referring to something ghastly or terrifying. However, in terms of referring to the specific story told through literature or film, it isn’t something I can comfortably say that I know very well. My earliest encounter I can say that I have with Frankenstein is an episode in the Disney Channel cartoon series Phineas and Ferb. If I recall it correctly, the episode was a Halloween special where the two main characters, Phineas and Ferb, created a monstrous creature bringing it to life. I also Phineas screaming the famous lines “It’s alive! It’s alive!” while his crazed eyes looked upon his creation. I believe contemporary media likes to use Frankenstein to show the impact of greed. From my little understanding of the story, Dr. Frankenstein took advantage of the Creature and in turn got what was coming to him. Often times in shows or movies, we see how scientists, or doctors have the ability to create something amazing. However, we end up seeing how their discovery is used greedy and dangerous ways that ends in tragedy for everyone involved. Frankenstein in the contemporary sense can also tell the story of how sometimes the monster that everyone else sees is often shaped by much more complex elements that we are unable to see clearly at face. An easy example I could use to support this point is a serial killer. People often see serial killers as monstrous individuals. I will not defend the actions of a person who murders people, however it could be understood and pointed out that often times these people’s childhoods are often very turbulent and unstable. More times than not, the people involved in a serial killers early developmental years along with things done to them have a significant effect on them becoming a disturbed individual later on in life.
Reading Reflection
My reflection will be discussing my views on Edmund Burke’s view on the French Revolution. I understand that being in the year 2020 while residing in the democracy of the United States of America will make my personal views on society significantly different from the monarchy in which Burke was a member of. However, I still found his points to be laughable at best. He makes his points regarding why the people should not have the rights to choose their own governments without any real substance. He also repeats his points several times, however stated in different ways, further supporting the point that his so called “argument” has no substance. It’s as if a student is given a debate topic and did absolutely no research on said topic and just did their best attempt to not receive a zero. Burke states that he does not believe in the existence of “right to man”, however he is unable to see that the manner in which he defends the monarchy, his position does not defend that right to man.

While "the network wants an episodic kids show, the authors want an epic dark complicated narrative" would explain A LOT about ML's problems, I'd still like to note that there are kids' shows that can do both, going full range from "mostly episodic with a sprinkle of narrative" (Kim Possible, MLP), to "heavily narrative but with episodic breather/filler episodes" (Gravity Falls, WITCH, the Owl House), with many variants in-between.
Even the transition from "fully episodic" to "more narratively-connected" that ML attempted to do can be done successfully - the aforementioned Gravity Falls and WITCH were more episodic in season 1 and more narratively driven in season 2.
However, I'd say there are a few other key problems that can be inferred from what we have:
The show tries too many things at once - as you have pointed out repeatedly. Magical girl and rom-com, single-hero, duo and team stories, wacky comedy and serious trauma, even trying to give several characters a redemption and a damnation arc at the same time (and failing with either). Apparently, it's not just TF vs writers: it's writers severely disagreeing with each other (see Thomas and Vincent's opinions on Chloe), and also trying to one-up the fans. Also, simply thinking too much of the work, which leads us to...
ML's total lack of self-awareness. Another famous case of a show that was almost entirely episodic is Phineas and Ferb. They use the same formula (the brothers build, Candace busts, Doof makes an Inator and is thwarted by Perry) over and over for four seasons. And by mid-season 1, the authors have been making fun of the structure, lampshading it, spoofing and twisting it, playing with "What if" episodes and never taking itself too seriously. When ML tries to be self-aware, it becomes either insulting to the fans (Animaestro), horrifically dark (Chat Blanc) or plain cringe (Simpleman). This is exacerbated by Astruc's arrogance and inability to ignore critics.
Is it possible to make a highly complex, genre-busting, yet kid-friendly story and succeed? Yes. But it needs to be better thought-out - if not from the start, then at the moment the network allows one to deviate from the formula.
And if all else fails and the story becomes too complicated and too repetitive at the same time... Well, self-awareness and the ability to make fun of one's own work can turn a sad mess into a hilariously fun disaster.
P. S. Love your posts as always, you are the main reason I'm still in the fandom!
Thank you for the kind words! I'm so glad that you're enjoying my stuff and I agree with all the things you brought up.
A big part of the reason that Miraculous is so fascinating to me is that there ISN'T a single cause of the issues. There are so many valid ways to discuss the show's problems. It's a masterclass in bad writing and what not to do!
It's why I'm able to run this blog. If it was as simple as, "here's the single reason why it's bad and here's how you fix that" or if the show never had any potential, then there wouldn't be much to talk about. But it did have potential and there is no single reason why it's bad. The causes are multitudinous as are the potential fixes! It feels like investigating some complex wreckage or an elaborate murder mystery in order to understand what the hell happened, which is really fun if you like talking about writing.
I find it much harder to discuss writing in an informative way if you only have good examples to draw from because that path risks stifling creativity. Just because a popular story did a thing well doesn't mean that story showed us the only way to do the things or even the best way to do the thing, but that's often the lesson people seem to learn. They see a thing that they like or even just a thing that audiences liked and want to copy it without understanding the full nuance of why they liked it.
A great example of this is Zuko from Avatar the Last Airbender. He was such a well-written and popular character that all these properties started copying him even though the properties in question did NOT have a setup that worked for a Zuko. Praising Zuko won't really tell you all the ways that Zuko could have failed. Meanwhile, a case study of Chloe vs Zuko or even just a general discussion of Chloe lets you actually talk about the various styles of redemption arc and what you have to do to make them feel real. It's also far more interesting than talking how Zuko could have failed because Zuko didn't fail so why are we even talking about this? It's also far more interesting than talking about a bunch of properties that did redemption arcs well because that would require you to have seen all of those properties. But Chloe is from a single property and she did fail and people understandably have wildly different feelings about what the failure was because the writing was so bad, which means that digging into her writing is way more likely to hold your interest and teach you something.
This gif really does sum it up perfectly:
Tumblr media
[Image description: scene from the movie Knives Out where the detective Benoit Blanc exclaims "It makes no damn sense! It compels me though" to explain his feelings on an ongoing murder mystery that he's trying to solve]
As does the old adage, "failure is the greatest teacher." Of course, no one ever said that it had to be your failure!

ENC3312 Blog Post 1
The most I know about Frankenstein is that much of society has portrayed him as a monster, when really, it’s his creator that was the monster. The creator’s name is Frankenstein and he’s the one who wanted to play God and create something that he shouldn’t have. I first encountered Frankenstein when I would see the monster in children’s movies and shows, also as Halloween costumes. For example, I saw the monster of Frankenstein on Phineas and Ferb and a remic of the name “Ferbenstein” or something of the like. The famous lines “it’s alive! It’s alive!” that I associate with Frankenstein is something that gets used in contemporary culture quite often. It tends to be when someone has created something that has humanlike qualities or is bringing someone up from the dead; nonetheless, characters tend to refer to their creation being their rendition of Frankenstein. Some people may argue that Frankenstein wasn’t the monster, his creation was, and they have the right to their opinion, but taking it out of the literal context of a first lens when viewing the book, movie, or any contextual reference, you will conclude the opposite. From what I’m aware of, someone wanted to create a being with the experimenting of several items and give it a heartbeat and a human-like brain. The only other being that has had the power to give life to something similar to a human being in my opinion is God the creator of all that exists.
Moreover, Victor Frankenstein’s creature was intentionally meant to look like the monster and I think it’s metaphorical for society tending to label the “outsider” or “anomaly” as something monstrous because it looks different, doesn’t practice the same customs/traditions, etc. and therefore it’s a monster and people should frown upon something that is unlike them. Mary Shelley points to that discrimination that’s a parallel to reality because that is how life is in modern times, so she writes it with a sense of irony. Leaves the reader with the question, “who is really the monster?” The science fiction is entertaining and is outside of the norm, so it draws people in to question it. She has strategically politicized cartoons to make her point.

The SpongeBob musical
Before I started to even listen to this I had the worst expectations, and those low expectations weren't even met. The SpongeBob musical isn't nearly beyond words, but the words that do stick out to me whenever I think of it is uncreative, confused, and boring. I heard one of the songs for the first time a few months ago and hated it from the get-go. This was a bad idea and I knew it. I saw it was nominated for Tony and was very disappointed. And the second song I heard from it was at the Tony's. I was less than thrilled. I decided I can't have a proper negative opinion about something before I've listened to it. So without seeing the stage show, I'm giving my review on the SpongeBob musical. I do acknowledge that some people really like this, and if you do, please enlighten me on the aspects that make you such a big fan, because I think there's only one song I "like" in the whole musical. Nonetheless, I went through this catastrophe and reviewed song by song, what I kinda liked and what I didn't. So without further Ado, my review of the SpongeBob musical. (I feel like that one sentence made more sense of the show. )
Here's a quick synopsis. So SpongeBob is having a nice day in Bikini Bottom, going to work etc. He meets all his friends along the way and themes the discovery of volcano is going to happen and that everyone is going to die if they don't fix it. So they stop the volcano and everything is happy. The end. Fun story right? (I thought it was stupid, frankly? So volcanos erupt underwater, I know that, but wouldn't the water immediately cool the lava down? That's how islands are made? The sea creatures shouldn't have a fear of lava, more of getting boiled alive. They could just... Swim away, but that's... Kinda addressed in the musical? Anyway. Onto it. )
"Prologue"
I really did forget the announcer was French. Kudos to them for finding a fake French accent.
"Bikini Bottom day"
So the singers in this musical aren't bad. I genuinely like all of the actors' voices. I think they're all very talented, but the stupid cartoon voices they put on made my head hurt. The rhymes are uncreative a messy. Lyrics Always balance the thin, thin line of being creative or random. SpongeBob the musical bounces back and forth between either, and the good creative parts are few and far between. The uncreative Rhymes are accompanied with an uncreative score. This song did make me laugh once or twice though. Good for that. I got some enjoyment. I do wish they could have spiced things up more in this first number. Like SpongeBob having the Bikini Bottom day little theme. What would have made it a little better for me is if the characters all had themes? Like Patrick has some Bongos in a cute little rhythm, maybe Squidward has some classical music nods, they did Sandy good with the banjo, which I liked. I wish they did more of that through the whole thing? I think it would make it better. We see excellent examples of those types of things in some amazing musicals like Les Miserables, Wicked, Into the Woods, Company, and more!! Anyway. It's excited poorly. Plankton and Squidward's voice is super, though. Like WOW. I do hate how Mr. Crabs has... Such a light voice. I wish they got a deeper one, honestly. It really sets the tone of a money grabbing crab man FOR SURE! I really cannot get over Squidward’s voice WOW. He’s too good for this musical. I give it this- it can be kinda fun. I see it too.  Plankton’s voice is good too, but. He works pretty good as a bad guy. Can I have Spongebob’s little monologue on a plaque? This is way, way too silly. And apparently, the sun shines down, because they say it ten times, but I digress.
“ No Control “
Honestly, I kinda like this one. Like, it's nice. I like how menacing it is. Like, the protagonists' parts, and that’s the parts I don’t really like. PLANKTON IS SO GOOD THOUGH!  The little rounds at the end are something I dig too. I do think that its a good set up for the main plot too. I also like the no control emphasis it has. I didn’t know that this musical was smart enough to do that. I just really like this song, though. That’s going to be a first and last.
“BFF”
It sounds like a song that a camp leader would make that all this four-year-olds want to shoot themselves over. The talent is good, though. Got good singers. I do think it’s not very creative. This song can’t get more repetitive. That is also a common theme for this musical. Repeating things so you get bored enough to listen to the poorly crafted different parts. It makes you think the differences are important and interesting when it’s just the opposite. I feel like this musical is treating me like I don’t know anything. I know this was most likely aimed at children, but kids have brains and can listen to a good musical. This song is just stupid. Again, an occurring thing
“When the Going Gets Tough “
Plankton rapping makes me laugh. The first time I listened to this was at 3am and I was laughing like an idiot when this came on. It was insane. I didn’t see it coming. That’s another thing. This musical doesn’t know what I want to be. It has so many different things. It’s trying to be diverse and has an interesting score, but I feel like it should have a coherent theme. Like I said about “Bikini Bottom Day”. There should be themes to tie things together. It’s weird how they try and give up at the same time. I’d love to be a fly on the wall in the writing room to see what was going on all these peoples’ who wrote this minds, But I do like this song.  I REALLY LIKE IT. But the “It’s time to get lost” part is bad. they should have thought about that a little more. These things rapping unironically is good though wow.
“ [Just a] Simple Sponge “
I like the guitar riff. I can tell in the first five seconds I know this song is so stupid. Chorus you’re about to hear a trillion times. The score is OK? It sounds nothing like the rest of the musical. (Ahem. have a solid theme ahem). This is really stupid and not good. Jesus Christ. It’s the least motivational motivation song I’ve ever heard. RAP AGAIN THAT WAS GOOD AND WOULD FIT TALKING AROUND HIS FRIENDS AND TIE INNN THE MUUUUSICCCCAAAALLLLLLL!
“ Daddy Knows Best “
This was the first song I heard before I actually sat down and listened to the soundtrack. I hate the song, but the tune is way too catchy. I was looking through the youtube comments while I was listening to this and the second one was “ the shit dad trope meets the capitalist agenda “ and I thought it summed up the song. also boring. It’s uncreative lyric wise and score-wise.  I want it to get  0.5 seconds faster every time it says money.
“ Hero is My Middle Name “
It’s pretty upbeat, but it needs to be more hopeful score-wise. Sandy is amazing though. Her voice and her jokes. Talent is amazing in here, REALLY! I do love the voices! The chorus is annoyingly repetitive. I want more energy to this. It’s too slow paced, but it’s an okay song.
“Super Sea Star Savior”
This sounds like a gospel chorus, which I think they’re trying to go for? I guess Patrick is Jesus? The beat is... okay? It feels very generic. I expected more from this musical this “diverse”.  This is another pointless song that doesn’t really advance the plot. The talking voice of Patrick is different than the singing one, that really bothers me. Don’t like it.
“Tomorrow Is”
I’m kinda ready for the musical to be over after that song, maybe one more song and then it being over.  Too bad that it seems we’ve not really even gotten into act two yet. This sounds like an end of act one song. If this weren’t about SpongeBob, it might be a bit better and worse. I don’t like how ambiguously “I only have tomorrow to succeed “ thing the first verse is. Squidward is singing in the second verse and I more than love his voice. I haven't seen any of the actual stage play, and do not intend to, but I like to think Squidward is having a little epic about himself trying to be a famous clarinet player, but it not working out. PLANKTON IS BACK I LOVE. It’s too happy. It's supposed to be more depressing, come on. I thought the music was going to change for a second, but it’s just that same tune over and over and over. I like this nice, little, last part, though.
“Poor Pirates”
Okay, I love this song. it’s good and amazing and has no flaw. I’m assuming that this is the beginning of act two! it’s halfway done!! I do like how self where this thing is.  It’s a good catchy and I wish the rest of the musical had this theme. It’s funny and clever and a good thing to listen to and kinda stupid, like SpongeBob. it’s good and I want the musical to be like this.
“Bikini Bottom Boogie”
I hate this song. the little electric guitar is fine and kinda cool to listen too, but really. Didn’t the Plain White T’s write this? Where’s David Hasselhoff? That was the good part about the first SpongeBob movie. I don’t want to talk about the rest of them. it’s stupid and repetitive in the wrong ways and doesn't match the rest of the musical. Diverse, not randomness. COME ON PEOPLE.
“Chop to the Top”
Sandy is my baby. I lover her. I remember this chorus was annoying, and it is. I like that usually when Sandy sings there’s a banjo. It’s good, that’s one of the only things I like about this song. I don’t like how literal it is with how scared SpongeBob was climbing up the mountain. This thing has no subtly.
“[I Guess I] Miss You”
Is the little SpongeBob Patrick makeup. This song is annoying. I hate the pacing and the words and everything. this song really reminds me of the Bully Sized Hole song in Phineas and Ferb song. It’s stupid and can’t end too soon.
“I’m Not a Loser”
This was one of the first songs that I heard from the Tony’s and I don’t like it at all.  I’m just going to skip this one because I don’t want to mess up the amazingness of Gavin Lee’s voice.
“Best Day Ever”
Okay, I think this is the song from the first movie, but Tom Kenny isn’t singing so it isn’t going to be half as good. I’ve been pretty bored since the beginning of this. Maybe that’s why I like poor pirates so much? at least it’s not boring.  Also, this song fooled me at the start. I was thinking it was a new, cool song because it doesn’t sound too bad, but then it goes into the actual song. Sure, it puts a more sad tone to it, like a more optimistic thing to it-or reason for optimism. I appreciate that. It’s still a boring song, but still.
“Finale: Bikini Bottom Day Reprise”
I hated the first one and don’t need a second one. Won’t this ever end? Thanks for the recap of everything we just witnessed. It’s not like we just watched it.  I sat for over an hour and I know what’s happening. I’m not five... But I guess that's who you’re pandering to.
Okay. I didn’t like it all and it was a waste of time. I have two catchy songs that didn’t go to the point of annoying. It’s clearly just another way to make more money for Nickelodeon. I don’t like it and it was a waste of time. I don’t see how anyone would pay to see this. No one should spend money on that, but that’s just me? IT’S CRAP.
THE END YOU’RE WELCOME

What have been your efforts in the campaign for SaveWOY and what are your upcoming plans to save WOY? Now this is a question worth answering!
In the past, I made a little list of the things I did to support SaveWOY and bring awareness to Wander Over Yonder’s existence and its third season plans. Since then, I’ve done a whole lot more from hand-drawn art to more intricate art. Some of them are almost as special as that signed poster @peepsqueak got from the WOY crew as a token of their gratitude.
Here’s an updated list of everything I did for SaveWOY so far:
Attended the SaveWOY picnic at Griffith Park, where I got to sign a banner.
Pointed out various higher-ups involved in the business of Disney television.
Sent several letters to the higher-ups, some of which had envelopes with an image of the downed space pod taped to them.
Started a weekly Twitter post series, SaveWOY Thought of the Week.
Made Lite-Brite art of Wander and Lord Hater, which Craig McCracken and Francisco Angones liked.
Attended D23 2017 with an Operation: FORCE drawing of Hater, a colored page of Wander and Sylvia and a few facts about WOY, and an orange pen with a green hat (I got the hat from the aforementioned picnic) - there, I signed a bench with Wander and the phrase, “Never hurts to help.”
Signed my name, drew Wander (and my own character, Jacken DeBox), and wrote, “Happiest place in outer space!” on the highest beam for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
Wrote a letter (and drew Wander) for the victims of the Las Vegas tragedy with the message, “The darkest times call for the sunniest smiles!”
Got Craig to reveal the name of the ship (said to play a BIG part in S3, made a cameo in Future-Worm) when I commented that we’d have to figure out the name - his response: “The ship is called The Star Nomad.”
Wrote a couple of cards to two Disney higher-ups with the message, “A little nice makes naughty think twice!”
Drew Dominator in a situation that might take place several seconds after she passes the downed space pod, just in time for Noël Wells’s B-day.
Made the Star Nomad with LEGO Digital Designer.
Made three images in the style of the original Star Wars trilogy VHS set.
Posted 50 WOYS3PredictionPolls on Twitter.
Made an image of “The First 5 Years” with over 140 individuals (including the question marks for 3 new mains and 2 new regulars - I still want to know what they look like!) and one cleverly made Hidden Mickey.
Shared WOY-related images from my 1st 5 Years fan art on Twitter acknowledging the B-days of most of the voice actors (Charlie Adler, Kevin Michael Richardson, Ken Marino, Josh Sussman, H. Michael Croner, James Adomian, Jason Ritter, and Piotr Michael clearly noticed).
Typed a summary of how I think the S3 premiere would go.
Typed lyrics to “Let’s Go Soarin’ and Explorin’,” a song from my aforementioned S3 premiere summary. Wouldn’t it be great if Andy Bean used it?
Made a microgame with WarioWare: D.I.Y. where the player has to spin the fan to make the Star Nomad fly. Part of a chorus from “Let’s Go Soarin’ and Explorin’” included.
Started FanCharacterFriday on Twitter - more Tumblr users seem to like Dr. Otmar Vunderbar.
Made a short comic page of Lord Hater trying to break out of the DTVA vault plus a sly reminder that Disney owns the rights to WOY.
Shared a list of potential episode titles for S3.
Made an actual LEGO Star Nomad based on the model made with LDD. Hopefully, those who worked on WOY have noticed. In case you missed it, here’s a picture...
Tumblr media
Now, the ideas I have in mind for further boosting support for the campaign. I may not be able to do most of them myself, but they are certainly for everyone’s consideration.
Provide updated information of higher-ups (if any).
As soon as we find out what Kid Cosmic looks like, expect fan art of him saying, “Watch my show and tell your friends so we’ll make that Mousey Company pay for what they did to my half-brother!”
Another SaveWOY picnic - if there’s one in my general area, you can count me in.
LP album artwork of My Fair Hatey.
A mural identical to that of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate consisting of not just characters from WOY, but also characters who were said to debut in S3 and characters who’d fit in perfectly, namely some of my OCs.
Pumpkin stencils of the main characters for Halloween.
Drawings of various WOY characters stuck on the ex-secret planet explaining why they need to leave said planet. Maybe I could also show how the galaxy’s villains would react if they learn that Lord Dominator’s been bested by Lord Hater.
Drawings consisting of SaveWOY-related messages spoken by the main characters from Disney shows that got at least three seasons (e.g. DuckTales, Fish Hooks), tons of love from the viewers and the executives (e.g. Gravity Falls), or both (e.g. SvtFoE, Mickey Mouse ‘13).
Example with Phineas and Ferb:
Phineas: “We may be creative and famous, but we’re not the ones who came up with the Star Nomad. It’s the ship powered by orbbles! Orbbles! I’d LOVE to see it take flight, wouldn’t you? If you let Mr. McCracken end the show his way, and not the executive way, which, truth be told, is the absolute worst, Wander will surely be elated!”
Ferb: “The Orbble Transporter was invented by conjoined twin brothers, voiced by the performers of the theme song.”
Irving (peeking in from the side): “Speaking of voices, the titular main character sounds JUST LIKE ME! How could you possibly resist?! And look, just because I’m the biggest fan of these guys (gesturing to P&F) doesn’t mean I have no interest in what’s planned for the furry orange fella!”
Since I’m a full-time Disneyland cast member, I should be able to make contacts with anyone who might have more clues about what S3 would entail. It might be a long shot, but if I’m able to convince Disney that WOY’s influence on my life boosted my chance at gaining employment at the company, they should understand.
A weekly Jeopardy-type pop quiz on Twitter - here’s the catch: you must refrain from finding information online when you read the answer (I bet you that the most hardcore fans of the most popular shows will get most of the questions wrong).
Example: This arachnomorph got his name from a dog tag he swallowed when he infiltrated a fish-shaped ship. He later became Lord Hater’s beloved pet.
-Who is Captain Tim?
Summaries of S3 episodes I made up myself a while back.
More fan-made characters - my most recent is an elected official of Cluckon, Mayor Spye C. Drumstick.
Conjuring a logo that best fits the status of S3/TV movie - Wander Over Yonder: The New Galaxy (the center would have the silhouette of the Star Nomad with Wander and Sylvia on it).
Brainstorming possible ideas for the three new main characters.
If all else fails, I suggest we make a web comic based on the hints we accumulated back in 2016 and what we learned from the cameo in Future-Worm’s finale. Team Sea3on has been taking that approach for SatAM Sonic the Hedgehog S3, though they are also making an animated version.
That’s about all I’ve got so far. In closing, I have several questions to ask as the new decade kicks off.
Disney executives: Are you even listening to us WOY fans? What more do you want? I’ve done so much for the campaign that I feel I’m entitled to know everything that was planned for WOY’s third and final season, especially now that I’m working full-time for your company. If you tell us what your demands are, we’d be happy to oblige.
@crackmccraigen: Are you aware of how hard the fans and I have been trying to talk Disney into giving you the chance for true closure? We’ll make sure we watch KC when it comes out on Netflix. If we’re lucky, we might see WOY get added to Disney+, where it should get that closure, assuming you’ll have finished KC your way before then.
@suspendersofdisbelief: I know you’re super busy with DuckTales and you love the plans for WOY S3 so much that you can’t bear to reveal it all in one post, but it’s been waaaay too long since we got any hints from you. Are there any other WOY S3-related facts you could describe in much greater detail? The campaign could do with more motivation.
Non-WOY fans: Are you convinced? Need I remind you what’s in the end tag of the “last” episode of WOY? You know there’s much more to life than tales from the land of Ooo, a blue middle school cat boy in a world of unusual individuals, adolescent twins in an Oregon town filled with oddities, a half-gem half-human protagonist, a coming-of-age princess of Mewni, a trio of ursine trend-followers in San Francisco, and all that jazz. If you’re not one bit interested in Hater’s origin story and all that was planned for S3, it’s your loss.
Pessimists: Will you please dispense with this unnerving “Wander is dead” talk? As a certain Popeye would say, “That’s all I can stands, I can’t stands no more!” You’re not trying to let the Disney bosses win, are you? You probably used to think previously canceled shows like Hey Arnold!, Samurai Jack, and Young Justice could never be brought back. The point is, all is not lost.
@peepsqueak and WOY fans/SaveWOY supporters: Have I been of assistance? Almost every remark I’ve ever made shows wit and perception. I mean, just think. Wander is still stuck in that vault where his goal of reforming Lord Hater remains incomplete, and he has no idea of what threat awaits him. He says, “Glorn, help us.” It’ll take something big and extraordinary to convince every Disney fan (and perhaps every Netflix fan) to talk some sense into the higher-ups. Not to mention the replacement/back-up voice actors we’ll have to find if Disney takes even longer (we already lost one - René Auberjonois). We shan’t rest until we get the answers!

Chapter Sixty-Three: Our Fifteen Minutes
[Hey everybody! Sorry for the really long wait within chapters, and the sort of confusing order- this chapter was written and published AFTER the last one was. A lot of stuff happened [spoiler] [basically I Beatrice and Lorne died, and Lucky literally became a ghost, but then get famous came out and I was literally horrified that Beatrice had died before getting to be in a hollywood chapter so I made a fake family, revived her, and got famous. Anyway, sorry for any confusion, onto the chapter!!]
Tumblr media
Dusty: “Gee, Lucky, I sure am worried about Taffy.”
Lucky: “I know! Ever since she got a crush on that Johnny guy, she’s been acting really different.”
Lucky: “I just wish she knew how cool she is when she’s being herself!”
Tumblr media
Taffy: “Hi guys…”
Lucky: “Not too cool to play with us anymore?”
Taffy sighed.
Tumblr media
Taffy: “I’m sorry I acted that way guys. Johnny...didn’t like me as much as I thought he did- I saw him kissing another girl after our beach date!”
They gasped.
Dusty: “Well, he’s stupid anyway.”
Tumblr media
Lucky: “Yeah! And we like you just the way you are, Taffy!”
Taffy: “Aw, you guys are the best! I’m so happy that the Aristocrat family sticks together!”
The sound of canned applause starts as Beatrice walks into the room.
Beatrice: “That’s right, kids, stick together, that way you always have a wingman to make you look good in front of strangers. Oop, Lorne, sweetie, my simsmapol- oh, thank you dear”
She said as a new drink appeared right in her hand.
The kids laugh.
Tumblr media
Beatrice: “Well, you look better, sweetheart. All that black makeup wasn’t doing anything for the bags under your eyes. Chin up!” She said, and sauntered away to the bar in the background.
Tumblr media
Actual Lucky: “Aaaand...Cut!”
*one week earlier*
Tumblr media
Lorne: “Breakfast! I made breakfast for everybody!”
The sound of groans and too many people for one house yawning sleepily down the stairs spreads out to the kitchen, where Lorne smiled and dished out the pancakes he made for everybody.
They all sat around the table, shoving elbows out of the way when they ate their food.
Tumblr media
Lorne: “So, what’s on the agenda for today?”
Beatrice: “You know none of us really...work….right?”
Lucky: “Hey! Courtney and I work, we run our own business!”
Tumblr media
Beatrice: “When was the last time you went to work.”
Lucky: “...”
Beatrice: “I’m not shaming you, sweetheart, I’m just stating a fact. Today, we are all going to lay in our respective beds, reading our respective magazines, and then take intermittent naps.”
Lucky: “And what would you rather do?”
Tumblr media
Beatrice groaned.
Beatrice: “Anything- “ She held up a hand to preemptively silence her husband “But going to work.”
Tumblr media
Courtney: “We could always volunteer as a family.”
Courtney was met with the iciest stare yet.
Courtney: “One day I’ll get you to do it.”
Beatrice: “But you’ve noticed it too, right, ever since this boring mr boring guy moved in, everything has been boring. I mean nothing fun has happened to us since my last awesome party.”
Tumblr media
Lucky: “No. We are not throwing another party. It’s too much. Nobody ever shows up wearing the right thing and we have to stay there for days without sitting because nobody can stand still long enough to take pictures. Out of the question.
Beatrice: “Fun things used to just fall in our laps! The phone would ring and it would just be somebody telling us what awesome thing to do next!”
Tumblr media
Lucky’s phone started to ring.
Beatrice: “Oh thank god I wasn’t sure it would work that time! I wish I had a fancy hat!”
Tumblr media
Beatrice: “Oooh, this is fun, isn’t it?”
Tumblr media
Patty Alexander: “Lucky, how have you been?”
Tumblr media
Lucky: “Aunt Patty? It’s been good, how are you?”
Tumblr media
Patty Alexander: “No time for chit-chat, Lucky. I recently found a VHS tape, I watched it out of curiosity, and it was the pilot that your Glammother made for a reality show. It had been recut by my father, but the show never got any traction at the agency. I work at the agency now, and I think we could come up with a project based on you legendary family, don’t you agree?”
Lucky: “Um...yes?”
Patty Alexander: “Great, come up with ten ideas by tomorrow I will call you at exactly 8 am to talk about it.”
Tumblr media
Lucky: “8 am? Really?”
Tumblr media
Patty Alexander: “Pleasure doing business with you.”
Day 1 of Production
Tumblr media
Chloe: “I can’t wait to be famous, guys!”
Pierce: “I don’t really think this is going to take off, what about you, Vivi?”
Tumblr media
Vivien: “If it doesn’t I’m going to drown in a sea of ennui. This is a chance to really let my creative prowess as an actress shine!”
Tumblr media
Lucky: “Okay, everybody, say hello to the cast. Let’s just stay cool about this, it’s just a little sitcom. I think if we keep it light and fun we’ll all come out of this ahead- yeah?”
Tumblr media
Lucky:Cherish will be playing my mom, Beatrice. My mother is not on set today, value this time, Cherish, it will be the last productive moment for you on this set.”
Tumblr media
Lucky: “Darren, you are my dad, Lorne. All you have to do is smile, agree with anything my mom says, and constantly be churning out drinks from the bar in the background. Do not stop even for a moment, even if the bar is completely covered in undrunk Bridgeports, you keep going.”
Tumblr media
Lucky: “Leslie is playing Glamma Astrid, uh...I dunno. Act ignored. Like you had a lot of potential and then no follow up. You’re Walt from Lost. I don’t have my step-grandpa in here, the casting fell through since I couldn’t find someone with as perfect a head of hair. Courtney- make a note to find a wig guy, and then find me a Roscoe.”
Tumblr media
Lucky: “Tessa is playing my older sister Taffy. She’s smart, lovesick, and a snitch. I want a cross between Rory Gilmore and the sister from Phineas and Ferb.”
Lucky: "My niece will be playing Three, the alien girl that we found in the woods. She’s not here today- we’re gonna film her when I’’m supposed to take her to the library next week, nobody tell her dad.”
Tumblr media
Lucky: “And, of course, these are my three children, Chloe, Pierce, and Vivien. Chloe will be playing me, you’re the main character, you’re brother is missing, shenanigans ensue. You love dogs and antagonising people, you know the drill.”
Tumblr media
Chloe: “Yes!”
Vivien: “But I thought I would play you!”
Tumblr media
Lucky: “Pierce you’re playing my brother Dusty. He’s kinda dorky, and then finds this alien girl in the woods and bonds with her. It’s cute.”
Pierce: “I think I can handle that.”
Tumblr media
Lucky: “And lastly, Vivien, you will be playing my little brother Milo, who is kidnapped in the begining and then we find him later. Any questions?”
Vivien: “Wait- am I even in it?”
Lucky: “Um….yeah. Eventually. You’re gonna do great, cutie. Everybody read through the script and be ready to shoot the first scenes by tomorrow!”
Day 4 of Production
Tumblr media
Luchloe: “Quick! Hide! Mom is coming this way!”
Tumblr media
Fake Beatrice: “Hey cuties, gotta go do a video kiss kiss please subscribe!”
Fake Two: “She didn’t look up from her magic rectangle.”
Dusty Pierce: “Shh!”
Lucky: “Okay, I think she’s gone. Phew. For a second there I was really worried she would catch us and Strider and we’d have to take him back. Good boy!”
Tumblr media
Dusty: “Also the alien girl we found in the woods, Lucky.”
Lucky: “Yeah, but that’s a person, mom is definitely not going to notice some random kid in our house if she doesn’t make a mess. This is a good puppy!”
Tumblr media
Real Lucky: “Cut! Nice job, guys, let’s take 30 for lunch!”
Tumblr media
Vivien: “Mother. I’m going to have to insist that you switch my role with Chloe’s. I have ten times the acting chops she does! Not to mention how much I work drama into every day life!”
Tumblr media
Lucky: “Don’t worry, Vivien, nobody would ever forget about that.”
Chloe: “Hey, Vivi, wanna eat lunch?”
Tumblr media
Vivien: “No! I’m running lines, trying to prove that I’m actually serious about the business to my mother. Chloe, I swear, you getting to play our mom in the sitcom that she’s making about her childhood is the finest example of nepotism I have ever seen in my life.”
Chloe: “Didn’t we all kinda get hired because of nepotism, though?”
Tumblr media
Vivien: “Ugh! I’ll be in my trailer!”
Chloe: “No fair! Why does Vivien get a trailer!”
Tumblr media
Lucky: “Oh, no, honey, she just went to pout inside the puppet theater.”
Tumblr media
Courtney: “Hey, girls. I have the latest shots for you to look at, babe. Great take, Chloe, you’re a rockstar. Where’s your brother? Why are you rolling your eyes.”
Chloe: “Because he’s trying to talk to Tessa again.”
Lucky: “Oh, for god’s sake I told him….I’ll go handle it.”
Tumblr media
Pierce: “So, you know, just because we play brother and sister on this show, doesn’t mean we can’t date in real life.”
Tessa: “Oh my god, I didn’t even see you there. Did you need something?”
Pierce: “Yeah...you’re heart- hey!”
Tumblr media
Lucky: “Sorry, Tess. Won’t happen again! You did great today!”
Lucky: “Pierce, I told you to stop bothering the actresses.”
Pierce: “But we’re in love!”
Lucky: “No, you’re not. Keep dreamin, kid. She’s not into you. Okay, back on set in five, people!”
Tumblr media
Cherish: “Hey, yeah, I feel like my character is just like...a super bad mom? Can we do something about that in the script?”
Lucky: “These are all based on true stories. You’ve met her. She was on set yesterday, is it really that surprising?”
Cherish: “No, I get it, but, like, that magazine just released that story about me being, like, a really bad mom. And I don’t want people to take it the wrong way, y’know?”
Tumblr media
Lucky: “Um, use it in your performance. We have a schedule to stick to everybody! Two minutes!”
Day 6 of Production
Tumblr media
Vivien: “Mom! I need to talk to you!”
Lucky: “Sweetie, I love you, but I don’t have time to talk about your part right now. Right now I need to keep your Glamma away from the actors.
Tumblr media
Beatrice: “Why is she out of costume. Lucky, you’re the director, do something.”
Lucky: “Fine. Excuse me, Cherish? Yeah, my mom wants to know why you’re not wearing the costume.”
Tumblr media
Cherish: “I think my character would wear this. I have a rockin’ bod, if I have to dress conservatively, I’m gonna do the bare minimum.”
Lucky: “You’ve really….taken to your character, haven’t you? Keep the dress, honestly, if I wasn’t constantly lowering her hemlines she’d have put that on already.”
Beatrice: “You’re the one that keeps adding fabric to the bottom of this dress? Lucky! It’s practically down to my knees!”
Tumblr media
Lucky: “Good, you’re too old to be wearing clothes like that mom. Cherish- you look fine, Mom, you also  look fine in exactly what you’re wearing.”
Beatrice: “I could still pull it off! I’ll show you!”
Lucky: “I’m not looking forward to how that turns out. But maybe she’ll do it off set. Hopefully.”
Tumblr media
Lorne: “No, you idiot, you don’t shake it like that, you shake it like this.”
Darren: “Isn’t that what I’m doing?”
Lorne: “No, and, ugh, what are you wearing?”
Tumblr media
Darren: “The costume notes just said to dress up like Willy Wonka’s brother that runs a flavored vodka factory.”
Lorne: “Gosh, y’know, Lucky is just the sweetest daughter, isn’t she? Keep it, it’s fine, but I expect you to keep up the color, alright? Navy blue. It’s a brand.”
Tumblr media
Lucky: “Hey, you kids doing ok? Pierce, great job out there, looking silent and quiet and waiting for your turn to speak. Very Dusty, I love it.”
Vivien: “Mom- why can’t I play you? I’m not even in it and I have to play you’re kidnapped little brother? This stinks! I’m a ferrari, you don’t keep a ferrari in the garage and roll out a barbie jeep and a tricycle.”
Chloe: “We can hear you.”
Vivien: “I’m speaking from the heart of an actress, Chloe, you wouldn’t understand.”
Tumblr media
Chloe: “We’re all child actors, dude, chill out.”
Lucky: “I’m afraid I’m going to have to side with mini me, cutie. Chill out a little, Milo is a great part.”
Vivien: “Milo now would a great part.”
Lucky: “I really hope you have no idea what you’re saying, keep reading through your lines, I’m gonna watch the last runthrough. Love you!”
Tumblr media
Pierce: “You know, if I was your boyfriend, I would never kiss another girl.”
Tumblr media
Kelly: “Excuse me?”
Pierce: “I mean...I….bye….”
Tumblr media
Pierce: “I couldn’t do it. I tried, but she’s too pretty. I was blinded by blonde.”
Chloe: “You know that she’s playing your sister, right?”
Tumblr media
Pierce: “I know. She’s not my sister, though.”
Viviens: “You two are barbarians, I’m going to read lines.”
Tumblr media
Chloe: “Nerd!”
Pierce: “Teacher’s pet!”
Chloe & Pierce: “Nice.”
Day 9 of Production
Tumblr media
Lucky: “This is no good.”
Courtney: “Why not? What’s wrong with it?”
Tumblr media
Lucky: “It’s not saying anything. We’re talking about self esteem here, this is real gritty stuff! We could change lives, Courtney.”
Courtney: “I mean, it’s a sitcom we made starring our own untalented children. I don’t think expectations are going to be that high.”
Tumblr media
Lucky: “Courtney, Courtney, Courtney,”
Courtney: “Yes?”
Tumblr media
Lucky: “Courtney, Courtney, Courtney, Courtney, Courtney,”
Courtney: “Please stop saying my name like that.”
Tumblr media
Lucky: “We’re making art here, baby. Expectations are higher than they’ve ever been.”
Courtney: “Um…”
Tumblr media
Lucky: “Let’s take it from the top, guys, and remember, the words are raw, and gritty. E M O T I O N A L, do you hear me people? She’s changing who she is for a man is that acceptable?!”
A non committal murmur of ‘no’ calls out from the cast.
Tumblr media
Lucky: “Yeah. This is serious. TAKE IT FROM THE TOP!”
---
Tumblr media
Chlucke: It’s okay, Taffy! We like you just the way you are!”
Lucky: “Cut!”
Chloe: “What’s wrong?”
Tumblr media
Lucky: “Baby, you have to think about the stakes here, your sister is heartbroken, she’s lost her whole identity, she’s on the verge of collapse, you need to feel this.”
Tumblr media
Actual Taffy: “I thought it was fine. I mean, it was just a crush. I wore that dress with the storm clouds on it for a couple of days but-”
Lucky: “Taffy,”
Courtney: “Oh no.”
Tumblr media
Lucky: “Taffy, taffy, taffy, taffy.”
Taffy: “Yes?”
Lucky: “I remember this. I saw the pain in your eyes. Johnny was the love of your life, and he threw you away like garbage.”
Tumblr media
Taffy: “He still works at the movie theater so I think it’s fine. I’m married and happy. I have two kids that you didn’t cast in you’re show- thanks for that, by the way. What’s gotten into you, Lucky?”
Tumblr media
Vivien: “I can do it mom! I can deliver the line with vivacity.”
Chloe: “She’s been waiting to use that one.”
Tumblr media
Vivien: “You! Taffy! Don’t lose yourself in the sea of the unwashed masses! You shall rise above them! Walk among the stars as the women you are and will become!”
Pierce: “Yeah...that…”
Tumblr media
Lucky: “That’s pretty good. Lucky, do that.”
Vivien: “But it was my monologue!”
Tumblr media
Lucky: “I know, but it wouldn’t make sense coming from you, you’re still kidnapped.”
Vivien: “No fair!”
Lucky: “Honey, you’re not in this shot.
Day 11 of Production
Tumblr media
Chloe: “Pierce, I do not want to go back in there.”
Pierce: “Me neither. Maybe if we just hide in here she’ll just recast us and let us go home.”
Chloe: “Is she being crazy? It seems like she’s literally gone crazy.”
Tumblr media
Lucky: “Where are the children!? I need them! For my art!”
Chloe: “Oh no. She’s gonna make us do the heart to heart scene again, I know it.”
Tumblr media
Lucky: “Vivien, where’s your brother and sister? You’re on today.”
Vivien: “I am?! Really?”
Vivien: “CHLOE! PIERCE! You’d better get out here now or I will cyberbully you forever!”
Tumblr media
Chloe: “She’s gonna find us eventually.”
Pierce: “Maybe if we stay here, mom will let her play our roles.”
Tumblr media
Vivien: “Found them! Saboteurs!”
---
Tumblr media
Luchloe: “I sure am glad you’re home, Milo! I can’t believe we found you!”
Tumblr media
Milovien: “Happy that I’m home?! Is that all you have to say? Since you’ve abandoned me to the wills of a madman in an underground bunker? I may be shy,”
Tumblr media
Milo: “I may be talented in a quiet way- but that does not mean that I do not have something to say! Hear me, brother and sister! For I don’t know if I can forgive your indifference in my heart, and I know for sure, that I will never forget it. But ho-”
Tumblr media
Lucky: “Cut!”
Vivien: “What’d you think, mom?”
Chloe: “Here we go.”
Tumblr media
Lucky: “It….was…..exhillerating. We’re gonna win an oscar for this, guys.”
Chloe: “I don’t think they give out oscars for single-camera sitcoms, Mom.”
Lucky: “Vivien, you and I will create art. Baby,  we’re going to hollywood!”
Day 15 of Production
Tumblr media
I live for my art
I breathe for my art
Tumblr media
I live for my art.
If I can just get the hug at the end right. I know.
I just know.
I can make a difference.
Day 22 of Production
Tumblr media
Lucky: “From the top!”
Chloe: “Mom, there’s only so many times we can hug. We’ve been doing this for days.”
Tumblr media
Vivien: “She said from the top, Chloe! We have to do this right!”
Chloe: “Why though? I just wanna go hoooome!”
Vivien: “Mother? Permission to slap an actress.”
Lucky: “What? No, Vivien. But you do have to take it from the top! Take two hundred and eighteen!”
Tumblr media
Courtney: “You know, Luck, I think we’ve got it.”
Lucky: “We don’t have it.”
Courtney: “Maybe take a break and do some other scenes? Or let everybody go home? I’m sure that we got it and-”
Tumblr media
Lucky: “Are you questioning my vision, Courtney?”
Courtney: “Um...no?”
Lucky: “Good. Because if you were questioning it, then I would have to fire you.”
Tumblr media
Lucky: “I’d fire all of you if I could! I’ll star in the show myself! Me and Vivien- my only talented daughter, who isn’t afraid to commit to something!”
Vivien: “Yeah!”
Lucky: “So if all of you want to quit! Fine! Quit!’
Tumblr media
Chloe: “Is that an option?”
Lucky: “Only if you think you can live with yourself, Chloe.”
Chloe: “I mean….yeah. I quit. Right guys?”
Tumblr media
Pierce: “Yup.”
Everybody: “Yeah, bye”
Day 27 of Production
Tumblr media
Courtney: “Hey...Lucky?”
Lucky: “What do you want, traitor?”
Courtney: “Well, you’ve been sitting here at an editing table in the middle of an empty warehouse set in the dark for 5 days.”
Tumblr media
Lucky: “The show is due in 2 days, and since everybody abandoned me, I had to to do it myself.”
Courtney: “Nobody abandoned you, Lucky. You just got a little crazy. Plus, we did film all the scenes from the original script. The only ones we didn’t do are those really rambly meta ones you added later. I think if you stick with what we thought of at first, then you’d see that we made something pretty cool.”
Lucky: “I don’t know if I can do it- cut apart my vision…….”
Tumblr media
Courtney: “Do you want my help?”
Lucky: “..........Yes please.”
Premiere Day
Tumblr media
Chloe: “This is so exciting!”
Vivien: “We’re gonna be on tv!”
Tumblr media
Courtney: “Lucky, you gonna join us?”
Lucky: “Oh… I don’t know if that’s such a good idea. I know I ruined everybodys tv experience by getting too in my head about it. I was in an art spiral, there’s no excuse. I’ll just go watch it upstairs by myself so I don’t bother anybody…”
Tumblr media
Chloe: “Mom! Come watch with us!”
Pierce: “Yeah, we’re not mad.”
Tumblr media
Vivien: “You had a celebrity meltdown. Very chic.”
Beatrice: “I’m with Vivien- an epic meltdown is a very Beatrice move. I’m proud of you!”

ScriptX Family Weekly Update
2/22/2017
Hey, y’all. It’s been another week of giving out accurate writing advice and there’s plenty more where that came from, so let’s get to it.
Announcements
The biggest announcement this week is down in the Ask Box Statuses section, so if you want to scroll on down there, go ahead.
Featured Posts
A Whole New World of Money
So here in the good ol’ real world, we only have one universe that we are able to interact with. However, many fictional worlds have multiple universes that interact with each other to some extent. Many times the differences in these universes are huge, for example in Phineas and Ferb: Across the Second Dimension, Dr. Doofenshmirtz was actually competent and took over the Tristate Area resulting in a pink sky for reasons.
Tumblr media
Other times it's much more subtle. @scripteconomist explores some of the ways a simple 5-Dollar bill could be slightly different in another universe.
Starving Author
Writing is usually a back burner career because eating is nice. But if your character is wanting to make writing primary line of income, how might they go about getting the moola before writing the figgedy-giggen thing. @scriptpublishingindustry has a few methods that your character could get a little cash advance.
There's Gold in Them Hills
You’re writing a historical fiction about the 1849 California gold rush. Your character, a mother and wife, is following her husband west towards the golden banks. What might life be like for Mrs. McBasic and her family? @scripthistory has a post written by the dear archivist of @scriptlibrarian .
Clean Up on Aisle 10
As any person working anywhere is still a person, so a service dog is still a dog. Dogs have weird quirks that can make certain areas of training more difficult than others. @scriptservicedogs takes an anon’s ask about a training service dog they saw at their store and reminds us about some of the interesting things that can happen with a service dog in training. (Also there’s a picture of Bucky, mod @anauthorandherservicedog ‘s own service dog)
What's That Called Again?
Your protagonist, Louis MacBasic the III, does not live in modern times. In fact, he does not even live in an approximation of this world, but rather he lives in a medieval fantasy world where many psychological diagnoses don’t exist or have different names. How could you go about showing your readers that the characters in your tale have certain conditions, PTSD for example, without being able to call it by the name we know it as? @scriptshrink has a few suggestions that you might find helpful.
You Have a Helmet for a Reason
Take a minute right now and think through what gear an astronaut would have when going out into space. Seriously, do it. It’ll make it seem like this post takes some actual time to read. You done? Good. So you probably thought, pants, gloves, oxygen tank, chest part, oh and you know, the helmet? The reason they can breathe? Yeah they might need that. So logically, one would wonder what happens when an astronaut takes off their helmet. @scriptastronomer has a great post for you if this is your kind of thing.
Bros Warming Up
Stretching is a seemingly simple activity, but can it be done in groups? Sure, but is it common? Well, @scriptballerina might be able to help you.
Germans So Famous, Schools Are Named After Them (1/10): Die Geschwister Scholl
Hoo boy, this is a doosey of a post. To sum it up, @scriptgerman tells us about the Scholl Siblings and why they were important. It’s a longer read, but it’s worth your time.
Ask Box Statuses
@scriptshrink ‘s inbox is currently closed. She thanks you for your patience
New Family
No new family this week, but there surely will be at some time or another.
And that’s all for this week. See y’all next week. Until then, this is your host signing off.
