hey I'm not a yiga husbands shipper but I wanna just advise you to get out of the yiga husbands tag and use "yiga husband anti" or "kohga x sooga anti" instead cause it's honestly asking for drama if you tag your posts that way /info
it's also just. tumblr etiquette to not post anti things in the non anti tags
I'm not annoyed or mad in any way I just want to inform you /gen
I WANT to get their attention. lol. That's the point. I'm using the tag so that they can see that theyre supporting a proship. I wont argue with geniune proshippers, im tired of that, but some sooga x kohga shippers just straight up don't seem to realize that it is one. Plus Im not too worried abt "drama" bcus. I dont expect that post to get too much attention anyway. meaning it wont be hard to block any blog that still tries disagreeing w me

Okay hot question-Sooga is gay. And he really. Really hates women. But if Kohga demanded it, would he flirt with a woman?
he doesn't HATE women, they just. Make him uncomfy. But he has in fact, flirted with women for stealth or recon missions. And he's really, REALLY good at it. Like, you'd think he's slept with LOADS of women from how hard he makes them swoon. But once its all over, he needs a shower. A long, cold shower.

Revisiting Age of Calamity and I have some Thoughts™
Astor's voice is. something. half the time I'm mesmerized by how got damn smooth it is like sir PLS. the other half I'm like "WHAT??" because he's too quiet and gets drowned out by the music afsdhg
I am still salty that they didn't make Astor playable. he was literally the Warriors OC for this game like Lana and Cia in the first one. he had a whole moveset programmed and was the main villain of the whole story. he could have been this game's Ganon and instead we got Ganon's Dragonball deviantart OC. we had two DLC packs to remedy this and they gave the slot to a bigger and worse Terrako. who asked for these things. and then how did they go on to make excellent roster choices like Sooga and Purah/Robbie. wtf
Speaking of Sooga I wish they would have at least referenced him in TOTK. I know AoC isn't canon (and also he probably died...???) but it still would have been neat if someone mentioned him (doesn't even have to be by name) or talked about the way he dual-wielded or something
Kohga's my new Get Shit Done Man™. I swear I'm not biased (lie) I just gave him attack speed on his weapon and now he's tearing through everything
I've also been depriving this poor man of his beloved bananas because his meter-emptying mechanic is the answer to literally anything. crowds? Big Glowy Blast. taluses? Big Glowy Blast. Ganon? Big Glowy McFUCKIN Blast
Somewhere I have a clip of me completing a sidequest for Hestu and him screaming "YAY, I LEARNED A THING!!" which is singlehandedly the best line that's ever been spoken in the Wild era games. god bless Cristina Vee

Slight Yandere!Master Kohga x Reader SMUT
(Story topic from a prompt done by another creator)
Y/n's POV
The scent of caramelized sugar wafted through the Yiga hideout. Slipping on some baking mits, I grab my confection creation and use my hip to close the over door before setting down my sweet treats onto the counter.
I began to add a few finishing touches to the banana scones I made. As I dust some powdered sugar along the scones I feel someone's warm breath against my neck. With my insanely fast thinking and reflexes. I grabbed the closest thing to me that could be used as a weapon which just so happened to be a fork.
I spin around and bring my arm down to stab whoever it was that snuck up on me, but they were much faster. Suddenly I'm pushed back and pinned against the counter. My face flushes at how close I am to my attacker.
I look up to see a familiar... Mask? My eyes widen. "M-master Kohga!?" I squeak. I quickly noticed the placement of his hands. One on my hips and the other pinning my wrists above my head. "I am so sorry! I didn't know it was you." The words spill from my lips.
I hear him chuckle behind his mask. It was deeper than I expected, almost raspy. It was very attractive. "Good reflexes, your choice of weapon was poor but that can easily be fixed." He stated with that same deep voice. It sent shivers down my spine.
Kohga released my wrists but his hand lingered on my hip causing my flustered heart to beat faster. He pulled away completely and I felt a pang of sadness run through me but quickly brushed it off.
"Since you tried to attack me I see that it's only fair for me to have the first scone." I sigh and nod. "Yeah. Again, I'm sorry Master Kohga. I didn't know it was you." I turn around and pick up one of the scones and hand one to him. "Careful, they are still a little warm." I warn him.
He lifted his mask slightly and I quickly advert my eyes out of respect. Though I would greatly like to see his face. I hear a light groan of happiness from Kohga making my skin tingle. "You don't have to look away. I trust you and Sooga enough to see my face." I was awestruck.
I turn and watch as he locks the kitchen door before taking off his mask and hood. His hair was a deep charcoal black down to his ears. He had a four 'o clock shadow also black. His left eye was brown but his right eye was red. I realized I was staring and quickly looked away.
"Thank you. It's an honor, Master Kohga." He finished his scone and licked the left over sugar from his fingers before turning his gaze to me. He walked over to me and I moved out of the way thinking he wanted another scone. He raised an eyebrow and walked closer to me.
I realize I was against the wall and he gently pushed me back and placed one of his hands on his hip and the other on my mask which was black and red and only covered my mouth and nose. "May I?" He asked. My breath hitched and I nod. He pulled my mask down and left it to hang around my neck before brushing his fingers across my lips.
I parted my lips and he leaned in capturing my lips with his and put his hand on the back of my neck pulling me closer. A small noise escaped me and he chuckled into the kiss. I felt like I was in heaven. Unfortunately we had to pull away for air.
As I was catching my breath Kohga moved to my neck, gently kissing and biting. I let out a moan as he hit my sweet spot and felt him nudge my legs apart, pressing his knee against my core.
"K-kohga~" I moaned. "I've been watching you since you got here, Y/n. I tried to convince myself this feeling was just a crush, but when one of my lackeys began flirting with you... Let's just say he's no longer with us." He chuckled darkly.
My eyes widened. "Tell me, sweetheart. Do you want this as bad as I do?" He questioned, pulling back to see my face. I nod with heavy eyes. "Goddess yes." I breathe. He smirked and pulled me against him. I felt an odd sensation surrounding my body before it settled and I was pushed back.
I braced to hit the wall but I fell further and hit a soft bed instead. Kohga climbed on top of me and pinned my wrists above my head with one hand and used the other to gently knead my breast. Another moan escaped my mouth but it was cut off by his lips.
After a moment he pulled away. "As much as I would love hearing you call me Master, id rather hear you scream my name." He grinned. I blush and nod, unable to formulate words. I decide to get a little cocky and use my training to flip Kohga over.
I let my fingers find his belt and unbuckle it before carefully pulling down his pants. Kohga sat up and watched as I gently palmed him through his boxers. I could see the tent forming and giggled softly. "Hey, what are you laughing at?" He asked. "Nothing! I'm just excited." I quickly respond.
I pull his boxers down and his Cock sprung out. He wasn't too big but he wasn't by any means small either. It was perfect. Perfect length, perfect size. I look up for permission and he nods. I gently lick the tip that's glazed with precum and he lets out a low moan. I feel myself getting wetter at the sound.
Taking his tip into my mouth I gently suck and begin taking in more. Kohga's hand makes its way into my hair. "Fuck, sweetheart. Just like that." I gain more confidence in his praise and take him completely into my mouth until his tip reaches the back of my throat and my nose touches his pubic bone.
I let him guide me by my hair and bob up and down to his own pace. I feel his body stiffen when he pulls me off of him. A string of saliva connecting my lips to his tip. "Damn, sweetheart. As much as I want you to keep going I've been dreaming of being inside you." With that he easily flips us and starts working on my pants. I help him with my belt and he slides them off.
I feel his wet tip against my soaking core beneath the tiny fabric that is my panties and moan. Kohga kneeled down and hooked his fingers into my panties, pulling them down. I gasp as the chilly night air hits my core.
"Fuck, Y/n. You're soaked..." Before I could respond I felt his tongue slide through my folds and cried out in pleasure. "K-kohga! Fuck that feels so good." He chuckled, the vibrations driving me crazy. Suddenly I feel one of his fingers gently slide inside and gasp at the foreign feeling. "O~ooh."
"Damn, you're tight. Is this your first time sweetheart?" He asked, keeping his finger still for a moment. "Yes, but I trust you and I want you to be my first." I admit. He gently began thrusting his finger in and out causing me to let out little gasps and moans.
"You're doing so well for me, sweetheart, think you can take another finger?" He questioned and I whined needily. He chuckled and slid in another finger, carefully thrusting in and out. Out of nowhere I feel his tongue against my clit and I almost scream from the blinding white pleasure it causes.
I buck my hips against his tongue and fingers desperately and just as I was about to release, he pulled away completely. I let out a needy whine causing him to laugh lightly.
"Calm down, I'm just getting started." Kohga moved up and pressed his lips against mine as he carefully lined himself up. "Are you ready?" He asked. I nod quickly and let out a short breathy scream as he entered me. "Oh, fuck sweetheart. You're perfect." I blush and focus on the pleasure that is overriding the slight pain.
"Let me know when you are ready." He whispered in my ear gently kissing my neck. I let out a few deep breaths until the pain subsided. "Okay." Kohga pulls out before thrusting back in and setting a pleasurable pace. "Ah~ F-fuck, Kohga! It feels so good." I cry out and press my blushing face into his neck.
"Fuck, sweetheart. Everything about you is perfect. From your cooking to your body to your personality. It's all mine. You are mine, got it?" He growled as he quickened his pace causing me to moan and smile at his words. I feel my stomach begin to tighten again as stars danced before my eyes.
"K-kohga! I'm so close." I moan out. "Me too, tell me you belong to me and we'll cum together, sweetheart." He said breathlessly, gently moving my thighs over his shoulder moving deeper inside. "H-aaahh, I-im yours Kohga. Ah!" He smashed his lips against mine hungrily and I came undone.
"Kohga!" I cried out. "Y/n." He groaned releasing inside of me. He slowed down and gently rode our orgasms out. Once I came down from my high, Kohga carefully pulled out. I notice the blood on him and his bed and quickly apologize.
"Shit! I'm sorry Kohga." He looked down and chuckled. "It's fine, sweetheart. It can be washed." I nuzzled into his neck as exhaustion began to over take my mind. Kohga gently kissed my forehead. "Go to sleep, Sweetheart. I've got you." I smiled and closed my eyes, sleep quickly overtaking my tired body.
Thank you so much for reading. I hope you enjoyed it.

QPR zelink kids timey wimey fuckery
Pretty please??
I have no snippets but I have a lot to ramble about!
The whole story idea started because I imagined some Zelink kids referring to Dorephan as "Grandfather" and looking at Rhoam and Roland like "Who's this loser?"
Of course, in order for these kids to snub Rhoam and Roland, there needs to be time travel shenanigans.
So our lovely troublemakers are: Princess Nelle Hyrule-Hallow (16, she/they). Has inherited the sacred sealing/light powers. Has had prophetic dreams in the past, but not as often as her brother has. Talented archer, she prefers long-ranged attacks. Loud, sarcastic, kind of obnoxious. Very blunt, especially when she doesn't like someone. Hair is golden and messy like Link's, but she has Zelda's eyes and height. Really good on the piano. Prince Ezra Hyrule-Hallow (10, he/him) "Autism be damned, my boy can time travel." Has the Recall ability and prophetic dreams. Even quieter than Link. Hates eye contact and people in his personal space. Has just enough Sheikah traits to raise questions with Impa, Purah and Robbie. Reddish-brown eyes, very pale blonde hair, also pretty tall for his age (sorry Link, you're forever the short one). Loves to collect insects.
Ezra, newly come into his Recall ability, accidentally sends himself and Nelle back in time after getting his hands on a secret stone. Does this take place in the Luminous universe? Hm...Not sure. But these kids essentially make their own Age of Calamity story by helping to avert the Calamity via time travel and stubbornness, while also forcing Rhoam and Roland to confront the fact that they are Certifiably Awful.
Link and Zelda are, of course, not in a romantic relationship and it low-key drives Rhoam absolutely insane to know that they're not. If future Link and Zelda were asked, they'd still describe each other as "best friends" and "family."
Rhoam: "So...Zelda and Link are not married?" Nelle: "No?? Don't be weird, they're best friends" Rhoam: "But then how are you...?" Nelle: "Mama wanted a baby. Papa wanted a baby. They saw that they achieved perfection on the first try and decided to have a second. Obviously Ezra isn't as cool as me." Ezra: "I'm cool!" Nelle: "Sure, buddy"
Ezra refers to Mipha as "Second Mama" and accidentally triggers all of Mipha's maternal instincts. She nearly bites Sooga's hand clean off when he tries to attack the kids. Yes, she's still reeling and pretty uncomfortable, but these kids are also hers now too and if no one wants to face Mipha's wrath, they'd better leave those kids alone
Meanwhile, poor Zelda is so confused because she and Link only became official friends a few months ago. This whole thing really kickstarts her "What am I???" journey. She didn't realise that not being interested in romance and building her own little family was even an option. Mortifying as it is to know another version of her slept with her best friend (who's currently dating Mipha no less!), it really gets her thinking. This future version of her sounds so happy, confident and free. It sounds amazing, if a little scary. She can't wrap her head around it
Link's kinda wishing the Yiga killed him after all, because as fun as the chaos is, everyone is looking at him and asking uncomfortable questions and he'd like that to stop right now, before he starts screaming, please and thanks. Aryll asks him if this means he's got two girlfriends now and he just about dies on the spot
Irma 🤝 Urbosa: instantly willing to die for these time travelling chaos gremlins

I had a slightly unhinged thought last night about how Astor could have gotten malice top surgery scars so here i am.
But what my poor little sleepy brain imagined was Astor telling the evil egg how he wants to get top surgery and the evil egg, being possessed by Gan was like “aight. Stay still” and pulls out one of those little swords build into it. Everything goes black and next thing he knows he wakes up with the surgery done, but the scars are malice scars.
Idk where this ideea came from but it did
Dragon. My dude. That’s literally the best unhinged thought ever.
Ans it even seems logical like… We stan trans-friendly Harbinger of Destruction.
I can imagine Astor having a conversation afterwards with Kohga and Sooga, on how he got scars to this specific place, and the lads being hella supportive because they obviously are.

The other fun thing about Ganondorf starting the Yiga Clan is the possibility of pairing up Kohga with someone who’s not merely his opposite, like Sooga was, but with someone who’s his opposite in the most absolutely unhinged way possible.
Instead of ending up with a Sooga who was merely a compulsive overachiever, Kohga instead ends up with a compulsive overachiever who’s also a hypercompetitive polymath control freak who’s very likely to gnaw his own arm off just to feel something again if deprived of enrichment and regular intellectually stimulating challenges. Instead of just keeping the Clan afloat, Ganondorf grabs poor Kohga by the waist with a squeaky toy noise and immediately rockets in the direction of Attacking and Dethroning the Goddess.
Basically:
Sooga: "My greatest ambition is making Dad Master Kohga proud of me and keeping the family together.”
Ganondorf:
Tumblr media
Poor Kohga is absolutely the dude in the sexy manservant outfit holding the fan when Ganondorf declares himself Emperor Of The Whole World.

I am having way too much fun building my AU of Legend of Zelda lore, specifically with the Villains.
Like…Ghirahim? He’s got a slightly terrifying platonic husband who happens to be a fallen angel and a holy blacksmith. Said husband has forged Ghirahim into a sturdier shape after Ghirahim broke.
Zant? He’s got a boyfriend bodyguard that unintentionally became the Team Boyfriend for all the villains, and said bodyguard is the most competent one there. He still doesn’t know how his bodyguard became “Our Boyfriend” instead of “Zant’s Boyfriend”.
Yuga? He shows up at inconvenient times and has a pet bird that happens to like playing in paint. The bird is definitely capable of speaking coherently due to Yuga talking to it so much. And nobody knows where Yuga is or when he’ll pop in next. It’s great!
Vaati? This boy has a tendency to be intimidated by most dogs. It comes from being Minish in his case, the poor thing. And everyone EXCEPT FOR GANONDORF babies him. And he’s been color coded so aggressively into purple in the group that it’s pretty much the only color he owns from gifts.
Astor? He’s been thrown out the window. Countless times. By so many different people. In so many different ways. He’s also been demoted really hard also because Ganondorf Did Not Vibe with him attempting to sacrifice people who served him without his Express Consent and the Express Consent of those who he attempted to sacrifice.
Kohga? Man’s happily the Mom™️ of the Yiga Clan. He’s a firm believer in eating and sleeping and talking to make things feel better after trauma. He bakes really well (something something don’t trust a skinny baker) and happens to like training newbies with a lot of potential. He just also values boundaries.
Sooga? He’s a dad now. He’s got two daughters, one of which is happily in the Yiga Clan and the other of which died but sticks around like a stubborn bleach stain. I simply have him as a girl mom dad but the type who would show up to a soccer game for his kids and quietly glare daggers at the (other) soccer moms there.
Ganondorf? THE MAN IS TRANS. I LOOKED AT HIM AND DECIDED HE NEEDED TO BE TRANS. VISCERALLY GRABBED HIM IN MY MOUTH AND SHOOK HIM AROUND LIKE A SQUEAKY TOY. So. Trans Ganondorf designs to follow soon. (And also, he’s a big softy who looks terrifying, he’s adopted a Link and a Zelda in the past.)

I promised fic last night so! This is a crucial scene in my multi-link au 'hyrules curse', specifically this is a scene between Cia and Sooga where she manages to convince him to betray Kohga. I hope it's fun to read even if you don't know the characters :]
-
The room is quiet, much to Sooga’s unease, empty of any and all air with the exception of his own breaths pushing up against the mask that may as well be his second skin. The mask is a comfort now as he stands alone in the solitary room, the thin porcelain barely hiding Cia’s gaze from his frame as she leans back with a thoughtful hum. It’s a practiced, almost delicate sounding noise, but it only sounds overly sweet to his ears, honeyed and coe with poison underneath.
Sooga remembers the warnings of those wiser, smarter than even him, to always watch for those who are calm even in a room full of blades as those are always the ones who will convince you to turn your blade onto yourself. The kind of weapon that few possess but are deadly enough that it claws into the very roots, digs its poison into your flesh and never lets go. It’s a thought that comes to his mind now as he meets her stare, unflinching even as she blinks in admiration.
“I’m impressed of your work. Your skills during that invasion of yours are perhaps one of the only things that only for your master to escape with his life.” Sooga’s dual blades are still dull with crimson on his hips, the pristine metal dripping with the dried blood of hylians and gerudo alike. It makes the slightest of puddles by his feet, the droplets of red near black in the low light underneath the flickering of the fire’s flame.
“Spare me your words, you were there to have me killed.”
“Wrong, I was there to have your master killed. But… plans change, and I like to believe that my ability to adapt is one of my stronger qualities.” Sooga’s eyes narrow as Cia absently spins towards the map sprawled across the table, red markings sullying the countless mountains and rivers as her eyes become critical.
“Your clan and master have retreated to the depths, and day by day you’re losing the little foothold that you still have on the surface. Bases discovered, trainees exposed and killed, and entire settlements being rooted out and scorched.” The words are smooth, amused even, but Sooga sees the sadistic twist of her lips as she glances up, her gaze pining him to the wall with a curious glimmer.
“It’s all rather pathetic, isn’t it? A reign of a hundred years and it’s all at the hands of a worthless leader, such a waste of potential, don’t you think?”
“I think that you are straying past your bounds.”
“Hm, the truth is sometimes bitter. But I’m sure you already know, you’ve seen it for yourself! Kohga leads and recruits fools towards an end that none of them have even the slightest chance of accomplishing.” Sooga’s palms burn with the need to fight, to feel the heavy weight of blood and metal against his palms, but the glow of purple magic twisting themselves easily through Cia’s fingers is enough of a message. The magic gleams with a darkness that sucks the light around it, twisting itself until it snatches the faint glimmers of light that stray to close.
It’s an intimidating sight and Cia hardly seems to spare any amount of attention to the motion, if Sooga dared to think- it seemed that the motion entertained her, the swirling of purple with black leaving an indulgent twist to her lips.
“Master Kohga is the one who founded the yiga clan and he’s the one who has led it all these years. His decision to lead us into the depths and continue our research and training there is not an unwise one.”
“All he’s doing is forcing the entire clan, and you, to fall into obscurity together. Nothing but darkness and death down there, hardly a thing to conquer! No, I believe the reason is that he’s done so poor a job of fighting against hyrule- that he can only surrender to the shame where no one can see.”
“...”
“You already know all of this, you’ve been by his side, you were only minutes before. But now you stand here beside me and the truth you refuse to face.” A bitter taste bubbles up from Sooga’s throat, burning and acidic, the very same as the glare that pierces Cia to the comfortable chair that she leans further back in. Hardly a note of discomfort crosses her features, instead only leaning back with a softer hum as the magic curling around her slowly disappears.
Sooga knows then with a frightening start that perhaps Cia is even more dangerous than the warnings of words sharpened and hidden under silk told to him under the cover of night. There’s a sort of weariness that comes with knowing that a pair of fangs smile back at you with every word, that they don’t care if you see as you’re close enough to spot your reflection in their eyes.
“...Even if you speak the truth, witch, I don’t see how the fate of the yiga clan concerns you in the slightest.” The words sink into Sooga’s skin, the truth being pulled from between his lips like rotted teeth and the pleased crinkle in Cia’s eyes at the admittance only makes the words burn more.
“Well, it’s moreso the waste of potential that saddens me. This is my half-hearted attempt to salvage whatever sort of hope that this clan could’ve been.”
“Which started with the attempted murder of master Kohga.”
“Please, if I truly wanted him dead then he would be.”
“Then why didn’t you?”
The purple magic flares to life once again as Cia gives the swirling smoke a contemplative look, the momentary relief of her eyes off of him bringing a second of respite. That weight returns the very next moment with a scrutiny that has Sooga straightening his back even further than before, hardly a thought given to the action.
“One thing I’ve learned from leading a war is that an army needs direction, purpose, a figure to keep in their mind’s eye when they’re blinded by the blood on the battlefield. That figure must be what the war demands, but above all else- they must want, so incredibly badly that they bend the very nature of men around them.” A quiet confidence spills from inbetween every word and Sooga finds that in that moment, he believes her, and the underlying truth that she held the reigns of war.
Perhaps she still did, he wouldn't be surprised if that were the case.
“...You believe that master Kohga lacks this want.”
“I believe that he lacks many things but yes, you understand.”
Only hours ago, Sooga would’ve striked down whoever had spoken such words into the earth itself with hardly a blink of hesitation and buried his own doubts alongside it. The insistent need to ignore, to deny, still burns brightly on his tongue and he knows that he’s been silent for a bit too long, been still for much longer. Cia’s stare pierces him further onto the wall and she hardly blinks and breathes around the confession tightening itself around his chest.
Betrayal of the highest order was whittling its way into his skin, but was it only making itself known now? Being coaxed so easily from her words that he could feel them melting away at his nerves. Treachery burned at his blood-soaked palms, and the near-black crimson in the low light melded into the darkness until only the purplish sheen of Cia’s eyes smiled back.
“Truth is one thing, but action is another, even if master Kohga were to die- that loyalty has been bred for hundred years now and would live on even past his death. Such a monumental loss would destroy the yiga clan, poor leader or not.”
“Not if someone of near equal standing and prestige took his place, use all of that grief to lead the clan into something greater than it had ever once hoped to be.”
Sooga’s breath steals itself from his chest as he openly gapes at the words, such a stunned silence that he can hardly muster up the feeling of embarrassment as Cia laughs at his expense.
“I- I wouldn’t dare-”
“Someone must take up that mantle, and who else but you? Truthfully, I’m sure you’re holding together the last few pieces of the yiga’s reputation in the first place.” The words are sharp, cruel even, the words twisting themselves distastefully along the long line of Cia’s disgusted frown. It’s the stark reminder that he not only stands before a leader, but a conqueror, one who has happily dealt with the passing tides of death and time.
“...And I’m just supposed to believe that I would inherit that same loyalty that Kohga has cultivated over years?”
“You would if you make yourself a heroine in their eyes, the noble, dedicated second-in-command who takes up their last masters passing in stride and commands the clan forward. Such a touching display of loyalty even in death demands some sort of reverence.”
“A display bathed in complete and utter lies.”
“One that they’ll believe, and if they’ve truly dedicated themselves to this cause- then they have nowhere else to go. Once you’ve taken your proper role as master then you can begin to shape the clan into what it was always meant to be.” Destiny peers down on Sooga, its heavy gaze near overwhelming but he pushes it down less he be engulfed in madness- instead he ponders, soaks in the very idea being laid before him.
Such an idea is the highest level of betrayal, such an act that hasn’t been witnessed by the yiga clan in all of its existence and held in the hands of the one closest to stringing its creator by the throat. Would it be easy? Would Kohga’s neck simply snap with the faintest pop? Would there be any fight at all?
Of course, Sooga knows the answer to every single one of those questions and it’s that realization that hardens the resolve rapidly making its home underneath his skin.
“Such an act would require… careful planning and the perfect moment, it would require an audience. The entire clan would have to witness the death of its master.”
“I would be more than happy to lead you in the right direction, but I’m also curious to see how you would choose to bring the yiga clan into a new age. See it as a final test of sorts.”
“...A test?” The very prospect of a challenge alights in Sooga’s blood, enough that the sharpened edge of her smile that follows his question only commands more of his attention. It’s a terrifying thought, staging the death of his master for all of hyrule to see, and above all else- to an audience which worships the very earth Kohga walks upon. What would become of such devotion when mercilessly dashed away by death? Would it simply fester and disappear into nothing, such as the miserable state of the clan they’ve devoted themselves to?
Or would such a death fan the flames of the yiga clan until such a small flame enveloped the lands of hyrule and brought it to its knees?
Such sacrifices must be expected if they’re to follow their lord’s example, and their leader's blood would make for a thrilling start to a new age.
“Yes, you see Sooga, I am looking for commanders myself. Those who are willing to wretch the strings of fate from the goddesses themselves and to take such power into their own hands. If you do prove yourself… Well, we can save such talk until then.” Distant images of Astor’s body, gnarled and twisted to a sickening degree in a pool of his own viscera flash unbidden into Sooga’s mind. The flames in Sooga’s blood pauses then, drinking in the image before speaking.
“Did Astor not meet your expectations then?” Sooga hardly felt an ounce of pity for the man, even with such an undignified death, as it was the fate of men who attempted to control powers much greater than their own. The incensed eye-roll that crosses over Cia’s face at the name is hardly a surprise, but Sooga spares the smallest of grins at the reaction.
“Why I ever decided to entertain him- I’ll never know, but it doesn’t matter now. I have some errands that I must attend to and I’ve already been here for longer than I would’ve liked, but I believe that it was worth it.”
Cia’s smile turns into something satisfied, honeyed and so incredibly sweet that it curls around the air until it’s just as corrupt as the magic still weaving itself around her fingers. The expectation whistles softly in Sooga’s ears, as teasing and sweet as its beholder but Sooga can feel the threat underneath the silkened steel.
Astor was an example.
Sooga refused to become something so incredibly pitiful that was only worth the dirt at the bottom of his heels.
“And if I pass your test?”
“Then I will return here and give you all that you’ve earned and more. I will give you three days to earn my continued attention and only until then, I value those who know the meaning of being clean and efficient.”
The invisible clock leans heavily onto Sooga’s shoulders, but he refuses to bend, to slouch, to give in to that sharpened blade of fear that dances lightly at the skin of his throat. The promised threat rings loudly in the open air and clings to the dried stench of blood still coating his hands, promising with it to either be covered once again by his own blood or his master’s.
The choice is more than clear, now more than ever.

HOLY SHIT FUCK THE SHOW FORMAT IGE BEEN USING LETS JUMP RIGHT IN
I FUCKING KNEW IT
I FUCKING HAD A SNEAKING SUSPICION THAT HE WAS GONNA ACTIVATE THE FIRE ROD
WOOOOO YEAH BABY THATS WHAT IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THATS WHAT ITS ALL ABOUT WOOOHOOO
Also who is the Yiga who kept showing up randomly every time they knocked someone out because they have become my favorite character and I’ve only seen them two times.
Also nooooo poor Rezek he is having ptsd after seeing the Yoga traininggg
Also we get SOOGAS MASK BABBYYYYY LES GOOOOO
SOOGA SWEEP
As you can tell I loved this chapter and hope the next one is just as good!
YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
I've been hinting/teasing at it since the kiss scene so this has been quite a long payoff hlkjasdf
IT WAS SO SATISFYING TO WRITE THO
And the Yiga guardsman is just a random guy I made for this chapter lmaooo I thought it'd be interesting to show how cutthroat the Yiga are and how they'd gladly ignore all red flags if it meant they could advance ahead in their own rank
I also wrote that scene with the Yiga training last-minute because I went "wait a second this would go so hard as a parallel for its own experiences" like it now has this mental turmoil with the Yiga and now is like "Should I really write some of them off as unable to be saved, when I would never be here today if someone thought I wasn't worth saving?" LIKE THE TENSIONNNN
And yeah I HAD to do a Sooga tease. Arguably the best addition to Age of Calamity. I wonder why only his mask is there ;)
Also just as a heads up for the future Rezek goes by it/its! Its gender is "a problem" 💙
Although its whole arc especially with Frifer is just soaked in queerness so it's fun to call them "gender neutral doomed yuri/yaoi"

Okay listen I'm gonna gush about age of calamity but seeing as I myself am only like,,, halfway I'm gonna tag spoilers so (lengthy) happy rant under the cut:
ASDFGHJKL??!! Oh my GOSH it's so GOOD!! It's so solid! Listen I was already squealing when I saw impa appear but I figured since she was a beginner character she'd have straightforward movesets and I'd be encouraged to move on, yada yada, but no!! She absolutely slams! She's so fast and agile, it's amazing!!! She's my third fave so far, Link remains my first of course, and darling mipha is second! Dude, I was SO happy to play as her! And baby sidon is adorable. She's so quick as well!
It didn't take long for me to figure out that my style is fast before strong, because I was so hyped to play urbosa and then her zl is stationary charging ToT, completely killed the momentum. I level her up of course, but I don't really play her anymore.
I had high hopes for maz koshia too! I definitely wish I played him more, but I think I'd need to spend a lot more time in the meditation shrine before I felt comfortable taking him on main missions. He's got the coolest sprint too lmao. Örb™
Sidon is SO fun to play as well, I didn't expect to have as much fun with him! His zl is so great to spam, it's an easy rhythm and deals loads of damage. (he's so big next to his sister ToT I love them both so much). Did Not expect the shark aesthetic but its cool XD.
The cutscenes where the future champions appear was INCREDIBLE!!!! I was like :O!!!! @0@!!! Squirming in my seat heavy rock playing on my phone it was the best! They get to MEET THEM AND HELP AND THEY SAVED THEM AND *CRIES*
Really, just in general, the story in this game is AMAZING!! The cutscenes are so well done, and it's great to see link in the outfits I pick out for him XD. I like being dignified, but I have put him in a moblin mask and nothing else to storm the castle with.
The world building is so good, the characterisations are solid, and it's so awesome to see 100 years ago when everything was still intact!
Ah, the castle mission. I tried to clear all the guardians out the first time, I really over level so it wasn't impossible, but then rhoam died :/. I don't really think much of him but that hit hard, watching poor zelda. I'm really glad they didn't give him a useless or cowards death, they could easily have done that given some opinions of him, but it felt so much more true to him. I tried a few more times to kill all the guardians but I just can't reach them :(. I want to save him at least once!!
Akkala was AMAZING!!! Both the quests I've done are SO FUN! Sooga was a great bad guy (I'm worried for him, WHERE IS HE) he felt like the closest to an equal warrior to link. Didn't stop me from trapping him in a corner and cheesing him for all he's worth, but that's the fun of it.
Speaking of fun fights, I was surprised by Teba! His aggressive speed and combos made him a good match for my style, he's easy to main! Needs levelling up if he wants to join my party proper, but so do the majority lol.
Ngl the fairy fountains I DID NOT LIKE. They're so funny and creative, but ehhhh I don't like the idea of them fighting at all, it really messed with me, alas.
I haven't gushed about the cutscenes enough, they're absolutely AMAZING. They're so well animated! It's incredible!! I love love love how they got all the voice actors back, and everyone gets to be a huge found family ToT. Even revali gets a goof or two (though mostly at his own prides expense lol). Little Egg is just cute enough to be comedic relief without being in the way or depleting the angst (the angst is SO GOOD, OH MY GOODNESS). I don't know if link gets microexpressions or I'm just projecting but his animators did him so fine. He looks BADASS. He's THE COOLEST MF AROUND AND THEY ALL KNOW IT. Putting him in a hood obscures him over the shoulder shots occasionally but it's worth it lmao.
I dont know WHO they have doing the lighting of those cutscenes but PAY THEM MORE. It sets off like EVERY scene, especially the ones on the divine beasts, and at night, just LOOK AT THEM.
The most recent mission I've done, Fort Hateno, AMAZING. INCREDIBLE. SO SO GOOD. Zelda!! Darling!! The interactions between riju and urbosa (she's so tall she has to bend like IN HALF to get to her level I'm crying) were so sweet and so neatly showed their dynamic, and really emphasises how riju is a good and capable leader but also still a child. We don't get nearly enough of that. Also her special is super fast and I love it.
ZELDA SHINING PRINCESS OF LIGHT YOU'RE DOING SO WELL HONEY, YOU'RE DOING GREAT TOT. The shiny light was so fun to play with :D. Underleveled, but I feel like I could finally let her safely on a battlefield by herself. I mean I could before, I mained her a bit, but now she's got eldritch weirdness under her belt, she's not gonna die like an npc escorts if she accidentally winds up in the middle of the field. I'm REALLY going to have to put her through her paces in the meditation room though, I have NO idea what she does now lol. What do the gold rings do??? Why is her zl that?
LINK I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY ABOUT YOU BUT YOU'RE LOOKING FINE AND OP KEEP IT UP KING. His zl is sooooooo handy, I can whip it out whenever and knock the enemy flat from across the field, definitely think the rito should have that move wholesale but ig not lol. My build for him focuses on the full health sword beams, so I have to be careful with him. But he's so easy to mow down a battalion with, he's soooo overleveled.
Haven't had a chance to play with kohga but he's sure to be fun lol. I'd accidentally been spoiled on the yiga defection, but I didn't see anyone else with him... Respect for sooga, loved his character since I saw him, hope he's okay.... We'll definitely either see him make a dramatic escape or a corrupted boss, but we should end up with him in the roster so it shouldn't be too bad? Right????
Wonder what the purple colour is on wind blight? There isn't a wind element, but it's not malice either. Maybe it'll get explained.
But UGH IT'S SUCH AN INSANELY AWESOME GAME!!! I've already clocked 50 hours easy, and I'm only on chapter six! It's just POW and WHAM and KABLOOIE! Each chapter makes me go OH MY GOSH SUPERB YOU FUNKY LITTLE CHARACTER and clutch my heart like a fainting Victorian maiden seeing a modern shirtless male model XD. Each time there's an amazing plot twist and I'm. Like
W H A T.!???!!!
I actually have the og hyrule warriors, so it's really good to see how far they've come since! More input from Nintendo has done WONDERS with their characters and setting lol. But the moves are creative, the maps are easier to work with, the camera angles aren't nearly so bad! I keep being surprised by the unexpectedly good graphics on such an old ds game, but that's neither here nor there. The fusing system is a million times easier in aoc, too, but it still took me a while to get the hang of it.
IF YOU HAVEN'T ALREADY BUT SOMEHOW READ ALL THIS, TLDR GET THE GAME

i dont think i ever posted these here so uh, someone on twitter wondered if theres a yiga clan member having a mask with two horns since kohga and suppa (sooga) have 3 and 1 on each side; and of course i came up with lore for them-
if you remember my yiga lore master kohga was actually a monk from 10 000 years ago that experimented with malice on himself, making him near immortal; now this one (their name is master ramuda) was also from that time frame but a scientist, and went on to be the second founder of the yiga clan alongside kohga after the royal family turned on the sheikah. ramuda was doing research on malice while koh handled everything dangerous
they were both no strangers to doing risky experiments and ramuda was the first one to bind malice into tattoos to harness its power while safely containing it and thus not corrupting the host; however, as it goes with risky experiments, they can turn out to be a failure even after seemingly working out; the malice wasnt bound with enough seals and started to break out of the tattoos but ramuda kept it secret
believing themself capable of going out on their own, now that they have harnessed some of the malices power, to try and find a solution, which included trying to secure lost sheikah documents that may be still in hyrule castle, but while they sneaked around they found the perfect opportunity to act revenge on the royal family
and thus ramuda assassinated the king. successfully, for the most part, as they were caught by the ancient princess who immediately shot them with a sacred arrow right through the head
but they didnt go down.
ramuda is not quite alive, as all they do is stand perfectly still in one place while malice is eating the body away (see the first image) but not quite dead either
(after .. all that happened, kohga continued ramudas research, and later combined technology and techniques from his knowledge as a former monk to 'perfect' the seals that bind the malice within the tattoos and did the experiment on himself as well in order to live longer and perhaps, one day, find a way to bring them back)
and yes thats a summary of what i came up with for a poor twitter user asking the simple question of "kohgas mask has 3 horns on each side, soogas has 1, i wonder if theres one with 2" back in february

Verry random headcanons/ shit from my au
And i mean verry random cuz i don’t wanna go into detail just Yet.
Most of them are about Astor, Kohga and Sooga.
Also i do wanna explain the ones about Zelda’s mom in a series of drawings, since thats a part of my au i really like, so thats gonna take a while.
Zelda’s mom only married Rhoam for the crown. She was seeing Urbosa behind the scenes. Urbosa and Zelda are the only people she cared about.
Zelda’s mom wasn’t actually the kind woman she pretended to be and shes the reason some staff “mysteriously disappeared” (this one is for another time babes)
Sooga is good at origami. Kohga picks different hobbies over the years but one he really likes is clay sculpting.
Kohga’s mother treated the clan horribly and thats part of the reason Kohga lets the clan have more freedom (another thing to go over later)
Zelda and Mipha did hear Link talk, but so did Daruk. Link would see Daruk like a grandpa and would hang out with him often, later on even vent to him
The harbinger is still a Terrako, so it would play a song when fights between Astor and Kohga got heated. Often times the song would become glitchy from Ganon wanting to take control back.
After her mom’s death, little kid Zelda would bother Astor. He didn’t like it at all. Despite that, he would sometimes let her stay in his room if she wanted a break from studying (something Rhoam didn’t give too often) IF she did not touch his stuff
A poor yiga found Astor’s journal, wich did show his descend into madness. That poor yiga also got caught reading it..
Sooga’s cooking is pretty good, but he Ofc isn’t one of the yiga chefs so if he does cook its mostly for him and/or Kohga. Kohga’s cooking is decent but he likes to cook with Sooga.
Don’t let Astor in the kitchen he can’t cook to save a life, he lives on coffee and an apple
Astor was born on a blood moon. He is also half zonai. Two things his parents found out from his birthmarks (yet another thing to explain ). He is adopted

Mortality
Zelink Week 2021 prompt #7/7 @zelinkweek2021
Word Count: 3,684
Incarnation: Breath of the Wild 2 (pre)
Additional Prompts Followed: Forsaken Fates, Lost Eternities
Inspired by this art by @morniae
A big thank you to @braidy-maidy and @linktheacehero for beta-ing!!
He wasn’t expecting a fairytale reunion as his horse trotted slowly, arriving at the Forgotten Temple with next to no fanfare. All sorts of geniuses from every race of Hyrule had gathered to study this place, to pull it from its lost state and unearth its secrets, to discover the reason behind its eternity and maybe even why its fate was to be forsaken and forgotten to all of history.
Link left his horse with the many others that were being cared for on the left side of the canyon and began to navigate the ruckus on foot. It seemed crowds of scientists and historians alike were out here securing their tents, making food, and languishing in a well-deserved rest. Link felt as if he stuck out like a sore thumb with his small brain, but no one paid him any mind, not even her.
In fact, she was nowhere to be found.
Perhaps he was expecting some fairytale reunion as he peered his head around every Sheikah, Goron, Rito, Zora, and Hylian in sight. He didn’t care that there was no fanfare, in fact, that may have made it even harder to spot her if it were a big deal that the hero of Hyrule had arrived. Thank Hylia these ruins were more interesting, that no crowd had congealed into a true tidal wave of obstacles. He missed her dearly, after all, no matter how short a time two weeks was in comparison to a hundred years.
He made his way all the way to the shrine in the back when he finally saw her. Zelda smiled when she spotted him and bounded over, clutching the Sheikah Slate.
“Thank the goddesses you’re here,” she said, pecking his cheek. “They haven’t made anything good for dinner in days.”
She walked right past him. Link’s mouth popped open as she practically flew to another inscription of the ruins being studied. Purah, following close behind Zelda, approached Link as he looked over.
“Two weeks she hasn’t seen me and I get a colder welcome than ten thousand year old ruins.”
Purah clicked her tongue and began to cross past Link.
“Sounds like you better get cooking.”
And so he didn’t see his blur of a girlfriend until dinner, when he was serving a ladle-full of meat stew to everyone who passed by with a bowl, salty chunks of meat and sweet carrots swimming in a broth that radiated a scrumptious scent for at least a mile.
The last person he served came up wearing a forehead beaded with sweat and sticky blonde hair from a hard-days work. As she approached, she lightly hit the empty wooden bowl against her hand, and pursed her lips taut with eyes almost apologetic. Her steps shuffled in the sand.
“Look who it is,” Link said before she could muster an apology. He looked more amused than upset, anyway. Zelda sat on her heels in front of the cooking pot and handed him her bowl.
“Sorry,” she said, “it was just a busy day. We think we’re close to finding--”
Link and Zelda’s eyes met. They both knew what she was going to say. The entrance to the caves. The hidden reason why this expedition was such an extensive operation. Only Purah and Impa knew the true reason, after all. Everyone else was just here for research. Bless their hearts.
They knew they needed to find it, but not finding it meant more of an excuse to not go down there.
Yet.
To not let go of the illusion of peace.
Yet.
To not face their mortality once again.
Not yet.
Link looked down to pour soup in her bowl. With everyone else fed--and Zelda more than likely went to the back of the line on purpose so that she would be the last one to eat--Link poured himself a bowl as well. They soon sat down in front of Zelda’s tent.
“When are Impa and Paya arriving?” Link asked.
“Tonight,” Zelda replied, but she swallowed hard, regretting taking another spoonful with a “mm”.
“Oh my gosh I almost forgot!” she said enthusiastically. “You should have seen it, Link. The reunion between Purah and Robbie? They just marched up to each other, both short, old, and wrinkled, said each other’s names and walked off. It’s hard to believe they used to be lovers.”
Link choked on his stew.
“What?”
“Did I not...mention that?”
Link was still coughing, eyes tearing up.
“No?” He croaked, before coughing a couple more times. “You’d think I would remember something like that.”
“Believe me I wish I didn’t,” she said, before changing the subject. “Oh yeah, how did the meeting go?”
“Horrible,” Link said between spoonfuls.
“What do you mean?” Zelda inquired, slightly disappointed. She had hoped diplomacy would work.
“If I had known that Kohga had an eight year-old hiding somewhere in that hideout, I never would have attacked him,” Link started. “Apparently we needed him to keep his son in check. The kid is so hell-bent on revenge that he didn’t even read the treaty. He’s determined to hunt us down until the end of our days. Even his guards think he’s taking it a bit far. I could see it in their faces when Sooga was going on and on about his forces being strong and ready to fight. Those poor men and women are tired.”
“I thought the Yiga wore masks?”
Link shook his head.
“Not anymore,” he replied. “Sooga wants them to be proud of themselves, whatever that means. Goddesses, that whole meeting was like getting a child to eat their vegetables. I’m pretty sure Riju was about to slap him at the end, the little runt recycling the dogmas of the Yiga that are ten thousand years old now. Even when I ask him why he said such things about Hylians, he doesn’t give a straight answer. He knows less about history than I do and I had amnesia. He’s just been conditioned, raised to hate.”
“That’s unfortunate, but not hopeless,” Zelda said. “I’m sure Riju and the rest of the Gerudo will be able to work it out if the entirety of the clan no longer backs him. Is there any danger until then?”
Link shook his head and swallowed his current spoonful.
“Not yet,” he said once he could. “The only reason they haven’t attacked here is because he wants to find the entrance of the caves as much as we do. He didn’t say it outright, but he’s waiting for us to do it for him.”
“That’s not frightening at all,” she said sarcastically. “We’ll have to increase security when we do eventually go down there, make sure he doesn’t follow us.”
“I wouldn’t worry too much about it, Zelda,” Link said. “He’s only eight years old, and he’s pretty short and lean.”
Zelda smiled as she sipped her soup.
“I remember a little eight year old like that who could best adult knights,” she said with a smirk. “People say he saved Hyrule.”
“Really?”
“Never grew an inch after eight years old though.”
Link scoffed.
“I can and will pour the rest of this stew over your head,” he said as he held it up. Zelda laughed, but put her arms out in defense.
“Don’t you dare!” She exclaimed. She stood up and began to back away “I’m a princess!”
“Not anymore,” Link said, forgetting about the soup and tackling her. They wrestled playfully, rolling down the rocky slope and laughing joyfully until they stopped suddenly in a gulch, Zelda hovering over Link and sharing with him panting breaths.
“I win,” she said.
“By chance,” Link argued. He brought a hand up and lightly coaxed her head to lower. It, however, did not take much effort, as Zelda more than willingly met his lips to his, exploring his mouth and enjoying the sensation. She felt her cheeks warm. Kissing was all they had ever done, so being flush to him was frankly exhilarating, but she didn’t mind it in the slightest.
They both heard the reigns of horses, the clatter of a covered wagon, the jingle of Kakariko-style bells, but it blended too much into the rest of the ruckus for them to think anything of it.
“Paya, you brought us to the wrong place,” Impa said. “I wanted to go to the research expedition, not a mating ritual exhibition.”
Zelda pushed herself off Link and attempted to fix her hair, composing herself as best she could. Link stood up, but he let his messy hair be.
“H-hey Impa,” Zelda said, walking towards her oldest friend. Despite her feeble frame and short stature, Impa hopped off the wagon like a child. “How was the trip?”
“Long,” Impa said, bruskly.
“She’s a bit cranky,” Paya explained as she stepped off and started to untie the two brown horses from the wagon. “Where do these go?”
“Over there,” Link said, pointing over to the mini-stable on the left of the canyon. “And your tent is the one next to ours. If you’re hungry, there’s probably some stew left.”
“Please,” Impa said, allowing the young man to lead the way to the appropriate cooking pot. She even let him help her walk when the terrain wasn’t the smoothest.
They had left Zelda alone, but it gave her the opportunity to help Paya with unloading the wagon, and to catch up with one of her newer friends before they all turned in for the night.
Zelda was surprised to find Paya as reserved as she was when they first met, but after a bit of grilling she admitted to Zelda that Impa had told her of their true purpose here, that sealing Calamity Ganon may not have been an ending they could trust. Her red eyes were sad and apologetic for learning the secret but Zelda wouldn’t have it, insisting to Paya that it was okay, that it won’t be a secret for long, and that Hyrule was going to be okay.
That last one was a lie Zelda thought about well into the night.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Zelda.”
He opened his eyes to the dark tent, the edge where tan cloth met a small patch of dry grass.
Link couldn’t believe a whisper was what woke him up. Still half awake and already turned away from the center flap of the tent, he kept his eyes closed, hoping he could doze off again.
“Zelda, wake up.”
Someone gently shook Zelda’s foot, and Link guessed the voice belonged to Paya.
Link felt Zelda’s arms slide away from holding him and he tried to slow his breaths. They both would feel so guilty for waking him.
“What is it?” Zelda asked, the rustling that followed suggesting that she got out of the tent. “Should I wake up Link?”
Paya must have shaken her head, or said something to suggest that it wouldn’t be necessary, because that was the last Link heard of the conversation.
He inwardly wrestled with the decision to get up anyway since he was, in fact, awake, but his comfort insisted otherwise and he drifted off before he made up his mind.
“Link.”
The sunlight was bright, even through the dulled filter of the canvas tent.
He felt Zelda’s hand on his shoulder, and he rolled over at the gentle prompt. Link found her green eyes.
“We found it,” she said. “An entrance to the caves.”
Link closed one eye and scrunched up his face. Zelda knew he did that when he was both tired and confused but with his messy bedhead she saw it as adorable.
Link moved his arm to the other, pinching his own skin somewhere around the wrist and, once he felt pain, his entire body sighed exasperated. He faced the top of the tent and closed his eyes far too tight to go back to sleep.
He opened the blue gems one at a time and took a deep breath.
“I assume we are leaving as soon as possible?”
Zelda nodded.
Link didn’t say another word when he got up and started getting ready, almost ignoring Zelda and how she sat on her heels in her own silent and undetectable bout of sadness. He even left her there in the tent but Zelda let him have his space, let him breathe his last breaths in this wild, fresh air, let him hear the birds and see the sun before she dragged him down to hell, back down to war, back down to fear and panic and worry and trauma and everything he had worked so hard to heal from.
It wasn’t until they were several steps into the caves that his stoicism really started to wear at her. One statement and all of him was left in the tent. He just…walked, looking forward, not saying a word. Zelda hated it as much as she did a hundred years ago. She tried to remember that he wasn’t really mad at her back then, so he couldn’t be mad at her now…
Right?
She looked over at his profile again.
Right?
“Link?”
The hooves of the large, blue ox behind them clapped along.
“I, uh…” she began when he gave no response. “I’m sorry about all this.”
“It’s not your fault,” Link said quickly and briskly.
Zelda’s lips parted. Her pacing slowed to a halt. If she hadn’t stopped pulling the ox along, it would have rammed into her.
Link looked over his shoulder when he realized he was the only one moving, turning around completely to see Zelda with a slightly furrowed brow.
“Why don’t I believe you?” Zelda asked.
He decided to look elsewhere as he hugged his arms close, the stone ground, the cavernous chasm above them, the rocky wall, anywhere but Zelda.
“I’m not mad at you, I...” he said quietly, “I’m just feeling a little off, okay?” He said quietly. “I had trouble breathing when I left the tent this morning.”
Zelda’s expression softened. She closed the distance between them and attempted to comfort him with a hand on his shoulder.
“You could have told me that,” Zelda said. “I’m nervous too. We have a right to be. It’s nothing to be ashamed of.”
Yet Link still refused to look up.
“I almost collapsed, I felt so weak,” Link said. “The dread, the fear of facing it all again, the thought of losing you…it gathered, I felt it here.”
He placed a hand on his chest and he started to pant. His fingers began to clutch at the brown leather, the blue cloth and he stumbled to his knees.
“Link!” Zelda exclaimed as she grabbed him under his forearms, kneeling down with him. His breaths were shaky and fast, and he stared down at the ground.
“Link,” she repeated. “Link.”
The next sound from Link was the combination of a spurt of fresh paint and a croaking frog, warm vomit spilling from his mouth in smelly chunks of beef and carrots. It was instinct that Zelda stood up with a yelp and backed away with arms floating up, the gathering of vomit ending up mere inches from her toes. If she had stayed where she was, her pants would have been covered in Link’s partly-digested dinner.
“Oh gosh, Link,” she said once she got over the shock, rushing to his side and drawing circles on his back. He didn’t react though, only staring at the mess on the floor with his weight on his hands.
Zelda’s eyes stung with tears as she ran her fingers through his hair, some drops even lopping onto Link’s mess. She held him as best she could while still giving him the distance he needed, but that could never stop her from the occasional kiss on the side of his head and whispering sweet assurances of love into his right ear.
After a couple fruitless lurches of his back and neck, Link hurled a second time. As ironic as it was for her to hope for anything from the goddess anymore, Zelda prayed it was the last one.
“Zelda,” he said between heavy breaths. It was apparent his lungs were exhausted. He coughed a couple times.
Link looked into Zelda’s eyes, finally, although they veered towards horror, the green marbles conveying desperation for how to relieve this poor young man.
“I know,” she said, trying to smile. She wiped away Link’s tears. “I know.”
Wary of the mess near them, she brought him into a proper embrace, rocking him back and forth and holding him in such a way that she was sure he knew he was held. She wasn’t sure how secure he could feel on the cusp of embarking into danger, but she would try her best.
“I’m scared, too,” she said. “Down here is an untouched wild that was left alone for a reason we know not of. Nothing is scarier than the unknown, especially for us who have been hurt again and again by the unknown. Hope has betrayed us too much for us to readily depend on it, but we have to try.”
Link looked up, tilting his head to see her.
“How?”
Zelda lips parted. She stammered speechlessly. He seemed so hurt by her hopefulness.
“Together,” she said, attempting to fake her confidence. There was still a small question mark at the end of her statement that she didn’t mean to expose.
Link stood up and faced away from her. He crossed his arms.
“Do you know how long a version of Ganon has been terrorizing Hyrule?” Link asked. “How long he has been reincarnating?”
Zelda, who was now sitting on her heels, shook her head.
“No,” she said honestly.
“Do you know what makes us any different from the people who tried to stop him in the past?”
“No,” Zelda repeated, again, honestly.
Link nodded.
“I don’t either,” he said. “And that scares me.”
Zelda stood up.
“Link, we—”
“I can’t lose you!” Link exclaimed, turning around quickly. “I ignored it, okay?! All this time when you talked about there being caves, there being another journey, I ignored it! I put it off! I casted it aside! I focused on us.” His voice broke. “I thought that was all there would ever be…”
He placed his hands on his hips and collected himself.
“This morning it all collapsed,” he said. “Right before my eyes. Everything I could have ever hoped for.”
Zelda scoffed.
“Do you think I was happy to have found these caves?” Zelda asked rhetorically. “To have been woken up in the middle of night and told that this place I saw in my nightmares was indeed real, that I was to investigate a threat that hasn’t been faced in ten thousand years of Hyrule birthing warriors more capable than you? I had to keep a straight face, but Link, I wanted to scream so loud that even Lurelin could hear me!”
Zelda released her residual anger at the world in heavy pants of her breaths. Once she sighed herself calm, she snagged a small rag from the heaps of resources strapped to the patient and by now likely deaf ox.
Zelda stepped forward and washed Link’s stunned face clean of vomit.
“Then I thought of our future,” Zelda continued. “I was angry because coming down here means jeopardizing that. I scorned myself for how selfish that was. I told myself that this wasn’t about me and you, that this is about a peaceful Hyrule. That helped but...do you want to know what really helped?”
“What?” Link asked.
“The people of Hyrule want to live in peace, and so do we. They want to raise families without worrying about another Calamity.” Zelda smiled. “I think we do too, when the time comes.” She perished the thought. That was a long while down the road. “But this isn’t just about a peaceful Hyrule, it’s about our peaceful Hyrule. I’m no longer a princess, distanced from others by a pedestal, and you are no longer a knight, distanced from others by a sword. We actually feel like a part of Hyrule this time. Of course we loved the Champions, my father, but we aren’t acting as Hyrule’s weapons anymore. We don’t feel like cards to be discarded or pawns to be knocked off in a game of chess. All of this is voluntary. We can’t blame a kingdom or a calamity this time. The possibility of losing each other is already giving us stomach-churning guilt because no one told us to go down here. We came down here because we want to preserve peace for all of us, preserve peace beyond even our lifetimes.”
Zelda placed a hand on Link’s cheek.
“And we will,” she said. “We have to believe we will. If we don’t think we’ll get out of here, then there is no chance we will. This is our first on-our-own decision and it’s a damn risky one. We can always turn back if--”
“No,” Link interrupted.
Link’s hand went to hers and his thumb stroked her soft fingers.
“No,” he repeated, however shakily. “We are going through with this. I just need to process it, that’s all. I didn’t think we would actually be doing this. I think we both held on to the fantasy of peace. I definitely held on to it too much.”
He finally let her touch soothe him.
“I’m here,” Zelda assured him softly. “I’m right here.”
She took his hand and placed it on her heart, the rhythm of which pulsated through his own veins.
“I’m not supposed to be alive right now,” Zelda said. “I should have died an eighty year old queen about thirty years ago but here we both are, young and spry. These caves are filled with dangers we don’t know, but with my heart in your hands and your heart in mine I know we can dare to do the impossible again.”
Link met his forehead to hers and closed his eyes. He tried to breathe the way she was, to feel her calm and to adapt it into his own body.
“Okay,” he said. “I’m ready.”

What was the instance in A Change in Fate where Warriors saw Twi go nuts?
So this has been sitting in my inbox for forever, and I'm so sorry about that anon. Words were not my friend with this one.
So, I think I finally figured out how to words, so I'm finally answering this.
This detail is referenced in two different chapters, but it's mainly a tiny detail from Chapter 14, where, spoilers, Twi absolutely loses his shit on Sooga after Sooga kills Wild. Or, at least that's the chapter I can remember off the top of my head.
So, the exact set up to this scene is, vague. I don't have a solid lead up to it, so, uh, imagine what you want here. But the end result is that everyone is split up for a little bit.
So, Twilight ended up with like, Wild or Wind. Either work for this and I never got much past that since that wasn't the point, so feel free to take your pick.
They're in Warriors' era, and at this point there are still a few turncoats running around. Not a lot of them, but some. And they are not fond of any of the Heroes. And thus, when they arrive, these turncoats have nine new targets.
Twilight and whichever other Link was with him end up making it to the castle last. They're found before they make it to Castletown and end up cornered. The other Link was knocked out in an earlier fight with a group of monsters, so they're already injured and tired when they end up cornered.
Twilight does not react to this well. He's one of the Links who already has a poor opinion of soldiers, and he's already bleeding and tired, and now he's got another person to protect. So his patience was already fraying when they end up cornered.
He'd managed to keep his cool for a while. It was actually impressive, considering the fight he got out of and how outnumbered he was. But he's generally a pretty controlled person, so he holds it together.
But, he's also a wolf. Wolves are predators, and they are very, very loyal to their pack. He has fangs and claws, and he knows how to use them. And backing any predator into a corner is a bad idea. Because a predator in a corner tends to lash out.
So when one of the soldiers tries to go for the easier target, the person Twilight is protecting, he snaps.
When Warriors finds him, Twilight is crouching over the Link he's protecting, that Link still unconscious, and there are the dead bodies of soldiers nearby. Twilight is very much wearing their blood, and he looks like he probably mauled one of them (he did). And, he doesn't seem fully present.
So when Warriors arrives Twi is still in fight mode. And the people he's fighting were soldiers, so seeing a new soldier come up had his hackles up. He's not thinking clearly, and so he doesn't recognize Warriors. He sees a soldier, a threat.
Fortunately, Warriors is a good talker, and he's able to talk Twi down from his desperate fight mode so he can think clearly again. And once Twi is thinking clearly, it's obvious he doesn't even have a clear memory of exactly what happened. He kinda blacked out.
Warriors helped Twi to cover up the whole event, save a single report to Artemis that they'd gotten rid of a few more turncoats, and then they head back to the castle and the rest of the Chain. No one else ever finds out about this. Warriors said nothing because he figures it's not his place and also he doesn't want to make whatever Twi is going through worse by accident. And Twilight says nothing because he's already got a few issues with how one of his titles is 'beast' and doesn't want the others to see him as a beast, as dangerous and unpredictable.
So it never gets addressed.
