To Ward a Natural Space

This is a Ward that defends a natural area against those who would disrespect the land. It was taught to me by the Glaoming Folk, and I have since been given permission to share the process in hopes that others might use it to protect their own beloved ecological sites. It is worth noting that this ward only seems to have a range of about 20 to 40 feet, which I realize isn't necessarily ideal, but when strategically placed, multiple wards can be used to create a 'warding net' across an area.

To make this Ward, a switch must be harvested from a propitiated Crabapple tree, which is then split in half to create a pair of sticks measuring approximately the same length. Thereafter, a long and thin runner of blackberry bramble is collected and harvested—ideally from a place with fae activity—and is stripped of leaves. A God's Eye is then woven using the Crabapple sticks and the Blackberry brambles, working one's intent into every turn of the Weaving, before a tuft of Hare's fur is ensnared within the center of the ward. All of this must be done bare-handed, as every prick and drop of blood serves to strengthen the will of the Ward and appease the Spirit of the Blackberry, which lends its power to this magic.

The resultant device can then either be hung with twine, or simply placed in a fitting spot. It has shown itself to be quite helpful in discouraging those who would litter or mar a natural space from doing so. While littering and tree carving hasn't gone away entirely since beginning to use these, it has most certainly dropped significantly—and only in the places where they are employed.

⛤Evil Eye and Protection⛤

Many cultures around the world believe that through our thoughts or through an envious look, a person can harm another person by causing illness, injury or even death. 

There are many different names for this phenomenon, and the most common one is “the evil eye”.

What is the Evil Eye?

This word describes the process during which a person is affected by the negative energy of another person that hurts us intentionally or unintentionally.

In Islam:

“The Evil Eye” (ar. el-ajn) is a "poisonous arrow" that comes out of the envious person or the cause of the spell and goes towards the person who is envied and who wants to be cursed.

Sometimes this arrow works on a person, and sometimes it doesn't. If a man has no protection, then it affects him, and if he protects himself from it, then it has no effect on him.

The spell that affects people is the result of envy or too much admiration for something.”

Although we have our first testimonies of the evil eye in Islamic culture, it is deeply present in other cultures and traditions under different names.

Many people consider this to be pure superstition and a phenomenon for which there are no rational explanations but still partake in some of the methods used against it (such as knocking 3 times on wood) during situations in which they feel like their luck could turn bad.

⛤How to protect yourself

There are a lot of ways to check whether in a period when only bad luck follows us, the cause is someone's magic or the evil eye. 

Some of the oldest and very simple methods offer us the possibility to find out easily.

⛤Spot The Evil Eye with Olive Leaves

Olive oil, olive leaves and water should be prepared for this ritual. 

Fill the pot with water and pour three drops of olive oil. 

Then add the olive leaves.

If the oil separates from the leaves, it is an indication that there is an influence of the evil eye.

⛤Spot Negativity With Lemons

Lemons are used in this ritual, it is best if it is an odd number, three, five or seven. 

They should be placed in the corner of every room. 

After a few days, see if there are any changes on them. 

If black spots appear on them, spots of unclear shape, this is a sure sign of present negativity.

⛤A Magical Ritual to Remove Spells and Negative Influences

This simple and old method is considered very effective for removing spells and negative energy. 

It is done during the full moon. 

This ritual requires a little help from someone you trust.

What should be prepared for the ritual is:

one new white plate

one new white candle

fresh water

olive oil.

First, find a place where you will sit during the ritual and light a candle so that it is close to you. 

In the plate that the person is holding above your head, they should pour water, and then you should touch the water with your left hand. 

After that, the person pours three drops of olive oil into the water, saying:

"The evil eye was sent with envy and left with love."

Then it is observed on the plate how the oil drops have formed. 

If they have not separated, it is a sign that there is no presence of the evil eye, but if they have separated into countless small droplets, then the influence of negative energy is present. 

This method allows us to find out whether the evil energy was sent by a man or a woman. Namely, if the drops of oil are formed in the form of a line, it means that the influences were sent by a man. 

Oil droplets formed in the form of a circle mean that the negativity was sent by a female person.

At the end, the water is thrown into the ground, which should be illuminated by the light of the Moon, and on that occasion it is said:

 "May the spell and evil return to where they came from and to the one who sent them."

I know this gets zero points for aesthetics from the High Magic crowd, but once I learned that strong smells disrupt etheric energy and can even destroy talisman consecrations that I'd spent hours on, I started using TIGER BALM to unblock my energy centers, and I am never going back. Vicks works too, and I think it's less expensive. In fact, I think you can get it at the Dollar Store.

You have a cold? Put Vicks on it. Sore muscles? Vicks on it. Imbalance in you mleh-mleh-mleh chakra? VICKS. Some newb trying to target you with a ray? Vicks.

Tips for pagans/witches I discovered #1

You can invoke Loki's name to banish negative energies and spirits. Literally, just shout that you banish them in his name in whatever words you like. He will hear you and help you. It might help that I work with Loki, but I have told negative entities they aren't welcome and to go in his name and they went. Even my friend on the other end of the phone benefitted from my shouting at the negativity to piss off. Loki is a protector deity, a God of the Hearth and Home and Divine protector of Children. He takes these calls seriously and will very likely respond to your call if needed.

Creating Wards

Wards do not need to be fancy when it comes to making them. They can be made in so many different ways, including making them out of a spell/ritual, making them out of pure energy, and even out of creativity.

Examples of Physical Wards: We personally cleanse using frankincense since it is a sacred incense to the Theoi historically. We let that burn in our cauldron and let the smoke fill the air until it is finished burning. Once that is done, we make a particular sigil that is made to cover all the bases of the wards that we want, burning it on top of the frankincense. The sigil was drawn on notebook paper with a black marker.

Examples of Pure Energy: This dips into energy magic, learning how to feel your own energy and using it in your craft. If you know how to feel your own energy, letting it flow from your fingertips to create protection around you. Any wards you wish to erect can be made with intent and letting your energy flow about you. This can be especially used if you're in the broom closet or unable to afford supplies.

Examples of Creativity Wards: We have made a couple posts regarding this but this could be regarding any lyric/quote in popular media and turning it into a ward. An example we have mentioned in passing before is Peaky Blinder's Wire Cutting. It is taking the concept of the mental manipulation mind game and turning it into a ward trap. Should someone send something your way, you can make them think they are trapped and have to navigate their way out very carefully. You would make your own version of the wire cutters to leave behind to tip them off. If they are caught, they are left scrambling and navigating, leaving you with enough time to be able to deal with them. It is using your creativity and making something from a quote/lyric that can help you out heavily. From there, you activate how you see fit.

The Pender Ward:

An Amulet of Personal Protection

"The 'Pender' is an Amulet that serves as a potent, portable, protective ward against malefic forces.

Each Pender Ward is composed from a Hagstone and a Thunderstone that are bound to one another by a length of thirteen alternating beads. A simple protection candle I made this evening. To be totally honest, I wasn't planning on using this candle for this, but felt pulled to do so, so here it is. I'll light it intermittently in the next several months to continue and strengthen the spell!

because of this most dark mages tend to work in very brightly-lit areas (either artificial light or outside in the daytime) to fuel their spells and wear and use lightly coloured clothes and tools so that they’re easier to see in the dimness their spells create, whereas light mages wear heavy, sometimes leaden robes (depending on the work being done) and the magical equivalent of welding masks to protect themselves from what can be an extreme amount of light, and sometimes other kinds of electromagnet radiation!
