i just watched this video on iPhone vs android, and one of the questions that really got to me was 'if i was to switch, much would it ruin your life a little bit', and honestly, yeah, switching from apple to another ecosystem would just be a fucking nightmare
like the thing is, im someone who really enjoys the 'apple ecosystem'. yea big corpo bad etc etc but i just really enjoy using apple stuff, and how well it all fits together bring me joy in my day-to-day. hell, being able to copy something on my phone and paste on my laptop is so bloody useful, and that's just the tip of how well inter-connected it all is. i love using all of it - even how they make uis is something i like (i know people can hate it, but for me macOS is my favourite os ever)
if i had to switch, it'd cost me so, so, so much money, at least to do so entirely, and i could never, ever, do this again. as much as i enjoy this whole ecosystem stuff, i will never in my life lock myself down like this again, even to some goody-two-shoes that promises to make everything open-source or smth. because, despite everything, i do get the little gnawing at the back of my mind that lets me know just how screwed id be if apple dropped off the face of the earth tomorrow. id do whatever it took to never have it happen again
this is just a random ramble tbh. don't be like me, use linux

“shit, are you bleeding?” i’m dying to read zuko crashing his razer scooter now haha
For this prompt game! (And also this one!)
Sokka pauses when the phone rings, eyeing his bowl of noodles and his chopsticks and his water bottle and his propped-up textbook and finally shoving his phone between his shoulder and his cheek so he can add that into the mix, too. “What’s up, hot cakes?”
“Can you—wait, hot cakes? That was awful.”
“Hot pants,” Sokka suggests, grinning at the familiar annoyed rasp of Zuko’s voice.
“Absolutely not.”
“Hot cheeks.”
“Somehow even worse.”
“How bout ‘my love,’” Sokka says, saccharine sweet and smirking when Zuko coughs in surprise. “Was that one fine?” he asks, faux innocent as Zuko wheezes. “No commentary all of a sudden?”
“No, uh—that one’s fine,” Zuko says, clearing his throat, and Sokka can picture the wash of flustered, pleased pink that is definitely staining Zuko unscarred cheek to go along with that tone.
“So what can I do for you, my love?” Sokka asks around a mouthful of noodles. “And before you get into it—I know you need something because you know I’m researching this afternoon, and you wouldn’t have called during that if you didn’t need something, so lets just skip the runaround.”
“…Can you come get us?”
Sokka pauses mid-bite. “…Did you crash?”
Zuko sighs, aggrieved and heavy. “Just please come get me.”
Sokka blinks as Zuko suddenly hands up, surprised and a little bit worried as he gathers up his keys, and then a bit more worried when he reaches the park and immediately spots Zuko sitting on the curb, unmistakable disheveled, shirt torn and hair full of leaves, face smudged with dirt as he stares morosely at what was once a scooter.
“You did crash,” Sokka accuses him as he quickly gets out of the car, eyes flicking over Zuko as he checks for any arms at the wrong angles or ankles twisting in weird directions.
“No,” Zuko huffs, clearly put out and clearly letting Sokka skim his hands over him looking for injuries anyway.
“Oh, really? Sokka rolls his eyes, gently feeling along the back of Zuko’s head and picking out leaves as he goes. “So your razer scooter spontaneously mangled itself?”
“It might as well have,” Zuko grumbles, obediently letting Sokka look into his eyes.
Sokka ignores the way Zuko glowers back.
“I told you,” Sokka says, grabbing one of Zuko’s wrists and checking for road rash or gravel or bruises or anything. “I told you—something like this was going to happen if you keep going too fast.”
“It’s not too fast, there’s no such thing as too fast.”
“That’s a kid’s toy, it can’t handle all the ridiculous things you do to it.”
“It’s fine,” Zuko scoffs, handing over his other wrist. “It’s been fine.”
“And how fine is it now?” Sokka challenges, giving the bent metal a pointed look. “And you’re not even wearing your elbow pads, are you, and shit, are you bleeding? You’re bleeding.” He yanks Zuko’s wrist around to get a better look at the scraped, raw stretch of skin. “And right on your elbow, which is where one might wear elbow pads, just saying.”
Zuko mutters something too low for Sokka to catch. His expression is plenty articulate, though.
“Oh, what, did they not make you look cool?” Sokka rolls his eyes, nudging at Zuko’s leg so he can check his jeans for any new rips. “I got you a set with flames on it, didn’t I.”
“Those were for children!”
“Well someone was being childish about it,” Sokka bites back, tart.
“I’m fine,” Zuko protests as he stretches out his other leg for Sokka to look over. “I don’t need them, I don’t fall.”
Sokka raises his eyebrows, pointed.
“I don’t fall unaided,” Zuko corrects.
“What,” Sokka snorts, “Like by gravity? Tell me you were at least wearing a helmet.”
Zuko purses his lips, suddenly looking very invested in contemplating the sky over Sokka’s head.
“Zuko!”
“I didn’t have it on me!”
“You scooted away with it!” Sokka says, incredulous. “What, did you take it off the minute you were out of sight?”
Zuko suddenly finds the tree line very fascinating, too.
“Ridiculous,” Sokka finally huffs, shaking his head and pushing off Zuko’s thighs to rise to his feet. “You’re like a preteen girl trying to sneak out of the house.”
“Know all about that, do you,” Zuko says as he lets Sokka pull him to his feet.
Sokka snorts. Katara in her middle school years… “Come on, let’s get you into the car and into a bath,” he says instead, reaching up to brush at a bit of dirt over Zuko’s unscarred cheek. “You’re looking a bit smudged. And hey,” he adds when Zuko just sighs, looking mournfully at the scooter again, “How about I’ll even see if I can fix Druk for you—on one condition.”
Zuko pauses halfway through perking up, shooting Sokka wary look.
As he should be. “I would like to hear the words.”
Zuko groans, dropping his head back.
“Those sweet, sweet words,” Sokka grins, gazing with all the melodrama he has off into the distance.
“Sokka…” Zuko protests.
Sokka adds in some hands clasped above his heart. “The words every man is dying to hear.”
“This is ridiculous,” Zuko huffs, stalking over to grab up his scooter.
“Just three little words,” Sokka sighs with longing.
“I can fix my own damn scooter.”
Sokka breaks character to raise his eyebrows at him, amused. “Can you now.”
“I can figure it out,” Zuko says, obstinate.
“Uh huh,” Sokka agrees indulgently. “How fast.”
“…I have other scooters,” Zuko grumbles.
“Which is why,” Sokka says, nodding sagely, “You’re holding this one like a baby.”
Zuko glowers another moment, then glances down, scowling harder as he registers the way he’s clutching Druk to his chest.
“Buddy,” Sokka says, clapping him on the shoulder and making his tone mock understanding, “Sometimes it’s just the price you gotta pay for riding without protection.”
Zuko eyes him a moment. “I never hear you complaining,” he mutters.
“Oh, loudly and often, baby,” Sokka smirks, dropping his hand to flip his keys obnoxiously around his finger. “Stop being an ice queen and give ‘em to me, it’s time to pay the dealer.”
Zuko sighs, staring up at the sky a moment. “Fine.”
Sokka cups a hand around his ear. “Fine?”
“Fine,” Zuko grits out.
“Well then, I’m all ears,” Sokka grins, spreading his hands and adding when Zuko mutters something quick and low beneath his breath, “What was that?”
Zuko huffs, glaring. “Youwereright.”
“Hm, I don’t know if I caught that,” Sokka says, tapping at his chin and openly laughing at Zuko’s annoyance. “Come again?”
“You were right,” Zuko snaps, aggrieved, as if he doesn’t do the same thing to Sokka at every chance he gets.
“Oh, what was that? I’m sorry, I got distracted by—”
“You. Were. Right,” Zuko bites out, stiff and annoyed, suddenly shaking himself out and adding, pointed, “You were right that no one could have predicted Toph.”
Sokka blinks. “Toph?”
“Toph,” Zuko agrees, expression caught somewhere between haunted—or hunted, maybe—and satisfaction.
Sokka frowns. “What does Toph have to do with—”
“You might want to fold down your mirrors.”
“What?”
“Your sideview mirrors.” An amusement that Sokka does not trust flits over Zuko’s face as his eyes flick over Sokka’s shoulder. “Might want to fold them.”
Sokka stares a moment, blank. Then he registers the familiar whir of tiny wheels and whirls around to find someone whizzing toward them so fast Sokka can barely see it, letting out a—manly—shriek of surprise. “What the fu—” he cries out, stumbling back and vaguely registering the crash as Zuko drops Druk to steady him.
“Toph,” Zuko says sagely, as the blur of scooter and person and flame decaled protective gear blazes by, perfectly balanced and perfectly straight and cackling as she takes the sideview mirror straight off Sokka’s car, zooming on into the skate park with a fierce grin on her face as other skaters dive out from in front of her. “I thought she could use the elbow pads.”
Sokka stares after her hurtling figure, then slowly transfer his gaze to the mirror still gently spinning on the ground.
“And that’s two of us who couldn’t predict her,” Zuko adds, smug.
“Right,” Sokka says, faint. He thinks…he doesn’t remember that predicting Toph was part of it, but…
“Good thing you just learned how to put one of those back on, love,” Zuko adds, smirking and giving Sokka a solid pat on the back before hefting up Druk again.
“Yeah,” Sokka says faintly as Zuko plucks the keys from his hand, looking far too satisfied for somebody that Toph took out first. “Good thing.”

ok quick question for the people still awake that are browsing tumblr. someone accidently reported my steam account for illegal purchases and item duplications when they meant to report someone else. I've been in contact with a Discord account who I was told to appeal to with the display name Kelly Thornton. so far I had to log out of steam on my compute and my account's email, phone number have been removed and my password have been changed. so far I had to buy a "$50 Razer Gold" and send the receipt and product key for the "Item Buying Process Data" on my steam account. I was told that I would be refunded twice (and $50 HAS been added to my steam wallet). unfortunately there was an error due to late compiling of the procedure. now, the database has already revoked the reports but I can't do any transactions like trading and buying in the market and in games. in order to get access to that I have to basically do the whole Razer Gold thing again. is this a scam? I can provide more details if needed

Things My Family Has Said: GLTAS Edition, Part 2.
Guy: Is that a... Christmas Penis?
Hal: I doubt it, you literally see penises everywhere.
Guy, lifting his phone to show various Christmas cookies shaped like penises: These are Christmas penises, and also, fuck you.
--------------
Kilowog: Razer, why are you depressed eating from four different Doritos bags?
Hal: Leave him alone, it's bulking season.
Kilowog: ....he's 98 pounds.
------------
Guy: And they didn't want me in any of their wedding photos! The bride came up afterwards and said, "Oh, goodness, we forgot you were here."
Aya: You should have said, "It's okay, I don't show up on human film."
-----------
Aya, looking at a wall of meat on a game show: What are these... meat curtains?
Hal: Oh, sweet fucking Jesus, please do not say meat curtains! Who taught you that word! WHO TAUGHT YOU THAT?
-----------
Hal: I just got back from my therapy appointment, and the therapist asked me why I'm always struggling. And like, I don't know, fam, you're supposed to be helping me, Rebecca?
----------
Razer, answering his phone: Hello?
Hal: So, my boss came up to me and said, "Hey, you are the least accident prone. Can you come do this thing for me?"
Razer: ....okay....
Hal: Anyway, I immediately fell in a dumpster full of metal. I'm at urgent care getting a tetanus shot.
Razer: How did you tell your boss?!
Hal: I walked in his office dripping blood and said, "Haha, you're not gonna fuckin' believe this."

Started Pokemon Sacred Gold (Rom Hack) to test out my new Razer Kishi mobile controller! Finally found something to do with my junk android lol
Tumblr media
My first impression of this thing was that it’s quite a bit larger than I thought it was 😂 it’s a bit longer, and thinner than my Switch Lite. The joysticks are smooth, the buttons are a bit tight (better than them being loose), but I love the pressure sensitive LR back buttons. It’s designed in a way that doesn’t hurt my hands after prolonged play. This device is the Samsung Galaxy A14 - a pretty low end phone, and everything runs immaculately still 👍🏾 I realize this is an older controller, but it satisfies my mobile gaming needs perfectly for around 60 bucks.

My EDC for Work
I mostly work remote now, but there's still some days that see me head back into the office. My EDC tends to vary depending on what's on my schedule.
Constants:
a Google Pixel 4XL w/ 128 GB in storage space. Basic comms, mobile file storage, music player, notes.
a Flipper Zero module, which is attached to my keychain and allows me to wipe and clone office-related RFID tags. It saves me on having to walk down to the locked and secured actual cloning machine, with Management having needed a while to come around to my using it. I also use it to control our conference room's projector, seeing as the actual remote is always misplaced. It lets me into my office and allows me to spook my non-tech-savvy EV-using colleagues seeing as Toyota doesn't individualize keyfob NFC signals. I also use it to control our garage door and to head inside the apartment. Oh, and it's also my dedicated IR remote for the media center.
two SanDisk Compact UltraFlash USB drives at 128 GB apiece. One is my Ventoy drive and is crammed with every single OS the office needs, from Linux Mint for the Call Centre to Windows Server 2020, as used by the Art and Production teams, with several variations in-between and a few bootable utilities, such as GParted, Hiren's Boot CD, FreeNAS and Proxmox. Both of them are molded to my keychain using little Sugru putty hoops. The Executive pool being beyond all salvation, I also pack a hacked Windows 11 image file that I've modded to be just a little bit more flexible than the commonplace Tiny11 ISO that's accessible online. Allowing sixteen year-old computers running on spinning rust to function off of a modern operating system has at least allowed us to acclimate the older ends of the Accounting department to modern standards. Unlike the actual Tiny11 ISO, I've kept the authentication suite because y'can't really run homebrew Windows images in an office setting legally if the resulting installation can't phone home...
Admin Days:
my Razer Blade 14 laptop and its associated dongles, running off of Windows 11 Pro. I edit campaign-related documents, review project files and sign off on our dealers having fully-assembled digital care packages packed with everything they'll need to get their sales off the ground. I also confirm the proper placement of documents that will need to be accessible for our Printing associates later. Everything IT takes place there, except for what relates to the Call Center. My laptop allows me to Term into our four server stacks if our checklists detect that something's missing, and to visually report on what needs to be transferred. To do all this, I also pack...
a TP-Link USB-C to RJ45 adapter, which is foldable and takes about zero space in my laptop's bag. It works like any other built-in hardline access point.
a no-name collapsible Cat5 Ethernet cable
a small bean bag. This one actually stays in-office, but I take it out from underneath my desk when I know I'll be watching the local network or mothering file transfers for more than twenty minutes. I am not spending half-an-hour standing up in the hot aisle, no sir.
Call Centre Admin Days:
my 512 GB Steam Deck. It's a couch gaming platform at home and a Linux Terming station at work. Going Linux-to-Linux is much more intuitive for me than loading Windows' Linux tools, seeing as it gives me a complete GUI I can use to guide less computer-savvy call agents through common procedures. It virtualizes a barebones-basic Linux Mint install that I can boot up and peer through if some colleagues report weird bugs or VoIP-specific issues, and I can use it for remote takeovers if things get too complex and require that I actually dig in to fix an issue.
my Steelseries Arctis 9 headset and USB emitter. I'm technically obligated to use wired audio peripherals at work, but Management soon realized I had too many side-jobs to take care of at work to really make the use of anything wired practical on the long term. They're plugged in if I have to lend a hand and make a few calls, but typically operate wirelessly. Everyone at the office knows to ping me on 3CX if I'm working within range of my desk, and to text or message me if I'm not.
On-Site Implementation:
my Google Pixel Slate. This old croaker's really useful when I'm dealing with non-tech-savvy salespersons who need a walkthrough of a campaign's documents or who want a demo run of some of our VR and WebGL content offers. It's a decent notepad on its own, and it comes with its own dongles. It's the PC I'll use to access any dealer's infrastructure and confirm with their Sales Director and Financial Controller that everything's above-board and ready to go.
That last one is the least-frequent of my tasks, seeing as Management knows not to send a cripple halfway across the province on his own. They let me implement campaign materials and check for head offices' go-ahead only for local dealerships, some colleagues of Walt's are scattered across the province for the rest.
All of that sort of informs why I took the Brain Gremlin as a persona, as I'm technically able to crater the company that employs me if I so desired, and could do so during personal or business-related trips.
Failing that, I get to fuck around with our presenting hardware if I'm bored, I can wreak havoc with my fellow geeks' radio-powered desktop toys, and have been known to pull an April Fools on my boss by using my Flipper Zero to put his shelf-mounted radio receiver on his least-liked station without opening the door.
FAQ:
WHY U NO USE LINUX ON LAPPY?
Because Razer are incompetent buffoons that long ago made it clear they had no vested interest in supporting the use of Open Source operating systems, and who made it a requirement to use Windows Update in order to get absolutely anything to work on the Razer Blade 14.
If it's any consolation, I use WSL to run Kali Linux on top of my Windows 11 install on my laptop. The way it's set up, you'd swear it's just a productivity and light gaming machine up until I mouse over to and click on a blank spot in the upper border. Kali's own GUI then drops down.
As to why I'd want to attack or breach my own employer's resources? Having an in-house pen-tester is a lot cheaper in this economy.

Mighty Doom shut down some time ago and i felt like making a post.
On one hand, it's important know exactly the type of game it is, the nature it's from and why it might've existed.
Specially considering why people praised Eternal as an "antithetis to the AAA gaming industry" and a series meant to be "eternal".
Specially also compared to the other mobile Doom games, which are opposte to Mighty in that they were meant to contrast the nature of phone games (Even though they were once lost in time, we still had some projects keeping them alive except for Resurrection).
It's a kind of game that was doomed from the start and out of place in its series.
I always thought it should've been a minigame inside a major game (and if there's hope in the future, id would somehow recreate it in another game but without certain features).
I can see why there's reason to miss this game and to me it's "the little things".
The overall collectable aesthetic, some of the skins or even certain mechanics and abilities.
For example, i always wanted a Hell Razer with a "triple laser beam" even if of course in a main FPS Doom.
This is also the first Doom to not be an FPS, by the way.
There's also the debates around lost media, game preservation and even the recent Stop Killing Games movement.
Again, if you told someone the kind of game Mighty Doom is and even how there's people mourning it, they'd be confused because to them, it's another "one of those games".
I also recall DrPySpy, creater of Doom Delta and other Doom projects, posting some stuff about Mighty on their Twitter.
Wonder if there's some attempts at saving stuff from that game.

Global Top 15 Companies Accounted for 52% of total Gaming Monitor market (QYResearch, 2021)
Gaming monitor is defined as displays with a frame rate of 100Hz or above, Gaming monitors are designed to make the output of your graphics card and CPU look as good as possible while gaming. They're responsible for displaying the final result of all of your computer's image rendering and processing, yet they can vary widely in their representation of color, motion, and image sharpness. When considering what to look for in a gaming monitor, it's worth taking the time to understand everything a gaming monitor can do, so you can translate gaming monitor specs and marketing into real-world performance.
Refresh rate is the frequency at which your entire screen refreshes the image. Higher refresh rates make onscreen motion look smoother, because the screen updates the position of each object more rapidly. This can make it easier for competitive players to track moving enemies in a first-person shooter, or just make a screen feel more responsive as you scroll down a webpage or open an app on your phone. Gaming monitors will have features such as response times that are much faster than regular monitors (usually between 1ms and 5ms for gaming monitors), and also higher refresh rates (sometimes as high as 144 Hz and above).

According to the new market research report “Global Gaming Monitor Market Report 2023-2029”, published by QYResearch, the global Gaming Monitor market size is projected to reach USD 26.56 billion by 2029, at a CAGR of 11.6% during the forecast period.

The Role of Clear Phone Cases in Mobile Gaming
Clear phone cases have become increasingly popular among mobile gamers due to their ability to enhance the overall gaming experience. Here are some key points that highlight the role of clear phone cases in mobile gaming:
Protection and Durability
Tumblr media
Clear phone cases provide robust protection against scratches, dents, and cracks, ensuring that the device remains in good condition even during intense gaming sessions. This protection is especially important for mobile gamers who often play games that require a lot of screen interaction, such as touch-based games or games that involve a lot of swiping and tapping.
Heat Reduction
Some clear phone cases, like Razer's Arctech, incorporate heat-reducing technology to prevent overheating during intensive gaming. This feature is particularly useful for games that require prolonged periods of high-performance processing, such as mobile games that involve complex graphics or fast-paced action.
Customization and Personalization
Clear phone cases often offer customization options, such as the ability to add designs or patterns. This allows gamers to personalize their cases and express their individuality. For example, a gamer might choose a case with a design that reflects their favorite game or character, which can enhance their overall gaming experience.
Aesthetics and Style
Clear phone cases provide a sleek and modern look that complements the design of modern smartphones. This aesthetic appeal is particularly important for mobile gamers who often showcase their devices on social media or at gaming events. A stylish case can enhance the overall visual appeal of the device and make it stand out among other gaming accessories.
Functionality and Compatibility
Clear phone cases are designed to be compatible with various phone models and operating systems. This ensures that gamers can easily switch between different devices or platforms without having to worry about compatibility issues. Additionally, clear phone cases often come with additional features such as wireless charging compatibility or shock absorption, which can enhance the overall gaming experience.
Conclusion
Clear phone cases play a significant role in mobile gaming by providing protection, heat reduction, customization, aesthetics, and functionality. These cases cater to the unique needs of mobile gamers, ensuring that their devices remain safe, stylish, and functional during intense gaming sessions.
