Hello everyone,
I don’t usually post anything on here, but needed a way to let out some of the things I have been feeling lately. I was sober for 34 days this last week and relapsed a few days ago and haven’t been able to break the cycle again. I have turned to refuge recovery, a Buddhist recovery program. It’s really interesting and I fully agree with the practices, it’s something I can get behind unlike AA, which I have been in and out for years. I hope this can lead me into a new path that will lead to sobriety for the sake of my close relationships, future relationships, my health and my finances.
Meditation has been a large part of my process since I have started, but it is a constant practice for me to not give into these thoughts of temptation, I am asking anyone who is reading that may have struggled as well and might be on the same recovery plan as me, what are some things that you do that break the cravings, especially during work where I have to be sitting at my desk?
Thank you.

Recover Your Freedom, Awaken Your Heart
The process of recovery will slowly transform us, stirring up all our impurities, bringing all the muck to the surface, where it can finally be healed. This is a path that heals the heart and transforms the mind, leaving us with an “awakened heart and mind.” We have always had good hearts. They were just so badly covered and obscured they were lost to us. By returning to this lost aspect of ourselves, we recover. Many would call this a spiritual awakening, enlightenment, or liberation. Although it may be all these things, it is also just a simple psychologically based process of seeing clearly what is true and, then, learning how to respond appropriately. The appropriate response ends suffering. The appropriate response allows us to recover our freedom. ― Noah Levine, Refuge Recovery: A Buddhist Path to Recovering from Addiction

Below in the hashtags are some subjects we touch on during this episode . Question 12 : Suffering is the feeling of hatred toward oneself . List all the things about yourself you have ever judged or hated. #addictedtobreath #refugerecovery #noahlevine #buddhistpath #33rdchamberofyoga #insecurity #socialstatus #khapalabhati #insecurities #bodyimage #stillinlove #exgirlfriends #vanlife #discipline #questioningsobriety #reservations https://www.instagram.com/p/CPTuvztH11t/?utm_medium=tumblr

Unsatisfactory At the first glimpse of insight into impermanence, people usually wonder, “If everything’s always changing, where can we find lasting happiness?” The answer is simple. Once we stop looking for happiness in impermanent things, we begin to find an internal source of happiness that is not dependent on or addicted to circumstances. As we accept the unsatisfactory nature of all conditioned phenomena, we begin to seek the unconditioned source of all happiness. This is what the Third Truth points to; what we uncover or recover is the liberated heart of unconditional freedom. - Noah Levine, "Refuge Recovery: A Buddhist Path to Recovery from Addiction" #Dukkha #Refuge #RecoveryIsPossible #RefugeRecovery #TakeRefuge https://www.instagram.com/p/CIddWbYpnGQ/?igshid=1tf9516621zyf

Day 3 of my 4-day weekend. Up before sunrise, w/good coffee, a new book ("Refuge Recovery") and all the world still asleep except for me and the furbabies (who are demanding we have some playtime). Been enjoying a couple of well-deserved lazy days. Today is a dialysis day for my hubby and so I will tend to laundry. Tomorrow will be another lazy home day. For now, I will get back to my book, my kitties and my coffee. Feeling quite blessed today... #butfirstcoffee #cawfee #cawfeetawk #coffee #attitudeofgratitude #weekend #refugerecovery #bestillandlisten #enjoythesilence #magickalliving #awitchsworkisneverdone #relaxrefreshrecharge #chooseselfcare #calmthefuckdown #peaceofmind #cantpourfromanemptycup #itsallenergy #breatheinthemagick (at Oceanside, California) https://www.instagram.com/p/CIIt0RIHusr/?igshid=1jwnu7sgzg7lm

1000 days. LIKE WOAH. My practice isn’t perfect, but I’m a million times better off than I was 1000 days ago. If you’re interested in sobriety, please contact me and let’s chat about how sobriety can change your life. I’m still working my process addictions, but sober from drugs and alcohol for 1000 days has seen me achieve great things I never thought possible. #Gratitude to my @refugerecovery family and Monday Night Gutter Monx crew, @refugerecoverywashington, my amazingly patient mentor, my mentees who keep me grounded, and all my friends and family who’ve patiently supported me in my journey. #sober #refugerecovery #sodifferent #sobriety #sobrietyrocks (at Capitol Hill (Seattle)) https://www.instagram.com/p/CBENLOZjz3VIWtdHpetQRatR70XJUuvlKmVRNs0/?igshid=1bwm5ubjk8ojw

Reposted from @therealkingsofsobriety_ I remember early in recovery being told, “its not a drinking problem, it’s a thinking problem” it’s becoming clearer to me that is indeed the truth🙌 Stay strong brothers and sisters👑 X X X #therealkingsofsobriety #sober #soberaf #sobermen #menofsobriety #sobertribe #soberlife #recovery #wedorecover #odaat #ittakesavillage #refugerecovery #dharma #soberlife #soberdads #alcoholicsanonymous #coda #alanon #soberasfuck #higherpower #loveyourself #risesndgrind #formerblackoutartist #lifeonlifesterms #straightedge #soberissexy #anonymousnomore #sobervibes #narcoticsanonymous #fuckaddiction #soberforlife https://www.instagram.com/p/B_vuhWDBrDW/?igshid=1075358k0vjbr
