james and evan are in love with regulus and barty, respectively, but they don’t know how to make a move, cuz regulus is james’ best friend’s brother (obviously), and evan is too scared of ruining his friendship with barty to ask him out. so instead of bracing themselves and fucking trying to ask them out at least, they decide to start fake dating to make those two jealous.

it works on both of them, but reg is better at hiding things like that, so it’s just barty going feral at the sight of his bestest friend making out with his best friend’s crush (cuz he obviously knows about reggie’s crush on james). and because barty is the way he is, he decides to come back at james and evan by starting to fake date sirius. so he goes to sirius and is like “yo, do you want to help me make rosier and potter jealous?” and sirius is like “what’s in it for me?” and barty tells him he knows about his crush on remus and that this whole thing could help the both of them, because he believes remus has a crush on sirius. and he’s like “okay, bet”.

and now we’re left with moonwater - they already are friends, because they both like books and shit, but when they see everything that is going on they’re like “hell nah”. but then they start thinking and because they’re not morons they figure out what’s going on. like, regulus knows about barty’s crush on evan and sirius’ crush on remus so he adds two plus two. he’s just confused about james in all this, but that’s when remus steps in and is like “ye, james likes you, like, A LOT” and regulus is like hihihi🤭. and so they too “get together” to make the rest of them jealous.

the girls and peter know all about it and just place bets on how long it’ll take for everyone to figure everything out.

i’m not sure about the ending, but i know i’d love to have at least one chapter where they’re all in slytherins’ dormitory, sleeping with their respective “boyfriends” and it’s really tense and they do some weird shit idk what yet but yk

I hope the orange side has a super detailled extra show-offy villain outfit like Remus and Janus because I think it'd be cool (I personally think a punk outfit with a bunch of spikes could be awesome and fitting for a side that I think will represent anger) but also funny because like there's these three super glamorous dark sides and right next to them is this dude in a dark gray hoodie who is COMPLETELY dripless (Virgil)

I feel like Remus, Virgil, and Logan would really bond over lost media but for different reasons

Remus is in it for all the creepy shit and all the traumatizing memories people have (he also lost his MIND when Ulterior Motives was found)

Virgil because it gives him even more reason to spend absurd amounts of time scouring the internet (he was obsessed with the Clock Man search and is currently violently a part of the JTK search)

Polish immigrant Hope who never properly taught her son how to speal Polish, because she thought it would be easier for him to fit in. She completely put away her culture and she's been cut off from her family since she left Poland so its not like there's any grandparent for Remus to ever meet (until theres a funeral that remus goes to poland with mum for and its a very weird experience for him as he misses someone he never met).

He speaks very broken polish from his childhood, but unfortunately hopes refusal to teach him or even speak to him in polish has created this weird hatred in young remus for that language. He didn't want the polish kids coming up to him in his class to talk, he didnt want to be treated differently for being polish when he doesn't even know what it means to ve polish. He obviously experiences throughout his life a bit of the typical weirdness some teachers and folks give to foreigners by assuming he doesnt understand something. By seemingly being nice by asking if he understands whatever slightly longer word the posh fucker used while Remus just sits there staring ??? Because he has not spoken a word of polish for majority of his life what do you mean do I know what exaggerated means.

As he grows older though, he realises he doesnt actually hate Polish and he really just feels saddened by not learning it properly as a child. So he tries to speak it poorly and its embarrassing when it takes him so long to think of a word and then to say it in the proper grammatical way but he tries and he sees how emotional hope gets over it and really its worth it. (He also has some upset to work thru at hope for never having anything polish in the house growing up but he is emotionally intelligent enough to know its because of hopes own worries and issues and she was never malicious for it)

I was asked by an anon to do little moodboards for marauders era characters- ive previously done petunia and lily. some notes below!

Notes: firstly, I think Sirius would have adapted quite well to dressing like a Muggle, and would have preferred that to wearing robes, deliberately opting for Muggle clothing when his parents specifically asked him to dress in wizarding garb for dinner or other occasions. His style would have been pretty casual and careless, mostly just tees, open-collar shirts, and jeans/tight-fitting trousers, a lot of it probably found in charity shops and jumble sales once he moved into his own flat, but because it's Sirius his clothing would somehow have come together with that effortless rockstar quality to it anyway. He might have added some accessories like the bandana neckties or the necklaces in some of the photos above, but still in a very cool, casual, kind of grungy way.

Imo Sirius mostly would have worn dark clothing but wouldn't have minded some colour also, simply because he didn't give his clothing much thought-- I do fall on the "Sirius probably had a leather jacket" side of things but it was probably just one, and it was probably fairly weathered and crusty lol. The thing that defines Sirius is that he looks good when he isn't even trying, and that definitely comes through in his clothing as well.

Obviously all of the people in these photos are famous musicians from the time-- I don't think he'd dress quite as radically as Marc Bolan or the Stones are famous for doing onstage etc, but in many photos they share a certain air imo.

sirius black- i think we have quite similar interests/tastes so would get on. both admire loyalty & intellect & saying what you think in ourselves and the people around us, so think we'd be friends

peter pettigrew- the fact he wouldn't just say what he thinks and sucks up to ppl would piss me off fs but it'd be a friends cause of mutual friends i suppose. plus he'd like to go out a lot & i support that

lily- this one is a 50/50 honestly. i'm not too sure she'd like me at all... but perhaps she'd warm up to me. i think half the friendship would just be arguing over differing tastes in media tho

dorcas- this one is also a 50/50. i think she'd like me if she was dating marlene, but not if she wasn't. i also think she'd be friends with me then hate me as soon as she finds out i cheat at almost all boardgames
