Why is it that everytime a character is blatantly bi, monos will insist that their orientation is "up to interpretation" and try to erase their bi-ness by calling the character gay or lesbian or even straight?? Even when the character is a walking bi flag too,, Gettin real tired of y'all tbh

Moon+Seraph Pitch Week

Comp Titles: Wings of Fire x Harry Potter x Perfect Dark (N64)

moon-and-seraph's pitch week is a good way to introduce my Mysterious Realms: Isles of Ysamaldri series!

Note: This does not have a tag list! Nothing will happen if anyone likes this pitch, it’ll just let me know you think it sounds cool and/or wish me luck in my writing :)

Blurb: This takes place in a parallel (but connected) world to our own. This follows my main characters Myrkr and Sanguine, adoptive siblings tasked with assisting their Isle (read: country, state, etc) with political tensions rising between the seven or so Isles that are in the parallel world. They attend the Isles’ Academy, and use certain events as a way to get into an advantageous position for their home Isle. However, Myrkr learns about a secret and important magic that she had been given when she was very young, linked to her father possessing that same magic before her, and a few things spiral out of their control. It’s not about the petty politics of the Isles, anymore.

Themes: Family, Found Family (I guess?), Betrayal, Redemption, Loss, Sacrifice, Love

Current Stage in the Writing Process: This has been started and redone a few times to get the start right, though I have a few disjointed scenes for the start, as well as a working outline! I haven’t worked on it much lately, but I’m not dropping it yet!

okay i know the girlies are talking about Isaac in regards to the aroace rep and realisations (and as they should he’s a phenomenal character and he means the world to me!!) but can we talk about Charlie in episode 6 when he says to Nick “if you didn’t ever want to do it, then I wouldn’t either.”

i’m asexual biromantic and i worry about being rejected for not wanting something that 99% of the population wants, i’m worried that i won’t be able to have a fulfilling relationship with an allo person because i feel like i’d be robbing them of something that i’ve been taught is expected in relationships. But hearing Charlie say, so easily, “if you didn’t ever want to do it… I wouldn’t either.” is so personal to me because he’s literally saying that he can still love Nick and be in a fulfilling relationship with him and never have sex and that it’s okay if Nick never wants to have sex

This is honestly probably REALLY hot take and/or a pet peeve that I have, which may only brother me, may not matter and/or I may not even need to mentioned the first place, but as some who’s Queer (and Biromantic), I want to bring this up.

I feel like that they are some people within the WoF fandom that possibly don’t know the difference between Queer headcanons and canon sexualities for certain characters in the series.

Umber is the ONLY character with a confirmed sexuality - Tui revealed and/or mentioned that Umber is gay, which is stated on Umber’s page in the WoF wiki.

The rest of the Queer characters’ sexuality labels within WoF AREN’T confirmed within the series and/or by the author (in fact, Queer labels probably don’t exist in WoF, due to homophobia and transphobia not existing in the WoF universe).

I’m mentioning this because whenever I see people mentioning Queer rep. in Wings of Fire (especially WLW rep.) people mention that - for example - certain characters like Sundew and Anemone are lesbian, meanwhile in reality and in canon we do NOT know if that’s true or not. They’re canonically Sapphic, yes, but whether or not they ONLY like girls is NOT confirmed.

To me, I feel like stating this about Queer characters in Wings of Fire unintentionally spreads misinformation about them and unintentionally spreads the mindset that if two characters - or people, even - are the same gender and are in love with each other, then they MUST be gay - which is a mindset that (unintentionally) doesn’t recognize that people who like more than one gender exist and that certain labels for that exist - like being Bi, Pan, Poly, Omni, etc.

I’m NOT saying people shouldn’t headcanon canonically Sapphic or Achillean characters as gay and/or even personally believe that they’re gay themselves. Feel free to do that if you want!

However, I honestly feel the need to mention that to people there’s quite a difference between “I headcanon this character as lesbian because I believe that it’s highly likely that she’s lesbian and I personally love and resonate with her.” and “This character IS canonically lesbian because she have feelings for a girl and/or is in a relationship with a girl.” you know?

I’m sorry if this confession made anyone overly-upset, and I’m aware that people who state this about certain queer characters within the series aren’t intentionally being harmful and/or spreading misinformation.

This has been something that’s been on my mind lately that’s been irritating me, to the point that I wanted to mention it to people, so that’s why I stated it there within this confession.

First of all,

Me hating MLM gays?

I don't. I love any type of Komaeda. Gay or bi. But also consider, maybe we deserve some clear bisexual male rep too, hm? I know as a biromantic asexual person, there's a lot of headcanon and canon rep I would like to see people venture into as well.

Secondly, why do you assume I don't have an open mind? I'm a multishipper. My mind is as open as it can be. People deserve to have fun and take canon and transform it to what makes them happy. That's the purpose of transformative fiction, after all.

Storytelling is a meeting of the minds. I'm a huge fan of Kodaka's mind, let me tell you. I think he's brilliant and I love understanding where he's coming from when he's writing characters. I'm not usually a "Death of an Author" kind of person, you see? But with frivolous things like shipping, it's very much "Eh live and let live".

And yes. People who "previously shipped" Nagi-wagy with female characters are getting shit for just having fun on their own end. Somehow I don't think you really care about that. They aren't taking away your gay rep. And also, again, what if it's Bi Male Rep? What then? Is that somehow LESSER than Gay Rep? If so, please rethink your priorities.

Gotham looked beautiful this time of night, the snow covered streets hid the crime and blood quite nicely. It was one of the few times you actually liked looking down on your city.

Make no mistake, it was cold as fuck outside. Which is reason #1 as to why you're currently wrapped up in a blanket, swinging back and forth on your desk chair, working from home for the foreseeable future.

Your cold hands curled around hot mug of white chocolate mocha coffee you drink when the snow frosts the windows of your apartment.

Jason was out patrolling. Going against your insistsance that he wear a bloody coat, you playfully thought about how he was freezing his ass off out there. A smug smirk graced the corners of your mouth when you imagined a tousled Jason, red cold-bitten cheeks, telling you that you were in fact right.

Your wish was on the verge of coming true as you heard heavy boots on your hardwood floors You were beyond ready for bed, braids tied down and silk bonnet on.

As he stripped his snowy suit off him, he put it away and came looking for you. Jason was grateful just this once that you kept the apartment so warm, he would never admit it though.

Jason walked into a cozy scene of you in your shared bed, curled on your side with a million pillows reading one of your (his) classic books.

"I feel like i'm interrupting..." Jason trailed off in a groggy voice. He always tries to minimize how much the patrols take out of him.

You didn't reply, instead you flung open his side of the covers and patted a spot for him, while jokingly wiggling your eyebrows.

Jason chuckled, but politely declined as he desperately needed a shower.

After a good 15 minutes of wallowing in your sadness because of your utter lack of Jason-induced warmth, you decided to see for yourself what was so interesting in the shower.

There he was in all his glory.

Head against the wall and back facing the oncoming spray of scalding hot water. He's littered with bruises, but he would never tell you how bad they hurt. How bad he wanted to jump out of his skin every time a new scar formed. How he wanted to scrub every odd colour on his skin off. How he wanted to dig his nails into the discoloured areas ad rip-

Knock. Knock. Knock.

A soft knocking on the glass pane of the shower door tore him from his thoughts. You were standing on the other side, undressed and in a towel peering up at him with big expecting eyes.

Jason realized something crucial.

You missed him.

Your pour soul missed him.

And here he was, wallowing his his issues forgetting that he had been gone for hours.

Who said he had to wallow by himself?

He laughs at himself and reaches a bruised hand to slide the door open.

Steam pours out of the small area as your towel drops.

You're gorgeous. Jason is such an idiot for forgetting that.

Your now tied-up braids sit atop your head as to not get wet, as you step in the shower with him.

Before he can speak, your arms wrap around his middle and your face presses into his toned stomach.

His arm instinctively wraps around you while his other takes your jaw and guides it to his soft, awaiting lips.

The kiss hold everything unsaid. No need for 'i miss you' or 'how could you' or 'I love you'.

His hands move down your body to lift you onto his. Jason's starvation had just caught up with him and he's greedy, hands secured under your bum to hold you to him.

Though his hands roam, they aren't lustful. They don't hold any malice or manipulation. Jason is simply appreciating how the water rolls of your soft, dark skin. His fingertips find their home on your skin, and they intend to stay there for a while.

His hands loosen from under you to put you down but a muffled whine makes its way out of the kiss. Jason chuckles fondly, your whines confirming that you're just as desperate to feel him with you.

"It's alright pretty girl, i'm right here. I ain't moving anytime soon" he cooed against your lips as he captured them in another kiss.

You break the kiss just to hold him again. Your feet now on the ground, your arms beginning to find their belonging splayed across his toned back.

"My touch is not finite, darling..." he begins.

"I won't disappear on you, I promise." Jason exhaled.

You know he can't make promises, but as your umber eyes meet his lush green ones, you know you'll find the strength to believe him, one day.

For now, his skin on yours under the hot spray of the shower is enough.

Jason is enough.

Jason will always be enough.

From X-Men: The Wedding Special

I'm a little surprised Pixie got to be a co-protagonist of a Pride story and didn't have her sexuality labelled, but I'm choosing to headcanon her as biromantic asexual after this. She was explicitly bi in the AU story of Secret Wars Runaways and then almost kissed Nico in 616's Runaways and she also fails to read sexual subtext twice in this story and that is a #mood to me.

Also, uh, i don't think there's any aspec rep in the Pride special if this doesn't count, so let me have this plz.

Most bi4bi fantasy books feature implicitly heteroromantic characters. That's just what the numbers say. I could name a dozen books off the top of my head that are marketed as queer, feature a sexually liberated bi female POV, and culminate in an m/f endgame. (If the setting is pseudo-medieval with the main characters being royalty or nobility, this may be connected to the need to continue a bloodline, and that's easier to negotiate with a cis m/f couple, I guess.) However, I can't name a single book with a bi protagonist that doesn't end with m/f. I'm sure they exist but I'd have to dig very deep. I also have a pretty good idea of why there isn't more bi4bi in the m/m romance space, so that's not the space I'm talking about. This is an issue that almost always afflicts books with female protagonists that are hyped as queer but have no market-specific expectations of delivering an m/m or f/f endgame.

A lot of people on here see this discrepancy as natural because it reflects what they like, and they get super insecure when it's identified in any context. I'm biromantic and asking for more diverse rep, including more non-m/f endgames for bi4bi characters. I just want to be pleasantly surprised once in a while. Why so many baseless accusations of biphobia flung my way?

Campaigning for A-spec Province Rep!

Hiya! I'm Kara. I'm an asexual, faesari, quoi and biromantic "girl" who uses the microlabels acevague and berriromantic. I like it when people use umbrella terms when they don't feel comfortable being specific and when people use microlabels (like I do) to help people in the know understand you better.

I've always felt like I wasn't fully a girl, but just ignored it because I thought it was normal (and didn't know about the LGBTQIA+ community). Later I found the term "demigender" and realised it was perfect for me.

I had never wanted or considered putting ANYTHING in my but and I didn't know how to say that because, once again, I thought it was normal. Turns out I'm ace and a-spec and found out that people like me wanted to invade Denmark. When's the invasion even happening?

I know that others have had completely different experiences to mine and I totally get it. Some of you realised your identity early. Others may have no gender at all! And I will try to learn and understand how you all feel. I want to hear what you think should be happening in this province. I love you all (platonically).

I just hope you all trust me in this journey. Thank you.
