Hey Sam!
I recently purchased a second hand bread machine, and I know you like to bake! (I got King Authur's Flour per your recommendation.) I was wondering if you have any recipes or tips and tricks for bread making? I don't have an oven in my apartment so sadly that's not an option for me 😔
Without an oven, a bread machine is a great acquisition! You can often also make rice, oatmeal, and sometimes even yogurt in a bread machine, depending on the model. If the machine didn't come with a manual, try googling for it, or googling the model name and "recipes" to see what else people have done with theirs. It's great you bought KA flour, because materials really do make the difference -- good flour and yeast are key. Freshness can matter with yeast so buy something with a long expiration date, and keep the yeast somewhere cool, dry, and dark.
For bread making, there are two main things I always think about: you are nurturing yeast, which is a living thing, and you're forming gluten (presumably, if you're not cooking gluten-free). The yeast wants to have food and be warm, so you want to use pretty warm water (most machine recipes say something very specific like 115-125F or similar, but it should be warmer than your skin and not so hot it hurts your skin, that's how I measure it). Sugar helps feed yeast, so often there will be sugar or honey in a recipe even if it's not a "sweet" bread. If you're using older yeast, adding a bit more sugar can help it work. Meanwhile, protein helps support gluten formation, so milk or milk powder are common ingredients often listed as optional but which are very helpful. If you have a stove, you can even make milk bread, which is one of the best, fluffiest kinds -- google "hokkaido milk bread" for recipes. Nearly any bread recipe that doesn't have a super long rise or need to be shaped can be made in a bread machine, but often (especially on the King Arthur site) a recipe will include special tips for adjusting it for a machine.
Specifically for bread machines, the bread can stay warm in the pan for a bit, but the longer it cools in the pan the more likely it is to form condensation, which leads to moisture on the surface of the crust in contact with the metal. That dries out pretty quickly if you leave it out for a bit, but moisture reduces the shelf life of homemade bread a LOT (moisture feeds mold). Your best bet is to remove the bread as soon as it's cool enough to handle -- it used to be the hardest part of making machine bread was getting it out of the damn pan, but they may have gotten better since I had one -- and wrap it in a tea towel or leave it out to cool completely before putting it in a package of some kind. I used to keep mine in the fridge because without preservatives it can mold quickly. These days most breads I bake included a few spoonfuls of King Arthur Bread and Cake Enhancer, which is a mild preservative and worth every penny -- it makes the bread softer, with better crumb, and it stays good for longer. There are other brands you can get cheaper on amazon, probably, but I've only ever used KA so I can't speak to their efficacy. It's generally not sold in stores.
Okay, two last things: one, I always put the bread machine on the floor when I was making bread in it, because it rocks back and forth a bit when kneading and I have had machines "walk" off the counter before. The floor or a wide table are best. Two, bread is difficult and even a machine for making it isn't perfect, so you may fail when you first start out. Even if you don't fail the first time, you may not get a good loaf at some point, and that's the nature of yeasted breads. Don't take it personally -- and don't give up! After a while, you start to notice if something seems "off" but it takes time to learn that sense.

Cooking While Disabled
One of the things I miss most about being less disabled is cooking. It was one of my favorite things to do and something I've always been good at.
On good days there are things I can do that make it easier. It's not the same as before, but I hope that sharing what makes it possible for me to cook helps others who struggle with it.
Tips for cooking while disabled:
You can incorporate precooked food in your meals. For example, stir fry with precooked rice with the ingredients of your choice, or taking frozen pasta (like the ones with maybe sauce and a couple other things) or plain microwave pasta (I prefer these, but heat it first) and putting it in a pan adding other ingredients like vegetables, cheese, garlic, etc
If it comes frozen or canned that can really help. Frozen rice you can just microwave, frozen cut veggies and garlic and onions are good as well
Buy a chopper with different shaped blades, spiralizer, electric slicer/grater, food processor, or any appliance that will save you energy. Ideally machine washable. Stand mixers are also better than manual ones. Especially helpful if you have joint/wrist issues
You can always prepare ingredients ahead of time. I find that sometimes it helps to prep (chopping or mixing ingredients, etc) earlier in the day or even a day before. Then you can put it in the fridge or freezer until you're ready to cook the full meal
Look up easy recipes or recipes for elderly/seniors. With the latter you may find more nutritionally balanced food but an unbalanced easy meal is better than none
You can sit while you prepare ingredients.
You're allowed to take breaks. You can turn the stove off, maybe put a lid on it to retain the heat, sit down, maybe take something for your symptoms. Some things you may not be able to stop in the middle of like making pancakes or deep frying something, but if you're making soup or curry or chili or something, often you can turn it off for a bit and take care of yourself.
If you need help and can get it, please ask for help. I know many of us need to work on asking for help including myself. Even if it's just washing the pots and pans or chopping something. You are not a burden you hear me?
Stretch before and after cooking just as one would before a workout. It will likely lessen any joint pain or stiffness as you are still exerting yourself
Listen to your body. Just as you're allowed to take a break, you are allowed to decide you won't be able to finish what you're doing. You may put away your food before it's done (if this won't ruin the meal). You are allowed to leave a dirty pot in the sink and come back to it later (just make sure you or someone else does before it gets gross). You can wash them in the dishwasher. I know this is bad for the seasoning on pots and pans but you can reseason them to be nonstick again and use nonstick spray
You can buy seasoning mixes rather than using individual seasoning. Instead of parsley, oregano, basil, etc you can buy Italian seasoning. Instead of paprika, pepper, cumin, oregano, salt, etc, you can just get taco seasoning. This may sound obvious but it can save a lot of time and energy
An issue I have is buying perishable ingredients thinking I can use them, having a bad week or two, and the ingredients have gone bad. Try to plan out your meals before shopping and ask yourself if there's an easier alternative for any ingredients. Maybe pre chopped fresh onion instead of a whole one, sliced mushrooms instead of whole, frozen vegetable blends instead of individual, powdered ginger instead of the root, bullion instead of stock that you may not be able to use all at once. I know this is like one of the other points but these are what I find most helpful
Use supercook.com! You input the ingredients you have on hand and you'll get a list of recipes you can make with what you have. Often there's a wide range of complexity and difficulty
Make enough food to freeze or refrigerate leftovers. It helps if you can portion it into single servings in Tupperware or freezer bags. You can prepare frozen burritos for your next few lunches or dinners, separate portion sizes of spaghetti, portion salads, etc

Easy Money Bowl/Jar
I have tried multiple different types of Money bowls and jars, from various different videos on Youtube or posts on insta or tumblr and a few of them have worked out for me, but not fully. I then had decided to try and make my own with the knowledge I got from those videos/posts I watched and it works well enough.
Get a jar/bow. I've used old small dishes that my family doesn't use anymore, and I am currently using an old instant coffee jar. It can be a plastic bowl or a jar as well, use what you have.
Cleanse it. You can use incense, moon water to spray the insides and wipe it with a clean cloth, any way you cleanse really. While you cleanse, visualize and charge it with your money intention. For me my intentions are so that I can treat myself to a restaurant or simple outings with friends. The money will vary with intention.
Add a simple base. I'm using rice, I saw a video where someone used Quinoa.
Then I put cinnamon, it can be powder or sticks, anything.
Then add some salt (table salt, pink himalayan salt, sea salt, any salt darling)
Then i put coffee. It can be those you put in a french press/machine, it can be instant coffee (even the ones with the milk solids or whatever it's called) or even coffee beans if you have them.
Then finally add some money. I add coins, since I'm from India, I put Ten and five rupee coins and probably 50 rupees in. And then I close it (because mine is a jar rn)
If yours is a bowl, I've had money come in when I light incense in it or if I put fresh incense ash in it. Also I used to put chips of Clear Quartz in it, but I lost quite a few so I don't anymore.
Keep the bowl/jar in your altar or a part where you can see it everyday. Light a candle beside it or place a crystal on top to charge the bowl/jar. Add some more coins or cleanse it every Thursday as (i think) it's the best day to manifest money.

The fire crackles merrily in the little home they’ve made for themselves in the funeral house. A-Qing sits a couple of feet away, playing intently with two stones on the ground, completely giving herself away. Xiao Xingchen sits opposite to him tending to the fire, as immaculate as ever even without washing away the grime of the day away. Meanwhile, Xue Yang is losing his mind.
The mastermind that is Xue Yang has been completely, irrevocably stumped by a blind, stuck-up cultivator who simply would not fall into his machinations. Xiao Xingchen, the man in question, just wouldn’t murder people accidentally. As a part of Xue Yang’s plan and all.
It started two weeks ago, when Xue Yang went into a quarter-life crisis about the lovey-dovey life that him, his enemy, and that little blind brat were leading. It didn’t come as a surprise to him that a year of a domestic, candy-filled lifestyle would bore him and vengeance would come back to him with, well, vengeance. One can say it started a year ago, when Xiao Xingchen saved him. One also can say it started half a decade ago, when they properly ran into each other for the first time. Maybe it all started the day he was born; maybe he was fated to be saved and destroyed this man. Gosh, the things a sweet life makes you think!
It went this way:
Xue Yang sat next to Xiao Xingchen on a sunny day, on the little stumps of wood they called chairs. He had only finished regaling his companion with the tragedy of his childhood (pain, suffering, etc.), and now sat lighter than he had ever in his lifetime. The birds were chirping, and the sun felt nice on his skin, in a way he hadn’t thought about before.
He was thinking of words to speak, when the thoughts of his life entered his mind and reminded him of why he hated this world. Immediately, his mood soured, and he remembered why destruction came the easiest to him. He’s been keeping corpse powder close to himself, ever since this new life began. The habits of a lifetime do not vacate one so easily.
“Daozhang, say, won’t you take me to a night-hunt?”
As he watched Xiao Xingchen think of words to say, his heart crowed in premature victory. It felt like pai—
“No.”
“No?”
“No.”
And thus, the dismantling of the genius and mastermind that is Xue Yang began.

The second time it went in a similar manner, although stunning Xue Yang in an entirely novel way.
“Daozhang! A walking corpse!” Xue Yang yelled, and ran to cow behind Xiao Xingchen. He had made sure to douse it in corpse powder and cut the man’s tongue out. Coincidentally, this was the man who always tried to scam Xiao Xingchen for his blindness. That had nothing to do with why Xue Yang chose him.
Xue Yang, from where he stood, could hear the hum of his sword activating and seeking a target. Perfect! However, Xiao Xingchen said: “It’s not hopping. It could be a person.”
Damn. So, Xiao Xingchen took him by the hand and dragged him back inside, ushering Xue Yang behind him. He stood protectively at the gate, sword out, back tense: a handsome saviour. Xue Yang, dazzled as he was, couldn’t summon his anger when the man he had disguised as a corpse realised what was best for him, and consequently turned to go back to his own house. Xiao Xingchen waited until his footsteps faded, and turned to Xue Yang standing at his back.
“Didi,” he said, and smiled, “you worry too much”. His dimples were showing.
Xue Yang started hyperventilating; no one had ever called him that before. Two hands reached out for his cheeks, and pulled them apart. Xue Yang stood there, and let himself be handled like a sweet rice cake. He forgets all about corpses and power and revenge. He spends the rest of the day in a daze, touching his cheeks where no one could see (i.e. everywhere). No one had ever done that to him before.

The next part of the plan required a bit of acting; not that Xue Yang wasn’t up to it. They had just returned from buying their weekly vegetables (Xiao Xingchen did the buying while Xue Yang took the old woman to a shady alleyway and doused her in corpse powder). Xiao Xingchen stood around the gate of their humble establishment, while Xue Yang pretended to go and relieve himself. Instead of peeing, Xue Yang dragged the woman to the empty area in front of his cultivator friend, and shook her by her shoulders, trying to make as much noise as possible. Xiao Xingchen perked up at the sounds of a scuffle. Too lazy to drag another person as a prop, Xue Yang yelled:
“Walking corpse! It’s attacking him!”
Xiao Xingchen gripped the handle of his sword; the look of alertness on his face is what convinced Xue Yang that this might work. The next moment, however, the he turned and walked straight inside.
What?
In a last-ditch effort, he dragged the little blind brat, who was also just standing around (really, do they have nothing to do?), to the not-corpse and yelled again:
“It’s attacking… A-Qiu. A-Qing! A-Qing! It’s attacking A-Qing!”
A-Qing, as suspected, looks at the not-corpse and starts running, leaving behind the cane and looking straight ahead with wide eyes. Today is the day for surprises.
Xue Yang stood there confusedly until Xiao Xingchen came back out with a jar of vinegar, which he unceremoniously dumped on the corpse and A-Qing. Xue Yang hurriedly gets out of the way, and watched as Xiao Xingchen subtly puffed himself out in a way only he can, as if he’s done something reasonable and noble and not just fucking insane.
“Solved! Now let’s go tell everyone!”
Xue Yang groaned. He follows Xiao Xingchen anyway.

After going round town and telling every single person to throw vinegar at corpses, Xue Yang is defeated and deflated; now he can’t just wait for the corpse poisoning to work. Damn Xiao Xingchen and his inability to jump to sword-fighting at slightest inconvenience. The time Xue Yang had spent with the Jins had convincingly taught him otherwise.
The people had been pissing themselves at the sight of Xue Yang standing menacingly outside of their door, but he found them reaching for vinegar and sticky rice anyways. He even found his first victim, the Annoying Vegetable Dude, sticking upside down out of a ditch smelling of vinegar on their way back. It was confusing, since its not like Xue Yang made him blind.
Anyway, that’s what happened. The whole unabridged version. Now, they are sitting by the fire, as is their communal post-dinner ritual (it made Xue Yang so mad. They had schedules now). Xue Yang is trying and failing to seethe, and simultaneously losing his mind. Throughout their time in this .excitingly creepy village, Xue Yang had only spoken words that came the hardest to him, to make sure he doesn’t oust himself. Now, however, words tumble out of his mouth.
“Why didn’t you stab the corpse? I heard your sword humming.”
“You have a keen ear, didi,” says Xiao Xingchen. “I… don’t believe in using my sword when I cannot even look at my enemy.” His cheeks shine in the firelight. “Even while my sword tells me things, it is better to simply find other ways; not because I don’t trust it or you, but because I trust myself enough to be better.”
 How very noble. Xue Yang couldn’t bring himself to hate him for it.

In a last-ditch effort, he throws corpse powder at the Annoying Vegetable Dude again and drags him to where Xiao Xingchen is standing around, again waiting on Xue Yang to relieve himself. Really, he needs better excuses.
“Daozhang! A walking corpse!” Xue Yang screams while running, for effect.
“There are way too many of those around these days. Come here, didi.”
Xue Yang pointedly starts running away from him.
“Nooooooo! Daozhang! It is coming after me!” It is not; the Annoying Vegetable Dude simply stands there as if he’s a part of the world’s most boring theatre show.
Xue Yang is halted in his pretend-headless-chickening by having his hand grabbed and being unceremoniously yanked towards the funeral house. Apparently, while Xue Yang was out performing his best, Xiao Xingchen had crossed over to him. He hadn’t even lost his breath. It was unfair how unruffled he was.
Once inside, Xiao Xingchen turns to Xue Yang and whispers in his ears, “Hold your breath, didi.” His voice is low and rough, and Xue Yang feels a strange urge to melt into the ground. “Let’s hide.”
They crouch behind a wheelbarrow, crunched together due to the lack of space. Xiao Xingchen is still holding his hand, warm and tight, from where he sits next to him. Xue Yang whimpers, which prompts Xiao Xingchen to turn towards him and hum. “Don’t be scared,” he says, seriously misunderstanding Xue Yang’s problem with the whole situation, and leans impossibly close, “if it really comes to bother you, I’ll kill it.”
Xue Yang feels he has died and come back. He can’t even feel happy about the fact he can carry out his evil mastermind plan; in that moment, he gives up on all the ways he could torture Xiao Xingchen if only he would call him “didi” and whisper in his ear. His head is frighteningly empty, and as they sit together and wait for the Annoying Vegetable Dude to wander off again, he starts whispering.
For once, his stories come the easiest to him. And like always, Xiao Xingchen turns towards him to listen, like a flower blooming in the sun.

here it is :-) it's from a 1998 issue of bon appétit magazine but i found it on wayback machine one day bc well. i was looking for recipes from 2001 on wayback machine (normal behavior)
some notes:
i found that 7 tablespoons of wasabi powder is actually best to get the right consistency for the sauce. it sounds like A Lot but there's so much liquid in it it balances out :') this is the unreasonably huge thing of wasabi powder i have, which appears to be unavailable atm but i'm sure there's something similar out there lmao
i add like 3/4 tablespoon of honey to the sauce before cooking
i use safflower oil instead of peanut oil but that's mainly bc my dad bought massive quantities of safflower oil for some reason and that was what we had so. do what u want
i put alllllllllll the sauce in the pan to cook w the tuna after flipping the tuna the first time
i've never tried the whole cucumber/radish sprout thing tbh but whatever
i like it w wild rice and asparagus for sides >:-)
let me know if u try it!!! it is my favorite thing ever and it's super flavorful
oh also have this one (for halibut) as well which i found at the same time!! i've only tried it once but it was rlly good and not nearly as difficult as they made it sound lmao

Functionality
These mods are not technically in the build but are needed to have mods (syboulette's crossfit and aira's rice cooker specifically) functional.

Vehicles
Technically, the two vehicles used for this build use the the Breeze Motors 2018 Mercedes E-Class Wagon and the 2020 Maserati Quattroporte as their base. I won't link to the download page as its a perma-paywaller and I fundamentally disagree with how Breeze Motors is handling their patreon personally. I will leave it to you to decide if you want their CC and how you acquire it if you choose to do so.
For my personal game, I have edited and stripped down my copies of these two cars and modified them so that they work with Simnation Travel. I have a pinned patreon post that is not paywall locked here explaining that more in depth and include the required files HERE.

I should note that in addition to lacking the door open /close options of the original as those were stripped down, the textures were redone with simlish for a more maxis match look in game.
Mods for this Build
These are not technically required for the build to function but this build was built using overrides for both Sim Realist's SNB Bills mod as well as Simnation Travel vehicles. You shouldn't get any weird errors if you load the build in without those mods but if there's an exception caught by MCC related to that, it's probably just reconciling that the override the lot was built with is not in place in your game. It should only be a one time alert the first time the game loads in if it happens and should not cause any issue other than MCC making a noise at you about it noticing weirdness.
(The SNB provides the High Speed Internet trait to the lot and I think it will just set that trait to empty if its loaded without but I haven't personally confirmed it, hence the note here. ) Additional Note
I'm pushing this to live today just to make sure it hits my tumblr the same time as I pushed the build to my gallery but I will be going back to add links into the list. There are just a LOT to track down and it might take me a day or two to finish that part.

Jasmine's Next supply Drop
She can't fix everything Maverick is worried about, but she can at least try to ease her burden

10 crates of assorted nuts, seeds, jerkeys, rice, and other easily-stored nonperishable.
10,000 pounds of flour (100 100-lb bags)

50 cameras with solar-powered chargers
Supplies and instructions to build ~20 medium hydropower generators, promises to send more if the generators work
200 fuel cubes for starting fires and 100 books of matches
Several very thick books (all copies of the same book) written by Aladdin, giving them advice for doing their distribution covertly and escaping when things go south.
Several books from Kuzco about creating irrigation canals and long-standing roads
Several books on creating and maintaining a hydroponics system, as well as 25 bags of uncursed soil and several dozen packets of seeds
A book of sigils, circles, and runes from Adam Constantine, and how to use each one to protect possible distribution centres from unwanted company
While there's not much that can be done about the guards, they gave Maverick a small book of tricks to keep fae like Maleficent or Twisted Neverfay contained in a certain area
4 large church bells blessed by a Catholic priest (he was absolutely delighted to be part of inconveniencing Maleficent, as he's been a victim of that hundred-year sleep,) as well as 8 small-ish ones
A couple dozen books on creating infrastructure (sewers, plumbing, electric grid, bridges, roads, telecommunication, water supply, etc.) They're hard to build now but it's better they already know what they're doing before they actually have to, as Maverick and the others pretty stubbornly insist on staying on the Isle after everything and seeing if they can make it work without be constantly sabotaged
Some tips on how to figure out what was wrong with their water supplies (rivers, lakes, etc,) so that Jasmine could start working with them to clean up the pollution in their water.
Veterinary rabies vaccines, five samples for every animal that can be vaccinated for rabies
Maverick is still preparing for a worst case scenario ("I expect the worst, so I prepare for the worst, so when the worst happens, I'm ready" and all that,) but she thinks, at the very least, these supplies and books can help them put it off or at least slow how rapidly it progresses. Jasmine is also considering sending livestock but, considering how nervous Maverick got about the idea (one of the cows had tried to attack Mordred and she is traumatized,) decided to put it off for a while to give the Isle time to recover from the idea of rabid cows.
And she's doubling, tripling, her efforts to get at least civilians off of the Isle. She can't take too many at once, knowing she would run the risk of collapsing the new systems she'd put in place, but she's trying. They're getting the children off first, because they're the ones who will be hit hardest by malnutrition and starvation, but the adults will follow as quickly as possible. Hopefully, by the time Beast realizes people are disappearing from the Isle at an alarming rate, they'll have at least gotten a half of the Isle's population evacuated. That'll make the lack of supplies easier on those who remain.
They're putting major plans in place to prevent or at least improve the future Maverick saw. And Jasmine is already drawing up plans for how she's going to make this all legal.

I'm still going to procrastinate talking about ACEs. Though it's not because I'm too terribly frightened of writing about it at this moment; I have a vague plan about where I wanna start. No, today I'm procrastinating because Br is visiting my house for today!!! And this is the greatest thing ever all by itself, but!!! She brought over a thing called "Cream of Rice"!!

It is basically a box full of rice that has been ground into a fine powder, with vitamins and minerals added. I had never seen anything like it before!
Br prepared the cream of rice on the stovetop in my trusty wok with milk, salt, and butter! Then we put almond butter, blueberries, and sliced bananas in it! And I gotta say, the resulting stuff was SO AWESOME that we ate it all up before I even thought to take a picture for you. I'm sorry. I'll work on that.
At my house, we tend to get giant 50-pound (22.5-ish kilograms) bags of medium-grain rice (it's almost, but not quite like short-grain rice, which is the typical rice in Japan), which has a different texture and consistency than the typical rice that is available in the United States; I assume if I grind up this rice into a fine powder, it will have a slightly different consistency than the ground rice in the box.

…Oh right. You probably have no idea what my world looks like, so words like "United States" and "Japan" likely mean nothing to you. That probably doesn't seem very fair, given that I know very well what yours looks like by now. Here, let's fix that; you can use this to see how my planet is shaped:

…Unless your planet is comprised mostly of massive, giant oceans, I think your planet must be a lot smaller than mine. It seems likely that this would also mean that your gravity is weaker than ours. And since your planet still has stunning sunsets (despite the fact that your atmosphere is probably a lot smaller, if your planet is smaller, which means the light gets bent/filtered less), I assume your atmosphere must be a bit more dense than ours, too. And these factors combined might explain why you all can have such crazy-looking flying machines that would absolutely not be possible in my world. But I digress…
Anyway! So sometimes I like to make rice pudding in my handy-dandy rice cooker with regular ol' medium-grain rice; it's got a stickier consistency than the usual rice that's available here, which makes for AMAZING pudding! But with this new "discovery" (haha!) of powdered rice and knowing full well of its deliciousness, my mind filled with ALL SORTS OF POSSIBILITIES, oh my goodness!!
…So I took my medium-grain rice and used my handy-dandy spice grinder (got it as a prize at an old job I had!) to grind it into very fine powder! Here…

So then, I went and measured out two cups of the rice powder with my handy-dandy rice cup!

Then I filled the rice cooker with milk, up until the "2" line for white rice. After that, it's 1 tbsp of butter for each cup of rice! Easy peasy!

Once the rice is done cooking, you're supposed to add heavy cream and sugar - 2 cups of heavy cream and half a cup of sugar, in any case. But… well… it got weird:

It seems like the increased surface area of the rice, combined with the sticker consistency of short-grain rice, yielded a kind of… weird sort of rice cake? I broke it into pieces, but it's still pretty clumpy. It's not ready for sugar and heavy cream yet. After tasting some of it, it was pretty good, but I concluded that it was still a bit undercooked. So I added a bit more milk (I didn't measure; sorry...) and stirred it until it stopped being absorbed, and then added a little more milk after that, and I am putting the heat on it again as I'm writing this; hopefully that should soften any remaining clumps, but we'll see! I've never worked with powdered rice before, and I have no idea what to expect! Kitchen adventures! Now we wait for the rice cooker to beep!
That said, I am wondering if the nature of powdered rice makes it necessary to stir it continuously while cooking so that it doesn't clump like this. I imagine a wok and a whisk might be the thing to do for future iterations of "Cream of Rice Pudding". Also, Br brought some masala chai teabags in addition to the cream of rice, so I wonder what it would be like to cook the powdered rice with brewed masala chai and a little bit of honey instead of just milk or just water. I'm eager to find out!!! But not today! Next time!
...Okay! So the rice cooker beeped and is done, so I stepped away from writing to check it out, and!! Oh!! It turned out REALLY WELL. So I added the cream and sugar, and this was the result:

So, I think due to chemistry, physics, and surface area, next time I'll need to fill the rice cooker to the 3 line, or maybe even to the 4 line, for 2 rice cups full of powdered rice. From there, it's business as usual - 2 cups of heavy cream and half a cup of sugar. At Br's suggestion, I sprinkled in just a pinch of pink salt into my bowl (pink salt has iron in it!), and the result was EVEN BETTER. I wanna eat another bowl because it was THAT GOOD, but I know that if I do, I'm gonna end up feeling sick, so I'll make use of my impulse control skills and delayed gratification skills instead, even though that's really hard.
It's very tasty and VERY filling; I wish that I could give you a bowl of it. The fact that I cannot give you bowls filled with delicious things continues to be a source of very real grief for me. But it is what it is. I can only hope that my intentions reach you somehow, and that through this you can learn about all the awesome snacks and make them for yourself someday, as impossible as that probably is...
Well. My being here to begin with seemed like an impossibility at one point. So maybe I'll try to keep an open mind. Maybe I'll imagine that all these wonderful flavors and all these wholesome feelings can reach you and move you, somehow...

middle = coin purse that i found by the sidewalk. it was empty so i brought it home and may use it to hold money in my backpack
bottom = cute cat / temperature was in low 50s and super breezy so she was keeping out of the wind

Today I have Made Soup again and this time it’s one of my favorite recipes which I’ve discovered is only available on the Wayback machine.  So I’m gonna repost it here for posterity.
Tex Mex Chicken and Rice Soup

Ingredients:
3 tablespoons olive oil
divided coarse salt and fresh black pepper
1 pound boneless chicken breasts, cut into small cubes
1 small onion, diced
1 red or green bell pepper, diced
1/2 cup finely chopped black olives
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 + 1/2 teaspoons chili powder
1 teaspoon dried oregano(preferably Mexican), crushed between fingertips
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1/2 cup uncooked long or medium-grain white rice, rinsed well in a wire strainer with cold water
5 cups low-sodium chicken broth
1 cup salsa
2/3 cup fresh or frozen corn
for serving:
fresh chopped cilantro
lime wedges
shredded sharp cheddar cheese
sour cream
tortilla chips
Instructions
In a large soup pot heat 1 tablespoon of oil over medium heat. Season the chicken well and cook, stirring often so all sides get browned. Remove to a dish and set aside.
Add 2 tablespoons of oil to the pot over medium-low heat and saute the onion, pepper, garlic and olives together 5 minutes, season well with salt and pepper and stir often.
Mix in the chile powder, oregano, thyme and rice, cook 3 minutes.
Stir the chicken back into the pot and add the broth, salsa and corn. Bring to a simmer and cook 30 minutes. Stir and taste often - seasoning as needed.
Serve with toppings like cilantro, cheese, sour cream, lime and tortilla chips if desired.
This soup is really adaptable.  I usually make it with leftover chicken or turkey (like right now) rather than from raw.  The veggies also can be subbed for whatever you have/like. (I like adding chopped zucchini in the later half of cooking to replicate this one soup from a restaurant I love.)  I added black beans this time cause forgot to get corn and also don’t have a lot of leftover turkey.  You can also use fresh herbs if you have them/prefer.
