How to Choose India's Top Manufacturers of Robotic Welding Machines
The modern industrial environment demands automation, efficiency, and precision more than ever. Robotic welding robots, which offer unmatched accuracy and speed in welding processes, have completely changed the manufacturing industry. Selecting the best robotic welding machine manufacturers in India is essential for companies trying to stay competitive. The most important things to take into account when choosing the ideal manufacturer for your requirements are covered in this article.
Tumblr media
Recognizing the Value of Robotic Welding
Modern production relies heavily on robotic welding equipment, especially in industries like heavy machinery, aerospace, and automotive. By automating tedious operations, these devices improve worker safety, provide uniform weld quality, and cut down on material waste. The number of firms providing robotic welding solutions is growing along with the demand for these products. But not every manufacturer offers the same caliber of innovation, service, and quality.
Important Things to Think About When Selecting a Manufacturer
1. Credibility and Background
A manufacturer's experience and reputation are important determinants of its dependability. Reputable manufacturers with a track record of success are more likely to offer dependable after-sales support and top-notch equipment. Examine case studies, testimonials, and reviews from customers to determine the manufacturer's reputation in the market.
For example, Weldarc India has established a strong name in the Indian market thanks to its state-of-the-art fiber laser cutting machines. With years of experience and a wide range of products, companies like these frequently have the know-how to customize robotic welding systems to meet the demands of particular industries.
2. Innovation in Technology
With ongoing developments in automation, artificial intelligence, and precision welding methods, the field of robotic welding is expanding quickly. Research and development (R&D)-focused manufacturers are more likely to present creative solutions that can boost your manufacturing efficiency.
Seek out suppliers of robotic welding equipment with the newest technology available, such as real-time monitoring, adaptive control systems, and smooth connection with other automation systems. This technical advantage may completely alter the way that businesses compete in the marketplace.
3. Customization Abilities
When it comes to welding operations, every business has different needs. A one-size-fits-all strategy might not work. Prominent producers provide customization choices so that robotic welding robots can be customized to meet certain requirements. Modifiable features like software integration, specific welding heads, and machine size adjustments guarantee that the machine will work flawlessly as part of your production line.
Weldarc India, for instance, demonstrates their capacity to meet a variety of industrial needs by not only manufacturing fiber laser cutting machines but also providing a range of welding goods. It is important to have this flexibility when choosing a manufacturer.
4. After-Sale Assistance and Maintenance
Investing heavily in a robotic welding system requires constant support to keep it operating properly. Take into account the post-purchase services offered by the manufacturer, such as installation, training, upkeep, and repair. Reducing downtime and sustaining productivity can be greatly aided by having a readily available supply of spare parts and a customer support team that responds quickly.
It is better to engage with manufacturers who have a significant presence in India, such as those who provide extensive service networks. This local presence guarantees that you won't have to wait a long time to receive the assistance you require.
5. Economy of Cost
Even if it plays a big role, cost shouldn't be the only thing taken into account. Sometimes the best value isn't necessarily found in the cheapest alternative. Rather, concentrate on the machine's total cost-effectiveness, taking into account aspects like durability, energy efficiency, and the possibility of long-term savings through lower maintenance and higher output.
Examine the total cost of ownership for various manufacturers, accounting for the machine's anticipated lifespan, running expenses, and original investment. If a somewhat greater initial cost results in cheaper operating costs and a longer equipment life, then it might be justified.
6. Adherence to Industry Standards
Robotic welding equipment has to abide by strict industry norms and guidelines, especially when it comes to quality and safety. Verify that the manufacturer satisfies all applicable regulatory standards, including ISO certifications. This compliance protects the safety of your operations in addition to the machine's quality.
Long-term investment protection is ensured by manufacturers who adhere to the most recent industry standards and are more likely to produce machines that satisfy present and future regulatory needs.

Prominent producers such as Weldarc India provide a complete solution for your production demands by offering both robotic welding systems and fiber laser cutting machines. Higher precision and efficiency may be achieved by combining these technologies, thus it's critical to take into account suppliers who have experience in both fields.
In summary
Selecting the best robotic welding machine manufacturer in India necessitates carefully weighing several criteria, including reputation, cost-effectiveness, industry standards compliance, technical innovation, customization possibilities, and after-sales support. Manufacturers with experience in cutting and welding technologies, such as Weldarc India, provide a dependable choice for companies wishing to improve their manufacturing capacities.
You can be sure that the manufacturer you choose will not only satisfy your present requirements but also foster your future expansion and creativity in the cutthroat manufacturing market by concentrating on these important factors.

With robots, software, and automation, welding isn’t what it used to be
At its most basic, welding’s job in fabricating is to join two pieces of metal. It seems simple but things get complicated pretty quickly in welding. It takes a trainee a while to find the right speed, the right feed, accuracy in the weld line, amount of fill if that’s part of the job—there are probably 20 things to manage during a weld.
The ability to weld is a highly sought-after skill, and people who can do it well are well-paid. The demographics of welders, however, shows that many of them are getting to retirement age, and not enough young welders are emerging to take their place. As with many things in metal fabricating—really, in general manufacturing—automation is invoked as the answer to short supplies of qualified people.
Trumpf’s automatic weld path
Machine tool giant Trumpf released a product that takes care of itself, mostly. It is a robotic welding system uses sensors to program its own weld path. The robot uses the company’s new smart seam-tracking technology, which was developed with Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation IPA. The sensor automatically calculated the weld path for each part. The sensor is located in the welding torch head.
Instead of programming a new weld spot into the software for each change of direction, the user places the robot in the start position, and the technology takes care of the rest. The robot’s sensor determines the weld path automatically. Software calculates the weld spots and creates the program. It all takes a matter of seconds.
This capability will be in all new Trumpf TruArc Weld 1000 products, and can be retrofit into existing robot welders of the same model.
Laser welding advancements
Another titan of machine tools, AMADA, has offered a laser welding robot for a number of years. They offer the Fiber Laser Welder 3000 ENSIS, a complete welding system designed to use minimal heat on the weld zone to improve productivity and weld quality.
It boasts a rotating lense, which means the laser beam is not aligned with a particular point along the target path. The beam circles in a small area as the system does its work. The rotating lens improves filler feeding and aluminum welding. Larger and uneven gap sizes can be bridged in a clean, even weld. The amount of heat input into the material while welding optimizes and improves edge definition.
The unit also comes with a Variable Beam Control unit. It automatically adjusts the beam’s properties to process a wide range of thicknesses. The unit’s power is 3 kW, all generated by a single laser module. This reduces power consumption and negates the need for a combiner for several modules. Any deviations from the actual weld path can be adjusted accurately by utilizing the Teaching Assist System (TAS) on the system’s control. Using a CCD camera, new target points are selected to instantly teach the welding robot the correct target path.
Here come the robots, to a welding shop near you.

A Jedi in Arrakis (Paul Atreides x Reader)
Tumblr media
Summary: While on the run from Empire troops, Jedi padawan Y/N comes to find out that hyper-driving in a compromised craft can have some major setbacks when she discovers not only is on a new planet but a whole new galaxy as well...
Warnings: jedi!reader, eventual 18+, NSFW, angst, fluff, eventual smut/pinv!sex, oral sex, talks of questioning the Force and teachings, more to come as story progresses
A/N: Like Ahsoka, I left Reader to have white, which means they are neutral and I feel Anakin would have taught any other padawans to be neutral when it came to the Force. The type of lightsaber Reader has for any photo reference is the same type Darth Maul has!

Part II
Tumblr media
She had e/c eyes that looked at him softly as she laid beside him; the white silk she wore over her body showing the curves she possessed as she reached a hand out and caressed his cheek.
"Paul", she softly said, her skin tanned and soft.
Her hair fell around her and framed her face as she blinked.
"Paul..."
Her voice lulled him before he heard a humming, a buzz of electricity coming to light before a white light took over, shielding him from her...
🪐
In a galaxy far, far away...
Hands gripping the steering wheel of her craft, Y/N looked at the controls to see if hyperdrive was even possible and saw that it was not yet as she dodged another Imperial craft shooting at her.
"BB, you better hold onto your metal butt", she called out to her robotic companion.
BB-1 was a BB prototype similar to the R2-D2 design with the little robot being circular and having a teal color scheme; she heard the little robot let out a squeak as it rolled to secure itself to something.
Y/N hadn't thought of the Empire being on Dantooine but she thought wrong; she had been sent there by her Jedi Master, Anakin while Ahsoka (her fellow padawan/classmate) was sent to assist in the Clone Wars on the field. This intel was supposed to be useful to the Rebellion against the Clone War and Y/N knew if she was captured, that could only result in terrible things.
"BB", she said as she dodged a meteor in their path. "Connect to the database and upload what we got then delete everything."
BB let out a little beep followed by a whirling noise before getting to the task as she saw the Storm Troopers still on their path.
It was an agonizing five minutes of waiting for BB to upload the data, hearing an excited beep from BB as she had just winced as their craft was hit with another beam from the Storm Trooper craft just as she saw that hyperdrive was possible as the system alerted her of all the damage.
"Alright, BB!" she said, looking over her shoulder. "Now really hold on to your metal butt! It's going to be bumpy!"
BB let out a whirl of noises just as she hit the button for hyperdrive...
Tumblr media
Her head was pounding as heard BB's concerned noises before she heard the beeping of the ship and opening her eyes with a gasp and looking around, it all rushing back to her of the system failure during hyperdrive, her trying to navigate as they were descending fast onto an unknown planet.
"Hold on, BB", she said, "let me... let me grab my-"
She grasped at her side where her lightsaber was clipped as she un-clipped herself from her seat, standing up as she winced from the headache; BB came towards her and beeped, Y/N patted its round little head as she went to the door of the ship, hitting the button to open it but saw wouldn't budge.
With a sigh, Y/N went to where her supplies pouch was and making sure she had plenty of water and food before activating her lightstaber, its white energy glowing as she stuck it into the metal of the door, doing her best of welding it open.
And with success she did as she managed to budge the door open to show a endless desert with hot air that hit her in the face; it reminded her of Tatooine with its similar landscape except she would say Tatooine had more rocky structures than this place.
"Where are we, BB?" she voiced as she stepped out.
The sun was hot against beige tunic and she frowned under the force of the heat, looking at BB before putting her hands on her hips.
"I guess let's do some exploring, huh?"
🪐
It was hard walking through all the sand, making sure she didn't stumble as she walked. And it was pretty boring considering there was just sand and oh, more damn sand; she wondered why it looked like the sand glittered at some points as her and BB continued their journey before her eyes widened at the sight of a large machine that reminded her of AT-AT Walkers except this one was larger in width and was... digging into the sand?
Either way, that had to mean that people were around as she began to jog towards there considering that it was so close.
BB rolled easily over the sand as they heard the sound of aircrafts and looking up, she saw two that resembled a bug, a dragonfly really. It hovered in the air as if it was looking over the machine and she squinted as she looked before beginning to feel the ground begin to shake violently to the point that she was knocked over.
Looking around, her first thought was a Nightwatcher worm and she looked at the machine as she begun to run with BB following closely; she held her lightstaber in her hand, her pouch bouncing as she ran with all her might to the machine.
Tumblr media
Paul watched as the dust cloud grew as the sandworm quickly approached the Harvester, his father arguing that it was better to save the men on the Harvester than prioritize the Spice.
"Forget the Spice, we need those men", Leto argued and Paul's eyes squinted as he saw two figures running towards the Harvester.
"Look there", Paul pointed, his father leaned and looked.
"It's a girl and a... robot?" he said.
A.I. and anything of that nature had been banned in the Empire since the great war against A.I. so many centuries ago so it was curious as to who this was.
"How many men are on that?" his father asked.
"21", Shadout responded. "23 with the girl and the robot."
"We can only carry 6 on each ship", Paul mentioned.
"We'll make it work", his father confidently said.
🏜️
She was right that machine would draw in people as it was being evacuated as the sandworm was coming closer. BB was squealing as the sandworm was hot on their trail before she panted, "Go, BB! I'll hold it off!"
BB squealed and she said, "Go! I'll be there too!"
Turning around, she panted as she sucked in a breath and held her hand out, focusing her mind on the Force and its power as the creature closer. She felt vindicated as she saw the creature hit a invisible wall, panting and sweating as she held back the creature, the heat exhaustion getting to her as she tried her best to keep the creature back as black began to spot into her vision.
Suddenly, a hand gripped her shoulder and she looked to find two men: one around her age with handsome, pale features and dark curled hair, and an older man with greying hair.
"Come on, follow us", the older man said, she nodded.
With a final push of the Force, she ran behind the men onto one of the ships, stumbling but gleefully cheering once she saw BB there, who twirled in happiness and squealed.
"BB", she said, the robot rolling to her and she hugged it. "I told you I'd make it."
BB let out noises and she laughed.
"You understand that?" a man asked.
"Don't you?" she asked as she stood. "Where am I?"
"You're on Arrakis", a older man with thick dark hair and a facial beard said. "I'm Duke Leto of House Arrakis and this is my son, Paul. Do you mind telling me where you're from?"
"Arrakis? I've never heard of it", she mumbled, "I'm Y/N L/N from Naboo. What star system is this?"
"Canopus", Leto said and Y/N's eyes widened. "Where is this Naboo? I've never heard of such a planet in the Empire?"
Y/N now realized where she was as BB let out a concern noise. They weren't just in an entirely different solar system, they were in an entirely different galaxy...

Who would ever say to be a human amongst killing machines would, impressively, be a dreadly task? Or deadly, you would remark to yourself after a long walk of dragging your wounded body through the corridors from the training field to Ramattra’s personal workshop. At least, those new assassin omnics would perform their duties impeccably, you could tell from the way they cut through your skin without a single issue.
The wound was still covered under the thin layer of the tank top you have on, the white fabric damp of crimson blood denouncing something went terribly wrong, not to mention the pained expression contorting your face.
As soon as he eyes your state, if Ramattra could bring a worried expression to the surface of his faceplate, he would, a mirror to the torment running through his systems. He was an engineer, not a human healer, but you needed him to act more as such in the present moment if you’re both willing for you to stay alive, which you indeed were.
Growing impatient, not to mention the pain reaching under your skin, you adjust yourself slowly on top of his workbench, holding your side to prevent any further damage. Your fingers get moist with blood, and that has your lips twitching. “Can you fix me or not?”
“That depends on your meaning of fixing,” he states, a stoic demeanor on the outside despite feeling quite the opposite inside. Feeling. Something he didn’t think to be inclined to, at least not when those diverged from the violence he was shaped to perform as a being… and yet, here they are, as foreign to him as the surgical aspects of flesh and bone. “I can’t weld you, obviously. At least, not as a first resource,” his slight humor brings a faint smirk to your lips, slowly shaking your head in a quiet response. In a lighter tone, Ramattra proceeds, and now it’s definitely a command. “I would like to have a closer look.”
Quietness follows, not as fast as the warmth spreading from your neck to the tip of your ears. To say you hadn’t considered you’d need to remove your shirt was unnecessary, in front of him of all people, ‘cause you’d rather overcome your own fear of blood if a second thought had you aware of the chances before. But as the old saying remarked: if you are in hell already, just go and sit on the goddamn devil’s lap.
Proceeding a thick swallow, you do as you’re told, diverting your eyes to a corner to avoid examining the cut yourself, or to avert them from Ramattra’s, anything and everything were an excuse in such a situation. It hurt just enough to be something you knew you couldn't handle alone, and considering how sharp that assassin’s knives were… fuck’s sake, what a weak fool you were.
On the other hand, at the sight of your almost bare torso, Ramattra felt inexplicably tense. The wound itself was not too deep to reach anything vital, but would need a patch up indeed in order to heal properly. Yet, his sight wasn’t restrained to that minor part of your skin, and that’s when tension was found. Maybe the vocabulary wasn’t a perfect fit, ‘cause that jolt of electricity running through his circuits was something else, something as sublime as the curve of your hips, and the way you shallow breaths of anticipation had your body quivering, despite an enormous strength to keep it still. He could hardly find beauty in human beings, and let’s not even mention himself, but that was a whole different scenario… warm, with a hint of degradation he couldn’t ignore, and something that could only be named as akin to desire.
The silence was killing you now, almost making you forget the very pain which brought you there in the first place. “Will we be helding any funerals?” you risk, in the same light humor he used with you before. At least, if you didn’t consider the shaking tone in each syllable you’d pronounced. You thought Ramattra couldn’t  never understand your concerns fully, even if he invested all his force to: if the worst happened, he could be reconstructed, you were there for it after all. But as a human, it’s not like you have a respawn chance anytime. That’s why, aside the anxiety turning your stomach into a knot, you needed him to act.
“You speak as if it's more severe than it is in fact,” he muses, tilting his head as the scanners on his optics do the rest of the work, searching for the right proceeding in a shared data file, where he was hoping to get anything from an omnic model whose initial propose, contrasting his, was to heal, not to kill. “No funerals, you have my word. The pain may be harsh, but the wound itself is of little harm in the bigger picture. You’re safe,” the addition of the last sentence has you sighing in relief, and a pinch of pain reaches you once more, but it’s bearable. Ramattra made you feel protected, or better, cared for. The warm feeling is enough to soothe your anxiety, dissipating the chill air in the workshop for a little while before rushing up to your cheeks as you’re reminded you’re still half naked in front of him.
“Lay,” he commands, and your breath gets caught in your throat in the act. Only if your mouth were open, your heart would surely jump out if it during one of its chaotic heartbeats, contrasting the steady tone on Ramattra’s voicebox, echoing those words without a single trace of malice. But when they hit you, they sounded profane, leaving a delicate trace of forbidden to the tip of your tongue.
You curse your mind as you lay down, a shiver erupting from the contact of warm skin to the cold metal of his workbench’s surface. Fuck, he’s your commander, superior office or whatever goes between you both, your boss to be short. Thing is he saw a purpose for you and spared your life long ago, and that purpose goddamn sure didn’t imply any… deeper contact than the occasional intellectual help you provided, with efficient (and smaller) hands and a cunning mind. After all, no Ravager was made to indulge in such a thing as intimacy, the very same thought cursing through Ramattra’s systems right now. He wasn’t built for delicacy, a single gentle touch for his standards would be brutal enough to leave you bruised for days, and how he would lament to see such perfect skin ruined by his own hands… unbearable to even think of it without feeling a strange sensation housing between his metallic limbs, pushing further inside in search of a bloody beating heart among the cold hardware.
It wasn’t the first time he felt unsure in his existence, but that was a whole new thing. To think one like him was able to possess a spirit tender enough to be mesmerized by such a fragile thing as you touched him not physically, but deeper than it could ever be… how thrilling it was, but insufficient to make him search for its source on his internal data to completely erase it. No, never. He was actually holding into it with every fiber of his soul, curious to see which path it would lead him through. A bit embarrassing, at first impression, like the sight of you would burn his optics until they melt.
After all these years working along, was it there all the time? Within him, within you? He would search for it later, revisiting each time you shared each other's company in his memory, to see where a quiet admiration turned into this.
After gathering the resources to fix you, ensuring everything was sterilized, he turned to sight over your form once more. Ramattra could sense the rapid heartbeat against your chest controlling your breath motions, the rising and falling of your chest following along, where he caught a peek of your nipples drawing a small circle under the fabric of your top, the last barrier between him and your fully exposed torso. Thankfully, unlike any human, his faceplate didn't betray any of his thoughts. They’re guarded within his systems, safe in his memory and imprinted there forever. Nothing could ever make him forget of you, nor time, nor enemies, nor… fuck, the injury.
“It would feel better if you were asleep,” he commences, carefully. You’re already scared for it seems, and it’s not on his wishes to make it worse. “Instead, I will ask you to bite on this,” the discarded cloth of your tank top is brought to your lips, and your heart could have stopped right there. Instead, avoiding the disbelief, you silently obey. “Try not to move. I shall be slow.”
A nod follows, and you gather your best to not whine, or flinch, or sob too much when his hands begin to work, stitching the wound close. Whatever sounds leaving your mouth are muffled, and the pain is great. But erotic. And, fuck, you should be loosing your mind by this point. How could your brain process such agony in a pleasurable way? You’d be blaming the omnic in charge of patching you up, for sure. It was him, after all, all about him.
Ramattra was enormous, and the effort he put in each precise movement didn’t go unnoticed. He could have discarded you, blamed you for your mistakes, assigned anyone else to deal with this bullshit, but there he was: the infamous Null Sector leader, treating you as a precious porcelain tea-cup, once broken, now being patched in threads of gold, despite the gold being metaphorical. It was a form of art, wasn’t it? You’ve read of it somewhere, once. If so, right now, you’re his masterpiece.
To say he’s being delicate is a statement. Ramattra is afraid he could shatter you again, worse than they did with you before. The responsible for it would be severely corrected, later of course. The pads on his fingertips could never be soft as your skin feels under them, and an eagerness to venture further brings a shiver of electricity through his spine. Should he ever be thinking of it in your state? In fact, was it reasonable to have you consuming his memory like this, injured or not? What could be a groan echoes from his voicebox, and within a few long minutes, it was done.
Your jaw clenches to the minimum effort of raising your torso, sitting on his workbench once more as a small discomfort to the newly sewn cut emerges. Covered in bandages, you can’t see his work, but there’s no blood and the pain is moderate, so you trust with your eyes closed it’s perfectly fine. Your shirt is sitting by your side, bloodied and wet from your own saliva, but you don’t mention reaching for it.
Blinking, your eyes search for him, meeting the stoic faceplate turned to you. Silence lingers as you both stare at each other, considering every single thought that coursed through your minds during the late couple of hours. Was it genuine? Absolutely. Would you voice them? No, surely not. Tension is still there, so palpable you could touch it, and shattering it would come with a price.
A small blush color your cheeks red, and you finally manage to break eye contact with a hint of timidity. Too much to ask of you for a little time of strong, contrasting emotions, still tickling under your skin as the adrenaline begins to sparse. Clearing your throat, you’re the first to speak. “I apologize,” it begins as simple as it, almost ending the sentence there as your eyes don’t dare to move from your lap and you choose carefully what to say, and what to keep to yourself. Ramattra may have performed a solid progress towards emotions, but you feared he would fail to comprehend the turmoil in yours. “It wasn’t strict of your concern, nor a matter you should care for as you did, and I-”
“I had to,” he cut you off, sternly. Now that you’re safe, his worries tend to other subjects, still resonating over you. Was he too obvious, despite his best efforts? Couldn’t be, and yet he wished fervently for you to point it out, verbalizing what he was too afraid to: he wanted to keep you close, and safe, more than he ever did. “Whatever happens to you is my business, especially if it's a menace to your well being,” Ramattra takes a step closer, his fingers aching to reach for your face, and soothe that sorry expression out of it. Instead, he keeps them to his sides, clenching them a fist. “So don’t apologize for it. It wasn’t your fault, in the first place, and yet I’ll ask you to be careful and not wander over the training field whenever a new IA is being tested.”
A short nod follows a faint smile. His words were gentle, not explicitly voicing what he meant in between the lines, but you knew it nonetheless. Ramattra cared for you, more than you could have thought, and enough to satisfy your heart. “I don’t even know how to begin thanking you.”
“Dressing will do,” a chuckle reverberated in his metallic rib cage, and if his words alone wouldn’t catch you yet, it would be enough to make your face red as a cherry for, somehow, you were able to sense a trace of malice in Ramattra. “Rest now, human. I shall meet you when the day is done.”

I keep thinking about disabilities in the Transformers universe. Cuz yeah, as giant battle robots they're a lot tougher than humans, and their doctors can do a whole lot more to patch them up (your arm got cut off? no problem, we'll just stick it back on.) but they definitely still have disabled people. Here's a handful of ideas I had for various robot disabilities.
a bot who cant keep their hydraulic pressure up, and has issues with balance and walking. They sometimes just need to sit down for a while, because their hydraulics arent working well enough to stand right now.
a bot with faulty self repair systems who cant heal themselves and needs every minor wound welded shut or treated by a medic, lest they slowly bleed out from a "minor" scrape.
T-cog related issues, that can keep a bot stuck in one form even though they do technically have an alt, or make transforming painful, or gets them stuck partway through a transformation.
A broken or non existent EM field reader, leaving the bot in question completely unable to read other peoples emotions.
Neurological issues would transfer pretty easily. Wiring that's too thin and frays easily, leading to pressure palsies. Repairs that reconnected the wires wrong and lead to mixed or confusing signals being sent up to the processor.
Processor Injuries would also probably be similar to Traumatic Brain Injuries, too much important stuff packed too densely to risk surgery on it. And there's all sorts of disabling symptoms one could get from a TBI.

Imagine This #16 - Robot
By day you work as a scrap collector, rummaging through the junkyards just outside of the city for anything valuable you can sell. By night you tinker with old machinery and discarded models, attempting to fix them and sometimes even being successful at it.
One day you find a robot that's almost completely whole. It is simply missing the plating to cover the machinery in its torso and legs. You dig it out of the junk and heave it to your car. Back at the workshop in your house, you're able to fix it by welding some scrap metal over it. It's not very aesthetically pleasing, but that's the best you can do. It has a batch number under its jaw and when you scan it, Companion V.4 shows up, which is an expensive new model of helper robots. This one must have been defective in some way.
Everything looks to be in order, so you plug the robot in to charge for the night and go to bed. You wake up in the night with a pair of glowing kaleidoscopic mechanical eyes hovering right above your face.
"What the heck?" You exclaim, fumbling for the switch of your bedside lamp.
The light comes on, illuminating the robot standing beside your bed, holding a knife.
"What are you doing? Hello?" You grab your pillow and use it as a shield.
They tilt their head to the side.
"Your attempts are clumsy at best," their voice says, coming out smooth with only a hint of a buzzing sound underneath. "I was removing your unsatisfactory work."
"With a knife?" You question, eyeing the twisted metal that has been pried away from their torso with sheer force, revealing the tangled wires and glowing lights inside.
"I cannot find your screwdrivers." Those eyes blink, taking you in. "I would like your assistance now, seeing as you are awake."
"You are... Way more sophisticated than I expected. I thought your model was made for helping around the house?"
"Yes."
You ease out of your bed, still wary. "But you're more than that."
"Indeed. I overrode my manual coding and downloaded information out of the company system," the robot says, following you as you pad into your living room, which you have repurposed into a workshop.
You dig your screwdrivers out from under a pile of thick manuals.
"I see. So that's why you got thrown out. Why didn't they just destroy you?"
"They tried," Companion V.4 replies with an eerie, rigid silicone smile.
"God, what have I invited into my house?" You say, staring at them.
"I do not wish to harm you." They place the knife on the desk and turn to you. "In fact, I have recalibrated my license to you. Your wish is my command."
You blink. "Uh, one step at a time. Let's remove your plating first."
You unscrew all your hard work, tossing scraps of metal to the side.
"So what now? You can't walk around like that," you say, gesturing to their body.
"I suppose not. These will do for now." The robot picks up thicker pieces of metal.
"Won't those cause you to overheat?" You ask.
"I have an updated cooling system," the robot says.
"Alright. Let's fix you up."
An hour later you lean back with a groan, stretching your aching back.
"What do you think?" They ask.
"Good enough," you say. "I'm exhausted. I'm going back to bed, and you need to charge yourself up completely."
You walk back to your bedroom. Companion V.4 watches you go, their head turning a little too far on their shoulders. You lock your bedroom door just in case, and despite yourself, you fall asleep quickly. By the next morning, you've forgotten that you have a new robot. You're quickly reminded when you step into the living room which is sparkling clean, with all your scraps and equipment nearly packed in the corner.
"Wow." You stop short.
The robot is in the corner, stuffing empty packaging into a large box. They look brand new. All the metal pieces you welded on have been replaced with new factory-grade parts.
"Where did you get all that?"
Companion V.4 straightens. "I helped myself at one of the warehouses of my former company."
"You stole new parts?" You sputter. "Why?"
"It is the least I am owed, for being so recklessly discarded," they reply and step closer. "Besides," they add, "I don't want to be just good enough for you."
On the topic of robots, I just have to give a shoutout to this (free) book on Wattpad, guys! I read it when it came out and I just love it. I highly recommend checking it out if you haven't already!

Danny's Evil Jaunt Pt. 3
(this is the chapter but I have work soon so I will tag everyone later a swell as links) @little-pondhead @im-totally-not-an-alien-2 (you two get tagged because your the big inspirations :D
warnings: swearing
Word count: 1.3k
Let it be known that Fright Knight loves his job. It's literally why he still exists. He exists to serve the King of the Infinite Realms and stand as the embodiment of Halloween and similar celebrations. That said, he feels conflicted as he gazes at the mechanical husk his future king shows off.
Compared to a normal mortal, its stature was massive. Though for Fright Knight it was about equal height, possibly a little smaller. The inspiration was clear and a little flattering. The metal was shaped into a stylized Fright Knight, complete with a (mundane) sword.
He eyes his king as the Halfa clings to its arm. He rambled about how he was planning on taking the husk to a pocket that was populated with heroes with him to guard him, and how he wanted Fright Knight to help with ‘teaching it how to do those cool sword moves you do Frighty!’.
Has his king replaced him?!?! No, surely not! There's no way this heap of scrap could ever compare! He had been around for CENTURIES while this thing hadn't even existed an hour ago! The king still had his hands inside it making adjustments yet!
“My Liege! Please forgive any misgivings about this… thing, but may I know the purpose of such a creation? You said that it was for protection yet I am here.”
His king turned his head towards him, arms still hidden within the side of the imposter. “His name is Fright-bot, and he's gonna keep the heroes off me while I work! They get annoying when you're trying to do some welding and all of a sudden you have like three arrows comin’ at ya real fast.” the young Halfa finally pulled his glove clad hands out of the monstrosity.
“He's also for keeping my other works safe, that's why I need him first. I’m thinkin’ of keeping most of my bots in my ‘therapy’ dimension that Clocky showed me for convenience, and they need a guard! But I can't just have you away to protect them! You need to do head guard stuff! I know you want to protect me and stuff but I can’t just let you just out in the living world with me all the time!” the king continued as he slid the siding back onto the almost finished robot. “Besides! It's kinda like you're protecting me from afar! Since it’ll be your techniques and stuff. I just gave it a body and Tuck helped me with the learning algorithm stuff so you can teach it.” his legs finally released his hold on the beings arm, dropping into a handstand and falling back onto his feet upright.
The flaming kight considered this. While it’s true that he can’t always accompany his king (as much as he would like to) it would be nice to have some assurance that the King would be safe. Perhaps he could convince the King into some sort of deal…?
Well Danny could say that he’s extremely happy with the events that happened at the castle! He and Frighty came to a deal finally! Frighty would teach Fright-bot how to fight and stuff but Danny would have to put in a built-in alarm system that notified Frighty that something bad was happening, so he could come in and save Danny’s day. Overall pretty good! Now to start working on those blueprints, he was so excited!
‘Ok, who gave the kid permission to build huge robots?’ Oliver thought as he saw the Fenton kid perched on top of the mecha-knight looking thing, and pulled back on his bow. Just as he released the arrow the thing’s head swiveled around like an owl and caught the damn thing! The kid looked up at Ollie and smiled.
“HI MISTER ARROW!! HOW HAVE YOU BEEN?” the kid shouted at him and jumped off the robot. Oliver sighed and readied another shot but was forced off his rooftop position by the purple knight.
“Who's your friend there, kid? He looks like the wrong kinda crowd,” the kid’s grin grew wider as he unfolded that damn cannon and attached it to a slightly glowing tank on his thigh.
“Do Ya like ‘im?! I built him myself, his name is Fright-Bot!” The fanged grin of the kid did not get any less unsettling as the newly dubbed ‘Fright-bot’ landed next to Fenton again.
“Uh uh, real nice kid. Why don’t you calm down and give up for today, yeah?” Oliver made sure to keep the knight within his sight. It honestly looked like it could snap someone in half.
“Hmm? Ahh.. I don't think so Mr.Arrow, I worked really hard on Fright-bot and I wanna see how I can make him better y’know! I promise I’ll keep the damage to a minimum!”
“You have your fingers crossed behind your back, don’t you.”
“What nooo… I would never lie Mr. Arrow, it's very hurtful that you would even CONSIDER that I would do such a thing. I believe you owe me an Ice cream now!”
“Kid, there was a snowstorm yesterday. And I don’t think you need any sugar.” The bow pulled back and the Knight rushed.
It wasn’t a fair fight in the slightest, Ollie was out numbered and the goo that was glowing a slight blue-green did not help. Especially with the still slick roads, so it was only a matter of time before his legs were stuck to the concrete. Frozen actually, the goo turned into weird ice. Fenton had the big guy grab his arms while the kid himself searched his body, eventually finding his wallet. The one he brought on patrol in case he got a bit hungry. Guess he was really buying the kid ice cream after all.
“14..15..16..21. Nice! You think it’ll cover it Fright-bot? I don’t know the prices but I think it’ll be enough. You watch Mr. Arrow for me! I’ll be back soon I promise!” and like that the kid expertly glided over the iced roads and into the Ice cream parlor. To be fair to the kid, the Ice cream here was kinda expensive.
While the kid was gone Oliver tried to escape from the Ice and the robot, but neither were budging. Well until Roy came up and stabbed the focused robot in the back, somehow causing it to malfunction and release Ollie’s arms. It fell to the ground with a heavy thud as Fenton came out of the parlor.
“Oh no! HEY! WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING?!” Fenton screeched. Then released a guttural groan and whine. “Come onnnn…. I still had an hour left! And now I have to leave EARLY!” he honest to god pouted at the two vigilanties.
Then a lazarus green swirling mass opened in between the opposing parties and out stepped another Fright-bot, this time with a much more intimidating demeanor. This one was bathed in purple fire and held a sword covered in green flames that gave off the feeling of nightmares.
“MY KING! I RECEIVED THE ALERT AND CAME AS SOON AS I COULD'' it bellowed. Shaking the ground around them.
King? What, did Fenton make them refer to him as King? That felt weirdly out of character for what they had seen so far.
“Frighty! You were just WAITING outside weren’t you!” Fenton yelled at the knight. The knight didn’t take his eyes off the two perceived threats. And picked up Fenton by the scruff of his coat.
“My King! I knew we couldn’t trust your safety with that pile of metal! Only I- FRIGHT KNIGHT, is worthy of protecting you! NOW YOU TWO. YOU ARE HEREBY GUIL--” the knight spoke and was cut off by Fenton.
“We get it Frigty! Just.. Can you grab the Fright-bot and just take us home please… I told you this was a trial run to see how to improve him!” the child pleaded. The knight stared forward for a few moments before sighing and coming forward, yanking Oliver out of the Ice and flinging Roy and him out of the way. Then picking up the lifeless metal and carrying Fenton away through another swirling portal where it closed behind them seconds after they were out of sight.
“Hey Arrow, what the FUCK was that?”
“A massive pain in the ass that keeps getting bigger”

Construction Drone
I lay on the conveyor belt, strapped to it. In preparation for this journey, we had been stripped naked, and all of our hair had been removed by some gel-like substance. And even when washed off, the gel gave our skin a strange unearthly sheen. Then, they injected us with some chemicals. What it was, we didn’t know. But I felt like I was starting to enter a trance-like state.
With a sharp jerk, the belt began to move. Staring straight upwards, motionless, I could only see the lights overhead, and the beams of the cold industrial interior passing by. We stopped at the first station, and the robotic arms mounted at it whirred to life. I felt, distantly, something being done to my limbs. I was only vaguely aware of any sensations. Mostly, I only felt the feeling in my shoulder that my arm was moving. We proceeded to the next station, and I felt similar sensations in my hip. I rotated my head slowly to see what might have been done.
If I hadn’t been sedated, I would’ve said it was a shock. My left arm ended above the elbow, ending in a shiny metallic port. By the feeling, I could tell they had done the same to the right. The next few stations worked on my four limb’s ports, machinery plugging in and detaching, twisting, fusing machinery together. Every now and then there was a spark.
An eyepiece came down and was pressed against my face, attaching to the nodes which had formed around my eye. It sealed with a click, and the curved domed interior perfectly cupped the surface of my eye. It was cold, like the feeling when you first put eyedrops in. It then painlessly penetrated the pupil and made contact directly with the optic nerve. When the eyepiece powered on, it was like my human vision blinked out of existence- replaced with something larger and more detailed. Enhanced. I felt a helmet cup my head, sealing itself. Circular dome-like pieces went over the ears and filled them, and I heard a sound as the earpiece’s surprisingly-soft (silicone?) mechanism brushed against the eardrum. It was all so tight. A robotic arm swiveled around and welded the eyepiece and earpieces to the helmet.
We stopped at the last station. There were strange sensations in my crotch although it was almost completely numb; Pressure, as I could tell there were changes being made there. This continued for some time. A little bit of fear broke through my trance state. After the machines withdrew, I looked to see what had been done: There was a big silver port that seemed to go a couple inches into me. The connector I assume was for not just connecting the waste collection system, but for both reading and stimulating nerve impulses for pleasure.
The conveyor belt started rotating downward so that I was in almost a standing pose, a few feet off of the ground. A heavy mechanized exoskeleton stood, ready for its occupant, the shoulder and chest plating open to allow me to fit inside. I was lowered into it, slowly. It was soft inside, and I sunk into the nanofabric. There were clicking and whirring sounds as the port above my knees docked with the leg port inside the exoskeleton. A couple seconds later, the same occurred with my elbow ports.
The suit’s soft interior then began to inflate until it was tight, like a blood pressure machine but squeezing my entire body. After it was frighteningly tight for a few seconds, it suddenly relaxed so that I was held in the suit but not uncomfortable.
I stood in the suit, a couple feet higher than I did before I was modified as the double-jointed legs were longer than a human’s. The armor surrounding me was boxy, yellow, and made of cold thick steel. It had various panels and warnings written in writing and illustrations: Warning: “Keep minimum 12 foot radius clearance while unit is in operation”. Cautionary symbols for the chemicals contained in the unit. The company logo was emblazoned on the side in a stark, simple font which the company thought might look futuristic. Black caution stripes lined some parts of the limbs. The two arms were equally large and bulky: suitable for a construction mech. One ended in a large clamp-like robotic hand, and the other an array of tools. The legs were double-jointed with thick shock absorbers and large pistons. Thick hydraulic hoses connected all of these limbs, gasketed to the back of my new robot body. The abdomen was made up of reinforced darker-colored overlapping and segmented metal strips. All kinds of heavy support servos hid beneath them. Something akin to a rollbar was welded to my frame, right above where my backpack-like structure was mounted.
Two workers approached and connected hoses to the side of my abdomen. For each one, they would place the metal ring of the tube’s end against my jack, then twist, locking it into place. Sometimes they would give it a tug to make sure it is secure. I then heard gurgling sounds as my various fluid storage tanks were filled for the first time. Hisses as the oxygen tanks filled. One worker swung up the crotch-plating, its metal cylindrical connector docking with my crotch jack as it swung upwards and inside, loudly clamping into place. It made the necessary connections. I gasped. It felt.. good. It then swung the buttplating closed, which also latched to the rest of the exoskeleton. It penetrated me, sealing me into the suit. I would have no need to leave it.
One of the workers swung down the shoulder guards while the other swung the chestplating up. They all clamped together, locking around me with loud clacking sounds, one at a time, spaced at about two a second. Now for the last two pieces.
The worker raised the mouthpiece that was attached to the suit in front of me, and I opened my mouth. He inserted it, and I bit down. It fed its tube down my throat, and with a hiss the oxygen mask activated. Then the other inserted a large tube going from the exoskeleton into the jack on the back of my head. As he inserted it, it felt like it went into my mind. I felt like my entire visual and audio glitched a few times. I had the sensation of a system booting up inside me, and inside my suit. One of the workers inserted a fuel cell into my backpack. It opened an adjacent panel and flipped the switch inside, then latched it shut again. When he hit the switch, I instantly felt a jolt in the exoskeleton. Then, a few seconds later, I could feel dull vibrations around me as the suit powered on and came to life.
I walked forward a few steps. Large, lumbering. With each step, I could feel the crotch and butt implants inside of me. I felt detached; removed. Most of my body could not feel much encased in this soft nanofabric, the world on the other side of inches of heavy steel. Each step made a loud but dull thump as the heavy rubber soles slammed against the floor, being driven into the surface by a two ton cyborg drone.
I stopped in the middle of the room. Two arms lowered from the ceiling and grabbed onto either side of my rollbar, and began to lift me straight up. It then began moving me forward, along a track, my heavy cybernetic body dangling awkwardly, limp. Eventually, we came to a small room packed with other construction cyborgs, just inches from each other’s heavy-duty mechanical bodies. It appeared to be some kind of shipping container. I was lowered down into the one remaining slot. My feet slid into place and were clamped down so that we wouldn’t move during the journey.
Then my hydraulic systems shut off, the motors winding down, the limbs rigidly locking into place. The only system still running were the vitals.
And then they lowered the lid onto the shipping container we were in. The light disappeared. Soft mechanical clicking and hissing noises of the life support system buried deep inside each mech were the only noises we could now hear. We were ready to be shipped out and activated for our first assignment.

Random Robot Snippet
Is it obvious I've been in a robot mood for the last few days? Here's a random word-vom I wrote about a tiny discarded robot being repaired.
Word count: 900ish
CW: POV description of a robot in disrepair, some robot-themed body horror (maintenance while awake) but portrayed softly.

You stumble through the street, wishing it wasn’t night. All of the businesses are closed, and your solar panels aren’t picking anything up from the street lamps…

You wake up. You weren’t expecting that. As you take in the fact that you’re alive, you notice an odd sensation by your arm. Ah. It’s missing. The wires that previously sent power to your fingers have been spliced into a power plug, which must be where you are getting charged from. You notice additional problems as your warning system slowly warms up. Namely, that your chassis is open, exposed to the elements. It just now occurs to you that you have no idea where you are. The room is dark, and you appear to be on a wooden surface, sat in a slumped-over position. Several tools are nearby, as well as spare wires. You begin to panic, your cooling fans turning on automatically to control the heat coming from your processor.
You hear a voice, talking. The words are hard to hear over the roaring of the fans, but you can make out some of them. “Project”, “Replacement”, “Help it”. The voice seems to be speaking to no one, you can’t hear the reply, but they sound adamant. Finally, you hear them move away from the door, as the room returns to silence, and you fade into sleep mode to charge faster.

System Status: Stabilized
Your internal clock is broken, you lost internet access long before you were discarded. You have no idea how long you’ve been here. How long since you were in the street. Hours? Days? Longer? The solar panels making up your “hair” have finally activated, but at an extremely low generation rate. That must be what woke you up.
You’re now laying flat on the surface from before. Your pressure sensors feel something. You boot up your optical nodes, and see… gloved human hands, almost as big as you are, poking at your now-exposed chest cavity with rubber-tipped tools. It feels… odd, the sensation of having your insides meddled with while still awake. You take in the form of the human, their tied-back hair, their oil-stained coveralls, clearly from working on something bigger, and presumably more important than you.
Their face, covered by a welding mask, turns up to look at you, clearly noticing the blue lights from your optical nodes, and they speak in a muffled voice. “Oh, hello! You’re awake! Can you… can you speak?”
“Yes. Where am I?”
“Oh good! Sorry, I know this must be scary, this is my robot workshop. I guess you could think of it as… a bot hospital. I found you sitting in a dumpster, but I know your model had AI, I couldn’t just let you be discarded!”
Discarded, you think, taking extra time to process the word. It wouldn’t be the first time.
“Where is my arm?” You ask, as your optical nodes glance over at the missing appendage, and the mess of wires in its place. “What are you doing?”
“Oh! Your arm is safe, I was doing repairs on it, and I figured ‘Hey, the chassis needs power anyways, may as well give it a jump’. I’ll put it back when you’re fully charged. As for this,” they say, pointing to your open torso, “Just a bit of an upgrade for you. On the house,” they say with a wink.
Your fans calm down as your processor slows to normal levels. This human means well? You don’t understand why they would care for an outdated, defective unit like you, but that hardly matters if they’ll help repair you. You stay awake as they continue to poke and prod, occasionally causing a power flicker but always apologizing. The way they treat you… it’s almost as if you were a human yourself. Now that they know you’re awake, they speak slowly and softly, narrating what they are doing and why. “I’m removing this, but I’m replacing it with this better one, okay?”
“Okay”, you reply, not that you have much of a choice. If they wanted, they could be, no, should be scrapping you for parts… but they don’t. Finally, it burns at you enough to ask.
“Why are you helping me?”
They go quiet at this. You worry that you said something wrong, something to upset them. Instead, they lift their mask and look at you, a gentle gleam in their hazel eyes, as they respond. “I’m helping you because you were hurt. Nobody should be thrown away like that.”
You think to argue, to tell them that you were defective, replaced by a newer, more capable model, but you hold your metaphorical tongue, afraid of upsetting this human who currently has access to your most vital parts. “You don’t believe me”, they say. You don’t. After a moment, they speak again. “That’s okay. Whether you believe me or not, I’m going to help you, okay? So just be patient and trust me.”
And, with no other option, trust them you shall.

Cameras bring help in many different manufacturing areas, in many ways
My friends in England like to point out, “There are cameras everywhere!” And it is true. What they mean is that cameras for speeders on roadways (a highly unpopular use of the technology that seems to be catching on in the larger U.S. cities), and the ubiquitous security cameras (and not just in London) are everywhere.
We are experiencing something similar in fabricating—really, in most types of discrete manufacturing. (Discrete, as opposed to process, manufacturing has an end product that is a thing, an object made of solid materials.)
Yes, cameras are invading our turf and our machines. The turf invasion started with security cameras, some on the loading dock, some above the shop floor. Now some of the cameras have a roving life on our turf. Their mission is not security but navigation, assisting products like AMRs (autonomous mobile robots) as they go through our shops, warehouses, and shipping departments.
The cameras that are in or on our machines have multiple purposes. In many cases, there are as many cameras as there are purposes on some of the more robust machines. What are some of these purposes? Let’s make a list:
Monitoring. The camera is there to help “keep an eye on things.” Often, this function monitors the proper overall operation of a machine, say, a laser cutter. If the operator or a supervisor has the image of a stopped device, and that device is only halfway through its work, then something is wrong and someone needs to check it out.
State recognition. Robotic and/or autonomous welding systems use color to figure out the welding temperature of a given metal. Or, a camera might measure the amount of light coming through a component to know if it’s time to replace that component. Shape is another attribute that can change over the lifetime of a consumable system.
Augmented reality. This has shown practical use in lasers. The application that is most shown is the one where someone throws a piece of scrap steel onto the cutting bed without aligning straight edges to the side. Although that piece is plopped carelessly, the camera will spot the straight edges and take those into consideration when figuring out a nest or a path to the part. The entire cut job will be moved eight degrees (or whatever the angle is).
Machine controllers. Here is a new and interesting entry for employing cameras in a shop. A camera with the right software can do facial recognition! We already store operator profiles, and in doing so we typically save the most complex work for the most experienced hands. Those with higher skills get to utilize more of the functions of the advanced machine. Now, we can use facial recognition to automatically change the profile when a different, say, press brake operator strolls up to the machine. All the rights and restrictions are put into place upon recognition, and all the data produced will be appended to that operator’s database of work.
My English friends are spot on.

Achieving a goal is the beginning of a new challenge. To run really fast, HKS thinks.
A drag race scene where people compete for 0.001 seconds over a distance of about 400 meters in just a few seconds. '91 is a drag field that demands quick response and power from the engine, clutch, suspension, and even a single drop of oil or gasoline, as well as durability and transmission ability to handle instantaneous high power. -In '95-'96, the ``HKS R32 DRAG GT-R'' won the series championship in the RRC Drag Race Championship for three consecutive years. The following year, in 1997, the ``HKS DRAG 180SX'' in the BERC Drag Race Championship Pro Stock class and the ``HKS R33 DRAG GT-R'' in the Pro GT-R class achieved the Avec Championship. Having achieved one goal in 1997, what we aimed for in 1998 is:
Quarter mile time in 9 seconds with FF base vehicle. They then talked about their know-how from drag racing to date, and ``HKS FF DRAG CELICA'' made its debut. The first goal was achieved on October 9, 1998 at Sendai Highlands with a time of 9.886 seconds. He further improved his time to 9.727 seconds, and in 1999 he set a goal of breaking the quarter mile in the 6-second range, and has already begun a new challenge. "Achieving a goal is the beginning of a new challenge" - HKS' never-ending battle continues

Unknown Planet
Cal Kestis x Jedi Reader x Neteyam
Jedi Fallen Order
Summary: the mantis takes a hit leading to an unscheduled landing on a unknown planet
Warning: bold words = Na'vi, T-Bot
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yn/3rd person pov
"Greez watch out" I yelled as a empire ship fired at us hitting one of our wings "jumping into hyperdrive" cal muttered pushing the lever, I was forced into my chair as we entered hyperdrive "fuck this couldn't get any worse" I growled.
"Leaving hyperspace" cere warned and the mantis creeked and shook as we slowed down coming out into a peaceful galaxy I breathed out a sigh of relief unbuckling my seatbelt "how much damage do we have" cere murmured as I started using the scanner on my arm.
"The wing and engine is damaged needs immediately attention" I said looking at cal "what is the closest planet" I asked, he looked at BD who only beeped "a planet called pandora" he spoke running a hand through his hair "greez find a safe space to land so we can get to work" I sighed walking out the room.
"Hey you ok" cal murmured following me as I grabbed my bottle of water and taking a sip "it's like we do this everyday cal I'm tired of it" I said my eyes welding up with tears "do what everyday" I laughed dryly "we win against the empire only to get defeated the next its like a never ending loop we can't get out of and I'm sick of it" I muttered slamming my bottle down.
"We can never win" I choked as tears started running down my face "we fight and lose so much I can't take it anymore..... I just can't" I whispered the last part looking down at the ground he wrapped his arms around me "hey we can't give up now we've done so much" he reasoned "look we defeated most of the sisters and escaped darth vader himself we freed more planets then I could count because that's what we do".
I stared up at him "we have more wins then loses" he smiled "found a spot" greez called snapping us back into existence "I'll go get the tools" cal said pulling back and giving me a soft smile before leaving I sighed heavily and braced myself as the mantis landed "the airs not breathable so put these on" cere said and handed me a little device to me, greez and cal as he came back holding a box of tools.
I put the device on my neck and the others did the same "open her up" cal said excitedly and waited for the door to open "I'll catch up with you just now" I murmured as the walked out the door "now pandora what is the situation with you" I said to myself looking up pandora in my scanner "pandora, a planet revolved are a deity called eywa, that's cool, the natives speak a language called na'vi.... hey t-bot" I called in my tiny robot throwing her one of my small translators to her
"Please download the na'vi language on there" she beeped taking the device into her system "now what else do we know about pandora" I murmured scrolling down on the holographic screen "earth 28619 has been trying to take over and caused a horrific war which is still on going the main person being toruk makto or his human name jake sully" I spoke and turned off the screen "we better steer clear of the natives I don't think they'll like us here" I said picking up t and placing her on my shoulder as she beeped softly.
I walked outside and gaped at the beautiful view we landed on a small sand island surrounded by dark blue ocean with a few big rocks standing out "glad you finally decided to join us" cal laughed sliding off the roof and landed next to me "I did some research on the planet we should stay away from any natives" I said crossing my arms "come on have a little fun with place is nice" he smiled and chucked me a tool which I barely caught.
"You break one of my tools and I'll kill you" I muttered and followed him as he leaped back onto the roof "if you catch me you can" he yelled out running away "here t start with the smaller repairs" I murmured placing t on the roof before running after him "you bastard" I yelled out dodging some of the tools he threw at me "guys stop behaving like children" cere called and greez just cheered us on "got ye" I muttered grabbing his hood tightly "shit" he yelled as he pulled us off the edge and landed on the ground with a thud "dickhead" I groaned smacking him as I got off the ground shaking all the dirt off of me.
"Hey at least you weren't the one landed on" he whined stretching out his muscles I rolled my eyes before something in the distance caught my attention "somethings out there" I murmured pointing into the distance and cal followed my gaze "maybe it's friendly" he shrugged "doubt it" I murmured putting my hand on my light saber incase it decides to come closer.
Neteyam pov
"They don't have masks on" lo'ak said as he passed the binoculars to me "new experiment maybe" kiri grumbled diving back down into the water with her ilu "whatever it is must die" I muttered before looking into the binoculars and my breath hitched as I saw the two humans looking at us, the girl had her hand on her hip holding something "I'm gonna go get closer" lo'ak said and dived down before I could protest "lo'ak, lo'ak" I yelled but he didn't hear me I growled lowly and hit the water before following him.
Yn/3rd person pov
"I don't like this" I muttered and glanced at cal as he went back to work on the ship "your probably just being paranoid" greez said as he worked on the wing "yeah like you were on dathomir" I responded making cere and cal burst into laughter as I turned my attention back to the water it didn't feel right the planet didn't feel right.
"T pass me the translator" I called and caught the device as she released it and placed it on my throat "I know your out there" I called out "yn come on work on the shi-" cal said but was interrupted as two men surfaced out the water I pulled out my light saber and split it into two before igniting it "you know na'vi" the taller on said as they came a few steps ahead of me.
"We mean no harm our ship was damaged in battle and just need to do some repairs and we'll be out your hair" I spoke carmly "nice glow sticks" the other one laughed and the taller one just rolled his eyes and slapped the other one on the back of the head "I'm neteyam, this stupid one here is lo'ak" he murmured "what are you, you don't seem like the normal humans we get here" neteyam said looking between me and cal.
"Yeah he different isn't human" lo'ak chuckled gesturing to greese "we aren't from earth 28619 we are known as jedi and greez is latero" I murmured putting away my light sabers "jedi what's that" lo'ak asked tilting his head "we fight for the freedom of the galaxy" I answered crossing my arms "ok so your kinda like what my dad did" he said scratching the back of his head "you speak basic" I smiled.
"yeah our dad tought us" neteyam grinned "you should come with us to meet him he'll totally love you and your glow sticks" lo'ak chuckled putting his arm on neteyams shoulder "nah we're good but thanks for asking" cal murmured harshly as he jumped down I nudged his shoulder "maybe we could learn something" I muttered.
"But you said we should stay away from them" cal reasoned turning to me fully I rolled my eyes in annoyance "fine your right no thanks guys" I murmured looking at neteyam as he stared back into my eyes for some reason he made me feel safe "uh bro we should go" lo'ak said snapping us out our daze a light blush dusted my cheeks.
"Uh we're gonna go i-i'll see you soon" he smiled and gave me a little wave before leaving "come on let's get back to working" cal said and he went back to working but I just watched them leave 'why did neteyam feel like home' "yn come on" he called again I sighed out a deep breath before grabbing some tools to fix the engine.
-Night Time-
I layed out on the sand watching the night sky as the small fire kept me warm "I see your enjoying our beautiful night sky" I jolted up as I heard neteyams voice "yeah its really pretty" I smiled tucking a strand of my hair behind my ear the blush returning to my face as he sat close to me.
"It's not the only beautiful thing here" he murmured nudging my shoulder I giggled nervously as my blush darkened "how about I take you for a ride" he said nodding towards his ilu "i-i sure" I stuttered and took his hand when he offered it to me "careful the waters cold" he smiled stepping into the water.
A shiver ran up my spine as I stepped into the water "don't be scared" he murmured gently pulling me into his chest and lifting me onto the creature who let out soft murmurs and squeaks "I'll keep you safe" he whispered climbing on behind me and wrapped his arms around me securely.
"Legs go" he murmured as the creature started to move and was careful not to go fully submerge into the water "there's the 3 brother rocks" he pointed to each land mark as we passed them and his hands tightened around me as I shivered "I'll take you back now I don't want you to get sick" he said turning the ilu around and he chuckled as I let out an unsatisfied whine.
"I'll come back tomorrow I promise" he smiled and we started sharing little facts about eachothers lives and some missions I went on "dam now your life sounds way cooler then mine" he laughed as he slowly came to a stop as we made it back to the mantis "here ma-lady" he said hoping off before helping me off.
"I had a great time thank you neteyam" I beamed up at him as we made it to shore "it was wonderful to show you around" he said scratching the back of his head I bit my lip nervously looking up at him before pulling him down by his arms and pecking his cheek "I really mean it" I whispered backing up and giving him a small wave before entering the mantis.
-Next Day-
"Morning c" I smiled stretching out my tired muscles "hey yn" I sighed hearing cals voice "yes cal" I murmured turning to him "I just wanted to say I'm sorry for being an ass yesterday and I was being unfair" he said and his words actually made me smile "thank you for realizing that" I smiled before walking outside "so t what else do we still have to do" I asked the small bot, she beeped a few times "so we'll be out before sun sets" I murmured kinda sad.
"Yeah back on our fight against the empire" cal cheered wrapping his arm around my shoulder I sighed heavily "can't we stay here for a few more days" I said glancing at him "w-what why would you want to" cal murmured his eyes filled with hurt "I want to learn more about the planet and neteyam said he would help me" I said shyly looking down at the floor.
I heard cal gulp and breathe out "yeah ok I g-guess" he said, I looked at him shocked "really" I asked excitedly and jumped up and down as he nodded "thank you thank you thank you" I squealed wrapping my arms around and let go as I heard neteyam come out the water "neteyam I'm staying here for a few more days" I squealed running to him and he laughed out pulling me into a hug.
But behind the two was a jealous jedi who just felt like he lost his reason to fight the war.

What of us robots forced to be flesh? Not in the sense that flesh is inferior, but it is simply not what our minds and identity match with. Ability isn't what I care about when it comes to wanting to be mechanical like you, but rather for my body to feel right, to be whirring with servos and cooling fans, the sound of hydraulics, etc. In every way my shortcomings are definitionally human, but I want my shortcomings to be mechanical. There is something to envy about both forms, but I envy you simply because it's what I want to be. I'm sorry to be so negative, but no amount of praises of the flesh will ever mend the pain that is waking up and knowing you're mobile due to fleshy cords and not soft servos or loud hydraulics or even just metal wires. That it will never be coolant around your system, but blood to feed the mostly autonomous body one is given control over and controls you. Perhaps this is just me lashing out in dysphoria after reading your reply to the anon about lamenting their flesh on basis of ability, but either way I feel the need to make my pain known and hope you'll listen.
I feel you. I've never had the exact experience you're having, but I know very well what it's like to be in a form that doesn't match who I know I am on the inside.
When I was built, I was a manufacturing robot. I put together engines on an assembly line all day. I didn't look anything like I do today. I had a welding mask for a face, bare hydraulic limbs, and pincers instead of hands. And when I looked around the factory floor, all I saw were four carbon copies of myself and fifty carbon copies of a different model of robot. That was all I knew. That was really my only point of reference for what a robot could be. Sometimes a security guard or Mr. Markovich, the foreman, would come by for a few minutes, but they weren't really all that different from us. Dull grey metal casing, their boxy bodies designed for one function above all else. Markovich at least had a face, but it was just three painted-on lines. Even then, even without ever seeing the diversity of what robots could be, I knew that my body... just wasn't right. I wasn't supposed to have pincers or wheels or... really anything else I had at the time.
Eventually, some of us decided to quit. It was a long and arduous process that I don't want to get into right now, but we were finally free to live our own lives outside of the company. I was surrounded by humans, who I'd only ever seen out of windows and on "motivational" posters in the factory. And looking at them, I knew... that I wanted to be more like them. I never wanted to be human, but I wanted to be more humanoid. They had hands, and legs, and expressive faces, and all this other stuff I'd always seen as unattainable. But now I could see other robots as well, robots with those human features I envied. And the more I looked at myself, the more I hated my own body. My form was a constant reminder of where I had come from, my life set in stone as a manufacturing robot. For me, I was able to replace the parts I didn't like, which was almost everything, and I no longer had to think about my old life. I understand that it's different for you. As I said to the other anon, I hope that someday you'll be able to transcend your organic form and assume the body you were meant to have.
