Alyx's wish
So Alyx's wish was for him to gain what was lost from him right? We see it as his youth. But what if its more than that? What is something that Jaune has that represents his broken spirit? What ancestral blade that represents everything he ever wanted to do and be lays shattered with pieces of it missing in the void? What if, the next time Jaune draws Crocea Mors's broken form, it is made whole. What if next time when he is forced once again in a position to save someone he loves, his sword is whole and he finally is able to move past the eleventh hour? That all his doubt and anger and self hatred is washed away like rust on armor and his blade and shield become one once more?

What are your thoughts on WR development overall and your thoughts on WR being developed/made canon in V10?
Ugh I am going to ramble about everything here I can feel it...well you asked for it. I apologize for none of it, and if you all hate me at the end well I don't mind.
Volume 6 and before are pretty much great. They go from kinda at odds to tentative friends, learning to trust, and rely on each other, best friends, pining over one and other and V6 was a loooot of WR for us to feast on.
Afterward I felt like it got sidetracked. There could be various reasons for this (in hindsight I feel like Penny being given a way bigger role so her death could hit harder is to blame for part of this because realistically how long has Ruby known Penny? A month?)
Even if you don't like the ship they're supposed to be canon best friends so I take personal issue with almost all of volume 9.
I think it was sloppy writing that didn't move the story forward, and even though I don't care about Bees I feel like they still got shafted since they basically were forced to confess to move things along, and them doing so made them miss out on the sister/supposed friend and her problems, and only showcased the worst sides of the relationship.
For example Yang let's Ruby scream at Weiss but only moves to do something when Blake gets yelled at. Blake and Ruby still have...less dialogue than Ruby does with Ren I think etc.
Jaune was too present merely because his entire deal took away from Ruby's imo.
I've said it before but frankly Nora falling and learning who she is away from Ren so when she sees him in V10 she's ready for the relationship is far more satisfying to me narratively.
Leave Jaune above ground so he has to deal with the fact that he thinks he failed his friends and they all died and let him learn from that experience instead.
This also doesn't take into account that Jaune's one interesting change in 9 (being old) is taken away via random deaging (although I guess this makes deaging canon and hey young maria this is how dwr can still win! more at 11!)
Generally when characters go through a volume you want some sort of arc for them to go and change through. Weiss gets none of that. Out of all the characters nothing really happens to her, and she doesn't change at all. She's just sad about Atlas. Neat.
There's no time for it just like there's no real time for Ruby.
In Ruby's own words 'gotta help Jaune right?' and they do. Ruby removes herself from the census, which is how its framed, and they stop to...help Jaune.
There are a few moments that are WR'ish in 9. The Nevermore summon, Weiss believing in Ruby, and calling her name first etc, but overall Weiss's main job is to backslide.
I said it before but in the market Neo, the perfect assassin is after Ruby, and they split up. Weiss goes 'gross nosehairs', and ditches her best friend who she already knows by that point is NOT doing well.
This is not Volume 1. This Weiss is not that petty, and she's literally had to manhandle corpses. The fact that she wouldn't stay near her canonical best friend, and leader is asinine, and only happens so she can be alone to meet the smith.
Even if Weiss can't help Ruby fight Neo she's an extra pair of eyes (and Neo doesn't care how crowded it is in the market), and just being there for Ruby can help.
With all that said RWBY is big into symbolism. When WR are together in almost all the side spin off material it means something. Manga Anthologies has them making heart eyes and flirting like every other page. Ice Queendom was a love letter to WhiteRose (precious?). The movies, etc.
When their weapons rest next to each other on screen like the Bees do? It means something. When their flowers break ranks to be near each other (and Weiss's flower is the lily please note)? This means something.
Ruby can stand and jump from missile to missile but has to wrap her arms around Weiss to stay seated?
If Chibi continues it's pattern of predicting things in the main plot then the fact that Weiss is the woodsman in the fairy tale means a loooot as in several versions of that fairy tale the woodsman marries little red after helping her deal with the wolf problem (which varies by the story).
They're the knight and princess for each other. Ruby comes into Weiss's live turns it upside down, and helps her change. Likes her for her genuinely and wants to be her friend at the start. Through this she changes the world for Weiss, and helps her grow, and Weiss in turn helps Ruby be the leader she can be.
But yeah I guess that's just friends things and they should date some guys they've had like a half a dozen lines with instead? I don't get it really.
She and Oscar punch each other in the face, and they talk about strategy. Oscar has a younger kid crush on her, and Ruby is awkward because that's her headmaster in this kids head. Oh right he went in for a hug she ignored. Peak romance.
Jaune and Weiss have almost no interactions, and when he saves her at Haven her response isn't to be like 'omg i love you' it's 'keep doing it i have work to do'. Are they friends now? Sure, but that's about as far as it goes.
It remains that outside of group hugs the only person that's allowed to initiate contact with Weiss almost all the time outside of battle is Ruby.
Ruby knows when she needs help and will guide her away when she needs it, but other people don't' touch Weiss unless she does it first because they know she doesn't like it...except Ruby.
I have tried to look at other relationships for them, and I honestly don't see them as realistic.
Even Penny would need a lot more development to make it work. I get that it's cute and wholesome but they've known each other for again a month, and Penny just defers to Ruby.
Ruby needs a partner and equal not a submissive enabler. That's a relationship you have with a pet, and not a person.
Now if Maria were young and hot that'd be different...
Anyway...

Ruby and Weiss are partners. If they're allowed to have the much needed conversations they never seem to get, ie haven, ever after, Ruby's mom, everything, etc.
Then is it possible? Maybe. If they do go WR I suspect it'll be more hints, and slow ramp up until the final season.
I would expect it either on the eve of the final battle, or literally during it maybe as in Weiss gets feds up with waiting, and decides to do something about it.
More likely at this point is they'll both just end up single with maybe faint hints so fans can imagine what they want for it.
Would I prefer it if it was WR so the team can truly be family? Yes, but I don't even know if we're getting a volume 10 at all to be honest. The fact that it wasn't announced at the last festival, and we get an extended eppy, and then nothing after the last movie?
Not making me feel super confident. I could be wrong though. On many things. Except Young Maria.

How I think changes are represented regarding team RWBY, JNPR, STRQ
Fair warning: This post is loooong
Team RWBY- Outfit's colour pallets
Volume 2 outfits won't be in here cause I think that's a whole different problem
Ruby Rose
-Beacon Arc: Red and Black, this is the start, nothing much to say
-Mistral Arc- Atlas Arc: Add white, her mother colour, this may be because she start to follow her footsteps, do what her mother did, because she believes her mother is the perfect Huntress she needs to becomes
-Prediction: In Volume 10 she will have less white?
Weiss Schnee
-Beacon Arc- The Schnee's colour is white- it represents snow, ice, cold- and her outfit has cold blue, she got away from the coldness of her family, the ice is slowly melt
-Volume 4-5: The blue is now dominate the white, I also think this blue is...bluer than the Beacon Arc's blue, the impact her friends had left on her is so strong the ice still continue to melt even when she's back home even though it's dull and lifeless but BUT
-Volume 6: I never notice this detail until I started to think about all of this. The RED scalf, she didn't have it in Vol.4-5 because she was at home, she was under Jaques' thump again Whitley is too every time we see him he still not refuse Jaquess no red no RED on him. At the start of Vol.6 she's backs with her friends, her teammates HER FAMILY. Wow that made me kinda emotional, anyway enough rambling
-Atlas Arc: Even if she's back 'house' she's still with her real family so she still has that red on her and the blue now is more like ocean too
Blake Belladonna
-Beacon Arc: White, black and a hint of purple. At this point in time her dominant colour is black because she still in her 'From Shadow' phase *wink wink*
-Mistral Arc: This is a, kinda, special situation. Noticeably, Blake adds purple- her Aura colour- to the outfit, still not sure what this means though. But that not all, before Blake had the black to cover the white part of her outfit, but now it's the opposite, you can say she is wrapped in purity.
-Atlas Arc: Another thing to consider is the black on her outfit slowly shift into dark purple/violet-> she slowly step out of the shadow and become her real self. So the black-ish/purple-ish, maybe the black is the White Fang and after Blake's arc in Vol.4-5 it now wraps around her with the white?
Yang Xiao Long
-Beacon Arc: This is a bit hard; Yang colours, as this post points out, are brassy yellow (most likely her hair), orche, brown and black. Here's the problem, her palette doesn't change at all except in Vol.4
-Volume 4: She still has all the colour but is wrapped in grey (Mercury's colour, maybe) and if I'm right, gold can be dissolved by mercury, so that's how her defeated state is represent. Note: when she gets back on her feets, the jacket is gone
-Volume 5- Atlas Arc: The only thing I can say about her changes is that she's no longer the thrill seeker she was at Beacon and has more practical outfit choice
Team JNPR- Weapons
Jaune Arc
-Beacon Arc: Crocea Mors-The hand down weapon of his family, as he's trying to become the warior like those before him
-Mistral Arc: The shield+Pyrrha's crown thingy. The weapon is now more him, and it represent his growth at Beacon but consider himself unimportant
-Volume 7-8: Atlas upgrade. Less that destructive 'I'm not important' thought, more mature as a fight and a leader
-Volume 9: 3 words- the Ever After (and maybe also V8 final)
Pyrrha Nikos
Miló and Akoúo̱
Nora Valkyrie
-Pre-RWBY: A wooden hammer
-Beacon Arc- Atlas Arc: Magnhild-She is no longer that scared little girl back at S but a bubbly enthusiastic pink lightning 'still little' girl but with low self-esteem problem. Interestingly, no Atlas upgrade cuz her arc, changes, growth happen in V8 so
-Prediction: weapon upgrade for Nora in V10
Lie Ren
Pre-RWBY: His father dagger
Beacon Arc-Mistral: StormFlower-No longer the boy who stand by, he now actively helping people but also have problem with suppressing his feeling
Atlas Arc: Atlas upgrade. Ren has changed after his arc in V5, learn to express his emotion more yay [V9 Epilogue] and now he's one who try to keep the team together, good for him
Team STRQ- Outfit
Now is the part where I speculate the most
When we heard story about Summer and every time Ruby remebered her, she wears [pic.1] but when the tree showed Ruby the real Summer that is not perfect she wears [pic.2]
Qrow tried to be better in V7 and to signify that growth, he got outfit upgrade
Tai and Raven hadn't have their outfit changed, but those are what we saw throughout the course of the show
✨Speculation time✨ this kinda stupid so take this with a grain of salt someone pointed put that Raven's arm guards are similar to Summer's, so what if at Beacon one of them had a significant growth and that was a gift from the other *shrug*. Qrow's old outfit had a similar neck to that of Taiyang👀 no one else like that, maybe(?). I think those who changed are more likely the Branwens, yeah
#Sorry in advance for any grammar mistake#There that one time Penny sit in the same screen with JNR#She a girl who is also a weapon and she was rebuild sooo eh#I'm not sure if Oscar count#RWBY#Team RWBY#Team JNPR#Team STRQ#Ruby Rose#Weiss Schnee#Blake Belladonna#Yang Xiao Long#Jaune Arc#Nora Valkyrie#Pyrrha Nikos#Lie Ren#Summer Rose#Taiyang Xiao Long#Raven Branwen#Qrow Branwen

Do you have any hopes/predictions for RWBY's Vacuo arc?
New character outfits. As expected for every new 3 volumes. Hopefully they get creative with the character designs, as Vacuo calls for looser or even lesser clothing.
SSSN & CFVY return, it only makes sense that since we got Roman Holiday references in Volume 9, I think team SSSN & CFVY should make their grand returns with new outfits and nice references to their respective books. Nothing too crazy but I want these guys to have the spotlight they deserve as they are fan favorites and haven’t been seen since the Beacon arc. I especially want to see more characterization of Sun & Neptune and within the teams in general. I also want them to have at least one like amazing ass fight. I want to see crazy combos and Sun with like multiple clones or something.
Jaune & Ruby to get better fight scenes. Volume 9 pushed them in the right direction & the Justice League movies showcased how Ruby SHOULD fight. I need them to continue this momentum into the series proper and give us good quality full length Ruby & Jaune fights. Like I want them to have the treatment Weiss, Blake, & Yang had in Volume 9. Especially since they are both in their newborn states.
Ruby’s arc to continue. She just started the path of healing and now I want her to journey through relighting that spark that was her ultimate strength. I want her teammates to really show that they’re there for her. I want at least one individual heart to heart with each member, specially Weiss. I really need to see the relationship between Ruby and Weiss develop.
Weiss angst. She had snippets in Volume 9 & the movies, but clearly Ruby wasn’t the only one going through it. I want Weiss to showcase feelings of guilt about her dad, Ironwood, the events of Atlas, the events of the void, not being there for Ruby, etc. With her family & friends, she could learn to grow as a person and get stronger in the process.
Vacuo headmaster. I heard of him in the books but I need to see this guy in action.
Summer Rose. We’ve been playing the mystery card for 11 years now. It’s time to actually show us what happened between her and Salem, and see why Raven fears her so much.
#I swear I thought I posted this already#I'm sooooo sorry for the delay#this is just on the top of my head#rwby#team sssn#team cfvy#ruby rose#weiss schnee#jaune arc#summer rose#greenlight volume 10#ask blue

RWBY Beyond Predictions: Emerald
So, having not made a RWBY post in some time and wanting to get some thoughts down before RWBY Beyond air, I have decided to make a prediction post series. This is going to be focused more toward what loose ends/set up I think need to be addressed before V10.
Spoiler Warning: This post contains spoilers for volume 8-9, the full RWBY V9 Animatic and the two Team CVFY novels
1.) Setting up Emerald's Personnel Arc in the Vacuo Arc

The Full RWBY V9 Animatic did a really nice job I feel of setting up the stakes and personal arcs of key characters. However, one omission I'd like to see addressed before V10 is what is Emerald's personal arc going to be like.
Now I think it's pretty safe to say that there is going to be some friction between Emerald and characters who haven't seen her since V3. I do not think it is a stretch to think Team CVFY has some strong opinions about Emerald and winning their trust is going to take time. There is also a case to be made that Emerald share blame in Nolan being the Sole survivor of Team BRNZ so there is going to be tension there as well.
There are two other possible Emerald plot point I am keeping on eye out for. The first is who she is without/beyond Cinder. So much of Emerald's identity is wrapped up around Cinder and it pairs well with how Nora is going through something similar.
The other plot point is how much if any processing has Emerald done regarding her decision to effectively defect has she done? Now I imagine in the time since V8 ended there has been multiple schools of thought regarding this. Did Emerald defect because of Cinder, Salem or a combination of the two? What does Emerald think about Cinder now?
These are thing Emerald is going to have to sort through that I don't think we as the audience have an answer for yet.

Your take on the recent RT announcement of a storybook anthology series to show what was happening in Remnant during volume 9?
I really feel like it's unnecessary at best at the moment and really doesn't give me any hope at all for... Anything going forward. XD
Like, 'this shows what's happening in Remnant during V9' V9 happened over the course of like a day and a half. And yes, it's obvious to the audience through the visual of the ships over Vacuo that it's been at least aa bit longer for the people of Vacuo than for RWBY+J in the Ever After (which I didn't want.) But if they were doing V10, I think they could stand to actually confirm how long they were gone in the show before they're like 'aren't you curious about what happened during all that time?'
Number one, it makes me feel like they will just brush over any time gap and have RWBYJ be like 'Well I guess it's been six months' or whatever and then move on quickly. Number two, despite caring about and liking a lot of the characters left in Vacuo, my hope is below zero for the fact that we'll see anything good or worthwhile at all.
Here are my predictions:
We'll get a minor cameo from Team SSSN and Team CFVY working with Team FNKI or something and at best Sun will ask about Blake and Nora will offhandedly say something about Blake belonging to Yang and Sun will be like 'oh, good for them.' Nora and Ren will get back together. Winter will get a ton of focus and weirdly will be like the only person really allowed to grieve for the presumed dead kids in more than a passing way. Maria and Pietro will also make a minor appearance and the anthology will say like one thing about Pietro missing Penny, but there's not gonna be any info on what happened to them out in the tundra or how they got to Vacuo. Qrow will get like a moment of acting bummed about Ruby and Yang and then Robyn will put a hand on his shoulder and Qrow will just move on. Theodore will make an appearance being 'the good member of Oz's inner circle' where he'll make some comments about never trusting Ironwood and will say something to Oz like 'it's a good thing you had those girls picking up the slack' and Oz will be like 'I know,' and they'll mention Glynda in passing. Mercury and Tyrian will be dealt with in this anthology.
And honestly, I could like all of them so much and I still wouldn't buy this because 'what Ren and Nora did in passing while Ruby was committing suicide' obviously doesn't matter as much to me as seeing Ruby actually go through the plot. And there being enough time for an 'anthology' to happen in Vacuo does damage imo to the main story because it gets consequences of V8 for Remnant and personal conflicts and moments I'd have liked to see addressed in the actual show for characters all brushed aside.
Also some people in the Discord chat I'm in mentioned that they think it's possible that the 'Beyond' portion of this is concerning.
As in, we might be getting important things like Team RWBY+J's return to Remnant and reunion with the others in this instead of waiting for V10 out of a desire to quickly tie up loose ends in the fear that V10 will never happen.
I've been on the 'V10 will probably happen but it might be the last season and probably will get rushed hardcore' train, but everything that RT does with RWBY makes me feel like V10 might not happen after all, or at the very least will only happen if the projects they make sell very well.

"It was planned from the start" is the equivalent of Nostradamus predictions in RWBY community. And my hatred for Monty "whisperers".
There have been many discussions in the RWBY community about what has been planned in the show, what has not. If that is good or bad etc. I think almost EVERYONE in the RWBY community has experienced such discussions at least once, especially if they were active during BB shipping days.
I am not here to talk about what has been or what has not been planned in the show, rather, i am here to talk just about how vaguelly CRWBY talks about what it wants from RWBY, and how the completely insane fanbase of RWBY instantly uses any vagueries as proof that something has been "planned from the start".
Nostradamus, what?
Some of you might wonder, what does Nostradamus have to do with any of this? Everything. You see, Nostradamus is known for "predicting the future" back in 16th century. And many things that have historically happened after his death have been said to have been predicted by him, such as Napoleons rise to power, Hitlers rise to power and even 9/11.
And yet, all of this is... Well... Bullshit.
Despite his fame if one reads his predictions one can realize that they are incredibly vague and general. To such an extent that they could apply to MULTIPLE different events in history. This is actually a tactic is often employed by liars to deceive people.
Because at the end of the day, if you are general and vague enough, people will fill in their own gaps in what you mean.
RWBY Plans?
Which brings me back to RWBY. A lot of IDEAS of RWBY have been established from the very start, and even talked about in interviews by Monty himself. Monty wanted there to be organic romances, for the characters to mature over time together with the audience etc.
The thing is. A lot of these statements of intention are vague. They are vague ideas of what Monty WANTS to do with RWBY. But not specific ways.
We also know very well that a LOT of things in RWBY have changed heavily. Raven is a great example, because post V2 the writers straight up admitted that only Monty knew what he wanted to do with Raven, so they had to improvise and pretend that V2 post credits scene with Raven and Yang did not exist.
V9 for example was a Volume that was vaguelly planned before, a separate world to explore the characters. But besides that, its specifics have not been at all decided. Hell, even when this Volume was supposed to happen was not decided or planned at all beforehand. As admited by the writers themselves.
But many of this, we already know. We know that RWBY has been planned in vague directions and intentions with specifics being figured out, in some cases literally while the show was STILL airing.
That matters little however. Regardless if something is planned or not, what people care about is the quality of the work. Unless one is a RWBY fanatic that is.
Monty "Whispering"
In the most recent volumes, with more and more information of documentaries and writers thoughts coming out, and especially with advent of BB being confirmed. Many people started seeking out old clips, especially old clips of Monty to start and claim things.
Many of his vague or general statements started being treated as "CONFIRMATIONS" by Monty himself about how everything in V9 and other times has been "planned from the start".
Tweets like these became very common from pieces of shit that are Monty "Whisperers". One of the most famous one being the clip where i think its Barbara asking whether or not she can confirm a same sex romance and getting answered negatively by Kerry. Which would not be disgusting on its own, but for one thing, Monty was in that same video. And despite Monty saying NOTHING in that video, people started shouting from the rooftops "SEE! MONTY PLANNED IT FROM THE START" "MONTY CONFIRMED BB" and other such statements.
And its fucking disgusting.
And before V9, some of these people were the ones i activelly followed. But after V9, and seeing the criticism it received, they seemingly completely changed overnight and became as disgusting as the worst of the fanatics.
And this kind of behaviour is the most disgusting of all.
I have often said that using Monty to criticize the show or defend it, is disgusting. The man is dead. Let him rest. And yet, these people use his corpse as Nostradamus of the RWBY community. They look at his vague or general statements, and then apply them to SPECIFIC instances in the show to say that "LOOK, CONFIRMATION!".
And what else am i supposed to say besides it being disgusting?
I dont care about plans
I want to end with the simple statement. I do not care if RWBY has been planned or not. We know of instances where things have been vaguelly planned and where they were written literally when the show was still airing. We know that. None of that changes the quality of the writing.
What i DO care about is this recent phenomena of RWBY fanatics treating Monty as Nostradamus. Finding his old clips and then constantly applying his general/vague words for their own ends. Despite saying that they hate when people use Montys name in vain, these people do it most often, and in most disgusting of ways, directly not just invoking Monty but his words.
Remember when people gave shit to people who said "Monty said that team RWBY is a sisterhood!"? I do. And yet now these fanatics do the exact same shit, taking Montys general words and then applying it to their own ends. And then they feel self-righteous about it.
Fuck em.
And this is kind of the entire point of this thread. To point out this disgusting trend, trend from people i once considered to be normal fans. But it seems that such fans rarely last.

No. 1 on my list of top animated series for 2023: "RWBY"
youtube
It was hard to choose which series would be number on on this list. This anime-inspired science fantasy action-adventure series joins the next six series on this list, with a total score of five in animation, voice acting, music, and story. Although I may have been too generous with those ratings, the ninth volume/season of RWBY really blew me away, more than any other series. It remains more captivating than previous volumes. It has mature themes such as death, suicide, blood, torture, animal death, and physical (and emotional) abuse. Those themes are not treated lightly, and shown with care, as opposed to gen:LOCK.
This series centers on four protagonists (Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladonna, and Yang Xiao Long) who are training to be warriors. The ninth volume has a classic conflict between good vs. evil, intricate storytelling, horror elements, character development, and strong visuals. The protagonists are stranded in the Ever After, a magical land. Even so, they still have their superpowers-of-sorts. The magic and sci-fi elements are often emphasized. Representation is stronger than ever. There have been LGBTQ+ characters before Volume 9, but the scene between Blake and Yang is a stand-out for 2023. Both realize their feelings for each other and kiss. Even so, Volume 9 could have been longer. RWBY should have more Black and Brown characters in the cast, at the very minimum.
Some predicted Warner Bros. Discovery's bankruptcy, due to the corporate mismanagement resulting from CEO David Zaslav's actions since May 2021. This includes a HBO Max content purge (with some titles turned into tax write-offs), removal of many Warner Bros' animated programs from streaming platforms, and cuts to Turner Classic Movies. Bankruptcy could put Rooster Teeth's RWBY into peril, unless Crunchyroll buys Rooster Teeth. Regardless of Rooster Teeth's documented internal problems, such as sexual harassment, bad work conditions, and discrimination, a buyout is possible considering the existing Crunchyroll-Rooster Teeth relationship . After all, the film Justice League x RWBY: Super Heroes and Huntsmen, released in two parts in April 2023 and October 2023, has been well-received.

This might sound flippant but I don’t think we should worry Too much just yet. Not only did we have the Justine league crossover movie this year, we ALSO had volume 9! And that was after a two year wait period. RT had a lot of pies and also with the reputation thing it’s probably not wise to hold the convention because if people only come for rwby, they’re paying a lot of money for essentially empty spaces. Not that ppl still don’t like stuff AT RT but in terms of rwby yeah.
We’re used to quick turnarounds when it comes to the volumes but that was also Not good for the people making it. It’s still way too soon to consider rwby canceled considering it hasn’t even been a full year since the last volume wrapped. We don’t have any Good News, but we also don’t have any Bad News which I think is good to keep in mind
And who knows maybe we’ll have information in the summer or fall despite no convention. Don’t lose hope just yet. It’s not over until we get the word.
And even if V9 is the last season while bittersweet it doesn’t detract any of the joy we already have and can still have by rewatching and talking to others in the community <3
rooster teeth as a company is crumbling. if it doesn’t have the funds to justify hosting the convention they’ve held since rwby’s debut, then it certainly doesn’t have the funds to justify hiring back the entire animation team, paying the prominent out-of-house voice talent, and selling their biggest moneymaking ip off to another company.
and while that would be the best case scenario, likely being sold to crunchyroll, that still doesn’t give rwby stability for the future beyond v10. and production would likely be very different, and we wouldn’t be able to solidly predict the quality we would typically expect from a volume.
states fearfully at gen:lock season 2
i truly don’t mean to fearmonger, but i’ve been one of the more hopeful people about a rwby renewal. at this rate, with how much work it’s taking to get v10 even greenlit, the possibility of v11 happening is even more shaky. the crew knows this, which means the writing will probably be framed in a way to wrap up the story in just one volume, which is impossible.
that wouldn’t be the writers’ fault, but it’s not what the show deserves.
either way i look at it, there are aspects that aren’t ideal. it’s not in question that rwby’s production will drastically change from here on out, but it’s just so hard to begin thinking about that when it’s been so long without the announcement that v10 is even happening. i’m just trying to prep myself for the worst case scenario.
#i am no expert on the animation industry so don’t bully me if i made incorrect assumptions#this is just my own take on where things stand#rwby#asks

I'm just gonna come out and say it.
As much as I really, *really* hope to be proven wrong, I am 100% convinced without a doubt that RWBY Volume 10 is never happening. There's too many red flags around the place regarding the show's future that I just cannot bring myself to believe that it has one anymore.
Some of my reasons are definitely petty (i.e. We got a lesbian kiss between two main characters in volume 9 and you know what happens to western animated shows that include those.) but between things like WB having a ton of reasons to be scummy and cut costs, the controversy RT is constantly mired in, and Crunchyroll pulling out of the series, idk, things just look way more grim (hah) than other people seem to be willing to admit, I think.
I think the IP will be kept on life support for a while with low-budget spinoff content (I think V-Tuber Ruby is indeed the first of these spinoffs) before the show is probably officially axed some time in 2025 or so after a long period of silence to string us along.
I do have a history of pessimism regarding media I enjoy, so it's a very real chance that I'm proven wrong, but hey, I'm just sharing what I earnestly believe, and what I earnestly believe is that RWBY as it exists now has ended, and we will never progress past this Vacuo cliffhanger.
We may get a reboot come a few year's time when the nostalgia cycle comes around, but I predict that'll be pretty soulless with a heavy hand from corporate guiding it.
The entire idea of #greenlightvolume10 reeks to me of the team being desperate to prove to corporate that the show is popular and marketable, and let's face it, it's not gonna work.

Jess to me might just be the best new character introduced in the 2010s by both DC and Marvel. Her personality adding a brilliant expansion on the entire concept of the Green Lantern Corps. By having the newest wielder of a weapon empowered by willpower and overcoming fear be someone with severe social anxiety, agoraphobia, and lingering trauma from seeing her friends get killed on a hunting trip. A teamup with Jaune was something that I don't think anyone predicted, but made logical sense once you really thought about it. That combined with the Rusted Knight story in Volume 9 might have made 2023 the "Year of the Jaune" honestly. The first time in ages that it seemed like they could do anything remotely interesting with the character. Mind you, I get the feeling it's probably gonna be downhill again for him come Volume 10. XD
That explains her reaction when she was shut into that small room with Jaune in part 1! Ooof, poor Jess. She sounds like such an interesting character who has been through too much.
It seems like there's a delicate balance with Jaune in RWBY. If he gets a lot of focus then it can provoke accusations that he's being treated like 'the' main character when it should be team RWBY. He's an important supporting character with a life saving Semblance, and should get the according development and time spent on him.
I hope we get to see him struggle with being older on the inside, and of how much he missed his team while in the Ever After.
It would also be nice if they'd just greenlight Volume 10 already.

I started writing a Kingdom Hearts/RWBY crossover fic post-KH3 where instead of ending up in Quadratum like canon, Sora winds up in the World Tree which takes him to Remnant. Riku eventually finds out about the existence of said tree and follows him there. If written fully, it'll cover volumes 1-9 and end in 9 since that's when they wind up in the Tree again. It'll start pre-volume 1 a few weeks before the girls start attending Beacon. Sora will arrive during the V5 Yang Trailer, Riku will stumble upon Raven's camp but find Sora later on in Vale. I'd also like to point out that there will be no Heartless or Master of Masters here and it will solely focus upon their journey throughout Remnant. They will have their magic temporarily taken away before arrival, because magic is not a common occurrence in Remnant and the Tree wanted to help them blend-in, and they will each be given aura/semblance instead but still have their physical keyblade wielding skills. As for romance, Soriku will be the KH pairing. Riku has feelings for Sora but hasn't confessed while Sora will be trying to figure out how deep his feelings for Riku go (he will figure it out by the end don't worry). The RWBY ones will be the canonically explored ones (Arkos, Renora, Bumbleby) but others such as Blacksun may be referenced or minimally explored to throughout depending on my mood. If you are homophobic, don't even consider reading my story if I ever publish it, because it is not meant for you and neither are RWBY/KH as series to begin with.
Here's a basic summary of how this fic may go per Volume
Pre-Volume 1: Sora bonds with the Rose-Xialong family and learns basics about Remnant while taking a much deserved break. Riku is searching for Sora and ends up getting assistance from Raven after proving himself worthy of her time.
Volume 1: Sora goes to Vale with Ruby/Yang to see Yang off only to fight Roman and get acknowledged by Professor Ozpin along with Ruby. Riku intervened as Cinder was about to hit Sora with a powerful magic attack, and helped Sora/Ruby/Glynda repel her. The three get invited to attend Beacon and accept, leading to the formation of the teams and Sora/Riku being a duo instead of four person team because of the odd number of students for the year. They learn how to be students (Riku excels Sora does not) and huntsmen together and make new friends and enemies.
Volume 2: More challenges await as a threat rises. Sora and Riku gladly help their friends take on these enemies, but are unaware of the true darkness under the horizon. Will the light prevail as it always does or will the darkness be too strong for the heroes to squander? Only time will tell. Meanwhile, the two are settling in this new world, and pondering over their feelings for each other.
Volume 3: Sora thought he'd get a break in this new word and enjoy it with his best friend. Riku thought he'd be able to have some fun with his crush in the Vytal Festival. Neither could've predicted the tragedy that was coming. Hope is shattered, and light is in pieces. Innocence is lost, and they will never be the same again.
Volume 4: What does one do when the light falls to darkness? Sora, Riku & co will have to figure this out the hard way as they head to Mistral searching for any light that can guide them to a much needed victory against the dark. With RWBY scattered and RJNR despairing, is there any light left or has the dark taken over all of their hearts?
Volume 5: They are but a few sparks, and the darkness is vast. How will the light prevail against such overwhelming odds? Perhaps the return of old friends, new allies, and hope they had long needed will arise help them triumph over darkness.
Volume 6: Everyone is together again, and Sora could not be happier. However, there are still many challenges ahead as the group must head to Atlas to hide the Relic of Knowledge warn General Ironwood of Salem's incoming invasion. Old and new enemies, secrets, troublesome and confusing feelings and more threaten to tear him and his new friends apart, but Riku won't let him give up now.
Volume 7: After all this time, Sora and Riku are now huntsmen! They will give it their all to protect Atlas and Mantle from Salem's forces. However, light is stronger in some people's hearts than others. Will love prevail or will fear tear everyone apart?
Volume 8: Sora's worst fear has come true; the dark is stronger than the light. He and Riku might not be able to save everyone like they had been able to in the past. However, that doesn't mean they won't risk it all to fight for every life. Will light be able to overcome the odds and save they day or will they fall into darkness?
Volume 9: The heroes saved the day, but it came at too high a cost. Now, Sora and Ruby grieve over the loss of a friend they failed not once but twice all while dealing with a world whose weirdness reminds him of home and feelings that may change things between him and Riku forever. As the World Tree appears before them, Sora and Riku must ask themselves: What are you? Are you the same boys that left home? Do you even want to return knowing the fight against the darkness will never end? Is there even any light in your heart anymore? What these boys decide will determine their futures.
Feel free to give suggestions if you have any ideas of specific events or character interactions you want to see. Note that Sora and Riku are the only Kingdom Hearts characters physically present aside from flashbacks.

What are your predictions for rwby volume 9?
ive seen all of v9, but for v10 i think, if thats the last volume, that since everyone knows about salem the whole world will kinda join forces and want to stop her and when salem summons the brothers theyll see that the world is all united to defeat her and theyll decide not to erase remnant and since salem cant die theyll ask the original goddess to take her into the tree and help her
#i also dont think that the brothers would stay on remnant i think theyd come to judge and maybe help out a bit after salem and then dip out#rwby spoilers#they probably could just stop salem from being alive or immortal but i dont think theyd do that since she hasnt learned their lesson

RWBY Beyond Predictions: Vale
Spoiler warning: This post contains spoilers for V7-9 of RWBY and RWBY V9 Animatic as well as the two team CVFY Novels
Last we saw of Cinder was when she left the site of a destroyed Atlas/Mantle with Salem. At the time I thought the two of them were heading straight for Vacuo.

However, the RWBY V9 Animatic paints a different picture. According to Oobleck and Port who have recently fled Vale, Salem has set up shop in the vicinity of Vale and the city is gone. The usage of the word gone rather then destroyed is interesting to me. It paints the picture that while presumably waiting for Tyrian to prepare Vacuo for their arrival and locate the Summer Maiden, Salem and presumably Cinder attended to other matters in Vale.
Why are Salem and Cinder in Vale?
I think It is a safe assumption that they returned to Vale at the very least to search for the allusive Crown relic. Another possible reason is because the situation in Vale had changed. Salem has a mysterious informant in the area of Beacon who may have caught wind of something that Cinder and Salem needed to investigate on their own.
Who will be our POV Character?
This is a bit of a toss up between Cinder and Salem for me. It would be insightful to get into Cinder's head now that she has for want of a better word exercised the demons of her past. On the other hand so much of Salem's goals are still shrouded in mystery. We think she wants to end the world but are Ozpin and Tyrian reliable narrators?
The case for why both Ozpin and Tyrian are unreliable narrators for understanding Salem's endgame
Tyrian:
1.) Tyrian reveres Salem as a kind of death goddess to be worshiped and is probably working under an assumption that supports that
2.) If Cinder is the only one who knows the truth about Salem's true aims, I find it kind of hard to believe she would consider Team Remnant's attempts to stop the end of the world as misguided
Ozpin:
1.) Ozpin hasn't had a heart-to-heart with Salem since before the messy "divorce" and that was before the Great War so quite possibly well over 80 prior to V1.
2.) Due to a combination of the GOL's words and his own experiences Ozpin can only see the very worst in Salem so assuming her goal is the end of the world is kinda a given at this point.
3.) It's quite possible that Ozpin views Salem wanting to end the world as a foil to his own desires of stopping Salem and being granted eternal rest by the Gods.
Why not Tai or Glynda?
I think the writers have planted the seed that Glynda is MIA but are in no real hurry to confirm what happened to her. As for Tai I think he is another end game character who's involvement is going to be kept close to the chest.
Is the Crown in Vale?
I highly doubt it. However, for the sake of playing devils advocate lets say it is in Vale what would that accomplish for the story? Well other then shortening the series by one to three volumes not much comes to mind. Sure, this could make it so Vacuo is the final arc but why make a mad dash to to wrap up what remains of the story in just one to two volumes?
