I am not sad but fundamentally broken. My soul is so heavy that my eyes can't cry. My heart wants to share million things but my lips just lie. So no one will ever no the truth about me.

Some nights are darker than the void, no light pierces that veil of infinity, and others the stars shimmer and sparkle like a blanket made entirely of light. Doesn’t matter where you are in the world or what you did today. I’m hoping you’re happy. I hope you fall in love. I hope you find someone that elevates you. It takes a while to find that rarified air of joy to be happy for another but I’m getting close.

Occasionally life brings forward something so incredibly substantial before you, you collapse in your first impulse. none of us know how long it’s going to linger, but sadly, in due time, it can cause the butterflies to turn into knots. The wise ones amongst us, cherish and savour it; for they know everything is only momentary. the fools rush in hastily, eat their fill and then fend off. I wasn’t always responsive, but I did treasure every moment as much as I could.

On my darkest days when everything is rendered monochrome and all darkens ceaselessly, I hold those memories so close I can feel their gravity pierce into my skin. Where I faltered, where we all falter, it's when we aren't able to perpetrate everything to shrink into one perfect memory. Just as I had to learn to find beauty in broken things, we weren't too different after all. I'll remember you. I'll remember that in one instance our memories beheld alcohol-blurred countless fist bumps and missed exits; the scent of hummer black and donut crumbs whilst the next moment, they'd bring up sad 1 PM drunk playlists; a broken limb and chicken nugnugs. One strand of my hair and our children. Our funerals were fueled by liquor store runs, burnt ropes and cigarette burns. Speak too less, we're on the way home with no drake song. Speak too much, now I have a bruise on my fist.

We have scars, impressions, tastes, and the lingering motion of flesh in shadows, we have sins that brought us closest to heaven we ever been. Little deaths in flavoured rice spirits, I surrendered. We closed our eyes and saw red. but indeed, Itd be nice to recollect those memories which I lost to blackouts. I will recall just enough to live knowing that in my marrow, I once was your defeat and your savior at the same time. Not everyone can say that. But I can. One day, maybe, I will trip and fall in front of you again, If not, I will imbibe those memories until I’m full enough to doze, comfortably, forever on the regular but never after.
