Aragorn

Has an official Instagram and Facebook accounts as a head of state. He also has a private account that his friends follow him on: strideranger alternatively strangerranger or rangerdanger on tiktok. His insta consists solely of pictures of his horse, Arwen and occasionally videos of cool plants or wildlife. He captions thing like an old man. His Tiktok is tracking tutorials and again nature videos. He hates twitter and isn’t on it.

Legolas

All the social medias his names include princeofmirkwood, andmybow, and legolocks. Has over a million followers in insta, tiktok and twitter. He posts lots of glammy photos of himself in the woods and tutorials of how to keep your hair and makeup intact in the battlefield. He also edits slow mows of himself shooting orcs. Posts videos on tiktok of his various stone projects and his workout routine (the latter gets a lot of views) Everyone loses it when he and Legolas team up for a “elf braid vs dwarf braid” youtube video. Oh yes he also has a very popular youtube channel where he explains how to of various craft trades.

Pippin

Has made foolofatook his name for everything and also a hashtag. Huge on twitter and twitch, he also has insta and tiktok and a youtube channel with Merry. Said Youtube is very popular and involves pranks, media reviews, and him and Merry doing stupid shit

Merry

Does a lot of work on the channel with Pippin. Also has a twitch and twitter. Insta king people think he’s really cool. He is the kind of person who shares his progress on candy crush and duolingo. Tried to make merrychristmas his username but it was taken and so went with theweedprofessor. His tiktok is more popular than Pippin’s but Pippin’s twitter is more popular

Sam

Not huge on social media mostly got it because his friends peer pressured him into it. Has facebook and always says happy birthday to people on it but gets annoyed by all the politics. His instagram is samnotsowise alternatively gardeningamgee. Its super wholesome, lots of pictures of his plants and pets and him and Frodo. Sometimes he’ll post a poem

Frodo

Frodo would be on tumblr tho. Username is bagginit on insta and frodoninefingers on twitter which he never uses. His tumblr is ringringhello. He also has insta but rarely posts anything except occasionally a picture of Sam. He has a linguistics Youtube channel where he talks about elvish history and language. Actually the most political on social media this is because Frodo has a very strong moral compass and wants to get the word out about important issues.

Boromir

He’s a twitch streamer I’m sorry. He also has twitter at hornofgondor. Likes everyone of Merry and Pippin’s videos and posts and reposts them with captions like “love these guys!!!” Mostly shares memes on twitter and facebook very much dad vibes

nah brO BECAUSE LITERALLY I HAVE THOUGHT BOUT THAT. Literally since the conception of Clone Danny, I have thought about it. If only for, as you said, the COMEDY of it all. Plus I love writing romance.

Literally my motto for my aus is: A) is it plausible, B) is it FUNNY (and a secret third option C) is it ANGSTY)

Clone Talia would be an offshoot au of Clone^2 because idk how she'd fit into the original timeline, bUT, she'd exist. And to avoid confusion I'll call her Nasra - I thought about Tameka (which means twin) but I like Nasra better. "Talia and Nasra" just flows so nicely doesn't it?

Idk WHY there's a clone of Talia running around -- maybe the LoA made her, maybe n unknown organization who hates Batman and knows he has romantic ties to Talia, and started making a clone of her to fuck with him and then she got nabbed by a portal when she was still Danny's age and in the middle of training. She might be like Connor (??) and have memories and thus her training is more proficient than baby Dames.

Either way, regardless of how she was made, I think it's hilarious if she, much like baby Dames, immediately attacks Danny on sight. She falls into his city and Danny only has a moment to go "goddammit not agaIN" before he's fending off a very confused, very violent Nasra. Fortunately he's able to actually try and talk to her and be at least somewhat successful -- Nasra knows english. although even if she didn't, Danny would still be somewhat successful since he knows Arabic.

Also Bruce and Danny are the battinson bat because i think that is also hilarious and 'wet rat' is STILL the perfect energy for Danny as Phantom - especially in the early days when he's running around in all but jeans and a hoodie. (and god watch me go on a rant in a separate post about his outfit and reasonings for being Phantom when he has no powers later on because it makes me go FERAL. and his active choice to look as inhuman and ghost-like through his behavior as phantom and the decision to wear such a creepy mask as possible)

(like seriously, imagine walking home late at night while danny was still in his early vigilante days (and even now when he's got damian and a better suit) and seeing a skinny figure in the shadows with sunken in black-and-glowing-green eyes, and a bone white, skull-like face, crouched on all fours like a wild animal about to pounce. THAT is the level of creepiness I was going for for clone danny)

In my head, Sam offers to house Nasra and Nasra stays with her. SAm is able to convince her parents to let her stay, or she pulls a Danny and just straight up smuggles her in and her parents are none the wiser. I also think it's funny if they have unspoken BEEF with each other. Only to later become like sisters. Nasra teaches Sam the martial arts she knows, and also Danny joins in too with Damian because goddamn he needs it even IF he's learning stuff from his mom (as per the most recent snippet post I made).

OH AND DAMIAN AND NASRA. I think it's equally as funny if they ALSO have beef with each other. Nasra is a clone of his mother (of whom he might have complicated views on due to being a clone but still is his mother) and Damian is a clone of Nasra's "son". This beef largely starts from Damian's own refusal to want to share his Danny with another clone, especially with a clone of his MOTHER.

Danny and Nasra don't become lovers for a good, long while I think. They're besties first before they even consider the idea of dating -- not only just because of the whole "uhhh our counterparts dated so it'd feel kinda weird and forced if we dated" and also because Nasra, with her newfound freedom, is busy trying to figure out herself.

A big theme here in clone^2: discovering your identity and who you are as a person when the only thing you own that's unique is your name (which isn't even the case for Damian), and figuring out if your choices are your own or because you're a clone and its something your original would have done. Nature vs Nurture and the illusion of choice and whether it really is one or not.

Also Nasra also becomes a vigilante. Danny appreciates the help but is also tearing out his hair because what the fuck is up with these assassins and becoming vigilantes?! Nasra goes by "Nesha". She's similar to Red Huntress at first where she kinda does her own thing, but is lowkey forced to team up with Danny about it because she doesn't have any proper ghost hunting equipment with her.

And then a duo becomes a trio, and Danny is spending more time with her. And they steadily become friends. Very snarky friends who are very bratty to each other, but friends. Damian still doesn't like her so Danny spends extra time during patrol keeping the two of them from making insults at each other.

"Nesha please stop fighting with a nine year old. Wraith, quit insulting Nesha."

Nasra also uses like, weaponry as Nesha which exasperates Danny a little because why are you using swords??? They're already dead its not gonna kill them,,,, If you cut off their heads its just gonna piss em off, its re-attachable. Let him ghost-proof it first too. But well, its still gonna HURT he supposes. He's still a little exasperated.

And MMM i'm sorry lmao im so focused on Nasra becoming her own person than the actual romance aspect of it all. Nasra cuts her hair short for the same/similar reasons that Danny keeps his long - to try and gain a semblance of autonomy and identity that's away from their original. Danny has his alternative rock-kinda geeky look and Nasra's got, from influence from Sam, a more alternative fashion style. Although she still leans into being feminine, which is a good challenge to Sam's belief that feminity = bad, and gets her to unlearn those bad habits since her new adoptive sister is feminine while still being an unapologetic badass.

And ykw I think Nasra gets into rollerblading and loves it. She rollerblades constantly. Damian is furious because skating is his thing (even if what he gets later on is a skateboard - skater boy damian ftw. i can see him wearing flannels and graphic tees as a teenager. very grungy/skater aesthetic. He also has a much more relaxed and teen-y speech pattern compared to DW's more formal way of talking. He also spray paints as his form of artistic medium.) and he refuses to have Nasra be a copy of him.

They will sort out their differences eventually. LMao.

Anyways they eventually do get together, but not before Danny finally has his run in with Mister Wayne. Which, they only meet because Danny starts destabilizing, and thus needs Bruce Wayne's DNA to help stabilize himself. Which that meeting in and of itself is pretty chaotic on its own, but then add clone Damian and Nasra? Bruce needs coffee.. or alcohol.

Because picture this: its late at night, you're on patrol with the rest of your family. It's like, two in the morning. You suddenly get a call in from your butler, Alfred, informing you that not one, not two, but THREE children -- two of them in their late teens and the other one not even ten yet -- showed up on your doorstep. One of them is unconscious. They are all clones.

The girl and the boy are twins - and are clones of YOU - and the girl isn't even technically YOUR clone she's a clone of your clone - and also this clone of you is your college friends' kid. And then the youngest boy is a clone of your youngest SON. Bruce is running across rooftops when he gets this call and does a literal 180 degree turn and touches the ground because he basically did a figure skating turn, and sprints back towards the manor because what the fuck? He needs to check this out.

And then half a day later a clone of your fucking ex shows up on your doorstep demanding to see the clone of you - the boy that is, not the girl - and then immediately gets into a verbal lashing with the clone of your son. Like what a fucking DAY. Your kids are equally as baffled but also laughing their asses off -- except your bio son, who is very unhappy about this turn of events and keeps getting the stink eye from his clone.

Like??? I'd quit right then and there.

While Danny recovers he's staying in Wayne manor and Damian is very reportedly not leaving his side. Ellie has to leave to help take care of Amity Park with RH, and then Nasra is also very determinedly not leaving his side either. This is her friend dammit. The first thing she does when he becomes lucid is insult him, and he insults her back - they're bantering. It's how they flirt later on. None of the Bats know how to deal with this situation.

Are Louis and Lestat in an exclusive romantic relationship on the books? Show!stat likes 'variety' and the way I took it is as an open relationship, like they go out and have their fun, but the romantic attachment is exclusive and just the two of them, instead of a polyamorous relationship that has love among multiple people... Anyway, I'm asking because I'm trying to understand show!stat better lol. I don't think the show has been clear about it, but maybe they want us to be confused? That's their goal? Because I believe Lestat only goes to Antoinette after he gets the impression Louis is slipping away. And that he takes Louis' shame in vampirism as shame in being with him too? So I get him trying to find a distraction or whatever. But I struggle with understanding this, not because he's 'with' two partners, because I believe all relationship configurations are valid and well, if they live forever, maybe they need a more diverse sex life than us and sex doesn't equal love lol. But even in his 'non-exclusivity', Lestat is still... Exclusive? Like, he just seems to go to Antoinette. But he also doesn't seem to really care about her either, like, I know we only got Louis' POV and not his, but he let her lose a finger and kicked her out of her own home to have sex with Louis? If he was sleeping around it would've made more sense to me, like, yes, he needs diverse partners, scenarios, kinks etc to entertain his sex life. But this feels like having a side piece only because Louis is distant, but being ready to drop her as soon he feels like there isn't an obstacle anymore. Like, if Louis embraces vampirism, finds some peace with his existential crisis an grief and gets to a good, comfortable place in his life, maybe they can be fully together now. And if/when that happens, I'm not sure if Lestat would need more? Anyway, this makes me so confused, because he has this aura of an extroverted, social, sexy, life of the party etc kind of guy that you'd stereotype and associate with being eternally single, sleeping around etc. But he also took so long to try again after what happened between him and Nicky, then he was fell in love with Louis and stayed in NOLA because of him, they familial and domestic life with Claudia for years and were genuinely happy before everything... There are parts of him that feel pretty traditional and simple too. So I'm like that Oprah "what's the truth?' meme lol. Anyway, thank you and sorry this got so long.

He loves Louis.

Their relationship is not the easiest. We have only seen an edited, distorted picture of it for now, we also know now that Louis (at least thinks) he made it awful for Lestat because he wanted to make Lestat suffer (as he was suffering).

Vampires have (what I call) feeding flings. What Louis does in SF. Fuck and kill. What Lestat obviously does, too, bc Louis expects Antoinette to burn when he comes back.

The problem is that she doesn’t. Because she’s more than a fling. She is a symptom of their problems. In the book Antoine later tells us (yes, in the book Antoine survives) that Lestat came to him to talk about what moved him, which he felt he couldn’t at home, because he felt he would be ridiculed. Lestat in the show alludes to that when he rants about Claudia in Antoinette‘s bed (in the hotel). Antoinette was a retreat.

As such she is both less and more than an affair, something that is made clear by her getting turned later. We are led to believe he only turned her out of convenience, but Lestat always only turns people from or for love.

The edited tale tries to play up the cheating and jealousy aspect, but that is not (all) there is to it. Louis‘ and Lestat‘s main problem came imho, when Louis stopped feeding properly and stopped biting Lestat - the vicious circle that came with the lack of intimacy and bridging of the maker/fledgling barrier.

So the truth… the truth is it’s not as simple as we are led to believe. In their good times Louis had no problems inviting prey into his brothel to (fuck and) kill. Or the soldiers in s1. Louis did not even comment on them being in their bedroom :).

Magnus protocol rant pt 4??:

So I’m thinking about Colin again, and this man is just so interesting. There’s a few different things he may have been marked by. The eye, it’s pretty likely, and makes sense because of the paranoia and fear of someone watching him, and there’s also the fact that if the OIRA is very similar to the Institute then there’s eye stuff going on everywhere there. But there’s a few things that don’t quite fit. Besides Alice, who we know only had her paranoia start after visiting the Institute, he’s the only one with that sort of paranoia. So I don’t think the OIAR is watching them, at least not too much, (talked about that too a bit in a past post) and I think it’s my little men in the computer who’s listening in. But again, no one else has the paranoia that Colin does.

Another thing, I can’t help but feel the way Jon tried to figure out what was going on, is fundamentally different from how Colin is going about it. Jon was more worried about WHO was listening, who was the secret murderer, at least in s2, and tried to figure it out from a distance, passively gathering information while watching his coworkers from afar. Colin is so much more hands on, and isn’t suspicious of anyone except maybe Lena, he’s not collecting information on his coworkers or the OIAR, at least not that we can tell, and is much more focused of the computers when it comes to his information gathering. If I’m right about him knowing there’s somebody stuck in the computer and they’re the ones watching him, this could explain that, but still.

Now to the bit about the spiral. I can’t stop comparing the way he’s so thorough with his work on the computers to the common obsession with fractals for spiral victims in TMA. The way he’s convinced there’s an answer in there somewhere, following every little lead to its end, reading every line of code, every wire and cord. He quite literally seems to be losing it to the others, crawling around on the ground, muttering to himself, the tantrum he broke Sam’s phone in, to the point where he was sent on mental health leave. Just the fact that if he did start talking about the little men in the computer he’d seem completely insane. That screams spiral to me.

Edit: not to mention the fact TMA 65 was the spiral. Not every tech based episode is gonna be the spiral ofc, but I think it could be an interesting parallel, having both the extremely techy characters fall into the spiral.

SDV Sam Headcanons: Neurodivergent Edition

He's got a little box of stim/fidget toys that he plays with. He likes to pretend that he doesn't have an attachment to them, but he'd just about cry if anyone tried to take them away from him.

Only Sebastian and Abigail know about his stims. Other people in Pelican Town have been known to make fun of him or give him odd looks, so he tends to try and keep it to a minimum.

Abigail would 100% beat anyone who tried to make him feel bad about it.

Sam is awful at social cues, and often talks about himself because he doesn't know how else to empathise with people.

He's never been the type of person that bounces off the walls with energy, but he often rhythmically bounces his leg or has to fidget with something in order to concerntrate. It's why he loves guitar so much. Gives him something to do with his hands.

He doesn't know how to cook very well or do his own laundry, but he'll go on a two hour rant about every tiny detail of D&D if you asked him to.

He loves the sound of cats purring, but can't stand the feeling of being licked.

You said you wanted to talk about it : what do you think about Sam s1 vs Sam rest of the show? I can't help but think he went all over the place in his writing. S1, he was reserved and competent. He was also heavily traumatized. But the way the show navigates all of that seems to be... Random? I never know. I used to love Sam in s1, but afterward he turned generic edge lord, back to quiet nerd, then to ingrate jerk, then whatever else... Genuinely interested by your thoughts on his character development.

I agree with you. In season one and even season two to an extent was the best version of Sam. He was snarky, he was caring, he was angry, his only personality wasnt "worried" like in the later seasons especially 11 onwards.

I think Sam was obviously such a nuanced character that is extremely difficult to get right, and I know there's a lot of different writers so that's probably the reason, but it is not an excuse.

I think after season one, the only arc that really made sense to his character was when he got meaner and more violent to prepare for Dean's death at the end of season 3.

I don't want to be rude to Jared but in my opinion I think his acting deteriorated with Sam as well, which is probably the result of struggling with bad writing, but it really didn't help his character in the later seasons.

It really annoyed me because he's such a complicated character!! That they butchered!!! We could have had such interesting plots focusing on him, but after he went through his soulless arc (which i hated I'm sorry) barely anything was focused on him which really sucked.

I think the most disappointing thing for me is that if he had been handled better in the later seasons he very well may have been my favourite character.

Hos development was all over the place, I really agree with you. At some points it was even on an episode-to-episode basis. He'd be reserved and intelligent, then shift to angry and impulsive - and I know that that happens in real life but most of the time it was unprompted and random, like you said.

I wish they explored his religious trauma more to be honest. It was sad to rarely see it (tbf the s8 "clean" arc was pretty good, but they were more focused on Dean somehow? I dont know how to explain it) and it would be so good to see his relationship with religion further developed.

I discovered that Communication Knife AweSamDrunz have Children Now today, and I’m loving everything I’m reading so far.

Also that they hang out with Sapnap, Philza, and Techno. Was not expecting that, but yeah, Dream would want to reconnect, wouldn’t he? Even if it make Sam Uncomfortable and Punz Salty.

aaaaaaaaa I'm glad!!! The kids are sort of separate from the main au in that they're not really the main focus, they're just something that occasionally makes me happy to rotate in my mind. Healed, happy characters who are extremely neurodivergent, with their weird neurodivergent children, able to exist contently.

also, yeah!!! I realized a while back that I haven't really talked about the relationships and conflicts or Anything with real consistency on this tumblr. I'm used to interacting with people in the discord who've already had to listen to me so many times yell and rant that I've forgotten that I. might need to give context actually to other people who have showed up to a person on a soapbox spouting nonsense.

short answer: yeah, theres a Lot of complicated feelings, but by the time the children are in the picture its been like a decade and peace has been made with most things. No one has forgotten, of course. Shit was fucked. But events keep happening, characters keep developing, and Dream cradles his happy ending with the people he got to keep so very close to his chest.

So its like! Techno will support Dream through thick and thin and be civil with his partners, Punz and Sapnap had some rough moments but are buddies, and Sam will never talk to Dream's friends about anything deep, but after years of him genuinely trying to be a good partner, Techno and Sapnap are no longer five seconds away from trying to murder him.

Long answer: I'm trying to pull together some posts that will give detailed explanations of this entire thing. Itll take a bit, but its infinitely easier than the full fic I was trying and failing to write. I'm pulling this timeline from an old post so it might not be completely up-to-date even with my edits, but this is some skeleton stuff I can give that will make things easier for Understanding probably. Dream wakes up and unties Punz

SamDrunz has a talk and decides Sam is allowed kisses again

Sapnap finds out about the Torture, sees the sex tape, assumes Dream can't consent to the relationship considering Sam was his warden and Sap thinks Punz betrayed him, and takes Dream to a cottage away from everyone to try to protect him. After Sapnap yells at SamPunz, Dream gently informed Sapnap he's going to continue the relationship, and they have an emotional reconciliation that leads to weeklyish meetings between Dreamnap where they can just sit and talk

FOR ONCE. can other people fucking criticize Jim Krieg for the shit he pulled in Scoobynatural and Frankencreepy (he was a writer for both) if you don’t know, i’m talking about how in Scoobynatural Dean who is a grown man spends the entire episode thirsting over Daphne who is a teenager and there is a kiss between Sam who is ALSO a grown man and Velma who is ALSO a teenager at the end. AND in Frankencreepy, there’s a whole fatphobic side plot that Daphne goes through.

every fucking time people will bring up Jim Krieg, it’s literally ALWAYS about his mandates that he put on 13th ghost + rtzi and it’s NEVER about the shit that he pulled in Scoobynatural and Frankencreepy that’s muuuuuuch worse than his mandates on those movies. yesterday i saw someone on reddit rant about the no real monsters mandates on those movies. some people in the comments on the Scoobysnax blog will bring it up whenever 13th ghost or rtzi are mentioned and even when they’re NOT mentioned, people will STILL bring that up!! i haven’t seen anyone in the comments on that site do that in a month actually BUT OH MY GODDD.

and just today i was watching a video and in the comments i saw one of the few people who actually talked about how he worked on Scoobynatural but they criticized him for that special being about how real monsters don’t belong in Scooby and not a SINGLE mention about how in Scoobynatural, a grown man was going after a teenage girl for the entire episode or that another a grown man and a teenage girl kissed at the end.

like okay you can be mad about his mandates, i’m not saying you can’t or that no one can ever criticize him for his mandates ever again. but why does literally everyone else ignore the grown men being romantically involved with teenage girls that he pulled in Scoobynatural and the fatphobia side plot that he pulled in Frankencreepy???!!! for ONCE, can we criticize him for that cause that’s literally so much worse.

imagine Sam out with his brothers drinking, and he gets WAY too drunk.(to the point where a baby taking its first steps is a better walker than Sam.) Danny brings Sam home. you are sitting on the couch watching some random movie when you hear Sam drunkenly talking way too loud about how he's very upset Danny made him sit in the back seat. you open the front door meeting the two boys, Danny holding Sam up, and Sam still ranting.

"thanks for bringing Samuel home Danny" you sigh, "we'll pick up his car tomorrow" you laugh slightly, grabbing sam's arm to direct him into your sweet abode.

"UNHAND ME WOMAN!" Sam let's out. you take your arm back, very confused.

"I-i have a wife. and I'm not afraid to use her." Sam points his pointer finger at you, showing how strict his point is.

Danny let's out a roar of laughter at sam's drunken state. "don't fucking laugh dude- y/n will kick her ass-" he points his finger at you once again, "-and your ass for taking me home where a strange woman is man handling me!" he points at Danny now, before he throws his arms down in anger, almost like a child having a tantrum.

"wait, why is there a strange woman in my home- introduce yourself, hooligan!" Sam dramatically straightens himself (the best he could in his drunken state) and points at you... again.

"well, Samuel, I am your wife and I am about to drag you into this damn house because it's freezing and you are letting the cold air in " you shiver as a cold breeze rushes by.

"a hooligan? is? my wife!?" Sam gasps.

you sigh and grab his arm, "unhand me!" Sam screams as he keeps swating at your hand as he keeps exclaiming how he's married, blah blah blah.

"thanks Danny, you drive home safe!" you say smiling as you pull Sam inside.

Danny laughs and nods, "oh for sure, hooligan. goodnight!"

you close the door and shake your head before looking back at Sam, realizing he had some douchebag sunglasses on this entire time. you sigh at how stupid he looks and take them off, setting them down on the table by the door. Sam gasps loudly and grabs your face.

"my beautiful wife! oh how I missed you!" he hugs you, swaying back and forth, probably because he has horrible balance from the alcohol. "you won't even believe my night- some hooligan manhandled me and tried saying she was my wife! but I took care of it. like a big boy."

you pat him on his back and laugh to yourself, "then be a big boy and go to bed, you need to sober up."

Okay, just watched Haunted Mansion, so I'm gonna rant for a bit

They should've hired a demonologist.

HEY!! I HEAR YOU!! STOP YELLING THAT THIS IS A HOLLYWOOD MOVIE!!! I'M GOING FOR SOME REALISM!!

Okay, for anyone who doesn't know, a demonologist is... well.. that. They study demons and demonic entities and a good demonologist or two would've been able to get that Hatbox ghost out of there with some help. Even just a squad of paranormal investigators and mediums.

I've been watching Sam and Colby for awhile and also researching on paranormal investigators since I was a child (Not to mention ghosts and paranormal stuff being a big interest of mine). And first thing the squad needed in that movie WAS EQUIPMENT. I'm talking REM pods, music boxes, spirit boxes, light up cat balls, flashlights you can get at Home Debot, thermal imaging cameras. Hell, just bring ONE EMF reader and I'll let it slide.

I know what you're gonna say. "Oh, Blicket, that stuff isn't real." I KNOW. But there are people out there who have spent years working on this stuff and, like I pointed out earlier, this is a fictional world. Ghosts actually exist here. These tools would be extremely useful in a world like that. Yes, that camera Ben had was useful and cool and whatever, but it would've been so amazing to see paranormal investigation equipment in the movie. Besides, the camera broke like... halfway in. EMF readers don't break like that. The Estes Method doesn't break like that. Light up cat balls don't break like that.

Use the Estes Method to talk with the ghosts or something. Before they could see the ghosts fully, this would've helped a lot. They would've been able to pick up things that the ghosts were saying with a lot more ease.

I ADORE the use of Mediums though. Mediums, psychics, empaths, the whole gang. I know there's this big trend in hollywood where the psychic will be 'fake' or something, but mediums in the real world didn't ask for this!! I just like that they made Harriett such an awesome character.

Also, I wanna bring up something else. GET TRAVIS (and just everyone in general) AN EDUCATION ON HOW THAT HATBOX GHOST WORKS!!! Before going to a haunted place (especially one with a demonic entity) you NEED to know what might happen. You need to know the history, what the spirit does and does not like, personal details, how to protect yourself, etc.

Learn how to do an exorcism! Know how to cleanse areas!! Sage up yourself!! Don't do rash things that could get you killed by these old ass ghosts!!

Like... I could go on and on. This movie was amazing, no denying that, I just wish they used the opportunity to show how interesting the world and careers of paranormal investigators really is!

I do like the theory of suggestion thing, though. THAT was a nice little easter egg. I nearly squealed when I heard that.

ok i’m gonna talk about the RWRB Movie...

SPOILER: i’m gonna be negative and i’m not planning on watching the movie (i guess that means ppl are gonna block me??? idk why ppl are just mass blocking because of this but whatever) (edit: per a suggestion I swapped the tag on this post so it isn't tagged under "rwrb movie")

so i’m gonna start by saying that i’ve watched the trailer a few times and honestly i love the vibes, it makes me smile ever time.

-the butt slap is everything

-Henry’s facial expressions *chefs kiss*

-the visible chain around Alex neck. yes

i’m also gonna say that its great that people ARE going to see the movie, we need more queer movies and the only way for that to happen is if ppl watch the ones that are being made now.

so the bad.

honestly i could deal with a lot of the little things.  like they make my eye twitch a little but i do actually understand that you can’t 100% remake a book into a movie.

 BUT

it’s June that i can’t forgive.

if i’m wrong and she is in the movie than amazing and i redact everything but it doesn’t seem to be that way.

removing June makes me SO angry.  its like removing Alice from Twilight or Sam from Lord of the Rings.  if Main Characters are just the romantic leads (Alex and Henry) than June defiantly falls into secondary tier - all the Super Six kinda do (Bea would be the most removable for me but is is also necessary for Henry’s development as much as June is for Alex.

June balances Alex out.  the book even specifically states WHY all of the White House Trio are needed (page 28: “Alex pushes them. June steadies them. Nora keeps them honest.”) She keeps him sane and she put her life on hold to watch out for Alex, and Alex knows this!

the idea of Alex being an only child is terrifying.  he is already kinda selfish (i say that lovingly) and “a little shit” without growing up with an older sibling to shut him up he would be a monster (and Nora doesn’t count because first they don’t actually meet until Ellen is running with Mike as VP and second Nora’s personality is to “go with the flow” to really steady Alex)

June also has some important moments that happen in the book! like it doesn’t really work to have Nora be fake dating Henry for the like 2 days that that happens and no June means no Magazine moment (i know that isn’t really directly in the book but its a fav for everyone).  no June also really changes the tone of the Lake House....

ANWAY, moving away from June here is some other things that i don’t like (because its my rant and i want to, feel free to change my mind)

- the height difference (i did love the lifts comment in the trailer but idk if they’ll be able to keep that up in a way that makes since - that means that if they are every barefoot Alex would have to be shorter *cough* like swimming)

-the actor for Alex is to old.  i know ppl are really split about this but the actor feels put together and like an adult to me (vs. book Alex feels very young - or he honestly acts his age of 21/22).  i think the polo match scene says a lot for me in the postures of the 2 actors, Henry is ok (tho honestly i think he wouldn’t have the loose posture once he rejoined ppl but its cute so pass) but Alex is to stiff, he should be almost bouncing as he walks.

-WFT is Ellen’s accent in the trailer???

-i heard a rumor that Raf and Liam are merged and redone.  Gross and big no.

-King instead of Queen.  i understand why this was done but the tone changes a lot in my head of abusive Grandpa vs. Grandma

-Zahra.  don’t like, the vibe is off with the actress... can’t explain why except the smile in the photos and the bow in the trailer

 -i feel like some of the scenes feel still (this is 100% my opinion and i could be reading this VERY wrong so ignore this if you interpret it differently)

i really wanted to like the movie but realistically i probably wouldn’t watch the movie anyway because i have issues with that so..... i guess it doesn’t matter.

but peter by far the most bc ADHJKAHSF. THE BRIDGE. IM UNWELL. 'forgive me, peter, please know that i tried to hold on to the days when you were mine, but the woman who sits by the window has turned out the light.' STOP THIS RIGHT NOW. WHAT. literally sobbing wtf. bc i cant go a moment without referencing percy jackson, this one rly reminded me of piper and jason's break up from piper's pov (just replace 'peter' with 'jason'!!!).

um. ok anyways :) now imma talk abt the bolter!!! so!!! (im unironically listening to it rn - ttpd is on shuffle and it just came on lmaoo). i dont have much to say abt this one; just that its good and idk i liked it lmao. but omg the 'but as she was leaving, it felt like breathing.' idk it just hit different and i loved it sm. THE BRIDGE TOO OMG<3 its so catchy i love it.

'down bad' is so incoherent screaming. i love love love that song aaaahhh!!!!!! the first verse was so good; 'did you really beam me up, in a cloud of sparkling dust, just to do experiments on?' and also 'for a moment, i knew cosmic love.' im unwell.

'the albatross' ok i'd also like to say, out of all the bonus track edition thingys, i liked the cover for the albatross edition the best!!!! it was just so ttpd to me idk. 'and when the sky rains fire on you, and you're persona non grata, i'll tell you how i've been there too.' ugh i loved the bridge for this one^ (side note - "persona non grata" means unwelcome person).

oh and also!!! 'chloe or sam or sophia or marcus' RIPPED MY HEART OUT. dont mind me just violently sobbing to 'so, if you wanna break my cold heart, say that you loved me just the way you were' like actually stop this i cannot. and omg 'could it be enough just to float in your orbit?' NO. sTOp. i cant anymore that entire verse was just gut wrenching.
