A poem struck me earlier and I had to write it down. I think I'm a little heavy-handed in a few lines so I may go back and rework some of it. But, for now, it is finished though it remains nameless
It isn't a lightning bolt,
Stunning into immobility.
Nor is it a whirlwind,
Dazing those in its wake.
Not for us the wild intensity,
Past the blush of youth.
Not for us the mindless rush,
Past even a second youth.
Instead, for you and I,
As we stately sail into
A graceful middle age,
We slip into calm waters.
It is a meeting of familiar eyes,
A warm and safe harbor.
Of thinking “Oh, there you are”
And welcoming each other home.

we're sitting in a Waffle House in the middle of nowhere. it's three a.m and i watch pour way too much syrup on your hasbrowns. you catch me staring and look up at me from your monstrosity in front of you and i can't help but smile. you smile back and ask 'what' doing that adorable little head tilt thing you do at me. and i shake me head and simply reply 'nothing' to which you smile a little harder.

You look older now, happier. you catch me staring and look up at me fron the monstrosity infront of you. You smile at me and ask 'what' while doing that adorable little head tilt thing you do at me. i simply reply 'nothing' to which you smile a little harder and say 'It's never nothing.' I simply nod. i know. i just don't want you to stop putting too much syrup on your hasbrowns.

nothing, just tolkien originally writing down the hobbit because his son christopher kept complaining that he'd change the details from night to night and then christopher later being so crucial in taking tolkien's notes and turning them into fully written novels of worldbuilding. loving someone to the point of creation and then having them help you finish the job.

Let me bite you a little, just tender
enough to leave a small bruise, easily
hidden, that goes away in time.

Day 26
Falling
Every downward
Further
Past roots
Down
Into depths
Unknown
Falling
Faster now
Tumbling
Into mystery
Breathless
With fear
Shaking
Falling
Without end
Lost
Without sight
Forgotten
Without touch
Disappearing
