(no, of course you can't relate to that because you're a much nicer person than me)

The top fabric is handwoven and handspun, the whole thing is sewn by hand, too.

Leftovers. Barely anything, all things considered, which is very satisfying.

This thing took me well over 3 years to make, on and off. And now I'm done.

I am so happy to have this done and I love how it turned out. With the exception of the dress pattern (Brassia dress from Mood Fabrics), the boots, and the patch I made into a hair clip, everything was made from scratch.

I’ve been watching a lot of sewing and fashion history videos lately and I’ve realized there is 2 types of people who sew

1. The person who makes sure everything is historically correct, including the fabric, thread, pattern, and even sewing machine

(Bernadette Banner, Nicole Rudolph, etc)

And

2. The person who could not give two shit about where they got their fabric and will make elaborate dresses in a single day without ever touching a pattern

Mo-mo-mori!!!

After lots of lolita fashion shenanigans I really wanted to concentrate on mori kei for a while! Putting this look together was so much fun!

Perfect for attending July's lolita fashion meetup with my friends (we have no strict dress code and other fashions & normie clothes are fine.)

Outfit rundown (from top to bottom):

hair flower: handmade (and lost on the walk home that day..)

shell earrings: handmade from shells

shell necklace: handmade

lacey crop top: handmade

big shell sash: thrifted

gilet with pointy bits / tails: handmade (you can only see the bottom part in my outfit, because I'm wearing the crop top layered over it)

bracelet: from an animal charity, handmade by them

crocheted skirt: handmade / upcycled from a table cloth my great aunt crocheted during WW II

underskirt: handmade

Lads, I have a school project and am absolutely STUMPED. How should I upcycle this dress? I can dye, embroider, add fabric, basically do anything, and all my ideas seem to fall flat. There is a double layer on the skirt, and I was thinking of dying it and making it longer, but i need to do a lot more… drop your ideas please!! Also if you know me or my school, no you don’t XX
