Dani gives people heart attacks and brings down a lot of trafficking rings, making friends along the way. Everything by accident, really
Dani traveled around world, hadn't she? While doing it, she had to meet a lot of interesting people.
Like heroes or villains.
In civies or not or both who knows.
But to actually learn things about someplace you have to spend more than one night there. Like, idk? Month? Probably more but I doubt she would be able to sit in one place for any longer. In many places she is shorter.
Month is long enough to create some connections though.
Enough to get someone to realize when you disappear...
Yeah, Dani on her way of gremlin and self discovery ghosted bunch of people without second thought. They'll probably forget her in few months anyway. And she was everywhere in USA. She didn't left American soil only because she didn't want to be too far from Danny in case of emergency. Before anyone tells me he was in space so he could fly to her wherever on Earth she would be, Earth's atmosphere ends about 100 km above sea level and officially this is border of space. Telecommunication satellites are between 8000 to 12000 km up. It's about how wide Atlantic Ocean is.
Plus y'know, time. If she needs help, she probably can't quite wait until he flies all the way to Hong Kong, Wladywostok, Rio de Janeiro or wherever she is.
So America it is. For now at least. When they're 100% sure she is stable she'll fly elsewhere.
Anyway people who she ghosted are used to batshit crazy stuff but "this tween is alone on her road to self discovery and just left for new city" isn't first thing anyone thought about. Maybe outside of Martians. They know. Everyone else? No idea what happened to this tiny, chaotic, snarky, probably meta child.
First thought though?
She got kidnapped.
So now 3/4 of Justice League, some individual heroes and bunch of less intense rogues are scrambling around their cities tracking every trafficking ring they found glimpses of, trying to find Dani.
Flashes work with Captain Cold on this and seem to slowly descend into madness. At the same time, Dani eats ice cream with nice museum lady from Washington who introduced herself as Diana. Then she helps at animal shelter with kind stuck up boy called Damian. Oh, Danny likes aliens, let's visit Martian Manhunter. Maybe she'll manage to get autograph for her template. Wait Space Cops? Kinda sucks but Danny would probably like their signatures too. Let's go. Oh, Superboys are fun mess with and older one is like her! This Nightwing guy puns like Danny but she always feels like he looks at her weirdly. Billy should eat more, magic or not, fighting is tiring. Good thing she has Sam's money to buy him burgers.
She has time of her life while people she met are slowly dying.
She probably doesn't even hide that she is traveling but for whatever reason they don't think she actually left.
They don't bring it up on any meeting because no matter how concerned they are, it's not really whole league type of business. And Martians just discreetly enjoy chaos.
There is a lot of ways it can get resolved (or not) but I kinda thought about Jon introducing his old buddy Damian to his new buddy Dani because he thinks they would get along and they just stare at each other for long moment before:
"Dani..."
"Dami!"
"WHY DID YOU LEFT WITHOUT A WORD! WE THOUGHT YOU WERE KIDNAPPED OR DEAD!"
Some screaming and revelation that Killer Croc was looking for her too, Dani hits moment of realisation.
"Wait, is this what people think when you just up and go?"
"Honestly? Yeah"
"Oh, Ancients I did this to so many people. So many..."
Idk, just Dani traveling and leaving people behind.
Do with it what you will

Bizzare statement, but Lolth and Corellon as depicted in Evermeet: Island of the Elves are divorce goals for many of the toxic relationships involving my characters.
It's a regular trashfire; my OG dysfunctional, abusive divine family from before the Bhaalspawn obsession kicked in. Throw the whole thing out! Partly why I enjoy using a BG2 tie-in to make my Durge a child of Bhaal and kind of the Seldarine for double the dysfunction, maybe.
Corellon is implied to be a tad obsessed with his gf (not even sure what's happening with Angharradh. 'I declare myself Queen and consort,' meanwhile Corellon's not even looking at her because he's busy looking at Lolth.)
Lolth finds him smothering. Vhaeraun and Eilistraee are neglected. Eilistraee is slightly better treated, but she's also noted to resemble her mother which uhhhh. Eilistraee is 'my child,' Vhaeraun is 'your mother's son.' And even Eilistraee's idea of optimism is; 'if I do something to please father (by recovering one of my mother's lost creations she made for him) maybe he'll divert his attention from obsessing over mother for five seconds and show me an iota of affection!'
Meanwhile Vhaeraun long ago gave up trying and hates them both, and his sister because at least Corellon likes her and Lolth doesn't seem to be physically and verbally abusing her.
"I am Angharradh," the new goddess said in a voice that was wind, moonlight, and music. "From the essence of the three greatest elven goddesses am I born. I am three and I am one—three to ensure that treachery never again enters the heart of a goddess of Arvandor, and one to stand at Corellon's side."
Angharradh stooped and touched her hand lightly to Corellon's forehead, and again to his heart. The wounds closed, and the dark aura that clung to him seemed to part. The elf lord opened his eyes at last. They settled, not on the wondrous Angharradh, but upon Araushnee. His gaze held terrible heartbreak and equally strong resolve.
"A great evil has entered our midst," he said in a dry whisper. "We must confront it now, for the sake of the Seldarine and all our elven children. The Council is convened. Let any who would, speak freely."
-
Corellon looked into Araushnee's malevolent crimson eyes, marvelling that he had never truly seen her before. She stood taut and defiant, her fists balled at her sides and her entire slender form quivering from the effort it took her to keep from striking out at him. Where did it come from—this rage, this terrible ambition?
"What is this that you have done?" he said softly. "What could you possibly hope to gain by such actions? If there is anything that you lacked, you had only to speak and I would have given it to you with joy."
"Exactly," snarled Araushnee. "You would have given. True power is not given, but seized! As to your 'great gifts,' I held in my hands the destinies of mortal beings—but was my own ever mine to command? You treated me like some cherished and cosseted possession, while standing in the way of everything I desired!"
"Not so," Corellon told her gently. "Never did I show you such disrespect. I loved you."
"And you will yet live to regret it," she hissed.
And then he - instead of killing her as everybody, including Lolth, knows would be the better option for the safety of everyone - banishes her. Fuck the wellbeing of your children - mortal and divine - as well as other mortals of Toril!

okay in my third playthrough of stray gods now and i only just got to the dialogue options with persephone where she explains her relationship with hades, how he doted on her to control her and how she convinced herself her kidnapping was a good thing, and how apollo didnt help her when she was trying to get to her mother and like. fuckin holy shit dude.
this game in general is just a punch to the gut. the lore is as dark and gross as the original myths were, while many other adaptions file down the claws of the original myths. but stray gods doesn't even follow the original myths much, focusing much more on the life of the idols in the last two or so centuries. it's so creative how they adapt these characters to be so unlike our expectations of what they would be like but maintain the dark themes present in their myths. the greek gods in this game are so different to all other interpretations, yet they feel so genuine.
i LOVE playing a game that doesn't soften any blows, it's incredible.

it has occurred to me a few times that, given what happens in the rebirth ending (don't remember the actual name of it rn so im calling it rebirth since the hunter is reborn as a great one), people who ascend fully do appear to start out in kind of an infant/larval stage. therefore pocket rom is not only completely viable but possibly canon and that is delightful to me
