As much as I enjoy it when the fandom portrays Dexter and the other Spooky Month villains as getting along quite well, I raise you my personal interpretation:

He actually strongly dislikes them, because consider this: he's been plagued all his life by violent needs he just wishes he could get rid of, and always fears he'll end up not controlling himself and hurt someone on accident, and these FUCKERS go around and kill people??? For FUN??? He'd be like that meme "Wow all these people are insane, thank God i'm normal"

I personally think he'd actually would've gotten along quite well with Lila and the kids. Lila thinks he's a bit off-putting, but she didn't seem particularly wary of him in Unwanted Guest, so I think she'd know he's got a good heart despite everything. I can see him teaching the kids about his job like "And then the rat will get stuck in the trap, and won't be able to escape!" "That's so spooky!" "I know, right?!"

The kids would be SO exicited to spend time with him, just saying.

Also, I thought about an Average Spooky Month scenario where Lila and the kids are in danger, and Dexter just comes out of nowhere and starts horribly maiming the villain, only to then turn to Lila and be like "Hello Miss Lila! Seemed like you needed help, so I decided to exterminate the issue for you!" with the biggest smile ever. He would've 10/10 picked a fight with Bob.

If Dexter had to note one thing about the kids he was stuck with, it’d be that they seemed to be obsessed with tickles.

Nearly every day that he was stuck in the house with them, they’d tickle him half to death, every time making him scared he’d blow his cover. Somehow, the kids never seemed to realize that a doll that not only laughed when being tickled, but also protested, curled up or even tried to push them away, wasn’t a normal doll. But luckily, the kids seemed to be far too dense to realize that.

But, weirdly enough, being subjected to near-daily tickles seemed to make his needs less… intense. Like it was distracting his mind, or like his need for blood was being partially satiated by the playful activity. Which, in a way, made it nice.

And also way easier to say that was why he enjoyed it, and totally not because he enjoyed getting any form of affection.

Tonight, however, he hadn’t been subjected to tickles once. Normally he wouldn’t be worried, except for the fact that he’d overheard Skid and Lila mentioning that Pump would be staying over for the night. Which meant Skid must’ve just been waiting to team up with his best friend to tickle him.

“Pump!” He heard the hyper ravenette call to his friend as he sat on Skid’s bed, pretending to be just an ordinary doll like normal.

“Skid! Hiii!”

“Let’s go play with our happy fella!”

Oh no.

“Have fun, you two,” he heard Lila call to the two bois as they excitedly ran up the stairs, “Dinner will be ready soon, so don’t start a game that’ll last too long, ok?”

“Ok, Mom!” the little ravenette called as he and his friend reached his room.

“What game should we play with the happy fella?” the brunette asked as the two hopped onto the bed.

“Hmmm, I don’t know. We could color, or read him a story, or have a little party!”

“A party for what?”

“Uhm… I dunno, it was an idea.”

“Hmmm… Oh, I know what we can do!”

The fluffball leaned over to whisper in his friend’s ear, but it didn’t take hearing him for Dexter to know what he was suggesting, especially if the way Skid’s eyes lit up was any indication.

“Oooo, good idea!” the ravenette said happily as he grabbed the ‘doll’s’ arm, pulling him close.

“Yeah! Let’s tickle our favorite fella!” Pump practically chirped, confirming his fears.

Of course, Dexter had to drop the doll facade, not that it fazed the two boys, they seemed to accept this as normal.

“Hey hey, no kids, c’mon, you don’t wanna tickle me! Don’t you wanna play some other game?” he tried to reason with the two.

“Uh, but why would we do that?” Pump asked.

“Yeah, other games don’t make you laugh, and we like your laugh, right Pump?” Skid argued.

“Yeah, yeah we do!”

That threw Dexter for a loop.

They like my laugh? Like, my laugh, and not just tickling me? He’d never heard that before, and now he’d just been told so by a couple of random kids. Hell, he didn’t even like his own laugh.

“I… uhm… really?” he didn’t know what else to say. What do you say when two kids tell you they like to tickle you for your laugh? Thanks? He found it way too hard to believe.

“Yeah, of course! Your laugh makes you our happy fella!” Skid hugged Dex close to his chest.

“Plus it’s full of snorts!” Pump added, “It’s really cool!”

“Waitttt, are you trying to distract us?” the little ravenette suddenly accused the doll.

“Wait, no I- I just asked a question, you distracted yourselves!” he reminded them, but they seemed to be having none of it.

“I think he was trying to distract us!” Pump piped up.

“That’s it, no more Mister Nice Skid!”

Dexter let out the most embarrassing, high-pitched squeal followed by a snort when he attempted to protest, the result of Skid squeezing his sides, which a single hand could completely encompass thanks to the former’s now tiny size and lack of bones or internal anatomy. What made it ten times worse, however, was that instead of ever hurting when squeezed too hard, it just tickled more.

This was quickly worsened when Pump decided to attack his belly as well, Dex’s tiny legs attempting to curl up and stop him, but thanks to the doll’s design, it was just as fruitless as ever.

“NAHAHOHOHO! YOUHU snort LIHIHITTLE SHIHIHITS!”

“Hey! Don’t call us mean names!” Skid scolded him.

“And don’t say curse words, you’ll get us in trouble!” Pump added.

“OHOHO FUHU- NOHO NOHO- snort -HOT THEHEHEHERE!!” he tried to defy them, his efforts quickly cut short by Skid digging into his underarms. He couldn’t even tell which spot was worse anymore, they all tickled like hell.

“Hey, Skid, do you think that dolls can feel raspberries?” the brunette suddenly asked his friend, catching the attention of said ‘doll’ between them.

“Hmmm, I dunno. Test it!”

“NOHOHO! WEHE snort CAHAHAN! DOHON’T TEHE- snort -HEST IHIHIHIT!!” Dexter tried to interject, but they didn’t seem to listen, Pump going ahead with his ‘test’.

That test, of course, being blowing the biggest raspberry he could manage on the tiniest’s belly, eliciting some near-silent laughter from him.

However, just after, the tickles stopped completely, and before he knew it he was cozily between two other plushies, giggling his stuffing-filled heart out. He was lucky he didn’t have lungs or tear ducts anymore, meaning no tears to have to wipe away or air to try to replace with deep breaths. He just snuggled up to his inanimate roommates and focused on trying to stop the embarrassing giggles and snorts flowing from his mouth.

“Full of snorts, just like I said!” Pump commented on his laughter with a little grin.

“Yeah! Good job, taking all those tickles, Happy fella!” Skid cheered.

“Shuhuhush… snort” Dexter complained, shoving his face into the side of a red bunny plush as though he was trying to hide his smile.

Skid opened his mouth to make another comment before they all heard Lila call for dinner.

“Yayy, dinner!” the kids chorused as they hopped off the little ravenette’s bed, giggling enthusiastically. Dex peeked over and watched them run out, his giggles finally calming down. He practically melted into the plushies and felt himself falling asleep, something he was only made aware he could do after a tickling like this.

Yep, just another day.

Meet Alice!

This is Alice! (Short for Adelaide). This Is her Carnival design! (Carnival au belongs to @sm-baby !). She's a purple spool of thread, and she's a ditzy type character!

I based her outfit offa' 50's things in general (TO kinda keep with the barber shop quartet thingy with players). I imagine she was close friends with Caine and Abel before they got trapped in the the carnival . She would always get them up to trouble, being a bit of a rascal! Always pushing them out of their comfort zone and all. I live to imagine she'll casually "Flirt" with them (nothing like, explicit or vulgar. Kinda like "oh you got all dolled up for ME! What a show!") But she wouldn't make any actual romantic advances. She just knows they're a buncha bible slinging goody-two-shoes and likes to tease and fluster them a lot.

Since I realized Caine and Abel were kinda like mugman and cuphead I decided to make her A LOT like Miss chalice. She's got a bit of a "Ditzy" voice goin on, she's a lot more witty and brazen, and she's always getting the two brothers in trouble. But she cares about them quite a lot!

She primarily wears puprle, and she carries around a large sewing needle which she uses as a weapon. (Courtesy of Caine, for self defense of course!). She's not a coder by any means, so she has no "power" like the boys. But they coded in some extra stuff for her (Like a respawn screen, a few extra buff here and there.) But she's crafty and quick on her feet, always being able to weasel her way out of a tough spot! I'd like to say she's on Miss Pauling's (from TF2) level of dexterity, so she can hold her own pretty decently.

Just some extra stuff about her: Relationships: Caine: Oh VERY close! She likes how goofy he is, always bringing a smile to her face! Though she also loves teasing him. Abel: Also incredibly close! She's always trying to drag him along with her to who knows where, but he always has to be a "goody-two-shoes" and reject her. Whatever. Pomni: They get along just fine! At first Pomni didn't like her very much, a she she thought she had a thing for Caine. But no! Pomni usually turns to her whenever she needs to know something about Caine. Ragatha: Not much to say. She thinks ragatha is too uptight and needs to learn to live a little. Ragatha thinks she's a wild street dweller. They don't care for each other much Zooble: Fine. Able gets along with her, so she makes an effort to get to know her purely for Ables sake. They don't really chat 1 on 1, only when they're both around able. Gangle: She can respect her enjoyment of plays, but they have some creative differences. Alice prefers stand up comedy and improv, so following a script ain't really her thing... Jax: They don't interact very much. She actually sort of likes his wildness, but only to an extent. She avoids him at all costs though. (She's not willing to be crushed AGAIN). She sets up counter pranks and traps to keep him away, and so far its worked. Kinger: She knows the least about him, having never even been in the same room as him. Though from what Pomni's told her, he's a ruthless tyrant. She dislikes him off the bat, having a general disdain for authority. Some backstory tid bits: She met Caine and Abal as they all grew up in the same church community. Where as Caine and Able became "good stand up Christians" she got more and more wild as the years went on. Adam and Eve always though she was a bit of a "bad influence" on the boys but they hung out nonetheless. She was always getting into trouble and hanging around some of the street kids (with Able and Caine stuck to her hips). She was always a bit scrappy and crafty, having more street smarts than books marts. She's mellowed out a bit but she's still fun as ever!

Hi random SpookyMonth rant incoming but i HATE the way Dexter's character is seen/portrayed and mischaracterized in the SM fandom (I've mainly seen it on TikTok), but the fandom waters down his complexity to "silly smol bean autism murder boi" and that's just... no.

Dexter is canonically a mentally deranged murderer and will spiral if he doesn't kill something within a certain period of time (as seen in episode 4 Deadly Smiles where he posessed the kids' Happy Fella doll and tries to kill them)

He CANONICALLY became an exterminator so he would have a constant supply of creatures to kill and yet the fandom just waters him down to a "silly innocent twink" and it pisses me off.

Whenever a fandom gets ahold of a complex character, especially a mentally ill or "crazy" one, that just so happens to be a bit silly or act quirky, the character's lore immediately gets erased or watered down in fanon to where they're just some playful innocent guy who just so happens to kill people. It happened in the Creepypasta fandom too, and they're also doing it to Bob in a way but it's to a much worse degree with Dexter.

Sr. Pelo describes Dexter's character as a bad person trying not to get worse, and even calls him a "sicko"

No, he wouldn't cry over a movie, no he wouldn't cling to Bob's or whoever the hell you ship him with's shoulder 24/7 and whine whenever he's alone.

(Speaking of him being shipped with Bob, they canonically dislike eachother lol)

In canon he ENJOYS comitting murder, he would probably (assuming the person has no personal connection to him) laugh if he saw someone crying/on the brink of death (e.g. Streber) he wouldn't go out of his way to help people, he's (for lack of a better word) EVIL.

And what really bothers me about these types of fanon, is yeah, they do it with almost every character in one way or another, but it's always the ones that are MEANT to be bad people, to be almost, or completely unredeemable. They have their complexity stripped away from them.

Take "ticci" Toby Rogers, he was abused by his father, he was bullied in school for having Tourette's Syndrome, watched his sister, the only person who cared for him (other than his mom) die in a car crash, then spiraled and killed his dad. The Creepypasta fandom waters him down to some innocent uwu waffle loving boy, and that's just... taking away from the entire story.

They're doing the same with Dexter too, like, actually look into the lore, you don't even have to do much reading between the lines when watching the show to see that he's literally DERANGED.

What these fanons are doing is just taking the character's name, design, (sometimes they even change how they look beyond recognition too :/) and just making a new character with it. It makes me so mad.

I could apply this to a gazillion different fanbases, like how I used Creepypasta as an example, but Spooky Month is my hyperfixation and I hold CANON Dexter very near and dear to me because he's a comfort character for me and it just INFURIATES ME seeing how they misportray him, I go looking for fanarts/fanfics/any fanworks of him and it's all just mischaracterized and it makes me physically cringe every time i see it.

Dexter's entire thing is that he's awful and you're supposed to find his misfortune funny. Which it is! But it also makes him sympathetic, in a way? His entire predicament with Moloch and the doll was simply just wrong place, wrong time

Like-- I feel like if he hadn't got body snatched by Moloch, he would have been similar to Frank, a dude that does horrible things but it's offset by him being goofy

If it hadn't happened he'd have absolutely NO beef with the Spookeez, he'd still be living his life and I think that's what gets me

And hell, even with his needs he has some morals? He chooses to kill animals instead of people because he doesn't want to harm humans unless he absolutely has no other option, and it's just?? He's a mess but a multifacted mess and probably the SM character I'd like to dissect most under a microscope

What’s that thing Sr Pelo said about him that one time? He’s a bad guy trying not to get worse? That’s one of the most intriguing character ideas I’ve ever heard.

And like- Unwanted Guest happened in June, and Deadly Smiles happened in like late December — early January I think, so Dexter was able to go half a year without killing anything. The kids took him everywhere, he spent all his time with them, and he only resorted to killing THEM when he absolutely couldn’t take it anymore. Before then he tried breaking away, he tried getting them to give him animals, and he even tried killing other random people. Killing the kids was his last resort, only to be done when NOTHING else worked

So, um, Gregor is DEFINITELY a cultist... The implications of this, especially for episode 6, are very interesting. Expect some more SM theory stuff coming soon. (On a side note, I'm not sure, but it looks like their doing a secret Santa, which is so funny and wholesome, as weird as it feels to say that about a cult that's trying to take over the world)

Honestly I do not get people getting so fucking mad or act all disgusted with Dexter x Bob aka RatMeat🐀🥩. The amount of people I've seen on tiktok and YouTube acting this way was ridiculous.

Theres legitimately nothing wrong with RatMeat 🐀🥩, hell most have more issue when it's specifically Dexter Doll x Bob. Which is just silly (especially with him being based on Chucky who literally is in a relationship with Tiffany who for a period of time is and was a human)? There's no difference.

Both characters are full grown adults, there's nothing wrong with it in any way.

Like its fine to dislike it but bruh leave people who ship it alone if you don't, it's a completely normal ship.
