I feel like in general, she sings to you a lot, usually in the comfort of your shared apartment

Will grab your hands and dance with you back and forth with a big smile on her face

She always knows when to dance with you, too, like

She can pick up on when you're having a bad day and she knows how to approach the situation perfectly

It's probably from her time being an agent, analyzing situations and body language, but she's also just an intuitive person :3

Will force you to get outside and go on walks with her, will point out the funny shapes in the clouds with you and will even buy you ice cream or boba!

When you're working on something, say on the couch, she'll just plant her head in your lap and stretch out unbothered with a yawn

"Uh... Eight?" "Hm?" She yawned, closing her eyes happily as she pushed the laptop out of your grasp

"I was working on-" "No.-" She cut off, looking up at you with a pout

"Come on and cuddle." She whined, demanding attention as she snuggled her head into your lap

In the mornings when she's really sleepy, she'll even cuddle you from behind and rest her head on your back

She gets close, right up against you, but sometimes she wants her space

She usually will always have a body part touching you though, cause she just likes to be close to you

Having dates with Eight is so fun because god forbid it's like turf, say, she gets ultra protective of you whilst also being your biggest fan

Like, during matches, she'll hype you up even if you're on the opposing team and will splat her own teammates (or try to) if they're coming at you

You were getting slammered by a Splatana user, they just wouldn't leave you alone!

Suddenly, from across the map, you hear a loud charge ring out!

Shit! This time she was actually going to splat you!

But the body next to you fell to the ground, and the little spirit floated up with a whine.

You looked back at Eight, who now stood there from behind the bridge hiding spot

She waved to you with a closed mouth smile, her E-Litre perched on the cement top

You had to stop swooning over how cute she looked because you almost got splatted yourself-

Eight could be so clueless sometimes tho, it was hilarious

A turf player was explaining turf to you like you were stupid, and you were clearly uninterested

Looking to Eight, you gave her a look, hoping she'd catch on, but instead, she just smiled at you confused-

Oh, Eight... what are we gonna do with you

After that conversation the best thing she said was, "He smelled like Crusty Sean's van... embarrassing."

Eight's facial expressions are everything omg-

When she dislikes something, she makes it known

But the cutest of them all was when she once saw you <3

The two of you had been apart for a long time due to her work during SO, and she had texted you that she would be coming home soon

You decided to meet her at the entrance to the train station, and you noticed her walking around nonchalantly taking in a new part of the city

Suddenly, she caught a look of you, and she did a double take

Her previously grim expression was now full of joy as she saw you and all of your greatness

See? Y'all, when I'm telling you she loves you... she loves you

She instantly rushed over and hugged you, kissing your cheek a ton as she greeted you

"I missed you so much!" Her voice rang out, happiness in every word

Her accent makes everything cuter omg

When she pronounces certain words, she says them uniquely and it's so cute

You tease her about it sometimes and she doesn't even pay any mind to it, just repeats the word with cute confusion

"And so I was telling him to give me the Octo Snypear (Sniper)." "Heh... Snypear."

"Snypear."

"..." "..."

"Anyways-"

You're not judging her for her accent, you just find it cute that she pronounces certain words a certain way

Surprise, surprise, Eight gets needy

Aside from her wanting to cuddle, there are some days that she comes up to you and just needs a hug

Sometimes her mind gets too foggy and the memories get to be too much, and she just needs you to be there for her

She walked over to you, your smile fading upon seeing her own frown

"Baby, what's wrong?" She didn't say anything, just hugged you and whined softly

Poor baby just needed some comfort and your touch

It's often all she needs

She'll take naps cuddled up on your shoulder, her head resting there as she hugs your torso

Surprisingly, she's not too big on lip kisses, but she does love a good makeout sesh here and there

For the most part, she'll kiss any other part of your body like your hands, your cheeks

But each kiss is fast and repetitive

She just loves you so much, and she shows you

Through her care for you, her kisses, her little favors for you

Need something?

Before you could think of it, she's on it

The best thing about Eight, was that one night, after a bad breakdown for you

You went to take a shower, and when you came out, the towels laid out for you were warm, fresh out the dryer...

This girl took the time to do that for you... she really loves you

Ordered Callie loredump

(Sorry to ppl asking about other aus, I will get to you soon)

Callie and Marie were lucky enough to be in alterna when Order took over inkopolis square. The zoned-out inkopolis residents had suddenly changed, now wearing masks and donning grey, metallic skin, and they turned inkopolis square into a place of order. In short, Eight did not succeed and Order takes over inkopolis, with the goal to take over the rest of the splatoon world. Marie and Callie and the Agent 3s are able to become part of a resistance, though they mourn agent 4 and 8. They work to find any sort of way to cut off Orders influence, but nothing has worked yet. And it seems whatever was done to these 'orderlings', or parallel canon, is extremely difficult to undo. It's under these circumstances that Marie brings up the idea that after everything is over, she'd like to move into her own place to finally get some peace and quiet from all these world ending disasters. Callie, internally breaking a bit at the thought, plasters on a smile and says she's okay with it. She is, after all. No way she's going to hold Marie back. She still feels a little guilty for forcing Marie to take care of her so many times with those hypnoshades. Yet with all this, a small part of Callie starts to yearn for things to not change between them. For stability. For Order.

And so, as is what happens, she wakes up in the Spire of Order. The first step of being transformed into a part of Parallel Canon.

Of course, Callie isn't going to take this lying down, even if this is a point of no return, and a few more dreams later she'll be in line. Callie stays awake for the next few days to try and keep herself from turning, even thought she knows its inevitable. This lack of sleep, as well as trying and failing to let a busy Marie know what's going on, puts her in a bad mood, and she gets into an argument with Marie, finally letting it spill how she feels about the idea of Marie leaving, halfway through which she passes out.

Marie isn't hurt by the argument when she sees how sleep-deprived Callie is, and helps take her to her bed. She can talk with Callie about it in the morning. Except the next morning Callie has disappeared. Marie realizes what must have happened around this point, and rushes to inkopolis square, sneaking around, only to find that Callie has indeed become a part of Parallel Canon. This is where she pulls the mask off, despite Callie's clear distress.

After that, Marie has to take this brainwashed Callie back with her without Callie getting them captured. This is more difficult then getting there in the first place. They have to go on foot, and Marie hopes that when they get there, they can find some way to bring Callie back to her old, dynamic self. While this Callie acts like Callie typically does, that's the problem. She acts like Callie on autopilot, cheerful and a bit clueless at times, never scared or worried or serious, lacking any ability to grow or adapt to the situation. And, of course, she doesn't want to go back to her old self. She isn't worried about it anymore, though, not when everything is so clear now. She knows that what happened to her will happen to everyone, eventually, and everything going to turn out just perfect, which is why she isn't that worried about Marie squidnapping her. She says this to Marie, even.

The only thing is, she's being put in situations where she DOES end up adapting and changing, and it's slowly eroding at that brainwashing bit by bit. The more this happens, the more agitated she becomes.

Agent 3

love that she's from the splatoon equivalent of "the country" i think lmfao

also probably like. the first mention of parents in splatoon lore???

random self projection agent 3's parents are just like her in terms of affection and outward caring - theyre pretty aloof, when 3 said she wanted to leave they were like meh sure see ya kid

goes along with how i hc her as being very serious and mature, and a lil affection/friendship starved :*)

i want to believe 3 calls inkopolis a ""high color city"" it matches my hc that she thinks surprisingly maturely for their age and are basically an old person in a teens body ajsjdn

i also want to believe that 3 has no fashion sense. the trends keep changing and she can't keep up so she just wears her hero outfit and cape because it makes her feel cool and important

Agent 4

the "club activities" has so much potential. does she play sports. is it splatoon anime club. is she in the like. telepathy club i need answers

i feel like in general 4 has no concept of idols and pop culture. not in the same "old person" way as 3 she just. genuinely has no idea what is going on at any given time. just absolutely clueless and enjoying life

they blended in really well to city life when they moved to inkopolis. so who better to show 8 around and get them acquainted! :) they get an apartment together really briefly before 4 spends all their rent money on sneakers and they get evicted

i love how specifically 3 and how cool they think 3 is is what converted them. yes a little of the inkantation but watching 3 specifically and looking up to 3

they admire 3 sm it makes my heart warm :*)

compared to what they had to go through in the metro, turf wars is a cake walk lol they dont even competively play with other inklings bc they wipe them out every time after they emerge

I hope this isn't too personal or anything but what kind of relationship do you have with Dove? Do you have her phone number and actually talk to her or is it more of a fan level relationship? I'm not trying to be mean or anything I'm just a new follower and don't know a whole lot

we're married /j

no youre totally fine!! it is a fan relationship but like to the extent that she knows who i am, remembers me, remembers details about me, etc. and ive met her many times over the last 8 years

ill put it in under read more for the people that have already heard these stories hundreds of times lol

i first met her at d23 expo 2015 when i was cosplaying as maddie. was absolutely sobbing when i met her and she started to tear up herself. she called me honey and sweetheart and rocked me back and forth while i hugged her still bawling lol

my first liv and maddie taping was about 2 months later and when i reminded her who i was (she didnt know right away but i get that since i wasnt wearing glasses or a ponytail) she jumped out of her chair hugged me and said HI SWEETY and wouldnt let me go even when jordan fisher started talking to me lol (he recognized me too) she told me my cosplay made her whole weekend.

we had some more great interactions at the next few live tapings. at the last one with a meet and greet, she said "i know you!!" right when she saw me. i mentioned my mom coming to the following taping (which sadly never happened bc it was cancelled) and she was like "ive never met your mom!!" and the fact that she was aware of that and saw it as something important warmed my heart.

about a year passed without seeing her but i saw her again at the 2017 rdmas which was the first time she said "i love you" to me without me saying it first. this was around when she really started to remember me without me having to reintroduce myself.

the rise of the isle of the lost book launch was the following month and she said she loved that im always at these events. 2 months later was d23 again and she said "hi love!! how are you!?" when i got my descendants 2 cd signed by her.

one of my favorite interactions was 2 weeks after that at the stage door of mamma mia at the hollywood bowl. right upon seeing me she said "hi baby!!," hugged me, and asked how id been in the last two weeks since we'd seen each other. at the time, i didnt know when id see her again so i took a moment to remind her how much she means to me and she said "you are an angel in my life."

a random meet and greet came up a few months later for her hair extension line where i was once again greeted with an immediate "hi baby!!" and hug. when i walked away and waved goodbye she shouted "i love you!!"

another favorite was at a panel for agents of shield the following year that happened in nyc when i just so happened to be there for spring break. as she walked in the room while they were playing a clip, she quietly said hi to people and gasped upon seeing me, gave me the usual "hi baby!" and stopped on her way to the stage to give me a hug. after the panel, she said goodbye to everyone, saying "i love you, i love you, i love YOU" and hugged me again saying "thank you for being here as always"

8 months later was the first preview of clueless the musical which i went back to nyc specifically for. this was another all time fav interaction. her face lit up when she saw me in the stage door crowd. when she was done meeting other fans, i once again got hi baby, "so good to see you," and her telling me she saw me in the audience + proving she meant it by telling me where i was (so she def saw me drooling over her for 2 and a half hours...but she probably expected that from me). i met thomas that night as well and my mom was with me too and she said "hey babe, they approve of you! and theyve been around longer than you have!"

about half a year later was disney channel fan fest where i once again got a hi baby when i was next in line plus a cute little dance over to me that lead into hug when i walked up.

that was my last interaction pre-covid and the only ones ive had since (save for her 2021 concert where we did interact but im not certain she knew it was "me" bc we didnt like talk and i was wearing a mask) have been at the cameron boyce foundation gala where ofc shes still sweet to me but naturally shes not as excited or talkative given that were mourning someone. but last year, she said "hi babe!" and gave me a hug. i didnt get to talk to her much then but this year i wanted her to know that even tho i wasnt able to show it for a while bc of quarantine that im still supporting her every step of the way and she brushed my arm sweetly and thanked me. she blew my friend and i kisses when she left and told us she loved us.

worth noting tho that the only social media interactions weve had have been her liking a handful of my comments on instagram and tiktok, and i cant even be sure that she knows the comments shes liking are from "me." i have too much social anxiety to be on stan twitter, so we dont communicate over social media at all or anything. but she knows me on a face to face basis and knows ive been there from the beginning and have gone to lengths to see her in her biggest moments.

Spring 2023 Anime Roundup

Anime of the Season – Skip and Loafer

It’s rare enough for a manga I read and love to get an anime adaptation, and to have a top-tier studio adapt it is even rarer still, so this adaptation of one of my very favorite series by P.A. Works, a studio that only makes bangers, is pretty much a dream come true. The strength of the series is in its writing, especially in how it writes characters who appear to be common archetypes, but eventually show themselves to be individuals who are neither too good nor completely bad. This would have likely stood out no matter who adapted it, and made for an enjoyable story, but luckily it was adapted by a director who nailed the wistful watercolor art style of the manga, and framed and lit the scenes perfectly, taking this to another level entirely. The end result is a series about two very different kids – an awkward, overachieving girl from the sticks and an easy-going, charismatic city boy – that shows how high school can be bewildering, magical, and life-changing all at the same time. 10/10

First Runner-Up – Vinland Saga S2

This season was the masterful payoff for every frustrating thing Thorfinn did in season one. It was obvious then that he was making terrible decisions because of his youth and his trauma, and this season of farming as a slave on a Danish farm was all about him beginning to understand what he’d done and the incredibly difficult process of atonement he has in front of him. 9/10

Second Runner-Up – My Love Story with Yamada-kun at Lv999

You know we’re in a sort of shoujo anime renaissance when you see the names Morio Asaka and Madhouse together again, and this series did not disappoint. Akane was a delightfully messy heroine, and it was a ton of fun to watch outwardly stoic gamer Yamada slowly catch feelings for the agent of chaos that stumbled into his life. 8/10

The Dangers in My Heart – When this opened up with the male lead saying he wanted to hurt the prettiest girl in class and see her in tears, I was a little concerned about what I was getting into, but it quickly became evident that it was a clever story about a middle-school edgelord figuring out that he just had a normal-ass crush on a girl and deciding to shed parts of his tweenage identity that don’t suit him anymore. 8/10

Golden Kamuy S4 – One part period drama, one part crime thriller, and one part black and/or blue comedy, there really is nothing else quite like this show in anime. It’s nothing short of masterful how it handles multiple crews of questionable dudes all trying to outwit each other while cracking the most irreverent jokes along the way. 8/10

Birdie Wing: Golf Girls’ Story S2 – While this season was not quite as balls-to-the-wall audacious as the first season, it was still a high-octane sports anime about girls playing golf in international tournaments under the thumb of mafia and business organizations, with a liberal sprinkling of Gundam references, and I’ll take all the intense girls’ sports anime they’ll give me. 8/10

Why Raeliana Ended up at the Duke’s Mansion – It will eat away at me until the day I die that they gave this top-tier romantic suspense manhwa adaptation to a fourth-rate studio that couldn’t animate or storyboard to save its life. Raeliana is a fantastic self-saving heroine, Noah is the perfect sarcastic love interest, and the art was beautiful, but, goddamn, that animation was not good. 8/10

My Clueless First Friend – On first glance, this looks like just another school-set shounen romcom that pairs an aggressive character with one who just blushes, but a couple episodes in it shows some real emotional depth that sets it apart. If the male lead is this dedicated to hyping up his best girl while he’s in elementary school, he’s going to be a force of nature later. 7/10

Insomniacs After School – There was a lot I loved about this series. The way the male and female leads connected over their shared struggle with insomnia was really satisfying to watch, and I loved seeing them be physically affectionate with each other. It just lacked any soaring moments to truly wow me. 7/10

The Ancient Magus’ Bride S2 – When I saw that this season took place in a school for young magicians and sorcerers in England, I have to admit that I rolled my eyes a bit, but it introduced a good crop of unique characters and seems to be building up to a meaty conflict for cour two in the fall. 7/10

Hell’s Paradise – I really enjoyed the visuals and many of the colorful characters in this supernatural-tinged action adventure, but something I can’t quite put my finger on in the writing kept me from really getting into it. 7/10

Otaku Elf – This was a perfectly pleasant little slice of life about an elf woman who has been living in Japan since the Edo era and is currently enshrined as a local temple’s god. The conversations about history and present day nerdery between the elf and her helper were really charming. 7/10

Dead Mount Death Play – You don’t see reverse isekai all that often, and this is having some fun with the idea, as the isekaied necromancer archvillain transported to Japan might be one of the least evil characters in the story. 7/10

Dr. Stone: New World – I enjoy this series less and less with each subsequent season, as it becomes more and more blatant that science is for boys and cooking and sewing are for girls. Their adventure across the sea is still entertaining enough, but the worldview is grating. 7/10

KamiKatsu: Working for God in a Godless World – There were a number of novel and creative ideas in this isekai story about the son of a cult leader getting sent to a world without gods and proceeding to build power via religious techniques, but the story wasn’t really coherent, and while the production lampshaded its shortcomings, they were still shortcomings. A whole mess, but an entertaining mess. 6/10

The Legendary Hero Is Dead! – I generally give anything tagged as ecchi a hard pass, but the opening theme song was catchy and the premise sounded kind of fun, so I gave it a try. I mostly enjoyed myself, but the story didn’t always make sense, and there were too many thigh gaps for a show centered on a leg guy. 6/10

A Galaxy Next Door – This romance featuring a shoujo mangaka and his assistant wasn’t bad, but the story was so frictionless, the characters were so well-behaved, and the voice actors sounded so much like customer service reps, that there was nothing to really hook me. 6/10

Oshi No Ko – I’ve been fascinated by the reaction to this show as some sort of masterpiece, as I found it deeply mediocre. It couldn’t decide if it was trying to be a revenge fantasy, a murder mystery, or a showbiz drama, and the infodumping via the dialogue was egregious. Each episode left me wanting to rewatch Idolish7. 6/10

Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible – This was just one of those romcoms about a nondescript boy who attracts the persistent attention of a pretty girl that was neither good nor bad. Additionally, it had a frustrating tendency to explain to the viewer with dialogue what was already apparent via the action instead of trusting the viewer. 6/10

Too Cute Crisis – I can’t decide if the problem with this show about invading aliens waylaid by cute animals was a matter of directing or of writing, but it lacked the proper build up and comedic timing for the jokes and relied too heavily on the actors yelling the punchline to get a laugh. 6/10

Mashle: Magic and Muscles – On paper, this shounen comedy about a boy without magic dominating a magic high school really sounded like my kind of thing. In practice, however, none of the jokes landed for me and the fights were tediously boring. 5/10

Magical Destroyers – This gritty magical girl show set in a world where otaku are systematically oppressed by the government is every bit as shallow and undercooked as the premise sounds, and the visuals are not special enough to redeem it. The creator came up with the idea in high school, and it shows. 4/10

General 8: Who gets jealous easier?

Probably Vanderwood. Because as smart as he is, he's usually clueless when people flirt with him and Talia knows it. If anything she's usually amused when someone tries really hard to flirt with him.

On the other hand jealousy is something he never really experienced before he met her. So he's also not really good at handling or hiding it when someone hits on her. But let's be honest, one death glare is usually more than enough to scare the ever living shit out of that person.

Domestic 7: Who kills the bugs in the house?

Usually whoever sees it first. As agents they have both dealt with far worse things than some bugs. Though sometimes Talia theatrically calls him her hero for getting rid of bugs. He might roll his eyes at her but there's no denying he still enjoys hearing it.

Love 6: Who's the big and little spoon?

Most of the time Vanderwood is the big spoon. Unless Talia comes home late and he's already asleep, back turned towards her side of the bed. Then she'll just snuggle up to his back. Though more often than not he either wakes up or subconsciously turns around so they're facing each other. Legs entangled and either nose to nose or with her face buried on his neck or chest.

Ok I’m still overheating, people were racist at work, and no one knows how to goddamn driver where I live so let’s tackle season 1 episode 7 of Stranger Things!

1.) “if anyone asks where I am, I’ve left the country.” I forgot how much I love season 1 Mike. What a dipshit.

2.) a dozen shady government vans vs 4 middle schoolers on bikes: you’ll never believe who wins this race

3.) aw I forgot these kids have a music dwelling apology in what I think is the town junkyard.

4.) technically they didn’t have anything illegal in the car but it is very suspicious

5.) a government agent looking under a blanket on an armchair is very funny. What do you think is there, sir?????

Beyond Spectrum being a kabillion dollar conglomerate with just ok service and sky high pricing, we never dreamed the collections department would be calling us! Even more astrounding, the collections agent was calling for my father. When I told her, "You’re looking for my father not me." “What do you think you’re doing?!” You jerked when you heard Steve’s voice calling out to you, dropping your lipstick on your lap, your heart hammering in your chest.

You stared at his reflection in the dressing mirror. “God, Steve,” looking over your shoulder you glared at him, “Don’t you think you shouldn’t be sneaking up on me? Especially after everything that happened.”

His face immediately soften, muttering an apology to you, “But you’re not going out today.” He said in a tone that left no room for negotiation.

But you weren’t one of his agents or one to be bossed around. “And you get to tell me what to do, because?” folding your arms over your chest and mimicking his stance.

“Sweetheart, come on, don’t argue with me. It’s still dangerous for you out there.”

“What do you mean? I thought you arrested those guys. Who else would be after me?” you frowned.

He takes two long strides, standing before you and taking your hand in his “Clint has been interrogating them all night. They’ll crack soon enough and give up who they’re working for but we need to be careful till then.”

You sighed, “How long do you think it will be?”

“I don’t know, doll. Hopefully not too long.”

“Well, I can’t just stay locked up forever. Besides a locked door isn’t going to stop Hydra, I mean it didn’t the first time. So really what difference does it make if I’m in college or at home?”

“About that,” he rubbed the back of his neck, “how would you feel about moving into the Avengers tower?”

“What?” you blinked. You had heard of the Avengers living and working from the Avengers/Stark tower. It shouldn’t come as a surprise to you that Steve would possibly live there as well, but for some reason it did. “For how long?”

“Uh, we can give it a try and see how it goes?” he hesitated. He should’ve asked you to move there as soon as you told him you felt unsafe. The whole incident could’ve easily been avoided.

“I mean I wouldn’t mind living there, I think,” you shrugged, “it’s you I’m worried about.”

“What do you mean?” he tilted his head to the side, like a cute little puppy.

You got up from the chair, looping your hands over his neck and playing with the little hair on the nape of his neck, “You’re so cute and clueless, baby,” you cooed.

He huffed at that, puffing out his chest to show you how ‘macho' he is. Completely capable of protecting his girl from big bad guys no matter what.

“I just felt the tower is so unlike you. It’s so...”

Modern--was the word you were looking for, but that seemed too on the nose so you tried to think of a better adjective. You had only ever been to the tower a few times. The first was to make a delivery, when you met Steve for the first time, and then a few times at parties and little get-togethers. It was strange to think that you were part of the Avengers inner circle now, especially if you’re going to be living with them.

“So what?” he wanted to know.

“Just so not you, Stevie. I can’t imagine you living there.”

“We should’ve moved long ago. As soon as you told me about the stalker. I should’ve taken it more seriously.”

“Hey,” you traced his sharp cheekbone, “it’s not your fault. It’s nobody’s fault. Except the ones who did the kidnapping,” you scrunched up your nose, “they’ll get what’s coming to them though, right?”

“Of course, they’ll never hurt you or anyone else ever again,” he promised, kissing the inside of your wrist.

You kept looking at your watch. A gift from your mum for your high school graduation. It had a vintage feel to it, the thin leather strap making your hand look to delicate, Steve had always said that he liked it the best. He always did like you looking small compared to him.

The elevator dinged, “Exactly four minutes.”

“Hm?” he asked, lacing his fingers with yours as he walked towards ‘his' apartment. Or the apartment that was supposed to be his.

Tony had offered him boarding there when the tower was reconstructed months ago. He thought about it but eventually said no upon seeing just how big the apartment was.

Hell he had a whole floor to himself, which was too extravagant for him. He was used to taking only what he needed, if that.

More than that though...

You caught him looking at you, sparing him a sweet smile that crinkled your sparkling eyes.

More than that he didn’t want to live in such a large space all alone.

He would never share that with anyone, they’d laugh at Captain America being too scared of being alone. When he had the love and adoration of the whole world, a second chance at life and everything one could need to be happy.

But he still couldn’t bear the deafening silence of his lonely apartment. He’d get home from work, switch on the television so he’d have something to talk about with his colleagues, sip on a beer. It didn’t necessarily get him drunk or even taste all that great but it made him feel normal.

He never had to think about being alone in a strange new world all that much since he was often too busy. But he absolutely would not have an entire floor to himself. He’d surely go crazy.

“Four minutes for the elevator to get up here from the ground floor. It’s so high,” you marvelled at the view the floor to ceiling windows gave you.

“Yeah. They really should put some music there. They used to, back in my day,” he shared.

He wasn’t afraid of talking about his past with you. You never made fun of him for it, but instead listened intently and nodded. At most you’d tease him a bit... but he kinda liked that.

He punched in the code to his apartment, telling it to you, ��Your birthday,” he winked, “it’s changed every twenty-hour hours.”

“That seems a bit excessive. This place is like a fortress, I doubt anybody could break in.”

He held the door open for you as you entered. Surprised to find the apartment already furnished.

“How did they manage to do all this so soon?” you wondered. Running your hands on the leather of the couch in the middle of the living.

The dark couch went well with the hardwood floors. A tall bookshelf to the side, it felt almost like a study, your fears of it being too modern and minimalistic for Steve’s taste were null, too masculine for your taste though. It seemed a lot like Steve’s old apartment. “Needs a woman’s touch.”

“You can decorate it however you like,” he said, hugging you from behind, he propped his chin up on your head.

“I don’t know... I don’t have any experience decorating apartments...” your voice small, scared of not being able to live up to his expectations. “Certainly wouldn’t do as good a job as you did,” your back leaned into his front.

“I didn’t decorate this, honey,” he chuckled. “Tony hired an interior designer. A few months ago but I didn’t want to live here then. We can ask him to call her again and then you can talk to her.”

“No, I don’t want to cause trouble. And it’s not like we’re living here for long,” you shrugged.

“What do you mean?” his voice stiff and although you couldn’t look at him you just knew he was frowning.

“Isn’t it a bit too soon to move in together?”

“But we were already living together.”

You sighed, “Yeah, but making renovations seems too... permanent?”

“You don’t want us to be permanent?”

You turned around, your heart aching at even the thought of hurting him, “That’s not what I meant, love... Isn’t it weird to live where you work?”

“It’s better this way. I can get home to you sooner,” he argued.

“Well, I suppose that’s true.”

“Are you having second thoughts about us?” he asked.

You immediately shook your head, “It’s a bit intimidating, but nope, no second thoughts.”

“That’s good then.”

You often dreamt all things Steve ever since you started dating him. Marrying him, even having a little boy wearing a mini Captain America suit for Halloween who looked eerily similar to Steve. You called him James after Steve’s late friend, you hadn’t told him about that though.

This morning you were dreaming of being whisked away in Italy, having your wedding to him by lake Como. You were wearing a traditional forties style gown, much like the one your grandma wore at your wedding.

Scrunching your nose as you were pulled from your beautiful dream when you felt something wet on your cheek. Rubbing it away with your palm, you moaned.

“Wake up, sleeping beauty,” Steve cooed, peppering kisses all over your face. Knowing that to be the best way to calm you before you snapped at him for waking you up so early.

You opened your eyes, rubbing your sleep away, “It’s still dark... I thought we agreed I’m doing school online,” you turned away from him, nuzzling your face into your pillow. “What time is it?”

“It’s five.”

“Pm?”

He snorted, “No. AM.”
