Sonorasaurus is a species of dinosaur discovered in my state, Arizona. Odds are AZ was a swampland/rainforest back then, but my favorite thing is sauropods in the desert.

About two years old now, however I’ve always the enjoyed the composition of this piece.

Okay everyone b quiet for jus a second yesterday I went to the Sonoran Desert Museum and there were iguanas everywhere and no one noticed them at all for some reason so here's one I found next to a Sonorasaurus leg

Illustrious dinosaurs of Arizona. The chicken-headed one on the top is the official state dinosaur, the Sonorasaurus. The runner-up who looks like it’s saying “23 skidoo!” (prehistoric slang) is the Arizonasaurus. The more you know.

TIL the dinosaur Sonorasaurus was almost called Chihuahuasaurus after the Chihuahua desert where it was found, but they decided that sounded silly. This is a fucking tragedy, particularly because Sonorasaurus is huge and I can't think of anything better than a giant dinosaur called Chihuahuasaurus.

okay so there are fourteen states with official state dinosaurs and most of them are quite frankly dinos ive never heard of (have to admit i dont know a lot about dinos which is on me really! and im sorry for it)

In an attempt to encourage audience participation, this year’s pride dinosaur prompts are as simple as possible! 

Each week has a theme! And each theme is broad! Draw any dinosaur in each group you wish, in any pride color scheme/flag you want! 

Are you confused? Check out @queer-dinosaurs for some examples of what we mean! We highly encourage drawing dinosaurs and coloring them in different pride color schemes, but drawing dinosaurs in speculative queer behavior is great, as are photos of living dinosaurs that have pride-y color themes!
