My friend and I have the very random headcanon that the dude loves Martinis and can be found sipping one any time he has a little break.

Also, Graves hates the idea of aging and probably has a very expensive and extensive skin care routine, for sure.

So, I'm redoing Donovan(I swear I'll draw with with his big old wings, it's just easier for me to deal with it) because I reread some of the Dragon au stuff, and it got me thinking. What if the seer made his punishment more severe for his actions, having his draconic form more beastly, sharp, aggressive, hideous. How would that effect him, emotionally, and mentally, being forced to look in the mirror everyday and seeing a hideous beast staring back at him instead of his normal appearance, scales, fangs, claws, a long serpentine frame rippling with muscle. I can only imagine that pain he goes through, trying to find a way to reverse it but to no avail. Do you think he would go mad, lashing out at everything and everyone. Having his own soldiers trying to slay him in his sleep for his appearance? Having no warm hands coming his way ever again...but then years afterwards a poor unfortunate mage nearly burned at the stake for healing abilities or a tragic warrior who lost everything to dictators, the individual not caring about his appearance or his aggressive behavior, just wanting a place to stay and hide. Away from those who broke them at the camel's back. I wonder how Donovan would think if such a tragic soul found their way into his soul, healing him, shattering the ice around the burning ember of softness deep inside.

And I just laid Donovan bare there, holy crap. We'll, I hope you enjoyed my triad of a tragic octopus dragon bastard.

So, the way I see Dragon Donovan is that he doesn't terribly care about his appearance, or at least he pretends not to. For the first little while it was inconvenient since he was a lot larger than before, but it was relatively simple to enlarge the Dark Fortress since he still had a lot of mana. His whole schtick is conquering through fear so being a large, scary dragon only made that easier.

He doesn't have an army per say, since he prefers to summon his own soldiers, and the other three skeletons are more flunkies than anything. However, a dragon catches more attention than a sorcerer and after being transformed, there were a lot more attempts made on his life.

Only when the time period to break the curse is exhausted does he start to change. At first, he's visibly angry, destroying multiple rooms in the fortress in his fury. The boys decide to leave him alone for a few days, maybe they know why he's angry or maybe they don't, either way their reactions are another story entirely.

After he calms down, Donovan would shut himself in his quarters for several days, not wanting the others to see him in this state. He's more than distraught as he realizes that there's nothing he can do to reverse this transformation. For whatever reason, his soulmate never found him and now it wouldn't matter if they ever did.

It's business as usual after that, except he's more detached now. There's very little sign of the skeleton he once was and he's more ruthless than before. He doesn't care if he's seen as a beast at this point because he actually is one.

So imagine his shock when he crosses paths with an unfortunate warrior years later. One who could barely wield a sword and yet was determined to avenge their family. He doesn't know this individual, but they claim he destroyed their town when they were a child. Despite their anger, Donovan can sense there's something different about this person and, rather than kill them, he takes pity on them. He offers them a place to stay, a place to heal, and maybe a chance to improve their sword skills. It's under the guise of using them as another peon of course, but part of him wonders if he should dare to hope that maybe, just maybe, they're the one he was looking for all along.

The fluff is connected to their cloaks, so no shedding fortunately! (Except maybe a few stray hairs, as is the usual)

In fact Pebbles' cloak is a little weird because its more akin to weird fraying than additional fluff like Suns has. You may have seen in some of my doodles that i dont draw a line seperating it from the rest of the cloak. Its cause of that lmao

4. Movie of the year?

Inside out 2! A great sequel to a great movie! I really enjoyed it and it felt like a real and natural follow-up to the original. Every emotion felt in character and all their actions made sense and yes, that panic attack scene hit home.

11. Something you want to do again next year?

I would definitely like to see again some of the theater shows I saw, like Anastasia The Musical, or Da (I don't remember how that's written, hope I wrote it right), but I'm not sure if they will go for a second year. Also, I would like to visit again the festivals and the conventions I went to.

19. What’re you excited about for next year?

Well, other than visiting the same and perhaps more conventions and festivals, I'm excited at the prospect of writing more often again, maybe even actually working on my original story.

Hello! I feel like I ramble a bit here for such a simple question, but for those interested, spoilers under cut!

I've teased in asks before he will get intense as the story progresses, though for the sake of managing expectations, don't expect him to go all out just because it's Day 4.

Initially, I've considered multiple routes and endings for the next update, and by endings I mean True Bad Endings, but I might push them back so the pacing of the story doesn't feel jarring. Plus it lightens my load of writing multiple branches, something I always wanna avoid so I don't complicate things for myself.

I just feel that between the five sundowns after they separated at the end of Day 3 it'd be enough time for him to sort through his thoughts and come to a conclusion on how he feels. Nothing drastic, but there's definitely something that changed in him if that makes sense.

So while he's not fully unhinged (the door still functions so to speak), he's definitely growing loose,,,, I started out with the intent of writing a slow burn and I'd be remiss if I mess that up!

Vil is the Black Swan to Neige's White Swan. I know I could've gone for peacock since Pomefiore has a lot of peacock details, but I thought the Black/White Swan story was better. (Though the Black Swan would've fit Neige best for the intuitive facet of it while the White Swan would've fit Vil better for the hard working version of it, buuuuut... anyway.)

Leona is an Andean Condor. They are birds of prey with one of the biggest wingspan on earth (even bigger than Jamil's white tailed eagle by a whole meter)

Res AU Joronia drawings. Character rambling and bonus doodles under cut.

This AU takes place a good while after the events of Triple Deluxe happened. Since then, Taranza's mostly recovered mentally from everything. He was able to move on from his grief and (somewhat) forgive himself. Now that Joronia's in his life again, seemingly back to her former self, some of those wounds he'd thought were fully healed have started to ache again. He still feels ultimately guilty for what happened to her.

He's thrilled that Joronia's been given a second chance at life, but is somewhat wary deep down. This feels to good to be true, that she's just back with seemingly no strings attached. The other shoe could drop any day now, and he could lose her all over again. Fearing this, he wants to make the most out of what could be a short time to be together again with his friend.

Joronia senses that there's a distance between the two of them now that wasn't there before. It shouldn't be surprising; he's probably still hurt from what she did. Other people definitely are. She's determined, though, to work hard to make it up to everyone she's hurt, and to prove to them (and herself) that she's not really like that, that she's capable of being better.

The Mirror's influence twisted her mind and her perception of reality. It made her feel like she was inadequate, and that everyone else were enemies to be subjugated. Now, she's supposed to be normal and better, but she still feels like there's something wrong with her head. She still doesn't feel good enough, and it still feels like everyone hates her. It's hard to trust herself. She's not sure if it's some lingering effect of the Mirror, or if there's just something inherently wrong with her now. She's scared.

She's afraid that something will happen, that she'll revert to how she was as Queen, and that she'll hurt Taranza again. Someone who'd always helped her, who'd stuck with her even when she was absolutely horrible to him, and who's kindness she's relying on again now, staying at his home as she worked on getting her life back together. She's a burden on him, and she always has been. She hates it.

Still, her deepest, most selfish wish is that they could be real friends again.

These two need to have a long, honest discussion about their feelings toward each other and themselves. Both of them are absolutely terrified about that prospect, though, because they each think that the other secretly resents them to some degree. If they actually talked through it, they'd quickly realize that they both want the same thing.

Marvelous day to you, good sir/ma'am! I have a burning question in dire need of answering, and thus I have decided to turn to the one and only Monster Mashing Morbius Master John "Dunmeshi" Stash for help!

(Well, actually, I have multiple burning question but I'm saving those other questions for later since I'd like to do some research beforehand when I have the time before I resort to asking more questions.)

For a while now, I have been compiling my thoughts on all of Dungeon Meshi's characters and summing up different interpretations for myself, and this has been going swimmingly all things considered! However, one of these characters I have seen very little interpretations of aside from a handful of incredible fan fictions is the one and only "guy of all time"! Toshiro Nakamoto! Most people I talk to about the fella don't really have anything to say that I myself don't already think; that being that he's definitely the person of all time, a well-written character, understandably though no less dreadfully non-communicative, a poor team leader who could most definitely use some improvement, is complicit in Izutsumi's treatment—which, for the record, I think is good writing and makes sense, especially for the time, though that doesn't mean I won't hold it against him either way—and immensely patient for being able to put up with that little bell thing whatchamacallit. Overall he is just well-written, and his confrontation with Laios—not to mention the way Laios responds—is just... mwah! Chef's kiss! Both sides of that particular fight were also pretty relatable to me and taught me something valuable. It's just... a really good fight scene! Me likey! Life lessons with Dungeon Meshi, hahaha!

I get that there's likely not a whole lot else to go through since he doesn't appear all that often and really is just the person to ever exist, but before I wanted to move on to the next character, I decided to hop by and see if perhaps you'd be willing to share your opinion on him! Maybe you have something interesting I hadn't considered!

Hello! I'm happy to answer any questions so don't worry about sending them!

That said I'm maybe not the best person to ask opinions about Toshiro since I'm a known "not fan" of him, I have come to like him more compared to when I first finished dunmeshi but I probably still have some biases, I'll try not to lean too negative on this tho

With that in mind here's my thoughts

I think Toshiro is a great well written character too! His fight with Laios is amazing and I think on his side of the conflict is a culmination of his worst flaw: He's terrified of confrontation and just passively expects things to resolve themselves.

In the example of the Ogre extra he WANTS to do something about Tade being so thankfull to someone who enslaved her but he wont because he's afraid of challenging how things are/afraid of conflict/confrontation.

I don't think he's a bad person tho, I think he's just passively going thru the motions of life, Toshiro is constantly just thrown around by the people around him without resisting it, he didn't to go to the Island of his own accord: he's there because his father made him go, he didn't choose the retainers that went with him and he didn't even choose to join Laios' party, he just let it happen to him (which is also relatable unfortunately, get a grip man)

Even when having to speak up against Laios in their backstory comic Namari has to pull him to join them in the complaint, he wasn't gonna say anything even if it did bother him (unclear if it did)

Letting other people push and pull you around is also choice tho, he barely tries to resist them and never makes his boundaries clear. In a way him and Falin are similar actually, how both of them just go with what other people want instead of what they themselves want, their reasons are very different (Falin does it because it's what she thinks her loved ones want/need of her, Toshiro does it because he would rather not fight against it) but it is a harmful situation for both of them, you gotta live for yourselves guys.

The thing is that it's not like it doesn't bother him to be pushed around, in the Laios fight years of bottled up emotions finally burst out and he says everything he was holding in the worst way possible, instead of managing his frustrations and setting boundaries with Laios he held it all in until he couldn't anymore, my man is not good at communication or handling conflict.

In another example he gets pissed off at Maizuru for using the Hag to scare him as a kid but also decides not to say anything about it, his relationship with Maizuru is actually also based on repressed feelings that he would rather bottle up and not think about (maybe these too will burst out one day if he doesn't properly deal with it)

But the thing about Toshiro I like the most honestly it's his feelings towards Falin, I might have made fun of him for literally goin "I like her cause she's not like other girls" but honestly I get it, she's a mystery, someone who is always only doing things for other people, and he saw her showing genuine interest in something that wouldn't matter for most people, or most people would find disgusting, so he was interested in her.

People joke that Falin and Laios are the same so Toshiro should like Laios too but Falin isn't as open and bold as Laios, so I think Toshiro wants to actually get to know her, but as I understand for his culture being interested in a woman and wanting to be close to her means asking her in marriage? and so he did, and even then he was still not being clear about his feelings.

That's why I LOVE the extra where him and Falin are finally honest and direct to each other, they're both people who just accept what others push onto them, Falin herself never gave him a response for a year cause she similarly would rather avoid conflict, but here they finally start being honest and direct with each other. I'm pretty sure he knew what her response would be but he still clearly told her and accepted her answer, my man confronted something uncomfortable gracefully, good job.

I avoided speaking on the more negatives opinions I have cause I believe those are what most people talk about but even with the negatives I think Toshiro has room to grow and definitely seems to already be on that path, like Maizuru says he has potential to be a great leader, he just needs to finally take charge of his own life and not be afraid to disrupt how things are

Just as a final thought I wish (some) people realized he has power over his retainers and even Maizuru, who people think is the source of his trauma, is still just a subordinate that can't really do anything against him. The source of his trauma is his father who also has power over Maizuru and made her raise his son (while still having an affair with her) if you're gonna blame someone for how he is blame his father smh
