Meeting Zelda in person for the "first time" ❤️
Link answered her question with a smile and a very, very tight hug.
The emptiness he felt waking up alone in the shrine of Resurrection, somehow knowing he "lost something...or someone"...it vanished instantly once he hold Zelda in his arms. He knew. and his heart felt full again.
Zelda can't believe Link is really is here. Alive, breathing, holding her. Knowing who she is.
The next shot of the sequence would be them slightly parting, Link takes Zelda's hand in his and rest them on his heart, saying "Yes. I remember you."

Extra Note
I always pictured the follow up to "do you really remember me" like the iconic Final Fantasy VIII Rinoa & Squall's reunion scene. FF8 is a milestone game title in my life. I doodled this in homage of the game's 25th anniversary celebration. Happy Anniversary FF8!! You are an imperfect game, and i dont care. I love you ❤️

What to do with 10 trillion dollars
I spent way too much time actually answering a reddit question of "How would you spend 10 trillion dollars if you needed to in 20 years. You will die after 20 years." So, I figured I'd share it here.
With only $10 trillion dollars you can't stabilize greenhouse gases or get rid of fossil fuels, which are 13t and 44t respectively. I'm using a variety of sources, so don't expect citations.
I did slightly overpay for things, strategically, partially because I can only imagine doing the things I would do would make it more expensive than it would otherwise be. You'll see.
I'm presuming I don't get assassinated.
What you can do (I did the math) figures are in Billions:
Personal (2.44/10000):
1.44 on remaking 8 games as mid-line AAA games (I chose Legend of Dragoon, FF8, Witcher 1, and the Legacy of Kain series).
.214 on 50 years of housing and buying yourself a $130,000,000 home in NYC. Includes taxes, maintenance, and furniture.
.15 on household staff for 50 years, with at double the normal pay
.000327 to put 3 kids through the best pre-k and best college in the country
.664 setting up each of those 3 kids with their own equivalent home and staff setup
Public Service (4303/10000):
Big one out of the way. 2500bn in lobbying/buying up American politicians to enact structural reforms I want to see. You would think this would be way too much, since the presidential election in 2020 only had 14.4 in it. This amounts to averaging 250 in spending every election cycle, even off-year. I counter with the global commercial banking market having a market cap of 2800 in 2023. The defense industry is almost 480. Health insurance in the US is 1600. This is an expensive, long-drawn fight. This is likely the single most important thing on the list. Anti-corruption measures, labor rights, pro-democracy reforms, including ultimately making it illegal for other people to buy more elections.
a cumulative total of 1803 spent on:
curing the most common cause of blindness worldwide
eradicating polio, rabies, elephantitis, malaria, world hunger, COVID19 issues, Water + Sanitation access, extreme poverty, homelessness in USA, Canada, and UK (I looked for China, Indonesia, Nigeria, Egypt, and Pakistan but couldn't find real numbers),
protecting the Amazon rainforest
Corporate Fixing (5692/10000):
Buying up and changing (converting to Co-Ops, converting to non-profits, dissolving, or something in line with those:
Meta
Amazon
Disney
JP Morgan Chase
Lockheed Martin
Delta
Alphabet
Asda
Tesco
Nike
The Weinstein Company
United Airlines
Shein
EA
BP
Bayer (side-note: they own/are Monsanto now)
De Beers
Vonovia Real Estate Developers
DLE
Ubisoft
Ikea
Shueisha
and Viz Media
It leaves me with 1.4bn left over. I'm comfortable with saying an additional billion would likely be used up administratively as things get a bit more expensive than I thought they would.
Honestly, I could likely blow it on close friends and family who need it. If you have an issue with the house spending being for 50 years instead of 30, that can just be shuffled around a bit to include more people in my personal life to meet the same number.
Leaving me with 470 million to spend elsewhere in the next 20 years. Expensive vacations, nice cars, donating to "smaller" issues as I see worthwhile, giving family and friends money for their ventures/dreams, etc. make me think it wouldn't actually be hard to lose track of that much money in those many years.
Hell, if I want to I can probably spend a million bucks on food a year just for my family. Probably more, if I actively try to do so.

FF8 Live Reacts
Started the ps4 remaster of final fantasy 8 in may 2024. Finished in August. I've never played it before. Here's my live reacts. This is a compilation of the discord messages I sent during this time period while playing it.
Spoilers: I didn't like it and this is mostly a rant of me hating on it
(dates are dd/mm/yyyy)
Got rid of my ps5 a couple weeks ago, but guess who remembered there were still ps4 games they were interested in? I just bought disco elysium and ff8 remaster. Will be delivered on the 20th I've actually never played ff8 at all, but have always wanted to and now I'm going to attempt to make more headway in ps4 ff8
and boy do I have THOUGHTS about ff8 most of which are "ff9 is better" and "man RPGs back in the day really expect you to already know how RPGs work" but I'm only 2 hours in so who knows!
I definitely didn't pay enough attention to the dialogue originally, so I had to pull out a game walkthrough for THE FIRST AREA Which is fine, I guess, because this is a direct repeat of what happened when I played ff9 for the first time - got lost in the world map when the area I was supposed to go to was literally straight ahead quest markers and shit were amazing inventions, man, I'm glad those exist now
27/05/2024 11:21 I'm trying to give ff8 the old college try, but if I keep having to consult the playthrough every 5 minutes, I might just pull the plug
anyway I did not have much on the to do list for today, but I somehow finished it I will now go off to try to progress in that ps4 ff8 I could go off on complaining about stupid things with this game but I've brought on enough negativity for today ps4 ff8 it is, then I have come to a good point in the game to start grinding Somehow this is more fulfilling than the actual story
I guess I know now why I've wanted to play ff8 for so long. Teenage me would have loved ff8 First of all, squall (the main character) is just the perfect character design for my desires at the time, bonus points he looked just like me fr Also I love scars on the face, he was probably the whole source of that archetype The story is about them becoming mercenaries and doing mercenary things. Like's like, the bread and butter of every kid chat roleplaying those days, myself included of course. Who WASN'T a mostly silent merc who secretly hated everything but everyone looked up to? Unfortunately, my disappointment starts with the very beginning of the game: the opening cinematic
It plays off like some kind of abstract dream thing, but no, you're actually supposed to believe this is a thing that actually happened in real time. it's not an epic battle, it's just a stupid sparring match between classmates(? friends?) random visions of a woman are totally what causes squall to not beat seifer!! /s the scar DOESN'T HAVE ANY SPECIAL MEANING :tisacry:
Epic battle, epic music, mysterious circumstances
Actually just a training exercise between two 15 year olds who should not have been given the ability to use real weapons The first thing that happens in-game is squall going to the infirmary for his new injury, which somehow isn't serious or prevents him from doing anything that day, but is also enough to leave a scar. On his face.
Then we have Quistis, his instructor, who has only been teaching for 1 year, and turned 18 while she was teaching (Why are these people so young?) And she very much behaves exactly like a 17-18 year old, so it's no wonder that after the merc test she reveals to you (Squall) that 1. she got fired from teaching and 2. She's definitely DTF you (Squall is completely oblivious though) You finally meet the girl of your dreams at the ball you're voluntold to go to as a new merc, her name is rinoa and her opening line to you is "You're the best looking guy here" except that LATER you learn this is actually seifier's (the guy who gave you a scar) girlfriend Now, don't ask me how this works, because rinoa says that she met seifer that night but then when seifer "dies" when he encounters the sorcess for the first time, she says he was her boyfriend and has lots of good memories of him so yeah this doesn't make sense at all but WHATEVER
The "main" story is that a country(?) Is attempting to establish independence from another country, who is trying to take over the world with the help of a sorceress. I am currently only 6 hours into the game / not that far into the story. I have only just seen her for the first time, where she is like "You should come with me" and seifer just goes with her because he's a fucking tool One of their teammates blabs that this coup is from their organization ("the garden" ), so there might be some retribution (surprisingly there is none??????) and by the time the group gets back to a garden (HQ), they say that seifer was tried and his sentence was served, and everyone assumes it's execution. I have just left the garden and am on my way to… somewhere (I honestly forgot where lmao). And I am taking this break to grind Which leads me to my next complaint: the gameplay I HATE THE JUNCTION SYSTEM I like the IDEA of the junction system, and I can kind of see how FFX's sphere grid (and aeon upgrading) grew from it (I love the sphere grid, but it was also very imposing to a newbie). My main problems with the junction system, aside from the fact that it's got a severe learning curve, is that a GF (summon) must be junctioned to a character in order for that character to be able to have ANYTHING on their battle menu aside from "attack" Do you want to be able to use magic in a battle? haha fuck you, need a GF junctioned. How about an item? Nope, hope you have junctioned a GF to this character! haha!! Who the fuck decided to link these things
The OTHER main thing I hate about the junction system is that no character can perform magic innately. It has to be junctioned too. And in order to cast a spell, you have to steal it from someone else first ("stock" the magic). And what's even worse about this magic stocking thing, is that your stats are connected to your magic stock, so using any of your stocked magic will result in lowering your stats, creating this awful system where you should get 100 (the max) stock of every spell that has worthwhile stats increases and then NEVER CAST THEM IN BATTLE EVER So anyway I'm grinding in order to get 100 of the spells FOR EACH CHARACTER so I can get max stats I also am grinding to overlevel my characters because this absurd system has made it guaranteed I will concentrate on physical attacks OH THE OVERDRIVE SYSTEM It's called something else but I can't remember what atm It kicks in when you're low on health, or, in the ps4 version (which I'm playing) you cna press a button and it becomes available whenever. But the thing about it is that the interface sucks. It's not a separate menu option. It's a submenu of attack. so in order to use your overdrive, you have to put your cursor on "attack" then move it to THE RIGHT and then select the overdrive you want to use. (side note: pagination in this game is to the right/left, which I also hate) So if you are like me, and have the battles on x3 speed (another thing they added to the ps4 version) and are just holding down X to get through most of the boring ass battles, you will never do any overdrives I have the cursor thing on memory, so maybe if I turn overdrives on manually and select them once they'd automatically do it from that point forward, but that seems like cheating? So I haven't done it Actually I'm very confused on why the manual overdrive button is a thing that was added at all well anyway this concludes the rant I had bottled up from yesterday I will now start grinding on ps4 ff8 (As I chose to write this instead of actually starting the game when I mentioned it)
I discovered the written seed tests. I couldn't get higher than 80 on the first one. So of course I looked up the answers and now I'm at max level with no more tests to take 😂
At least I won't have any money issues anymore now
07/06/2024 23:47 I think I hate all the characters in ff8
Not only that, the music choice sucks ass
Like it actively makes every scene more boring
Idk how they got so much so wrong in this one. I'm glad 9 was my first ff
I just got to the scene where squall "dies" from the first fight with the sorceress.
Ff8 is just boring so far. I'll keep playing it until I either beat it or actively hate it
29/06/2024 18:48 I made it to disc 2 of ff8 Kind of disappointed there's no in-game indication that you have moved to disc 2 [in the remaster], aside from the subtitle in the save file
23/08/2024 21:35 Turns out the button that gives you the attack specials in ff8 also makes it so you never take damage wtf I could have been using god mode the ENTIRE TIME THIS CHANGES EVERYTHING
I guess after I get this gf I want I'll plow through the rest of the game on god mode… Although with godmode now I don't even need this gf… Ugh
24/08/2024 00:07 Made it to disc 3 Game story still feels pretty stupid. But I'm more than halfway so hopefully I can just get through it. Godmode certainly makes that way easier
30/08/2024 01:12 I am about to fight the final boss of ff8 The story never made sense, was always stupid, and I never would've made it here without a guide But it will be over soon and I can maybe start disco elysium and hate on that next
30/08/2024 01:53 I'm done With ff8
[Someone else says: bit of a mindfuck innit? ]
No I'm just disappointed in it
------------
My final thoughts: So many things went unanswered. Rinoa and Squall's sudden romantic interest in each other never made any sense. Maybe the [possession + time travel + teen mercs/renegades + amnesia] plot points were semi-original for the time, but nowadays they feel lazy and overdone.
The junction system is horrible. The card game was too confusing to me so I never played it, however that's definitely on me and I feel like if I were younger it would've been a great game (I was a huge fan of Tetra Master in FF9).
The game controls are too clunky with no hints and there were several areas where if I had not looked at a walkthrough I never would have found or did the thing the game needed me to find/do to progress. It seems like they fixed that in FF9 with the little "?" thought bubble when you're near things that should be interacted with.
The one redeeming thing about the FF8 ending was that the sorceress Ultimecia is obviously AMAB but uses female pronouns, so I guess we could say that technically FF8 was before its time in trans representation lmao.

So guys I am back yet again, after almost 3 weeks of a Horror that still doesn't seem to end. First I had a mild stomach flue and since it was (relatively) mild, I decided to go to work, since... you know I work had for the money. After taking multiple warning that I should not take the symptoms so lightly, I felt like I've finally recovered but for some reason I was still feeling weak. Just a few days after seemingly recovering from the stomach-flue, my immune system decided to kick me for what I did and for the first time in many, many years (this was a normal ocurrecence back when I was a sickly child tho) I had the flu. Like the actual 6 days of dangerously high fever - kind of flue. It took an unhealthy cocktail of pain medicine to even get the fever down a bit. On day 7 the fever was FINALLY gone and I though my body would gain back strength and the ability to eat. (I was not having hunger nor did anything taste good, so whatever I had been eating was me trying to force some energy source into my immensly weakened body) BUT I did not. I was feelings worse, even with the fever gone. So the doctor found out that the flu had weakened my immune system even further, so on top off still recovering from the flue I had bronchitis and Sinusitis. Giving him no choice but to pump a bunch a medicine inside me, including some antibiotics. And after 3 days of Antibiotics I am still not feeling very well. I still have to take painkiller against the Sinusitis, while my stomach start to revolt against all the medicine, by making me feel nauseous (AGAIN) and I am also still couching slime. So... not sure how long it takes for the Antibiotiks to kick in, but I feel like if they don't, the doctor will see me yet again on Friday, while my work place won't see me again next week - which isn't such a bad thing, since I found out just the day when I broke down with the fever, that my colleagues told my boss I am a lazy bitch who never ever does anything anyway. So.... no one is gonna miss me around there anyway.
All that aside... I had a lot of brain fog fopr the past weeks but I think I am not capable of FINALLY going back to Squall and FF8, so that I can rush to finish this game soon. So... lets go!
Can someone please tell me why I was so stupid to think it was a good idea to stop playing right at the beginning of the Galbadia-Garden-Attack? I have no idea were to go XD
I know this was basically the last chance for the Ring exchange, but neither of them know that. So... the timing is really weird. Especially since, Zell was supposed to be tired because he worked on remaking that ring for Rinoa, but what did he do all night, if he didn't even have the original ring as a reference? Its all a bit weird, if you ask me, even if I get that it was supposed to be a secret from Squall.
THIS GIRL IS GOING ON MY NERVES! She constantly gets herself in trouble and for some reason, only Squall can save her, as if he has nothing better to do as the leader of the garden then to babysit that spoiled so called princess. ARG!
Personal preferences aside... I think it speaks for Squall that he didn't let anyone else die, just because "his" Rinoa was in danger. He IS the Leader. He can not afford to play favorites in a situation like this.
This is so unreasonable, its making me angry. "Hey Squall, we might be going to die soon under your leadership, but your biggest priority should be saving Rinoa right now, because this is a lovestory!" is basically what they are saying and I can not even put into words how stupid that is!
This minigame is so freaking stupid!
XD I mean, its nice that she managed to hold on for so long because she wanted to gave him back the ring an all... but it was not nice of Zell to just give the ring to her without Squalls permission, especially after promising to not lose it or anything like this.
They are his best and only friends and sometimes as a friend, you have to do what's best for them, even if they do not agree with you. And I think it is good that Raijin and Fujin understand that. They could have just followed Seifer blindly like they did so far, but they do understand that that is not the way to save him.
For some reason my mods don't work anymore. That is really bad timing...
I did not take Rinoa with me and it makes no sense at all that the other would let her come running alone when they don't know if we might be in the middle of the fight with Edea. And I mean, we already confirmed multiple times that Rino is stupid enough to try come running to Squalls side for no apparent reason but shippiness, but the other are not stupid enough to let her.
The problem here is that the game had to handle the situation in case you do not bring her along and they couldn't come up with anything better than her just randomly finding us in this room before the fight with Edea.
I can kind of understand him. He just couldn't fight his own wife. But he still should have done this whole thing a bit differently.
In the fight against the Galbadia Garden, when Squall thought Rinoa was lost, he was merely thinking a sad "Rinoa..." and now all of a sudden she is all he can think about, even tho when he previously mentioned everyone trying to get them together he did not sound that enthusiastic or interested at all. And I do get that some people only know what they had or could have had after they lost it and Squall certainly is the type for it. But the whole buildup for this ship until now was really, really bad to begin with.
They did? When? Just a short while ago in Fishermans Horizont you just had another argument.
I forgot that I still have to deal with Lagunas part of the story...
This scene is only in here to see Laguna with a Gunblade because apparently its important to see Laguna using the same weapon his son does ^^'
It is a bit more complicated than that. But I understand why Ellone feels like its her fault.
We are traveling into the unknown with a comatose friend and a witch that could be controlled by some evil being at any given time... what exactly makes you feel like this is a picnic?

FF8 - digging deeper
Besides digging obscure mechanics, I've miraculously managed to progress with this game. This will contain spoilers.
So the main hero Squall and co. are students at Garden mercenary company and during the first hours of a bit of frantic gameplay, graduated into full members, called SeeDs and can dispatch on missions. The graduation ceremony was nothing but suspicious.
They got dispatched on their first mission and something happened during a ride in train (which I had to pay for from my pocket money T_T)
Everyone fell asleep and there's a jungle and soldiers I play as now in sort of a dream.
Like main characters, they are also huge jerks, casually causing giant traffic jams. Sequence finally uneventfully ended (thankfully, I could keep items and everything).
And I got into this beautiful town of Timber, where I should help local resistance. Later music in this area was so great.
Next, there was an overly complicated president kindapping mission, which ended in giant humiliation of the resistance group. Hasty, alternative plan was thought of during which Seifer (Squall's rival) appeared suddenly, holding president hostage.
Then it got even more strange as random sorceress took him somewhere. From the lore, it is known that there was a war on Sorceresses and they are source of magic in the world.
There wasn't much of a hook since now, as mercenaries work can get a bit uninvolved, but now I'm really wondering where this will lead up.

Been doing some more development on my FF8-inspired TTRPG setting, specifically on the rules for Manifest Aeons - for when an Esper calls out the God-Monster lurking inside of them and lets it loose as a discrete combat unit on the battlefield. And this got me thinking about how each of the Esper Regiments (closer to the character groups in a White Wolf game than to D&D classes) would differ in terms of the appearance of their Aeon.
To summarize the concepts at work here: ESPER - A person who is capable of manifesting an independent spirit entity. Sometimes an Esper keeps this spirit housed internally and draws on it as a power source, and sometimes they unleash it as a physical presence to hide behind it as a shield. An Esper is almost always an adolescent or very young adult (the capability fades with adulthood unless extraordinary measures are taken, which often comes with severe consequences or limitations) and are trained in elite military academies to use this gift safely and responsibly, and also to fight effectively even without the use of their supernatural gifts.
REGIMENT - A "class" of Esper that's been identified as having recurring themes. Initiate Espers will be tested and divided into the Regiment most suiting their aptitudes and temperament for additional training. It's rare but not impossible to change Regiments, but to a certain degree one's initial Regiment selection leaves a spiritual mark that's difficult to rewrite. There are eight Regiments, and a ninth catch-all pseudo-Regiment for anyone who doesn't fit into the first eight.
AEON - A manufactured spirit created by an Aeon, either as a deliberate guided act when their aptitude has been identified and trained, or rarely as an instinctive act earlier in life. An Aeon can either dwell within their Esper and enhance them or can manifest a physical form near their Esper where they often act as bodyguards or otherwise as combat partners. Under rare circumstances an Aeon can outlive its Esper, becoming bound to some other anchor. Each of the academies that trains Espers has at least one Institutional Aeon in residence to offer protection to the facility, and each of the Esper Regiments is blessed by a Regimental Aeon that was left behind by an Esper long ago who functionally codified that Regiment.
NEST - The academies where Espers learn to wield their Aeons within the parameters of a Regiment. There are eight NESTs in the lands that ring the Sea of Strife, two of which are in territory that's been claimed by the (Name Pending) Empire. That makes everyone a little nervous, even though there's currently peace with the Empire, because the practice of training Espers to use Aeons in battle began in answer to the last great war, when the Empire tried to sweep across the continent. The fact that the Empire might have access to its own Espers in a future conflict is a cause for serious concern.
SPIRITS - There are a lot of entities in this world that don't have physical bodies unless they choose to. Ghosts. Demons. Elementals. Other, weirder stuff. Aeons are unusual in that they're spirits deliberately cultivated by a mortal, rather than arising from some natural phenomenon or lingering from some unclear ancient source. One of the main reasons the development of Espers became a priority was that the Empire had certain magic-amplifying technologies that could only be reliably opposed by spirit magic.
Now on to the actual Regiment Aeon descriptions
STALWARTS really emphasize the "Guardian Force" inspiration, and their Aeons tend to be more visibly sturdy, often armored or even fully composed of something dense and hard to damage, or else capable of manifesting shields out of whatever energy and element is thematically appropriate for the controlling Esper. Many Stalwart Aeons are created in the (heavily mythologized) image of historical military commanders, or draw on the mascots of military units or the heraldic symbols of some government or faction that the Esper feels loyalty towards.
CHAMPIONS often have Aeons that are just plain larger than those of their peers, more muscular and imposing, capable of dominating a battlefield through sheer physical presence. Their elemental manifestations are often crude and inspired by nature - a Champion's Aeon that evokes Fire might have what appears to be a miniature volcano growing from its hunched shoulders, but probably wouldn't have a lot of glyphs or sigils denoting complex elemental refinement.
ERRANTS sometimes evoke Aeons that their cultural folklore would consider naturally antagonistic. Having a "tamed" demon or dragon is a fairly straightforward proclamation of the Errant's prowess, and a reminder of their often tempestuous emotions. Errants are also the Regiment most likely to personally ride their Aeon into battle, and their Aeons often manifest with a saddle and other appropriate gear equipped.
MAVERICKS are impossible to pin down too firmly, but at the very least their Aeons are more likely to have deceptive appearances. Aeons that seem silly, unthreatening, or that physically change configuration between battle modes. Aeons with the appearance of machinery also appear for Mavericks more often than for other Regiments.
PHANTOMS are obviously inclined towards the macabre and the forbidden, and their Aeons are often unsettling, creatures of sculpted nightmare. Phantoms are the most likely Regiment to have Aeons that appear to be ghosts of a specific deceased individual, leading to the widespread belief that Espers can bind existing spirits in their service, rather than generating their Aeons anew.
PRODIGIES often create Aeons drawn from literary or historical inspirations - if it looks like it came out of a book, there's a better chance it's a Prodigy's Aeon. Their Aeons are often physically more sophisticated, incorporating arcane geometry and elaborate aether-channeling embellishments directly into their structures to make them better vessels for occult force.
ADEPTS seem divided between two extremes, those whose Aeon is extremely stylized in the fashion of the Adept's personal favorite artistic medium, and those who are hyper-realistic representations of some real world thing, difficult to identify as spirits until they channel magical power. Often, their Aeons will shift between those two configurations, acting as some form of mundane beast while incognito, then becoming something like a living painting or a construct of musical notation when it's time for battle.
EMISSARIES make Aeons that are well-adapted for teamwork, although what this means varies from one Emissary to another. Some, like the Aeons of Errants, are adapted as mounts. Some are developed to directly compliment or mimic the Emissary's fighting style. The most reliable trait about an Emissary's Aeon is that they'll often have a calming presence that makes people feel safe around them... so long as the Emissary is favorably disposed towards them, anyway.
TRUANTS are obviously tricky to define, but a common feature of their Aeons is a sort of unfinished quality, an amorphous simplicity or the appearance of having been cobbled together out leftover unrelated pieces. Truants are also the most likely Espers to have their Aeons massively reconfigure themselves as their power develops.

I am fully aware of the rumors that Square Enix is looking to remake FF9, though haven't seen any sources to confirm this yet. FF9 getting remade would be pretty fuckin sweet, and it's one of my favorite games. BUT, if I'm being completely honest here, I feel like the next remake should go to FF8.
The reason why is because it would greatly benefit from having plot points explained more efficiently, we get better explanations on the GF system and how it gives the SeeD soldiers amnesia, and have a clearer understanding of who Ultimecia is and why she's compressing all of time. (I mean, in Dissidia she explains it, but for some reason her motivations weren't ever brought up in the original game, so it's never clear why she is doing this.)
Squall and friends completely forgetting that they grew up together, yet remembering they all grew up in the orphanage as kids can be done much better. It was a neat twist that fell flat on its face when it contradicted itself.
Like when (i cant fucking remember which character brought it up, since i havn't played the game in well over a decade, i think it was selphie or irvine??? one of them) one of the characters goes, to paraphrase, "hey guys, remember when we grew up here?"
and they're like, "oh yeah, now that you mention it..."
I think this part can be better executed if Square decides to remake the game. The amnesia can still be a byproduct of the GFs, but maybe include build-up to the big reveal that they all knew each other at some point in their lives, and didn't meet for the first time as SeeDs. Squall suspects it and further questions it, as do the rest. Eventually they come to the conclusion that they've forgotten more than they realized, and this can lead to some interesting character interactions!
As much as I loved FF9, i can hold out on it a while longer. I just really want to see what they can do by giving 8's plot a tighter execution. FF8's storytelling has great potential and deserves a remake so much more. I will die on this hill.

[The Warrior and Fray are speaking together in the midst of a massive battle.]
Fray: You want to wreak some havoc too, don't you?
WoL: It's a good opportunity to test out my training.
WoL: Thanks to you, I feel like I can take on anyone. Even if they do fight dirty, like you.
Fray, turning away: ... You'll thank me when the time comes.

being an irl of a character is hilarious im playing twst again after like,, a year and JUMPED when someone offhandedly mentioned cater by name. like,, that's me.
#cuz i never use my name( s ) in these kinds of games i always use irvy ( thanks ff8 )#it was like they read my system data or the name attached to my google account just to scare me#but then i remembered this is the source of my main name and felt like an idiot#its different than the other two for. some reason.#ig ven is bc its his nickname?? and not his real name??? but most people call him ven not ventus#you could technically say the same for fret but LITERALLY no one calls him by his real name#idk ig cater diamond really did just fuse with my soul or smth

Oh gawd. I’m just thinking about my glitchy databent “mash-ups“... like these 2 travesties (loudness & abrasive noise warnings on these)?
“What Have I Done” AKA “One -Winged Traingel“ - Thomas the Tank Engine theme VS Jenova’s theme (Final Fantasy 7); MIDIFLIP’d that one too. :,D
“Welcome to Hell“ - Final Destination theme (the horror franchise) VS “Be Our Guest“ (from Beauty & the Beast)
I want to mash-up “Forbidden Fruit“... with SOMETHING now.
... I wonder if I should mash it up with shit like Infected Mushroom to get even a taste of how that could sound against some psytrance.... although it’s honestly going to be that plus a lot of nails on chalkboard levels of noise walls.
OR I could mix it with Roman’s theme (opening of The Blue Danube.) :,D
In either case, it would be up the trash man’s alley, lbr.
I’m a visual artist and writer... not a music producer. I played a cello (and a tiny bit of recorder) as a kid, but that’s about it. Man.
#sanders sides#remus sanders#(the more i think abt this the more i wanna do this)#(might try a few new ideas if i stretched out FF into IM music)#(basically the process would be like this-)#(convert source audio files to RAWs)#(force photoshop to interp the raw data as PIXELS / an image file)#(overlay and chop up the resulting visual nooise patterns)#(save that as a RAW)#(import the raw data into audacity and see the hell i just wrought)#(tweak things as needed to make it just the right amt of awful)#(and voila - you have a monster - congratulations)#(the massive downside in this process is the fact you won't really know how it's gonna sound until you got a DAW to read it back as audio)#(high key experimental shit for me)#(someone should probably stop me before i kill my ears again)#(... blue danube reminds me now of the balamb garden dance scene in ff8 now)
