Night Market Official Update

With the impending release, I got a few little announcements to make.

First, both Itch.io and Steam will release on the same day. There is no difference between either of those game uploads so just buy what it is you prefer. If you wish to add the Night Market to your Steam wishlist, the link is here. If you were one of my Kickstarter peeps, your Steam key will be sent to you directly. If you would prefer an Itch.io key, please send me a message through the Kickstarter portal.

That being said, the WIP version of the Night Market will be taken down to a few chapters by August 1st. This will no longer be a free game and the new content will be for purchase only. This includes about 170k new words and all the NSFW scenes that were previously behind a pay wall.

Official release date for everything will be announced soon. Kickstarter will be receiving the game earlier.

I am very excited to give you guys the final product and get started on Book 2. It's been an amazing year with you all.

okay so APPARENTLY ACCORDING TO THE THE ARCANE RULES OF YE OLDE STEAM it only counts reviews from folks who bought the game with money directly on Steam (so nobody from Legacy keys, the Games for Gaza bundles, Act 1 key ports, or Indiepocalypse) which. puts me. IN A VERY TRICKY POSITION. because Steam hides games with less than 10 user reviews. (because I gave away keys to all of Slasher U's fans already and none of your reviews count in the system 😭😭)

Lachesis or Atropos Steam Release Announced! (ft. Quill Yuri)

Lachesis or Atropos (transliterating "∨" to "or") is going to be released on Steam with the help of @quill-studios's new yuri branch—@quill-yuri!

For those who are unfamiliar with LoA, it’s the horror-mystery yuri visual novel that we initially released for Spooktober 2022. The game made it to the shortlist in judging, but we’ll be polishing it up even further!

A private investigator visits a small town after recovering from a coma. She searches for her mentor's lost beloved, but the very eyes she was born with, those that can see the black strings of hate, drag her down into the darkness of conspiracy.

A cult, two priestesses, and the threads that puppet the world.

Q. What will the Steam release entail?

A. New art, touch ups to the script, additional songs to the soundtrack, and more…! (Just like last time)

These updates will also be pushed to itch, so don't worry about missing out if you prefer not to use Steam.

I think one of the funniest things I've seen this week is Overwatch 2's rating on steam. Like it started at mixed and then it just tanked.

Kinda sad I didn't catch it at 69k, but with how fast it's being rated maybe I'll catch it when it comes back around.

That is my plan 😊 if it goes well, I'll likely also release the full game on Google Play and itch.io as well.

Of course, it's still a long way until I finish the game and edit it, so I'll post any details on its release sooner to the time.

Bonnie's Bakery Steam Release Date!

Hello hello everyone! 

It is I, SoupDev, here to bring you an update! The Steam release of Bonnie's Bakery will be dropping July 14th, 2023! How very exciting! You can click this link here to wishlist the game right now and purchase it on the 14th!

For anyone who's already bought a copy of the Fresh Ingredients expansion before the Steam release was announced, worry not! You will be able to redeem a Steam Key! And you can click here for a link to a helpful forum page that'll show you how to redeem your key!

Now, with the release of Bonnie's Bakery on Steam, we've made a few more quality of life changes and bug fixes! Here's a list of just some of the changes you can expect:

The game no longer crashes if you do nothing during daytime.

The prep station interactables are now much clearer, and mousing over any interactables during the day should highlight them.

One more ending

Speed and Stealth focuses have been added to the hunt section of the game. Speed focused gameplay is more in line with the original hunt, with more NPCs, more sensitive AI, and a stronger emphasis on being quick and aggressive. Stealth focused gameplay has less NPCs and less sensitive AI, which should make being stealthy a lot easier. Being spotted will make the police timer go down quicker with the Stealth focus enabled.

A few of the NPCs dialogues have been tweaked.

Some ending dialogues have been tweaked.

You can now use ESC to bring up notes and the pause menu.

These quality of life updates will all be available for the itch.io versions of the game as well! So if you're not looking to get the Steam release of the game, no worries! 

After the Steam release, we plan to take a break from development for a bit. One year of crunching does catch up to you eventually! This past year has been crazy for all of us developers, and we truly feel grateful for everyone who has supported us thus far! This is just the beginning though, so please look forward to our future projects as well!
