Get To Know You game
Got tagged by @ah0yh0y THANKS BUDDY!!!! Here's the link to her original post
Questions: last song you listened to, currently watching, currently reading, current obsession
Last song: I'm listening to What Else Can I Do? from Encanto sung by Diane Guerrero and Stephanie Beatriz on repeat. I just love Encanto's songs. The part when Mirabel sings to Isabel about her being perfect her whole life - and her voice changes from doleful to joy and happiness for her sister? MMMMHMMMM 👌TEARS ME UP.
Currently watching: Not... anything really. I haven't been reading novels or watching TV shows or movies lately. Gosh, school is so consuming, especially with the extracurriculars I've taken up.
But I remember watching Danny Phantom last. I got DVDs from the library and was watching it in our old laptop which had a DVD player. They dont make laptops like those anymore. And we dont have a DVD player for the TV. And that laptop broke. So idk where else to watch Danny Phantom :(
Currently reading: As i said, not really reading many novels atm. I'm reading fanfic! The last fanfic I read was mine XD More specifically Let Them Be Siblings. I wanted to check out how far along the series I was and then got sucked.
But the other last fanfic i read was... I'm Just a Kid (I Know That It's Not Fair) by StoriesAreMagic cuz they updated <3
The last novel I read? ...I can't recall. It was that long ago- NO WAIT! I picked up some novels from the library for my sisters and I sometimes read my sister's books. There's this one series I especially like. It's called 'Phoebe and her Unicorn', and it is good, I tell you. Very good. The jokes aren't like kid jokes. They speak something deeper.
Current obsession: So many. Idk. Tim Drake? DC?

stephanie beatriz x fem!oc - nervous
Tumblr media
Hey, I love all your writing and I would like to request a Stephanie Beatriz x Fem! OC. The oc is friendly, always happy, always smiling yet sort of quiet, shy and reserved hairstylist on the Brooklyn 99 set. She's loved by everyone in the cast. The night before she and Steph went on a date after 4 years of secretly liking each other. OC refers back to her shy, quiet self the next day when Stephanie walked into the hair trailer. Thank you ❤️ - request from anon <3
Estrella was definitely nervous. It had gone so well last night... She got home at 6 this morning only to leave again for work an hour or so later. She was tired and nervous. Nervous about seeing Stephanie. "I've ever watched it" She admitted as she shook her head, meeting
Melissa's eyes through the mirror.
"You've never seen Home Alone?" Mel questioned, her eyes widening as Estrella adjusted her final piece of hair.
"You sound like my sister did. She tried to make me watch it every Christmas but I like The Polar Express, Muppets Christmas Carol and Elf. I watch them on repeat and I will forever watch them on repeat" She smiled, stepping back so Melissa could get up.
"Good Morning, Star" Stephaine greeted happily. Estrella felt herself blush as the taller woman moved to sit down where Melissa was seconds ago. "Morning" She greeted back quietly making Steph raise an eyebrow.
"Star... Star...Estrella. It's 5:30"
"I fell asleep" Estrella mumbled to herself shyly as she sat up tiredly from Steph's arms, in Steph's bed. She would admit that she was happy there... because she really was but she felt her cheeks go red. She fell silent as she scanned the floor for her clothes and her boots with a little sigh.
They had only come back to Stephanie's for drinks instead of going to a bar because she knew Estrella hated loud, overcrowded public places filled with people she didn't know. The restaurant they went to was quiet and small. Steph had spent all day trying to find somewhere she knew Star would like. "You okay?" Stephanie asked slightly concerned with the sigh Star had let out.
"Yeah. I'm fine" She responded as she picked up her dress, slipping it over her head. Estrella turned to get up but stopped herself and turned around with a small smile. "Thank you for last night. I should--" Steph smiled, cutting her off by leaning forward and kissing her softly.
"She's never seen Home Alone" Melissa mentioned to her close friend as she passed on the way out. "Thank you, Estrella!" She called after her as she closed the door to the trailer. They were alone. Not that it was a bad thing because it wasn't... but Estrella didn't know what to say. She had gone shy again. She felt exactly how she did when she did Stephanie's hair for the pilot. The first time they met.
"You haven't seen Home Alone?" Steph chuckled, looking up through the mirror at the slightly smaller woman with a smile. All she got was a simple shake of her head making her smile falter a little. It was silent between them. The only sound in the trailer was the radio which was usually talk radio because that's what Estrella loved. Her sister used to be a presenter so she always listens to the old ones with her voice on repeat. It calmed her... It was also fun watching some of the guys listen to it in confusion and have them, but especially Andy, ask what they were saying seen as the entire thing was in Spanish.
It wasn't an awkward silence, but it wasn't exactly comfortable. It was slightly awkward for Stephanie. She sat in it for 20 minutes as she scrolled through Instagram. Star could never detect when silence was awkward despite usually being the one who caused it in the first place. She didn't feel the slight awkwardness that Steph did. She just started on her hair, listening to her sister's voice to calm her nerves. This was the only thing that worked, you know, hearing her late sister's voice. Although, she did discover last night that holding Stephanie's hand also helped. Walking towards the restaurant, she was nervous about it being somewhere she hadn't been before but she took her hand and it shifted. Star smiled faintly at the memory.
"What you smiling at?" The actress wondered aloud, catching Estrella's eyes through the mirror. She caught the hairstylist's smile grow ever so slightly making her's do the same. "What?"
"Nothing. It's stupid. It doesn't matter" She muttered shyly, a few seconds later as she ran her fingers through Steph's hair making it look as good as possible. "Done" Star heard a mumbled 'thank you' as Stephanie got up from the chair and turned to face her. "Have I done something?" Estrella's face fell.
"No. No, you haven't. Star, you haven't done anything" Steph reassured, reaching out and taking Star's hand and unknowingly calming the nerves that had started to rise. "I just have a question. Why have you gone shy again?" She asked, stopping with Star before the door.
Estrella sighed. She was a shy and quiet person that was fairly innocent and oblivious to a lot of things. She got nervous. She could be, well, a lot... that's what she was always told anyway. By friends, her parents, family. Most people who knew her thought so. "It's been like 7 years since I've been on a date or gone home with someone. I'm 33 and I haven't dated since I was 25" The smaller woman revealed softly. "I stopped because I used to get shy and quiet again when I saw them next. I get overly nervous. I thought it would be a lot worse now I don't have Elise. She always made me calm"
Stephanie smiled softly at her as she gently squeezed her hand for comfort. Star finally looked up and let out a sigh she didn't know she was holding in. "My last girlfriend, Emmie, I had when I was in college and she couldn't put up with me... because she got to know me and got past the shy, reserved me and knew what I'm really like" Estrella playing with her necklace... her sister's necklace. "She didn't like that I was oblivious to a lot of things and couldn't really understand how other people felt. She hated how I fixated so much of my time on things I love and have loved for so long instead of trying new things. She thought I was 'a lot' whatever that means"
"Estrella--"
"I went shy again because I was nervous. Nervous about what you were going to say to me or what I would say. I might have been nervous about the same thing happening again... I don't know. I don't want you to get to know me properly if I'm only going to end up alone again. This time I would be alone because Elle died" When Stephanie smiled and giggled a little, confusion washed over Estrella's face. "What?"
"I like you, Star. You like me, I know that. You told me that... even if you whispered it and thought I didn't hear."
"You heard that?" Heat rushed to Star's cheeks in slight embarrassment as she was gently pulled closer to the actress.
"I heard it and I like you too. I like you a lot, okay? I want to get to know you properly because I liked the woman I went out with last night. She was sweet and happy and funny and innocent but in a cute way. As much as I like you now, I want to get to know more of the woman that talked about Disney in my bed for hours until we fell asleep."
"You weren't bothered that I know endless facts about almost every movie and every character?" She wondered, lightly smiling.
"Not at all. I love Disney" Stephanie shook her head, her smile as wide as it could be without looking unnatural. "Your face lights up when you talk about it. I love that"
"Really? Even Elise got annoyed with it"
"I don't," Steph said as she slowly inched closer to Estrella's face. "You're not going to be alone. I won't let it happen" She was speaking close to a whisper, making a shiver run down Star's spine as butterflies appeared in her stomach. "Can I know why you were smiling now? I'm sure it wasn't stupid"
"Usually the only thing that makes me calm and at ease is my sister's voice but last night when we were walking to the restaurant, I started to feel nervous about the new setting. You didn't know that, obviously, but you held my hand and I didn't feel as nervous anymore. It happened again in the middle of the night. I think it was 2 am or something and I woke up nervous about not being at home but you moved in your sleep and your arms tightened around me a little and I wasn't nervous anymore. I was thinking about that"
"Besides seeing me again after last night, I don't make you feel nervous?"
"No. No one here does anymore but especially you" Estrella shyly admitted, looking down a little. She was knocked a step back when Stephanie quickly leaned in and kissed her. It took a second before she smiled a kissed back.
Steph smiled as she pulled away, turning to leave. Before she could, Star spoke up again. "Thank you for last night. It was sweet what you did for me... with the restaurant and not taking me to a bar. The alternative was so much better. I had a lot of fun"
"We should do it again."
"I can be free tonight"

101 Dalmatians / Rosa Diaz Imagine
Tumblr media
Request: I can't get this out of my head. I was wondering if you could write this B99 meets 101 Dalmatians imagine? Like, Rosa and the reader are walking their dogs, but they get tangled around the leashes and end up falling? So they go to the reader's apartment or sit on a bench to dry out and find out that they like each other?
This is so cute I literally can’t get it out of my head @trench-coat-wearing-angel!! I haven’t seen 101 Dalmations in a long time so I hope this is okay <3
Please comment if you can, it really does keep me writing!
Although she hated to admit it, the park by the precinct was beautiful.
She hated the ones in smaller towns. The miniature, empty, formal gardens that were created only for the elderly and retired - although she would never admit it, she found them too quiet, too creepy. She had grown used to the noise, the hustle and bustle of Brooklyn, the acres of concrete interspersed with neat grass verges. She had grown familiar with the vendors and their hotdogs and burgers, vendors with curry and rice, vendors with tacos and sour cream. There's always music, sometimes clashing from various sources, none of them official.
It always felt as if anything could happen. She would never admit it, but she loved that thrill of adventure.
Entering the park, a slight breeze rustles the leaves, making them fall to the  ground by your feet one by one.The air was warm, the beams of sunlight glowing on your skin as you breathed it in, being justled towards the grass by the puppy tugging on its maroon leash. Flowers are vast, and they conceal the freshly cut green grass, the one your dog is now rolling its face in, forehead speckled emerald as it jumps up panting. You smile to yourself as you pass playing children and the parents talking among each other, making your way down the walkway.
Neither of you can see Rosa yet. She lifts up her glasses, winding the blue leash further around her fingers as she watches Arlo bounce his little puppy paws along the loose pebbles, spitting them out against her combat boots.
A sudden tug on your arm draws you out of your daydream, laughing at your dog as he pulls you away from the little marshmallow clouds you rarely see during this time of the year in New York. Your eyes follow your dog’s path, gaze set as he stops with his tail straight up, and saw, coming down towards the two of you, another dog. It was one of the quietest and peacefullest dogs you had ever seen: it seemed so content, floating dreamily along the ground. On he came, serene, dignified, and calm, and with him came the most beautiful women you had ever seen.
You tried not to stare as she approached, but she hadn’t spotted you yet, and you were trying to figure out from afar if her eyes looked brown, but as she nears you notice the colored specks of honey. They're bright and liquid warm, sprinkled with light brown specks, framed by beautiful thick lashes.
You try not to gasp, to make your eyes squeeze down to their normal size again, but all that happens is that you lose control. Your doggo runs off, zigzagging towards Rosa and dragging you with them, until he’s done a complete loop of her legs and you have butted head first into her forehead. The two of you let go of your leads in shock, Rosa grunting slightly in confusion as the doggos lie on their backs next to each other, gently headbutting each other with their button noses, not paying a jot of attention towards the pond.
The pond that shimmers with emerald moving across the deep green surface as if light itself could be blown across it by the wind. The opaque waters were icy even in the shallows.
And it was into this that both you and Rosa fell, arms entangled in each other with a tight grip, your head butting into the dip of her chest as the water flows over your head.
~
The bench was an old brass colour that reminded Rosa of a murder weapon. Strange, she knew, but there was something menacing about the twirling swirls of metal that wound like spikes around the top as she let her fingers fall to the surface, feeling the heat of the day that had soaked into the metal. The bench was typical of the parks, the rosy cedar browns married to the iron that curved into the great arms and grew into ever-blooming flowers to rest on.
The bench had been exposed to the elements for many seasons, but still she ran them over the swirls in the wood grain as she talked hesitantly to you.
She sat, not without patience, but feeling as if her legs had been glued to the seat, Arlo napping with loud snores by her feet, just allowing the rays to dry her damp clothes.
Plus, she was surprised to find that she was actually enjoying another person’s company, considering the circumstances.
‘I really am so sorry, again’, you murmur, a shy blush littering your cheeks as your feet squelch in your sneakers.
‘It’s fine, Y/n, totally. Most exciting thing that’s happened to me all day.’
‘You need a new job then’, you laugh slightly, trying to look Rosa in the eyes as she raises an eyebrow at you.
‘I’m a detective at the 99, which can be pretty cool. Sometimes. We get a lot less wet.’
‘Oh, I work at the 89! In the I.T. department, isn’t that so strange. I guess we have good taste.’
Your fingers reach out, gently bumping against her shoulder as you giggle - nothing more than a fleeting touch, an instinct of nerves that lasts no more than a few seconds, but Rosa’s skin begins tingling where you touched her and her heart beat erratically in my chest so hard that I thought it might fly out. There were butterflies, no, lions in her chest, but it felt nice, for once.
She finally admitted to herself what she had known when you first fell into her arms, but was too afraid to admit it: she liked you. Too much for comfort.
She blurts it out.
‘I want to see you again!’
‘...I would like that, Rosa. Perhaps somewhere a little less damp, this time.’

A frantic knocking brings Jake and Amy’s attention away from their book or phone, the two of them locking eyes across the table.
“Were you expecting anyone?”
Jake shakes his head, following Amy as she jumps to her feet and heads to the door. Upon opening it, her heart breaks at the sight of you on the other side, holding a bouquet of flowers that caught a few of the tears spilling down your cheeks.
“What’s going on?”
“I’m sorry for popping up so suddenly,” you spoke hoarsely, attempting and failing to clear your face with one sleeve. “It’s our first wedding anniversary and I was going to visit her grave but before I knew it I was here. I don’t want to speak to her that way and I don’t want to see her that way again and I don’t want to—”
You fell into Amy’s waiting arms as you broke, repeating “I don’t want to” until it turned into mumbled sounds mixed in with your sobbing. Jake quickly came around to close the door, putting the flowers you dropped off to the side before sandwiching you into a hug from the other side.
After you’d finally calmed down enough to breathe the three of you moved over to the couch, sitting in silence until you were ready to share what was on your mind. You held the bouquet in your arms once more, cradling it to your chest with one arm while you organized your thoughts.
“I didn’t even get to call her my wife for a year before she was gone.”
Amy shifted her teary gaze to you, placing a hand on your free one with a gentle touch. Jake sat on the other side of you, listening while trying to get a hold of his own emotions.
“We’ll never get to celebrate one year, five, ten, fifty. I wanted all of that time with her and it was stolen from me so easily.”
“Why don’t you write her a letter?” Jake suggested quietly. “When my grandma passed, Gina and I wrote letters to thank her for everything she did for us, and basically say anything we didn’t get to say before she went. I actually, um...I actually wrote one to Rosa the other day.”
Your eyes watered as you turned to him, a tear dropping as you addressed him. “I’m sorry.”
“For what?” he asked, brows pressed together in confusion.
“I’ve been so lost in my own grieving that I forgot you lost someone too.” You turned to Amy. “Both of you have.”
“Y/N,” Jake placed his hand on your shoulder, offering you a sad smile. “Yes we all lost her, but she meant something different to each of us. We can’t always relate to each other’s pain with this because it’s different for all of us, and it’s not selfish to take the time to focus on working through what you feel.”
You returned his sad smile with a little more hope behind yours, placing the flowers on the table in front of you and grabbing both of their hands.
“I love you guys. Thanks for always being there for me.”
Amy chuckled a bit, squeezing your hand between both of hers. “It’s one of my favorite things to do.”
-
You’d barely been home from Jake and Amy’s apartment five minutes before there was a knock on your door. You opened it and a grin appeared on your face at the sight of Terry and the twins.
“Hi, Auntie Y/N!”
“Hi, sweet angels!” you greeted them as you pulled them into a group hug. “Hey, Sarge. Everything okay?”
“Yeah, I just picked the girls up from a playdate and I needed to bring you this.” He handed you a plastic bag that you instantly recognized.
“Is this the—”
“Yeah.” He sighed heavily. “I was going through the case file and realized this was still in evidence. I was able to sign it out because it had no relation to anything, and based on what today is, you may need it.”
“Daddy let us put something in there for you, too!”
“Yeah! It’s an invitation to dinner tomorrow and your favorite cookies,” Cagney added, her eyes suddenly widening. “Sorry, that was supposed to be a surprise.”
“It’s okay, Cagney,” Terry assured her with a pat on the shoulder before turning back to you. “Are you going to be okay? We would love to have you tonight, too.”
“I’ll be fine, and I’ll be there tomorrow. Thanks for the gift, angels,” you addressed the twins as you hugged them one last time.
You took your time opening the bag once you were alone, setting the card and cookies to the side and using your shaking hands to sift through the rest of the items. Underneath things like toothpaste and deodorant sat a little booklet titled “First Year of Many”.
You took a deep breath and opened it to a page with a handwritten note, handwriting you knew to be Rosa’s. Blinking back a few tears, you stroked your finger along the page carefully before finally reading her last words to you.
“Y/N Diaz, I love you. I was going to stop there, but I know you love it when I get mushy or whatever. So I’ll add that this has been the best (almost) year of my life. Being your wife and having you as mine is the greatest thing that has ever happened to me, especially after the horrors of coming out to my parents and being framed. You’re my favorite person in the world, and I can’t wait to celebrate our wedding day every year for the rest of our lives.”
By the end of the note you were sobbing again, and you had to take a few moments to breathe before you could move onto the pictures. Each one was from different days in the past year starting with your wedding day, and you admire her beauty through nonstop tears. Some were taken on special events like birthdays, with or without friends, and others were simply selfies from lazy days where you fell asleep before she did.
You closed the book and took the bag in your bedroom, setting the book on your bedside table to look at again later and placing the other items in the bathroom. You grabbed your phone and sat on the couch, dialing Rosa’s number and trying not to cry again when you heard her voice for the first time in months.
“Rosa Diaz’s phone. Leave a message or don’t.”
“Hey, baby. Um, happy anniversary. I really liked your present, by the way. Nowhere near as good as what I was going to get you.” You laughed a bit, sounding somewhat pathetic mixed in with sniffles.
“I miss you so fucking much. I miss your voice, your snorting laugh, riding on the back of your motorcycle, and cuddling morning, afternoon and night. I’ve never known pain like this before and I never want to again.”
A couple seconds of silence passed before you started again.
“I hope you’re safe and happy wherever you are. I hope you have unlimited axes to throw, and the Nancy Meyers movies are easily accessible. Most importantly, I hope you don’t miss me as much as I miss you because this really fucking hurts. Arlo and I feel like an incomplete puzzle without you. Anyway, I love you and—”
The automated voice cuts you off and you hang up instantly, not needing another reminder that you’ve run out of time to talk to Rosa. Part of you felt lighter after spilling your thoughts out to her, even if she couldn’t hear them. You smiled as Arlo padded sleepily into the room and climbed onto the couch to lie next to you, resting his head on your thigh. You thought back to Rosa’s vows, realizing that her wish of building a home with you had been granted.
You just wish she’d gotten the chance to live in it a little longer.
