RE danganronpa not having the best writing I was talking to a friend the other day about v3 about how it sucks that they set up Kaede to be the protagonist but then killed her off because while yes, Shuichi is a very good protagonist and he’s the only one that really gets interesting character development, Kaede could have so easily been an insanely interesting protagonist if she got to live because she has plenty of room to grow since she’s very clearly scared shitless and is deeply insecure about her ability to motivate and lead the group, but she smiles through it and lies about her feelings so much that the player doesn’t even know about her creating an elaborate murder scheme. And I realized that the way to keep her as a protagonist is for there to be a way that the first trial ends and someone else is found to be the killer (for example it could be Tsumugi if she weren’t the mastermind, or maybe someone else was in the library and killed Rantaro) and they get executed and thats that. Then at the end of the chapter we get a scene where Kaede is alone in her room and sighs in relief as it’s revealed that she hatched an elaborate plan to kill the mastermind but she wasn’t found guilty, either because she wasn’t the actual killer or because she was being protected by the mastermind. And so we the player have to proceed with the new knowledge that Kaede not only wanted to kill someone, she actually went through with a whole plan to kill someone and we didn’t even know about it and neither did any of the characters. And Kaede is on edge because on one hand she has to live with the fact that she was perfectly okay becoming a killer and that she failed to kill the mastermind so the game is going to continue and someone else was unlucky and got executed instead of her,but on the other hand she’s relieved that she wasn’t the one who died and that she was given another chance to find the true mastermind and no one has to know what she did. And as the game progresses it gets more and more stressful for her because she tries to keep up the positive energy but she’s living with this massive secret and she can’t let anyone find out about what she did and she finds herself still wanting to kill the mastermind so we the player don’t know how much we can trust Kaede anymore since she’s lying to everyone including us and she can very well kill again if she wants to

quick update: got killer7 working with a an actual controller and everything works nicely. The only problem is that sometimes the game's screen tries to stretch itself to fit the full screen of my desktop, although it's not that big of a deal/problem for me. It's annoying but not like. detrimental yet.

Anyways, I've died a total of 5 or so times and 4 of those occasions is due to me still not having the full grasp on the 'on rails' mechanic of the game. <- really it's just trying to put distance between yourself and the heaven smile which... walk surprisingly fast.

Any other gripes I have are mostly actual game design stuff although I get what they were trying to do at the time, especially since this was on the same system as the original RE4 (even coming out a year after RE4). That said, I think the game could have benefited with a slightly easier difficulty but that's just my opinion.

i imagine most of them would try to just, recover and cope with normalcy and a weirdly parasocial microcelebrity status. they would remain relatively close for a time (with some exceptions) as friends, but by the time kiyo would be rooming with shuichi, it would be a very loose thing with specific people remaining closer to specific people and meeting up from time to time. kind of a post high school graduation classmates setup, except with less trauma. it is important to note however, that by the time kiyo is even released from care, a good chunk of time has passed and the cast have already grown apart as a group.

The only relationship I've watched in anime that has absolutely convinced me that big age gaps can work out romantically is the one between Barnaby Brooks Jr and Kotetsu T Kaburagi in Tiger and Bunny.

12 years age gap. Barnaby is 23 and Kotetsu is 35. They're literally the newest rookie and the oldest veteran in the hero scene. And you can say "they are not canon" as if the creators hadn't gone out of their way to state that they pretty much don't care how you interpret it, a romantic reading of their relationship is as valid as anything else.

Their respect for each other? Their partnership? They're both treated as grown ass men on the same level.

Somehow Kotetsu can call Barnaby a "cute little bunny" and still he never reduces Barnaby to a naive child who doesn't know a thing about life. Kotetsu treats Barnaby like a man, a professional. He never infantilizes Barnaby for his trauma or his past. He helped Bunny as much as he can, goes beyond his limits to help him reaffirm himself and recover his independence. Kotetsu wants Barnaby to be respected, to not feel powerless, helpless, he wants his partner to stop being manipulated. Bunny's whole arc is that he wants to stop having decisions made for him!!!! Kotetsu knows it!!

On the other hand, Barnaby jokes all the time that Kotetsu is old, calls him grampa, that he should retire, the complete dance. Yet, Barnaby has never seen Kotetsu as a father figure. Kotetsu is Bunny's hero partner, not his superior. Thanks to Kotetsu's respectful treatment, they're friends. Hell, Bunny treats Kotetsu like a man. He doesn't pity Kotetsu for having lost his wife. He doesn't treat Kotetsu any differently when he meets Kaede, Kotetsu's daughter. There are moments when you forget the age gap because the story focuses on them being equals!!! They can take care of each other, they can share their burdens, they talk it out if they are frustrated, they communicate with full responsibility, etc etc etc.

Normally I don't like big age gaps at all. It's more of a personal preference, since those dynamics make me uncomfortable.

Kotetsu and Barnaby are the exception and the standard. God bless the Tiger and Bunny creators.

* also it has some of the best treatments of a teen girl having a crush on an older man I've ever seen. It's nothing predatory 'cause Kotetsu completely respects Karina and never takes advantage of her, also completely healthy because Karina uses that to sort out her teenage conflicts and figure out how she wants to be treated, how she deserves to be treated, what he's looking for in a relationship, how older people should approach her, etc.

Kotetsu is a gentleman through and through. An absolute must watch if you want to learn how to write those types of characters and relationships.

I couldn't help but let out a "YES! Thank you!" exclamation when Arin brought this point up about Kaede and Shuichi. They are gay besties, your honor 🏳️‍🌈

EDIT: Yes, I realize that they are both "canonically" bisexual, but compulsive heterosexuality is a thing, and Danganronpa has a lot of that. Shuichi's "I shouldn't think that about a boy" in Kaito's FTEs is proof of that. Quite obviously, this is just a headcanon of mine. I was just glad that Arin pointed that same headcanon and observation out.

EDIT #2: Just to elaborate further, I thought I should mention that Kodaka himself says that just because he personally said something is canon doesn't necessarily mean it is, and it's up to fans to decide; he encourages it. So, despite Kaede/Shuichi having canonical feelings for each other and them canonically being attracted to both genders, it's my personal headcanon that they both feel like they *have* to like the opposite sex as well because of the compulsive heterosexuality of society, especially in certain countries. I have a few reasons why I think that, and Arin's point being spot on to my own reasons and the use of the word "gay coded". Also, they are still teenagers figuring out their feelings. In the end, these are fictional characters and everyone is going to see things differently, even if something is deemed to be canon. That is all.

What about baby daddy dabi and reader have a new baby (a girl) and adjusting to having two kids and how is kaede as a big brother?

just like kaede, this baby girl would be a simple accident because Dabi likes to fuck raw and somehow he put a baby in you. plan b doesn't always work and you had to find out the hard way.

the two of you weren't that scared like when kaede was first discovered because back then, the two of you were toxic as shit, constantly fighting and still doing it when he was born but now you're better so it wouldn't be that hard. the hard part would be kaede adjusting to this stuff because, you two had never brought up the idea of another sibling to him.

"hey kai, what are you doing?" you asked as you and dabi walked into his room, kaede looked up and blinked up at the two of you as he dropped his race car down the raceway he had built. "playing cars. you wanna play?" he asked grabbing two cars and holding them up to you and dabi with a bright smile that almost made you cry.

dabi grabbed his car and inspected the scorch marks on the tiny car before raising an eyebrow at his son. "sorry, i got excited." the toddler said while giggling as you placed your car on the raceway. "okay...but we wanted to know if you wanted a baby sibling?" the older man asked as you and kaede began racing your cars.

"no."

you stop and look at dabi with anxious eyes "why not?" you ask your child and he shrugs carelessly keeping his eyes on the cars. "i don't want to share and baby are noisy. uncle natsu's baby cries really loud when i went there." he says not even understanding what you were trying to tell him but this just made it harder.

"but y'know, wouldn't you want someone to like...hang out with? you're pretty lonely." dabi said trying to back you up but this time kaede looked at him. it wasn't a hateful look but he didn't look happy. he kind of just...stared at dabi. it was haunting. fuck, he needs to stop bringing that kid around tomura.

it scared dabi honestly. "no." well, there was no convincing kaede. he just had to find out when your stomach started getting big.

when the baby girl was born, kaede...it wasn't hate but he definitely did not like her. he would give that same stare he gave dabi to her in her little seat, he was grumpy and complained how she cried all the time and he clearly did not like her.

especially when she started crawling...oh god, he already had to share his room and now she could move around it and touch his stuff??? oh no, he did not like this. if she took his stuff he'd start crying immediately and then she would. it was not good. don't even get me started on how he'd literally erupt in fire when she touched his adventure time stuff.

but then something switched, and you know what it was? kaede had gotten into his evil little boy phase all thanks to tomura and denki and had started playing pranks. but then he figured it out that he could just have his sister do it because she can't even talk, she won't get in trouble.

he would make her sit on the ground in the hallway and pull the string when dabi walked by and hide when he fell. kaede definitely started loving her when he found out that he could make her do things like that because neither of them would get in trouble.

when you found this out you only prayed that he'd grow out of this by the time she's old enough to gain a personality.

Hanzo hattori - samurai shodown

Hanzo Hattori is a legendary ninja and the leader of the Iga ninja clan. He has two sons, Kanzo and Shinzo, one of which has been possessed by Amakusa. When it comes to the skills in Taijutsu, it is said his skills are un-matched. Although he never shows much emotion, he cares for his family very deeply. When Amakusa took over the body of his son Shinzo, he set out to rescue his son. Although Amakusa was defeated at the hands of Haohmaru, Hanzo was not able to retake his son Shinzo. The following year, Amakusa's castle appeared again and he was ordered to destroy the castle to restore peace. There, he found the body of his soulless son. Although he was able to retrieve Shinzo's body, his soul was still lost in Makai. In order to free Shinzo's soul, he leaves his village to find and defeat the source of the evil. After Mizuki was defeated by Haohmaru, Shinzo's soul came back to its body. But because Shinzo's soul was weakened, his mother Kaede gave away her life to save him. Hanzo was good friends with Zankuro before he became a demon.

Hanzo is based on a real historical figure, Hattori Hanzo Masashige, the leader of the Iga ninja clan of Japan. Fellow SNK character, Hanzou, is also based off of the same person. The name "Hattori Hanzo" also appeared in the 1980 movie Shadow Warriors, Makai Tensei, and 2003's Kill Bill.

post-canon: whenever she has free time, kagome tries to recreate foods from her time as a way to practice her cooking skills. inuyasha "helps." (mostly taste-testing to make sure the spice level isn't too high, and also distracting her.) so far they've made a few iterations of udon, attempts at bread, cheese, and sushi. whenever they make something successfully, they invite miroku, sango, and their kids over to have some.

when inuyasha was building their home, he built it with kagome's future home in mind.

this isn't even really a headcanon...but they gossip. a lot. inuyasha will hear something in the village and pass it on to kagome, and they'll discuss it over food or chores until they've exhausted the topic to its core. and people-watching! amusing each other with stories about passersby! and this leads me into my next headcanon-

i think inuyasha starts talking a ton more after meeting kagome. and i don't mean this solely in the "he opened up emotionally" sense, i mean that he's more keen on talking with others and striking up conversation (at least with familiar people in the village.) he still prefers the company of those he's closest to, but he doesn't mind speaking with the child of the headman, or that girl who lives two houses down, or participating in idle chatter he might have once found trite.

kagome is endlessly fascinated with inuyasha's hair and like to style it to destress. inuyasha doesn't really get it, but it's soothing and he's happy to make her happy.

surprise kisses. inuyasha will surprise her with one on the lips and then just walk by like he didn't do anything, kagome will get him back later in the day, so on and so forth.

when one is working late, the other will stay up until they come join them in bed.

sometimes they'll have nightmares and wake up in the middle of the night. when this happens they go out and take walks through the woods, etching out their favorite places as they go.

inuyasha has a human life-span, so he and kagome get to age together. this is actually a headcanon of one of my inutwt friends, but inuyasha dies first (long lasting effects of all his injuries over the years.) they aren't miserable, though - inuyasha dies knowing that he's lived his life to the fullest, when before all he had ever done was survive. kagome lives a little longer, serving as the elderly miko of their village - like kaede - and telling stories about her husband until she, too, passes.

Also major V3 spoilers I guess?

TLDR: I think Kokichi cared about his class a LOT and can't always help his lying habits.

Kokichi is infamously difficult to figure out, which is part of why I love his character so much, buuuut....

When Kokichi says he cares about his classmates I believe him. To me, he seems to get more and more desperate as each classmate dies. Before Rantaro dies he's not even that antagonizing to anyone (aside from his usual antics which I'll talk about at the end of this) and he actually stands up against Kaede when he feels like she's mistreating the others. Honestly I think he even cared about Miu. He defends her actions claiming that she was driven to the point of desperation by the other murders, and he also plays into her verbal abuse kinks a liiiitle too intentionally as far as I am concerned.

But, I think Gonta's death broke him utterly and completely. I believe him when he says that it should have been him, when he begs Monokuma to punish him instead, when he sobs afterwards. Call me naive, but there's something in the English voice actor's delivery that just feels more sincere than any of his other lines at that point.

I genuinely don't think he would have been willing to die to make his plan work before Gonta's death. I think his guilt over Gonta's death drove him to the extremes he was willing to go through with in the end.

Bonus head cannon: I think Kokichi might be a compulsive liar. I don't know much about the real life diagnosis so don't take my word for this here, but I think he feels powerful urges to lie. I also believe him when he says he "hates liars" and I think he includes himself in that statement.

Or not.

Who knows? He is a liar after all...

we have similar thoughts. i think this is all canon. and even after That happened and i cursed him a thousand times over i still said i'd believe in him. but i'm not still upset at all about him like not at all

Summary — ✈︎ Kaede finds Nanaki, who ended up getting separated from the rest on Angel Road. Nanaki shares a couple of things with him that he has been keeping a secret.

Kaede: Haa, haah…! Thank goodness…

Nanaki: ーーChief, you’re always chasing someone around huh.

Kaede: Ahaha, well, it’s because you’re all a bunch of cute, free-spirited troublemakers!

Now then, we have to hurry up and get home but… The path connecting the islands ended up disappearing into the sea again. Let’s wait for one of the arranged ferries to come by.

Nanaki: … Mhm.

Kaede: ……

Nanaki: ……

Kaede: (I wonder if it’d be okay for me to ask what’s been bothering him today. 

I don’t want to be insensitive, so I’m a little worried about what to do.)

Nanaki: …… For some reason.

Kaede: Yeah?

Nanaki: For some reasonーー Everything is just becoming troublesome.

Kaede: Mm… Like what?

The story that’s troubling me the most.

On top of that, I have a hard time controlling my emotions, and I fall in love really easily. I end up falling in love with people who never reciprocate my feelings.

Basically, I’m just a hopeless romantic who always ends up falling for someone.

Nanaki: I know that I’ll never be able to find someone who likes me back, so I don’t want to fall in love with anyone, but no matter what happens, my feelings end up growingーー

Nanaki: Just to clarify, it wasn’t Akuta or any of the others. We just happened to meet each other in the end. 

Kaede: So, on the night of the explosion, you all weren’t planning on gathering togetherーー

Nanaki: It was just a coincidence.

Everyone has their own reasons for going to the building that night.

It’s not my place to talk about anyone else’s reasons though. 

Kaede: (So that’s how it is…)

So the person you had feelings for…

Nanaki: They didn’t come.

They probably ended up figuring it out. Maybe because of my vibe?

On PeChat, they texted things like “I can’t make it tonight” and “I’m planning on seeing that movie with someone else” … Right after the time we promised to meet.

Kaede: ……

Nanaki: I ended up getting cut off completely over text, so I couldn’t even express my feelings to them.

Kaede: That’s so…

Nanaki: Don’t make that kind of expression.

I’m just… Well, I’m content with this type of ending.

I know that feelings like love can be a dangerous weapon, so I’m not holding any grudges against them. 

It’s justーー That bitter, painful feeling is still here.

It takes a lot to get over something like that.

Nanaki: That’s why, I don’t want to fall for someone again. 

I don’t want to get close to anyone. 

My “love” is bound to end up messing things up again, and it’ll just end up destroying me. 

Kaede: (I’m starting to understand why Nanaki-kun has been keeping his distance and acting indifferent now.)

(He’s purposely trying not to get too close to someone. He doesn’t want to get hurt again…)

Nanaki: But, I’m sure that I’ll end up falling in love with someone again. That’s just the way I was born. 

And every time that happens, I’ll end up getting heart broken again. I’ll end up feeling this pain again. 

Kaede: ……

Nanaki: Even though I managed to get this far without thinking about it, the movie we promised to see together got brought up. It got harder to bear.

That’s why it’d be better if I could just forget it all. 

… It’s why I’m trying so hard to forget about it.

Kaede: I don’t think you should.

Nanaki: Eh?

Kaede: I think that you don’t have to try so hard to forget about it. I’m sure it’s painful, but it’s the type of pain that you should keep with you. 

Those feelings were your genuine feelings, so that pain is something that will stick with you. Because “Nanaki-kun's feelings” are important and precious. 

Soーー I think that even painful feelings are something you should value. 

Nanaki: ……

Kaede: I’m sure that you’re a very loving person, Nanaki-kun.

Nanaki: … I don't know about that.

But, I can't reach an understanding with the other person about those feelings, then what’s the point?

I know that in the future, I’ll have to endure another cursed love like this again, butーー

Being able to have that type of connection with someone… If I’m being honest, I can’t imagine loving someone and having that love be returned back to me.  

Kaede: I get it. I also can’t imagine myself in that type of situation at all.

Nanaki: ……

Kaede: There’s no one out there who knows what will happen in the future. 

But, because you don’t know what will happen in the future, you need to love yourself before you love anyone else first. So, when that important person appears in your life someday, you’ll be able to love them with your entire heart.

Nanaki: …… You……

She was a bit different about getting a cat at first because of her job and sister and was afraid something bad could happen to it, but that wasn't quite the case. Though, she would do anything to make you happy, so she was content with getting a cat in the end of things.

Plus with her originally being an orphan anyway, adopting was something she always had her hopes on doing; a pet is a great way to stop!

She knew about your constant anxiety and did her best to help, but sadly with her job she couldn't be there 24/7, so she's glad you have someone to help you when she can't be there. It truly puts her worry at ease.

She grew to love the cat too, and was happy you were confident enough to bring it everywhere with you.

Though when she saw you run home crying with your kitten from school...She knew something was up and anyone who hurt you like this was going on her hitlist....But first she had to go and check on you!

You emitted sobs from your room. Your cat nudged against you, looking up at you; trying to comfort you. Normally this would help, but the issue was being laughed at for having the kitten. Since you ran home early because of the incident, your shared dorm with your girlfriend was just you and your cat since Hopes Peek was still in session. So who could this be? You slowly got up and sniffled. You tried to look sort of presentable, even though you were still very much upset. Opening the door, you looked up; it was Mukuro! Mukuro always had a very neutral expression, even when you started dating; but you could always tell her true expressions, anyway. She seemed worried, and you could figure out why. "(Y/N)? What happened...? Did you get hurt?" She questioned walking into the dorm room and lightly shutting the door behind her. Mukuro seemed extremally calm, she always did after all she deals with stressful situations being a soldier and all. Though, this calmness didn't mean she wasn't worried, she was always worried and caring about you. You busted out in tears again, jumping up and wrapping your hands around the other as you continued to cry into your girlfriends shoulder. Mukuro was a bit stunned at your sudden movement, but she hugged you back scooching over onto the ground just holding you in her arms for a minute. Your cat purrs and walks over to both of you, rubbing their face on both of you. "You don't have to tell me if you don-" Mukuro was cut off by you looking up at her and beginning to explain how you were getting bullied today and mocked for bringing your cat to school with you. "I'm so weak! I don't deserve to be an ultimate!!!" you mumbled into your lovers chest at the end of your explanation. Mukuro could only rub your back and leave a kiss on your head. "You're not weak my love, far from it. You don't deserve any of the words they dare say to you. I'll take care of them, don't worry." She said that last part more quieter than the rest. You sniffled and wiped away some tears and gave Mukuro a sweet smile, you honestly felt a lot better hearing her soothing voice ring throughout your ears. Your cat came up to you with a small meow while you petted the feline. "Thank you...I love you" you said to both your cat and your girlfriend.

The next day at Hopes Peak when you brought your cat, you were expecting the bullying to continue...Instead the kids that were making fun of you aren't anywhere to be seen. Just your girlfriend walking over to you and kissing you on the cheek as she walks you and your cat to all your classes. In reality, those kids were definitely checked off on Mukuro's hitlist.

You and Kaede both agreed to getting a cat, as it fits both your cozy lifestyles

Your panic attacks always worried her, though Kaede was amazing when it came to helping you through them; she used to have performance anxiety so she gets the feeling.

Super happy you found another great coping mechanism to use when you get all stressed out.

Since you both went to different schools, bringing your cat for comfort really helps you get through the day

Kaede bent down to your level, frowning. She knew about the bullying and always tried her best to cheer you up, and most of the time it worked. This time, you seemed to be too stuck in your own head. Kaede didn't know what to do but hug you and put her hands through your hair in the hope of soothing the tears pouring out of your eyes. "I just wish I didn't have anxiety..." you mumbled in between sobs, your cat just lying on your lap, also not knowing what to do. Kaede was speechless, her mind fumbling over how to respond, but she responded in the only way she knew how: through music and song.

Kaede slowly got up from the ground your eyes tracing her movement as she went over to the other room where the piano was. You rubbed your eye and sniffled, curious on what she was about to do. Your girlfriend started playing the piano, it was your favorite song! Your cat perked up and started to trail around Kaede's feat as she started playing. You smiled getting up and wiping dried up tears, her playing always made you happy and this time...It made you confident and cared about. "Thank you Kaede." you whispered just enough for her to hear once she finished her song. She nodded in approval before giving you a peck on the cheek.

The next day at school the bullying continued, but you were no longer letting it get to you. You were confident bringing your cat with you and simply ignored those who were bothering you. You always remembered Kaede's piano playing when you were anxious about having your cat with you all the time and it truly just made you feel better. Thus, because of your ultimate pianist girlfriend; you feel much better about having your support kitty!

It was actually Hiyoko who wanted the cat in the first place since she never got to have an animal growing up

Of course you agreed, as cats are just the cutest and it would make a great addition to the family.

You always kept your anxiety pretty well hidden since that's just how you were, but you did notice when the cat was around it always helped your mind to be put at ease.

So you started carrying the little guy everywhere with you

You were only teased at school when Hiyoko wasn't around, since even the bullies feared to be bullied by her wrath

You sniffled and explained the mean things people had said to you and that it was just too much. She was surprised anyone would dare talk to you that way; you were perfect and the only person who understood her. She had a pouty face on; she was definitely not mad at you but rather at them.

"How dare those pig-faced bitches say anything mean to you? They're such losers, and how is it that they go this low? Hmph." She pouted, crossing her arms, and you giggled. The insults you thought were very creative and cute made you feel a bit better. Hiyoko smiled back at you and helped you up on the floor. Grabbing your hand, she started walking away with you before starting to speak once again. "Cm'on. I'm going to make them say sorry to you!" Your eyes widened; this is Hiyoko were talking about, so it's bound to be insults until they're crying apologies to you. Hiyoko knows how to hit all the weak spots.

You showed her the people that were being mean to you, and she crossed her arms, kimono draping. She looked pissed, and the bullies stopped in their tracks. "You pig-slut losers! You should carry a plant around with you to replace the oxygen you waste! Were you born this stupid, or did you take lessons? I’d slap you, but I don’t want to make your face look any better. Now, see that door? Say sorry and go to the other side of it." She spurted at them, and it seemed to work, as they quickly apologized to you and did as she said. Maybe they were afraid of the amount of bullying Hiyoko would have done if they didn't, as what she said was just a sample. Hiyoko pouted and then looked at you with a smile. "Now, wanna go and get candy? We can get cat treats as well!" She tilted her head as you nodded and smiled back at her.

You already had your feline friend before you started dating Fuyuhiko

It was surprising to you how gentle and caring he was towards your pet. You didn't think he liked cats but he actually really does

You never really carried your cat around before your relationship bloomed, but your anxiety started to get bad and Fuyuhiko was always at dangerous jobs so he wasn't around alot unfortunately

Though when he is around, even though he's not best with his words he gives the best physical affection that always eases your mind

Honestly people were scared to even talk to you because of your boyfriend, but those unknowing of who your boyfriend was was quick to tease and pick on you. Not a good idea on there part

You didn't want to worry Fuyuhiko with this since he has enough on his plate, so you just silently sobbed to yourself when he was away

A few tears trickled down your cheeks while you were in your shared dorm. Your boyfriend was already gone for whatever the Yakuza had going on at the moment, and he wasn't expected to be home until much later. The bullying earlier really got to you and stressed you out; you weren't sure what else to do but cry and curl up in a ball. Your cat was in the other room asleep; you didn't want even your fluffy little fur ball to see you like this. After a few moments, the door opened quietly. Usually,  you would be taking a nap at this time, so Fuyuhiko probably thought as much. When your boyfriend walked in, you tried to quickly wash away your tears, but Fuyuhiko already saw the emotional distress you were in.

His eyes widened, he crouched down to your level, and he gave you a hug. "Who the fuck did this to you? Are you hurt?" He panickily asks, trying to be as quiet as he can to not scare you or make your anxiety worse. You nodded and sniffled, afraid to talk, but you knew it would only worry your boyfriend if you didn't. You took a deep breath, looked up at Fuyuhiko, and made eye contact. Soon enough, you were crying your eyes out, explaining your situation to your beloved. Fuyuhiko's eyes turned to anger. How could someone dare even say a word to you without his permission, nevermind say something so filthy? He took a deep breath, controlling his anger so as not to take it out on you. He kisses you on the lips lightly as you melt into it. "I'll handle it; don't worry, Y/N. I fucking promise you." He whispered into your ear.

The next day, you brought your cat to school as always, expecting the bullies to come and torment you again, almost forgetting Fuyuhiko's promise, until he tapped you on the shoulder. You turned around and smiled at him, pecking his lips with a kiss. He wasn't usually at school because of his job, so it was a happy surprise. "By the way, Y/N, Peko is handling those fuckers today, so she won't be here," he whispered into your ear as your eyes widened. It was a good day to have a Yakuza boyfriend!

But.....A pet? After what happened to his dog he wasn't sure if he deserved to take care or even be around another animal; afraid his luck would do something to it

So you started to bring the kitten everywhere with you!

Nagito also suffers from anxiety, so if anyone he understands it the best. He's overjoyed you found a great coping mechanism

Plus he doesn't think he's good enough to comfort you, so this also puts his mind at ease.

Nagito regularly got bullied at school, and it's usually you that would stand up from him but since you started bringing a cat with you...Things started to change

You're a really sensitive person and don't know how to deal with being picked on so you just start crying

Nagito was a clingy mess, so of course he was with you when you overheard some kids talking bad about you and your cat, and he was there when you started to tear up. Nagitos’ heart broke. How dare someone bring despair to his precious hope? You tried not to weep In front of your boyfriend, not that you were afraid to show weakness but the fact that you couldn’t stand him being a big worried mess about you. Your boyfriend stayed calm and took your hand and guided you out of the school. You didn’t ask what he was doing as you were ecstatic to leave the school and destress. Your cat was on Nagito’s shoulder, curious about how to make you feel better. You and Nagito walked to the car, Nagito in the driver’s seat and you in the passenger seat. He frowned, looking over at your saddened and stressed out state. You had no words as when you were upset and stressed; talking wasn’t a thing you did. Nagito hugged you close and tilted his head. “It’s okay, my hope. Everything will be okay. You’re so strong and beautiful, please don’t listen to their despairful words,” he said softly as your cat climbed onto your lap and curled up, purring. You pet your kitten, then giggle and pet Nagito's hair. Later that day, Nagito drove both of you home. He had a plan of how to handle those people who were picking on you, but for now, he decided to keep your mind off of it. Thus, you Nagito and your kitten all cuddles on the couch together and watched your favorite movie. “... I love you,” you mumbled to Nagito as you cuddled into his chest, snuggling your head into him. His face turned red with blush as you cuddled onto his chest.. You said this a lot to him, but he won’t ever believe he has such a hopeful, significant other that truly loves him. “I love you too.”

After an hour you adopted a black cat because Kokichi said it looked evil, but that was a lie as the cat was the sweetest thing to both of you

The kitty would always seem to make you happy just as much as Kokichi did. He had to admit he was a SLIGHHHHT bit jealous but he still was happy for your small little friend

Kokichi was either hated or loved at school, no in between, but everyone knew that you were his queen/king/royalty because he would talk about you ALL the time

So those that didn't like him...Well also didn't like you, but until you started bringing your cat around they had nothing to make fun of you for

You were used to teasing by Kokichi, but this is straight out bullying with the cruel words they said to you

He just held your hand on the way back to both of your dorms. Your cat went off to eat, and Kokichi grabbed your wrist with concern. “… What happened?” he asked in a worried tone, tilting his head. “W-what do you mean?” you acted dumb trying to ease your lovers’ concern. “Don’t lie to me, please tell me” a small tremble in his voice at this point; you just sighed and frowned before telling him everything that’s been happening and you started sobbing at the end of your explanation.

Shock swept over Kokichi. He knew people hated him and he couldn't care less, him and D.I.C.E would just prank them all the time anyway, but he draws the line of them messing with his queen/king/royalty. The rest of the night was filled with special attention from your little supreme leader. He was a clingy mess, and you loved it! He gave you many pecks on the cheeks and did everything in his power to distract you from what happened, besides he plans to have D.I.C. E give them the worst prank he can think of tomorrow, making sure they never dare make fun of you for having an emotional support animal again. While you both were cuddling, your cat wanted to join as it pounced onto the bed and curled in between you two, meowing and being a cutie. “See! It’s dividing me from my queen/king/royalty. I told you it’s evil!!!” Kokichi states, giving a pouty look to your cat. All you could do was facepalm at his shenanigans. He was such a loveable goofball.

Men and women dressed in suits gave her odd looks as they passed by, a high schooler standing near the crosswalk for over two hours. Kaede waited patiently, pacing now and again when her feet would tire, until the third hour struck, and she finally sat down. Her limbs felt heavy, abused from the endless days of travel and missions. When a curse was exorcised, another would spring up halfway across the world, then another. She doesn’t remember falling asleep, until Satoru is there shaking her shoulder. The air had become cold, the light of the sun replaced by bright screens fixed to the sides of buildings. Her neck feels stiff. “What time is it?”

“Around eight, I think.”

They had agreed to meet around three. Kaede doesn’t make mention of it, though, and embraces him. “I missed you.”

He breaks apart from her, speaking excitedly, “I finally did it.”

“Did what?”

“Domain Expansion.”

“That’s,” she struggles to find the right word, “Good.”

“Come on,” he takes her hand, pulling her from the spot she’d been occupying for five hours, “I’ll show you.”

“What about dinner?”

“Dinner can wait,” Satoru pulls her through the crowded streets, turning a corner into a relatively vacant alleyway. Then without warning, he braces Kaede’s shoulders and teleports them into a woody area she doesn’t recognize.

The brief sensation of the air being ripped out and forced back into her lungs makes Kaede groan. “I told you to warn me when you’re going to do that.”

“Ah, right, sorry.” Satoru takes hold of her hand, raising his other. He crosses his middle fingers. “Domain Expansion: Infinite Void.”

Kaede feels the world around them slowly fade away, the ground slipping into nothingness, and the air turning still. She’d never been inside a completed domain other than her own, and loathed the helpless sensation. Everything in sight turns to bright light, bursting into clusters of fog and what looked like galaxies swarming amongst one another.

She feels the safe tug of his palm. “What happens if I let go?”

“Your brain gets fried,” he says, somewhat playfully. “The void rushes all the information of existence through you, lets you feel everything at once.”

“Making it nothing essentially,” Kaede concludes, noticing that like her own domain, Satoru’s is unusually cold.

“Isn’t it cool?” he says. “I finally figured it out on my mission this morning.”

Kaede stares out into the celestial abyss, “So this is what it’s like then? Being given the information the Six Eyes does, but not the tools to understand it.”

“I forgot how smart you are,” Satoru smiles. “I haven’t actively imbued any of my techniques. Most likely I’ll never have to.”

“Because our techniques are passive,” Kaede, feeling she’s been given too much credit, understands only because her innate domain works in a similar manner. Once inside, curses freeze because they can’t make sense of the broken down linearity of time. Only someone with the Forward Sight could make sense of the mess, directing these broken strands the way they pleased. “It’s a little… lonely, in here, don’t you think?”

“Well, we are the only ones here.”

“But inside your head,” Kaede says, “Do you feel lonely?”

Satoru releases his domain, exposing them to the open air. “Not when I’m with you, no.” Yet, he lets go of her hand when he says this, knowing he can’t stay for longer.

Kaede smiles weakly. “Well, I’m glad you figured it out. Are we going back to Shinjuku now?”

“I can drop you off there if you want, but I’ll have to get going after.”

“Where?”

“They called me in for a mission starting tomorrow morning,” Satoru says, in what Kaede’s eyes appeared to be, rather shamelessly. “Besides, I want to work out all the kinks in the Domain Expansion.”

The reality of the situation, in which she waited five hours for less than twenty minutes of her boyfriend’s time, does not occur to Kaede. She nods in feeble disappointment, and without complaint asks him to drop her off at the school instead.
