Clothes Maketh the (Wo)Man (or the colour coding of the Iron Trio)
Tumblr media
I saw a post recently wondering about the significance, if any, of the colours our Iron Trio wears💙🖤🧡. It prompted me to go looking. Like everything Complete Fiction seems to do in regard to this show, the choices are careful and deliberate.
Lockwood is black and white🖤🤍 He has a business to run and his suited appearance declares that he is prepared to do just that. He’s business like because he has to be. The success of this company rides on his back and the choices he makes. He is ambitious certainly, seen in his constant striving to take Lockwood and Co to the top and in his drive to put them into the public eye, often at the expense of other’s wishes. But it’s understandable. He has bills to pay and people (George and Lucy) that rely on him. Even after they successfully square away their debts, Lockwood remains conscious that there are still other bills to pay.
Lockwood presents an adult façade to the world. Even Lucy (in the book) is surprised to realise he is scarcely older than her upon first meeting him. But, whilst he may appear an adult, he’s still very much a teenager navigating his way through a world where children are dispensable and adults, despite their general uselessness, still call the shots. It’s Lockwood’s sneakers and pink socks that give him away and reveal the teenage boy behind the façade. This was such a clever choice on the part of Complete Fiction 👏 They remind us that whilst Lockwood has been forced to grow up too quickly, at heart he is still a teen.
So, black and white. Very simple and clear cut. Except life isn’t like that, is it?Only Lucy has insight into how tenuous his grip on control can be, and we see this in the delightful stairwell scene 💖💖💖
Tumblr media
😍Take a moment everyone- right, where were we?
Ah yes, Lucy and her blue persona (colour not mood). Lucy’s blue is a nice foil to the green of the ghostly world they inhabit. Both blue and green are heavily associated with nature. I don’t know what that means here, but it’s interesting to ponder.
Tumblr media
Blue is traditionally seen as a colour of constancy, loyalty and reliability. She certainly provides this for Lockwood. But it’s also a strong colour, hence its traditional association with boys. A practical colour, heavily associated with working, it feeds into Lucy’s active strength.
(Some of these ideas came after reading the interesting article https://www.allure.com/story/beauty-and-the-beast-blue-dresses-in-female-centric-films . Not sure I agree with all of it but certainly food for thought).
Tumblr media
Finally, George 🧡 Orange radiates warmth. George is the only from a stable family background, only leaving because of a burning desire to solve the Problem.
Orange can represent physical comfort, which, when you add it to his cooking prowess completes the picture. Despite taking a while to warm to Lucy  (understandable when it’s just been him and Lockwood for a year) once he’s in, he’s all in 💯
Orange can represent physical comfort, which, when you add it to his cooking prowess completes the picture. He’s homely-he embodies home. As Lucy says to Lockwood, “Portland Row is my home-You and George”. And despite having taken a while to warm to Lucy (understandable when it’s just been him and Lockwood for a year) once he’s in, he’s all in 💯
It is interesting too that orange is also a complementary colour to blue, meaning that you can argue that George balances Lucy, providing stability for Lockwood.
So, there you have it, my thoughts, nonsensical or not, on the colour coding of our three heroes 🧡💙🖤
Maybe, just maybe, they were completely random colour choices based on what CF could source. But knowing Complete Fiction, I somehow think not 😉

There's just a more consistent problem of three houses fans specifically demanding that the franchise should cater to them
For example, there were awakening fans who were stupid enough to complain that echoes didn't have s-support mechanics. That's ridiculous, but it's not as prevalent as three houses fans who insist that every game should strive to be like three houses
Like that cf fan who decided that every preexisting fire emblem game should've been crimson flower and that it should define the future of the franchise
Unfortunately, that's not an uncommon opinion and hearing that too often is gonna result in people who end up generalizing all three houses fans as elitist and the source for a lot of hate towards other games in the franchise whether or not that's actually true
The sad truth is the toxic part of the three houses subfandom is too loud and made the entire game's subfandom a lightning rod for these kind of accusations
And unfortunately, IS is probably gonna follow in that direction because that's where the money is.
Future FE games drowning in bloated game mechanics that were once simple, copy pasted maps to give the illusion of content, multi story routes that can't ever have a fucking connecting point cuz they'll inevitably have another Kawaii Murder Princess they need to sell, probably terrible load times again, and the main writers who work for the IS team not getting more shots because they'll be too chickenshit to try ever again since people thought Engage was garbage.
If the next game is just 3H but again in terms of structure, my big shame is hoping that it flops/underperforms. That structure should never be a thing again in the series.

“Those who promote the notion that "gender-affirmative" therapy is the only ethical pathway for treatment often make this claim based on the premise that gender is innate and unchanging. Yet at the same time, they strive to defend the narrative that gender is fluid. In the words of Kate Bornstein, "Gender fluidity is the ability to freely and knowingly become one or many of a limitless number of genders, for any length of time or rate of change."(39) Or, as Julia Serano explained, "[The majority of the transgender people I know understand that our experiential gender is potentially fluid and often changes over time as we accumulate new experiences."(40) Therefore, if one's internal sense of gender identity isn't always fixed, why would it not be possible for therapists to assist clients to realign their identity with their sex?
Many psychologists have found counseling effective in this regard. This is not about dismissing the intensity and reality of one's dysphoric feelings. Rather, it involves taking a deeper look at the challenges being faced by the individual who is experiencing such feelings. Psychiatrist Susan Bradley noted that many who transition and reflect with regret upon their decision often say, "I wish somebody had understood me from a psychological point of view and didn't just take at face value that I thought this was the answer to how I was feeling."(41) Or, as Dr. Deborah Soh asks, "If a gender dysphoric person is not experiencing a mental health disorder, why do they need to transition to feel better?"(42)
Counseling has been proven to help individuals who experience gender dysphoria, in some cases to experience greater alignment to their biological sex.(43) It can involve therapy for coexisting psychological issues, parental counseling, talk therapy, and other forms of counseling. In a follow-up study by Dr. Kenneth Zucker and colleagues, of the twenty-five young women who had been treated by psychological interventions, gender dysphoria persisted in only three of the patients.(44)”

What is your take on Lisa when she was at Sumeru Academy?
TL;DR: Lisa was a “model Akademiya student” — non-stop research output, overworking, lack of study-life boundaries — until she burned out hard.
(Note: this is primarily headcanon.)
Well, first, lemme use this as an excuse to plug my Lisa Vision ficlet:
They call you the Lohefalter of this century, the Biruni of this millenium. Young and old, all your classmates strive to emulate you.
[...]
When you tag along on Ruin and Domain exploration trips as part of [your] thesis... dozens of imitators attempt the same: they hire their own Adventurers Guild escorts, and head deep into the Mare Jivari’s ruins to find data they can sell on to you in exchange for co-authorship. Of the thirty percent who survive, all but two of them drop out to pursue other careers[...]
[...]
When you start bulk-making protein shakes—the saved time increasing your productive hours by nearly eight percent—your recipe is known across the Academia within a week: a sickly yellow powder made of desiccated pumpkin, ginger, turmeric, onion extract, and almond flour, mixed 1:2 with water to serve. Most people give up in disgust after a few days: the chalky texture and homogeneous flavour prove too much for them. (They don’t realise you yourself have been taking medicine to suppress your gag reflex: tempus fugit, every minute saved gets you that much close to being a Dastur.)
You don't finish two theses in a record two years (instead of decades!) without falling into the "be passionate about your work" trap. I imagine late teens + early 20's Lisa as wanting to Do Great Things, falling in love with the Akademiya. She turned herself into a machine for churning out Knowledge and Research, and was supported every step of the way by the Akademiya.
I'm not sure whether it was the Akademiya's culture or the price of power/knowledge in Teyvat that finally pulled the wool from the eyes — probably a bit of both. But she burned out, hard, graduating and then "retiring" to a sleepy town where nothing ever happens, going out of her way to pursue a life of late mornings and minimal stress.
One could easily read her as having post-traumatic chronic fatigue. Remember this line?:
“I really wish people would just return their books on time!”
(Cf. EN audio 1 2 from Wikia page; see also e.g. 1:29 here.)
[EN VA] Mara Junot's performance provides a lot of characterisation here, well before we see how terrified everyone is of her wrath. This is a woman with a lot of sublimated anger, a 99% calm demeanor with a temper that flares up out of nowhere. And the trigger for said temper? People causing her extra work— which, knowing what we know about her, is tantamount to people causing her undue stress.
I think Lisa is going out of her way to insulate herself from any triggers reminiscent of her Akademiya years, and work overload is a huge part of that.

Coming down with Covid-19 on March 22, 2020 completely altered filmmaker Chimére Sweeney’s life. A Black middle school English teacher in Baltimore, Maryland at the time, Sweeney was shocked to find herself disregarded by doctor after doctor as she pushed to find answers when she was still sick weeks, months, and then years after infection. Even more disturbing was connecting with other Black women with Long Covid experiencing similar mistreatment.
Long Covid forced Sweeney into an early retirement and forged her into an activist. Now based in Poughkeepsie, New York, Sweeney is in the early stages of creating Black and (Un)Believed: Finding #LongCovid Care Through Ancestral Care, a film about the experiences of Black Americans with Long Covid, and the challenges of being chronically ill, disabled, and ignored by the health care system. She has crowdfunded nearly $16,000 out of a goal of $500,000, is working to secure grants and more community support to complete the film’s budget, and casting participants and hiring crew members.
Journalist Lygia Navarro spoke with Sweeney about her vision for the film, racism and anti-Blackness in advocacy spaces, and connections between surviving trauma and Long Covid. This interview has been lightly edited and condensed for clarity.
Lygia Navarro: What do you want to achieve with the documentary?
Chimére Sweeney: Black people have an overwhelming amount of fear advocating [for their health]. It’s also resignation: “I know how the medical system looks at us.” I want to change the narrative of fear.
My goal is to remind us that, even while enslaved people in America, [African-Americans] had already been striving to achieve agency with our bodies. In my research, I’m learning about [enslaved] women who found creative ways to protect their children, ways to protect each other. Even as enslaved – and then as freed – people, we were creating hospitals, creating medical procedures, creating vaccinations. Things that showed our advocacy.
LN: Why is it necessary to make this film?
CS: I want people to meet real Black people navigating Long Covid and/or ME/CFS [Myalgic Encephalomyelitis, also called chronic fatigue syndrome] – they’re mothers, they’re wives, they’re part of the LGBTQIA+ community. Black men have been largely forgotten in this conversation. They’re [all] trying to figure out how to get the best health care.
My goal is to teach Black people how to engage in advocacy, and to define Long Covid for those in the Black community who may not know what it is. It’s imperative, for us to get the care we need and deserve.
LN: The word unbelieved – I’ve heard in reporting that Black folks and Latines do not necessarily realize that they have Long Covid. Doctors may have discounted them. Their communities say, “Oh, you’re just getting older. You’re just tired.” How serious do you think that problem is, of folks not believing themselves that they have Long Covid?
CS: That’s a pervasive problem… I have seen people develop these weird symptoms that I know so well. Before this, y’all were pretty healthy. I have to do a dance to say, “Hey, maybe think about going to the doctor and discussing Long Covid.”
When we continue to perpetuate anti-Blackness, it devoids us of the ability to educate people about what’s really going on. There’s not a lot of knowledge about Long Covid. People pretend they don’t have the money to educate. That’s why I wrote that letter to [Senator Bernie] Sanders  [urging him to include a focus on Black people with Long Covid in the Long Covid Moonshot bill].
LN: Could you talk about your experiences with being unbelieved?
CS: Today, I was going to make a call to my psychiatrist and my therapist to talk about the feelings that come up each time I write my film’s title out. For about two years, I have been fighting the PTSD, sadness, hurt, embarrassment, humiliation of all I experienced. I get chills – I cannot believe some of the things I experienced.
Four years ago, I was at Johns Hopkins emergency room. [Beforehand], I had to crawl to the bathroom, try to stand up, take a shower, dress myself as best I could. Even though the brain fog was so heavy, I had to remember my name, my social [security number], the type of health insurance I had. I will never forget the meticulous steps I had to take to prove how sick I was. Only to have all of that dismissed. More than once. More than twice. More than five times. More than 10 times.
Every day in the dark, I was on my phone, writing down every symptom. Lights burned my eyes. Sound burned my ears. My brain felt like it was on fire. I was able to show medical professionals my symptoms, and they would say “Go home and rest.” That is the worst thing that’s ever happened to me.
That broke my spirit. Changed how I saw humanity. That was also my first real experience with racism and discrimination and with being unbelieved, with being humiliated on that level. I had been living at a level of privilege: I had insurance. I was a teacher. I’m educated. And you’re like, “Oh, I got all these things working for me.” Only to be sent home, left to die.
That’s why now, even four years later, I still experience nightmares. Flashbacks. I can’t even show my husband pictures of 2020 without having a complete meltdown.
I’ve definitely read a lot about trauma. I [grew up in] an abusive home, too. When I feel triggered, I don’t believe in pushing things inside.
LN: Can you tell me about some of the folks who are going to be in your film?
CS: My friend Brooke [Keaton], she was fighting for her disability insurance. This is somebody who’s worked, paid into a system, had to stop working because she got sick. Our political system sets us up to be disbelieved. I cannot believe that any agency will look at Brooke, or me, or whoever else and think to themselves, “We don’t believe you.”
I’m hearing all kinds of stories. My friend Myiesha, she just had to drive a long distance to get care. And these [doctors] are people who are like, “Oh, no, it’s not that bad. Just live with it.”
Roma-Jerome Jackson, I really want to interview him – I want them to be a part of it. He’s a teacher in [Los Angeles,] California. Right now, they’re fighting schools to acknowledge that Long Covid is causing students to become disabled.
I want to include some members of Margot [Gage Witvliet]‘s [BIPOC women’s support] group. She’s done an incredible job of keeping Black women and BIPOC women talking for the last three years.
I’ve met an incredible amount of people who I just find brilliant, and I figured, what better way to kind of get those people all together and hear their thoughts than to make a movie and include them on my team? In my documentary, I staff what I see in the world. My goal is to employ disabled people, members of other communities.
LN: In hearing you talk, I’ve been reminded of what folks say: at work, people of color have to be twice as excellent [as white people] to be seen as average. You’ve had to be twice as dedicated to getting yourself listened to, just to be able to get kind of listened to.
CS: I think about that all the time. It never gets easier to process. Sadly, we live in a society that’s poised to silently perpetuate anti-Blackness.
I think it’s still hard for white people sometimes to really understand the greatness outside of them [within people of color]. I’ve had so many people thank me for my advocacy, or tell me, “You speak great!”
LN: –groans-
CS: Or, “You tell a great story!” Or, “You write so well.” As if that isn’t me. I’m like, “I’ve always been her.” Let’s never get that confused.
LN: Data clearly show that Black folks and Latines – especially women – have the highest rates of Long Covid nationally. But if you look at who gets attention in the Long Covid advocacy landscape, it’s mostly white folks. What’s it like to experience this discrepancy in representation versus the reality of who is living with Long Covid?
CS: The first two years, I was getting caught up in ego: “Oh my God, all these white people like me. People are in my inbox. People are asking me to be a part of this, and I’m coming to these events, virtually. And I’m the only Black person.” Then around the end of 2022 going into 2023, I started to [notice]: There are no Black decision-makers. No Black person in leadership of finances. These campaigns are still super white.
[When I was involved with advocacy organizations, there were] times I wanted to talk about race. I wanted to have sections of their websites directed and focused on people of color. “Not right now. We don’t have time.” Or, “We don’t have enough money.” These are legacy organizations that by way of government funders, private donors, they are getting money – and still perpetuating anti-Blackness.
LN: Did I understand correctly from your press release on anti-Blackness in Long Covid advocacy that you have pulled back from being part of a lot of organizations because of this?
CS: Absolutely. And that’s a risk financially because, as a consultant, I was making pretty good money. But who was representing me at the top? You get millions of dollars for you to talk to the same white people you’ve talked to for 30 years.
Any company I work with from now on, [I first ask] how much money are you using to promote, or to investigate, and to really add on with Black and Latin representation? And, if you’re not: start there.
LN: I was following what was going on with you and the virtual Long Covid and ME conference Unite to Fightin your posts, when you critiqued them for lack of Black and BIPOC representation. Can you give readers a quick summary?
CS: I was on Twitter [X] one day and saw this Unite to Fight Tweet looking for moderators for the conference. I reached out to one of the organizers without doing a lot of research. And then I looked on the website. And I was flabbergasted at what I saw: a beautiful website, but ain’t a Black person on here that’s going to be featured as a speaker.
So I wrote them again and I said, “What’s your plan on including more Black representation?”
The response was, Oh, it’s so hard to find people, and we are still scheduling people, and we can’t tell you who else is coming. That was three weeks before the conference.
So I got on Twitter and I was like well, let me [critique the lack of representation] publicly. And then all the vitriol came. So many other people came in and tried to convince me why wanting Black representation just didn’t make sense. Telling me I did not contribute to their calls for contribution. Me asking you what your Black representation looks like is a contribution.
LN: Didn’t they also threaten legal action [– for libel for saying that they had raised a lot of funds and weren’t including Black people in the conference]?
CS: Yes. They tried to scare me. And they almost did for a second. I was like, “I’m not going to let y’all off the hook for this.”
I hope that was a learning experience for them, and for American Long Covid and ME/CFS advocates and nonprofits.
LN: What responsibilities do white people with Long Covid have in this?
CS: I really felt like, damn, why aren’t more white people talking about this? People who champion me, the minute I said anti-Blackness, it was like, “Oh, I can’t.”
I had cried to my husband. Then I decided to leave it alone. I made my point. I went to bed one night and woke up to a whole slew of people supporting me – retweet after retweet. I wasn’t expecting it. It was amazing.

While Matthew introduces the Our Father with a short catechesis on prayer in general, we find it in a different context in Luke — namely, Jesus' journey to Jerusalem. Luke prefaces the Lord's Prayer with the following remark: Jesus "was praying in a certain place, and when he ceased, one of his disciples said to him, 'Lord, teach us to pray . . .'" (Lk 11:1). The context, then, is that the disciples see Jesus praying and it awakens in them the wish to learn from him how to pray. This is typical for Luke, who assigns a very special place in his Gospel to Jesus' prayer. Jesus' entire ministry arises from his prayer, and is sustained by it. Essential events in the course of his journey, in which his mystery is gradually unveiled, appear in this light as prayer events. Peter's confession that Jesus is the Holy One of God is connected with encountering Jesus at prayer (cf. Lk 9:18ff.); the Transfiguration of Jesus is a prayer event (cf. Lk 9:28f.). The fact that Luke places the Our Father in the context of Jesus' own praying is therefore significant. Jesus thereby involves us in his own prayer; he leads us into the interior dialogue of triune love; he draws our human hardships into God's heart, as it were. This also means, however, that the words of the Our Father are signposts to interior prayer, they provide a basic direction for our being, and they aim to configure us to the image of the Son. The meaning of the Our Father goes much further from the mere provision of a prayer text. It aims to form our being, to train us in the inner attitude of Jesus (cf. Phil 2:5). This has two different implications for our interpretation of the Our Father. First of all, it is important to listen as accurately as possible to Jesus' words as transmitted in Scripture. We must strive to recognize the thoughts Jesus wished to pass on to us in these words. But we must also keep in mind that the Our Father originates from his own praying, from the Son's dialogue with the Father. This means that it reaches down into depths far beyond words. It embraces the whole compass of man's being in all ages and can therefore never be fully fathomed by purely historical exegesis, however important it may be.

🤷‍♀️ Therefore lift your drooping hands and strengthen your weak knees, and make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be put out of joint but rather be healed. Strive for peace with everyone, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord. Hebrews‬ ‭12‬:‭12‬-‭14‬‬
Thayer's Greek Lexicon
STRONGS NT 38: ἁγιασμός
ἁγιασμός, (οῦ, ὁ, a word used only by Biblical and ecclesiastical writings (for in Diodorus 4, 39; Dionysius Halicarnassus 1, 21, ἁγισμός is the more correct reading), signifying:
1. consecration, purification, τό ἁγιάζειν.
2. the effect of consecration: sanctification of heart and life, 1 Corinthians 1:30 (Christ is he to whom we are indebted for sanctification); 1 Thessalonians 4:7; Romans 6:19, 22; 1 Timothy 2:15; Hebrews 12:14; ἁγιασμός πνεύματος sanctification wrought by the Holy Spirit, 2 Thessalonians 2:13; 1 Peter 1:2. It is opposed to lust in 1 Thessalonians 4:3f. (It is used in a ritual sense, Judges 17:3 (Alexandrian LXX); Ezekiel 45:4; (Amos 2:11); Sir. 7:31, etc.) (On its use in the N. T. cf. Ellicott on 1 Thessalonians 4:3; 1 Thessalonians 3:13.)

18th September >> Mass Readings (USA)
Wednesday, Twenty Fourth Week in Ordinary Time
(Liturgical Colour: Green. Year: B(II))
First Reading 1 Corinthians 12:31-13:13 So faith, hope, love remain, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
Brothers and sisters: Strive eagerly for the greatest spiritual gifts. But I shall show you a still more excellent way. If I speak in human and angelic tongues but do not have love, I am a resounding gong or a clashing cymbal. And if I have the gift of prophecy and comprehend all mysteries and all knowledge; if I have all faith so as to move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give away everything I own, and if I hand my body over so that I may boast but do not have love, I gain nothing. Love is patient, love is kind. It is not jealous, love is not pompous, it is not inflated, it is not rude, it does not seek its own interests, it is not quick-tempered, it does not brood over injury, it does not rejoice over wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails. If there are prophecies, they will be brought to nothing; if tongues, they will cease; if knowledge, it will be brought to nothing. For we know partially and we prophesy partially, but when the perfect comes, the partial will pass away. When I was a child, I used to talk as a child, think as a child, reason as a child; when I became a man, I put aside childish things. At present we see indistinctly, as in a mirror, but then face to face. At present I know partially; then I shall know fully, as I am fully known. So faith, hope, love remain, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
The Word of the Lord
R/ Thanks be to God.
Responsorial Psalm Psalm 33:2-3, 4-5, 12 and 22
R/ Blessed the people the Lord has chosen to be his own.
Give thanks to the LORD on the harp; with the ten-stringed lyre chant his praises. Sing to him a new song; pluck the strings skillfully, with shouts of gladness.
R/ Blessed the people the Lord has chosen to be his own.
For upright is the word of the LORD, and all his works are trustworthy. He loves justice and right; of the kindness of the LORD the earth is full.
R/ Blessed the people the Lord has chosen to be his own.
Blessed the nation whose God is the LORD, the people he has chosen for his own inheritance. May your kindness, O LORD, be upon us who have put our hope in you.
R/ Blessed the people the Lord has chosen to be his own.
Gospel Acclamation cf. John 6:63c, 68c
Alleluia, alleluia. Your words, Lord, are Spirit and life, you have the words of everlasting life. Alleluia, alleluia.
Gospel Luke 7:31-35 We played the flute for you, but you did not dance. We sang a dirge, but you did not weep.
Jesus said to the crowds: “To what shall I compare the people of this generation? What are they like? They are like children who sit in the marketplace and call to one another,
‘We played the flute for you, but you did not dance. We sang a dirge, but you did not weep.’
For John the Baptist came neither eating food nor drinking wine, and you said, ‘He is possessed by a demon.’ The Son of Man came eating and drinking and you said, ‘Look, he is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.’ But wisdom is vindicated by all her children.”
The Gospel of the Lord
R/ Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.

| Sönderjylland, Denmark | | Breeder of Wielkopolski for Dressage |
Echo International Dressage, or ED in short, is owned by Vivian Cheswick, who also own Echo International Dressage, and is driven by Fallulah Melander, her older brother Ludo and their staff. The stable is very focused on Dressage, and doing well in the discipline, even if they do have some horses that doesn’t fit that vision. Those are boarders of which they have a few...
The main focus, other than the discipline Dressage, is the Wielkopolski horse. They are the main breed, and Fallulah strives for breeding the best of them. What is a little out of the ordinary for someone competing in Dressage is the choice of breed though, and choice of horses. Because most of the Wielkopolskis at Melander Dressage are spotted in some way or other. Meaning that they either are or carry some kind of appaloosa pattern. That is unusual in modern Dressage, since most horses competing right now are solid or almost solid in colour and pattern.
Fallulah’s goal is opening peoples' eyes for how good the Wielkopolski horse is, and how well they actually fit for Dressage. The breed is, in general, very versatile, and can do well in other disciplines as well, but Fallulah likes to focus on Dressage with hers and this stable.
In the stable you will find a few other Misc breeds, bought for their Dressage skills to mix in with the Wielkopolski, or just bought on a whim: like for example the PREs. Fallulah is actually quite sure you can’t have a dressage stable without that breed.

Saint John begins his account of how Jesus washed the feet of his disciples with especially solemn, almost liturgical language: "Before the feast of Passover, Jesus knew that his hour had come to pass from this world to the Father. He loved his own in the world and he loved them to the end" (13:1). The "hour" of Jesus has arrived, toward which all of his activity was directed from the beginning. John describes what makes up the content of this hour with two terms: "to pass" (metabainein, metabasis) and "agape" – love. These two words explain each other; both describe together the Passover of Jesus: cross and resurrection, crucifixion as elevation, as "passage" to the glory of God, as a "passing" from the world to the Father. It is not as if Jesus, after a brief visit to the world, were now simply departing and returning to the Father. This passage is a transformation. He carries with him his flesh, his being man. On the Cross, in giving himself, He is fused and transformed, as it were, into a new mode of being, in which He is now forever with the Father, and at the same time with men. He transforms the Cross, the act of killing, into an act of self-donation, of love to the end. With this expression, "to the end," John refers in advance to the last words of Jesus on the Cross: all has been brought to conclusion, "it is finished" (19:30). Through his love, the Cross becomes "metabasis," the transformation of the human being into a participant in the glory of God. In this transformation, He involves all of us, drawing us into the transformative power of his love to such an extent that, in our being with Him, our lives become a "passage," a transformation. Thus we receive redemption – becoming participants in eternal love, a condition toward which all of our existence strives.
This essential process of the hour of Jesus is represented in the washing of the feet, in a sort of symbolic prophetic action. In it, Jesus displays through a concrete action precisely what the great Christological hymn of the letter to the Philippians describes as the content of the mystery of Christ. Jesus removes the garments of his glory, he girds himself with the "towel" of humanity, and becomes a slave. He washes the dirty feet of the disciples and thus makes them capable of participating in the divine meal to which He invites them. Exterior purifications for worship, which purify man ritually while nevertheless leaving him as he is, are replaced by the new bath: He makes us pure through his word and his love, through the gift of himself. "You are already pruned because of the word that I spoke to you," He will say to the disciples in his discourse on the vine (John 15:3). He continually washes us again with his word. Yes, if we welcome the words of Jesus in an attitude of meditation, of prayer and of faith, they develop their purifying power within us. Day after day, we are as it were covered with various forms of uncleanness, empty words, prejudice, partial and altered wisdom; a multifarious half-falsity or open falsity constantly infiltrates our depths. All of this obfuscates and contaminates our soul, it threatens to make us incapable of truth and goodness. If we welcome the words of Jesus with an attentive heart, these reveal themselves as genuine washings, purifications of the soul, of the inner man. This is what the Gospel of the washing of the feet invites us to: to allow ourselves continually to be washed again by this pure water, to allow ourselves to be made capable of convivial communion with God and with our brothers. Yet from the side of Jesus, after the blow of the lance from the soldier, there emerged not only water, but also blood (John 19:34; cf. 1 John 5:6,8). Jesus did not only speak, He did not leave us only words. He gives himself. He washes us with the sacred power of his blood, meaning his self-donation "to the end," to the Cross. His word is more than simple speech; it is flesh and blood "for the life of the world" (John 6:51). In the holy Sacraments, the Lord kneels down again and again before our feet, and washes us. Let us pray to Him that the sacred bath of his love may penetrate us more and more deeply, so that we may be truly purified!
If we listen attentively to the Gospel, we can discover two different aspects in the episode of the washing of the feet. The washing that Jesus performs for his disciples is above all simply his own action – the gift of purity, of the "capacity for God" offered to them. But the gift then becomes a model, the task of doing the same thing for each other. The Fathers described this twofold aspect of the washing of the feet with the words "sacramentum" and "exemplum." In this context, "sacramentum" does not refer to one of the seven sacraments, but to the mystery of Christ in its totality, from the incarnation to the cross and resurrection: this totality becomes the healing and sanctifying power, the transformative power for men, it becomes our "metabasis," our transformation into a new form of being, in openness toward God and in communion with Him. But this new being that He, without our merit, simply gives to us must then be transformed in us into the dynamic of a new life. The totality of gift and example that we find in the pericope of the washing of the feet is characteristic of the nature of Christianity in general. In comparison with moralism, Christianity is something more and something different. Our activity, our moral capacity is not placed at the beginning. Christianity is above all a gift: God gives himself to us – He does not give some thing, but himself. And this takes place not only at the beginning, at the moment of our conversion. He continually remains the One who gives. He always offers us his gifts anew. He always precedes us. For this reason, the central action of being Christians is the Eucharist: gratitude for having been gratified, the joy for the new life that He gives us.
In spite of all this, we do not remain passive recipients of the divine goodness. God gratifies us as personal and living partners. The love that is given is the dynamic of "loving together," it is intended to be a new life within us, beginning from God. We thus understand the words that, at the end of the account of the washing of the feet, Jesus speaks to his disciples and to all of us: "I give you a new commandment: love one another. As I have loved you, so you also should love one another" (John 13:34). The "new commandment" does not consist in a new and difficult norm, one that did not exist before. The new commandment consists in a loving together with Him who loved us first. This is also how we must understand the Sermon on the Mount. This does not mean that Jesus gave us new precepts at that time, which represented the demands of a more sublime humanism than the previous one. The Sermon on the Mount is a journey of training in conforming ourselves to the sentiments of Christ (cf. Philippians 2:5), a journey of interior purification that leads us to living together with Him. The new reality is the gift that introduces us into the mentality of Christ. If we consider this, we perceive how far we often are in our lives from this new reality of the New Testament; how slight an example we give to humanity of loving in communion with his love. We thus owe humanity a proof of the credibility of Christian truth, which is demonstrated in love. Precisely for this reason, we desire all the more to pray to the Lord to make us, through his purification, ripe for the new commandment.
In the Gospel of the washing of the feet, the conversation between Jesus and Peter presents yet another detail of the praxis of Christian life, to which we finally want to turn our attention. At an earlier point, Peter had not wanted to allow the Lord to wash his feet: this reversal of order, that the master – Jesus – should wash feet, that the master should perform the service of a slave, is completely in contrast with his reverential fear of Jesus, with his concept of the relationship between teacher and disciple. "You will never wash my feet," he tells Jesus in his usual passionate manner (John 13:8). This is the same mentality that, after the profession of faith in Jesus as Son of God, in Caesarea Philippi, had urged Peter to oppose Jesus when he had predicted his affliction and cross: "No such thing shall ever happen to you," Peter had declared categorically (Mt. 16:22). His concept of the Messiah involved an image of majesty, of divine greatness. He had to learn over and over again that the greatness of God is different from our idea of greatness; that it consists precisely in descending, in the humility of service, in the radicalness of love to the point of total self-abandonment. And we, too, must learn this over and over again, because we systematically desire a God of success, and not of the Passion; because we are not capable of realizing that the Shepherd comes as a Lamb who gives himself, and in this way leads us to the right pasture.
When the Lord tells Peter that without the washing of his feet he would never be able to have any part in Him, Peter immediately and impetuously asks to have his head and hands washed as well. This is followed by the mysterious words of Jesus: "Whoever has bathed has no need except to have his feet washed" (John 13:10). Jesus alludes to a bath that the disciples, according to ritual prescriptions, had already taken; in order to participate in the meal, they now needed only to have their feet washed. But naturally, a deeper meaning is hidden in this. To what does it allude? We do not know for sure. In any case, we should keep in mind that the washing of the feet, according to the meaning of the entire chapter, does not indicate a single specific Sacrament, but the "sacramentum Christi" in its entirety – his service of salvation, his descent even to the cross, his love to the end, which purifies us and makes us capable of God. Here, with the distinction between the bath and the washing of feet, nevertheless, there also appears an allusion to life in the community of the disciples, to life in the community of the Church – an allusion that John may have intentionally transmitted to the community of his time. It then seems clear that the bath that purifies us definitively and does not need to be repeated is Baptism – immersion in the death and resurrection of Christ, a fact that changes our lives profoundly, giving us something like a new a identity that endures, if we do not throw it away as Judas did. But even in the endurance of this new identity, for convivial communion with Jesus we need the "washing of the feet." What does this mean? It seems to me that the first letter of Saint John gives us the key for understanding this. There we read: "If we say, 'We are without sin,' we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we acknowledge our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive our sins and cleanse us from every wrongdoing" (1:8ff.). We need the "washing of the feet," the washing of our everyday sins, and for this we need the confession of sins. We do not know exactly how this was carried out in the Johannine community. But the direction indicated by the words of Jesus to Peter is obvious: in order to be capable of participating in the convivial community with Jesus Christ, we must be sincere. One must recognize that even in our own identity as baptized persons, we sin. We need confession as this has taken form in the Sacrament of reconciliation. In it, the Lord continually rewashes our dirty feet, and we are able to sit at table with Him.
But in this way, the word takes on yet another meaning, in which the Lord extends the "sacramentum" by making it the "exemplum," a gift, a service for our brother: "If I, therefore, the master and teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash one another's feet" (John 13:14). We must wash each other's feet in the daily mutual service of love. But we must also wash our feet in the sense of constantly forgiving one another. The debt that the Lord has forgiven us is always infinitely greater than all of the debts that others could owe to us (cf. Mt. 18:21-35). It is to this that Holy Thursday exhorts us: not to allow rancor toward others to become, in its depths, a poisoning of the soul. It exhorts us to constantly purify our memory, forgiving one another from the heart, washing each other's feet, thus being able to join together in the banquet of God.
Holy Thursday is a day of gratitude and of joy for the great gift of love to the end that the Lord has given to us. We want to pray to the Lord at this time, so that gratitude and joy may become in us the power of loving together with his love. Amen.

finding F!ragna after she erases all the memories of her, and starting anew?
I have no idea how that would work at all if it's even possible. Ragna makes it pretty clear at the end of CF that as long as he exists in the world, it is doomed to be trapped in a time loop forever, which is why he made the choice to stay with the Origin in the Master Unit. And it doesn't seem like we're getting new Blazblue lore anytime soon due to ArcSys announcing a fifth god damn season of Strive DLC...
