From the Facebook page of Disability Justice Network of Ontario, October 4, 2022:
We've launched a prison phone line to amplify the voices/experiences of disabled prisoners.
Please share these numbers in your communities across Ottawa, Milton & Hamilton with folks inside & outside of prison who may want to chat with us:
OUT OF PRISON NUMBER:
(905) 973 - 4332
TRAPP Phone Numbers (accepts collect calls):
Milton (416) 775-7938
Hamilton (905) 631-4084
Ottawa (613) 768-9951
Secondly, we're also looking to speak directly with young people, in person, about their experiences with incarceration who specifically are Black, racialized and disabled. For participating in this study group, an honorarium will be provided.

writing a paper about insect population decline and of course i find the apocalypse narrative that is always going around to be quite ridiculous because that would be. well incredibly unlikely. but anyways a while ago i was reading an article of this type and they were like ‘and monarch butterfly populations west of the rockies are so low they’re gonna die out over there!!’ which really goes to show a stunning lack of ecological awareness of some writers. it’s a wonder they have any monarchs over there at all when you consider that milkweed categorically avoids the region. this isn’t population decline because there is no population to decline

rn im majoring in forestry with a focus in forest biology, but might want to switch to aquatic biology. this is a ridiculously important thing to be asking on tumblr but i cannot even begin to decide. both would be super fucking interesting and have the same number of required credits
pros and cons below the cut
pros:
get to work with wetlands more
still doing stuff with plants and animals
the program is centered on freshwater conservation which i really like
was thinking of doing a water resources minor anyway, this would be easier to get all the credits
electives for both are super flexible so i could really focus on what interests me
watershed conservation is generally better paying than forestry
better to prepare for a ms in limnology
could stay in the greater great lakes region long-term
cons:
calculus i and ii
organic chemistry i and ii
i really fucking hate math
generally harder classes
might not go for an ms anyway

I would like to share one of my short stories, "The Jar of A Legend", and its protagonist, Sántha Negrescu, in the following post here:
To keep it brief, here's an information about Sántha:
Born on November 11, 1954 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, Sántha is the third generation of Romanian-Canadian Moroi vampire born to the Negrescu family.
He is considerably skinny and pale, with his waist size around 23-26 inches. He is 5’7″ (170 cm) and has a pair of pure blue eyes. He has a dark brown hair, thin lips with a pair of fangs appeared between them. His most distinct feature would be his striking eyebrows that give the impression of a fierce, young vampire master.
He’s quite agile, able to climb walls and rocky surfaces, and has a nocturnal vision. He can shapeshifts into animals like a bat or a wolf and has a pair of strong, sharp fangs.
Upon first meeting, Sántha appears awkward and stiff. He tends to be an introvert, often hides himself from the world, but is quite talkative around his family and closed friends. However, he’s quite observant of the world around him, a deep thinker who is inquisitive and always wonders about how the environment around him works. He can be uplifting, especially to his mother and grandparents. He’s self-governed, self-reliant and, although he has no ties to any allegiance, he loves his family.
He’s interested in true crime, video games (arcade being his favourite place), the colour black and red, and books with purple/archaic phrases.

The Smokin' 116 Bistro. Dirty Details of Breach of Contract investigation.
Written by Ashton Deroy
In an effort to get information related to Bay of Quinte Pride. I began looking into some of the local Businesses that serve them. In doing that I investigated their reviews page. Came across a customer story that makes me think. 116 Bistro might not be the Diversity loving GOOD Business they position themselves to be.
