I rly don’t see how ppl be 20+ shipping kids anymore tbh… like, it’s so rampant and I don’t see the appeal to it anymore being as tho I’m in my late 20’s.
#I’m grown….. it always baffles me to see it like man I don’t care I don’t find joy in it anymore since I’m not a teenager#I just look at them and think they’re like my fake son… daughter nephew niece whatever lol#give me the struggling and mentally fucked up 20+ year old give me those middle age bitches man if I’m going to like a ship now anyway#like i don’t care about the romance between kids man it sucks that this is such a huge thing in most fandom spaces#not that I participate in said spaces since ppl are annoying and embarrassing#also very nasty#sns is diff tho like that’s a whole other thing 🪽#sns is just a classic it’s legendary it transcends space and time it it-#I’m so glad that jjk is full of adults tho lmfaoo#one of Gege’s only W’s… especially impressive for a shounen#i like jjk outside of the goiji pairings too like I just genuinely enjoy it despite how awful it is now lol#again#I do think that ppl need to learn how to become more comfortable with enjoying media outside of shipping tho#like there’s nothing wrong with it obviously but I’m talking more like how tons of ppl only get into a new series for the sole purpose#of shipping instead of engaging with said media and the story that it’s trying to tell…#this is why fanon and wild insane hc’s usually get out of control too to the point where those who might be interested in checking out#a series might be deterred because they don’t even know what the show is about because the only stuff that ppl see about the thing is ship#stuff and like discourse#and the behavior of the fans…#these ppl be 30+ arguing with teenagers man it’s crazy to me#I just think there needs to be a balance lol#like still go crazy. Have fun and all but you get it#but anyway. with all that being said! Goiji stays winning in my heart 🚶🏾‍♀️#rambling

You know, I think there's something so, so insidious to the idea that Orym's perspective of the Vanguard is "flawed/human" or that him repeatedly reminding his friends what the Vanguard does (kill innocents to achieve their means) "blocks nuance" in the conversation, etc, because it implies that, in this mythical "objective" perspective that apparently exists, the Vanguard aren't so bad. If only Orym could put aside his petty grievances, such as the murder of his father and husband, and let people be nuanced about this situation, he'd see there's two sides to this story. And why discount the Vanguard's perspective just because *checks notes* they're a massive, manipulative cult that preys on vulnerable people to join their ranks and turns them to violence, or that they work with a centuries-old fascist eugenicist literally mind-controlling psychic government with the goal of freeing a creature that could very well destroy the world as we know it and even if it doesn't, will leave an enormous power vacuum for that fascist government to potentially occupy when they invade Exandria?
I think there's some misconception people have that they think war shouldn't ever be personal and if it does become personal for someone then their logic is too clouded by their feelings to see the situation clearly, just automatically. And perhaps sometimes, in some contexts, this can be true! But not here. It's actually quite cut and dried that Orym's "flawed, human" perspective is the one reminding everyone of the human cost to Ludinus' grand plans, all in the name of so called "progress"

when i vent about how shipping culture and romance in media has led to aspec discrimination and a corrosion of friendship in real life some people respond to it with "well you're aspec and dislike to ship however i'm allo and it's a part of me to like shipping" they literally miss my point. i don't dislike ships. i have a few ships myself. it's completely valid to enjoy these aspects as a personal preference. i dislike shipping CULTURE and the insistence that everything must be romantic/sexual.
amanormativity is the reason why friendships in real life are treated as inherently lesser than a romantic relationship. it's why people get made fun of for being virgins when everyone should just mind their damn business. and it reflects hard in the fandom preference for everything ship-related and pushing aside anything else. also saying it's inherently allo to ship sounds really fucking amanormative to me but what can i say

it drives me NUTS when people say that Taliesin and Matt decided together backstage to kill off Molly. It makes 0 sense and it's ??? just such an unnecessary rumor to spread. People on reddit often spout it like it's just a known fact. Like, as if Taliesin didn't famously complain about having to pull all nighters over a busy weekend to roll and conceptualize a new character cuz he had ZERO backup. As if Molly didn't JUST have a huge lore drop and was clearly building to be a major focus of the next branch of the story. As if Matt didn't have LOADS of lore and planning already done that he had to to redo and reconfigure to fit with the Tomb Takers going and exhuming Molly to continue their plans. Matt said he had this whole thing where Lucien was gonna show up in a different body and hunt down the M9 to kill Molly and take his old body back. He SAID that!
Idk why this drives me nuts. It just feels... almost disrespectful. Like. Y'all. Taliesin isn't a baby. He fucked up. It's okay. He made a dumb choice in the heat of the battle and doubled down and it got his character killed. Things escalated and there wasn't a healer and it's JUST as simple as that. Stop making shit up to justify something that only SEEMS LIKE IT'S ORDAINED because these people are talented story tellers. Blowing all the work they did to reconfigure the story and just HAND WAVING and being like "they planned it ahead of time" is just rude. If it all seems preplanned it's cuz Matt busted his patootie off and reweaved a frayed tapestry into a beautiful work. Happy accidents and all that. CMON.

I absolutely understand the desire for asexual representation and I really do think that that's something that deserves to be represented in more "mainstream" gay media (how much gay media is actually mainstream is debatable but you know what I mean), but at the same time I just can't get behind posts like, idk, lamenting the loss of potential asexual representation because two guys on TV had nasty gay sex, bc gay sex on TV is not "the norm" no matter how you slice it. Whereeeee is all the media filled with nasty gay sex. Can I see it

the qsmp needs a break where everyone involved can sit down and agree on some stuff
Deal with the higher up admins who were treating others poorly and clearly not working towards a good experience for ccs instead just more attention
establish good rules and regulations for the admins
communicate with all the ccs involved and ask what they think could be an improvement
They NEED to sit down with the ccs and the admins and rewrite the entire lore and a plan. Its fine if they retcon some stuff or ignore stuff. But its been clear for months they dont have much of a plan. They do however have a lot to work with and it could be so interesting
Its clear most people involved really care about the server and its goal so Im sure htey would be willing to cooperate and fix the issues

i really don’t understand how some fantasy high enjoyers don’t see the very obvious metaphor for aromantic denial within baron from the baronies in sophomore year. baron is a nightmare creature that came into existence because riz lied about having a partner so his friends wouldn’t bother him about it? he made up baron when his friends were all talking about the people they wanted to kiss? how is that not aromantic to some people. maybe it’s more obvious to me because i HAVE been in denial about being aro and made up crushes for myself and tried to pretend i had them. just because i felt it was a thing i needed to do, that it was a thing that EVERYONE had to have a crush and that it was normal. how do you see the confrontation between baron and riz as anything other than accepting aromanticism. this thing, his nightmares personified, says to him “the years will go by, and everyone will find someone that matters more to them than you.” as an aro person yeah that’s gotta be up there with the top ten nightmares.
how do you look at this interaction and NOT see an aromantic boy.
Tumblr media
(for further elaboration, yes i am aware that aromantic people CAN want to kiss others and hell yeah power to you, i’m just saying that it’s a common thing to not care about kissing/not want to do it)
and another thing with with the fhigh fandom is that like, some people will go through every loophole they can to try and pair up riz anyways. aromantic people CAN be in relationship, of course, but why would people take this specific boy, who has repeatedly expressed distaste in being in a relationship, and ship him with other people. especially since fabian and riz is a common ship. is it because they’re best friends? is it because people value romance over friendship? oh they’re such close friends they must have a thing! it’s so stupid. why is it, that when a character is asexual (riz, being confirmed asexual), people respect that. they don’t often go “oh yeah i know they’re asexual but asexual people can have sex! or want to have sex! it’s a spectrum!”. (that is true, btw, ace people can have sex and all that. but it’s different when allosexual people do it to try and just make up excuses to not treat asexual characters like they’re asexual.) why do i mostly see it done with aromantic people? one of this boy’s biggest fear is people pairing up and leaving him behind. how do you see that as a boy who WANTS to be in a relationship? do you think he WANTS to pair up as well?
just because it’s not been outwardly confirmed and directly said “riz gukgak is aromantic” doesn’t mean that it’s not true, y’know? there’s subtext, there’s symbolism, there’s metaphors, there’s DIRECT REFERENCES TO RIZ NOT LIKING ROMANCE! i don’t really know how people can see him as alloromantic
anyways thank you for coming to my ted talk, this is sam (confirmed aroace) signing off or something
(also some of my non-aro, romance enjoying friends have confirmed that the aro implications are very obvious so clearly it’s not just an aro brain thing to understand)

discourse over, if a cubito does anything don't ask yourself "is this a morally correct thing?" But ask yourself if it will push the story forward. You may dread or celebrate where the story has been pushed to but morality should not be a concern to us in this island

which fish is the worst at sex
i'm gonna be honest i'm not a fish biologist but i don't think (most) fish "have sex" in the way we do, I'm pretty sure that the female of the species lays eggs and then they get fertilized once they're outside the female fish's body. And some fish do things like change biological sex, usually for reproductive purposes, especially reef fish if i remember correctly, so that's cool. anyway i found this online

saying bell’s hells uniquely mistreats laudna and using the turn undead incident (when they were SURROUNDED by undead) as an example is. Laughable. If we’re gonna go all “my blorbo is treated the most cruelly by the party 🥺” I’ve got shit I can bring up! I can bring back how the Ruby vanguard killed Orym’s family and laudna STILL keeps wondering if they’re doing the right thing! But no, he’s biased, as opposed to laudna who is totally objective from 30 years of being tormented by Delilah. I can talk about how no one thought about Ashton during the party split! I can talk about how no one has EVER taken FCG’s exploration of faith seriously and they’ve been downright cruel about it. But I won’t, because for the most part no one is trying to harm each other!
I swear people on Twitter sound like scanlan during bard’s lament, except that scanlan was a character in a deeply bad mental state and Sam knew he was being unfair with his accusations.

Please reblog for more exposure! Also, this isn't an offer to start debates in my replies or reblogs. Express your opinions as loudly and perhaps violently as you'd like, but just to yourselves, not at one another. If you try to start an argument, regardless of what side you're on, I'm blocking you. This is just to gather Tumblr's general opinion.
Anyone on either side of the debate can interact with this post, given that this is a neutral space.

I feel like people should just agree to not talk about the opposing team that they clearly don't watch, because the glaring misconceptions that get spread around can so easily be solved if you either accept that you're biased and just stick with your team, or literally just watched from the other povs.
