Substack alternatives?
So Substack is making some... questionable decisions regarding hosting alt-right and outright Neo-Nazi content. This article on Mashable seems to summarize things pretty well:
I was thinking of mirroring some of my original content on Substack, for people who aren't on Tumblr to find, but now that's... kind of an iffy proposition. Even if people don't leave Substack in a hurry over this, the rise of the alt-right side of the site means that a trans blogger like me might be in for some trouble if I stick around.
So... anyone know of Substack alternatives? Ones that people actually use? The article mentions two but I've never heard of them. I've heard of Buttondown, I think it was, on Blusky.

I've been looking forward to this, my short story, The Final Mantra, is now up on substack where you can read it for free. This is a story about naga and humanity, a piece of mythology from another world. It would mean a lot to me if you read it and engaged with it.

Where can I post my articles which I write freely without following anybody's rules and get paid?
There are many platforms where you can post your articles and get paid without following any strict guidelines. Here are a few options to consider:
Medium: Medium is a popular platform for writers of all levels, and it's a great place to build an audience and get your work noticed. You can earn money through Medium's Partner Program, which pays writers based on the number of views and claps their articles receive.
Substack: Substack is another popular platform that allows writers to build their own subscription newsletters. You can set your own subscription price, and you'll keep 95% of the revenue.
Patreon: Patreon is a platform that allows you to create a community around your work. You can offer your patrons exclusive content, early access to new articles, and other perks.
Vocal Media: Vocal Media is a platform that pays writers based on the engagement their articles receive. You can earn money through views, likes, and comments.
HubPages: HubPages is a platform that allows you to write articles on a variety of topics. You can earn money through Google AdSense ads that are displayed on your articles.
In addition to these platforms, there are many other websites and online communities that are looking for high-quality content. You can find a list of these websites by doing a simple Google search. The most important thing is to create high-quality content that people will want to read and share.
Here are some additional tips for getting paid to write:
Find a niche: It's easier to stand out from the crowd if you focus on writing about a specific topic.
Promote your work: Share your articles on social media and other online platforms.
Build relationships with other writers: Networking can help you find new opportunities and get your work noticed.
Don't give up: It takes time to build a successful writing career. Don't get discouraged if you don't see results overnight.
I hope this helps! If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
Please Follow, comment, and like this answer if you found it helpful.

Hawk and Evelyn: #001
I wrote a short story! It's the first in a series following two characters and their tendency towards chaos and trouble!
'In front of him, a swing creaked eerily and a scratching sound came from the slide, as if something was going down it even in the empty darkness. All these sounds would once cause him to freeze or runaway, but now he ignored them. The true horror was within.'

Fundamentally if someone looks out on the whole span of humanity today and complains that life is too convenient and easy I can't help but feel a real contempt? Even beyond the total selfish myopia, it's not like the world lacks for edifying struggles and productive challenges for someone with some free time and capital to take on. You're just terminally incurious and lazy and want to make it technology's fault.

"Do you notice watching the pilot that I, with my ponytail swinging, was in every background shot, standing behind Brad in every meeting with my folder? I was curious if I had engineered that, casually slipping into every scene, or had they already sensed that this relationship was a thing. I didn't know we had chemistry back then, although I can see it now clearly. As I watched Josh and Donna crackling, the connection already so layered, who wouldn't want more?
The first scene I shot was with John Spencer. I remember asking Tommy Schlamme, our director, if I could have a yogurt at my desk. He gave me one second of consideration, barely stopping his loping stride, and said, “No.” I followed him behind the camera (such a Donna move), sure that this was an excellent idea, sure that this natural activity would be a tiny brush stroke in the tableau of morning ritual and asked him again. He looked at me with a quick sigh and said, “Fine, just don't eat it.” With these small choices, I made the few minutes I had on camera as vivid and undeniable as possible. John said after we finished the scene, that I would be there until the curtain came down."

The Substack! It lives!
Please do get an eyeful of the whole thing, but for those who want to cut straight to one of the newer goodies, this is the link to the new preview chapter of Harker.
Minor note: For some reason the order of posts got a bit screwy. The chapters for specific stories are all still clustered together but a bit mixed around. I think it has something to do with me fussing with edits and the Substack publishing in order of what was tinkered with last, but oh well. I'll do better with future posts that aren't dropped in a bulk pile.
Hope you enjoy the early Halloween treat!

I thought I scheduled this to go up later in the day, but it looks like I set the posting time for 12AM instead of 12PM. These posts are just monthly check ins where I go over the past month and loose plans for the future.
