...And now I'm just imagining the Young Justice members for some reason making arguments about who Robin's favorite teammate is and they all come to him to ask and he's just like looks directly at all of them and just says

Superboy: come on, Rob, why can't I fly the Supercycle?

Robin: because it doesn't like you.

Superboy: what do you mean? It likes me just fine.

*Superboy turns to look at the Supercycle* Superboy talking to the supercycle: you like me, right?

*Supercycle's antiproton cannon pops out.*

Superboy: it's giving me that look

Robin: what look?

Superboy: the same look you give me whenever I do something that you think is stupid

*Robin folds his arms and narrows his eyes.*

Superboy: yeah that look!

Robin: what makes you think that it's giving you that look?

Superboy: I don't know. I can just tell

*Robin facepalm.*

Superboy: wait, did you tell it to do that?

Robin: what? No!

*2 hours earlier.*

*Robin explaining to the Supercycle what it should do when Superboy wants to fly it.* Robin: alright. Now what do you do when Superboy wants to fly you?

I know I just complained about the batfamily being a 70% of the Yj98 tags on ao3 BUT a fic where the Batfam has NO idea about anything related to young justice and they’re on a life threatening situation and they have NO WAY to get away. The Batmobile is compromised and the grappling hooks are cut. They can’t. Get. Away.

Until Tim, on sheer panic, calls for the Super-Cycle. And SC, hearing the panic on the voice of one of its friends, just rush in to help.

Imagine the Batfamily on a weird, sentient car, with whose Tim is talking to as if it were a long time friend. They think he’s losing it.

Just had a kind of cursed thought. Is the supercycle basically the magic school bus to young justice? Like they all have their own stories (for the most part) going on but then they do young justice stuff and supercycle just takes them on a crazy adventure.

But Kon doesn’t have anything that smells like him, not even the stupid Bat-blocker scent, and–

Wait, Kon thinks, tightening his TTK around himself again and pausing right before he shoves the other couch over. The stupid–the blockers. Robin always wears them, and they’re heavy-duty and durable and meant for long-term wear, but like . . . but he’s a Bat, and he’s Robin, so like–

So he’s got backups, because when didn’t a Bat have a backup. Kon knows he does, because he’s seen him stick weird little random things in weird little random places in the base or his belt or just his suit outright, like, a thousand times. There’s no way he doesn’t have any of those stupid Bat-blockers tucked away somewhere in the base. 

Which–yeah. There’s definitely Bat-blockers somewhere around here. And he knows that’s not Robin’s real scent, obviously, but . . . well, it’s the only scent he’s ever caught off Robin anyway, so . . . 

Kon thinks, very carefully: okay. Places Robin would keep spare blockers. Places Robin would hide spare blockers. 

He tightens his TTK a little more, and thinks . . . someplace that none of them would just stumble over accidentally, but still easy-access, but not predictable or obvious either. Just . . . someplace subtle, but smart, but simple, but . . . 

There’s gotta be some somewhere. There’s no way Robin doesn’t have any backup blockers on-base. Like, definitely most of them are in his belt, but that’s only one stash, so obviously, like . . . obviously there’s more somewhere. It’s Robin. Mr. “Wears Two Masks to the Team Sleepover Just in Case We Play Truth-or-Dare and Superboy’s a Prick About It”. 

There’s definitely, definitely more Bat-blockers somewhere. 

Locker room’s too obvious. Meeting room and common room are too busy. Storage area’s too out of the way. Kitchen’s too likely to end up contaminated. Garage is–

Garage, Kon thinks abruptly, and then tightens his TTK around himself and his arms around his nesting stuff, and then zips out of the common room and down the hall. They’re in and out through there all the time but nobody really lingers there, it’s literally just the Super-Cycle most of the time and it fuckin’ adores Rob, so no way it’d rat out any of his hiding places, and– 

Kon jerks to a stop about three feet into the garage and realizes–the Super-Cycle. The Super-Cycle might be– 

The Super-Cycle Is, in fact, here. It perks up curiously, its horn trilling, and half-rolls, half-wriggles towards him. Kon . . . stares at it. 

It’s the first, like–sapient, like . . . he’s not really sure how smart the Super-Cycle is, but it’s not stupid, he knows. Like–maybe dog-smart, or dolphin-smart, or little-kid-smart, or maybe smarter than any of them really understand in a way they can’t understand, or . . . 

He hasn’t–he’s–

Kon feels like an idiot, but he’s fucking embarrassed.
